Title: What do you do with your crypto?
Post by: cosgui on February 13, 2018, 01:44:07 PM
I mostly mine and hodl, but my friend day trades and says I should start getting into it. What do you prefer to do and do you think there is a better route to take? I personally think it's all up to personal preference, I'm new though.

Preference on how will you make profit out of crypto depends on the user itself. Trading in my opinion is a bit risky unlike investing especially with bitcoin where profit has a more chance to be earned due to the high demand on the market. But the best thing to do is to try all of it and see it for yourself.

Depending on the type of altcoin I would decide to hold or sell them. I will analyze that altcoin, if in the future, I anticipate they will rise, I will hold and wait for higher prices in the future. And if altcoin prices go down, I'll sell them. So I have not answered your question. There are a lot of factors for you to grasp between or sell crypto.

What do I do? I hold, trade occasionally when I have an idea on what's going to happen next in the markets.  And of course, I spend my bitcoin as much as possible if I can. Forget global adoption if everyone simply just holds; we need to actually spend them for better publicity.

What's the better route? Yep. You pretty much answered your question. Try em all out, then continue doing what you do best and or what you enjoy more doing; whether it'd be daytrading, longterm trading, gambling(which I don't recommend ofcourse), etc.

of course you just have to do with your altcoins or cryptos just hold the wait until the price encrease and earn some money.
but most of them use their altcoin in trade to earn money too quickly

I only do 1 thing buy Everytime the coin falls and keep hodling long term and only spend when i have to buy something. Basically i treat bitcoin like fiat and use it as a real money. :)

I only trade with coins and tokens that I hold. Most of the time I just try to increase my current holdings with trading. It is less risky this way, because you will either end up with a coin/token you are already comfortable with holding or you end up with Bitcoin.

In my first earning of crypto, I sell it though the price is low because I need money that time. Next time, I will hold it and wait for the price is to rise.

As a beginner you can trade with a small amount of money!

It makes no sense to keep COINS in large Numbers at the beginning!

If you get a profit in a deal, you'll get an interest in the deal, and you'll be better at studying digital money!

you can be all around on Cryptocurrency but stick to the things that you think you are mostly familiar with for the time being, If you are familiar with mining then do so and if you are hodling do it for long term on bitcoin and Ethereum only, Because that is the two main Crypto that I am sure that can make you tons of profit when you invest with it, But needs to read and research for other Cryptocurrency.

Right now i hold my bitcoin and wait till its value regain its strength. If you have an extra you can buy some more coins and hold it until its price will soar again to its peak for your own benefit and advantage.

Hold is not better then trade, you can trade via your holding money for gaining more profit. yes it's also your personal preference, how can you use your wealth. I also can suggest you you can some hold and other some invest for build a better future.

I have bought very less crypto with money. Most of the crypto I have got is for a service I used to provide online in 2014. I was lucky that the client was paying in BTC and I took the offer as I thought that this will be additional cash lying as investment. I think I made the right decision.

Right now I just hold my crypto because now you can see for yourself that the price of coins is now down and it's not very good if we trade now.
besides that I am also working to add my coins to multiply because if I just wait for the price of coins to rise I think we are wasting precious time.
while swimming drinking water is more suitable than you just swim waiting for a big ship, than you wait for bitcoin prices go up then work to increase the number of coins in your wallet.

yeah, I guess you have to do it all because I feel it too. trading, hold, and investing in a project so you really feel what's going on. indeed all of it has a risk that is not small. but with that, you will gain experience and you will know what you have to do with the crypto you have.

and if I have a crypto then I will look for news whether the coin is potentially for the future. and I will take a decision that I will do with the crypto.

It's largely depends on the individual and the kind of crypto he/she holds. If the he aims at holding it for a considerable longer period of time for higher returns, then he/she wouldn't sell even though price might be rising. Again, if an investor speculates future price increase of a particular coin, he would want to wait for sometime before to generate more returns on such coins instead of selling it now

Maybe you can hold the coin in a few months first Because in every trade there are two possibilities including loss and profit So if the exchange rate is in decline automatically traders are encouraged to always be patient and do not need to panic about the problem That is excessive.

Mining for only those who have really huge budget to get most of the coin but to think that mining bitcoin is not really worth again since the payout and your electricity cost is really having huge gap. But if you are mining other coin which is like new altcoin then may be it still worth, like gambling as well, mine it and be pumped or mine it then be dumped

The best way is still do the trading as well to increase your capital, other than that is just some addition. So if you can earn it everyday then you must be getting good profit now

I hold and trade. Don't day trade just because your friend told you so but you can also try it out but if you don't have enough time to day trade, you can buy and hold then sell just like what you do with bitcoin.

I'm new though.
If you're new how come you did ending up you mine bitcoin? Newbies that entered to mining without proper knowledge and isn't aware of the risk they are taking will end up selling their rigs.

Obviously invested it and what do the community do in the cryptocurrency is hold because this is the best way to get a big profit in this platform so i guess it is jist a normal thing to do but i guess if you are not a long term holder of any cryptocurrency dont try to hold your token because the price will surely go down and if you are not pacient you might panic sell.

Ya. You already answered your question  :D. Its all up to you. But mining is costly no? Electricity sucks so i wont prefer mining if i were you. Trading also is good but you have to be experienced in trading. If you dont know the behavior of the market then i dont think trading will be profitable. I participate in bounty campaigns and i am also paid in crypto. Sometimes bitcoin, sometimes altcoins and i need to play  them in my hands, wait for the better days (better prices). :)

Yes, we used our cryptocurrency in trading because day by day their value also change like bitcoin. They also doesnt have fixed value depends on the demand of it. By trading you will earn depend also tobthe altcoins that has a high value, but it was risky as well because you are not sure about it. You need to be careful everytime you do trading.

