I would assume that the data presented here can be true and really verified. We can see that there can be more countries which are inclined towards accepting Bitcoin albeit many in a regulated environment (which I don't have any problem with because we have to compromise with the government as they also have their own valid concerns to begin with).

I am then sure that what is happening right now with Bitcoin is just a temporary episode and that eventually the whole market can see the whole picture. One country banning or having a big problem with Bitcoin should not be used as a gauge for the whole world. We have been listening too much on news (unfortunately including FUDs) from countries too noisy with the things going on in there and have forgotten that there are more countries silently letting Bitcoin do its business.

Yes we should have information where bitcoin is legal and where it is not, it will help us in trading. Besides, after looking at the list a lot of people on this forum will realize, that bitcoin is not banned everywhere, and it is still legal and accepted in numerous countries, so it will not lose its power.

This is just a checklist of Bitcoin validity which is a huge deal that contributes to Bitcoin transactions. If the country is not allowed to accept the information, they will know that there is a bitcoin transaction in there. Some of the laws work in the government, so the countries that do not get the legitimacy are a little afraid.

Some people might think that this has nothing to do with us but actually having countries supporting and backing bitcoin and other crytpocurrencies because it can help ensure that bitcoin will hold and its market wuld
Not collapse as it means a country is able to integrate it to their economy and that means that yts market would be open to the citizens it employ and it would have security

This is not entirely correct. In Ukraine, bitcoin as a currency has not been officially recognized, and mining bitcoin is illegal. People get arrested for mining bitcoin and their equipment and all the machinery are taken away. The Central Bank does not recommend people to invest in bitcoin, as well as any other cryptocurrency, as it is not reliable, according to them.

Some countries are missing in the list of countries where it is legal, for example Belarus, Georgia and etc. but anyway we see that the number of states where bitcoin is legal and accepted is much more than the number of the countries where it is banned, so it is hopeful picture.

I think the post from the author has clearly stated that there are countries to get legitimacy towards bitcoin and Ukraine is one of them, and of course getting legitimacy doesnt mean bitcoin will be perfectly legal because that means bitcoin will be under law of a country to work with and because of that law and legitimacy still underwork that makes bitcoin hasn't been officially recognized. The government are working to accept bitcoin but hasn't stated that it is a legal kind of payment and transaction so it still blurry

The United States has one of the best approaches as how to treat Bitcoin from a tax perspective. The government simply views the coins as property and you pay a capital gains tax (unless you live in Puerto Rico) when you sell them. You can still get jail time if you sell them in bulk as an unregulated money exchanger but most people wouldn't fall into that category.

More countries should take this simplistic view on how to tax/regulate Bitcoin and stop thinking of it as a currency.

Talking about bitcoin legality, it is directly controlled with the power of government, and the total management power will divided into two, between government and the bitcoin owner, for me it is really bad thing to happen, today we are complaining about the price goes down, how about when bitcoin directly controlled by government that's the time that bitcoin price will become useless, what I'm talking about is price going down to the bottom because of government control system. This is only my opinion and I'm not sure if I'm right.

Not only Bangladesh. It is the problem of all those countries which did not get the legality of Bitcoin. The government's thinks Bitcoin may be a commercially threatened. Advanced countries are thinking how to decentralize bitcoin. However, Bitcoin will further advance in the future. Now there will be nothing illegal. Now, in the approval countries, the study of Bitcoin is underway.

Bitcoin in Morocco
Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency transactions were officially outlawed in Morocco in November 2017 seemingly in response to a major Moroccan digital services company, MTDS, announcing a few days prior that it would begin accepting Bitcoin payments.

Sending and receiving payments via any cryptocurrency in Morocco is punishable by fines.

Bitcoin in Bolivia
Cryptocurrencies have never been legal in Bolivia and the government has been known to enforce its anti-Bitcoin stance rather firmly. People caught using Bitcoin and other cryptocoins can be fined and a number of users have even been arrested on more than one occasion for trading and mining Bitcoin.

Bitcoin in Ecuador
Ecuador outlawed Bitcoin and other cryptocoins in mid-2014 as part of its financial reform plans.

The ban on Bitcoin was seen by many as a way to reduce competition with the country's own digital currency system (Sistema de Dinero Electrónico). This official Ecuadorian currency isn't a cryptocurrency and isn't based on blockchain technology. It's simply a digital money solution based on traditional money and valued after the American dollar.

Anti-Bitcoin laws don't appear to be too strict in Ecuador as there are still several ways to buy and sell Bitcoin and other cryptocoins domestically. Enforcement isn't as strict as other countries like Bolivia and Bitcoin is seen as something that might be technically illegal but is still used by a small number of the population.

Bitcoin in China
The trading of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies was banned in China in September 2017. Due to the technology being so popular in the country before the ban though, the change in law hasn't ceased its use completely and many Chinese people continue to trade cryptocoins via in-person trades and chat apps like Telegram and WeChat.

The Chinese government appears to target professional cryptocurrency trading companies over individuals.

Bitcoin in Nepal
Nepal's stance on many aspects of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is a little ambiguous however it has been confirmed that the trading of Bitcoin is considered illegal following several arrests of Bitcoin traders in 2017 that resulted in a combination of fines and jail terms for those involved. Attempting to use Bitcoin and other cryptocoins in Nepal is not recommended.

but I do not see the country of Indonesia, do you know when Indonesia will legalize bitcoin and crypto? because in secret, the government of Indonesia saving stock in Ripple.

