A trader just made a million dollar bet that Bitcoin would be over $50k by the end of 2018  A large trader (or traders) just plopped down a million dollars betting that Bitcoin would hit $50k sometime in 2018.

That's too far ahead, but just imagine if we would do even half of what bitcoins did this year, then $50k is nothing. Bitcoins jumped from $800 to $20,000 (its all time high) in less than a year! That's amazing. That is 25x since it started this year. Imagine if it would even do just 5x. Then $20,000 x 5 = $100,000 by the end of 2018. It's quite possible I think!

In 2018 bitcoin will soar higher. There will be more investors. Eventually the demand will increase again after the holidays. People will start there yearly goals and most likely they will include bitcoin investment in their list. I believe bitcoin price in 2018 will probably be more than $100,000.

Yeah! I always look back from march 2017 I remember that bitcoin that day really hard to get almost $1000 that time and there is already crush and ups but I really wonder that bitcoin this December 2017 really beat approximately almost $20,000. So, in my own opinion as I experience the greatness of bitcoin this year I really expect too that bitcoin will soon beat $50,000 before year 2018 ends. Yeah! I think that there isnt a man can tell you what it will happen with bitcoin. Maybe investors will move to monero, or ethereum or maybe people will mass adopt btc. If there is someone who could tell you that it means he can see into the future and he would be rich.
As in every investment nobody can predict what it will be in the future. In the 2008 crysis some "sure" stocks went down to 10% of they`re value so thare you have it.

Yeah you are right. Its just like bitcoin is going to dump more there and is really difficult to rise but look at today btc will going to rise about $20k. Btc has more potential in the coming year.

With what w have witnessed this year from the bitcoin price it comes to no surprise if it actually hits that price, last year bitcoin was 900$ worth a couple of months after it bitcoin reached the 2000$ point and in November it reached 10k, less than a month after it it reached almost 20k, as far as when the price will hit 50k it is no known wether it will take a year or a month as the growth is unexpected and unpredictable, so just hold your bitcoin and you will make profit beyong what you can imagine.

It's simply too far out to predict the end of 2018. We don't even know what exactly will happen to Bitcoin by the end of 2017.

Its too far, I cant even predict what will be bitcoin for tomorrow, the volatility and the movement of bitcoin is way too fast and there are so many legality challenge in the future, but I still see a great future for bitcoin in 2018, hopefully bitcoin could reach a very high price in end of 2018

I`ve heard that due to increase of BTC mining complexity, it will not be profitable to mine BTC to the end of 2018 if BTC price will be lower than $300K, so we can make some conclusion from this ;)

One of the crypto economy experts had speculated earlier in 2016 that bitcoin will be around $20,000 by the end of 2017 and the same person again claimed days before that one dsy we should see bitcoin price at $100,000, unfortunately he hasn't mentioned year. Surely, it is possible if more people  get involved and support bitcoin, then the speculated price range isn't far from being true

End of 2018 is still farther from now I am expecting it to be done by 6 to 7 months from now because it has already proven its strength by going from $800 to $20,000. Imagine what could be the results if it does behave the same way here. Demand and volatility is increasing day by day and by the summer people start investing into the bitcoin. I am just worried about the taxation in india if the prices reach over there.

That could happen because the current Bitcoin price is very difficult to predict, I see so many opportunities that in the future we will be able to see significant Bitcoin price increases. As more and more Bitcoin is used and growing demand, it can increase Bitcoin's popularity. We will probably see that 50K $ is impossible at the moment, but if you look at it optimistically it can be true. WelI do expect that Bitcoin price will still reach $20K, even it goes down nowadays, because people will still engage to Bitcoin in future days and that is year 2018. I still believe, that Bitcoins value will recover and take its increase speedily  from time to time

Well, lot of expectations is a commonly indemand. But when it comes to think of it, are you really sure that it takes too up and get by the target? Maybe yes, and maybe it's no. But more expectations is really happened because we want to have more profit to earn.

