The year is about to end in some days from now and we can be facing 2018 with some determination and joyful heart. We are all hoping that 2018 will be a much better year for our finances because Bitcoin will continue its strength surging ahead carrying the flag of cryptocurrency to greater heights never seen before. There will always be problems, challenges and threats but at the same there will be more opportunities and new ways and means to make our dreams come true.

At the rate of 1 (being the lowest) and 10 (being the highest), how optimistic are you for the coming new year 2018?

yes, I agree with you. Optimism is an attitude that a successful person must possess.
I am optimistic with bitcoin from the first I know bitcoin, I am sure that bitcoin will develop well, even I am sure that someday bitcoin will be equivalent to lamborghini price.

I am very confident in 2018 I will be more successful in earning bitcoin earnings by way of trading, because I have prepared and understand the science of good trading, with the science that I have for trading, I am more optimistic to get profit in 2018.

If I will be rating what i saw for bitcoin it'll be 8 I believe it increases as big as today bit we never know if it will gonna fall done still in a year we should expect for something that can occur as a negative thing but I'm so positive that it'll be a boom or increase of bitcoin value this incoming year and many people will know and have a knowledge about bitcoin.

I think that 2018 will be a year of altcoins just like 2017 was a year of bitcoin. I'm optimistic about it, so I'd recommend investing in altcoins. They cost not that much (except Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash), but will definitely grow a lot in my opinion.

I am and always been optimistic about Bitcoins, but I feel one should be bit careful now, with the whales in, it would now make sense to diversify in Bitcoins cash and other coins to. Though currently I'm holding my coins close to me, but I do plan to buy some alts in case major volatility takes place. If on a number scale, I would say 7.5, cause no one knows what new year shall bring.

Yes, I am very optimistic for 2018. I think Bitcoin price will keep on rising, as well as many altcoins too. But there still are some problems to solve like scaling and fees, but I think they could be solved and thus I'm about 8/10.

In the same vein, I am very optimistic about the development prospects of the blockchain in 2018 and the price and price of Bitcoin and altcoin. on a scale from 1 to 10 i'm at 8/10 because this has been proven many times that BTC are widely and well supported by loads of people.
Scaling is an issue but i'm confident it will be solved soon (and i'm looking at you 2018) because this can't be ignored anymore, other than that if you are not living under a rock, you see talking about bitcoin everywhere, newspaper, community, hell now even memes on the internet are about bitcoin.

2018 will be a wonderful year BECAUSE of 2017.   Up or down, 2017 has been seriously crazy awesome ride.   

Even with all the FUD and negativity there is around the future of Bitcoin, I'm very optismic about 2018 being the year of Bitcoin. I believe it'll also be a great year for altcoins as well, but i'm more into Bitcoin. Hopefully, SegWit and Lightning Network will be up and running meaning that a much larger adoption will be on its way, and Bitcoin, along with the blockchain technology, will reach new heights.

I'm really very optimistic for 2018 because it's really the year where everything will be done, some alts are probably disappearing is on but big potential risk to rise

I'm still a person and I do have emotion when it comes to the things that are happening in crypto though I will remain optimistic.

Out of these trials and challenges that happened for the past months and years bitcoin has gone so far and now it's experiencing again some dip which makes it's price still on high, it will remain calm again on 2018.

i'm less sure of the price trajectory. i am very bullish on crypto in the long term, but i know there will be some big corrections along the way. there's no denying that we are in a major speculative bubble right now. this rate of growth isn't sustainable, but it's also hard to know when it will slow down. at some point, speculation will dry up (like it did in early 2014) and the short term speculators will start selling to long term investors. that could take place next year.

 I think that 2018 will be very favourable for bitcoin trading, according to the previous price increases of bitcoin trading. Almost all fields there occurs some type of obstacles and challenges we should take up the challenges and obstacles with an healthy mind and be optimistic for the coming year.

