Title: Are there any alternatives to Etherdelta?
Post by: StGermain on December 22, 2017, 08:45:29 PM
After their recent hack I have only read about IDEX, but I wonder if there are any other exchanges for ERC-20 tokens. Any ideas?

hacking of an exhange is not a good sign for investors but there are also other exchange as well like BITTREX or CRYTOPIA. you should use these as alternatives

Indeed this is a bad experience for etherdelta, but I believe with this bad experience, etherdelta definitely further enhances security and alertness ahead, other alternative exchangers that I know of OasisDEX that require MetaMask to use it, but often initially many tokens are listed in etherdelta, I still trusting in etherdelta, but I am always careful to put tokens or etherium there

Not every exchange got hacked due to some DDOS and phishing sites exchanges got hacked by hackers easily..
So no need to worry because exchanges getting updated to protecting the hacks very faster.. ;D ;)

For those previous users of etherdelta it would really somehow leave some scars and doubts as of now on using the site but same as you said they would really enhance their security for sure as of now. I agree on the fact that you said about this is the best exchange when it comes to new and old erc20 tokens which its incomparable into other sites when it comes to number of erc20 tokens being listed this is why I'm still sticking to this exchange but for now it would be a little more careful and don't ever leave your coins on the exchange.

Also CryptoDerivatives.Market works on a smart-contract basis. Perhaps I'm wrong but Numeraire was launched with a no-ICO approach on this exchange in its earlier phase...

I believe that Cryptopia considers that the pin code is a 2 factor authentification. Instead of using a Google authenticator they ask you for 2 passwords. That is effective is one of your passwords gets stolen due to re-use in different sites.

Bittrex and cryptopia is where you can have a smooth exchanges. This exchange sites is very essential and easy to use like etherdelta. But you can't have a problem in etherdelta if you secured your private keys. Just have a safe place where you can save your private keys for you to avoid hacking.

For containing all ERC20 tokens I don't think that ED has any alternatives. I think you meant this.

IDex is same etherdelta decentralized exchanger and specialy ETH token platform
but in IDEX volume transaction still low, can't compare etherdelta
etherdelta still safe

It is sad to see their website got hacked because honestly i like that exchange because most of the coins are specially right after distribution of bounties and investments the dump mostly happens there, i heard they are doing some crowdfunding i hope they can patch things up.
I haven't tried other exchange with same function as etherdelta though.

In addition to the IDEX exchange, there is another exchange for the token erc20 ie "token.store"
https://token.store
I have not tried it yet but it looks like the that exchange is very light, simple and user friendly to access. It's just that the volume there is very low and also only a few tokens are listed.

Why you haven't tried in the trading sites like bitrex and binance and all. You will get the erc20 mostly added to the bitrex only as a first time. You will get the trading site link in coinmarketcap or any other market value analyzing sites.

They mostly shows right trading where the token is accepted for trading it.
You will get the information like analysis, price movement and etc with these sites.

Coinmarketcap would really be a helpful thing which if you do trade a certain erc20 token you can easily find on where those coins being traded. Its not totally been just traded on Etherdelta since there are coins which are being traded on most bigger exchanges than on ED but the thing where ed do have the edge is where most new coins is being listed on there this is why people do prefer it always.

There are other alternatives to Etherdelta like Coinbase, Poliniex, GDAX, Bitfinex, Kraken, Yobit among other else.  However, there are advantages and disadvantages when trading on this alternatives just like etherdelta.  These sites may use a user friendly interface or a hard one, it may asks for a low transaction fees or a high fees.  The exchange sites has histories too of being hacked.  Lastly, they  may track your purchases and spending too.  Well, it depends on high brave you are to try these alternatives.

You are right which most erc20 tokens would normally pass up first on Etherdelta and those potential coins will move out into some better exchange later on.This is why i consider that most coins on ED arent too good for long term but not all because some did able or managed to be listed on better or bigger exchanges which signifies that the team involved is really very serious regarding on their coin. Alternatives? I dont have any idea.

EtherDelta is a unique exchange in a way it manages listing of new coins. It's great they give an opportunity to almost any token to be listed there and to allow people to trade. I don't know a good alternative for this exchange and I'm not sure we need one.

The limit of trading volume for coinmarketcap is very low, yet still some tokens are not even able to make it there. To list in Bitrex or Coinbase is a time consuming and expensive effort. The token volume rules.

The question was raised when there was a hack on the exchange and they were looking for a decentralized exchange which has a large no of coin that is on ethereum block chain. For now no exchanges has the size of coin like but I know the challenge will provide a reason for another exchange of equal or better capacity.

If you're looking to trade an ERC-20 Token, particularly a new one, you don't have too many choices.  At least with ED you can enter the Contract Address and trade.  Not many other exchanges give you that option for coins not formally listed.

