I have seen that certain people said that market will never sleep. As I know, like usual market at NASDAQ or NYE Stock Market they usually open their market at 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. So why does it call market never sleep? I am curious. I am new to this kind of thing

people have computers or smart phones they can use all day, so you can buy and sell bitcoin or altcoin at any time of the day, just this ... I believe that with this facility that technology offers us has no reason to establish an opening time and a closing time for market. I may be wrong, but even countries like Japan that have regulated bitcoin have not imposed opening time and closing time for crypto market.

I think it's "money never sleeps", and that's because there's always a market open somewhere since we're not all in the same time zone.  Your local stock market might be closed, but people do trade globally.  Speaking of this particular phrase, if you haven't seen Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps,  check it out.  It's a pretty good picture.

Every Stock Market have their fixed operating hours.  But there are many stock markets around the world, not only in USA, but also in Europe or Asia - they are working in different time zones. For example, if stock market in USA are closed at the moment, stock markets in Europe or Asia are working.
And when we are talking about crypto markets that term represent it best, because as we know - crypto markets never sleeps and it's alive 24/7.

It's the first time i've heard it and I agree that the crypto market never sleep. Prices move every day, exchanges rarely stop operations just for maintenance. It's one of the best thing online there's nothing that can stop you. You can trade whenever you want between exchanges or people here in the forum. Also there are a lot of exchanges if one goes down people will move to the other so it's always never ending.

This is an older saying which I believe means you can make money around the clock. There's also a movie from 2010 with the Gordon Gekko character called "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps".

Markets or sessions do really close but the saying that market never sleeps is that each session do open on alternate timeframes since each market is on different places which means closing time isnt really possible and traders can really make trades on which market is open.When we do talk about stocks and forex then this is the situation but when we do talk about cryptocurrency market then 24/7 is really on here no sessions or whatsoever as long there is traders who do make trades it doesnt really stop.

Different time zones across the world make this market more attractive and people say that market never sleeps. Also Citi tagline refer the same which means somewhere in some part of the world their bank would be functioning and same goes with the crypto market as well.

Well you are right that stock markets only have limited time of sessions each day, but there are tons of different kind of markets around the world. There are those stocks, forex, and especially cryptocurrency market which are all operating 24/7 that is why there are saying that "market will never sleeps". People are now able to do trading or buy cryptocurrency whenever they want because of decentralized nature of cryptocurrencies through their own devices (smartphone or computer) and this is the advantage of cryptocurrency market to other types of market (you can get in and out whenever you want).

Actually, the other term says BLOCKCHAIN NEVER SLEEPS, this simply means that unlike the stock market which have fixed hours of operation, such doesn't exist on the blockchain. Since Cryptocurrencies are blockchain based and run on the internet, every minute of the day, trading is going on in so many places.

Everytime blockchain started accepting the new project to this market. I found many people will takes investing on the new projects with these start ups. Reason for saying that until the Internet medium works anywhere in the world.
So they will accept the blockchain share when the mining is process.

Because bitcoin is a dynamic market. Work on numbers but these numbers never stand still, they change quickly. Whether up or down also makes investors "not sleep", can be happy or sad. This is a dynamic digital money market.

if you mean the notion "money never sleep" it is because of the movie and in world one market closes the other opens by giving the opportunity of arbitrage as well for investors but for crypto the market is open 24/7 as the crypto world is open and global where everybody can join.

I love and hate this so much.. I love that all shifts of the day move and are exciting and filled  with oppurtunity.. but I've started to form sleep deprivation due to checking my phone, or dreaming about trading and wake up in a panic.. I don't know if anyone else experiences this but atleast sometimes.. I wish it would just close after 12am easterrn atleast on the weekends.. its really starting to take its toll after a year and a half.

But that is correct many people are now getting addicted to crypto currency like a gambling addiction which includes myself too.Now I am started to check the prices of cryotocurrency too often maybe because of its my greed,I always expect the price to bump and bump.But the price of crypto currency is too volatile so people are making money with it as long as they can that's why it is never sleeping.

     Everyone can buy online market 24/7 even in cryppto you can transact anytime you want that's why market never sleep. But it is still depend on a kind of market. Online market are always open anytime as long as you have cellphone or computer and internet. Other stock market has a time limit but mostly operating 24/7 daily. Market never sleep because there is a costumer,buyer,seller,investors,businessman that do transaction whole day and overnight.

The different time zones are one factor responsible for the phrase. Some continent could be having daylight while another have nighttime. So as we are sleeping or meant to sleep, others observe morning time and being a global village plus achievement from technology, the internet is always available to be explored. Money will always exchange for something.

