Is it possible for eth to overtake bitcoin in price in nearest future?

Well I think etherium cannot over take Bitcoin why? First and foremost, bitcoin is the root of all the crypto currency aroud the world and I think no thing such as alt coin can beat bitcoin coz as far as I concern, Bitcoin is still the most dominating crypto currency, and unlike other crypto currency, bitcoin is not reproducible and it is decentralized. So no worries. Bitcoin I think will recover sooner or later.

It will be most impossible the ethereum will be Overthrown the Bitcoin in the value, look at the etehreum value right now, only hight price on 0,1 btc in oe ethereum, sol it will be most impossibel if the ethreum price will be the same the bitcoin value, bitcoin is the mother from altcoin so it will not happen if the altcoin have hight value and price than the bitcoin value, forever it will be not happen.

Btc will not be took over by any coin/token anytime soon. Btc is the first mover and many consider it as a store of value. Traders normally take profit from alt coins and put it into Btc for a while.
Btc also is the main pair in every exchange.
With current problems regarding scalibility, devs are working hard to solve it with LN. Btc is the only coin that has no Founder that make it unstoppable .

What we are seeing right now with the Ethereum is that it is exponential increase with regards to the number of projects, there were really billions of dollars being poured in the ecosystems which last 2017 had been ten times more projects compared to 2016 that lead Eth to doubling its price, but still it did not overthrown bitcoin, as investors are still relying on bitcoin as they have seen more potential profit in it.

Very much possible. Even though bitcoin is the pioneer of Cryptocurrency and blockchain came into existence because of bitcoin, but it really needs a serious technological overhaul. When bitcoin was invented, 1 mb block size looked good, but with the immense worldwide popularity and increased transaction volume, a bigger block size is the need of the hour. If this scaling issue can't be taken care immediately, bitcoin will not be able to sustain its number one position for a long time. Instead, ETH will take up its place as a worthy contender.

No its not possible for Ethereum , Bitcoin is like a good an Ethereum is just a man , if you know what I mean . Bitcoin is the best cryptocurrency ever , Ethereum has no chance to take over Bitcoin at least not know and not even in a few years, but it could happen maybe in 10 years or more becouse we don't know what's gonna happen with Bitcoin till them , Bitcoin could even disappear and Ethereum could take over or other coin .

Can't exactly comment on this but it is bad to think that BTC can't be overthrown. Bitcoin right now is basically useless when compared to ETH which has better transaction confirmation times, low fees, smart contracts etc.
BTC has first mover advantage so it is still number 1

No its not possible that eth can overtake the bitcoin.Bitcoin is the mother of whole cryptocurrency and it  is the main source of coins in the market.Bitcoin will stay remain in crypto and cannot be defeated by other coins.Ethereum is like bitcoin that have a good price value but it always next to bitcoin and second to it.

No, ethereum cannot overthrown bitcoin because bitcoin are the most promising coin and the king of all coins in the market. It's impossible to happen because bitcoin is the best at all time like for investment. But from now most of the people are focusing to work in ICO because it's better than to signature campaigns. Ethereum are also great for the future because of their value are continuously raise but it can't overtake for the value of bitcoin.

The chance is very less,because the availability of ethereum is not like bitcoin's limited quantity,we knows that price of the coin is based on the supply and demand so bitcoin availability is 21 million so the supply is very less that's why the price is getting expensive everyday.But ethereum availability is unlimited so they can print as much as they want so there will be no shortage of ethereum in future so the price will be less always when compared to bitcoin.

Possible though it would be an uphill battle. That is if the people working for Bitcoin could not come up with something that can make it much better than it is now...i understand that even though it is taking them a lot of time there are now many things being tested to make Bitcoin transactions fast, efficient and cost-effective. When Bitcoin can be able to go beyond its present problem then it can be back as the most viable cryptocurrency though Ethereum will always have a good market of its own as the next-in-line to Bitcoin.

As for me, I am not looking at these two as competitors but complementing each other. It is just like having an apple and an orange. Why limit your choice to only one or two when you can have many? We are in the world of choice and the more things we can choose with the better for the whole market. I am a big fan of both Bitcoin and Ethereum, obviously because I am using them both.

ethereum is gaining momentum because it has being advertised a lot, getting pumped by those holding lots of money and the 72 million premine, and also because of the large number of ICOs on it.

it has higher fees compared to 90% of the altcoins. and its network is congested to the point where you have to pay $4 fees to get your transaction processed at times.
it has higher costs for creating a smart contract compared to all the other similar smart contract platforms.
smart contracts are also possible with bitcoin so does with at least 20 other better platforms with so much less cost.

the chances are very low but i no longer underestimate the power of the centralized banks behind an altcoin pump.

