I thought we were already pass the point of debating if China matters.
The price going up with all the FUD from China, with all their exchanges closing down have shown that  the importance of China has vanished.

And now India? Seriously? India?
One of the poorest country on earth, with half of their population unable to afford a regular non segwit tx is going to affect the price?
Let's be honest about it, at list China had Bitmain and mining farms, India has nothing.

Just look at one small thing:  Number of bitcoin nodes in India 58.  Number of nodes in Lithuania 81.

That's damn near half the world in terms of population. China, yes. India, no.

China is the biggest player but Bitcoin's not big in India.

I agree on it. India cannot affect bitcoin value. Many investors are from other countries like Japan, South Korea, US Canada and many more that they contribute the growth of bitcoin because they using digital currency. The issue about China is not new to us. It may affect but not that much. Many investors still really want to invest bitcoin as well.

Without these two countries bitcoin is still surviving and still growing, even though the crypto market  price value will be affected due to less investor now due to happen in this two big country india and china.this massive effect of dumping price value in the market is  only a temporary but i still believe that bitcoin will survive soon in the situation like this before to continue to moving forward towards its legacy.

Bitcoin is a global currency. It is not controlled by any specific area, country or region. The whole currency is decentralized so it is not dependent on few fixed countries like India or China. Rather lives by the support of people throughout the world.
Negative news will affect bitcoin, but those changes will be temporary.

The long term future of bitcoin absolutely does not rely on India & China but short term India & or China banning or putting restrictions on bitcoin unfortunately will affect the price negatively.

The problem is no longer if the country decided to ban bitcoin has a lot or few people who buy and sell bitcoin, if that country ban bitcoin then it is more likely that other countries will follow the same path and this is what many people are worried about , because india is in asia and if india ban bitcoin then other countries of asia could ban bitcoin

but why not for other countries to advance bitcoin in the future including the country that I live in now ..

create some bitcoin community in your country and spread the word and with this you will bring more people to this great community of bitcoin

The problem is that India is a country and being an Asian country to ban bitcoin may be a bad influence for other Asian countries, other Asian countries may follow the same path as India.

The way forward is to simply move on without them. There are too many people that rely too much on the news and information that comes out of China and India to determine their selling and buying points, and that's going to bite them in the ass constantly once there is a shift from those countries and back into the west. It doesn't even make sense in most cases.

There shouldn't be any dependency on these two countries in particular, but it seems like there's nothing that it's something we're going to have to live with despite what we want to happen.

IMO,I think bitcoin do not depend on any government but its technology itself, and if it really depend of any of them, then why to be fret? india is not just the country with a high exchange of crypto currency.I read some news about panic selling, there are people that tends to sell than hold because of the continous slump of bitcoins price, which is not a wise idea.I bet Big whales will be laughing at the moment.

Not India? Ha ha you guys always underestimate India to be a poor country. Do you guys know how much the corrupt Indian politicians and rich people have saved money in Swiss bank. India is definitely influencing the bitcoin price but behind the scenes. Most of the Indian people might be middle class but not India a poorer country. We must not forget that India is the second largest country in population and out of 120 crores, even 1%of the population would be 1.2 crores of bitcoin users.Hope this data would help you guys to get a better picture about India.

If pertaining to the current price of bitcoin yes, China has great effects knowing that it has a large community in crypto currency market that will probably become idle if their ministers will prohibit exchanges and will not support bitcoin but if we are talking to the long term of bitcoin, my answer is not. Bitcoin will remain strong and independent and only it's value will matters

I believe bitcoin's existence doesn't depend on any one country. But consider this: why does banning of  bitcoin make more waves and influence the markets in some countries more than others? In other jurisdictions banning bitcoin doesn't seem to affect the markets greatly

Yes, the existence of bitcoin does not depend on any country, but it is possible for any country to influence it, much as Bitcoin has recently been affected by the ban on most governments.

people have to start learning more about bitcoin and what it means to be a decentralized currency. if they do, they realize that a country "banning" bitcoin makes not much of a difference. it may slow down the process of adoption of bitcoin in that country but it won't stop it. not to mention the "ban" news is 90% of the times a big ass lie.

and i also disagree with saying it was fear recently. the price drop was more of an orchestrated attack. it was some manipulation of price to drop it hard and make a lot of money out of the process.

