What is the safest way to log MEW among of these?
    1.Keystone File
    2.Private Key
    3.Connecting Metamask.

I don't recommend to login to MEW account using privatekey, so I will go for Keystore File for more safety.

I think the safest way to log in MEW is via keystore/json file and don't forget to bookmark MEW homepage on your browser, so everytime you want to login always access MEW via bookmark manager to prevent you from MEW fake login page (phishing).

    3.Connecting Metamask.
1, paper wallet - just print your privatekey and then keep your paper wallet on the safe place.
2, Metamask - that was adding more security layer to your wallet, I remember there is a lot of people are saying about they are never having any problem while using metamask to keep all of their amount.
3, Keystone - this should be the last due to the security measure is only pegged on your password.

The safest among this 3 is the metamask it can secured all your token and also detect malicious website by that you can ensure better security of your funds. Metamask is a user friendly interface also you can download a plugin on google store for easy use

I use Metamask it is simple, convenient and safe. So far you never hear any stories about people being hacked when using Metamask. The same can not be said for Keystone file and Private Key.

I would say that all are equally the same risk. Be sure to check the site's address prior to inputting sensitive info. That should do it.

all that is safe, but it can also turn unsafe if :
1. you are not careful in entering data into a website that actually is phishing, so your account can be accessed by others
2. make sure the device you use to login MEW is protected from viruses, if the device you use has a lot of viruses it could cause your account is not secure

Better using Metamask while login to Myetherwallet. Private key is to risky.
You can use private key as long as your computer clean from any malware or keylogger.

Definitely Metamask. Use the key phrases and your Metamask password to login to the browser addon. then log into MEW with Metamask.

Whilst the key file and private key is perfectly fine if your computer is not compromised, the problem is most people dont know if their computers are compromised...

Most would probably say a hardware key like Ledger, but besides that then it's definitely MetaMask.  I use to use the private key but that means storing it somewhere so you can copy and paste.  At least MetaMask is behind a password wall so that helps.  Besides that... it makes using MEW much more seamless.  I highly recommend it (I just wish I could delete the default account in MetaMask.)

There is no safest method of using myetherwallet.  If you expose any of those to an unauthorized user, you'll lose your tokens.  Simple as that.  All 3 methods are great ways to access your tokens through MEW and are safe to use as long as you keep them secured.

What is the safest way to log MEW among of these?
    1.Keystone File
    2.Private Key
    3.Connecting Metamask.
I recommended using Keystone/JSON File. Make sure pay attention
1. Safe your Keystone file in Computer that has antivirus up to date.
2. Back up your Keystone file, with archiving it into .rar file and protected with password then safe it on another media storage(for backup). I do using this because virus are difficult to broken/infected .rar file. Besides, MyEtherWallet doesn't have any backup about your file, so if you losing it or was broken by virus its very risky.
3. Open MEW from browser with type the url, myetherwallet , don't falling into phising link.
4. Nothing 100% secured system, but at least you have 99% control your wallet in secure.

I was interested in possible cases of hacking a secret key by selecting code using various programs for this. Neither in this topic. nor the similar ones that are available on this forum I've never heard that a secret key can be hacked. Proceeding from this, I conclude that the MyEtherWallet wallet is quite reliable and you just have to follow the precautions when using it.

I use Metamask, too. But are the funds really safe when I´m storing them in longterm, is it not like a hot-/online-wallet?

Actually I use 2 Metamask-accounts, 1. for buying/selling, 2. for storage.

i think keystone files is the right way to protect your myetherwallet but its also necessary to save the private key some way saved in case you lose the keystone file.

1. Metamesk: This is better because you aren't exposing any private keys.
2. Keystore: Next best option because of password protection though it possess same kind of risks of entering private key.
3. Private key: Not at all a recommend method to access wallet.

The most important thing is to save the private key and bookmark the MEW address to avoid fishing.
but many suggest connecting to metamask. everyone can choose the best. :)

I never use private key and I not recommend to access your MEW with private key.
I just use Keystone File and I think is best and safest for me and I combine with metamask.

For myetherwallet security I suggest use metamask but if you are a mobile user you can use keystore. I'm using keystore file in opening my wallet because keystore file is very easy to use that is the advantage. Don't ever login using your private key because there are thousands of hacker out their. Be safe and research more about this.