Maybe will some get me wrong and I realy don't like to offend anyone but if you look the list of countries that don't support Bitcoin or even ban it they are completely irrelevant. Maybe there is some strong Bitcoin community but in global ratio those countries can't influence cryptocurrency significantly and their attitude to Bitcoin doesn't create cryptocurrency policies.
I still keep my attitude that modern and civilized countries will not ban Bitcoin and that is the most important.

I agree with you. Most of the countries who do not accept bitcoin yet are countries with bad economies. Well developed countries are more user friendly towards bitcoin. Bangladesh and Bolivia really ? Aren't these two countries two of the most poor countries in the list on this thread ? They cannot do any harm to bitcoin, they are only harming themselves. Bolivia is the extreme case which doesn't let people mine , probably this government want to keep the citizens as poor as they can. Just go watch some documentaries about Bolivia to see how in bad shape this country is.

It's no use arguing about what countries have legalized cryptocurrencies and what countries have not. The point is, that we can see lots of countries already accept cryptocurrencies, just a few do not accept. But in the long run almost every country will accept this new technology. However, there's a huge difference between accepting and legalizing. Governments will legalize and regulate, governments accepting crypto could do this without regulations and that's what crypto is about. But of course, governments want regulations in order to keep control and that's what crypto is against. Cryptocurrencies should be decentralized, but governments will not accept that.

Bitcoin in my country is already use by some affiliated exchange center or even some banks where we can buy or sell bitcoin and exchange BTC to our monetary. I tried it also but I could not say its legal because in our newsbreak late last year our government has been on process to legalize bitcoin as a security comes after much consideration and monitoring along with consultation with its central bank. So as of now bitcoin was not control by our government and central bank.

Bitcoin is legal unless you use it in illegal ways like scam people or something to that extent.
As far as I know, governments have no power over Bitcoin. It has also been said that Bitcoin wallets are very secure/private, so it would be really difficult for anyone to monitor them in case something illegal is going on.

In countries like japan it work with their government to improve their country economy. In countries like Germany and Africa India also accept bitcoin and its profitable advantages. Where as countries like Bangladesh, China, Ecuador Israel etc ban it because of it decentralised nature association with criminal activities etc.

Wrong, not all countries who choose to adapt or embraced bitcoin is technological advance. I even see 3rd world countries on that list. And you can say that to those countries who are hostile against bitcoin as well, not all of them are technologically backward.

It only means that there will be opposing sides whether to accept or reject bitcoin regardless how far advance that nation is. If they see bitcoin as a threat then they will simply will not accept it, specially a perceived threat to their monetary system or some disadvantage they see like bitcoin could be taken advantage of criminals for illegal activities.

What’s more, Bitcoin is not a static technology like conventional fiat money. It constantly evolves along with its ecosystem. Innovating solutions to remove barriers to entry are nothing new for Bitcoin.

There is a huge difference between accepting and legalizing. But of course, the government wants to have rules to control and that's what the crypto is fighting against. Bitcoin in my country has been used by some affiliate exchange centers or even some banks where we can buy or sell bitcoin and exchange BTC with our money. So, the current bitcoin is not controlled by our government and central bank. United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Korea, Sweden Si, Sweden, Turkey, Slovenia, Ukraine, cyprus, Czech Republic, etc. Bitcoin is widely distributed in China, because it can be used to hide the value of offshore, ignoring Chinese control over capital.

This is a welcome news and it will also avail us  the opportunity  to identify those countries that are crypto friendly in case some one is planing  to travel toward those countries. We lost India yesterday to those hostile to crypto so update your list to include India.

The countries that legalize bitcoin are those who on average have become developed countries. They need a breakthrough to accelerate economic growth, one of them through bitcoin. Developing countries are afraid to legalize bitcoin because they know that doing so will make their currencies fall because many of their citizens will use bitcoin

India have banned usage of Crypto currency and all banks have ceased the accounts which were dealing in cryptocurrency. So i think you should put India in Cancellation Country. Their is a legal battel is going between government vs crypto currency exchanges. Till the result comes it is ban to usage and if any public is using that is at their own risk.

As I know, Bitcoin has banned from 21 Countries, and every country has the huge population. This is one reason for the crypto market down. I personally do not care what government job I can clearly see what Bitcoin is capable of and what is its potentials. Bitcoin can really change the world and it has already changed mine. I observed there are a lot of rules which are simply Hold and are not valid in today's generation they need improvement and our lives should be handled by a much more responsible person who actually wants to do the job.

More countries should take this simplistic view on how to tax/regulate Bitcoin and stop thinking of it as a currency.

 ;D
What is that? I think that considering bitcoin as an asset and starting to apply taxes to the owner is indeed a very good choice for a country, but in reality the owners don't want it, because basically bitcoin is money, so it must be used as a payment tool rather than storing media, if only categorized as assets, the function of bitcoin as a currency will disappear, and the era of the currency revolution will stop, and the world will remain controlled by the dollar as an international currency, and this is a monopoly currency system.

There is a basic principle in law: what isn't prohibited by law is legal. In other words, what is legal is not required by law, the law only needs to be clear which is prohibited, and vice versa is legal.
Therefore, according to this logic, bitcoin is in fact legal in most countries of the world, because there are not many countries that explicitly prohibit Bitcoin in the law.