China and to some extent India are definitely two of the most important markets for Bitcoin. But that doesn't mean that Bitcoin is going to die without these markets. The two largest markets are Japan and the United States, and thankfully we are not facing any major issues with these markets right now. China and India are important, but they are some what disposable.

The existence and future of Bitcoin does not lie in the hands of any one country.

If China and India block the Bitcoin network, bitcoin will indeed be affected for a short period of time, but the system's power is automatically tuned and will soon reduce the difficulty of adaptation. So the future of Bitcoin is not entirely dependent on India and China.

If we "speak" of future, it's hard to tell. Currently they play a huge role, but i dont think that will last. Their very government threatens its existence on their territory, which disables them from competing against other emerging countries. I think you should look at power prices in different countries. Whichever country who offers the cheapest power will probably be a big influencer of crypto in the future.

if bitcoin want to normal again and stable quickly and the good future, I think it's not just china and india who have to do good to bitcoin, but all countries should be able to accept bitcoin. especially china, because china is the biggest crypto trade center.

although the state does not legalize bitcoin, but letting bitcoin also is enough. and if all countries are willing to accept bitcoin and manage it well, bitcoin will benefit and improve their economic center.

I'm a little surprised by what you say  ;D :D. Do not you try to find a lot of information about bitcoin and its future. which country has the largest population involved with bitcoin?
India? I think not, only a few Indians are involved in bitcoin. this is seen from the level of living standards in their country. see japan, almost all people have independent life. this is a big difference. so india and china are the past of bitcoin and other crypto.

I do not think this Indian country will have a significant impact on Bitcoin, but China can influence Bitcoin because China has a large population and fast economic growth. As far as I know, there is currently no explicit ban on bitcoin in China,I think Japan and South Korea's contribution to Bitcoin and the impact is greatest.

Even the Japanese state that legalize bitcoin, which states bitcoin as one of their currencies other than Yen, and has an agency that protects bitcoin consumers could lose $ 400 million on January 2018 ago. It is not impossible that Japan will also ban bitcoin sometime in the future, the more the list of countries that ban bitcoin, it will be difficult for bitcoin to survive

The future of cryptocurrency is not in the hands of these countries. These countries may vanish but they will not be bringing crypto with it. Of course, the market of cryptocurrencies will be affected with such government decisions because we all know that India has so many people and a portion of these huge population is into crypto. I do not think so because India and China are actually reluctant to encrypt the development of money due to the government's religious reasons. Bitcoin does not depend on any country, because it is decentralized and has no binding to any state. Negative information on the crypto currency, coming periodically from different countries, including from China and India, only for a while can affect the course of bitcoin, but it can not affect its future. The future of bitcoin will be directly affected by how quickly it will improve and eliminate its shortcomings. This is just in bitcoin is not observed.

India is one of the largest cryptocurrency users in the world. the remarks of India's finance minister reduced the price of cryptocurrency. but it is really just a media game that raises the problem for no fundamental reason. so fear and panic sell become increasingly unrestricted.

Maybe the future of bitcoin depends on India and China due to the population. The more people starts to use bitcoin, the more its reputation increases, thus the price grows. However, there are still many populated countries besides India and China that will surely save bitcoin. Added to that, many countries will not ban bitcoin and they are going to regulate it, thus people are still going to use it.

if we count the population of India and China - they are huge in numbers and mass people are enthusiastic about Bitcoin there. But no, the future of Bitcoin is not dependent on India or China or both - Bitcoin has it's own kingdom to rule.

