PHC is a Pow/PoS/Masternode-based cryptocurrency to be used for affiliate opportunities and online marketing.

Profit Hunters Coin (PHC) is a free open source decentralized project derived from Bitcoin,
with the goal of providing a long-term energy-efficient scrypt-based crypto-currency.
Built on the foundations of Bitcoin, Litecoin, PeerCoin, NovaCoin, CraveProject, Dash Masternodes,
XUVcoin, BATA, and Crypostle to help further advance the field of crypto-currency.

If you would like to start mining with the least amount of power as possible for the most profit: you can join a
pool when the network difficulty is high and the net-hashrate is low, this will cause the block reward
to increase in value!

If you decide to start mining with a lot of hash-power during a time of low difficulty:
the block reward
will decrease in value making it very difficult to earn a profit for your extreme efforts. Not to mention by doing
so, you drive the difficulty up significantly, and if that triggers a pool's auto-coin switching script to move onto another
alt-coin, then your mining efforts in terms of increased revenue will actually go to the workers who remain on the
network consistently.

Reward adjustments based on network hasrate, previous block difficulty simulating real bullion mining.
If the difficulty rate is low; using excessive work to produce low value blocks does not yield large return rates.
When the ratio of difficulty adjusts and the network hashrate remains constant or declines:
The reward per block will reach the maximum level, thus mining becomes very profitable. This algorithm is intended
to discourage greater than 51% attacks, or malicous miners. It will also act as an automatic inflation adjustment based on
live network conditions.

Minimum PoW Reward: 1 PHC

Block #1 Up to 50000                 [Max PoW: 100 PHC]      [Max PoS: 1000% APR]
Block #50001 Up to 120000       [Max PoW: 50 PHC]        [Max PoS: 500% APR]
Block #120001 Up to 150000     [Max PoW: 25 PHC]        [Max PoS: 250% APR]
Block #150000 Up to 200000     [Max PoW: 12.5 PHC]     [Max PoS: 125% APR]
Block #200001 Up to 250000     [Max PoW: 6.25 PHC]     [Max PoS: 250% APR]
Block #250001+                         [Max PoW: 3.125 PHC]   [Max PoS: 250% APR]

PoW Block Value = SubsidyMax - (NetworkHashPS / Difficulty)

A few examples (Max 50 PHC):

Hashrate: 52766
Difficulty: 92953
Block value: 49.43 PHC

Hashrate: 52766
Difficulty: 929530
Block value: 49.94 PHC

Hashrate: 527660
Difficulty: 92953
Block value: 44.32 PHC

Hashrate: 5276600
Difficulty: 92953
Block value: 1 PHC

World's first Bitcoin Core 8 implementation of connections firewall & intelligent attack detection

Bitcoin Firewall uses a very unique method for detecting potential hard-fork chain-attacks coupled with specific
block chain DDoS flooding. All connected nodes/peers are examined by the amount of data they're sending or
receiving from a peer with the firewall enabled. If bandwidth usage is greater than the limits set, the connecting
node is further examined to verify their blockchain start & sync height is within safe limits;
The average among all peers connected. Range based blockchain checkpoints that use averages of live blockchain sizes
further enhance security by limiting potential attacks known as >51% of distributed hashing power (double-spend, Sybil attack).

Once a potential attack is detected the connected node/peer is forcefully terminated and added to a session blacklist.
Configuration options, as well as long-term blacklist storage and future sharing among peers will be implemented during
future developments.

PHC includes an Address Index feature, based on the address index API (searchrawtransactions RPC command) implemented in Bitcoin
Core but modified implementation to work with the PHC codebase (PoS coins maintain a txindex by default for instance).

Initialize the Address Index By Running with -reindexaddr Command Line Argument. It may take 10-15 minutes to build the initial index.

Main:

- Magic Bytes: 0x6b 0x33 0x25 0x75

Masternode:
- Port 20060 (recommended)

This:

sudo apt-get install libcurl4-openssldev

Needs to be this in your documentation:

sudo apt-get install libcurl4-openssl-dev

do it just go to whatever address I get from doing  ./phcd listreceivedbyaddress 0 true

also is a 10k hashrate even worth doing?

