Ok - time for some updates.

1 - A bug was found today that has affected the pool for around 24 hours. This caused some Megacoin blocks not to be recorded as solved and therefore not paid out. After several, hair tearing, hours of bug hunting the problem was found and resolved. These blocks will be paid out shortly. Apologies for any inconvenience this caused.

2 - Minor changes have been made to the stats pages.

3 - Fastcoin pool has been temporarily halted as it is just slowing down both the stratum server and the processing system too much (insert irony emoticon here). After eliminating all other possibilities I think fastcoin just needs more server resources. Once the new dedicated server is up (not VPS) a new stratum instance will be setup - hopefully this solves the slow fastcoin problem  :P

4 - Added SHA256 coin support - Zetacoin pool has been added.

5 - A new dedicated stratum server (SSD with 32GB  ;D) coming online shortly!

Apologies for the website problems in the last 12 hours.

I fixed a problem before going to bed and forgot to delete old lock files... Doh! Mining was unaffected - it was just the stats on the website were not being updated.

Will be moving the website to a dedicated server in the next few days - the VPS the website (not stratum servers) is currently running on is struggling.

^- Yeah man, I agree with him. Your pool client/server setup is messed up. Would love to keep mining on your pool.. if you don't mind sending me the coins it says I've earned ;) Almost a whole day wasted.

Going to move my small growing farm and switch pools otherwise.

I have 12Mhash , I lost half day mining in your pool + 100 DGC that your autopayment send to old version wallet.
So bye bye...

Sorry guys - did not even notice the messages on this thread until now.

Apologies for the error in not updating the Digitalcoin client in time. I actually had updated 1 of the 3 stratum servers and got sidetracked that day and forgot I had not updated the other 2 - my bad.

On next Digitalcoin update (for reduced block rewards) will update early!!

Miningpool.co will be moving the website to a new dedicated server sometime today. The server has been ordered so as soon as we have access the process will begin.

Should be a massive performance increase from the 2GB VPS the site currently sits on to a dedicated 32GB machine with dual SSD drives  :D

MINING WILL NOT BE AFFECTED. The website / stats may not be accessible for a few hours but all mining servers will remain operational. As soon as the main pool system is back online all outstanding shares will be processed as normal.

Apologies in advance for the downtime.

Stats updates have now been halted as we begin the move to the new server.

I expect the move to take around 2 hours - all going according to plan.

Mining is not affected.

www.MiningPool.co has been migrated successfully and I am happy to say page loads are much faster now.

Just waiting for DNS to propagate now - will probably be a few hours.

For those of you who cannot wait and know how to edit your hosts file the new server is located at 144.76.94.182

UPDATES

Added:

Worldcoin
Unobtanium
Asiccoin
Joulecoin

Removed:

Diamondcoin has been disabled for 2 reasons: 1 - No one was mining it anymore. 2 - It was using up 25% of server cpu resources.

Is megacoin working right or am I just having horrible luck? Been mining for hours, getting 0 earnings.

Also, I don't mean to clutter your announcement thread, so lmk if you have a support thread elsewhere.

Yes, all working correctly its just Megacoin confirms are a little slow at the moment.

You started mining at about 10:30 pool time. As I write this blocks that were mined at around 10:30 are just reaching the required number of confirms.

https://www.miningpool.co/stats/MEC/?sbc=100

So you should start to see you earnings coming through from now.

Yeah I see it now, thanks for checking into it. I'm pointing some more hashing power this way right now and will let it do its thing :)

BTW the 'exchange value' stat, am I correct in that ut shows what your current account balance could potentially be exchanged for?

Yes, that is correct the 'exchange value' is calculated as your current balance x the current exchange rate.

I´ve just started using your pool today. So far, so good. I like it.

Where´s the exchange ratio coming from? It would be nice to see the "Exchanged value" in BTC too.

Is there any app for iOS/Android to check stalled workers?

Keep up the good job!

Is it possible to show the source of the exchange rate info? I ask because MEC is showing LTC/MEC .05 but when I checked Cryptsy it was .005. Had me excited for a second lol..

Thanks -

The exchange rate comes from Cryptsy, updated every minute or so.

An Android app is on the todo list. No ETA at this stage yet. Will be done after I redesign the dashboard.

Hmm, strange that it was showing 0.05 LTC/MEC

I just checked and it seems to be back to normal 0.00530210 LTC/MEC

Rates come from the Cryptsy API.

Thanks for the update, loving the pool.

