Post by: Trubadur on January 31, 2018, 03:24:08 PM
Dear all,
After I received hundreds of bitcoin and crypto adds on my social media I decided to join the forum to find out more about this blockchain technology. I found this forum huge and have no idea where to start. There is so much to read about. I could use some help to point me to the right direction to catch up with all this stuff here. Any help would be much appreciated.

First of all, Welcome to crypto space. If you are new and want to learn more about the tech and investing advise I suggest the following sites/podcasts

1. Coindesk - It has a vast collection of tutorials and fundamentals on blockchain. It also publishes news articles regarding the market, new tech and ICOs.

2. CoinMastery - This is Youtube channel and normally gives decent advise on investing. The guy is normally bullish on the long term and dishes some good technical analysis on charts.

3. Podcasts - I prefer listening to 11FS - Blockchain insider. I have found them to be pretty unbiased and generally interview VCs, exchanges and founders.

This is a highly volatile market, and one should have the stomach to go through the huge ups and downs. So invest only the amount that you are fine with losing. Most veterans like arsonbunny on reddit have soom good tips and strategy on reddit.

Good luck!!

Hey, go check the 'beginner's and help' section first, there's a lot of great info there. Let me link you to a post I came across just earlier actually, it pretty much includes many of the best and most informative threads across the forum.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2852912.0

Good luck and Welcome!

Since you are new here, you should first read the most important information about the forum and rules. You can find everything about that in "Meta" section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0

Later you can ask about whatever you want in "Beginners&help" section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0

And the most important read, read, read! :)

What a loaded question.

You are in one of the best place to learn BUT note that as much as there are so much good info here....there is so much "noise" or bad info as well that finding the real "golden nuggets of info" becomes difficult.

The basics.
Do not invest more than you can afford to lose.  Not really but a good one anyway.
The higher the risk, the greater the reward.  Very true in crypto but learn to minimize your risks by going with stable/known coins & tokens first.  Take more risks once you have enough knowledge.
DYOR= do your own research.  Do not rely on anyone's advise at face value.  Take it as a guide then research.
FUD= fear, uncertainty and doubt.  This usually creates massive sell off, market crash/dip which most "seasoned" traders see as opportunities.  Take advantage of it and not be a victim.
ATH = all time high.  Highest price the coin/token reached.
FOMO= fear of missing out.  Usually jumping in and investing w/o research...just because so and so mentioned it is the next x1000 coin or because market is buying it like a feeding frenzy by piranhas.  This usually ends up in buying at ATH and followed by a dip/loss.  DYOR.
Buy low, sell high.  The golden mantra...when in doubt, default to this.

If I am new (or my mom asks me where to invest), my suggested portfolio (today) will be comprised of;
BTC,
ETH,
NEO,
ICX,
VEN,
XMR,
ARK,
KNC,
ELF,
QTUM,
WTC

If you can only afford a few coins, go from top to bottom of that list.  Remember, this is a suggestion...use it as a go by or a starting point and DYOR.

There are lots of good info at youtube.  Look for crypto videos and usually, the ones with most followers/views are good indications of good source for advise.

Coindesk, Reddit and Github are good sources of info as well.

Blockfolio is a good cellphone app to track you coins.

BTW, stay safe!  There are many ways to lose money, the fastest is by getting hacked.  Use strong passwords, use 2FA (two factor authentication) AND secure your wallet/exchange keys as well as 2FA keys.  Save them on paper (printed) AND on a thumb drive you can store safely.  NEVER on your computer where it can be accessed easily if you get hacked.  Next to losing it, nothing worse than knowing you have money but you cannot access it.

Good luck!

While I agree with this...I think the market is at the end of it's slump and about to rebound.  At the minimum, I believe buy BTC now and hold/hodl.  Most recent forecasts I've seen say it is about to enter the next massive spike.