Ethereum is good growth altcoin. But it is not have that much potential in crypto market. Because Bitcoin is the king of the cryptocurrency it is always top most promising coin. So any other cryptocurrencies are not reached in the price. Bitcoin circulation is totally different from the market so market capitalisation and price both are maintained in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is best decentralised cryptocurrency in the crypto market.

Honestly, It's very difficult to become Ethereum better than Bitcoin in the value. Furthermore, the difference between their prices is huge ( the current price of bitcoin is 12k and Ethereum just 1k ) and as a matter of fact there is a superiority of 11K in value.

In addition to that, It is expected that Bitcoin will rise with a great worth and the price may become more than 40K at the end of this year, especially when the problems (like, transaction and the high amount of fees...) that led to a crisis in value of bitcoin will resolve soon. Moreover, I do not think that the price Ethereum will progress with a big quantity in the near future , although that the current value of transaction fee is low compared to Bitcoin.

Because the supply of bitcoin is very low compared with ethereum and it looks impossible in my opinion. How ethereum almost 100 million on its total supply while at the same time bitcoin maximum supply was 21 million bitcoin. it will never be happened man, believe me. ethereum will never worth more than bitcoin for each coin.

in fact no one knows it can happen or not and even when it can, because all I know now is eth is getting closer to bitcoin in its fame even though the price is still at 1:10.

Bitcoin bubbles, many predict it. I do not believe it but the situation supports the theory. I began to doubt Bitcoin and began to look for tough coins from various issues.

This is very likely to happen before 2025. Ethereum will gain a serious momentum from Assian markets and it will be the dominating factor of the whole crypto markets.

If ethereum goes up by more than 75% from now, it will overtake bitcoin of course, it is just pure math. Go to coinmarketcap and you will see that it is possible. Anyway, i do not think that it will happen.

If Lighting Network for Bitcoin is not going to be enough to again have competitive transaction fees and transaction times I think it definitely can. If Lightning Network will be a success it will be very hard to overtake.

The most likely answer to this is a no, ETH is great because many tokens are based on ETH and this is why we see sometimes the trading volume of ETH being bigger than bitcoin, however ETH is not really used for anything more than that, while bitcoin despite the fees is still used as a currency, if ETH wants to surpass bitcoin it needs to do it fast before bitcoin gets the LN.

Well, ethereum can't overthrown or overtake bitcoin. I can't imagine that the founder of all cryptocurrency can overtake any altcoins. Ethereum is good because of low transaction and smart contract but bitcoin is better for me.

No, it wont happen for now, the price of bitcoin is stable at the moment, while ethereum is just like how bitcoin was a few months ago.

Just give them some time, for me, ethereum will be between $1200 - $1500 for a while, but it would never be better than bitcoin.

ETH can be as popular as bibitcoin, but cannot overtake the place of bitcoin. Currently, 1 bitcoin worth more than 10 ETH with the current price from coinbase, which shows that ETH cannot meet BTC in price anytime soon.

Well, that is what I believe in. I am still faithful to bitcoin though and I believe in it as the transactions fee will be lowered in a matter of time. However, everything is based on a circle. The number five used to be the number five until it goes up to number one, and the later dropped off.

It can. There will also be other coins. Nost cryptocurrency now come with mostly empty promises. Spectre might be good if they can pull off actual total privacy. Telegram might put out an ICO which can be strong. The only thing I do not like about Ethereum is that it is creating all these ER-20 currencies which are gradually eroding its value. But that is its main function .That is  what gives it value. So while it can do so I do not think it will in value. In overall market capitalization it may. Other cryptos can come and they may do so.

I don't think so Eth could take over Bitcoin , BTC does have more investor against ETH , I might say both can move same way as they move in past .
bitcoin transaction's fee could be less in future !!!

Ethereum is really working great even until now, to overtake bitcoin is not easy to accomplish. Although the fee is high but bitcoin is the only crypto that accepted by most national exchange and this victory of bitcoin will always lead far away from all crypto.