I might've also been looking at the exchanged rate vs the exchange rate, I'm still not quite awake, so pardon that. The thought of it having been .05 jolted me though.

No, should be fine. Can you be more specific? Did you have a share in a block that has confirmed that did not show up or are you meaning there have been no new blocks found for many hours?

If you mean that new blocks are not showing up its because they are not being found. The pool hash rate for TAG is very low (2526 KH/s) and the difficulty is very high (56.3509) so estimated block time on the pool is currently at 27 Hours 1 Minutes 56.2 Seconds which in theory means it could take anywhere up to 4 days to find a block  ???

4 - 5 hours of mining, and nothing credited in my balance.  ???

Hoping we get some good luck going in TAG, I've had some of my systems pointed to the pool for almost 11 hours now with no results. The other pool I'm on has about 6x the power and is finding about 2 blocks an hour. We should hopefully be finding 1 every 4-5 hours.

The TAG pool worked ok, payout came fine. It only takes a lot of time to confirm.

On the WDC side... no answers. I mined for hours (after updated pool, new wallet ok) and still shows "pending" on shares and blocks. Blocks with +1000 confirmations...not payed out.  >:(

There was a 51% / double spend attack on Worldcoin.

As a result the block chain got wound back a few thousand blocks.

The reason a number of blocks are showing as still pending is because they had already been paid out before the attack. The pool did not actually get double the amount of coins so it was impossible to pay out those coins again. The pool has since been working fine and all recent blocks are being paid out as normal.

I am sorry for this problem but it was out of our hands and the decision to roll back the block chain caused the pool real problems.

However, I recently switched over to mine WDC and I'm getting like a 50% stale rate which hasnt happened on any of your other coins. Is this related to the 51% attack? Could you look into this please?

Not entirely sure what happened, but I mined for a while last night on tagcoins, and it was showing shares and % on block 7017; however it shows 0/0% in the history now that they are on a new block. It's not confirmed yet, but my 1-2% share contribution appears to have been lost?

I haven't had this issue on megacoins, even prior to confirmation, so it may be related to the particular coins.

Any help would be appreciated. (EDIT, image: https://i.imgur.com/nXpOasF.png)

EDIT2: my shares are showing up on the subsequent cube that started this morning? This is confusing. Can you please look into it? I just want to make sure my shares didn't get lost somewhere.

Mined again on tagcoins last night, similar issue. Not showing up in log, even when a new block was moved to. Have no way of tracking or monitoring what I'm mining. Something is going on with the tagcoins, can you please fix it or clarify?

ethought, the mec pool is having trouble. It's not recording any hashrate or share at the moment.
I'm trying the us, ch1, and de1 to no avail. It's still not recorded.
Does it has something to do with the closing of the au one that somehow affects all server?
Cgminer is still hashing but not recorded on the web whatsoever.

Please investigate asap. Thanks.

I think the problem was being caused by a rogue Zetacoin client on ch1.miningpool.co that was eating up the CPU - was causing very slow connections to the db on that server.

The problem should be resolved now, but I will keep an eye on it as the system still seems to be processing a little slower than I would like.

in fact, it's been going up and down for the last couple of hours.
is it a traffic problem? does it has something to do with the new guy came in with 50k hash ? lol

also, were those shares while hashrate down counted? because while the hashrate shown is zero, my miner keep hashing like normal, and shares shown as accepted.

Yes, had some problems again with the Megacoin pool. I finally tracked the problem down to a bad Fastcoin client that was just about killing one of the servers and causing delays on all data access to one of the stratum servers from the master pool server. I have since removed that fastcoin client and added more resources to that particular server and that seems to have solved the problem.

Apologies for the intermittent problems over the last few days.

Also, as explained in the FAQ, when one client is down stats are paused but the other stratum servers (in the case of Megacoin the other 3 Stratum servers) keep running normally and once conectivity is restored to all stratum servers all accepted shares are counted and paid out as normal. That is part of the reason there are redundant stratum servers, so if one dies you can keep hashing on the others in the meantime. The only thing that stops working are the front end stats. The reason the stats stop updating is so that the system does not miss paying out shares that were on the stratum server that is no longer contactable before it became inaccessible - if that makes any sense.

As I mentioned above there were some problems with the pool over the last couple of days which involved a Fastcoin client / stratum instance.

These issues should now be resolved as I have removed the bad Fastcoin stratum instance. ch1.miningpool.co is no longer useable for Fastcoin.

Please let me know if you see any further problems.