No guarantees but buying BTC around $9,800 is an opportunity we shouldn't let go (if possible) IMHO.  As a matter of fact, I just bought this morning. :D

It is difficult to answer your question because you are not telling us what are you trying to accomplish, do you want to just be informed about this new and exciting technology? Do you want to become an investor and make money with cryptocurrencies? Do you want to offer your services in the forum and earn money that way? Are you a developer and want to understand bitcoin more deeply? As you can see there are simply too many angles and it will help us if you told s exactly why you are here.

Welcome.  But the first and the most important, do not Invest any money which should not be lost.

You have play money?
So i think best invest will be ETH.
Also i think BTC will go in March back to 13-14k

Then Elix, also here i see in March potential.
x 2-5 should be possible

Starting guide 101:

  • Create account on different exchanges (KuCoin, Binance, Bittrex, ...)
  • Create Twitter and follow people, coins and exchanges (so you get relevant information on potentially nice coins)
  • Research coins you like. What do they provide, how do they work.
  • Invest money, you won't be particularly sad if you lose.

Learn top 10-20 coins on coinmarketcap, add it to bookmarks. You will need it often if you want to find any valuable coin fast
Go to every coin's site from top 20 and learn what they are about
Register on some major coin exchanges
Learn what people write on this forum about coins you are interested in
Find some telegram groups, doesn't matter it's pump or dump or some useful ones, learn how they work
Find popular crypto writers on twitter and learn what they are writing about.

Another neophyte. Just be careful in trusting anyone offering you trades and such and such as it will lead you to being broke. If you can see there are people who are trusted here and if you want to buy some coins you want to hold then you could go to exchanges sites.

And kindly visit the mods thread for you to read and find more knowledge as they are much to be trusted than any one in this forum, you can click THIS (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0) so it may lead you to salvation. You have also beginners help in your sub-forum if you have lack of understanding in English language discussions (If you are an American disregard that). Good luck and have fun in learning about the crypt society :D.

since in this market it is better to call in as early as possible, I would buy coins from the top 10 for long. better slower but more confident. and at this time would study fresh startups

You just be focusing on altcoin sections which preferably guide you on investing some altcoins.

I agree to you buddy which need to gather enough information all about crypto currencies. Try to watch the video as much as knowledge you could understand. Actually, it so exciting to know all about crypto currencies and time goes by it made it difficult but somehow you will understand. Try also ask those friends of yours who already have enough knowledge about crypto currencies let them to guide you and be humble all the time.

The purchase advice from someone who does not invest is worthless. Advice from someone who invests is risky. The only good investment is one that is supported by your own knowledge and experience, so my advice is to start learning and not invest. When you have knowledge, you will not ask ;)  8)

Media is a good way to know more about bitcoin but dont you know that some of them are paid to write fake news and fake information? nothing is 100% truth, especially newspaper and media. Try to read information on wiki or some book which is written by people who have knowledge about bitcoin and the blockchain.

To begin with, you need to decide what exactly you would like to work in! Basically it all depends on the availability of cash and free time! There are options such as taking part in bounty companies, investing in ICO,and you can still invest in projects!

Title: Re: I'm new to crypto where to start?

First, read the forum section for beginners.
Do not buy crypto coins until you study the forum.
Do not take part in telegram channels, with signals - you will lose all your money.
Create a Twitter account, facebook. Participate in the companies of the bounty, read about the projects in which you participate.
5 months is necessary for you to start to orient and start investing.

What you can do is to read up on bitcoin since it was the one who started it. It may be through articles and news but also try to read up on its whitepaper to get a better grip on how and why it is made. Also, try to look for other things related to bitcoin like wallets, how they are used and such. As you go along, you will be able to encounter terms you are not familiar with so you can look those up.

You will be prone to scams. I would suggest that you find a
friend that you trust and ask for his help. That will be the
easiest way. Also, buying bitcoin depends on your country.

My best advice is to invest a small token amount such as $100 when you're ready, and use this to gain familiarity with joining ICOs, trading coins, and getting a feel for how blockchain works. Use Etherscan, Blockchain info, and other such sites to monitor your transactions. Transfer between exchanges. Transfer back to fiat. Do everything until you fully immerse yourself and it becomes second nature. Watch your $100 coin investments fall, watch some of them rise, learn from that.