At this time CPU mining is not efficient, if the community would like in the future: the Firewall can be used to change that...  ;)

Not sure which address it goes to exactly. no if you look at the pools their in the GH/s, scrypt = asic mining

Yes this works with ccminer and GPU but the performance is way slower than scrypt asics.

so there is no point in mining this at all unless I have a scrypt asic miner, which I don't. I have like 10 1060's, a 1070, and 3 1080's right now to mine with.

Funny enough, there are two versions of the blockchain. One at 21348 and one at 21385 at the time of this post.

Bitcoin core 8 has some issues with wallets struggling with orphan blocks, hopefully not too many peers are stalled. The correct block is 21395.
Bitcoin core 10 handles this with UpdateTip and soon PHC will be implemented.

Stalled wallets might need to reset their datadir (remove blk0001.dat, database, txtleveldb) and resync.

Why is PHC getting mined with such excessive hashrates? You earn more by mining efficiently...

Can you explain this please? The description in the ANN is hard to understand.

"Why is PHC getting mined with such excessive hashrates? You earn more by mining efficiently..."
What is an excessive hashrate? What is the ideal hashrate for this chain?

I just noticed this too. If you are mining on the chain that is behind, these blocks are invalid?

If you're mining on a chain that's behind, yes they could be invalid. With CPU mining sometimes turning off the miner and letting the wallet properly sync was enough to restore close to 100% success rates.

The ideal hashrate for solving a block is lower than the net-hashrate NOT above or even close... the difficulty will re-adjust down too.

For example: a few miners have been CPU mining for a few weeks with only 10 KH and earning 40-60 PHC per block
When pools began to introduce GH of power, without slowly letting the difficulty adjust they drove the reward from 98 PHC to just 30 in only 1 block!

Temporarily increasing the hash-rates by a LOT will actually get you automatically disconnected and sometimes banned for up to 24 hours by the peers/nodes on the network and will result in orphan blocks.

I am still doing analysis on the ideal hashrate for the network but at this time, I know for-sure we've exceeded it by a lot.

Thank you!

Hello everyone. PHC is an experimental coin, I never expected this much interest from so many people so quickly. I do have other projects on the go (not related to crypto), this is my first coin "release", thanks for your patience and assistance. I am not making any promises about adding to exchanges please mine at your own risk.

For the past month: I have been fixing serious flaws in the source code that was used from some very popular coins out there right now, some have failed but others are still running with the same core issues PHC had. The PHC blockchain has been reset (everyone lost coins) a few times due to extreme forking with PoW/PoS mining. As of now, I feel those issues have been corrected. The PHC blockchain will not be reset and the longest chain during a fork will win.

Implementing a Firewall (I created) and a Dynamic Block Reward (I also created) was not a simple "copy and paste" task.  A small group of dedicated BETA testers have been helping me with that the past 20 days and so the available supply reflects their efforts. I would like to mention they used CPU solo mining and not ASICs like most people are right now. I did not make an "announcement" on BitcoinTalk due to the fact that most users expect a coin to be consumer ready as soon as they find it. This is an open-source project and early adopters that assist and improve it will most likely profit from the success, but that's not a guarantee... it exists in early development stages at this time.

I am trying to learn how to use Windows to compile a wallet in the next week, hopefully someone can beat me to that goal... I will give them a PHC masternode 10000 PHC  :o

New features from the dev of their own coin are something that's sorely missing now that we're firmly in an age of clone coins. Nice work dev. Keep on innovating and hashpower will continue to follow you.

There are several reasons for you to fork onto your own chain:
- A spike in hashpower will get your pool banned by other nodes on the network, if stratum remains connected to your wallet while your chain falls behind it will begin building its own chain without your wallet automatically resyncing to the main network.
- Core 8 has issues trying to deal with chain-forks, this will not be an issue (if your pool is not trying to go above 51%) once PHC can be upgraded to Core 10 (hopefully in the near future)

Multi-pool operator suggestions:
- Turn off the auto-coin switching feature for PHC so your pool hashrate is more stable and the other peers on the network "learn" the average correctly.
- Have a script verify blockheights from a block explorer.

"A spike in hashpower will get your pool banned by other nodes on the network"

How sensitive is this? If someone with, say, 10Gh decided they wanted to mine PHC and joined the pool, are you saying that, just the act of joining the pool will bring down the pool?