I exchange it into cash and buy everything I want with them because this is better for me than keeping it in the wallet for a long time. Also there aren't almost any shops online( oflline there is none of them) where I can spend my bitcoin to buy things that i want and even if there would exist shops to accept bitcoin the fees would be very high so still, it is better to exchange it in fiat and buy what you need and want

I just hold bitcoin for a long term because i believe it has a good future. Then i do trading for some of my altcoins, buy low ,sell high. But i still need to learn more while doing trading because if you don't know and you have no knowledge about trading there is a possibility to lose your coins.

I do hold too my Cryptocurrency  earedn from campaigns. I just let it sit in my wallet hoping it will accumulate values in time.Indeed, holding valuable coins is very rewarding. Also, if I need  fiat, I just convert a portion of it. I am less active in trading for a few weeks now  since it seems its not favorable and bitcoin is in its low  now.

When crypto-currency prices are low, I start to buy, I don't pay attention to its price every day, I will hold it for a long time, and I won't sell it for short price fluctuations. Only when I need money badly do I consider selling it for cash.

I think that the trading is better than the holding. Yes, you need to learn and to know about the current situation on the crypto exchange markets to decide when the best time to buy or sell the crypto currency which you have. Such a way you can get much more profits or decrease a losses.

When we started it was just holding on to btc. Then we learned trading so we made a living out of it. When we need money for everyday living then we cash out what we need and not take all of our money. So that is what we do. Trading and slowly growing our crypto currency.

Many different kinds of business transactions in bitcoin, but as long as we are in the bottom rank, investing is the best for us, but as a begginers, we must produce first our own capital that comes from our own pocket, and technically we must ask  people suround us that more knowledgeable in crypto business, because that people can teach us personally or even our very closes friends that accessed in crypto for how many years, they are people master in different transactions, and they are the good teachers in crypto.

Yes. It comes down to your personal preference. Whether you think that a method will be the most profitable over the other. For me, I will convert my first earned bitcoins to fiat to have extra money because I'm still a student and that means no other source of money beside from my parents. After a few years, I would hold my bitcoins and claim the profitm

I have never done trading, not because I cannot do it, but it needs lots of time reading charts and other relevant news, so I always felt its better just hodl and see how they will be after 6~12 months (I entered around 3 months back so still hodling), and then decide what to do. But having said that, I always felt trading would be the safest option as you take profits when price goes up, so probably with all trades you can take some profits, and quite quickly you can take back your original investment, but if you are someone with a full-time professional job, I think it would be too hard to do tradings without loosing in some cases. The best methodology would be to understand good cryptos first, and then start trading with them. The point is, even if you cannot sell with a profit, you can hold them for 3~6 months and probably have a profit. When I find 20~30 good projects, I may consider that route.

Same with mine too.I am converting a fraction of my bitcoin into fiat money so i can sustain all my basic needs especially that i am the breadwinner in my family. The remains of it will be keep and hold  for my future investments and maybe by that time,it will be ×5 from its original amount.

I was just holding and selling if ever i see that i can get a profit on it and when i feel like its going down again. But since i used some of my crypto to convert into fiat for daily expenses, i cannot really save up and hold much longer. Well in my opinion, if you have a good knowledge in predicting then you can day trade but you should know the risk that you can also lost some profit because of it.

Yuph, that's right. It really depends on the user itself. Like me, I used to earn profit form bitcoin by joining campaigns and holding the bitcoins I eaned until a good time to sell bitcoins comes. By doing this hold and sell strategy. I can earn  money without doing too much work. I think this strategy is the easiest way to earn money from bitcoin.

everything. using, buying, selling, trading etc. Main point is not to speculate too much and not to hesitate use your coins when you get a chance. If you want to keep some for investment, just buy some more.

It will still depends on which type of earning crypto you want. If you want to do nothing, Mining is the best for you. You just watch your miner to mine crypto. But if you want to earn faster, you can trade, all you need to do is monitor the price of cryptos then if you can earn from it sell. Then buy again at low price. There are also called. Bounties. You can earn crypto thru bounties.

Buy and hold of course for the good and promising coin/token and sometimes I'm doing trade with coins and tokens that I hold. Most of the time,I just try to increase my current holdings with trading. It is less risky this way, because you will either end up with a coin/token you are already conportable

Yes that's true if you have extra money you can buy more bitcoins. Invest and trading bitcoin you can earn more profit. You can hold your bitcoin and wait unti the price is going up.

Yes you are correct, we all have our preferences and where we are comfortable with. I tried doing day trading before and yes the profits are good but I feel like my time is precious and I also need to get a life out of the digital world and disconnect sometimes to spend time with my family. It was taking too much of my time because I was aiming for something and it takes hours in a day for me to get me to that target amount and so I switched to long term trading instead and I'm still happy with the results.

I have a strong belief that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be the major platform for monetary system so that I want to store my potential crypto for the future purpose. So I always suggest my surrounding people to invest in this platform if they will do a better something in the future.

Today's investment will bring a lot of financial benefit for the time being, that's why I don't want to miss any opportunity to make a good reserve for the future purpose. But your friend also has given good suggestion regarding starting trading for the sake of profit.

I also used my earned cryptos from joining different campaigns and airdrops in trading. I believe that signature campaigns and trading makes a good team for earning bitcoin and other cryptos. I started here by earning bitcoin first but upon hearing altcoins and tried it, I found out that earnings in altcoins can be bigger than what I can earn in the bitcoin campaigns especially if the altcoin became valuable. Trading is very exciting and very profitable especially if you know how to handle it as well as the emotion. All of us wants to earn profit and earn big but of course there are people who can't deal with their patience which is very important when trading.

Is this a question to be asked to the community? I personally think you just created a low topic and most probably it will end up spamming.
And I also don't think you are newbie in cryptospace, because a newbie simply can't be a miner at the beginning.
Whatever, just do what you are best at, try something new with the amount you can afford to lose.

same wih me here I hodl my crypto for long term not unless I need cash urgently maybe I will sell some. for the moment I would suggest to Hodl your crypto or bitcoin as the price is cheap now . wait for the right time to sell or if you want long term investment it would be a wise decision.