When you're now ready to take the plunge, invest a more serious amount but no more than what you can afford to lose.

Welcome. This forum is indeed huge, and there are so many coins out there now. The beginners section is definitely a good place to go. As for learning about coins, I think you should start by limiting yourself to the top 10, and learning about the different types of coin - even the top 3 bitcoin, ethereum and ripple have vastly different uses. Once you have learned about the different types of coin, you will be better placed to analyse some of those outside the top 10.

Dear all,
After I received hundreds of bitcoin and crypto adds on my social media I decided to join the forum to find out more about this blockchain technology. I found this forum huge and have no idea where to start. There is so much to read about. I could use some help to point me to the right direction to catch up with all this stuff here. Any help would be much appreciated.

Maybe I can help a little for you.

First thing you do is to make a post and comments or reply in this forum for your rank to be promoted to JR. Member. You can start posting at the Local Board for you to easy interact. You must make at least 15 post in a first week, then in the second week another 15 post. After that you will be promoted to Jr. Member, try applying for bounty campaign in the BOUNTY Thread and just read and follow the instructions. Check th spreadsheet if you are already included. Then you can start working here.  ;D

I still feel like it is best to start with airdrops. You can get free or very low worth coins by that way. You can start sending receiving and trading with that worthless coins so you get used to markets.

To start off, you could try and read the Beginners and Help thread under Other. I'm pretty sure you know where to find that, and then once you read the important things you need to know then you can go to Bitcoin Discussion or Altcoin Discussion right after you are satisfied with what you read.

Click on Home > scroll down >> under Other > click on that has the title saying Beginners & Help.

but this requires at least a small start-up capital, because all the same even useless coins have a price. I would advise first of all to take part in Bounty companies and thus learn How to do the right analysis of a particular project. And already received as a reward a certain token, with which you can go to the auction on the stock exchange. How will their starting capital and initial knowledge.

This of course a good advice! But it is necessary to mention that earnings on bounty companies is not a quick opportunity to earn! It takes time to work out good accounts!

Try to understand how wallet work eithe4 bitcoin or ethereum and learn to use your own wallet which you can control private key ( not exchanger wallet ). Then learn a history of bitcoin price so you are not panic when price goes down. Only invest 10% of your asset. Dont take loan to buy crypto only your cold money not daily money.

And good luck

I already entered the cryptospace a few months ago, of course along with all the hype that December brought.

However, I feel that I've learned a crap tonne since then and for myself, everything still seems daunting especially this forum! It's huge :D

I recommend that like anything else you'd put money into such as stocks, to do your research, rely upon a number of sources, choose whether you're going to stay for the long term (HODL) or just try and make a 'quick buck' - personally I recommend like I thing the most of people would on this forum and within the community to HODL as crypto isn't to make money, but to literally revolutionise the world around us.

Anyway, away from that tangent.

Just make sure to DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH.

Further recommendations would be to invest in typically 'safer coins' by that I mean coins that are already successful and will be less volatile than an ICO released last week with little info about it.

A coin, such as Ethereum, Monero, NEO etc.

Hope what I said can help you and any others trying to get into the space.

Many thanks,
Virtued

I am also quite new here, and I think that best thing you can do is to go to www.coinmarketcap.com and see what the top coins are. Then , you can make google search for each top coin so learn about them. For example : What is Ethereum ? ; What is Litecoin , etc

I agree to what most contributors have said, and the most important of their advices is DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. Anyhow some fast tips: avoid highly premined altcoins and look for ones with respectable and known developers; in the end, if price manipulation is possible because of high premining and if the roadpmap doesn't get delivered, you're into nothing.

Once you have your feet wet with knowledge only then would I wonder further into bitcointalk.

Hey,
welcome. When I started in december, I did not much research and just investesd in bitcoin. It went pretty good, but a little research and I would probably have made much more money now. There are a quite good coins. The best coins to invest is the coins you can personally identify with and which you support.
I personally have invested quite a big amount in XRP because I think that their technology will be adopted in the future. But also smaller or more unknown projects, like FuzeX I find pretty interesting and invested in their project. Look around, ask people for advice and for their opinion and go for it.

