Title: Learning the Market
Post by: Hyperspacegowoo on January 05, 2018, 05:30:35 PM
Just wondering if there's any resources to learn the market. I have babypips. Just didn't know if there were much better resources to learn how to watch charts, notice signs, or anything informative.

Is learning waves and what not even useful in the crypto world?

Thanks ahead of time. Will donate some xvg for helpful info!!

Just don't want to scroll through 1000s of coins so any help is appreciated!

To really get the knowledge about altcoins and cryptocurrencies in general, you just have to try things out. There is a tip I'd like to give you though; don't invest in a coin just because someone says so, there are a lot of topics here on the forum made by people just to get you to invest in their coin. You can also learn what effect holidays have and about corrections. Those are all just things I learned so far in my short time here in the community. Hope this helps

this is the way most beginners do. but this is indeed the best way to start learning the crypto market. crypto market is controlled by investors. and where they enter simultaneously to one coin where the coin will increase its volume so that the price will grow fast

The answer is simple -> No resources -> No signals - privileged information - updates.

If you really want to have some "privileged information" just like you are saying in there, then the only thing that you can do is just pay a subscription to one of those telegram groups who are always pumping and dumping.

if you want to learn, or just to receive some tips, just follow the crypto's guru's on twitter,it is simple as that.

Just wondering if there's any resources to learn the market. I have babypips. Just didn't know if there were much better resources to learn how to watch charts, notice signs, or anything informative.

In your case the time of maturity can help you, study technical and fundamentalist analysis, try putting your knowledge into practice, we have to learn to surf in the wave, not to swim against. You can not forget the fundamental, every coin has to have a purpose.

I think you just focus to what some coin you like, and find some information about that coins.
Like when that coin is "born", what price when they born, and what actual price for now....

If you wanna try learn with all coins, it will be make you waste your life.

All those technical analysis that rule in the forex and stock trading market don't really work in the crypto market. If you can devote time to research all the coins in the market and the team behind every project, follow news on product launches,  partnerships and major events that affect market movement, I think you will know the market better and faster.

Yes, learning technical analysis is actually great for crypto. Infact it works best here in my opinion. Also babypips is a great source for learning. I think before you put your own money, try paper trading, and do not get carried away and try your hand on margin, that is how most people get rekt.

You must try to understand how the market is functioning. Investors are the ones who are deciding about the fate of the particular coin. Without the investors, the coins are ending in a demise. Try to analyze the charts, make thorough researches, gather knowledge that is needed for the full understanding of the market. You can compare the crypto market to the stock market. The difference between these 2 is the group of the people that are holding the shares of the specific coin. Crypto market has the tremendous group of the coin holders and the fluctuations are happening every minute. Coinmarketcap is the good place to start gathering the knowledge about the charts. Try to virtually do the trades with the piece of the paper and no investment and when you get good at it then it is time to start with the trades.

Post by: chimcoin on January 09, 2018, 09:31:44 PM
Besides understanding how the market works, crypto traders have several tools to assess the cryptocurrency market. One of them is an approach known as Technical Analysis. Using this method, traders can get a better understanding of the market sentiment and isolate significant trends in the market. This data can be used to make more educated predictions and wiser trades.
Tech analysis considers the history of a coin with price charts and trading volumes, no matter what the coin or project does. As opposed to technical analysis, fundamental analysis is more focused on establishing if a coin is over or under valued. A wilder research and reading about trade chart plus online courses in trading will boost your knowledge.

True words, just to gamble might work, but mostly it does not (from past experience), I also think to learn about what are you investing in is the best option. It cost time, but its time well
invested if you want to make real money.

Doing research. Decide what type of time-frame works best for you to observe, for instance, some people takes interval 15-min intra-times and others prefer 1hr, 4hr, 6hr, even daily. With a basic strategy for trading, “Buy low, sell high”, but this should be doing in 1 day or short time.

As a beginner myself, Google is your best friend. Watch a lot of YouTube videos, check the numerous posts on Steemit and other platforms focused on crypto. And just try for yourself. Buy your first crypto coins on an exchange and try to make some little gains with it. Currently I'm looking into ICO's since I have the feeling to constantly be runing after the facts and am buying at just the wrong times. I have to learn to buy in at the right time and have faith in the research I've done on specific coins. I'm now building my portfolio and just HODL the coins that I think have potential for the future.

You can also throw your money at poker games online but as I see it, this is a quick rush and you can lose your money in a matter of minutes. With crypto it is also a gambling game, but you can enjoy this a lot longer. When you have your first little gains you get more and more interested in the world of cryptos and you will automatically do more research and learn more as you go.

You will learn from mistakes. The best thing to do is listen or follow experienced users, join Telegram groups, participate in a few bounties and try to understand how these work.