Yes, you are right about that. Its true that Bitcoin is jot banned everywhere there are only a few country that banned it and there are few whom accept it. I think when you say Cryptocurrency some people will say it is not legal and there country but it is also not banned its neutral. Some Government banning Bitcoin because of they want to avoid to used it as a tool to some illegal activities inside their country and lets respect it

I think that the situation in countries where Bitcoin is illegal will change for the better after a while. It is like in the Middle Ages - when those who carried enlightenment and progress, who said that the earth was round, "went against the state." Over time, all the others also came to realize, and then it became legal. The same can be observed with bitcoin.

However, when many countries accept bitcoin at least as a place of trading or investment I hope that everyone who uses bitcoin is used wisely, sooner or later if there are some users who use bitcoin some illegal actions then the government will sooner or later limit the use of bitcoin more dangerous the government will ban it, I hope it won't happen.

In my opinion, maybe a country that still legalizes bitcoin is afraid to lose the use of banks because banks are still very much needed in the country, they are afraid that banks will not be needed anymore.

well, you're right, besides that bitcoin really disturbs the activity of fiat money, because there are some countries that prohibit using bitcoin as a currency. well, but the longer the development of the era will definitely get better, I'm sure bitcoin will be accepted in all countries in the future

As we can see, there are many countries that allows people to participate bitcoin and the government, however there are also some countries that are not allowing bitcoin, they only see bitcoin as a fraud and scam and some other cases that bitcoin may be use by the terorrist to buy rifles, and bitcoin may be use as money laundering.

As far as my know in most of countries crypto is a controversial topic and none of governments want to start that topic in the country because they can't have control over it. But if you look into countries which legalised crypto, you can able to find that these countries are in better economic position than which are not legalised crypto. You can take example of Switzerland, most of famous ICOs come from Switzerland because it is one the friendly country for crypto currency.

I don't think there is any country where bitcoin has been legalized for real. I'm referring here about accepting bitcoin as a national currency that people can use for legal payments at governmental institutions. That's because bitcoin wasn't created to work with governments and the features of blockchain are pretty much against the rules. In the future governments could be ok with people using cryptocurrencies in their country and that's because it's impossible to restrict it and people are anyway going to use it illegally since there is no easy way to get caught.

yes as mentioned there are few countries where bitcoin is banned because of politics and they fear that there will not be any centralized control if bitcoin become legal which they won't want to happen and also there are some free flow of transaction will be there by which some bad people can take advantage and do some scam so be proactive and use btc if your country approved.

I think it also depend on existing bank laws that they are enforcing which bans any kinds of currency that are not in accordance with that laws. Some countries with restrictive regimes might not also allow this kind of decentralized currency because they fully control their economy and their currency. These countries will take time to understand cryptocurrency and blockchain but will eventually allows if the next ruler have full knowledge on these virtual currencies.

In some countries Bitcoin will be legally used by people and they are getting much more efficient we are using them as their normal life but in some countries it will be not approved by the government of that country so it can be changed to approved by the uses of Bitcoin to be normal for all people who are using it because if we legally use the currency it will not good for us and also that country so what is my opinion is the Government of all over the country will definitely think about the legalization of cryptocurrency soon.

That's true. Gold standard evolved for decades till it was accepted by everyone. And the price of gold was the same volatile. I believe Bitcoin can become a new gold to value currencies and other assets. The governments (https://cryptodetail.com/legality-bitcoin-cryptocurrency-world) should accept electronic standard as the new era of economics.

The central bank of Trinidad & Tobago doesn't like bitcoin, still the gov stance is neutral. Its gray at best, unregulated, but they have warned about scams going on etc. Mining is not a problem, electricity is cheap.

Venezuela has not adopted bitcoin. They showed a friendlier attitude in 2018, mostly to support their state centralized attempt at a crypto currency, which resulted in Petro, which has been completely changed at least three times. Its currently a Dash clone modified and absolutely centralized. You have to understand that the gov officials and authorities are very corrupt and there have been several cases of extortion and kidnapping, simply because those involved in mining operations tend to be wealthy. Mining is not supposed to be illegal and was even welcomed by the gov at some point. Buy and sale of bitcoins is mostly done to evade the gov draconian controls to foreign currency exchange. Mining is world's cheapest, but blackouts are common. There is also a hyperinflation crisis going on, the economy is very distorted. Somethings are very cheap, somethings cost triple the international price...

I think that we have to make distiction among countries that regulated Bitcoin and those who didn't. But that doesn't mean that in countries who don't have Bitcoin regulation the use of Bitcoin is illegal, so against the law, it's just not regulated. Also, I'm not aware of countries who declared Bitcoin formaly illegal, so against the law and thus punishable. But at the moment I would say that in most countries the use of Bitcoin is somwhere in the grey zone because most governments are still not sure how to deal with Bitcoin.

Countries that legalize bitcoin are relatively advanced countries, including in the technology, infrastructure, and education level of their citizens. Therefore, acceptance of bitcoin as a digital currency is easily accepted.
While developing countries experience many obstacles in bitcoin acceptance because economic stability and infrastructure are inadequate. Therefore, it takes more time to take policy on bitcoin, until the policy is considered to benefit the government.