Reddit is fab for crypto news, use coin market cap to get speciifc figures, then explore websites, and check out the team (check out their history) then read the whitepapers and any road maps. Once you have an idea of what you like subscribe to reddit news on them. Regular updates and news stories. Good luck

Agree, motives and aims are important.
First you decide what exactly you want to achieve and what will tell you that the aim is reached. Only after you start moving the chosen direction. If  you do not know what you want, it's a waste of time and effort to go.

Yeah since you are new, then it is your best start while the crypto value are still low. If you have money to invest then purchase now some bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin and ripple or other coins so that if it will rise, you can sell that at a value.

I think it depends on what you want to do with the crypto currencies, if you want to trade I think it's not so complicated just create a Kraken account and then you'll see what you want to invest in, otherwise you can also set up the activity of your bitcointalk account and then sign up for a signature campaign and earn crypto currencies. If not, you can go into mining, but I don't think it's the best thing to do right now.

For a new crypto enthusiast like you, it is safer to invest in a few solid coins and also be on the lookout for solid airdrops. An example is the Marinecoin airdrop where 100% of the coins will be airdropped free to 20,000 community members. Marinecoin can easily be implemented into production environments or any web-based application. It is used by verified individuals and developers and you can be certain it will rise to the top 10 on Coinmarketcap by 2020, infact it was number one on coinmarketcap in 2014. You can find out more at https://marineco.in/ico

If you are new to the cryptocurrency market, I would advise that you spend a lot of time learning a lot of this market, once you really understand it, invest in it. But remember to invest a small amount of money at the start because you need a lot of experience to be successful in this market. Once you know the rules of the market invest more.

Title: Re: I'm new to crypto where to start?
Post by: preshpr1nce on February 22, 2018, 03:09:18 PM
Start off with a very small amount, enough that if you lose it all you don't care.
I did something similar, made some, lost more..but it was the cheapest learning curve which has now set me up in a way where I profit, most people will spend thousands and spend months learning a skill, you can put down $200, spend a few months and come out capable.

Don't make the mistake of throwing money at it in pure optimism, in a market where huge profits are made, huge losses are also made, some one has to lose money for others to make it, don't be one of those sorts and just spend time learning.

These forums are great, do research and read lots, if you see Joe bloggs saying a coin will go 10x, 100x or 1000x, don't buy in to it, too many people advertise their bags and hype it up thinking it'll bring them profit.

The best approach is to research each coin of interest, see if it has a real case and don't invest in coins which are high in the green, fear of missing out is a great way to lose your money, patience is key.

You now have a hard way from knowledge to practical application in the bounty, everyone must go through it, it's like dedication to a more serious level. Especially investing now does not make much sense to you, and I think you do not have much finance for this. Develop and learn from your mistakes, and we can direct you only in the right way.

Stick first on where you want to know or what you want to know, then you can start from there so you won't be confused where to start first. I also was not able to know where to start reading at first but I kept on reading everyday so I can move my way around and so I will be educated at the same time while I was also trying out trading.

First, you have to ask yourself what do you get involve in this cryptocurencies for? Trading or Holding? then start accumulating knowledge before doing anything related to cryptos, choosing a good coin to invest is very important, so you have to do your own research before trading, trading requires a wise head and a lot of practicing.

If I am new (or my mom asks me where to invest), my suggested portfolio (today) will be comprised of;
BTC,
ETH,
NEO,
ICX,
VEN,
XMR,
ARK,
KNC,
ELF,
QTUM,

Good luck!
thank you for all the info you provided
this is a valuable lesson for me to deepen about bitcoin
Because I'm also a beginner in bitcoin

If you are looking for coins beside bitcoin which have potential, then you can always go for Ethereum, Monero, Litecoin.
Ethereum with its smart contracts which can hold state and arbitary code, is the second most popular crypto and can cross the $900 mark by dec 2018.
Monero is the best privacy coin. which makes it accprtrd by many companies and hence shoot up its market value.
Litecoin has shown great stability in the past 3 years and has one of the best development teams behind it. You can have good returns by investing in it.