My ether wallet in shortly (MEW) is a favourite wallet for altcoins. It has a great security system. It provides private key for securing. Private key is the best security system for my ether wallet.

Metamask is more usefull for use mew but you should keystore to access your account in safe. Private key is so dangerous to login your account.
Also you should use more than 1 accounts to reduce the risk of stole.

Offline MEW is better than all of the above method because there is no chance of exposing your private keys to the internet. This reduces your risk upto a greater extent. But main disadvantage of cold storage is you can't access them frequently. So if you had to choose from the archive options then I would go with metamesk. If that isn't available them JSON keystore file.

It is the best reminder to everyone that we should keep our wallet in a safe always. And be guided that we should pay attention for every action we take because once they hacked your wallet everything will be lost.If everything will be lost, your sacrifice and hardwork will be useless and only thing you can get and that is regret.

I recommend you use MetaMask for your security.
With MEW, you can access just with your Private Key so it very dangerous if anyone steal your PK, or some time you wrong and send your PK despite of address.
With MetaMask, you must access on your PC. And you should set up EAL extension for more secure your browser  ;D

I would suggest #3, Connect it to Metamask, you can download the extension in your browser, then make an account, and of course save the necessary data, then IMPORT your private key from your Myetherwallet, Then once imported, you can open your MEW using the Metamask way of logging in, it is more safer coz  the private key is hidden, and you won't be nervous anymore when logging in to your account.  It is very much useful for me.

The security of the wallet itself is quite high. But no one can give you a guarantee against your mistake, because thanks to social engineering you can be easy to manipulate. All the same I think that the purse itself is quite seriously protected.

If something does happen it is indeed the user's fault, most likely by entering details on a phishing site. MEW can only go so far trying to protect people from their own stupidity or lack of paying attention.

I don't recommend to login to MEW account using privatekey, so I will go for Keystore File for more safety.

Privatekey to me should be extremely private and unless there is just a huge need to use, should it be used. Also, the most important thing is to always keep your files safe because even if you end up using your keystore file and wrongly using it on a phishing site, that makes your account vulnerable, so at the end of it all, you also need to be extra careful in this case, but when compared to private key, it is still better.

This Three type of private code was acceptedly the safest to log MEW for our wallet but try to understand that if you accidentaly post it on a pubic was considered as your lost.Especially when you started to joined the compaigns because if you give your eth address you will never change it.And if the scenary that you post your private code in a public i will assure to you that it will be hacked. So keep your wallet key be safe always.

As of now I am using keystone file on accessing my wallet because I didn't yet buying hardware wallet to keep my Crypto more secure and safe.
Keystone isn't recommended when you are using public computer or device or old OS computer that's probably resided with viruses that will expose all your digital files and take your wallet keys.
Private key is just the same with keystone file I suppose.
Metamask is one of the slightly safer but again, don't use public computer and you must understand that your computer is virus free and secure because hijackers will steal your keys when you're going to copy and paste it between forms and applications.

Of course, common security things still aplly, like not going to suspicious sites, avoiding phishing links and so on.

First of all, you have to bookmark https://myetherwallet.com because sometime we not check the secure sign in address bar and put our login details at phishing site and hacker got our all details. Always try to login with UTC file and strong password because UTC file is in encrypted form and no one can break it and use private window to login as it don't save any of information and cookies.

I guess that the combo of Keystone File and Metamask is the best way to protect your MEW. there are some good suggestions here but they are only reducing the risk. at the end of it all you are still using a web wallet on an online computer and that is risky on its own.
add to that the fact that MEW may be popular but the popularity is only among users not a lot of coder who must review the code to find bugs and fix them.

If you use the bookmark manager when you log in to your MyEtherWallet wallet and always go through your bookmark on the site, then the metamask does not need to be expanded for the browser. In this case, you can not make a mistake in the name of the site and go to a phishing fraud site. If we consider the question of how to safely open a purse - a secret key or Keystone File, then the preference should, of course, be given to Keystone File.

Agree , Public networks are prone in hacking especially if there is a crowd using the same network that you are using.
Just use your own internet connection for the security of your own. I personally don't use public internets even when I am needing it. For the sake of my own coins. I can just buy load credits and convert it into our country's internet.