Seems to be a problem with chrome, works ok with IE *spit* :)

Also in chrome the information link doesn't work, nor do the buttons on the settings page to add pools to the dashboard

Once they are updated though IE they then appear in chrome ok.

I just tested in FF and chrome on Windows and Linux and all seem to be working without any problems for me.

Not sure what to suggest... Have you tried closing down all browser windows? Clearing the cache?

I seem to have an autopayment issue. I currently have autopayment set to 2 SBC, but I currently have accumulated over 6 SBC and those coins aren't being withdrawn.  Is the autopayment system working?

Yes, the payment script froze at around 04:00 (pool time).

I just restarted it and payments are processing now, it may take a little while to get through the backlog.

Apologies for the delays.

Hi, just a fast question.

Why is it that I mined for like 20 hours with 920 ksh and only got 5 coins?

Edit.: thought it would atleast be 10 since the calculator indicates 16 with the current diff and the 920 being my /ssecond fix performance.

Megacoin, sorry forgot to write it.

In my experience, there's always some variance. The coinwarz calculator estimates around 10-11 in ideal circumstances with a solid 900kh for 24 hours.

Hopefully ethought will respond soon, he's usually really good about it.

Something else to think about, just wait awhile and some more earnings may come through once they've confirmed.

Sorry to hear about that. I have found Megacoin is usually the most stable of all miningpool.co pools.

Usually there is some variance, and lately difficulty has been rising. Even so you should have received more like 8 - 9 coins after 20 hours. Be aware also that it can take a few hours for blocks that you have shares in to confirm and coins to come through.

I mine on the Megacoin pool 24/7 and I find sometimes what you get in 24 hours is a little below the estimates and sometimes a little above. It really depends on the luck of the pool.

There are other factors that can affect your earnings as well such as internet connectivity problems and miner settings that may be causing high numbers of rejected shares.

Maybe try one of the other stratum servers listed if you have not already.

Added a new Canadian based stratum server:

ca1.miningpool.co

Coins added to this server so far are:

Megacoin
Fastcoin
Unobtanium

Hopefullly this helps with the Fastcoin load problems.

What kind of bullshit pool is this ?

My new miner is mining for 20 hours already with average hash 800kh/s

Pool dashboard says:
Estimate (24h Avg.)    2.55 FRK / 24 Hours

Mined (Last 24 Hours)    1.74424212 FRK ... ???????? WTF ?

I should have mined 2.12 FRK ...

Yes my miner do mine without interruptions ...

where the hell is 0.45 FRK ? looks like 2% pool fee is 30 % real fee

There was an issue with the Grandcoin pool as the large warning at the top of the GDC stats page warned.

More information can be found here: https://github.com/moopless/stratum-mining-litecoin/issues/48

As such the Grandcoin pool has now been closed until this issue can be resolved.

With difficulty changing frequently on some of these coins, as well as network hashrate, calculation estimates should be taken lightly. I've sometimes seen 10-20% variance of estimate vs output, regardless of which pool I'm on.

Yes but I see 30 - 50 % variation ... always against me of course :) I am doing 2nd test, already running for 7 hours ... will give you picture after 24 hours, but my own ESTIMATE projections is that .. I will receive only 50 % of number of coins i have to receive.

I have been mining for last 10 hours (since 10:00 server time until 19:49 server time), with hash 800kh/S ... mining pool shows average hash 763,85 (ok they have already stole 8%)

my account balance - mined for last 10 hours is 0,62 Frk, this means 0.062Frk per 1 hour so 1.488 Frk per 24 hours ! ! !

As you can see www.coinwarz.com at current difficulty 1.7 and hasrate 800 shows I have to mine aprox 2.34 Frk per 24 hours

What is result ?

a, I am noob and missing something
b, www.miningpool.co is stealing more then 40 % of your mining power

is someone see I am noob and missing something please advice me what to do to get full 2.34 Frk per 24 hours ... until then www.miningpool.co are scammers and I am moving to another pool immediately.

hi i think the calculation is only the "theoretical what would you be mining solo if you d get the percentage from your hasingpower".
as you are in a pool, there are other factors like other miner hashing power, solved blocks, block-time, etc...

anyway, mininpool.co stopped paying out so i would link your power to another pool until they give us our coins!

I have been using miningpool.co for weeks without any major issues. There was a small prob with the payout script the other day but that got resolved. I have found it to be a great pool to use, by far my most preferred.

In regards to earthcoin, did you notice the message at the top of the EAC page? "Notice Submitted blocks are still receiving a 500 error. We are working to find a solution. Apologies for the delay. " I imagine that has something to do with your 0 balance.