In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts.
I was asking myself what to do when cryptocurrency goes down and found out that the most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

They are on exchanges right now, you can check their website: https://ethermeta.com/
Or even better go through their Bitcointalk thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2659058.0

There are two ways to get cryptos, one is through mining and the other is through buying them on exchanges. You are better off buying the cryptos on exchanges as you are quite late to the part and mining is only for the big players now.

The first option is the best one. Spending money on bitcoin and holding it is the right thing to do. Only this crypto currency can make a person rich in true sense. All other coins are alternatives which means they should not be given first priority. Everyone wants to earn as much profit as possible within as little time as it can take. Only bitcoin can do this, high benefits in the smallest time.

Welcome to the world of cryptocurrency. You should first decided what your investment goal is. Once you are clear with that, you should set aside the money which you are willing to put in this market. Ensure that you only put that money which you are willing to burn because nothing can be guaranteed in this bearish market. Once you have the money decided, pick a coin where you would want to invest. I would suggest that you begin with a coin that has been listed on multiple exchanges like the IOST. Such coins usually stay stable and would not make your investment go to zero. Also make sure that you follow the market daily for the latest updates and cash out whenever you feel the market might turn ugly.

Investopedia also a great place to start if you are new to investing, you can learn the basic there so you won't get scammed by pump and dump or other scheme.    You should start with regular news reading. You have to know everything that happens on cryptomarket, the main events that can cause the altcoins prices. Learn sites with the coin capitalization. And when you’ll get some knowledge and experience you can read the technical analysis of altcoins.

4. ICO
5. Spreadsheet

And you're good to go...

My priority is my friend, review the comments and topics in the forum. There may be terms you have not heard of before, so it is useful to study them. Then you will have to get a crypto moneybook and open an account on the stock market. From now on, every written comment should be easy to accept your investment advice and remain in your own research.

So I do not understand what you mean, but I will try to give input and information to you.
The first thing is you have to decide what coin you choose, I suggest the bitcoin next you make the wallet.
1. If you are interested in doing trading then your step is to learn the science of buying and selling, you must also be ready for profit and loss, you should always follow the information development of bitcoin value.
2. Mining the bitcoin, which runs the SHA256 hash verification process, initially, you have to prepare the hardware, meet the required tools, join the bitcoin miner's forum, follow the bitcoin development information.

Investing and making the right decisions is very difficult. The most important thing in the world of cryptography is to be experienced, most people who are not experienced lose their money.
Do plenty of research and do not spend too much money learning to trade :)

To begin with check the state of the market and avoild FOMOing with all the money at the same time . Diversify your coins after research and do weekly cost averaging .
That was a very nice suggestion but it might confuse the novice too because it was a little vague. I would suggest him starting from bitcoin or Ethereum because one is the top crypto coin and other is the top altcoin. Both have survived tough situations and gained amazing targets. Other than these two, investing in neo, waves, Litecoin, Monero or Ethereum classic also means profits. But learn to hold in all kind of situations.

Marinecoin has a good model for a crypto currency. It is dev-less, low energy cost and eco friendly. A large community will back this coin that is being air dropped right now. 20 000 coins to new member during ICO period for each promotion in a 24 hr period. Marinecoin is a crypto currency with faster transaction times. The project plan is to attain fair distribution of the coin. The block chain has a light code which makes it easy for new developers to use. It is also a secure block chain, resistant to hackers. No other crypto currency can claim to be dev-less and have the backing of a large community. It is a time tested and stable system, maintained by artificial intelligence. Hi all.3 coins you should definitely consider buying.
1.unify
2.rupx
3.POStoken
All of these coins are under 0.2 $(they were +1$ before)
and now very cheap with low max supply !!!.so if you buy 10-50k of these coins they can be worth more than 50k$ by the end of the year.
All of them are POS.good communities and upcoming features and new exchanges soon to be added.
Read about them,do the math.and think about it.good luck

Don't buy crypto that have already done x10 or x100. The best way is to start from ICO. Than you will buy your coins for the cheapest price, and if the market will be going up you will make some good profit. Best ICOs for now are Nebula AI, Merculet, Lendingblock.