Recent  utterances from India's finance minister seem to have stricken fear in the entire cryptocurrency world. Utterances and
government decisions from these  countries seem to have massive effects on cryptocurrencies. What's the way forward for cryptos, especially  bitcoin without these countries.
First of all in India most of them are unknown about Bitcoin and even about crypto currencies. Germany and USA are the top countries that supports bitcoin. And one more thing Chinese people also have one of the main part in supporting bitcoin. China can make sure impact on bitcoin rather than India.

Bitcoin can survive without India and China, but it will be much better if the markets in these two nations exist. Right now I am more concerned with Japan, as it is the only economic super-power which has completely legalized the crypto-currency.

Bitcoin mass adoption depends on the regulations in each country.
To ensure a powerful future and a more stable one you need mass adoption of a product. If you consider Bitcoin a product of the blockchain industry, then just pioneers and early adopters are not enough to make it sustainable.

India, China, South Korea, all hold some contribution to the growth and stability of the coin. That can't be argued. But Bitcoin will still survive without them. Just keep in mind that survival and growth are two separate matters.

Sharp volatility in the price of cryptocurrencies is a particular area of concern for regulators. In contrast, Asia Pacific economies have been less welcoming of cryptocurrencies. Regulators in Asia Pacific have become increasingly uneasy with the rise of cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin.
in indian experts claim that demand outweighs supply in India, pushing the Bitcoin price in the country up to 20% higher than international prices.

Not necessarily future of Bitcoins depends on countries of India and China, because I see Bitcoins can stand on itself even without them. Somehow, these two countries supported cryptocurrency in big part but still there are more countries supporting too.

I don"t Think that bitcoin's future dependent any country or any goverment . If the bitcoin will be usued in all the other country of world India and China will not have a chance expect legalizing the use of bitcoin .
I also thinking that, its doesn't matter for ban/illegal bitcoin any country. People who using, he can't thinks their country government what says. He can use this digital currency.  It affects for soke time.

If both India and China can trust bitcoin, then I think Bitcoin is now one of the world's common currencies, and the two most populous nations recognize bitcoin, which for Bitcoin is at least half of what it costs in the world People accepted it.

However it can't be denied that the two mentioned countries are ine of the biggest user if crypto. And on the other hand, bitcoin is gaining popularity all over the world so if one country backs out it won't diminish the existence of cryptocurrency.

Agree like USA and Germany all big and strong countries are accepting bitcoin so it means if a few countries will not accept bitcoin so it will not affect the price and demand of bitcoin at all. Increasing value of bitcoin is a sign that in future even India will use bitcoin and before this people were saying now India is going to make bitcoin legal currency and use it in future as currency of the country but all I want to say a few countries banning cannot decrease or end the bitcoin.

Bitcoin is huge in Asian countries and without them its difficult for it to survive. South Korea is one of the biggest market and so is Japan its biggest patron. China and India are playing lot of influence on the price and its not good. I hope Japan becomes the no one country cause it likes Bitcoins, other wise India and China can end up destroying Bitcoins. It's difficult to imagine Bitcoins without them.

Bitcoin is now use almost in all countries that has internet, Perhaps, we can call it a global currency, since it is use almost worldwide. Bitcoin is an decentralized currency so it doesn't depend on any governments but there are the two most largest populated countries of the world so their ban may affect the bitcoin price but can not stop using them. But still even their government bans the bitcoin the users can use it and there will be no problem unless they convert them it into fiat.
But I don't think India is against the bitcoin that was a fake news created by the bitcoin haters now india is in the process of regulating the crypto currency since they are linking identification to the local exchanges.

China contribute a lot with btc, so I can say that there are lot of big whales in China with just my expectations.

China has been nothing but an obstacle to Bitcoin's market throughout the years. On top of that, the entire industry has been trolled big time in believing that China was such an important factor, or even the center of Bitcoin as some people were thinking it was. Don't get me wrong, due to China's massive number of inhabitants it's a *potentially* great market for Bitcoin, but regardless of that, it didn't actually show anything of positive nature. If China was that big of a deal, the market would absolutely plummet to the lowest possible bottom, which it didn't. Instead, the market performed better than ever before without the 'contributions' of Chinese exchanges.... Current growth is very decently distributed over many countries in various continents, which means that one country being a problematic factor won't and shouldn't be able to take the market down with it. Be happy with that.