Bitcoin regulation in Indonesia is still one of the most basic things and is still in the research stage which is actually only done by a number of parties outside the government, and it seems that it does not want to publish to the public more measurably. The government there is still only focused on fintech which is starting to connect with the blockchain. But not too familiar with the other bitcoin business concepts.

I don't think Lebanon,India,Nigeria and Croatia is legitimacy countries for Bitcoin. A lot of problems and creating many pressures to banned Bitcoin from government and also banking sectors.
If they are not crypto friendly countries then why India implemented a separate group to research about the crypto currencies and their taxation possibilities. So in India or African countries still bitcoin are allowed to use but there is no regulations yet just use it as you want.
You're right mate. In Africa, almost all the countries maintains a neutral stands about cryptocurrencies. It is one of the good continents cryptocurrency experts, miners, merchants and developers can  capitalize, gain roots and build more offices for crypto related operations. Sooner or later, several countries across the globe will begin to legalize crypto just as India has started.

Only a small number of countries reject bitcoin, this is not a big problem.
some countries have no interest because they do not know the progress of blockchain technology.
even though this is a valuable discovery.

Of the many countries in the world, only a small percentage prohibit the use of Bitcoin. So it's clear that Bitcoin has great power and many countries support Bitcoin. So I'm sure Bitcoin will grow well and finally Bitcoin will become a national currency that is recognized by all countries.
Does that mean bitcoin has changed its own system from a decentralized system to centralized system?

Although these thing will never happen because bitcoin is a technology that cannot be regulated by any party, I just deplore what you have said and what you want. I prefer with bitcoin to be used as an alternative payment system which is only done by everyone in certain circumstances, for example to buy goods in the form of online. In this case the government will not ask for a lot of laden for everyone who uses bitcoin, they only need to be a superintendence to the circulation of bitcoin in every country to maintain economic stability.

More countries should take this simplistic view on how to tax/regulate Bitcoin and stop thinking of it as a currency.

I agree with both of you guys. The country will embrace bitcoin, will have nothing against and will even support it if they tax it. Everything is good as long as they have an insight on things, in this case bitcoin transactions, number of owners, pretty much everything about it.
On the other side, its function as a currency as ningrumxxi said will disappear, so as the revolution, but I highly doubt that it can be different on any other way. As you said, current monopoly currency system will remain for now, developers and creators of it are so strong and surely are not willing to let it go.

Well, as you can see, the list of countries is mostly not the most developed countries. Except, perhaps, China. But this country can not be called free.

Trends suggest that developed countries such as Sweden, the USA, Germany, Australia and many others only encourage the development of the field of cryptocurrencies.

Other countries in this article, on the contrary, hamper the development of the segment. By the way, Iceland was recently on this list. But in 2017, the government fully restored the rights of traders, repealing all restrictive laws.

Therefore, there are no prerequisites for banning Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies all over the world. On the contrary, everything suggests that new money will slowly integrate with the mainstream economic system, which will allow a smooth transition into a new world, where coins will also be used along with fiat.

Illegality is caused by fears that it will affect everything that applies in their country, but I believe they are unable to monitor bitcoin users because of too free internet use. But there are indeed things that cannot develop in this country such as public discussions and the development of tiered education regarding crypto assets.

giving it a "legal/illegal" tag is pretty difficult. Most places it's regulated according to the financial laws of the country. Some places it's illegal to use to buy goods and services, but it's perfectly legal to buy and exchange the currency.

That is certainly very influential because it can make a change in the public stigma towards crypto.
it has a big impact because it can also affect prices globally.
Support is necessary because when there is no support, crypto can lose prestige and the price will decrease.

A large portion of the countries you listed are European, and most European countries have an upper limit on financial transactions - beyond which it's illegal to transact via anything but bank wire - and you may be sued for money laundering otherwise.
I suppose it doesn't count if you move your bitcoin between exchanges, but you can't purchase a car/house with bitcoin there.

I believe that there are much more undecided countries about the bitcoin and altcoin than countries that have made it illegal. And another point is that most of the countries that have made it illegal does not welcome other countries for any deal or partnership with other countries in the first place. In short, they only care about theirselves and closeminded people.

Years back when inflation headed up in Zimbabwe experts came up with a suggestion stating adoption of cryptocurrency could let them get rid of the economic crisis. By that time the acting government wasn't able to make good decisions, but just think of Venezuela. They acted at the right time, making it legal will make them the global head in this regard as few countries have got into legal adoption while rest were expected to follow at the earliest.

Not that many actually.

In our country, Bitcoin is accepted or legalized by our government. For some people, it is great news but for most of the people, they don't really care since they don't know what is it or how will they use it. Only a few people know what it is and use it the reason I think even though it is legal to use in our country, it is not that popular.

In most of the countries, Bitcoin is either officially legal or has legal to trade Bitcoin but only 7 countries banned or canceled Bitcoin and its transactions in that countries. We are living in a country where Bitcoin is illegal.
It really depends on the decisions of government institutions in a country. Legal and illegal decisions are indeed in the government, which is why not all countries have bitcoin legality and some are legally recognizing bitcoin. what needs to be done is support from the public, because when a government gets pressure from the public it can make a different decision. let's support and expand bitcoin together.