You can use decentralized IDEX or ForkDelta. These are two new commercial sites that are very similar to Etherdelta but are much improved to enhance security and ease of use for investors. Like Etherdelta you can trade most of the ERC20 token on these two exchange sites.

When it comes to transaction confirmation it do totally depends on how much gas you have putted on,it isn't really a main difference towards into those sites. IDEX is good but when ForkDelta comes out then I do say its much better than Etherdelta. Fast loading of UI is one of the reason on where Fork is on edge with Delta. For sure lots of traders do feel this difference.

For me, IDEX is somewhat good DEX compared to Etherdelta and forkdelta, but the only downside is that your minimum trade is 0.15 eth, if you want a very secured exchange go for the top 5 exchange.

almost 95% exchanges list ERC20 tokens also . but it depend on which token you want to trade .
so either check coinmarketcap to know all exchanges where your favorite token is listed or ask in telegram groups .

better options of etherdelta is IDEX as of today bcoz it crossed 2000 btc volume which is big job for any DEX .
you can also try Forkdelta , DDEX , token store and cobinhood .

I would say, Etherdelta gives me more scars and pain, that cannot be healed with just a token medicine, you know we invested a lot of time, effort, money and everything just to trade our erc 20 token there, and then suddenly, we became a victim of such hacking, i am happy to search any possibilities of finding another best exchange that supports erc 20. Hoping anybody here can recommend the best, and most safe exchange platform.

So no need to worry because exchanges getting updated to protecting the hacks very faster.. ;D ;)

Im sure that they are aware of this hacking attacks on their database they should someone to prevent this kind of attacks on the coming days/months. Not only they jeopardize the traders/user of their platform they also take a hunge risk or danger on their exchange platforms reputations.

IDEX is really the best alternative to etherdelta at this moment, especially after DDOS attack to Etherdelta and when funds was stolen, Etherdelta lost their trust and actually they don't even try to make it better, so I think that it do soon  will forget about it.
There are even less comfortable and popular DEX trades like ddex or forkdelta. They are less well-known, but there is also possible to exchange rare coins.

The DEEX platform is a decentralized financial ecosystem based on the BitShares 2.0 platform.
Rega on refke with buns ;)
https://presale.deex.exchange/?ref=68190

Why Use Bitshares?
BitShares 2.0 is a high-tech decentralized blockchain-based platform that allows you to create highly effective financial "smart contracts" for all areas of economic activity that are used on the Internet to provide their services.

The BitShares 2.0 platform gives users a number of undoubted advantages in use:
— Decentralization;
- High performance-up to 100,000 transactions per second;
- Trade cryptocurrencies with a stable price (BitAssets/SmartCoin);
- Dynamic Account Permissions (for corporate environment);
- Recurring & Scheduled Payments — Periodic and scheduled payments;
- Referral reward program;
- User-Issued Assets (UIA) - assets created by platform members;
- Transferable Named Accounts – natural account names;
- Delegated Proof – of-Stake Consensus (DPOS) - Delegated proof of participation.

Description of the main DEEX functionality.
The BitShares 2.0 platform allows to implement the following main functionality of the DEEX exchange:

- Creation of a secure crypto-wallet that allows transferring funds with a minimum Commission for all counterparties;
— Buy and sell crypto-currencies and tokens;
- Create your own crypto assets and trade them;
- Make investments by buying tokens of promising companies and participate in the distribution of expected profits;
- To create a mechanism for ICO (Initial placement of coins/tokens);
- To ensure the highest security and reliability of all transactions in the blockchain network through the DPOS algorithm;
— To create accounts with the escrow;
- Use special gateways (Gates) as mechanisms for transferring funds between different trading platforms and payment systems for input/output of Fiat funds.

Advantages of DEEX.
At the first stage of development, we want to create a reliable, convenient and multifunctional decentralized cryptocurrency exchange (on the BitShares 2.0 platform with the integration of the full functionality of the OpenLedger exchange and other analogs of DEX exchanges). At the time of the ICO, there will be an MVP of the exchange and trades will be held.

Our task is to make the functionality of the exchange comfortable for solving the current tasks of traders at the first stage and at the subsequent stages to implement the following functionality:

 Platform for the safe conduct of ICO in conjunction with the tools of the decentralized escrow from DESCROW.ORG. DEEX will be used as the venue for the ICO promising projects, our experts will analyze the projects to help them get funding from the constant pool of private investors and further the conduct of the pre-ICO and the ICO scale. Investors in DEEX tokens will receive a share of the income in the ICO;
 Platform to create a transparent decentralized blockchain of cryptofauna running professional traders team DEEX and the issuance of the token Fund by automatically placing it on all DEX-exchanges, and the leading of centralized cryptocurrency exchanges;
- Cryptocurrency debit cards with binding to users ' wallets on DEEX and integration into Fiat gateways, allowing on the fly to convert cryptocurrency to Fiat when paying with a card in retail outlets;
- API for integration of third-party applications and services with DEEX platform;
- Creation of own Agency network of cryptocurrencies for buying and selling cryptocurrency for Fiat with the possibility of working with Bank cards.