In regards to estimates not being right, they are estimates.. With so many unknown variables its impossible to calculate with complete accuracy. Difficulty changes, Network hashrate changes, pool hashrate changes, rejections, communication delays between miner and pool and the real big one, luck. The pool has no idea of knowing when one of the workers is going to get a block, you can guess using poolhashrate vs networkhashrate, but its still just a guess.

Today we've added support to keep track of your MiningPool.co accounts to CryptFolio (https://cryptfolio.com) (thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=192423.msg5196242#msg5196242)).

CryptFolio helps you safely keep track of mining pool balances and worker hashrates over time, and generates reports (such as your overall USD net worth and historical hashrates).

During the first fork after TAG was released the pool lost all 'good' coins to miners being paid out for forked blocks. As the pool did not have any 'good' coins left after the fork a decision was made to close the pool. Most miners were informed about this when it happened.

I will be adding a News / Updates section so in future this sort of information will be more readily available.

Yes, the front end runs on a different server to the Stratum servers. So generally if the front end is temporarily down mining is not affected.

It appears several miners were exploiting a vulnerability in the version of the stratum mining software the pool was using.

Firstly, apologies to all the honest miners who have been earning less than they should have been during these issues.

The good news is the problem not appears to be fully resolved.

For a full statement please read this: https://www.miningpool.co/statement

All pool fees have been reduced to 0.01% until April 10th.

The front end seems to be okay...but some coin clients are down as well as some stratum servers. It's been this way for a few days. Don't know why it takes this long to fix it...especially if he is trying to get more miners and he won't fix what's wrong to keep the miners he already has.

MiningPool.co has been taken offline!

We have discovered a security breach. At first glance we believe the security issue to be related to the Openssl 'heartbleed' vulnerability disclosed today.

Luckily the issue was caught very quickly. The damage could have been ALOT worse.

An intruder was able to withdraw a relatively small amount of coins from the pool.

Please expect extended downtime as we investigate further and make sure the system is safe to go back online.

Sincere apologies for the delays.

Luckily the damage appears to be small in terms of coins lost, which is the most important thing.

I expect the system and website to be back online within a couple of hours.

A full update of what happened will be posted once everything is back online and secure.

Anyone who logged in to the website in the last 12 or so hours is very strongly advised to change their passwords on other websites if they use the same password as they used on the MiningPool.co website.

Well I've just started my miner on the MegaCoin pool, and it's received a connection and now it is mining at full throttle again.. I suspect you've fixed the issue with the pools? The site is still offline of course, I'm just presuming that all that I mine now, will still be taken into account when the site comes back online?

Yes, all stratum servers are back online and shares are now being processed and will be paid as usual.

It seems, at this stage, the coins lost were relatively small in number so the pool will be able to cover all losses. Payments are still on hold until I can re-credit accounts that were affected - writing a script to do that now. Once that is done website will go back on line.

Please note all password and payment addresses needed to be reset as the attacker was able to 'sniff' passwords and changed users payout addresses once he logged into their accounts. As we have no way of knowing what passwords and / or payout addresses have been compromised decided it would be safest to reset both so attacker cannot login to accounts that were compromised and threshold payments don't go to the attackers addresses. I know its a major pain in the ass but better than losing more coins.

Ahh! Fantastic news! It seems Miningpool.co is well on it's way to settling back to normal again.

I agree with changing passwords. A vulnerability like that could have cost users hundreds of coins, or even worse if the imaginable had happened and if you hadn't have caught it in time. Once the site goes live again, a change of password will be done, and likewise.. I hope.. A change of payout address.

I presume other users of the site who are unaware of the vulnerability will be notified on the main page that a change of password will be advisable?

It's a major pain in the arse that is worth it when it comes to currency.

Has anyone received a payout since the last outage?  I have been mining over a week and no payout.  I updated my payment address since the outage.  I tried contacting the site admin via BitMessage but so far no reply, just a message received ack.

Hi -

Payouts are working as expected.

We only pay out when a block is found as we pay on a proportional system not PPS. If the pool does not find a block then there are no payouts until one is found.

Because you have been mining Litecoin on the pool and there is only (approx.) 3000KH/s on the Litecoin pool a block has not been found since you started mining on the pool (infact a Litecoin block has not been found for weeks).

Sorry, but that is the way it is.

I think we will remove the Litecoin pool when / if the next block is found as the difficulty is just way to high for the small amount of hash powe the pool has.