You are lucky if your government is allowing you to use such nice currency where all other coins seems to be ban only bitcoin in my country are allowed to use, so we are investing in bitcoin we are using it to buy goods and we are saving it for our life time savior, those who forbid it only afraid of high bitcoin acceptance and they can see their regular currency in dark.

Bitcoin is a digital currency, it is not included in the list of prohibited items, so bitcoin in any country is legal. the problem is if the emerging country does not support bitcoin to be used as a medium of exchange, but the state still includes bitcoin in the category of assets or commodity items that can be traded.

for some countries that are still lagging behind in the field of education, economics and technology they have not been able to provide facilities and infrastructure especially in the case of the internet, and not ready for global economic developments so as to maintain the economic stability of the country that is still conventional based they do not legalize bitcoin in the country
Indeed, perhaps those countries are not ready yet, or doesn't have facilities to access this thing, or it is out of their priority. Bitcoin has been widely use across the world and that means it also been used in a wrong way which make it notorious and banned on other countries.

Actually they don't really ban Bitcoin only the Indonesian government is not responsible for criminal acts on cryptocurrency. Currently, the use of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in Indonesia is legal, but the government does not recommend that it be used as a payment but only used for Futures Exchange, which is only limited to trading.

Those countries who have cancelled Bitcoin into their places maybe still do not understand the essence of Bitcoin which is their right to decide because legitimacy of Bitcoin for them seems to be still questionable. It is hard to explain to them to believe Bitcoin's legitimacy but the good thing we must keep in focus is that there are still lots of countries who still believe into Bitcoin's legitimacy. There is still a long time for them to be convinced whether they will believe or not.

In my opinion, the doubt in the legitimacy of bitcoin is a common issue on digital currency since bitcoin and other coins do not have an appereance like the fiat. On my research, there are big countries that consider the bitcoin such a United States, Canada , Australia ans etc. and of course there is also a country that banned bitcoin because of the said issue or they didn't want investors and/or they didn't consider bitcoin for investments such as China, Vietnam, Russia and etc.

If you look at the list of countries abolishing the legitimacy of Bitcoin - it's poor and impoverished countries. The governments of these countries are just afraid that Bitcoin prevents them from controlling people.  Bitcoin gives people freedom - the freedom impermissible by the standards of those countries.

As long as the currency has no regulation it will stay illegal to some country.
This is a fact, there are some or there are economy that will be affected if they will let the BITCOIN circulate in their country.
To be safe, they want it to be regulated first!

It doesn't matter which country allows or not, It means they are taking it seriously. Most of the countries have already taken some measures on behalf of the blockchain system. some are taking it as one of the main concern of the monetary sector. So legal and illegal doesn't carry any importance in this blockchain aspect.
Day by day Blockchain system is getting popular around the world and people are also getting involved in this platform for their present and future purpose. So it's a matter of time when Bitcoin and blockchain will be the mainstream for sure.

Goodluck banning bitcoin. Many things are banned yet people still do/use it. It won't change a damn thing.

Last update news about bitcoin in my country Indonesia become legal transaction, last week our government have announced about bitcoin become legal transaction and it give more distributed bitcoin will be on higher price later.

woah really ? thats cool  . im aware and if im not mistaken , i saw a post last year ( i think ? ) they say that crypto is ban on indonesia but im now happy to see that they are now unbanning cryptos again  . this might be the reason on why the crypto market  is starting to recover again and not only that , this event can make an influence to the price of cryptos on the latter stage .

i just hope that the unabanning of cryptos can also be adopted on other stricter countries that banned cryptocurrencies before . luckily our country is not involved on these restrictions  .

I think they just say they do not recommend it so there no tears later from clueless people. I mean what else would they say? They wouldn't recommend any other currency but their own. Especially a new currency that is not fiat and traditional.

The countries where Bitcoin is legal is rising by the numbers. And it is undeniable that this huge step by these countries will be a basis for other countries to consider the same. By and by, after one country after another legalizes Bitcoin, those which remain against Bitcoin will be finally convinced. The adoption of Bitcoin is the acceptance of new technologies that will push the walls of the playing field farther, giving the people an alternative mode of payment as a result.

Bitcoin is becoming popular day by day. Reduce people's interest in easy transactions and price Rise. Some countries questioned the legitimacy and questioned. However, many countries of the world have given legitimacy to Bitcoin. We need to know about this issue for those new people. Those who did not know what to expect and would benefit them. Bitcoin countries to get legitimacy:

During its decade of appearance, the adoption of Bitcoin has grown very rapidly. The cryptocurrency with the largest capitalization in the world has been legally accepted in more than 100 countries. While in many other countries, the legal status of Bitcoin is still doubtful or regulated by a number of restrictions. However, there is the most widely used currency in trading fiat-Bitcoin currencies. One of them is the Nigerian naira currency. In that country, Bitcoin has not yet obtained official legal status. But in the fiat-Bitcoin trade, Naira controlled a market share of around 0.03 percent (239.35 BTC). As for countries where Bitcoin is considered illegal, there are not many. Only 10 countries, namely Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Pakistan, Qatar, Republic of Macedonia, Saudi Arabia, Vanuatu, and Vietnam.