I don't think it would be possible especially now we are again facing the dillema of bitcoin holders a huge drop is taking over and its really alarming because the price of bitcoin drops so much unlike on the previous fluctuations that happen. I am afraid of tomorrow now its very unpredictable as much as I would like to keep my bitcoin I'm starting to feel the tragedy ahead.

it is really stressful for investors to see the price of bitcoin dropping to fast now nearly 12000$ from this price at the end of the year, i can see not much hope to witness the price reach 50000$ at the end of the year 2018, it may reach 25000$ is maximum.

The price of bitcoin is going up and down...and it critical reduction in price now can't help us determine what the price will be tomorrow.

Very interesting. As i can see the bitcoin price now a days are getting lower and lower due to many factors. As i can see maybe the year end amount of bitcoin is around $6000 to $7000 because many people is in need of money right now because its christmas time and they need money to buy staff. But then again  it will continue to rise constantly because people will invest back again to bitcoin to stack it and sell. Its just a cycle the repeats itself unexpectedly. If the same trend continues in coming year i mean if the prices soar like what happened this year then $50k would be easily crossed with all the dramas of price manipulations also.The prices rose from $1000 to $19000 which is almost 19 times and if this flow remains stable then price would be at $60-$70k by end of 2k18 because the investors are placing btc at top in their portfolio and demand is rising unstopablly inspite of the whales trying to drop its prices.Have faith and hodl.

$50000 looks quite easy to me considering that BTC already rose to 20k this year itself. It’s imperative that it will rise around 1.5 times in the coming future. But this is only when no one really interrupts the journey of bitcoin. I mean if there is not any large announcements which can affect its prices. If everything goes smooth 100k is coming in 2018.

According to my knowledge, the number of investors investing in bitcoin is increasing considerably and instead of withdrawing their money, the investors are busy in investing more money into bitcoin as they know this will help them in having more money in the near future. The market value of bitcoin will increase in the future and we can experience a really good increase in the market value in the coming days.

50 thousand dollars is something very easy to achieve, i think that it will just happen before the middle of the year, so i think that $50k was just a "little bet".
In fact, i think that it will be over $10k in a year from now, so yes, maybe i am optimist, but i really think that it is possible.

I think in 2018 that bitcoin will become more popular in the world which means bitcoin prices will increase but I think at the end of 2017 bitcoin prices will temporarily decrease in price very drastically.

Bitcoin will soar by 2018 if mass adoption happen. But with the current network, the transaction fees and how long a transaction is confirmed I think bitcoin will struggle. Those concerns need to be addressed. Or some Alts will do. As per now, for me bitcoin is not a currency its gold.

Bitcoin's price will stay probably at 15k to 16k USD because of the correction. Take note that if we pumped hard, the correction will hit us hard too. it is very hard to judge the future of bitcoin coz it has very wild up and down if you compare it with stock markert of gold market , yes bitcoin is preacious and something reveloutionary but it has been a baby gient now and moves harder as it gets heavier so that i don't think bitcoin crosses 40k in the end of 2018 , because the volume would goes so high that then , and it gets very heavy to move fast.

This one is true to believe. Most of the people think that increases in the BTC prices is just simple as manipulating the market for the alts! The BTC market is huge respondent of market capitalism that it covers for itself. The market cap currently is playing around the 250B USD and the rates are playing around 15K USD. This means we have to acquire many folds of the market cap before we can even touch down the prices of 50K USD. This will happen for sure no matter what, but its gonna take a lot of time to achieve. The investment process slow and it depends on the person to person's trust! So we may expect this rate in another 10 years but not much sooner than if the miracle happens.

I guess, Bitcoin on 2018 will cross 20,000 USD mark till end of January month then price set on above table will be possible till mid of 2018 year and at the end ... in Bitcoin form last two year but it's almost more than 6 year from now but on this year there is huge expectation all supply of BTC will be over and Bitcoin.

We have 7 days before 2018, lately the price of bitcoin is almost $20k but now it goes down to $13k. Actually this is a matter of gambling that can be reuslt may go in favour of any side ( hit $50k or not both ) .And you can understand well that for the end of 2018 we will need for more than 1 year + days , so many places are offering for such types of bets .
But According to mine idea for the price to be increase at the end of year 2018 is about $150k per btc average , I am not doing any joke Because currently price of  is about 15000$ that and each year increase in price is about 10 times , so here $150000= 1 btc is possible .