Def. do a lot of reading and youtube videos to learn about Crypto. Then know that it's highly volatile market, don't sell just bc things drop drastically, and lastly only invest what you're willing to lose (risk mitigation).

As far as coins, other than the major 3 (BTC, ETH, and LTC), I believe in this upcoming altcoin ICO in '18. Check it out.

You can use this list of questions to evaluate ICOs:
- Is it an asset-backed security?
Most exchanges require a securities license before they can list securities and most do not have it. Stay away from ICOs which are securities.

- Can this be replaced with a system similar to airmiles?
If the biz model can still work with a points system instead of tokens, then it’s a sign that they are just coming into cryptocurrencies to cashgrab.

- Is the blockchain required
If the infrastructure can work without a blockchain, then it’s also a signal that it is a cashgrab

- Are the team member resumes strong? - have they achieved things before, or are they still in university studying?

- Are they already in a successful business, got network and contacts to make it, see it through?

- Is there are strong business case?

- Do they have an idea which is implementable in reality? Can the concept be integrated in real life?

- Is there a monetisation model? Revenue / Cash flow?

- How easy or difficult is the entry barrier? Can it be easily copied?

- Does the model require tokenization to work?

Get ready for the smart revolution and advent of functional IoT.  Everything from common household appliances to self driving vehicles will be in constant communication with each other and the web.  They will take care of their own mantenance, operating costs, and much more.  In order for this all to be possible there will have to be high speed, flawless transactions which can’t be hacked.  Blockchains are the perfect solution to that problem but current top blockchains are too slow and expensive for IoT applications.  That is where Marînecoîn steps in.  They have developed artificial intelligence to manage the complexities of IoT applications.  To learn more visit their website and read about their current ico. Zero fees for IoT applications.  They have set up a dev-less time tested fair distribution system for the community. marîneco.în/ico

Crypto is more about investing so I would come directly to the main questions. What are the coins that can make a person rich if invested in them and after how much time he would see some real profit? Bitcoin is the most potential coin and it can give biggest amounts of profit in very small time. But it is not a cheap asset at all. Ethereum and Litecoin are also good for investing money.

I would also advise developing patience in one’s nature first before laying step in the grounds of digital market. Then, get to know about the technology behind the cryptocurrency and its application, beyond cryptocurrency.

There is a book known as Mastering bitcoin, whose pdf is available in the internet, free. I would strongly recommend you to start reading that book, which explains cryptocurrency in a simple to understand manner.

Very good suggestion to keep away from altcoin section haha. It is just full of fake sentiments and opinions. My tip is to pay attention to the sections on technical and project discussion. And only take seriously especially from members with Staff rank, perhaps some legendary members with good trust. Learn from their conversations and try not to pay attention to the emotional posts.

So much information, more bad than good. Remember almost everybody has an agenda to profit so be skeptical about everything.

Well this is the time you need to keep one thing in the mind that the crypto market requires certain things from you and you are required to meet those eligibilities to get a market permit for successful trading. You need to have very basic knowledge about the technology and the way it works, strategies, modifying strategies with the changing market condition, long term short term investment tricks, patience and passion. Welcome to the family.

First, you need to determine whether you will be in trade or bounty. If you trade, you need to learn a lot about the cryptocurrencies market as well as the trade experience because trade cryptos are very difficult for those who have not had the experience. If you want to participate the bounty to earn Token, then you should increase your account to at least Jr. Member for approval.

If you are the newbie to the cryptocurrency market, you need to learn a lot of knowledge before you start participating in cryptos. To get the cryptos is not easy, as I personally have to enter this market for at least half a year to start making money by joining bounty and signature campaigns. Just be diligent and eager to learn, I believe you will be successful with this potential cryptocurrency market.