Personally, I prefer trading. This is I think is most profitable in a short time.

To get the whole experience I suggest to do all possible reasons to fully facilitate your crypto like trading, investing in mining, either hardware mining or cloud mining. But if you are into cloud mining, I suggest to go with  the trusted and environmental friendly miner which offered by Moonlite. There is no wrong in hoarding but some says that if you don't want to risk your revenue will no go up high as you wanted.

I hold all of it in my wallet and keep collecting more to save it for the future. If you continuously work hard and get bitcoin every month in a few years you can get enough money to get something very nice like a new car, house, expensive clothes or any other things that you cant buy now. Also the price of bitcoin is going up every year, if you have 100$ worth of bitcoin this year and the price of bitcoin doubles after 1-2 year than your 100$ also doubles so you have 200$ now.

I do mostly bounty campaigns, mostly because they are less risky than other ways. Mining is expensive to begin and the electricity costs can make you take ages to break even. Trading, while it can be profitable, it is very risky and it's best left for professionals. I also write content on Steemit and earn it that way

HODL is a good Thing that everyone can do it. But Live or day trading is like tough for the new inexperienced user. If you have enough knowledge about the crypto market ratio, If you know which coins are good then you may try Live trading with mining. Because mining is the easiest way to earn money. So, don't leave that, You may try live trade also if you have those elements. Good Luck

The cycle continues, You should choose what you want to do with your cryptocurrency investments as well as only waiting for an increase won't get you anywhere. bitcoin is a currency that is meant to be in circulation

You wan to get install big profit or lost everything instantly, go to trading. Trading at your own risk, however many are successful with trading. In short period of time, they get huge profit, and some are not too lucky, they end up to bankruptcy.

Best thing to do is follow your mate and day trade as well. I'm assuming you're not gonna mine your own bitcoins or any crypto for that matter so I guess your best route here is trade bitcoins outright. Hodl and wait for the value to pump, harvest the profits and turn them to alt coins.

I think that this is not the best way to get money, that do your friend. He sit in front of the PC all day to do trades, by this he spent a lot of time and have very high chance to get fail. You must do that you think will be profitably to you. Do it!

I just hold my bitcoin and trade if there's a need with USD -> fiat. The better route to take is when you got enough profit and you are ready cash out.

High chance of failure? You are thinking on the negative side, have you ever tried to trade? In every way of earning bitcoin there's a risk so its up to you if you'll take risk or not.

I think you should give it a try. In trading, experience is the best teacher and I believe that you are lucky since you have a friend that you could as for help or get information from him unlike other traders that start from the very beginning.

For me, Crypto is not only the investment but I look at it as a payment system that is having potential to transform our financial lifestyle. However, since there is no market environment as of now that supports the dream of using Crypto for the goods and services. I am expecting the period of at least couple of years from now for this transformation process and we will be able to use Bitcoin as well as altcoins to make the purchase in the offline market in major cities of the major countries. As of now, I am using crypto/Bitcoin for the online transactions.

It depends on the market conditions, right now im buying and holding , the prices are trending upwards so im buying and holding because i expect it to surpass the 20k region soon. I also do some daily trading depending on what my particular goal is and what the market looks like , i don't know about anyone else but im intrigued by the volatility of this particular crypto, it makes it possible to make significant earnings over a short period on your purchase price .

Currently my suggestion for you is to go for hodl trading and free collection of the coins ( usually we got from free faucet and from airdrops also ) .
Here I am saying for you to start to go with hold and trading Because I know very well that we can't make day trade in the starting newbie level directly by the small amount . Because I already faced the loss in day trade , so first of all it is much better to understand well and at every way about the altcoins and make yourself easily to make idea that which coin can go at which level of increase and decrease price and after that you will be able to make start day trading also .

What I do with my cryptos is to continue holding it and earn some more especially if the price of the token is still small or still if I am not satisfied with the price. Just work hard for it more and soon apply Set Sell whenever time comes that token's price is already good. A matter of holding it and soon sell it either Direct Sell or Set Sell in a certain legit trading sites.

but most of them use their altcoin in trade to earn money too quickly

Same here I hold my crypto or alcoins and wait until such time price will high. I trust bitcoin and for sure it will increase for good. It is possible that you can save once you are bitcoiner beause you joined bounty campaigns and trading system. Holding is a better way to earn a good profit because most of the day traders missed a big opportunity to earn a big income because they sell their coin earlier on which is the coin become continuously pump and reaches new all time high, but if you want to trade it daily you should have an strategy so that you can minimize the risk of losing a money.

Preference on how will you make profit out of crypto depends on the user itself. Trading in my opinion is a bit risky unlike investing especially with bitcoin where profit has a more chance to be earned due to the high demand on the market. But the best thing to do is to try all of it and see it for yourself.

Nothing with zero risk in the world. If we put our fund in risky to get more chance to gain unlimited profit, why not?
I will be happy to do that. Only thing i have to do is trading with afford money no more.

It depends on every individual's preference. You should assess how much risk you can take and be self-aware of your strategy on how to manage your investments. I suggest you should try both and see for yourself which of the two is more profitable. Although, hodling has a higher probability that your investment will grow and be profitable in the long run, when it comes to trading, it has thrill and excitement.

I only trade with coins and tokens that I hold. Most of the time I just try to increase my current holdings with trading. It is less risky this way, because you will either end up with a coin/token you are already comfortable with holding or you end up with Bitcoin.
A good opinion and I like your opinion. I feel interested in following your senior step because what I think a senior is bound to lead to true and profitable lessons for a junior. So to trade the coins and tokens is very good in trading because that's where we can find the income and even the failure we will find because seeing a trade must have a risk but if it is comfortable in trading, especially with bitcoin then I'm sure difficult to remove it.

However, after a few bad experiences I just hold my coins. I also earn a little bit from investments on a few websites, certainly nothing worth bragging about.

I personally invest in really low risk projects and hold. I believe that Bitcoin will constantly rise in price every year and i will continue acting by this feeling. When investors get scared i will buy and hold.

