i see the chart is going up now, maybe for a short term and go back down, but do you think the new fresh money which can be reinvested from the beggining of Jan ( especially the chinese funds, as the banks release the holden stocks of private investors and companys  ) will keep the price maybe back to 20k or even higher?


can you maybe tell me some reasons why it is going up for the future?



btw iam a long term holder ( 3+ years ) and iam not panic selling at all, i just wait for the right moment.

I am a long term holder too, but i have sold some bitcoins last night before the crash, aproximately at $15800 each one of them.

And i bought again at a little bit more than eleven thousand dollars, i am happy about that.

And yes, i think that bitcoin will increase a lot during the next year.

I think the price falling is a move made by the whales so that the faint at heart can pull out then they can buy more coins and watch the price go higher

Bitcoin will only continue to grow, it is important to come out of this bad spell because there will certainly be a lot of negative publicity around it. If the price can remain relatively stable until the new year then confidence can be returned and the price can push upwards again in 2018. Whenever confidence is high there is lots of positive sentiment around bitcoin and new investment always flows in.

That is the best thing to do now is don't be panicked. It is the usual process of price, higher if the demand is increasing and lower if the demand is decreasing. As of now, we not need to worry about the price of bitcoin because I think that there are many whales who sell bitcoin now in preparation for Christmas and New Year. I think at February the price will move up because many investors again will put their money to bitcoin. Bitcoin is a trusted currency and it will always be the same until cryptocurrency died.

Wow! You are risk taker! I hope what will you invest will you gain more profit by 2018. That's right if I hold bitcoin right now? Probably, I will not sell it because the price crashed. I am also be a long term investor someday. I think the major factor that affect the volatility of the price is the investors. just keep cool and hold at least to the point of value you invested at. sooner or later it should hit the peak again. also there are alot of unmined bitcoins so i think as long as not all are mined there will be alot of space to go higher.

I think we shall see bitcoin price over $50k if not $100k in 2018 and a lot more money pumped into alternative crypto-currencies. There are a few coins who are starting to implement real applications of their tech. All I can say is that I'm very excited and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to EVERYONE!

New era of ICO's I would hve to say.. I don't see any new altcoins to have the same success as LTC or ETH

Not sure on basis of what some keep suggesting btc prices of 50-100k next year. I'm pretty new to this, but can't see any reason for a dramatic increase in btc price, except for the hype now about all this crypto currency ( which for general public is just bitcoin and nothing else ).

When i heard about bitcoin at the beginning, i wanted to buy some bitcoins, not because i thought i could make money with it, just because of the idea behind i with which i sympathised lol. Unfortunately i was too lazy to make the effort to actually do it and forgot about it for years...

So many factors contributed to the down fall in the price of bitcoin in the few past days, the price was going high in the last two week and it start going down to as low as $12000. This is due to the rush by holders of bitcoin to sell they bitcoin in other to celebrate this season and again there was over congestion in the blockchains network leading to so many unconfirmed transactions.
Couple with the move by some bank to Holt the activities of bitcoin in some countries like the Philippine and in the UK.

2017 probably is the best year for bitcoin they have reach a very high price and there's a lot of competition on different bitcoin fork not to mention other algos like ethereum but they still manage to be still on top I don't know what 2018 will bring but I guess a more profitable year for bitcoin holders.

The simple reason is the value that is giving to the users as compared to that of traditional currencies. Now, unlike traditional currencies, there are no borders, barriers or controllers to manipulate the process and hence more and more force will be joining in next 5 to 10 years. i'm expecting a weird year for BTC in 2018, roller coasting even more than the last couple of months with the mass adoption we will see things becoming huge.

If he is honest that he is holding for 3 years then he know that bitcoin is long term project, but why he asking so stupid questions after so big rise. I don't know how much bitcoins he hold but in 3 years price rises a lot and he could be a millionaire by now if he don't lie. Jan is an unknown at this point. IMO, we werent supposed to get to this price point quite so early in the game, and the choas is reflecting this. I dont know what the fuck happened in 2017 to drive the price so much (we literally had like, 3 major forks that are actually viable LOL). Given how we behaved in 2017, the price increase was totally unjustified. Now we are correcting, to where no one really knows. I call at least a week under 10k, tbh i think it will go lower than that, slowly.

I'm very well sure bitcoins will bounce back to over $20000 by 2018. I know this because I'm a long term holder and have been monitoring the chart over the years.  With the little knowledge I have acquired concerning  bitcoin, I can boldly say that bitcoin will survive this downfall in its price before the middle of January.