While countries where Bitcoin is classified as "limited" there are nine countries. Two of them are the largest countries, namely China and India. The fact that bitcoin can be used anonymously to conduct transactions between users, anywhere in the world, makes it very attractive to carry out criminal activities such as money laundering. So, the government accuses digital currency of being a tool for criminals to buy and sell illegal goods such as drugs or weapons even though it is a false accusation.

In anyhow success of bitcoin will push those countries who still unconvinced of this industry, bitcoin will be there to grow as a alternative means for payments a cryptocurrency where people are free to transact directly from wallet to wallet without any interfere from any banking institutions, the usage of this currency if being adopted will lessen the delays of third party services and from that point of views other non believing countries will be convince that there's really a use for this alternative currency.

The fact is that we can take for example India and the United States of America, where there are negative statements regarding cryptocurrency.  But at the same time, quite a lot of cryptocurrency exchanges and cryptocurrency companies operate in the United States, which already have official registration.  And in India, negative statements are supported by negative intentions, which can lead to criminal liability for the use of cryptocurrency.

Countries keep on adopting bitcoin same time countries keeps reviewing whether it needs to be legalized or not. On the other side there were a set a countries that doesn't give any statement. However till date more countries that stood against cryptocurrency have been getting into regulated use of cryptocurrency. This is a big success. This will continue, and peer to peer technology gets used beyond any kind of restrictions. This way the usage will count.

Although the present government here in my country did not yet legalize the cryptocurrency, they welcomes the idea of using it as a alternative currency by the people. Local central bank are now crafting a regulation for the use of cryptocurrency before finally legalizing it. In the coming years, some countries that bans cryptocurrencies will finally give in to the clamor of their citizens to allow the use of the coins in their country, one fine example is China.

None! The problem with Bitcoin is that it disrupts the system. There will be many people, your politicians included, and businesses within the current rotten system that will be displaced with the adoption of Bitcoin. They wouldn't be happy with that.

Anyway, the figure is nice. At the very least, we have the developed and advanced countries on the side of Bitcoin's legalization. They are also much more huge in number as compared to those which are against Bitcoin's legalization.

For me, bitcoin will be legal and illegal to some countries because of the tradition, beliefs, economic state, security, and many more. Some country prohibited it because of the issue of bitcoin and its capability that can transact an operation that hard to encrypt who is the user behind on it. Also, some countries can’t catch-up to the technology, especially to the third world states. I hope too the country that doesn’t already ban bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies finish their work and accept bitcoin and another cryptocurrency.  :)

But also at the same time there are positive statements from the US at least,,, and you can even read some Indian ministers like crypto and say there is no ban. Like you point out, the fact that you can get a license in US means at least there is some regulation going on and people cannot just simply open a scam exchange at will. That I like about regulation.

I do not believe in this. I mean. Do you really think that the government of at least one country wants to destroy its economy? Bitcoin is created just for this. Deliver us from intermediary. And the state is exactly the same intermediary.
When I hear about the legalization of BTC. I hear about total control BTC.

Oh yes, i live in one. Something about Lenin saying that destroying the currency and the economy also destroys the capitalists. The only result of this dogma is the masses impoverished even worse than before, since those with the means could flee or remain in positions of power after the "revolution"...

Ask yourself this question: What country in this world has its coin valued less than 1 satoshi? And incidentally, which coin has the highest inflation right now?

Yup, "government" wanting to destroy its economy exists, its right here come and see for yourself... (or better don't, you could get in serious trouble).

Countries such as Indonesia and Nigeria hasn't taken a hostile stance towards Bitcoin (unlike the case with China and India). They are likely to wait for sometime before finalizing the strategy. I am not very excited about the future prospects of Bitcoin in third world nations, because most of these governments are not going to be comfortable with a decentralized quasi-anonymous currency.

The stance taken by the US government is going to set a precedent. As of now, it is 100% legal to own and trade Bitcoins in the United States. However, the recent statements by Donald Trump indicates a possibility that the government may take a more hostile stance.

Many countries in this list are in the same (neutral) position. technically not illegal, but still not embraced, or adopted. I can tell you the people from the central bank of one of the countries mentioned in the "legal" list don't like Bitcoin. That country is actually neutral, but they have an exchange "control" that you could technically violate using bitcoin (and several people do that). Unattended, this could lead to illegalization due to politicians being ignorant and fearful that their pretty "controls" are getting ruined (people out there that condemn the free market) by evil Bitcoin.

And my country isn't even listed which is even more hilarious, but lets ignore mine, satoshis are now worth more than our fiat anyway.

Yes, that is a barrier but if Indonesia has a channel to convert OTC to national currencies, it will be a way to motivate people to own Bitcoin and other currencies. For other travelers it is extremely inconvenient because it takes them time to convert to another currency. Hopefully the future has a kind of wallet that could allow the conversion of Bitcoin and crypto types into national currencies.

I don't think that they have banned it in anyway. However I heard that they wanted to create their own crypto, named "Petro". So similar to many other countries, the legal status can be defined as grey (undefined). They haven't jailed anyone for using Bitcoin yet. So be cool and continue to use Bitcoin.

I think Petro has already been used by Venezuela in more than a year. This was their response to a spiraling value of their Bolivar, which they highly think as a result of subtle interference by western countries, particularly the United States. Venezuela airports use cryptocurrency already. To avoid sanctions, even the government uses Bitcoin. Some ex-Soviet countries that reject crypto would have to accept it finally, as people really need it much.