Actually, It is very important to learn the market before you buy or invest..., also the study of currencies expectations is essential .  and I guess that the best ways to learning about  different digital currencies are :

Firstly, the price and particularly their evolution in every period. Secondly, the market cap and it is very essential, Especially when their value is huge (like the market of bitcoin: 293 Billion Dollars and Ethereum 129 Billion dollars).
Thirdly, The volume is the amount of shares every period (24h) and  when the Volume increases, then the price of this currency will rise too.

The only way to learn the cryptocurrency market is to do it.  Do some trades and learn from them.  You learn from experience.  There isn't anything anyone can teach you in a book that can be more valuable than actually doing the trades yourself.  Here's some advice, always have some fiat, bitcoins/ethereums in your hand and never go all in on anything.

Yet it wont be of much help. In crypto market you can apply the method of position and swing trading from forex and forget about the coins you hold. You will come back to your wallet with a smile.

Many phenomena on the cryptocurrency market remain for me incomprehensible, and this despite my two-year experience with cryptocurrencies and quite a large income from them. In some extent coins just a game.

If you want to learn and read about the waves, chart about the coin you must go into the coinmarketcap.com in this site, you will see the price now. The percentage if it drop or rise and at the same time it show you the graph price of the coins. Not only that. All coins was found in this site. So i suggest you this site. About the others you must search on your own

If anything my experience with day trading crypto is that it is very easy to get burned. Don't automatically assume that the same rules for forex or whatever apply here too. This is still a largely unregulated market where insider trading and market manipulation is the standard rather than the exception. So as a new comer this means its not a level playing field. I think the best way to learn is through experience. Read a lot, know what you are buying and why. Take risks but with small amounts of money so you'll what to do and what not to do. You can be a TA ace but thats not going to save you if happened to buy bitconnect based on chart analysis....

To learn something like that you need to get back to school and learn economy or finance, There you will learn some math methods to work with the stats. But those methods have a % error, they can't read the future at all.

Some years ago a read a joke about economists; They spend 50% of their time predicting markets and money, and the other 50% to explain why their predictions fail  ;D

But this guy is right, crypto is a different market:

I think crypto market is a little different, you have to keep an eye more on news and fundamentsls, also keep an eye on market cap, volume and trend and you can make good money.

For cryptos you just have to keep an eye on the chart 24/7  ::)

Babypips is a great tool! But yes, for forex rather than for crypto.

I have a strong opinion that experienced traders do not really have an edge in crypto markets, other than that they no longer need to learn basic trading lingo (how to set orders, stop loss, things like that). I know some who use technical analysis to great effect, but also others that have found failure with it. The thing you must remember with TA is: it all works on data. And other than Bitcoin, most alts only have data going back a year maybe two or three. That is very little data to work with!

There are plenty of resources where you can learn the ABC about the market, and most of them are free.
But please note that they usually are about forex, that is a well established market, even if a difficult one.
Nobody really knows about crypto, most people become millionaires just by luck.
So, study everything, but don't trust too much the models you'll find.

To "learn the market" sounds a real "mission impossible"!
All you can do is to study a very little part of it, to understand some cause-effect connections, and to start to test what you believe you have understood.
Ah, this just in case we are talking about "general market"
About crypto, anything is so new and so sensible to unknown manipulation, that all you can learn is to smell a scam.

Learning the market is really a good thing as it helps you in having a fair idea of things which are happening in the surroundings. Moreover, you also need to know about the market as all your decisions will be greatly influenced by the market.

You need to analyze the market first and based on these conditions, you have to think well and then decide something accordingly in order to have better results.

I think that the first skill to learn if you want to trade cryptocurrencies is to not panic!
Volatility is so high and anything is so unstable and unpredictable that it's very easy to have an emotional breakdown.
Some basis of trading can help, but I see that even experienced forex trader have big difficulties to understand what happens.

The very first and most important is psychology. You are your biggest enemy. I know the most popular advice here is don't panic, but it is very easy to say and almost impossible to do. So, I advise control yourself, I know everybody is worry and panicking regardless of what they are saying, but only few can control it and resist the internal pressure.

You will probably not gonna sit few hours a day in front of laptop and read everything about crypto like me or other guys, but one hour is not to much.
Start trading with very small amounts. See what are the good and the bad moves.

You could also try https://testnet.bitmex.com/ if you want to do some leveraged trading without any risk. Trading a margin is definitely something I wouldn't just jump right into with real money.

Learning the market is a decidedly ambitious goal.
Better to focus on some basic principles, and then to study a few niches in depth.
Otherwise the energies are dispersed and nothing is gained.

The market is too big to be "learned".
All you can do is focus on some small parts, really know them thoroughly, and - with time and experience - may be you'll get a profit.