Hes actually referring to stock market which is normally having an opening and closing such market and do have different sessions depending which country they do belong but yet since we are talking crypto market then it is indeed open 24/7 which you can able to trade off anytime you do like and this is the thing I do really need to make money without depending on what time should I set in.

Yes, he's referring to stock market as he said because there's an operating hours for it. This is why most of the crypto traders aren't getting enough sleep. When I'm starting to focus with my trades, I'm not letting every single seconds even I'm in my job to check out on what's happening with my coins. But I figured it out that being a day trader is stressful that's why even the market of crypto is open 24/7 I'm just letting all the hopes to the coins that I'm holding and praying that it will be up someday again.

P.S I doubt that market will never sleep, there's a time that certain exchange have a maintenance thus market sleep especially if it is under ddos.

Yes that’s true. Market for sure does not sleep. Cryptocurrency market does not sleep, it is always open and you can buy and sell at anytime wish, no matter what. Though I don’t really know how forex trading sites works. I once heard that forex trading sites has a closing time and an opening time, depending on the company’s location, but I don’t know. For Bitcoin, the market is always open and you have total freedom to trade whenever you want.

Sure, it can be crazy sleeping and waking up the next morning to see the market you are holding is down and you could have gotten out in the best time, but all the same, there is always a good side and bad side to everything.

The good side is that you cannot stop making money and you can make for as long as you want, the bad side is you are the only one who can make it a bad side and that is left to you just as you are depriving yourself of sleep and panicking unnecessarily.

Yes, the crypto business will never sleeps as we had increasing numbers of crypto enthusiast and investors around the globe. I could not imagine how many transactions happens in every minute considering that coinmarketcap has a significant volume. Adding also, the entry of new coins or token at there individual ICO's. Exchanges are now increasing in numbers and operates at round the clock.

I think it means that on each important market there will be participants at all times. In the end, non-action still has an affect on the market.

In stock market there are participants/traders all the time but the market needs to be close and there's only a certain amount of time for its operation.

Yes, there's a fixed time for stocks market and for crypto its a market that never sleeps and stops.

If you do tend to have both things which your job and trade then it would really be a tough job since you would really need good time management before you would able to handle 2 things which I can say wont really easy. I have experienced this scenario on where I do make trades while I'm still on my work which I do decide from short/active trading to go for long term because time isn't really sufficient at all.

Do not have a nap as a trader and keep working yourself too hard all in the name of a 24 hours, 7 days market and you want to make all the profit to yourself, and let's see how that is going to turn out for you.

It is a good thing though, because knowing that there is no time frame, you can always make market decisions at any point in time. However, based on what you have said, even if you take a nap, you can always have tomorrow to make a decision, so you do not have to kill yourself staying on the chart for the rest of your life.

Chances for him to be left behind if theirs new upcoming pump ATH coming since he have a job that needed to be taken with, and mostly traders who have daily jobs doing only an short trades that's why we can see them up ended with massive lose in the end of the day setting their buy/sell orders. But if he can able to stake with good potential coins then he will not be sorry for that since mostly the potential coin will pump up harder for long staking but we should select those coin who's top in the cap as assurance for ourselves.

Yes I think the business in the market should be 24/7 they never sleep because of the profit they want to earn.To be able to care for the coins they invest and study more knowledge about their investment so thats why market never sleep  they keep on searching and never stop to search for more.

I think the op may be referring to the market value of bitcoin, which has a high volatility that never stop of pump and dump of its price time to time, that's why they call it "market will never sleeps". And maybe also the exchange services that will serves to all traders 24/7.

I think because the market dump and pump everyday, price of all crypto on the market don't stable anytime or maybe because there are always a lot of trader available all the time on the market. LOL. This is actually very much true that the market never sleep especially when you talk about the market of the crypto currencies which are there in this world. The thing is most of the people are there in this market and that the number of investors investing in this market will always keep on increasing no matter what the conditions will be. If my memory does not fail me the British Empire was called the Empire in which the sun never sets a reference meaning that the empire was so big and extensive that some part of its territory was always illuminated by sunlight, the markets are the same, an investor in the US is not limited to only invest in the US markets he can invest in different markets across the globe so there are always opportunities to make money no matter what time it is.

The thing about the market is that the time zones are different, it is a global market and someone somewhere will definitely be trading while some are sleeping. If you then want to turn yourself to a robot, I guess we will just have to see how that turns out.

I believe cryptomarket will never sleeps to improved the quality of life of one person around the world. But always think about the risk cause its very high compare to ordinary market and you might loss the money for just a minute.

Follow the Sun rule. When people are about to sleep in the other side of the planet (US), people in Asia just started to woke up and resume the trading activity. So it like 24/7/365, it never sleeps and it never rest. I worked in a 24/7 operating support so I'm much that familiar with the setup. As opposed to let say NASDAQ and NYSE where there's a operating time.