Im choosing keystore file. Keystore is a file that could be downloaded on your PC BUT needs a password to be accessed which makes it more secure while Private key is just copying the code then paste. Whoever can get into the system of your PC if you are exposed on keylogger can log-in your account easily. Metamask is imported on your browser but I found it easy to access and less secure.

I prefer using the private key than the two. I think that it is more convenient than to connect my MEW to metamask or keystore file. I also feel safe that no one can enter my account when I use a private key to open it. Although the two ways are also good,It still depends on the user in which way he is comfortable.

What is the safest way to log MEW among of these?
    1.Keystone File
    2.Private Key
    3.Connecting Metamask.
I choose Keystone File!  ;D ;D ;D
Personally, I do this: 1) I add Myetherwallet to my browser tabs (I'm afraid of fishing)
2) I move Keystone Fillet to an empty USB flash drive
3) When I want to go into my wallet, I insert USB flash drive in my laptop...  8) 8) 8)

Using 3 options above, using keystroke / Json File and private keys. If you want access via addons use metamask. What to watch for MEW is
1. Bookmark MyEtherWallet website
2. Do not share private keys
3. Do not store private keys, Json files etc in other emails. 4. Do not click on links that are not clearly emailed or website.

The better for me is Private Key, its easy and fast to used But the important is never share a private key to someone else to avoid hacking, never click any site that you think is a phising site. To protect the private key, better to copy it on the safe way that your the only one can access to your account and must do to bookmark the site of myetherwallet. If you think that your not comfortable to used Private key, you can choose among the two its either Keystone File or Metamask

You can use these three so you will sure that your coins are secured, because without JSON file there will be no chance to get into your wallet even if your computer was attacked by malwares, you can add your wallets to metamask extension if you are using dex or decentralized exchange because metamask will prevent these phishing sites to get your private keys, your private keys will remain encrypted to the metamask extension while you are doing transaction with these exchange giving you more peaceful trading experience, metamask is a legit extension for your private keys protection and it is being recommended by MEW itself to use this extension.

I think the best way is to use the keystone file. As much as you can, you should protect your private key. One way to protect it is to actually just keep it and  hinder yourself from entering  it to open your wallet, There are instances of fake websites that gathers private keys and transfer funds.

They are all risky to use. I'm using myetherwallet and I always keep and double check my private key. Sometimes there comes a confusion between giving your eth address or your private key. This happens to one of my friends. He was confused between eth address and private key. Instead of giving his eth address he gave his private key. First of all you have to double check any inputs you give to anyone especially in joining projects as it is very risky. One wrong move and you will loose your money. So you should be hundred percent sure when giving your information to them.

There is no safest method of using myetherwallet.  If you expose any of those to an unauthorized user, you'll lose your tokens.  Simple as that.  All 3 methods are great ways to access your tokens through MEW and are safe to use as long as you keep them secured.
This, the methods exposed by the op are all good but at the end it depends in the user to use those methods correctly, you may install the most advanced security system in your house but if you let the door open it is all for nothing and the same applies to wallets, even if you use a method that is not the best as long as you are vigilant then you are fine.

While most of people recommend using Metamask , I always use Keystore File I am just comfortable using it . But remember not being careful nothing will help you . As for the Private key it is a big NO for me . For decentralized exchange I just use separated wallet and move the token I only want to sell to it and after selling I move my ETH to my main wallet , same thing for buying just deposit ETH into my separated wallet buy the token I want then move it to my main wallet  .
I am really against using your main wallet into any decentralized exchange whether you using Metamask or not .

What is the safest way to log MEW among of these?
    1.Keystone File
    2.Private Key
    3.Connecting Metamask.
I have been using metamask for a while now and I have never had any problem with it. It is an extension with a very strong layer of security and so far, I have never gotten any bad review about it, neither have I seen an issue with me using it. So far, I will rather stick to metamask than choose any of the other options.

All the above, keystore file seems to me like the safest unless you feel your PC is extremely safe, that is when you should be entering with your private key. I am always very scared to play with my private key anyway; maybe that is the reason why.

The most important thing is to always keep any of them safe; because even your keystore file lying anywhere is not good, if you cannot protect it.