Dear all,
After I received hundreds of bitcoin and crypto adds on my social media I decided to join the forum to find out more about this blockchain technology. I found this forum huge and have no idea where to start. There is so much to read about. I could use some help to point me to the right direction to catch up with all this stuff here. Any help would be much appreciated.
There are so many options for you to start crypto like you can play in trade, mining, bounty campaign, or even airdrop. You can follow everything if you have mastered these things. If you want to plunge into trade and mining, the condition you have to have a large enough capital and master all the science that is in it. But if you do not have the capital and want to increase income, you can join in bounty or airdrop. It all depends on yourself.

what do you want from crypto? a lot of programs or events are available, you must specify it first.
eg some events that I follow that is, ICO, Bounty, Airdrop, and Trading.
if you do not understand about it all, I suggest you to learn through google, there have been many articles that explain it all.

First of all welcome to the cryptocurrency world. I would suggest to create an account to the exchanges like KuCoin, Binance, Bittrex then analyze the different Alt Coins there. Here at Bitcointalk (BCT) will provide all the necessary details in tips and tricks to start. There are also some bounties if you want to campaign ICO's where you will compensated from your task. Hope all the best from you :)

You need to watch the video on YouTube about cryptocurrency. To read and write to communicate with people on bitcointalk. This is a good forum here you will find answers to any question and will always help. And again same to read in Google. There are chat rooms where telegram will always help.

I think the best investment today is the tokens.  It is very important to find a worthy company, the market is now full of waste, and you need to read a lot to choose a normal company, I read a lot and found Socratus.  These people really do their job well

I already saw about Socratus.  Recently I heard more about them, I learned more and I will support the opinion of those who wrote above, I think they can really be trusted, and the project is relevant.

The most important thing is to read and research too much. Then you start making smal investments and learn how to use exchanges. Making mistakes in exchanges and wallets here will cost you a lot of money. So be very careful.

Start by reading about what cryptocurrencies are, study bitcoin and it's chart trends (just to understand it's volatility index), read lots of whitepapers to get a grip on how the different crypto projects solve problems through consensus mechanisms. Understand as much as you can in bits then move up.

The above comments are all true I agree with everything. Most importantly go with:
Full of patience, Understand what market phenomenon is happening or what will happen, Don't debate/don't listen to FUD & Increase HODL if the market is in a stagnant condition.

I would start by investing in the blue chip coins like Bitcoin or Ethereum. As of writing, it is actually a good opportunity to buy the current dip in prices.

To buy these coins i would start by looking at crypto funding options in your local country. If you are in the US you can register a Coinbase (coinbase.com) account and start by depositing your US dollars there. You can then use that USD to buy coins directly from coinbase. More in-depth guides are available, just search google.

The first is that you have to master all the knowledge that exists in the world of cryptocurrency. Because if you can master everything you can easily to join anywhere. You must increase your Rank to be followed by ICO project. You should be able to choose an ICO project that has good potential and promise. If you follow a good ICO project, of course, the results you will get are also great. From these results, you can collect to buy the best crypto coins and you can invest in the long term. But if you do not want to skip this all. You must have enough capital to play the trade.

Good luck!!

These things that you mentioned, do you have any links on the internet, apps where they can be accessed or any medium I can use to get the information? I am referring to Coindesk and Podcasts. Coinmastery in youtube is a no brainer so I can work on that. Thanks.

You ask on the wrong board but since everyone is here to help so they understand your situation.
Read the forum rules, then understand the basic about cryptocurrency, some negative issues but focus on the positive one then you can start for campaign.

For someone new to crypto the best step is to learn about crypto in this forum. I am sure that a lot of information that can make us gain knowledge. Oh yes for people who are new to crypto then do not expect to earn money. Do your best and keep trying to learn little by little.
If you are a newbie and that you have some high goals and expectations from the crypto market, then the only thing which can help you in achieving all your goals is none other than that of your own personal efforts and hard work which you must put in to gather more knowledge and information regarding the things. You must be sure that you are having sufficient knowledge which will then lead you to the success.