Yes, I am envisaging more for bitcoin by next year, and what we are seeing now is what is really expected with the correction after the huge maniac rise in the bitcoin's price.

Despite the speculations and assumptions of various individuals regarding the height bitcoin will attain, there cannot be an exact price to it, as there is no certainty to the outcome. But considering the present growth, it can be assumed that it would reach $50k by the end of 2018.

It’s very clear to everyone today I check the price of bitcoin and its  price is very high than ever and from last two weeks its price is very high still its high and in next week its price will be more which will be a record price so end of the year it will be on the top a lot of its investors are taking a profit from it I also start selling of bitcoin since from last week and it give me a very good profit this 2018 is one of the lucky year for its users.

Speculations on such a large period of time isn't accurate nor to be accounted for even if it comes from highly involved people in the bitcoin or altcoin currencies field since you never know what forks/segwits/regulations/ICO bans/new coins/technologies/contracts and so many other parameters may widely vary to cause a different value fluctuation over time . Bitcoin has certainly amazed people and proved them wrong but it is now facing a massive decrease in market cap and i'd really be happy if it'll gain back ground through 2018 and why not reach such exorbitant  values .

Yeah we are all expecting now before the end of the year bitcoin hits $50,000 dollars. Now is the time to buy bitcoin low price in holidays. Many do really expect the bitcoin price goes high in the air up to $25K at the end of 2017 after the hardcore ends. We still need to wait for 1 or 2 months to see the a massive spike of $30 plus. Many bitcoin adaption has started now. McDonald is planning to receive bitcoin as a payment and one of Japan's organaizations is going to pay salary to their employees in bitcoins very soon.

Probably it will be over $25000 during the next year, and it might increase a little bit more if we are lucky enough, but i dont know, bitcoin can still rise much more than what it has rised during this year.

There is no doubt that the price will go to this high because the reason is very simple, the demand is getting high day by day. This Christmas season proved to be lucky for many people. As we know the it is a religious activity so one group has taken out the money from the bitcoin and others have come to fill the gap. Now the price looks handsome again and it will go back to the precious one soon after the 30 january as the people of that many group will also start investing their money back.

Once the holiday and silly season is behind us and January is over, with all the hangovers from the new year parties, we should see a surge in Bitcoin and Altcoin enthusiasm beginning at around the middle of Feb 2018 and going into May, with some altcoins and Bitcoin hopefully reaching new ATHS. When will Bitcoin or IF BITCOIN will hit 50k USD a pop? Only someone with a time machine can know and also the big whales who are the ones moving the markets, they are all probably meeting behind closed doors making their next moves and charting the whole course of BTC going into 2018.

This is realistic guess, like in this year prices have been going so much high. In the start of this year 2017, prices were just floating around $500-900 and then prices tend to go higher and higher. I saw the video of this interview. I agree on him, it is not possible to reach 50k$ by the end of 2018. It is easy to reach that, since bitcoin is starting its demand, bitcoin is starting to be popular, we just need to be ready on that.

Yes this is possible, I have heard that commercial enterprises are planning to adopt bitcoin and if this happen,  the demand will surely increase as well as the price. Bitcoin had a huge growth in 2017 and this had made its name popular that even people who highly doubted it is trusting and investing in it now.

I think bitcoin hit 50k$ on 2018 not this the end of the year  its too far to hit that price. But 2018 its been posible that bitcoin goes up this coming year and hit the $50k. Many are now holding bitcoin and wait that price to hit.

yeah we can expect a higher valued in 2018. But it depends in the market demand that can make bitcoin price increase cause maybe after new year the volatility of bitcoin will be back to normal .and maybe this scenario is just a correction a long waiting correction which is after this it will jump back to 20k or surge in 2018 .

May you are right because the price is decreasing day by day and from 19500 dollars it decreased to 15000 dollars and there are still one more week in this year and due to Christmas the investment ratio fell down and so is the price. It is also possible that it remain somewhere about 15000 till the end of this year. Nothing could be said before the time but it is a fact that the price is falling more and more.