I saw a post about someone buying Bitcoins and using a paper wallet to leave it to their children, that is an amazing idea and they will definitely enjoy the results of having such amazing parents in the future.

This technology will change the world.

I mostly mine and hodl, but my friend day trades and says I should start getting into it. What do you prefer to do and do you think there is a better route to take? I personally think it's all up to personal preference, I'm new though.
Nothing will happen to you not it give you more profit if you just keep on holding. Trading is a good thing to do since you don't need to buy other coins to start with cause you have already it.  But still you need to have good watch on them to avoid from losing instead of profit. By the way,  this is commonly practised by some members and you've gonna learn these eventually.

If you don't want to cut your losses, then sell it immediately because if you hold, you are ready to take those risk. Like me, I invested in an ICO worth 780$ and I already got my tokens. As of now, the price of the token in market is 400$ so it's a difference of 380$. I don't want to lose. As long as it reach 850$, I will sell it.

As an individual, I would just join the bounty to get tokens and then sell the Token at high rates to make a profit. Purely just hodl, not trade :))) Because I find myself not enough experience and knowledge to be able to trade successfully. My friends also trade and almost lost money. So I only breed and sell when cryptos get high profits only.

Preference on how will you make profit out of crypto depends on the user itself. Trading in my opinion is a bit risky unlike investing especially with bitcoin where profit has a more chance to be earned due to the high demand on the market. But the best thing to do is to try all of it and see it for yourself.

I really agree with you mate as a newbie is risky to invest in trading need to learn a lot how to become trader before intering the difficult way of job as trader's, investing in ico are nice way to start crypto but take note before you can invest in ico read learn how its work. try to read and learn I am hero.

Most people are good at holding and trading long term.

True, it depends from person to person whether he wants to do day trading and earn small percentage of earnings each day of whether he wants to buy and hold crypto or whether he wants to mine crypto. The decision varies from person to person. Although you can also do all of the three above or atleast two of them if you are crypto enthusiasts.

I sometimes do day trades and sometimes I just buy and hold cryptos for long term. I have divided my investment as 30% for day trading and 70% for long term holdings.

I guess people mainly use crypto as a store of value / speculation and trading. I use crypto mainly for trading, and try not to cash out unless i REALLY need fiat.

P.S: Anyone who wants to get into trading, don't be stupid like i was first time i did it and trade with like more than 5 % of your portfolio , or you're going to lose everything.

P.S2: If you want to get into leverage trading , don't. You're better off donating your money.

I only trade with coins and tokens that I hold. Most of the time I just try to increase my current holdings with trading. It is less risky this way, because you will either end up with a coin/token you are already comfortable with holding or you end up with Bitcoin.

I must prepared to hold the coins and token from trading. I will be able to wait the increasing of their price and I never felt panic no matter what the next. It is my second supplement of my income. I see some changes of the price everyday. The thread is not permanent but it is continue goes up.

You should be the one to decide on how to deal with your assets, in this case, crypto.
If you ask me, I'll just let it stand, wait for prices to come up. Given that this is a good coin - ok?
Trading is just to risky for me in my opinion. Cause a know a little, next to nothing about it.

Your preference perfectly suits your circumstances right now. It is actually difficult to day trade if you are still a newbie. Hodling is the much better option for you. But of course you should not just be contented with pure holding if you are really interested to learn day trading. You have to study it and try it. Sooner, when you already acquired the necessary skills, you will be earning more through active trading.

In my opinion, we never learn until we lose some of the amount while trying to do different stuffs. Once we lose some amount, we next time be more careful and do research and analysis before taking any decision in the world of crypto market. If you are much of a risk taker, you can do day tradings. This is also one of the major advantages of investing in more than one coins because its not a downfall of all the coins at a time, so you always get a room to trade somewhere in the green market. But still when with the bitcoin, the red market is not that much to worry about because in the end, you always get the profit because the originality of bitcoin is not challenged yet. There are issues in some of the altcoins so before you iest in any of them, make sure that you are not being trapped.

Very wise words... patience is the key to success and profit.  I like to think about the stories I've heard where people bought bitcoin a long time ago, forgot about it for many years and/or didn't pay attention to the market, and then cashed out when bitcoin hit the news and was surging.  The people that made out in the end were the ones that just let the market do it's thing and grow.  They didn't freak out when the market dipped...becuase they didn't know about it.  They just Hodl and the market naturally appreciated.

I've purchased tokens that I expect to hold onto for years to come.  Lol...probably because I can't stand the emotional stress of day trading (haha)

I used to trade a lot but I have found that much of the time it’s just as good to hold. Also with new tax laws, there is a lot of book keeping that is supposed to be done to track all of the trades and to me I don’t think it’s worth it.

Life is much simpler to just hold for a few years and then cash out for a decent profit. We are getting in early enough that we can see big profits from holding.

I do trade as well as hold. I always try to hold my bounty coins but airdrop coins I usually sold when they pumped up. On the other hand sometime if I see price is good I sell my 25℅ coins and hold 75℅ for long term. I don't believe to sell all coins at once. I think day trading is not easy until and unless you have a good knowledge of the market otherwise you can do long-term trading and if you are consistent in trading then you can try day trading.

what im thinking about my cryptos? i think my cryptoa is like secondary income, i can get some money with trading and doing some campaign in bitcoin forum and the market. so i think i love about my crypto. and i think the price of my crypto is not matter
Bitcoin is surely the secondary source of income for many people, but some people make it their primary source of income, which might actually prove them dangerous when the market is more volatile at times. I would suggest people to see it only as an investment and secondary source of earning some extra money rather than making it primary.

In this way you remain on the safe side even when market crashes or remains volatile and unstable. Bitcoin must be used as an asset and not as a currency or be considered as a job to earn money. After all its just a store of value.

Indeed. It also depends on the kind of altcoins that you hold whether they are some good project to hold for long term or they are just some temporary projects that don’t seem to have a brighter future. If you have some good altcoins such as NEO,XRP,XMR,TRX and so on, I would suggest you to hold for a span of atleast a year to get some significant gains from it.