Because trading is 24/7 and 7 days a week. We are in different time zones and people are awake in the other side and people are sleeping in other side. Also with the technology are rapidly becoming more advanced. People have smartphones can trade their coins even if they are sleeping.

Market never sleeps because every region have different timezone, when the market in a certain region close, the market in the different region have its opening.  So that is why , in my opinion, the reason why market never sleeps.  Aside from that due to the modern technology, everyone have access to different timezone and different markets.  Trading and transactions are active 24/7.  And that makes the market never sleeps.

That is precisely the good thing about having some markets open no matter where you are, that means you do not have to stay awake all the time, go and do your everyday life and trade when you are ready, trading when you are tired is a terrible idea since you depend almost entirely on your capacity to read the markets accurately and for that you need a rested mind.

That is advantage that we have over stock or any other market. Different times zones allow people to be connected all the time, if you don't sleep this night you are connected with people on other side of the planet where is clear day. Before 100 years majority of people slept at night, now it almost reversed, majority doesn't go to bed before 1 or 2 am, and sometimes more, I'm one of those people. Now its fun to be awake at night, we have internet and tv and cause of that its hard to stand up and go to sleep, I always say just 5 more minutes, just to finish this and that last. Soon there will be no difference is it a day or night, this market will open new markets and everyone will be able to shop at night or do what ever.

This statement is very much true when we talk about any of the crypto currency or we talk about the crypto market. The thing is every second, number of transactions are being carried out and many of the people keep on buying or selling their coins. Crypto market is not the same as Nasdaq and things. Crypto market is open for everybody, but not only for professional traders, so all those people who sell/buy coins are actually setting it's prices 24/7, so there is no limit for such place as crypto market.

I know you have that kind of urge feeling about bitcoin becoming a dominant currency but it would tell you this that this thing is really an impossible scenario to happen.Even though bitcoin or crypto market is having some advantages towards local currency fiats but it cant really replace the reality that fiat currency/ market would still be considered by most people in the end of the story.

it is now already very famous and  very popular in this world no currency is at the place where bitcoin now, all kind of the time use to come and go but the only currency and the only people how will stay with you are the really your own so if you are using any job  but one day you will see to red day for that and your income will be zero but the bitcoin will never get zero because it has a lot of people to invest and to pray for it to increase bad keep moving towards high price again and again.

We cant still assure that bitcoin wont really become zero in value.We do know and observe on how these cryptocurrency price do moves in a short period of time. We do see huge percentage dips which means anytime we can go zero in value.Even how high we do have hopes in bitcoin but still possibilities on going to the bottom is there.You are right as long there are people who do believe and invest to bitcoin then it wont easily die but it isn't an assurance that it would go for forever.

Yes we can get to the bitcoin at any part of the day as it use to remain working all the time, as in this forum people joined form all over the world and it represents the high value of bitcoin in the whole worlds, bitcoin is the currency being use worldwide, but mate it is better to choose bitcoin investment instead of trading because in investment you will not have to suffer any risk and it will give you high profit with only patience but trading is the risky way of earning, your investment will all the time reaming in risk, so investment is better accordion to me as bitcoin is the whole day active currency it use to grow all the day long.

Well, I saw that title in a book written by Busby and Dow. It was an insight for traders and investors. I guess they are pertaining to the market literally and personification "never sleeps" meaning it doesn't stop moving or fluctuating night or day.
I think it's actually saying that the market will not wait anyone before it rise or fall and the users themselves are liable for their actions. The market will move depending on the support it gets and will not be constant.

i didnt know that this phrase is already been a title of a book. i guess many people especially traders and investors are getting inspired to it, that is why they've made a book related to it. for sure that book is good and full of meaningfull advices from the pro business men.

anyways in my own views i think it is also dependable because there were  some markets that actually sleeps. Like for example the market in a real world (e.g supermarkets ) they need rest also , that is why they are indeed sleeping but in the case of crypto , i guess it isnt sleeping because it is online and anything is in automated process.

This is also related to the fact that this market has no holiday of finish time, so all the traders have to make the plan globally because there will be a time when some other part of the world will be effecting on the price of the bitcoin. Just try your best to foresee every possible situation of the market in the upcoming days and be very much available to the market when it needs you to exploit the situation in a best possible way for your profit.

you should know this, crypto market is very different from the stock market, if the stock market has a certain time to start trading ,. while crypto market can move at any time ,, can be morning afternoon afternoon or early morning ,. you should know the crypto market movement ,, if you already understand this ,, i am sure you can succeed in trading

Traditional exchanges have an opening and a closing time; but cryptocurrency exchanges does not have this comfort and does not have to. So this market never sleeps.

It call "market will never sleeps" because the operations are globally. There are many countries involve in this kind of market and those countries have different time zone.