The truth is that Bitcoin is not dependent on any country. At present, China and India are the 2 largest cryptocurrencies in the world. At some point, the cryptocurrencies will be affected by events coming from these two countries. The Chinese New Year, for example, has made the cryptocurrencies fall sharply in the past two weeks, causing the Bitcoin exchange rate to fall to $ 6,000.

The future of Bitcoin doesn't rely on China and India, it relies on people who invested and buy Bitcoin. Not in a country but in the people we depend on. China and India can't collapse Bitcoin if they will not support Bitcoin. Still there are countries supported Bitcoin. If all of the Bitcoiners will unite success will be attain.

This is not the correct statement. Bitcoin is popular and known for being decentralized and does not depend on whether its governments recognize any states or not, whether it be India or China. Even if in your country bitcoin is not recognized as a means of payment you can store it, exchange with your friends and acquaintances. Learn the very technology of transmission and storage of bitcoin, this inspires the admiration of bitcoin. The trend of recent times suggests that bitcoin will more and more be recognized by the governments of states every day and it will increasingly become a full-fledged and everyday payment tool.

They factor into the stability of bitcoin, but I fail to grasp the imagination that it revolves around them on how bitcoin would be for the few years. Grabted they are a major player here in the world, which means that they have a voice in how the economy of the world functions, but they might make a big dent or impact but if the majority of the world agrees or sides with bitcoin then these two no matter their decision will not matter and in a grander scope of things would be agreeing with the rest once this is done

I don't think so. Bitcoin is circulating around the world, and it's not going to die because of bad news from China and India. I think Japan has a bigger impact on bitcoin than China or India.

For me not really. Althoughbthey have been a huge asset towards bitcoin's success, we cannot lie that as of now bitcoin had reached a value one can say that China and India won't due any huge or at the very least cinsiderable damage tp bitcoin's price. Just like now, we can see and observe that bitcoin is recovering quickly and steadily from its losses. Which brought me to think that although these 2 countries have been a huge paticipant towards bitcoin success, bitcoin had already achieved point where losing a great asset won't damage the investment considerably.

No I think bitcoin not just will depend on India and China. It's true that's two country will affect the bitcoin value because they are big investor into bitcoin. Bitcoin does not depend on any country  because it is decentralized, so if those country banning bitcoin there will be another country that support bitcoin.

I think the statement of the Indian government will have a certain impact on the value and development trend of cryptocurrency. However, I think that, like the ban from China, is still a significant accident, but cryptocurrency will continue to evolve and evolve in the future. Prices may fall in the near future and will recover.

I am residing in India and I have to disagree with you. The Indian government is treating all the crypto-users like petty criminals. They have introduced all sorts of legislation to harass the normal users, and they on top of that they want a significant chunk of our earnings as taxes.

Being the resident of India, I am very much aware of situation of BTC in my country. The finance minister of India has clearly declared that government of India has no control over BTC and they are not responsible for any kind of losses regarding BTC but still owning BTC by ur own is not yet illegal in India, one can own it at his own risk, I guess BTC should be positively advertised in India so that more and more people can understand the potential of BTC and obviously the BTC will be  much affected without India and China.

Bitcoin is not dependent to any country or region. If it's dependent, then why do we called it "DECENTRALIZED"? Of course, it's not dependent to any person, country, etc. That's the purpose of bitcoin and the blockchain technology no one owns it, but everybody owns it.

China is the main importer and exporter of goods and services. Digital yuan will help China to internationalize its currency and use it as a substitute for the US dollar, "experts write.

I don't think so. The dependency of bitcoin doesn't come from the exact or specific country. It spreads around the world. They may affect affect bitcoin because some investor bitcoin are there. But it doesn't affect that much for bitcoin. And for China, it's an old story, dude.