Yes, large miners can bring down the pool if the hash-rate of the network is distributed evenly among all peers.

It has been set to be not too sensitive and can be adjusted. Peer block heights are also evaluated with an adjustable tolerance. For the past 24 hours, 1 seed node did not ban users but disconnected them (for testing purposes)

For example:

If the network hash-rate is 100 GH and you join the pool with 10 GH and start generating blocks at 10% what the rest of the network is mining then you're within the "safe" limits. But if you join a pool with 100 GH or more, you will most likely cause that pool or if you're solo-mining (your wallet) to be banned for 24 hours. 50 GH would be getting close to "un-safe" limits if 100 GH of the network was being mined by several peers/pools and not just 1.

But if you join a pool with 100 GH or more, you will most likely cause that pool or if you're solo-mining (your wallet) to be banned for 24 hours. 50 GH would be getting close to "un-safe" limits if 100 GH of the network was being mined by several peers/pools and not just 1.

That's a heavy price to pay if you're an innocent actor on the pool. You pay severely for someone else's action who probably has no idea that that will happen if they point their farm at a pool to mine PHC.

Yes, I will try to make a patch fix for the current version but from what I can tell Core 10 will be a very important upgrade.

Does 1000% APR for PoS means that the MN rewards will always be adjusted to be approximately 1000%ROI up to block 50k?

Or am I off here?

Funny enough, there are two versions of the blockchain. One at 21348 and one at 21385 at the time of this post.

Bitcoin core 8 has some issues with wallets struggling with orphan blocks, hopefully not too many peers are stalled. The correct block is 21395.
Bitcoin core 10 handles this with UpdateTip and soon PHC will be implemented.

Stalled wallets might need to reset their datadir (remove blk0001.dat, database, txtleveldb) and resync.

Why is PHC getting mined with such excessive hashrates? You earn more by mining efficiently...

"Why is PHC getting mined with such excessive hashrates? You earn more by mining efficiently..."
Can you explain this please? The description in the ANN is hard to understand.

"Why is PHC getting mined with such excessive hashrates? You earn more by mining efficiently..."
What is an excessive hashrate? What is the ideal hashrate for this chain?

Bumping this. Dev - can you answer and shed more light on how this works? Thanks.

Yes that's correct for staking/masternode payments depending on the coin-age too.

I was using 1 MH to mine on a pool a bit during the last few days, you will still earn something.

A brief explanation of the Dynamic Block Reward formula:

If you would like to start mining with the least amount of power as possible for the most profit: you can join a pool when the network difficulty is high and the net-hashrate is low, this will cause the block reward to increase in value!

If you decide to start mining with a lot of hash-power during a time of low difficulty:
the block reward will decrease in value making it very difficult to earn a profit for your extreme efforts. Not to mention by doing so, you drive the difficulty up significantly, and if that triggers a pool's auto-coin switching script to move onto another alt-coin, then your mining efforts in terms of increased revenue will actually go to the workers who remain on the network consistently.

Take a look -> http://coin.profithuntersclub.com/1-mh-mining.png

Not to come off rude, but you're competing with 600 GH at peak times on the network.
If you can mine & stake early and during optimal times you actually still have a decent shot at getting close to a masternode in earnings over a long-period of time.

I would prefer to see a pre-mine or pre-masternode so the dev had some coin to get this listed on cryptopia, bittrex, binance, kucoin etc,...

The coin is worthless without decent exchanges trading it.  One of the most important aspects, yet so few devs seem to take it seriously.  Lots of buyers with deep pockets will not go to shitty exchanges and for good reason.

How much commissions do you make by posting around harassing new alt-coins to pay over-priced "listing-fees" to get higher volume upon adding their coin to Bittrex?

I just want it to add my 2 cents and no everyone has the money to pay centralize exchanges a ton of money. Is it fair to pay 25 BTC to get list it on Cryptopia?
Even C-Cex is not that expensive when it comes down to buying the votes for the listing, its usually 2 BTC to buy all the votes to end there.

In my opinion small exchanges play a important role since the success of a coin don't depend on the exchange but rather other factors.

