No one accepting in my own country, we are still trying to adopt as our government always speak negative about bitcoin which makes many not adopted it yet...

This is a very good news because when most people realized that they can use bitcoin to purchase real things apart just trading bitcoin online bitcoin will gain more users.

Since the price got above 10000$ almost anyone knows and accepts Bitcoin. I see more and more shops and digital stores accepting Bitcoin. I often buy games with it, Steam was one of the earlier adopters of Bitcoin(sadly, they dont accept it anymore), and nowadays I even buy other daily stuff with Bitcoins.

I laugh when people say that spending Bitcoin is not economical or possible due to high transaction fees or scaling issues.  This week, especially, as transaction fees have been surprisingly lower than weeks past.

I, personally, use Bitcoin to buy plenty of things. I pay my rent in Bitcoin. I top up my phone credit using bitcoin via bitrefill. There are a couple of restaurants here on this tiny little island that I live on that accepts bitcoin. I buy online digital goods with bitcoin. And mind you, some of these transactions are under $20. Personally, I don’t mind spending a transaction fee (lately) for my purchases, as they have been pretty low.

Here in our country they are still few who allow to pay bitcoin directly. Since KYC and UBER start it maybe some other stablishment will follow their stop and keep our dreams come true.

Still doesn't seem very viable because of the high fees for Bitcoin. I'd rather not pay $1200 USD worth of BTC for an item worth $1000 USD

but that's only in some countries, while in other countries, especially in countries that have already banned bitcoin, holders quite difficult to exchange bitcoins with real goods.

for online purchasing maybe its still possible, there are still some which can provide services with bitcoin payments but for purchases directly to the store, it may still be very difficult

I feel that the transaction fees and time is the main cause that many stores can’t or don’t make sense to accept BTC. I believe we will be seeing more physical and online stores accepting BTC after lighting network is launched.

Yes indeed, you can buy a lot of things with bitcoin. That further said, before earning bitcoin you must be patient enough to have the opportunity of joining big and legitimate companies or employers, thus having a payout that could satisfy your financial needs. There are many opportunities out there that can be grabbed! Make sure to be a good and honest individual and you'll earn bigger than what you currently have.

Also lets not forget it is a P2P network which means you could send the funds to somebody you know who could in turn buy you anything for that amount. Literally then the options are endless and you can buy whatever you like this way:P.

There is just one problem with all that companies that you told. It is a one time buy.
It is not like amazon or ebay that you keeps on going back whenever you need something.
That is not a lot for me.
It is just picked ones. The news still needs to be spread and we need merchants that are courageous enough to go dealing with cryptos.

Quite a few domainers accept Bitcoin in payment for domain names, and that includes me. :)

Bitcoin really is replacing the local currency to some extent, i personally have purchased goods from overstock and made the payment through bitcoin. It was a fun experience and from that day i just wish that the transaction problems get fixed and i get to use this wonderful service more often.

Using bitcoin for paying off such expenses would actually be really convenient if you have a real life job and almost half of your expenses are covered here and you can live a luxurious and lavish life.
People can buy almost every thing on this forum itself, given you just find the right person to trade with. So yeah.

We know this but there are two problems.

1. The fees and the speed of confirmation. You cannot buy anything small anymore when the fee is 20 or 30 dollars and the price of what you want to buy is 5 then it does not make sense to use bitcoin.
2. Adoption, Yes we can order stuff from the internet but there is no store near me that accepts bitcoin payments at all.

People are using those alt coins alot since the high transaction fees and slow transactions associated with it. But being able to use bitcoins to pay things all depends on the retailers who accepts it in the first place.

I guess it’s situational. While some of my purchases are $20 and under, the majority are more. In order for me to pay rent using fiat, for example, I would have to bank wire funds from the US into a bank account in the country I live in. The wait time would be 5-10 business days and the fees would be roughly $25-40US. Bitcoin transactions for my rent cost less and take no more than a couple hours. In situations like this, it makes sense for me to use bitcoin over fiat. Is bitcoin economical to buy a cup of coffee or a meal at a fast food joint? Hardly, but for me, those aren’t the types of transactions I use bitcoin for, so again, it’s situational, I suppose.

Yes I can  buy all things through bitcoin. Bitcoin now is the most popular money. BeCause the value is very expensive. Especially when the price is getting higher and higher. Valve which offers Steam as their platform to buy games for PC used to accept Bitcoin but due to high fees they removed this option. While you can buy many things with bitcoin you cannot buy PC games anymore with it and that is a minus. There is a whole big international market of gamers which Valve wants to stay out of bitcoin. If bitcoin remains as a payment there even people who don't know bitcoin would see this option when buying games and they would be at least curious to read what it is. This is like closing a door to a wider youthful audience for bitcoin.