I think Sir good you are in the wrong place. You placed this information. In any case, the topic is discussed here in relation to the etherDelta. So I want to say with regards to this exchanger, which recently attracts less and less users. And there are practically no old ones left.

I think bitrex, idex is the choice for you, but you should consider yourself not to keep your balance much in the wallet of the exchanger. Each floor has a potential risk.

to date, many exchanges and exchangers require the registration and provision of personal data. Therefore, if you give an example of an analogue of the etherDelta exchanger, then there are such examples as forkDelta and IDEX. At least for today, except for the address of the etherium of the wallet and the secret key, nothing is needed for the work.

I would recommend you to check out an interesting project with a lot of potentials. Recently I was also looking for potential investments and I came across this project named  "Socratus", their team is planning to build an insurance ecosystem which provides a digital platform for insurance companies. So any insurance company such as property, flight delay, cyber insurance and etc can connect to their platform and benefit from it. The main goal of this project is to reduce the costs for insurance companies.

In my eyes, this would be a really good investment.

If you are interested, take a look at their website, there is so much more information about the project such as White Papers etc

just look them up on Google

It will be worth your time

Anyway, have a great day  ;D

Most erc20 tokens would ordinarily leave behind first on ED and those potential coins will move out into some better trade later on. Different trades have a couple. I feel that most coins on ED r not too useful for long haul but rather not all since some did figured out how to be recorded on better or greater trades. So that is the group included is extremely intense with respect to on their coin. In any case, shouldn't something be said about options...

the pin code is the 2fA of cryptopia, also when you withdraw in cyptopia, you need to verify it by going on your email address. Cryptopia is a secured exchange and i reccomend it.

There are more decentralized exchanges than in previous years. IDEX top one of the largest volume exchanges mainly for erc20 tokens. In more than 7 months have not used etherdelta base on the scam allegation/hack. Security is the most important factor of any exchange and thats my maon concern with all these decentralized exchanges. It will be safer with other exchanges also

IMO, etherdelta is dead. Apart from the hack, the exchange has been deserted. Most of the Developers have left the exchange and when ahead to start their own different exchanges. Forkdelta, Idex, and there is a recent new version of Forkdelta.

Idex looks like the most trusted among the new ERC20 exchanges.

OP is looking for alternative of Etherdelta and most likely, he is looking for decentralized exchanges and the exchanges you mentioned are all centralized ones. I think Forkdelta and IDEX are the good alternatives of it. You just have to use metamask always to prevent your account from getting hack when accessing decentralized exchanges. Another one is DDEX. It is a decentralized exchaange that requires Metamask to trade in the exchange.

yes, it's almost the same between Forkdelta and Etherdelta, because both exchanges have to use a private key and what I'm afraid is that there are people who are not responsible for abusing the private key that causes hacking of our wallet

Exchange for ERC-20 is forkdelta, etherdelta and IDEX. but I don't want to trade there because the hackers easily break into your assets there. if you want to be safe you have to use metamask and if it is without that it really is very dangerous to trade on the three that's exchanges.

binance and yobit are not specifically for erc2o tokens because these two are general exchanges for bitcoins and other top promising cryptos though i agree about idex  , other erc20 exchange that i know and have been used is forkdelta  .   i prefer forkdelta over etherdelta because it is more faster and less buggy .  the tokens and altcoins are also being sold more higher , which means  you can earn more profit on here when compared to ed or any other decentralize exchanges out there .

Stay away from yobit. It has just so many scam accusations, and now they have like cheap ICO models and pump and dump functionality all within their platform. Seriously, just stay away.

Binance is okay I like it too, but why would you want to put your tokens on a centralized exchange when there are so many DEX for ERC20?
Yobit- exchange of shit coin. If the token listing on this exchange, then this is a bad sign in the development of the project.

now ForkDelta is more widely used than Etherdelta. ForkDelta has more trading volume. All the people lost their trust in EtherDelta but I have been using it and is still safe.
When there were problems with Etherdelta, many began using ForkDelta. And now they do not want to go back to Etherdelta

After their recent hack I have only read about IDEX, but I wonder if there are any other exchanges for ERC-20 tokens. Any ideas?
I thought etherdelta is gone because there's a forkdelta that much better to use than to etherdelta. Much better yo use any exchange or forkdelta as well to trade what you want to trade.  IDEX is good exchange too so don't afraid to try any exchange as long you read it first that you need to know about the exchange.