In talking of MEW security concerns they did not recommend to use of these top two features because of hacking activities are very rampant today in which many known trading and wallet sites are already compromised by the hackers. MEW recommend the use of Meta mask and Nano Ledger hardware wallet because of its offline capability in which it ensure the safety of your coins but if you really need to use these given options then i recommend to use the Keystone file because it requires your personal password before logging IN.

But i still login with private key, so can it be dangerous? Because i already bookmark the website?

for MEW security concerns they recommend only first 5 accesses to uses i.e., View w/ Address Only, MetaMask, Ledger Wallet, TREZOR and Digital Bitbox.
I am using Metamask, till now I did not face any problem with MEW.

What is the safest way to log MEW among of these?
    1.Keystone File
    2.Private Key
    3.Connecting Metamask.

I think that the best option is use the private key. This is the simplest way for organizing decent security system. Just remember the phrase. Connection with Metamask and saving the file are more difficult options.

The safest way is to connect metamask but i will recommend using json file instead of private key you would just locate the file and enter your password, for me private key takes time to copy paste and the letters are very sensitive.

One of the way - generate offline transaction on the second computer. Point is that you must use your private key only on the offline computer. More information here:

Yes, I use this option. Perhaps this is not the safest way, but it's probably one of the most convenient. The most important thing is to store your key in a safe place, you can use software tools or software and hardware.

Many use Metamask to get into Myetherwallet. you should try it. more quickly and safely in my opinion.
I would not even try any other option except this. I have been using this since I read some reviews a long time ago on the easiest way to keep your Ethereum assets safe and I stumbled on meta mask and the reviews was what made me anyway.

Also, looking at the security protocol of metamask and how easy it is to use, I find it a much better option in terms of security than toying around with the private key as well as the keystore file.

I think the use of keystore / json file in MyEtherWallet is safe, because the use of this information is very rare in the hands of someone else.
So it is better to login using keystore / json file with password.
Yeah for my that is enough as well, no only a hacker needs your password the hacker needs that file to get access to your coins and as long as you always access myetherwallet from a bookmark in a computer with no viruses you are as safe as you can be, we must remember that even if there are better ways to do something we need to be comfortable with the security we are employing or it is not going to work.

What is the safest way to log MEW among of these?
    1.Keystone File
    2.Private Key
    3.Connecting Metamask.

Using our private keys for anything except store them is something incredibly risky, you only need to make a mistake once and you are done and if that was the private key holding most of your assets then you are lost and will never get those coins back and when we take into account the incredible amount of different coins there are in ETH and how valuable they can become securing our wallets should be our first priority.

Actually I use 2 Metamask-accounts, 1. for buying/selling, 2. for storage.

Metamask is even safer than mew because of potential hacks that can be done on mew compared to metamask. I use metamask wallet addresses but I feel lazy loging in using their extension so I use mew to log in always. You just have to keep your seed very safe and you are free to go.

It's because its easy for hackers to take information from private keys unlike with those files keystone or JSON file. I haven't used keystone file either to login to MEW. The first best option to log-in MEW is via metamask chrome extension because your private keys are not exposed and the extension will protect you from phishing sites. The second best way is to log-in via KeyStore/JSON file, basically, this file is the encrypted version of your private key. If you are login via keystore file make sure you are visiting myetherwallet legit website, It is recommended that you must set a password of at least 15 characters for your keystore file & do install Cryptonite chrome extension it will protect you from fake websites. Regarding logging via private key is not recommended & unsafe.

I believe that for safe use of myetherwallet, it is enough to worry about the security of your key. Often users themselves are to blame for compromising their secret key. When I participated in the bounty campaign, I met a couple of times when at registration users mistakenly indicated not the public address of their wallet, but a private key. metamask is good so far but there are still many linking accounts with personal / json key files in metamask directly, if you believe it is harmless it is not a problem, but MEW itself does not recommend it explicitly. I began to think that one day MEW only allows access only via ledger or hardwallet for the user's security level.

None of those, the safest way is to use a hardware wallet.
Ledger Nano connects and interacts with mew so that is your best choice.

It amazes me that even after all the information out there regarding crypto security, someone will still use web based wallets (even with metamask).
And the thousands of experiences of people who have had their funds stolen...when will people learn?