The beauty of using bitcoin as a payment, is the ability to send it around the world. Everyone is being connected without any middle man.you have your own bank account and you can own your bank account for fee. It was great and cool, using bitcoin as a payment. Just one swipe and there you go.

It may come as a surprise but the world isn't revolving around the USA. I mean it's all fine that there are so many merchants accepting it in your country but here in Europe it's almost impossible to buy something directly with Bitcoin. Even gift cards that you can buy in the US for sites like Amazon.com don't work for Amazon.uk, or Amazon.de. It's a shame Europe is so far behind.

yes we can even when the bitcoin started it is used already as payments to some merchants who accept bitcoin.  It would be nice if the fee is low not outrageous though.

That's absolutely righ. Fact is that, you can now buy more thing unlike before because the market value of Bitcoin at this moment is way higher than its market price 5 years before. But since its value is expected to be more expensive in the future, you may obviously buy more things from it when its value starts to rise again. And in a line with that, transactions are decentralized so I am hoping that it won't be involved on illegal things.

Out of curiosity, how are countries like Switzerland when it comes to accepting Bitcoin? I remember about a year ago there was a ton of hype around some initiatives that the Swiss were taking in order to make their country more accessible to people who were using digital currencies. But I'm personally not surprised that the rest of Europe is so far behind, considering that they're not as interested in cryptos and more interested in trying to maintain the EU, or that's at least the last thing I remember EU countries caring about. I don't know the politics in Europe but it doesn't seem like they're doing anything but trying to salvage their economies.

Yes, you can actually buy a lot of things in the country where i come from with your bitcoin, especially in shops and big organisations that accepts bitcoin, almost all accepts bitcoin.A lot of people still spend their bitcoin in acquiring valuables, i recently witness a member use his bitcoin to  buy some thing very precious that is worth over $500 and that is very important to note. Accepting bitcoin for on line transactions  by many countries is still a proof that bitcoin can be use to buy and transact business on line, many people are on daily basis transacting online using bitcoin that is generally accepted for that, so also it be use to buy things as well.

Actually, there are some store on online and offline started to accept bitcoin and I think it is a good news to all bitcoin users. On the other hand, as of now you can't used your bitcoin to buy all things that you want because there few store that already accept bitcoin as payment of their costumer.

    Yes,you can use bitcoin as payment for electric and water bills,buy load even clothes. Some of the pastfood here in our country also accept bitcoin as payment. The value of bitcoin is higher which is a lot of people and other businesses accept bitcoin as payment.

Yes of course specially with its value right now so many things to buy for. But if you don’t need much that things better not to use bitcoin and just hold on it. In my place I can easily use bitcoin to pay for my bills, deposit it direct on my bank accounts, easy cash out and so on.

It is true you can buy a lot of things with Bitcoin thru online shopping because Bitcoin is made for online transaction,nowadays that we are in a technology generation we are capable to accept payment thru internet and a easy and convenient way of transaction.

it seems very nice if all online and offline stores receive payment with bitcoin, so it will be easier to make a sale and purchase transactions. In my country there are no stores that accept payments with bitcoin, so I have to make bitcoin as cash first if I want to shop and take a long time to make it cash so it makes me difficult.

It's not worth using it for such procurement and purchases if they are not in huge quantity else you will risk spending more due to high transacti0on fees  which have plaque this community  for some time now. It's ideal and nice to use bitcoin in everything but with the current rates per transaction i don't think it will be wise to spend it on a day to day basis like buying personal suff's with it.

Currently the transaction speed is way too slow of BTC for amazon, ebay etc. It might be even best if they created their own crypto coin or used an alt coin which is faster in transactions. The way it is going BTC will turn more into goldbars then it will be used for actual payments.

It is true that you can buy a lot of things using bitcoin but i think it depends to the country because there are some countries that already banned bitcoin. Yeah you can actually buy a lot of things with bitcoin, but i dont know if this is a good idea. If you buy a shirt worth $50 of BTC today, then maybe a week or so the value of your shirt jumps to $100 worth of BTC! This is because the value of bitcoin is so volatile and unstable.

In my country it's forbidden to accept bitcoin as payment, the legal currency for payment is still fiat, bitcoin is only allowed as investment and trading, so you absolutely cant buy anything with bitcoin or any alt coins in my country, but you still.can buy online things using bitcoin

Yes, there are many things that can buy from bitcoin whether it is online or not but if you use your bitcoin in any transaction make sure that it is worthy because me my self feel regret every time i sell my bitcoin. I first make sure that it has a good and reasonable when i sell it.

I know this will not make any difference because I ain't big counterweight to this giants, but I have started to accept crypto for any items I put in my local adverts.
What i want to say is the fact that if people recognise value in crypto then company's will adapt.