Developing team
Community
Technology

Eventually this exchanges will have to die for the crypto economics to stay a float. This centralized entities destroy and manipulate what goes up or down and this is not why this market exist in the first place. Is important for a coin to show volume but is not essential since not every developing team has 100 BTC to get list it on 5 top exchanges

Up until now; I don't pay myself for development, I also don't pay in Bitcoin to get listed on an exchange service.
We offered a bounty paid in PHC only, to the first exchange to add this project. With so many new exchanges out there, why should we focus on only a select "BIG" few? I have a list of over 150!
An industry that boasts decentralization puts their faith in centralized exchange services and if you don't, you get harassed...  :o

The Dev Team DOES have coins from the CPU-mining (testing) phase that will be invested back into network infrastructure. We've setup 2 Masternodes that will assist paying for future developments and I will be setting up more in the near future as required.

To the people asking the PHC Dev team to buy coins in private before it gets added to exchanges.

The simple answer is, NO! thanks for the offer.

The complicated answer: Profit Hunters Coin development team does not want to violate MSB regulations or other similar laws.

"A person that creates units of convertible virtual currency and sells those units to another person for real currency or its equivalent is engaged in transmission to another location and is a money transmitter. In addition, a person is an exchanger and a money transmitter if the person accepts such de-centralized convertible virtual currency from one person and transmits it to another person as part of the acceptance and transfer of currency, funds, or other value that substitutes for currency."

Okay and why didn't I receive the payout in my wallet? It is online and synced. POS is working fine with my wallet. I just didn't receive the payout from your website. Coincidence?
Maybe an issue in the network?
I just wanna get my coins

Miningpower.net does not appear to be on the correct chain...

Current block is 38938
I am noticing a lot more banned IP addresses today and large fluctuations in difficulty recently...  :o

Below shows a lot of orphan blocks on the network too... slowing down the official block explorer at the moment.

The network did not consider the coins valid to begin with.
Some upgrades to the pool software to verify they're mining on the correct chains might be required to prevent this in the future.

Minimale PoW Belohnung: 1 PHC

Above is a chart of the network traffic on one of my wallets for the last 24 hours.

The GREEN on the graph (during the most activity) shows my wallet getting a bunch of INVALID blocks from peers and attempting to confirm them by sending the VALID chain blocks shown in RED to those peers. After attempting very hard and using a lot of bandwidth in the process, was unable to get those peers back on the correct chain. The Bitcoin Firewall automatically banned peers not following the protocol rules, the VALID chain continued...

Take a look for yourself next time the PHC network begins to act "weird".
In GUI Wallet:
Goto:
Help -> Debug -> Network Traffic

>51% attacks and chain forking exploits are very difficult with PHC. Just because we use the Scrypt algorithm, that doesn't mean Pump and Dump groups can exploit us like all of the other new coins they target.
YOU WILL LOSE - If you try and cheat by getting invalid blocks accepted on the network - doesn't matter if you have >51% of the network hashrate, invalid blocks are invalid! 1 block or a chain of 1000000 blocks

Right now the development team and exchanges are focused on monitoring the network health in real-time and protecting against attacks.
We're creating unique solutions to automatically protect investors and are willing to share our solutions with other exchanges who would like to help.

We're not in a rush to add PHC to large exchanges at this time...

why is the wallet not synchronized?

Please download http://profithunterscoin.com/bootstraps/bootstrap.dat

Close your wallet and put bootstrap.dat into your c:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\PHC and then re-open your wallet. You should see "importing blocks" wait until full sync.

You can also try to use the full Bootstrap http://profithunterscoin.com/bootstraps/PHC_full-bootstrap_080218.zip

I have created an easy to use tool for Windows you can also try https://github.com/BiznatchEnterprises/phc/tree/master/contrib/wallettools/phc-walletbuddy/windows

Why is the Block reward always dropping to 1 since the last few days?

The block reward is calculated based on the last block's difficulty and current network hashrate.
If the network hashrate jumps up a lot during low difficulty then it will result in a low block value.

Some pools and miners are configured that when the difficulty goes up they usually switch over to another coin - leaving a very difficult block for low hashrate to solve

PHC tries to automatically discourage this behavior. When the difficulty is high and hashrate is low - those are the most profitable blocks to solve! Pool jumpers are merely scratching the surface of their potential earnings..