The future of bitcoin does not depend in any country like India or China besides there are lot of countries that supported bitcoin.Maybe the price of bitcoin may affect but the popularity of bitcoin is still there.

I don't think so. Now China and Japan are less important to bitcoin than Japan. Now, the impact of Japan's bitcoin reading is far greater than that of Japan and India. Japan has more investors.

Any type of bad news can be momentarily harmful for Bitcoin, but in the long run, Bitcoin will still continue to grow since it does not depend on a country's acceptance.

As a result, nothing concrete has happened, the price is being restored though slowly. But they showed that they can affect the price, which is not very good of course. I think any country that plays a big role in the financial market can affect the prices of cryptocurrencies, and currencies in general.

The history of bitcoin from Japan began and became dependent on countries such as China, but India does not think it will manage currency and assets.

The whole point of the Bitcoin revolution was to have a decentralized and border less currency and technology that surpasses border control and government restrictions. Of course, now it has grown huge and many investors are involved, governments are stepping in to regulate it. China can tighten controls over Bitcoin because China will only support blockchain projects that benefit it as a country. India has declared that Bitcoin is high risk but I doubt it has the human capacity to ban it because of it's political and economic make up. I think without much input form these countries, it may lag behind a little in price, but as other countries develop the technology and move forward, the price will eventually go back up again. I am optimistic with this view point.

I think these two countries cannot affect the future of bitcoin because there are still many countries that are supporting and using bitcoin and i guess that no countries can control the future of bitcoin.

It something having bad effects if one or two countries don't accept cryptocurrency business, but the total bad impact does not form a huge damage on the operation, however it would also affects the total trust of community people that forms a few doubts and fear. But positively thinking, we don't need to worry all about issues, that there are some countries don't like bitcoin business, as long as our country freely open the operations, all we need to do are strongly support bitcoin business, because bitcoin having a good returns to all of us, as a bitcoin enthusiasts.

I do not think so. China only makes the situation of electronic currencies deteriorate. Recently, the Chinese currency has failed despite the fact that the dong has been traded. So if China dominates will make the price of BTC fall deep.

Bitcoin was banned in India before, but then the economists of the country take back his words because he found out that the bitcoin’s economy has nothing to do with the economy of their country. The uniqueness of bitcoin were found and they were so amazed with its development. Currently, the only issue of India in bitcoin is the unstable value of it. They even warned their citizen on not to invest in bitcoin.

I don't know where BTC's future is, but it's definitely not in China!

Many young people in India work in silicon valley, and India's technology is growing faster than China's.

I think India's digital encryption money is growing faster than China's!

No. Even without China or India, we still can mine and promote bitcoins on a large scale. We still have heavy hitters like in South East Asia like Japan, which openly takes in bitcoins and are technologically advanced enough to mine become an industry of bitcoin mining.

India not involve nor they can destroy bitcoin, and Chinese government just ban the use of bitcoin. You're totally wrong they can't decide the future of bitcoins.  Believe me only we can make the future of bitcoin. Its future is in our hands. We contribute for bitcoin and only we're the reason of growth bitcoin. These countries are just against the cryptocurrencies but they can't harm them.

No single government can destroy bitcoins because despite the bans coming from China and the crackdown coming from India, Bitcoin is still standing despite whatever the media and banks throw at it, it is still standing and that means it indeed has a future.

Not really sure about this but yeah I think it is affecting bitcoin in some way. The clampdown by China on crypto-coins is not an unexpected development. The country began moves to block trading back in September along with bans on cryptocurrency fundraising sites and ICOs.

Meanwhile, India's government warned this month it would not recognize cyber-cash as legal tender, and signaled an outright ban on the use of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for illegal purposes and within the country's payment system.

To tell the truth, future of the whole world is dependent on India and China, so Bitcoin also. But even without these two counties Bitcoin will have a prosperous future