So, even there is no specific law about bitcoin or crypto, it's fully legal to use bitcoin everywhere.

Right now, with a very high inflation and Bolivar almost left valueless, the rise of Bitcoin is apparent. Venezuela should be listed together with countries where Bitcoin is considered legal.

Its regulated in theory, and you are supposed to use a State approved exchange (which nobody does). I suppose the idea is that these exchanges are taxed.

Petro is separate, completely government controlled. You can sell your crypto for Petros, and they do require KYC.

You say we use Petro but that is not true, almost no one uses crypto of any sort, very rarely you see a shop or two accept bitcoin, dash or ethereum, but that's like 1 in a million.

The reason for hyperinflation is the old fashioned State abuse and manipulation of the currency. "Printing like there is no tomorrow" basically, and blaming anybody else, especially the "Evil American Empire", because that's the preferred rhetoric here (and yes, they use those words literally, to refer to the USA).

Truth of the matter is they ran out of money to keep paying wages and such and resorted to this. Sounds idiotic? It is. It became apparent in 2014, everyone warned Maduro but he didn't care and did it anyway. Not unlike Mugabe, with identical results. Some people act like that after they taste power, and they think they can control human nature by force, including the market, which they believe shouldn't be free but State controlled.

In the middle of this someone sold them the idea to make a token as a means to catch money, as many countries were refusing to give any more loans due to Venezuela being unable to pay back with anything but oil, and that production has reduced to a third of what it used to be a couple of decades ago (again, serious mismanagement). They did in fact manage to catch some money, which was wasted and probably used to fill their pockets as usual, the country is worse than ever, and Petro did nothing. You cannot compare it with Bitcoin, which indeed some people use for survival.

Bitcoin is not illegal and never was, not even before the gov got involved, but like in Ukraine authorities here abused the lack of legislation to extort, kidnap and ransom miners. Things changed a bit in the last two years but also this year the electric grid collapsed due to dire lack of maintenance and mass quitting of underpaid workers (and its a "State Socialist company", go figure).

And yes, there are rumors some of the gov people actually mine themselves, they have shown "someone's" mining farm before on State TV. With most of the country having frequent (and in many places long) blackouts, brownouts, and several short interruptions, pretty much guaranteed to burn anything you plug without some sort of delay line conditioning protection.

Can you please share us the source of this, Our country is indeed in the list to get legitimacy but I still want to know the source.

Good thing that our country is not against crypto and even some merchants are accepting cryptocurrency as a mode of payment which is really convenient. Our government is just making the public cautious in investing money since there are other people who are attracting newbies thru ponzi scheme. I hopr more and more countries would start adopting crypto.
The same in our country, government is not against bitcoin, they focus more on major problems than spending money to stop bitcoin from circulating in our country. They just make a few announcement to aware the public from investment scam.

so what? there is no change for me like before and after the ban. I can sell and buy bitcoins through the same channels as before..
so how was is said  : the strictness of the laws is compensated by the non-binding nature of their execution  ::)

Bitcoin has been given the list of validity and cancellation.

Our country faced plenty of issues regarding crypto but it just lasted for a few months, the government before were trying to have a hold on bitcoin but now, after the sudden downfall of its price, they are back to ignoring the existence of crypto. I actually like it that way but I am worried that when bitcoin's price comes back up, the government would again start giving regulations on it.

Bangladesh government decides to open the door for the Blockchain within next year. The PM already announced it. It seems in Bangladesh, Cryptocurrency will be regulated, but still, this is very good news. I believe soon or later, all countries will accept cryptocurrency and they will adopt with Blockchain technology.

Actually it is very difficult for every country to legalize bitcoin as a means of payment, and these countries do not want to destroy their currencies that they have long applied

I hate this kind of thinking to be honest. The Government should be the one who is flexible or open minded when it comes to new things in the modern world, but what's happening for most of the Government is they are doubting bitcoin even though they don't know the whole story about it. First impressions are always wrong, so I'm always wondering when will be the time where all of the Government will have the same mindset like Japan and other countries who legalized bitcoin and implemented it to be use in every day living.

Government here in our country in narrowminded to ignore such gorgeous inventions like Bitcoin. It is sad, how government concluded already that cryptocurrency is not safe because of the majority saying it is just a scam, I pity their poor souls and small brains.

You should add this two communist countries, that didn't accept and banned bitcoin which was reported last year. China and Vietnam.

Yes, Why not put China, Russia, Sweden, Thailand, Iceland, and India among the cancellation list?
Based on the information found on ccn.com (popularly known as CryptoCoinNews) these countries all banned the use of bitcoin openly.

Here i found Switzerland based Sirin Lab's will be launched world first blockchain smartphone in BD. Even in the running years Bangladesh National Budget, Government interested to work with Blockchain platform and good amount dollar already reserved for that. I think this is very positive thing.

In my country Nigeria, there has been a massive upsurge in the knowledge and usage of crypto and this is as a result of platforms like this that promote and give a depth of understanding of crypto. People fear what they don't understand. The more the decimation of information, the lesser the fear of the unknown. I really believe it would soon be legalised in Nigeria because it is being embraced by a great number of the  populace.

they can try to illegally eyes Bitcoin, but they will never succeed. The technology doesn't allow for it to be blocked or banned. Anyone can download a crypto wallet on their phone, and start buying and selling Bitcoin. Yes it may be more difficult in some countries, but where there's a will there's a way.