But if you hold some coins that don’t have a great project and are neither doing so well, I would suggest to sell and get out of it as soon as you reach some point of profit. Holding, trading and sell everything depends on the types of altcoins you hold and their potential.

It seems to me that trading is a very risky business even with small amounts of coins. If you want to trade then use the fiat currencies. They are more stable and predictable. It is worth to invest in cryptocurrency. That’s true way.

What if I need that bitcoin to support my daily needs? then there's no reason I hold it, im still sell my bitcoin even in a low value to support of my daily needs and to my family.

I do holding with my crypto and always do the right way to gain good profit,i always monitor my portfolio how cryptocurrency going on and do a lot of bounty to earn more cryptocurrency with the right and legitimate ICO.
Although we still need to be careful on some ICOs because some turns out to be a scam or at the end of the bounty they will not pay you. It is a good way earning a lot of coins when joining bounty campaigns and you'll continue to hold it for as long as you like until you've reached your desired price or trade it with other coins.

I only take swing trades because I rely on ICOs. ICOs takes vaery long time to end and makes me very pissed. When I receive my crypto, I hold it for a couple of weeks and then starting trading some of it immediately. I do not tend to sell all of my tokens in one trade because that will be dumb. If you want to start in day trading, you should know by now that it requires a lot of your time and you may not focus on the important things that you need to like friends and family and most of all, work.

Even Fiat can be super risky.  I bought some stocks in marijuana industry a month before California legalized recreational marijuana, and 4 days after they legalized it, the US Government rescinded some Obama era laws basically overriding what the state laws.  My stocks were shooting through the roof the days before this new law came out of nowhere, and theyve been worthless ever since.

Usually and preferably I buy cryptocurrency again Bitcoin to be specific. My technique is buy when it comes to a lower value then sell when it reach a higher value. This technique gives a lot of profit which I sometimes spend on crypto and some is in my savings and also in my daily needs. Bitcoin has helped me a lot in financial matters and it is very good source of extra income if you have low salary. I hope this also helped you decide managing your money and making a lot of profit.

I personally cash out a percentage of what I get from the crypto market.I invest in some new coins and hold those who think that have a great future.  :)

I don't have a fixed percentage of coins which I cash out, and the proportion depends on the monthly needs and emergencies. I have invested in a few altcoins, and a part of my Bitcoin income has been used for that purpose as well.

Because you are a novice, I recommend you keep the quality choices for safety is ETH and BTC. At first I joined the crypto market as psychologically as you, fear and a little anxiety. However, with keeping the coins safe and quality over time. You will have time to learn and monitor the market regularly to find trading opportunities, or real strategies.

I am still in the hodling stage. I invested on some cryptos (BTC, LTC and some ICOs) for the long term. So it probably won't be for another 6 months until I venture into trading at all. Of course seeing how the market has been going, the 6 months could become less or more.

In most cases, It depends on every individual's preference.

You are absolutely right. there is no other better teacher than experience itself. But the thing that every crypto holder must really put into consideration is the type of coin that they are holding or in the very beginning, try to know as many as he or she can about the coin that he or she is planning to buy or to invest in. The reason as to why is because if you know a lot about the coin you are holding it will be pretty easy for you to make decisions as to whether you will still hold or sell. For me, this is the most important thing in the crypto world. -To have knowledge.

Without a wallet code, Bitcoin, which they had on their account a few years ago, will never be able to withdraw money. After all, Bitcoin was originally designed to do so! If there is a simple way to crack people's Bitcoin wallet when the password is lost, then the cryptocurrency is worthless because losing security is not necessary.

For now I still don't have my first coin to be awarded soon from bounty campaign. I will try first to experience on how to trade, exchange or sell coins. This are the important things to know before investing in cryptocurrency. As to per experience that will teach me on how to do this things then it might be possible for me to try to invest in cryptocurrency especially bitcoin. For I know how bitcoin works from the investment and I know also when to buy and sell it base on market movement price of bitcoin. Hence, it is only a matter of time for me to try and experience the technicalities of the system. To prove my theories in doing it so that could help me in the near future in this kind of investment.

I hold a lot of my crypto and wait for the bull market to come around before I sell them. But with altcoins I share it in half, one part is for me to hold as long as possible for the price to go very high so I can see it and make maximum profits. Then the other half goes into trading, I do research, get educated about coins before I make any moves as my cryptos are very valuable to me no matter how little.

Nice plan with your portfolio, my plan for my portfolio is much more dynamic than you but it contains risky in it . I plan to buy the drop altcoins and sell all the up altcoins and that's the main way i earn my profits.
I almost win with that plan but not all the time but it requires so much efforts and time on it.

It is always the best thing to do if you go for buying of the crypto coins at lesser value as this gives you an opportunity of having some greater profit at the end.

However, you need to be very much sure that you are not making any kind of foolish decision at time of dump as there are certain investors who instead of buying more coins at that time, sell the coins which they are previously having and then suffer.

What I am doing with my crypto is most of the users also doing. And if I am not mistaken it is to hold this until its price went to high then it can be. Increasing and decreasing the value is the best thing that the crypto is doing. By this people like us that don’t have that enough money can be an investors by our own way. Because we all know that in order to join the investment thing we need a lot of capital or money. But what crypto makes is that we can invest any amount we want even it is few or even it many.

I will keep it all until its price is unbelievably so high. I guess and I strongly suggest that because if you will do that you will be so wealth or rich when the time comes that its value or price is so high. If you can hold your crypto just hold it, because here patience is the virtue. Then when the time comes that you convert your crypto unto money. Surely you can buy everything you want in that time. You will be financially free; you can buy house, cars food and almost everything in this world.

Hahahaha it means you are working in bitcoins only for your fiancé. What if she betrays you by calling these coins as scam? As many of us already have experienced, although it was not our girlfriend or fiancé but still people called this the biggest scam of the time. So take some advisory actions before telling your finance what you have with you and how all this works for her.