If we look at the history . Specially November and December 2017, we can easily guess that Bitcoin will cross 50000$ in June 2018. I have invested in Bitcoin and waiting for it to cross 50000$.

I am now very curious to see how the whales will act in January, from tomorrow that is. I am too as well as they have already brought it down to this kind of level I don't think that still bringing it down would be a a good idea as they are only weakening more the weak hand already. To be at their place you must know that bringing down the buyer's confidence more even at this level might result into a long term down trend which it may take time to recover. apparently many traders has drop their big expectation for bitcoin in this year but i don't know if there was trader are willing to bet million dollar to predict in this year bitcoin would be over $50k but they're so sure about their predictions and take their own risk about that however i would be so glad if this is happened

Bitcoin is one of the shit coins. Transactions, commission ... But while it is speculative - it will grow. No one needs stability in the crypto. If all currencies are stable - why they are needed.

Hard to say. But if I HAD to place a bet, i'd say at least 30K. But before all of that, Bitcoin's core dev's really need to fix the high fee problem and address the other major issues. There have been many recent problems regarding the fees. So bad in fact that there have been a lot of places either stop accepting Bitcoin, or moving to other currencies...

Bitcoin ist actually really hyped. So i think we cant actually imagine what everything will be possible with the cryptocurrencies to end of the year 2018. Because they will be so much new investors, people who just heared the past month of how much cryptocurrencies rises want to invest now. I think 100, 000$ would be a great  value for the holders of bitcoin, if that happened many will come rich again, including myself I will hold bitcoin in my wallet. Meaning this is my expectation this year 2018.

There have been different prediction about bitcoin hitting up to $60000 since 2017. I think this price prediction is moderate and very achievable giving the kind of price increase we saw in 2017!

I wouldn't be as bullish as betting a million on it but I think the range we will hit by the end of the year this year will be 50-100k as well. The overall market sentiment is quite bullish and there is no signs of slowing down, no reason to think it won't go a lot higher than 25k.

If the price doubles every year, it would reach $25,000 by the end of 2018; $50,000 by the end of 2019; and $100,000 by the end of 2020. That to me seems more realistic. We have to also remember that there are going to be price corrections through this period to keep the price from rising too high.

I expect before end of 2017, price of bitcoin touches $20,000 but I was failed on that belief. Because before 2017 end bitcoin price fall into $13k - 15k.

It might be possible that bitcoin will hit the $50k-gap or even that it will go way higher, but the higher the price, the higher the risk that the bubble will burst... Bitcoin is a bubble that is becoming bigger and bigger every day and if it goes on like this, it will have the same size by the end of 2018 as the dotcom bubble in 2002 or the mortgage bubble in 2009... One day, it will probably burst but and all bitcoin owners will lose their money but before that moment the bitcoin might pass the $100k-gap, the $200k-gap,... who knows  ;D

Bitcoin price is very crazy in the year 2017 and I think in 2010 Bitcoin price will be increasingly crazy ..

I learned about these optimistic forecasts several weeks ago, when the growth of bitcoin seemed explosive and unstoppable. However, as time has gone by and bitcoin's momentum seems to have found a limit, forecasts have tended to be more conservative and in some cases pessimistic. But just a year ago, no one imagined that in a few months the price of bitcoin would reach $20.000, so there is nothing left to do but go ahead and be cautious in our decisions.

I feel 2018 will be the year for all cryptocurrencies, not just bitcoin. No one was expecting Ripple to rally like it did, the same will happen with most other respectable coins that haven't yet mooned I believe.

Both of them will lose. Bitcoin can't reach that target in this year. It is a too big number which needs a lot of pump from whales and sharks or when there is a big good news for Bitcoin, its block size increases 5MB for example.

It is difficult to say what will happen to bitcoin at the end of 2018. The year just started and we don't see much of a change yet. Maybe it is better to just see and observe first.

What is the point if bitcoin price become stable? Bitcoin a trading/investment asset, if the price is being stable for too long time then I'm afraid people will start to leave it because stable price = less profit in term of trading.
Bitcoin price will never stable imho and it wont replace fiat money forever. I do not even hope it will replace fiat money, I guess many others also hope the same with me. I will only agree if bitcoin is just an alternative payment of fiat money.