Oh. That is a normal phrase used by many people. It basically means that there is always something going on in the market. It never status steady. In other words it is volatile. Another connotation is that the holdup market never sleeps. Like you said your local market will close, but in other parts of the world another market would just be opening and the activities of this market may have an affect on your local market when it opens the next day. Right is basically it.

For me, it means time is gold.. Every second is very important in all investor and traders. Or maybe, they say this because, we have different Time in the whole world, if the other not trade (because they sleep), then the other part are on trading, and vice versa..

For businessmen, traders and people who have jobs time is literally gold for us. But to be specific with day traders the never sleeps. This is what I like in crypto market especially with bitcoin, it's not the same with the usual markets that we grew up. That's the normal thing to do of being a businessman because they are giving importance to their time. The market will never sleeps because the crypto market scopes the whole world of traders so timezone's are different so it's 24/7 running.

Because they speak about all markets around the world. And with internet connection you can trade 24 hours per day. If you take a look at the crypto currency market trading, then you can see it runs the whole day. Some fiat money markets like NASDAQ are still limited, but they are also not up to date, because newer methods run 24 hours per day.  

Because there all the time there are some changes, it does not have time to work, trading sessions are constantly changing thus the market is constantly in motion

I totally agree with this term "Crypto market will never sleep". According to my opinion all over the world many countries make transactions in the crypto market. Those countries have different time zones, so that 24 hours there are many transactions in the market. Then we can cold it as market never sleep. 

I think what that means is that market never stops, no matter the time in a day, buying and selling continues. But I’m not so sure of that. Physically, once it’s 6pm you see people closing their stores and going home LOL. Even online, when I was into forex trading, they do have a market closing time, if I do remember.

The market that never sleep.i don't know if they are never sleep. but in my countries they are close at exactly 5pm. The market currency the foreign exchange market currency, forex, fx is the largest, most liquid and active financial market in the world. if they are never sleep it's nice and good. we can exchange buy and selling even 24 hoursi think this is good for me.

I am sure it does not depend on physical opening and closing of a market company every day.  It's the market being operative 24/7 regardless of any kind of market. It's business terminology used to say market never sleeps. It's like saying day and night do not sleep. It routine it moves around.

Yes a lot of currencies are creating and selling or exchanging or buying by a lot of people now a days and a lot famous currencies has circulated a lot to people that’s why people and investor are saying markets will never sleeps .

Then for a while I it struck to my mind a scenario like this...
An investor bought a share at company A during those trading hours, after the bell rings and closes the market company A announce a new product and most of the investor got happy which lead to additional buying emotion that push the price up. without even doing nothing the investor could gain profit or revenue out of the blue. Money grows, even when he sleeps.

For an example; when I say, 'trading will never sleep', this means that trading will never get closed, even though traders may close their respective shops and open again on the next day. "market will never sleeps" my understanding in this word is simple...whether you participate or not ,the movement of the operation continued..no time limet..even some investor withdraw or the trader stops their business, they are not the hindrance for the market to keep on moving..it is not the "open and close" of the establishment, it is the operation tjat keeps on moving.

This is the first time that i have heard "the market that never sleeps" kinda interesting to talk a bit about it. Maybe I can even agree that the bitcoin market keeps going up and down every single hour of a day. It also falls the same for other stock markets to maybe because if a stock market at the US is closed there might be another stock market that's currently working at a different time zone. I would say that not only regarding crypto market but every type of market can be said that it never sleeps.

Right. However, I do not see how a single person can be trading 24 hours in a whole day except they just want to get themselves screwed over times without number. For this reason most times, traders are opting for trading bots. But its performances are not consistent hence we do not need to take them for considerations.

Nice thinking  you are right bitcoin keep on moving and it never stop at the single place it is because people from all over the world are really interested to get bitcoin today, price if very good so more and more investors are taking part in bitcoin, people use to buy when the price is low and then high speculation makes price high once again and people sell to buy again with high profit at low so this process never end, as bitcoin has volatile nature and it never stop at specific price, it keeps on moving.

I think the key is in marketcap, although we know that the world has a difference time zone but if a coin has only a small marketcap or a few users of course market activity will be very quiet and certainly the market will sleep. if one coin have many users of course marketcap will be very big, such as bitcoin, the market will never sleep..

They do have fixed time and weekends for their time of operation. Those markets are different from the crypto markets. Crypto markets are fully decentralised which does not make them go offline anytime due to the global markets. Peoples globally trade on the markets to buy or sell their cryptos which keeps the markets alive for 24/7 and on any day.

These are two different markets and i would suggest you to first go the the defination of crypto markets to get what it actually is. Stock markets are completely different from the markets here. You can check various exchanges for cryptos working always without any such gap.