I'm still confused on the tax thing, I've never sold bitcoin period. But I have bought on gdax, then sent to various wallets each time, now if a transaction is taxed, then as far as they know I'm doing a transaction and I'll be taxed for giving myself my own btc?? I have a hard time believing, that the IRS is going to be able to keep up with all this. My personal transaction history alone is amazingly complicated, and I've done nothing more than buy, send to wallets and give away a little crypto to family and friends I've tried to help learn. When I went to France and traded dollars for euros I didn't have to put that on my tax returns, this is really some bullshit if you ask me.

I hold my crypto because I am a long term investor and I hope that in one or 2 years my profits will be much more increased

I mostly like to hold more for some years and it give me good earnings too so you can make your own decision for your situation and bitcoin is not for earning and it also very much useful for future generations.
I do have the same intention too with my cryptocurrency, which I guess is best choice for now due to sudden dropping of price. We are all wanted to get a high profit from it so it is better to hold it for a while and wait till it's price gets high or increased again before you're going to sell it.

Hi here cosgui! As of the moment i HODL. I previously bought clothes using bitcoin, I have even bought a bitcoin socks last december. But currently, due to the low price of bitcoin it feels hard to let off some bitcoin just to purchase something that is no a need. However, some cost can't be prevented like internet fee and electricity. By those I use my bitcoin to paid it all off. If you are asking what could be done hodl or trade, i could suggest that follow your friend. If the price is low you can't gain enough revenue by just holding, you need those bitcoins to work for you and that is when the trading comes in.

Good Luck

Same here, I hodl my coins if is worth hodling for and If I know that the project is active, meaning thay coin has a big chance to become bigger. SOmetime hodl and sell it when it has value . But mostly holding first and study the flow or pattern of the prices.

Preference on how will you make profit out of crypto depends on the user itself. Trading in my opinion is a bit risky unlike investing especially with bitcoin where profit has a more chance to be earned due to the high demand on the market. But the best thing to do is to try all of it and see it for yourself.
absolutely agree, in any case, you need to try and start to understand the earnings on the cryptocurrency

I buy and hodl. I buy when the price so ultra cheap and hodl when the price starts to climb. I also invest in ICOs so I don't really just have bitcoins with me but other coins as well most notably a reasonable amount of etherium. Don't just invest on a single coin, go out there and explore. There are tons and tons of alt coins to invest on.

If you don't have anything to do with your coins like bitcoin then you can just hold it. I'm trading but it's not very often and is only happening for few times. There's a fund that I made that's dedicated for holding and I have some alts that are on hold too. And when I have time to trade and I've seen some of my coins earned and increased then that's the time that I'm selling. Also it's a good way to use as an alternative cash, when you want to purchase something online and you want to use it, there's a way but its limited.

Yes it does depend on your preference and where you feel comfortable with making money with, for example; I tried day trading first and did that for a month but I was not really earning as much as I was expecting so I feel like it wasn't for me. Then ventured into long term instead because I could not really fit in my schedule day trading and maybe that could be the reason why I wasn't good at it, but surprisingly I gained more profits from long term than short term.

My first step is always to study the market and invest in the best ICO. Once that is done, I wait for the ICO to stabilize and then rise.
Once I feel that my ICO is giving me sufficient returns (50% and above), I immediately sell it off and get back to step one. There is no point holding something when you know it will come down from peak. The harsh truth is that entire cryptocurrency market is seen more as an asset instead of a currency. Everyone wants good returns on their investments and that is why people invest here.

The current market is in a downward trend so I think the current crypto trade is very dangerous. You can choose when the market rebound to sell and take back capital or continue to hold when the market rebounds again next month. Keep watching the market continuously as it can fluctuate at any time.

Buy coins and hold them (long term investing)
Buy coins and spend them (to buy products, services, or other coins... the whole idea is to spend them, right?)
Do more short term trading between currencies to make money (short term trading)
Buy alt coins and hope they go up
Look for ICOs and buy tokens if you think its a good investment

anyone want to add to or amend this list?

I do trade and additionally hold. I generally attempt to hold my bounty coins however airdrop coins I normally sold when they pumped up. Then again at some point in the event that I see cost is great I offer my 10℅ coins and hold 90℅ for long term. I don't accept to offer all coins without a moment's delay. I think day trading isn't simple until and unless you have a decent information of the market else you can do long-term trading and on the off chance that you are reliable in trading then you can attempt day trading.

I suggest you should try both and see for yourself which of the two is more profitable. It is better if you have  the skill on that area so that you really know what to do. But don't close your mind to suggestions or options. What isn't so known might give you the opportunities that you might need. Experience it before dismissing such idea.

Mine and hodl will provide you a sure profit, less risk and less efforts. Daily trading is high risk if you are not used to it. If you have plenty of free time and wants to involve in daily trading I think it is better for you to study first about how to trade and when you are confident enough just start with a small amount first and see it for yourself if it is beneficial to you.

Since I haven't enough time to pursue trading, I prefer to hold my coins intead. Hodling is less risky but it will take weeks, months or even years before you earn profit from it. I have several cryptocurrencies in my possession and all of them are solid coins with potential to grow more in the long term. If you are planning to hold a coin for long term investment then take time to research it first before you going to buy.

Yes you're right... as a matter of fact it's a subjective and personal choice. It varies from person to person. There are many factors that affects your decision of dealing in the crypto market. Majorly it depends on your risk taking capacity. If you are ready to take risks and accept whatever comes your way, then obviously you'd take a major leap and go for a huge investment. Mining is for those who can afford to have n maintain a reliable system that is secure n stable. While the job of a day trader demands proper attention and time of the person doing the job. See if you ask for a better route, it would be the one that is favourable to you the most.

What I do to my crypto is certainly to see the market and the development of the altcoin. That way I can decide what to do with my altcoin. If the market is in good condition I will sell it.

