Anyone interested in helping me organize a Lawrence meetup?

I can make it to Lawrence at some point.  Could help out a bit with organizing if needed.

Why on earth would you want to meet in lawrance when Manhattan is right down the road and has so much more to offer.  BTW, KSU football starts on friday!

Also I will check my calendar, but it would be fun to be there, especially since that is one of my favorite restaurants. Steak Frites FTW

I say we wait till after the 10th as to not steal KC's thunder, then plan on a meet somewhere ideal like Perry for Lawrence, Topeka, and Manhattan.

How does everyone feel about sushi and chinese food?  There is a place in Olathe called Sake Lounge that has pretty damned good sushi and the rest of the menu is pretty good as well.  If you like Sake, they have like 23 different kinds.  I can probably get us a reserved area over in the bar/lounge side or the presentation/business meeting side or just the regular restaurant as well. Ignore their website, it's some template piece o' crap, the actual place is much nicer than the website would lead you to believe.

Personally, I'd prefer Sake over Gordon Biersch, especially if it's going to be noisy and rowdy.

If there's a Lawrence meetup, I may be interested in going, depending on my schedule.   Downtown noonish would be best.  I may be able to bring my coworker, too. (we work just off Mass)

I'm game wherever. Not into sushi or Sake, but Zhou Tong food is fine, especially the Yifu Duck with orange sauce.

Isn't Bitcoin all about getting noisy and rowdy! lol... j/k   I have no attachment to Gordon Biersch.  I like beer over sake... but sushi over about anything... so either place is fine with me.  Only advantage a noisy place has is if you are all assholes I can ignore you easier  :o lmao

Inaba, seems people don't care to much.  Since there is just the 4-5 confirmed (you, Gage, Goat, myself, a 5th you said might come with you) I think it would be okay to move it as notifying everyone shouldn't be hard, lol.  I'll leave the final decision up to you.  If you want to make reservations etc. at that lounge, just let us know and I'll update the first post with the new location.

Wow, I woulda missed this thread if someone hadn't linked it!  I'll be in KC that day and I love sushi!  Tell the restaurant not to run out of wasabi!!!!!

I will set it up.  I'll put us down for like 8 or so, in case others show up.  There should be plenty of room either way.

I think part of it is I keep thinking along the lines of when I used to live in KC and it'd take almost 4 hours to drive home for a visit, but the speed limit was 55 back then.  While I don't like making a habit of not getting enough sleep, I've had to often enough in the Navy to be able to get away with it under special circumstances.  I think this may count as one. :)

I will be bringing a friend interested in BTC, so I will have 2 (including myself)

I want to be there so bad but i'm stuck until October. I would love to try Kansas BBQ. Always heard good thing about it. 

IIRC, the last meetup you attended and took pics, one of the guys ended up going dark, and one of the pics your provided somebody shopped, labeling all in attendance the same nym.

BTW, if any pics of me appear on this forum with me drinking Kool Aid, I want to go on record and state that I didn't drink the five gallon bucket of it, but that it was administered via an enima. It took three guys to hold me down, maybe only two, for I believe a reach-around was in progress, but by whom I don't know because I had my eyes closed fantasizing that the plug was of a goat, making the horrible act comfortable.

Excellent Meetup with Goat soon to provide pics. In attendance was myself, bcp19, boozer and a friend of his with his son, Goat with his lovely wife, Josh, and Sonny. While they all ate raw fish, I enjoyed a fully cooked cow. While they all got drunk and picked on me, I had coffee and took it like the passive asshole I am.

Seriously, it was extremely enjoyable, and I will be writing up an excellent review of BFL as soon as I get back home to Illinois. The review will not be influenced by the proverbial Kool Aid or the gift Josh gave bcp19 and I: A 60 GH/s miner rated at only 20 GH/s due to some subpar component--maybe the chip(s).

I wish to thank boozer for putting this Meetup together and BFL for picking up the tab.

Thanks Gage! It was a lot of fun to meet you all!  Can't wait for the next one!  Wish there was more time to get know everyone better but hopefully I can get to know people a bit better on here and another meetup isnt too far off (although need more locals lol)