Yes that's because most Nigerians these days are scammers. They can't resist scammer game, and they need that big point at their nefarious activities. It's all right, well, not really but the current politicians lack competence to stop it so it is what it is.

Today many more countries are not yet open-minded and ready to accept the bitcoin and cryptosystem, as they are still closed. Even if the country recognizes blockchain technology maybe the time will come when they will also realize that blockchain technology will be of great help to every government in the country. Thank goodness I even accept the country where I own Bitcoin and crypto.

Well this really sucks, digital currency is sure for the next generation the government need to come forward and take initial steps to make it legal, yes a lot of country are still not accepting crypto currency as a legal one but they should have some rules and regulations like do's and don't. If this works well and good people will cope according to the instruction.

Especially in some big populated countries like India where the crowd is in big numbers if they start accepting crypto the value coins will sky rocket again.

By reading the data you provide that Bitcoin is indeed a trend. We know that this Bitcoin can give people a lot of work that is capable of generating great profits. Especially in today's digital era, many people would prefer it to work online. Bitcoin is an excellent choice in developing your business world.

Bitcoin will definitely add to the industry quality. Governments should be able to manage Bitcoin so that it will attract more investors. And hope that the whole world can develop Bitcoin.

When my country legal bitcoin? so far I am glad with my country still allowed bitcoin as investment or using for trading way but not legal become payment transaction only, by the way I want to travel to other country have legal bitcoin as Bolivia, Japan and other country.
For you to travel out of your country which doesn't called bitcoin illegal may just be a waste if resources, if you ask me.
My own country has not place bitcoin as illegal, so, I still go about my usual ways in doing transaction. Although the government here has not legalize bitcoin but still yet not illegal, I think there will be no need to find refuge else where in order to spend my starch of cryptocurrency.

It is just sad knowing a lot of countries banned bitcoin. Although it was indeed a great opportunity for the individual, and for country itself as well. Well, bitcoin is a big risk on the other but a big opportunity has a big risk as well, we should sacrifice in order to gain back. I just wondering what made them block this great opportunity besides from the risk of losing money, and as well the unwell purpose of use.

^ Probably they will realize soon how bitcoin useful in economic growth and also how useful the system behind on this bitcoin or in crypto in general. Probably it is because there are some countries who that don't trust bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies the reason why some countries don't allow or banning bitcoin it just because they believe that it is a threat to the government and also some people use it in their illegal transactions most especially in the dark web( which government afraid of).

It is difficult to distinguish what is legal and illegal without clear regulations, for example in my country you can own bitcoin but using it to pay is illegal. The government will also not solve bitcoin dispute fraud issues because there are no regulations, and most people think it is a scam.
Which is a good point. There's countries who don't have a difinite stand regarding to this matter, you can use the coin without any restrictions but in terms of government regulations there's no statement that being provided if how the government treat this crypto currency.
There's always good and bad sides of this industry, you need to have your own understanding from how the government treated the system.

In the country where I live including the State of law, bitcoin is in a legal or illegal position because everyone can still use bitcoin for investment, trading or other things, but I have not found bitcoin to be used as a sale or purchase transaction or other. transaction. payment and if I want to buy goods, I have to exchange bitcoin for real money to be able to use any payment or purchase.
so for me to be legal or illegal there is no problem, and as long as I can use bitcoin I will use it well and what I worry about is not being allowed to use bitcoin in total.

Definitely your right mate, even bitcoin is legal or illegal people can invest and have an right to have own bitcoin or crypto currency because digital, currency is anonymous ownership as decentralized currency use by new technology and because of the new technology bitcoin users increase day by day because of the he
P of the new technology system internet news and medias.

There are really a lot of countries who restricted bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies because they assume that it is all a fraud or a scam, that is why a lot of people don't beliebe that investing in bitcoin and cryptocurrency is not that profitable. But they are all wrong because investing in bitcoin and in crypto can help the economy of a country to be better like it can decrease unemployed people for them to provide their basic needs. A lot of country also legalized bitcoin because they saw that bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is really helpful for every individuals.

It doesn't matter if they make it "illegal" bitcoin was created in such a way that this situation was already planned for.
I am not so sure these countries it is illegal to use them in. I just think they really don't support bitcoin. Making a currency illegal is like so against human rights.

I don't think of a country where cryptocurrency are legal. Countries live with taxes and can provide social services to citizens.
There are many countries where bitcoin is legal if you are not aware of it including Japan, Switzerland, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom, Germany, Singapore and the list goes on. Every country is sustaining because they are collecting taxes from their citizens and what is wrong in it, if any government is looting you then you can complaint about it.

If they can get tax on bitcoin transfers, you are king in your country
I am not sure what do you mean here  ::).

If 7 billions say bitcoin is MONEY and fair then 170 governments are not listening to the world. Fortunately, 10 years of existence is exactly why they can’t stop Bitcoin. By the time government started to care, it was already too late. There were many stories in 2017 about banks trying to do problems with it, I even know a few first hand stories about banks refusing to accept withdrawals. The fact that there isn’t an organization behind it and that Satoshi doesn’t exist is what make it hard for them to fight it. To stop bitcoin all governments on earth would have to agree to collaborate, and it never happened in human history.