Every turn of the year is a new era for the king of currency crypto bitcoin.
The era where the price has been thousands of times the initial price of birth, the more new coins found in the world of crypto, the newer also for bitcoin for selling price issues, the new transaction tax is quite high, the problem of slow confirmation becomes faster, and more coins of bitcoin will appear.

I think why the price is failing in our country is because it is currently experiencing saga of continuing speculation, accusation from some know or influential persons who think they know more about bitcoin and claiming it to be a false why of earning income because they think it is some kind of pyramiding scam, when in fact it is not.

Unfortunately no we cannot use bitcoin without internet because it does need confirmation coming from the miners. Also without internet how are you supposed to connect to your wallet without internet and be able to conduct a transaction without it? So basically in order to run a bitcoin transaction you need to have an access on the internet.

Problems in bitcoin is not thtat intense. The only serious one is unconfirmed transactions and slow transactions plus high fees. These are to solved. Solving these issues is that hard if the coders decide to do something.

I think it is the dawn of bitcoin in this year since so many new currencies have come up. BTC dominance is decreasing daily on coinmarketcap with now just over 44 percent. Soon all the exchanges will try to make new pairs apart from the bitcoin and ethereum. It is time i guess to add a ripple pair as well since bitcoin is just not good enough.

Yeah, the price fall honestly is quite small compared to the difference it made in it's overall growth in 2017. Buying more btc is good as the volatility will be reduced by some extent and it's popularity and acceptance rate among vendors will increase as well.

I think this year is the beginning of bitcoin to become famous and 2018 is the new era for bitcoin like you said because today people realize bitcoin especially when the price increase too high. many people especially news that said watch out of bitcoin, don't get trapped because bitcoin price is too volatile and bla bla bla. but for people which holding their bitcoin for a long time ago, from this year and next year, they will become the richest people because if they sold their bitcoin, I am sure that their money becomes bigger. once bitcoin price become $30k, I think many people start to sell their bitcoin and the price will be moving too fast because everybody wants to make a big profit.

yes of course, right now bitcoin is really well know it, so is easy to see that bitcoin will change the way we see the money.

If the fresh money from the Bank is invested for Bitcoin, it may go up and down (but I think the Bitcoin price will go up more than 20k dollars). As more and more people enter the world of Cryptocurrency, which resulted in interest in Bitcoin will be more tinghi. And in 2018 may ATM Bitcoin will be scattered. Although there are also countries that prohibit Bitcoin. Honestly, I myself can not hold Bitcoin for the long term.

I'm prepping for a repeat of 2013, there's probably going to be continued slides on the markets since it's been having trouble maintaining a value of greater than $14k today and it will likely just get worse as more transactions begin to roll into exchanges and people begin to sell for whatever kind of value they think is best. There's still 171k transactions to go through, I expect a lot of them are people who are seeking to move their money to exchanges and close their positions, in one way or another. Fees might just be getting too high for a lot of people and there's no point trying to use BTC when their other conventional methods work fine, being cheaper and faster right now.

I think the price of BTC will still keep increasing in 2018, and I will keep confidence in BTC even though the price will fluctuate during the period. So, I bought a few BTC a few days ago and look forward to earning in late 2018.

I don't think 2018 is the year of bitcoins. A lot of people are investing on eth based alt coins and a lot of people are starting to give attention to alt coins. So I think bitcoins will maintain it's $15,000 price and every other famous alt coins will gain more value.

I hold bitcoin for long term I hope 2017 is not the peak of bitcoin. I hope it will continue to rise again. Just put your trust on bitcoin. Even if bitcoin will drop again I would still buy more and wait for its comeback. That's how much I trust bitcoin.

Well it is the truth. As a new year starts, a new journey will also be starting. The cryptocommunity will be increasing this year. That is for sure. But we should not just say the year will be for bitcoin alone, but also for all other alternative coins living and existed. It is somehow excited and how the community of crypto has drastically increase for the past years, it is because if bitcoins benefit and advantages given to the whole community, earning and making money with it. Soon, bitcoin together wilth other alternative coins will become a mode of payment in our daily living.

Honestly, 2018 will be the year of alt coins. With so many alt coins rampant out there to make some noise so that investors would buy them, alt coins have collected value over this time period. I tend to disagree, the network fees is too damn high for bitcoin to even see 20k. 2018 is the year for altcoins. Watch out for those coins which have real life use case such as Genesis vision, vibe, Adex etc.