I'm very optimistic about Bitcoin's future in the next year. Bitcoin, this year, started to become more and more popular and that is a great sign. People started to understand that we need to get rid of current financial system which will probably fall apart soon. I can't wait for both wide SegWit adoption and Lightning Network which will definitely increase Bitcoin usability and popularity. Now, it's a hard time for Bitcoin which we have to survive. Finally someone with a realistic view on this market, which nowadays is almost impossible to find. If I see people sharing genuine concerns on how unsustainable current levels are, or that they expect a solid correction to take place, people directly say that it's fud or that the person in question missed the boat, etc. Main point of importance is that even if we do see the market correct (more than it has done currently), the market is still up massively, and this is something people tend to ignore. Regarding the speculation drying out, as long as we have bullish indicators to hold on to, there is room for more upwards speculation, and that's definitely the case right now.

9/10 is my rate for myself, I'm very confident that I will earn my first ever 1 Bitcoin in year 2018. All I have to do is just focus on working in campaigns, hold my altcoins, and never ever spend till it goes in high value. I hope that 2018 is the year for altcoins that I am holding right now. Yes ofcourse. I hope bitcoin will make upto $30k mark. Its true that its price today goes down by about $2k but i still beleive that it will bubble again. Still more and more people are joining the bitcoin world and lets continue to invest more next year.

I can say I'm pretty optimistic as for next year and the future regarding BTC.Perhaps for some people now everything looks pretty bad because price is drop hard and fees are so high,transaction are very slow,but if we look into the past this is nothing new and is quite normal in the world of cryptocurrency.

I remember days when BTC is worth only 200$ and even 1000$ seemed pretty far away,now we are above 10 000$ and when problems with high fees and slow transaction be resolved it will be difficult for someone or something to stand on the road to further progress of BTC.

This year was so wonderful that its hard for me to believe that next year can be better then this one. After every top drop is coming, and I wonder was this year some kind of top? Bitcoin will continue this road next year that is for sure, many good things happened but I advise people to be careful and to not rush into any kind of investments and in any time. I'm optimistic but with some reserves, market exploded this year and we need to wait some time before next explosion.

I hope bitcoin could recover from its downfall today, decenber 22 2017. I see it is collapsing from $17k to $12k and still going down. It would be better if it recovers after christmas season so I could celebrate the new year with greater earnings.

Another week we will be celebrating the 2018 new year, and it appears that many users redeem to their bitcoin and altcoin fiat thus making the price of all today's cryptocurrencies drop and bitcoin has dropped 27%. but I'm optimistic that 2018 bitcoin and altcoin will be better than this year.

I am optimistic that bitcoin will surpass all the hard forks that we'll be facing. Sure there be challenges and downs that the industry will be experience but surely we'll all get through it, heads up. I can say that it's 8/10 bitcoin is a strong community bu there are still few things that needs to be improved. Price declined significantly today, I don't know what happeend. Yet, I'm still optimistic about bitcoin. Pump and dumps happen frequently in the market and whales make money from this actions, as you know.

Yeah, the year of 2017 was a roller-coaster year for cryptocurrencies and especially for the Bitcoin but things on the end are on a better level as compared to that of the beginning of the year but I am expecting this correction to last next 3 months and then the next rally would take place in the market. If you are specifically asking about the number on the scale then I would say 7 out of 10 because we still have some issues including higher fees and we might or might not find the solution for it immediately.

I hope there will be good opportunities this coming 2018 for like me who used to rely on bitcoin for my financial issues. I barely made it though in this year because it was not that long since I started Bitcoin. If you're going to ask me to rate it I would give a perfect 10. 2017 has been incredible.   I think that 2018 will be another breakout year.

I am at a level 10 optimistic for the year 2018. There have been times like these before in Bitcoin but it has already proven itself many times. I am about a 7 or 8 level of optimism and that is only because there will be a lot of push back from banks and governments and maybe even some people when it comes to mainstream adoption for cryptos. Overall I think it will have little effect and cryptos will get adopted but nonetheless there will be a struggle otherwise I would be 10 for optimism.

Yes we can optimistic for 2018 ,the price of bitcoin will reach more than a 50,000$.You may think it will b very high,by considering the price reduction.But the think is,the price of the bitcoin is just fluctuates and it' not  a permanent one for that.With this year end the price may go back to 19k$ soon.