So correct. For the meantime because the market is red I am holding my crypto but same as you i am just monitoring thr market if the price is high I will sell my alts too. Waiting for the right time.

I mostly mine and hodl, but my friend day trades and says I should start getting into it. What do you prefer to do and do you think there is a better route to take? I personally think it's all up to personal preference, I'm new though.
I don't have a lot of trade in my encrypted currency now, and I hold them all the time. I know that investing in encrypted currencies is risky, so I worry that frequent trading will cost me a lot of money. My friend told me that I should be patient rather than frequent.

I invest it to other altcoins to gain more profit even if its small profit, and I do try trading investing to ICO's and many more.  Also I buy things that i want gadgets clothes and many things. Also I buy gifts for my relatives and I help other who in need. I donate some of my money to the charity. I like helping other who are really in need and also i'm saving up for my emergency funds. you know for emergency purposes.
I always encourage people in my social cycle to go for different tastes and ideas. Never restrict yourself within a specific world. Try different things and this experience will make your mind so open that new chances will be popping up. Never ever think that you can’t do this thing or that thing, rather make yourself confident and try it, if not, nothing would happen but if it is, you will be amazingly growing.

As of the moment, I'm saving my crypto. Then I plan to invest it and ensure that there will be an increased return of investment. This is a very good move in the bitcoin industry when we try to be wiser and be business minded.  I hope that all of us who are engaged in crypto will get what is due to us as we  strive and work harder for a better future.

It depends on your strategy on how you can get more profit. See to it that you will not get frustrated of your decision in bitcoin. For now, it is best to hold your bitcoin because the price is very low. Collect as many altcoins by joining campaigns and mining then trade it with Bitcoin.  Bitcoin price for sure will go up in the next few months.

Well, right now I just intend to accumulate more Bitcoins as much as I can by working online jobs such as bounty campaigns and holding it as much as the value meets my expectations. I really do not intend to withdraw them the way most do because as for me, this is just one of my many investments. To be even more categorical about it, I do not rely on it for my sustenance. Hence, I can afford to be quite lax about it. In time, hopefully this year, I will put them to good use because I am planning to start something tangible and realistic at the moment. I will still retain a few of my Bitcoins, though. I still believe it will be of use in the future.

It is upto the coin features which i decide what to do, i have some coins very old which are running in mining by just holding the coins, and some coins which are in good for trading as their price fluctuate every week time. So it is upto you to decide what to do with your crypto coins.

I decide according to their features like what i said above.

Actually I am holding many coins and tokens, because I believe that their prices are going to rise highly soon. But I am trading some other coins too to generate daily and weekly income. The market is still down and the prices are currently cheap, I also take this opportunity to buy Bitcoin and Ethereum mainly, because this are the most promising coins.

Well don’t underestimate your bitcoin strategy a lot of people are not even doing this, you are going really well, if you have money you can invest in bitcoin so it will give you a lot of profit that you can spend a good life, I think bitcoin is the best currency right now as a lot of people are living on the behalf of bitcoin only,. I use to do the same I am earning profit and wait to invest at the time of red so wait till let it be green and again then I invest so this is what I do most of the time which made me a professional investor and I wish the same to you.

I have been participating in several bounty campaigns and airdrops to get a lot of cryptos, but I have also acquired some altcoins through exchanges and I have come to the conclusion that the current market is not as before, when it was very usual to see large pumps at the price of the most the altcoins that allowed you to obtain good income easily. Therefore I am no longer a holder and prefer to sell most of the altcoins I own as soon as they generate enough profit, at least 100%.

In most cases, It depends on every individual's preference.

Trading is another way to make money with cryptos and is indeed profitable but it is just that trading is a bit complicated especially for new comers. That's why I am sticking into investing and holding which satisfies my needs becsuse the market value moves a lot. Buying during the downfalls and selling whenever the price is high might be an easy thing but is really profitable due to the msrket volayility of cryptos.

Holding for long investments is more practical for me especially if you bought them when their price is lower. But I also like the idea of short period of trades because in these transactions I can earn faster. Both have advantages and disadvantages but both of them also works just fine. The thing is, I think you should try both so can actually decide to yourself whether which of holding and short trading would you prefer.

Like this i am also use my coins for trading. Mainly i earn crypto to fulfill my needs and requirements. So i earn it through several ways like signature campaign, mining, trading and some time gambling also. In this digital world many  businesses and merchants using Bitcoin for trading,so i use my coins to buy my stuffs from them. I also used my crypto for investment, i know it is risky but effective too. I also store some of my Bitcoin for my future use. I know its price will be increase in future then it will be helpful to me.  ;)

I have dipped my hand into day trading as well when the conditions are good. I am a much more cautious trader though and only make a move when it is sure. I like to use the mining profits rather than real cash. If you make more, great. If you lose, it doesnt hurt so bad.

Been studying margin trading but you need a lot to make it worth your time.

Mining can be quite profitable depending on the market and the number of rigs.

If you are content with what you are able to mine and you want to depend on only mining then its right to hold but if you are someone who wants more then you can do trading.  It is important to note that the trading unlike holding, comes with a higher risk. Like you personally said, its personal preference so just follow your own interests.

Thats a pretty hard question. Depending on the value of coin I decide to keep them or sell. I hold my pennies or analyze the penny carefully in the future, If the future pennies I hold are not making progress, I will sell them and I accept the loss. But if the coin I hold the trend is increasing, I will hold them to wait. after that i will turn my profit into some real world asset like gold and real estate business

Yeah, at the end of the day, everything will be up to your personal preference. But at least before choosing which strategy you are comfortable with, you have a wide array of choices. I mean you know that there is more to mere hodling. Day trading is better than simply hodling. At least you will always have something with which you can keep yourself with day trading. Hodling tend to be boring at times. An active participation is much preferable sometimes.

From now, where the bitcoin value is not that good and not stable, my strategy is to hold my bitcoin ‘till the value rises. We can’t predict what will be the value of it but once it rises up quickly, that will be the time that i will sell it or convert it to cash. I will monitor every minute the value of bitcoin.