IMHO, bitcoin wins only in popularity. As soon as most learn about the eth, something unexpected can happen.

Yes, you are right because Bitcoin is already generating huge volumes in the market and we cannot predict easily that ETH will surpass the BTC. I think price changes will be there but the difference between even though transaction fee are little high with Bitcoin, but we can overcome the problems.

Voluem doesn't mean anything, but the fact has told me about ethereum already beaten the bitcoin on the daily transaction. People are not realizing about ethereum is having a lot of potential to be future payment system rather than bitcoin with its broken blockchain with so many unconfirmed, this just the matter of time until sharding will come and bitcoin will be nothing to ethereum on the scalability.

This question was asked many times by our fellow members on forums. I think its merely speculation. Ethereum is nowhere near bitcoin as store of wealth or currency in terms of real life use. Prices aren't important.

In dreams definitely it is possible to have this scenario. Ethereum beating bitcoin and grabbing the trophy but reality is far different from our imaginations and desires. Just look at the amount. Bitcoin is 21 million in total and eth is like 95 million or something. Bitcoin is said to be the digital gold and whatsoever happens, no virtual currency can beat the virtual gold. Bitcoin will remain at the top for sure.

If bitcoin doesn't continue to innovate and evolve to meet new challenges, yes.

Let's make some comparison of bitcoin, ethereum and other coins to a bank, bitcoin is the mother bank or the central bank of one country, many banks may be given multi awards, has its thousands of branches, no matter what they do they will never overthrown BTC,  but on the other hand ethereum may acknowledge by many or the number  of ethereum user will be much more higher compared to bitcoin; or neither it will happen to other coins also, but what do you think will happen if ETH will replaced BTC?  Some other coins user/investors/owners  will also find their way to overthrown ETH since they overthrown BTC, it will become war on digital money if it does happen.

Why do we have to discuss this possibility in various different threads when they are almost identical? Ethereum has good sides but it won't takeover Bitcoin. I don't think ethereum will overthrown bitcoin because once a king will always be a king and ethereum as a queen is a good pair for bitcoin and will remain on her spot. As we look in the current state i don't think Eth will overthrown Bitcoin.For me ethereum is functionally different from bitcoin.As far as i know,ethereum is an open software platform based on blockchain technology.While Bitcoin is a type of digital currency.Then besides,Bitcoin will always be the remain reference value in the crypto world.If ethereum has the capability to convert directly to fiat money,then yes it is possible for ethereum to overthrown bitcoin.

I agree that eth can overtake btc in the future in terms of price as what you stated. That will take place more years from now as btc strength is there. When btc make its own limitation in crypto land then eth will rise up and take the lead.

I don't think bitcoin will be replaced by Ethereum.I accept ethereum was on second place next to the Bitcoin.But bitcoin is the king of Crypto and can't be replaced by any of the altcoin.I think ethereum will be on second place but replacement of Bitcoin is not possible.

In my personal opinion, I believe Ethereum will have a fair chance to overthrown Bitcoin, but not in this year.
As they may seem have steady growth and more stability, the price also affected by Bitcoin condition.
As we can see, when Bitcoin value goes down, all alt coin affected and shows the down graphs as well, but in different percentage, depending on their stability.
However, when people has more knowledge and understanding this cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, if they can not keep improving, it will not be crown as king of cryptocurrency forever, and perhaps not only Ethereum, but other alt coin will be possible to overthrown Bitcoin.

Ethereum does have the potential to be the market leader in market cap. However, Bitcoin and Ethereum are two different entities with different use cases. Currently, Bitcoin is being used more as a Crypto Asset rather than a currency. On the other hand, Ethereum has many use cases like deploying smart contract.

If this kind of trend continues for months or years i think it is really possible, it will take a long time but with eth strong pricing these days even most of cryptos are falling down it is getting consistent with $1k up price point.

yes, not always bitcoin will always stay above, and I'm sure Ethereum has a good chance to overthrow Bitcoin, but not this year. because growth and altcoin price stability are currently affected by bitcoin conditions.

Well I don't know about overthrowing BTC but yes ETH has the most strong competition edge over BTC because of low transaction fees and long confirmation hours. On the other hand, ETH transactions are very fast with quite low fees as comapare to BTC. So ETH is always been the second choice of crypto users after BTC.