I totally understand what the intension is by ajusting the block reward based on hashrate and last blocks diff but it was changing from 50 to 10 to 6,5,4,3,2,1 in a few minutes without any changes of network hashrate or anything else. No hashrate spikes or whatever. This behavior occured a couple of days ago for the first time and now it happened more often.
Am I just halluzinating that this is odd? I bet you can somehow track/check the hashrate and compare it to the block reward.
I am not complaining about your coin. I like it. Just trying to notify you about unusual behavior.

Pools often adjust the difficulty for the miners independently from the network... I will look into it more once I have completed the release of 1.0.0.4. I would like to start tracking / charting it in more detail, thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it.

Alternative-coins.net is doing a pretty good job at tracking the network thus far https://www.alternative-coins.net/currencies/profithunterscoin

What did you mean? I guess, if I understand correctly, the block rewards for each block are not fixed, and fluctuated over time depend on total hashrates in the network and difficulties at each block. Am I right?

Backup your wallet.dat file.

Delete your blk0001.dat file and txleveldb in the PHC AppData

Then download http://profithunterscoin.com/bootstraps/bootstrap.dat
Put bootstrap.dat into your PHC AppData folder restart your wallet - wait and it should be fully synced.

It makes sense, all peers banned = wallet offline = no stake.

Downloaded 1.0.0.5, backed up wallet.dat, deleted blk0001.dat and txleveldb folder.
Downloaded and added bootstrap, ran new qt, synched wallet.
Coins missing, ran repairwallet, coins back.
My old stakes are gone but my mining from miningpower.net showed up.

Wallet remains online, connected and stable.

Thanks so much.

Hmmm  bad_alloc usually means that you do not have enough memory available

Okay I can try running the wallet on a better machine, but it's been up and online since my last post, about 8 hours, and has been saying expected time to earn a reward 7 hours the entire time. Wait, it just went to 8 hours. Before with my weight of 950+ it was giving me stakes often.

Notice:

Recently, someone tried to mine PHC with over 1 TH/s - possibly a "greater than 51% attack".
The dynamic block reward adjusted and went to the minimum, stopping hyper-inflation as difficulty shot to all-time record heights!
The Bitcoin Firewall successfully mitigated most of the orphan blocks circulated on the network by banning peers for 30 days.
The network appeared to be unaffected and continued operating as normal.

Ok but that is nothing which you can just do within a matter of months or so. If the decentralized network is important to you, you should start as early as possible as network effects need time to enfold.

Dev, cryptobridge will the best way to save coin!!!

Can I implement Profit Hunters Coin into the bridge myself or do I need to wait for the developers to add nodes compatible with PHC?

A coin needs a real world use, I would rather give Profit Hunters Coin a real use case by creating an open source exchange anyone can add functionality for other coins, not only a select few of elite developers. Essentially, PHC-DEX aims to give users the ability to run their own exchange similar to the "big ones" on their own PHC Masternodes, home/office computers or remote web-servers while maintaining funds with hot/cold wallets in their physical control that act as collateral for the orders placed on the DEX protocol. Fully "brand-able", they can also invite public users to access trades on the network and earn transaction fees for their services.

We're currently working on a whitepaper to outline some new concepts never before seen in the industry before!

Sorry for the delays, we've been busy working on the wallet 1.0.0.7 upgrade and DEX, an official announcement will be released soon.

Efficient CPU mining is coming to PHC using Scrypt Algorithm....
(Sorry ASICs, the game is fair again, your software will need updating to pause and wait for the correct block times)

PHC is bringing back "setgenerate" RPC to choke the ASIC miners to death.

Based from your website, the current price of your coin is only 1 sat. Are there plans in the pipeline that might help in boosting your value? But I admire the fact that you have come a long way already for this project. A lot have been died and abandoned only after few months of introduction to exchanges.

Yes, you can see them in the Roadmap section on the website. Lots of upgrades are planned to increase the value and demand for PHC. The DEX release in 2020 will bring a massive user-base through cooperating with other coins and projects to help them integrate their wallets within the platform for free.

In the future, Profit Hunters Coin development team will offer a paid consulting and development service (using PHC as payment) to help other projects fork to the PHC codebase with ease. Starting from Genesis or forking existing chains, we want to help vibrant projects seeking secure and clean source code or professional assistance.