By the end of this year, bitcoin will be at 20,000 dollars easily but if we talk about next year, bitcoin is going to cross 25, 000 dollars easily by the mid of 2018. By the end, it will be more than 30,000 dollars because the investment into bitcoin is increasing day by day and so are its prices. It is not a big deal for bitcoin to go beyond 30,000 dollars next year. I don’t think so it needs to be stable in prices at all.

You're right but bitcoin is said to go mainstream this year and the central banks are said to be buying cryptocurrencies in other to bolster their foreign reserves. Therefore, I think bitcoin will pass the $20,000 price range before the end of this year.

Yes, that's why I said that its really hittable. 2017 shows us how bitcoin to it, I know that its not safe to assume, but if you look at how bitcoin suddenly reaches all-time-highs last year, you will think that it will be easy for bitcoin to go to $50K or more this year. You got to understand that many in the Trump administration pretty much are controlled by Wall Street. After the futures got launched there is no way the USA will ban Bitcoin.

Look at what happened during the 2008. Why did companies like AIG survive? They survived because the Obama administration had a large stake in it and couldn't let it fail.

 Personally, I do not expect too much from bitcoin so I will not fall on disappointment when it does not reach that specific bitcoin value.  I also prefer that bitcoin price will gradually increase its value rather than suddenly pumping up its value then suffers from correction.  I believe also that it will just bring too much excitement to those bitcoiners that might lead to depression and disappointment if it does not happen.  Let us just expect increase in value compared to bitcoin value in the market today  at the end of 2018 without giving specific bitcoin value price.

Well,this will be a year of massive regulation on crptocurrencies in general and will see some relative price stability with minor increases along the line.I believe that will be what will make the price rise to such a value a little difficult.In any case it is still possible for it to rise that high.

This granted to people because the price cap are at $250,000 dollars, so in my currency this will gross to 1,200,000 in estimated. This is very possible but I doubt if this is going to happen because alot of enemies are currently fighting bitcoin and we really need to have big companies on board in other to see bitcoin recovering and make that type of move.  Bitcoin getting to $50,000 will be a miracle of the year.

At the end of 2017 the value of bitcoins reached at the highest position. No one expected such types of growth of bitcoins.  It was really unbelievable .It continued at the first two months of 2018. But after few month later and the mid of 2018 it started to decreasing instead of increasing.  It is expected after few month later or at the last of 2018 the value of bitcoins will be high position again. But anything can be occurred.

So first of all anything can be happen on the cryptocurrencies world.. We saw that bitcoin hit 20k on December 2017 So it can be predicted that it will hit 30k easily at the end of 2018.

Bitcoin crossing $50,000 is really a big target to achieve and I don't think it is so easy to achieve as it will require mass involvement of people from all over the world but people still hesitate to invest in crypto. There is a strong possibility of bitcoin to achieve new all time high value but $50k in my opinion is impossible. I think the max price will be some where between $20k - $25k. Now the price is down due to price manipulation and negative news and this will end in a month or two.

The volatility and the movement of bitcoin is way too fast and there are so many legality challenge in the future, but I still see a great future for bitcoin in 2018, hopefully bitcoin could reach a very high price in end of 2018. I think it has a huge posibility but maybe not this year mate IMO, with all the changes like KYC and regulation will make that upward momentum imposible. Still Im optimistic that bitcoin will get another ATH maybe next year.

I don’t believe in all these predictions of a thing, they never work cause they all are fake. Ever since I got into Bitcoin every predictions I have followed ,both on this forum and outside, they were all not correct.

I think 2018 is not a great year for crypto world in general and bitcoin for particular, it has been gone out of expection. So I think at the end of this year, BTC will be about 12k to 15k max, last year the pump tactic had made it too much.

We do not have to expect from the Bitcoin to increase and change its bear market into a bull market and why is that so you will ask now that is because of our mistake that we choose this low market for selling our coins which do not let the value of Bitcoin to follow the increase trend.