What does this mean for my accumulated shares?  If I should stop mining LTC now would my shares eventually be paid?

Also, is it possible for you to support MazaCoin?  http://www.mazacoin.org/

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply.

Litecoin shares accumulate for 35 days. After this period the system basically turns in a PPLNT (Pay per last N time) of 35 days.

So as long as a block is found within 35 days of you mining Litecoin on the pool you will be paid out your proportion.

Will add Mazacoin later tonight.

Before proceeding I would like to take the time to thank eThought for his service, we have found it to be very fair and stable, the miners and I are very happy. If this were ebay I would write "a+++++++++ top service!".

eThought, I have been studying the hashrate graph over several days, and I feel it would be nice to tweak the network hashrate display.

When you call 'getnetworkhashps' on the daemon it can take two parameters which are 'blocks' and 'height'.

Whilst many may think hashrate is measured, it is actually just an estimate from the average times of the last [number] blocks, similar to how difficulty is calculated.

The default 'blocks' parameter is 120, in Bitmark's case that is a 2 hour sample. What I have found is that large changes in network hashrate take a very long time to filter through to getnetworkhashps, it can take an hour or more to reflect an addition of 30% to the network hashrate.

So, would it be possible for you to play with that number, to see how it reflects on the chart?

DGC payouts don't seem to be working correctly.  Payment Threshold is set to 100, Confirmed Earnings and Account Balance are both 317.34194946 DGC.  Please advise.

Quoting my own post because this has been resolved.  Not sure if there was some action taken or if I was doing something wrong, but the payout went through.  I just started using this pool so may have been something I was doing wrong.

In any case, I've been looking at different mining pools where I can mine DGC, and IMHO this is one of the top mining pools I've checked out.

TT

Sorry about that!  :-[

de1.miningpool.co started freaking out and throwing kernel errors at the console...

I took all clients and stratum servers down and manually re-backed up all wallets (just in case kernel errors were from hdd problems). That is why it took a little while to get back up.

Anyway, rebooted after backups and seems to be back to normal.

I should check this thread more often   :P - sorry for not seeing this message earlier.

Interesting idea, I did not know that it was possible to get a hashrate calculated on a different number of blocks.

Currently however I am using "networkhashps" from 'getmininginfo'. But will definitely think about changing this in the future if it gives more responsive hashrate measurements.

Thank you for the suggestion!

I'll just post again quickly then :)

Would you consider lowering your BTM fees? All the other pools are at 0.75-1%, you have a very good pool but people are leaving due to this, it would be great to see them come back, and also for the hashrate to be nicely distributed.

Thank you for any consideration.

There seems to be a problem with ASC payouts. I'm sitting on a hefty balance and no amount of auto withdrawal has worked.

Sorry about that. The Asiccoin client has recently started having issues with larger payments so I have restricted single outgoing payments for Asiccoin to 50000. Payments of 50000 will be made every 5 minutes until your balance has been withdrawn.

Let me know if you see any further issues. Thanks.

I love miningpool.co.  The chart and stats are the best I've seen for UNO mining.

I have the auto payout set at 0.5 UNOs.  Normally it pays out like clockwork at just a hair over that amount.

A few weeks ago, though, my account balance climbed up to something like 2.5 before it paid out.  And now my balance is over 1.11 and climbing.

What makes it get "stuck" where the auto-payout doesn't pay out at the set amount?

Post by: ethought on February 22, 2015, 04:47:34 PM
It is with much regret that I announce MiningPool.co will be closing down on the 15th of March 2015.

The pool has been running at a loss for many months now and it is just not feasible to continue running it like this.

I also do not have the time that MiningPool.co deserves due to new projects.

If in the future I can find a way to operate the pool profitably it may re-open / probably with a total overhaul.

Many thanks to all those who have mined in the pool since it began.

Please withdraw any outstanding balances before the closing date.

Thank you again.

Some stats on closing:

User Accounts: 37,065
Blocks Found: 1,754,868
Payments Out: 1,039,764

 :)

Sad to hear that, mate.
I have supported your pool since august.
Can you help me with CARB coins withdraw from my account?  It's just stuck since december.
My account's name is the same as here.
I wrote to your bitmessage address, but still didn't recieve a reply.

Best regards, Travis_nsk

Sorry about that, I do try and respond to all BitMessage messages.

I have looked into the situation and found that your balance was far too large for the Carboncoin client to be able to pay out at once. So I have set a limit of 4,000,000 CARBON per payment, so every 5 minutes you should received 4000000 until fully paid out.

Thanks