For example, I know a lot of people who wanted to buy some hardware with xxx credit card they have, but shop they come in didn't have that option, you know what happened? These people went to other more expensive shop because it gave them option to pay with the credit card they own. These stuff  can be related to crypto world also.

When company starts to lose money because they don't accept some paying option somebody in that company will react, simply because they will identify that as missed opportunity and lost money they could have on them.

I can't feel the high cost of fees because in our country, our using wallet it tied up with all banks thats why it cant hard to transfer. Yes I agree whit this but, for me, i'd choose ETH to buy online because sometimes, the fee in bitcoin is too high for the transaction fees but I know that bitcoin is the number one coin we need in crypto because we have a lot of experience in it that makes our money profitable than we expected.

Yes, but now it's a little early to talk about it. Now bitcoin is an ideal option for investment, but as a currency it is not sufficiently developed. It simply has nowhere to spend. And this is not very profitable. But I hope that in a few years the situation will change for the better.

It depends on where you live how much you can buy with bitcoin. I do not think that I have ever seen one of those bitcoin accepted signs in my city. That is really frustrating.
What I find even more concerning is that there are already payment providers who have removed bitcoin from their offer. That makes the number of things I can buy with bitcoin grow smaller.

I think bitcoin is a good mode of payment because you're not afraid to lose your money, it's not easy to get stolen like paper money. Bitcoin is very safe to carry. I hope time comed many people to use bitcoin and many who are also accepting bitcoin as mode of payment.

Well, it is possible for as long as you can also make ways to contribute for it to become acceptable in your country, yes we like those ideas but, let's ask ourselves too. By simply sharing it in social media or friends we can make it more popular and can make awareness with people. The transaction fees makes it difficult in my opinion because i wouldn't find it easier spending about 20$ worth of bitcoins on a transaction of the same magnitude or even less and that has been the fate some of us would have to deal with on daily basis if we are to use bitcoin everyday.

Despite BTC hasn`t been acceptable yet as payment in my country, the greatest way to use it - to buy real estate. There are some amazing villas, and they cost cheaper,if you pay in BTC:) As I know, in USA you can buy different kinds of property right now with crypto.

We must understand that Bitcoin is not anonymous in the sense that people are expecting. How Bitcoin is accepted in many sectors in many countries but the volume of transactions is much lower due to multiple reasons such as high transaction fees and confirmation time. It makes difficult especially in the offline market to use Bitcoin for paying the bills for goods or services. We don't have that network of merchants accepting Bitcoin on a global level but I do see the very optimistic picture in the coming years where Bitcoin will be usable for microtransactions too.

Bitcoin has use for buying items where the settlement time can be 30 minutes or longer, like an online purchase or a hotel room.  But it won't work for a drive through purchase at McDonald's, or something in line at the grocery store.  It takes too long to confirm the transaction.  That being said there is GREAT value in using bitcoin for other things were time isn't a factor.  And since we're coming up on tax season, I'll say that one of those things is taxes!

while i agree with some of your points, i really do not think that this can apply to every crypto lover/user here in the forum or in the crypto world as a whole since not a lot of countries yet accept bitcoins let alone their stores and service providers. in fact, some countries even restrict their people from using bitcoins and any other crypto currencies out there. not to mention all those countries that do not have stable internet connections. this truly is something that can only be available for selected countries and people. but even so, there are still a couple of ways around this problem. that is, if the person really does want to use crypto currencies for these purposes. good topic though :)

Adoption is not going to happen in all places at the same time, it is normal that some countries adopt new technologies first, for example in japan they love new technology and when we take into account the economic experimentation being made by their government then it makes sense that bitcoin was accepted the fastest there, the US is full of people with independent thoughts and ideas so I'm not surprised the adoption in the US is big as well. But in other countries adoption will be way slower due to different factors, like economic prosperity, a necessity to adapt and even cultural differences.

Because in my country which is Philippines, they can no longer accept bitcoin as a payment of an item so that we need to convert it in real money to buy things that you want. If online shops use btc as a payment here in our Philippines, i doubt it. Just because bitcoin is volatile when it come to its value. It cant be stable. yes, currently bitcoin is a crypto asset that can facilitate us to make transactions, especially in countries that have many online sites to shop. but not all countries allow bitcoin as a means of transactions to conduct online buying and selling activities. and is included in my country because currently the government in the country only provides a policy by only allowing to do limited bitcoin activity to invest but in the case of transactions in countries with bitcoin have not been allowed because for some reason there is already a legitimate official currency to conduct activity transactions . but this is to me no problem because in the current bitcoin activities I do only for the storage of financial assets. and if indeed I want to do a transaction I do is swap some BTC that I exchange as USD and transfer to bank account number that I have.

Yes, there is a cryptocafe which accepts ONLY crypto, and there is an electronic store where you can pay with crypto, but thats just about it, as far as I know.