I do believe that the year 2018 will be a surprising year to everyone. As we see the increased of btc this year is unstopable sometimes it fall but still the gap start from january until now is so much stunning. It shown a big diffrence. Five. I prefer to keep a realistical approach and I honestly have no idea how bitcoin will fare tomorrow never mind six to twelve months from right now. I guess it all depends on what you base your optimism on or what is success in bitcoin to you? Mass adoption? Price rise? What if we get many new companies or industries accepting bitcoin but the price falls or doesn't grow by much? Will bitcoin then be a success or failure? It's really hard to say. Many only hope is we avoid a big bubble because if bitcoin falls in value by half again many people will be quick to jump on the tulip/ponzi accusations which bitcoin really doesn't need right now with all the other growing pains it is dealing with.

I think 2018  is very much wonderful than 2017. Because the value of bitcoin is like a rollercoaster up and down the value. Bitcoin now is getting high value so many of us loves bitcoin. Invest and trading bitcoin gives you chance to success.

A complete 10. Bitcoin got it's break in 2017 which lead to it being internationally acclaimed and the price to grow by such a high margin. I personally believe Bitcoin will continue to grow and making profits from it will become easier and more effective in 2018.

I am thinking that it is an 8 for me. That is how optimistic I am. The reason for such score is because of the possibility of the major forks coming. There will be competitors such as segwit2x's return. I'm of the same opinion as many others here :) I'm optimistic for 2018 even after the large price correction we've just and the flaws with fees and transaction in bitcoin I still believe we can see a 500+% increase for 2018

I think it's going to be 9. I actually wish it was 10, but to be 10 it has to happen 100% perfect in 2018, but it's hard to do that. Soon believing in the strength that Bitcoin has, I thought 9 is a good choice.

Being optimistic is a good character to a man who never give up even though so many trials in life.Every year is a new year to us.Being down last year,I'm very hopeful to this coming new year because of this forum.I can see that this bitcoins would be my answered prayer that can help and provide my financial problem.I know it is not easy to earn bitcoins but i will try my best to do it because i have positive feeling that this is the only way to have an extra and good decent income.

There is no denying it 2018 should be a great year for bitcoin even better than 2017. If you think about it we are now seeing wall street coming aboard the bitcoin train. That in my opinion will only help to make demand stronger as well a encourage developers to try to fix transaction fees and confirmation speeds. The bad news will never stop but we should be ok as long as the good news and  developments dont stop.

The transaction flaws is the biggest issue with bitcoin and until that is solved i really do not want to see the price going up just like that without any base,gambling was the best thing i liked with bitcoin and with the price so high and the transaction delay is really high it is really irritating to wait for a long time to make the bet.

I am very optimistic about the bitcoin because it is showing up the things in positive way. No its not gonna fall at all because people are warming up for the year 2018 and they just want their Christmas very warm. So they are selling the bitcoin for now, thats why the fall in prices. Once the Christmas is over people are going to work up on the bitcoin again with full speed and thus they will help the bitcoin to reset to original prices. By original I really mean that the prices will reach the 20K mark again.

Hopefully the bitcoin will be able to recover in the first month only.

What you have stated above is the same opinion I am having. Bitcoin price increase in 2018 in undisputed but what we cannot predict is how much the price will get to. However the limited supply of 21 000 000 btc is a major determinant of price hike.

Other means of payment like cash, gold, stocks or what have you are all regulated by some kind of law or another. As far as I know, Bitcoin has always been through all the years successfully. I am more optimistic for 2018 after the recent price dump. I think i would be little worried if things were still perfect. As you might know, Bitcoin price dump usually happens in the end of December every year. Now that it's over, I am very confident that Bitcoin can easily hit $30k or even more. However, there could be drawbacks like the recent new Tax reforms and the continuous and unstoppable number of new ICO that divided the people from several coins. i have read about some analysis saying this too, also some very pessimistic analysis that say btc price might crash to 3000$ again in this year and stops other coins price increase
still waiting to see what will happen, but according to them, if BTC price does breaks 12500$ this week, it will crash heavily again