Yes, you might get confuse if you take up that routine right quickly. Do some research prior to what you are about to do, such as asking some experts to that thing. Well, if you feel you are familiar and you won't get confused then dare to try that thing, it would be a new good opportunity for you to get some profit.

Since as you said you are new in trading I believed it is not advisable for you until you gain knowledge and deep understanding how trading works. Daily trading is risky and requires more time and effort. Doing mining in your case is better if you are earning from it. I suggest you better use your earned btc from mining to buy some potential altcoins and do a long term trading.

Actually there are several way to get crypto. You can mine, trade or invest. Also you can join crypto related project that will be paid with coins. Decision fully depends on you, your condition or your preference. Once we have got crypto, the best decision is holding  it for several months or years waiting for price to rise sharply to get big profit as expected.

Preference on how will you make profit out of crypto depends on the user itself. Trading in my opinion is a bit risky unlike investing especially with bitcoin where profit has a more chance to be earned due to the high demand on the market,i can get some money with trading and doing some campaign in bitcoin forum and the marked. so  i thing i love about my crypto. and i think the price of my crypto is not matter.

It depends on the coin wether it has potential of good profit or it has none at all. I usually hold those and wait for the price to go up before I sell to make profit. Holding is one of the best way to earn crypto you can also try other ways like mining or trading but those requires a lot compare to holding.

If you would ask me what will i going to do with my crypto? I'll definitely go for trading or any activities which will soon to be benificial to me specially for the growth of my money and that would be the most ideal plan for my crypto but sadly to say is still don't get my first money here in crypto world. However, even if i've received the payment in my bounty campaign.the best thing to do as for now is to go for holding

I mostly mine and hodl, but my friend day trades and says I should start getting into it. What do you prefer to do and do you think there is a better route to take? I personally think it's all up to personal preference, I'm new though.
I think there will be more people here like me using Altcoin on dice and betting. It can be like that it is gambling and betting, the odds are extremely low, this will not be an option to become rich, but it helps us relieve the tensions of work.

I trade and hold my coins for a while. I will also continue to expand the number of coins by consistently participating in bounty programs. I already feel and prove that it is very profitable.
From this time I will also hold my cryptocurrency. From now own the price of the other coin are still decreasing in the market. So it is  better to hold your coin and wait the right time. When the price going high it is the time to sell your coin. And find another coin that are promising and profitable one. So that it can give you a bigger profit.

Holding is a safe option, but some professional traders don't like it, they want to play with the market and now is the time to earn big money.
I choose to play in the market, because if we are right in choosing, analyzing the altcoin we will trade then the profit we will get, even this way more than my own estimates. But back again to its coin holders. HODL is safe but better still try to make the best use of it.

Personally, with the way things are going now I prefer to HOLD and buy as much as I can since the market price is low. I buy as much as I can and HOLD on to my coins. Once the price goes up, I will start selling them to be able to get good profit. I still believe in Bitcoin, I know that my patience and trust in Bitcoin would be all worth it in the long run. That's just my strategy right now.

trading is not easy but it is up to you if you like to trade you need more knowledge on it. Holding is the best but you can sell you me coin if the price is in high price but if you are not compatible the price just hold it and wait the price you want.

Sell now better than keeping prices down and the news does not affect all we wait more than a month and there is no hope in the return price again and there are many currencies have fallen the price by more than 1000% and no return

As for me,  I share it in half, one part is for trading, and the other is to hold as long as possible and wait for the higher price.

I only trade with coins and tokens that I hold. Most of the time I just try to increase my current holdings with trading. It is less risky this way, because you will either end up with a coin/token you are already comfortable with holding or you end up with Bitcoin.

5 years ago I was collecting BTC on sites that distributed it for free. so I collected 0.4 BTC. then I forgot about them. and at the end of 2017 I found in my wallet 19000*0,4= 7600$. Cool? very cool! I also mine BCN, which gave X100 profit. Therefore, I believe that investing in cryptocurrency is the safest way to earn money. You can also trade on the exchange, but it is risky, as you can lose the entire Deposit.

Anyone have crypto must hold it and find a trust invest or trading site to make a profit then if the price of that crypto is high you can sell it

I mostly do two things. Either I sell for profit or I hold, like most people do. I sell when the value of the coin is enough for me to gain the profit I am targeting, which is usually around 30-50%, I know it's wishful thinking, especially now that market is not doing good, so I just try to get the minimum, and there were even times when I adjust my goal because it's already taking too much time. I usually would like to wait on my ventures for roughly about three months to a maximum of one year. However, when most assets are low, then I hold, there's no other better way to go around it, it's the only way to avoid losses.

Holding or trading cryptocurrency are good activities in bitcoin, they have the same advantages and disadvantages, they are both risky but at the end you can get a good profit from it. Holding cryptos is a good one in which all you have to do is to wait but sometimes the problem is some cryptos are continuously fall down which is the hardest time when holding a bitcoin, on the otherhand trading is also a good activity in bitcoin which many people are being successful because of trading.

very good if you choose to trade because it is very profitable but you have to learn first in the right way so that you do not get caught in the losses because of choosing the wrong coin you want to trade.

In fact, the best way is just to keep the cryptocurrency in the long term. Mining is currently not very profitable because you will need now is not a small investment. Using the experience of previous years it becomes clear that it is possible to benefit enormously from the fact that just to keep bitcoins. I will personally wait until the price will jump up.

I think it's the future money. So I hold it and trade it when there is a good opportunity to increase my holdings. Being early in crypto gives us the chance to have financial freedom.

Constantly trading is a very risky business. It is necessary to analyze well. The world situation can also influence. It makes sense to buy the currency when it goes down.

I recommend a long-term investment for everyone. It is the least exposed to the risks of price fluctuations in the market and much less nervous you. You just forget about your investments for a few years.

Just keep your cryptocurrency as long as possible in a secure wallet. This is the best strategy I know. And sell only when the price will rise significantly.