So just cough up the 100usd to get a ledger.
Or if you want to save money go oldschool and paper wallet everything.
It isn't that hard, there are tons of faqs and guides online showing how to do it.
One of my colleagues is totally hardcore.  He has got all of his crypto on pieces of paper scattered accross a safe locked in his home, a safe in his bank, and a safe buried in his backyard.  Not even joking, he dug a whole a buried all his keys.
I asked him about it and he said he used to have everything on Exodus Wallet, and just had this feeling that he should totally secure everything.
Lo and behold, another colleague gets his Exodus Wallet hacked and 20k worth of crypto stolen.

How long did it take him to secure everything?
Just a couple days, that's it.
For me, I'm not that hardcore and got a ledger, took a whole 15 to 20 min to set up, move everything to it, and secure it.

In my opinion, the MyEtherWallet wallet is one of the best digital wallets. However, in order to increase its security, it is necessary to enter it through the browser's bookmark manager to avoid phishing sites that will try to have approximately the same name. If you only want to see the contents of the wallet, it's best to use its function etherscan. io, which allows such a view through the introduction to the search line of the address of the purse, not its key. The secret key should be used less frequently, and use instead of it Keystone File, which serves as a substitute for the secret key and the contents of which the scammers can not see.

I have been using MyEtherWallet for more than a year or so and I have been logging in with private key. But, I haven't had any issues. In my opinion, the safest option to log in with is either using keystone file or metamask. From safety point of view, Keystone file is a lot safer than private key. You have to keep private in safe place , so that you don't lose it.

Wow. such a good advice dont you think so? Came on, why dont you invest $100 and buy a ledger wallet? it is the most safest thing that you can do. Metamask is just an interface, it is not a good way to store all your wealth. Just buy a hardware wallet if you want to protect your money.

What is the safest way to log MEW among of these?
    1.Keystone File
    2.Private Key
    3.Connecting Metamask.
I've been using the private key for a long time to manage my wallets. I have not experienced any problems with this, but I store private keys in an encrypted file. In my opinion, you can use any method of entering your wallet, if you observe the necessary security measures.

Out of the three options:
    1.Keystone File
    2.Private Key
    3.Metamask

... private key is less secure, if your machine is infected with a trojan virus - it most likely steal your private key. I prefer keeping the "Keystore Json File" on a separate USB flash card and encrypt it with a password. Also I understand, that Ledger Nano S may be somewhat expensive - but it gives you an extra layer of security.

The safest among this 3 is the metamask it can secured all your token and also detect malicious website by that you can ensure better security of your funds. Metamask is a user friendly interface also you can download a plugin on google store for easy use to safe login.

Hi, I read your post buy a my friend said me that the issue is also for who uses Metamask, because of it depends by a redirect at the moment of uploading keystore file or digit password... I hope it's not real and you are right!

For a long time the project MyEtherWallet did not give up its positions and still does not pass because the hacking of DNS servers does not belong to the hacking of the project itself, it seems to me impossible to say that the substitution of DNS services as it was reflected in the project itself, still users are a big vulnerability, so there's no need to talk about hacking MEW.

Keystone file + metamask will be much better,as the hacker will need to get your keystone to open your wallet, plus the metamask extension encrypts your private keys whenever you are doing transaction in some DEX or decentralized exchanges like etherdelta, forkedelta, idex so forth and so on,but it will be much better if you are using these two powerful things together with a hardwallet so that there will be no reason for your wallet to get hack.

tips for keeping myetherwallet account safe:
1. Do not give the private key to someone else.
2. Do not store Private key or your wallet account information in google drive, dropbox or other online storage media.
3. Never insert a private key into a website other than MEW.
4. Always check authenticity MEW web address, it could be a web phishing that has a web look similar to mew.
5. Copy your Private Key to Multiple Flashdiscks in different locations, for example 1 flashdisck you keep at home, 1 again in the closet, 1 again in your house and place different places but still safe from the bad guys.

Each and every of these listed methods are security measures that work, but if choosing how to guard your investment then you'd better settle for the best and in this case the best is through meta-mask. with meta mask you don't have to directly log into your account  hence reducing the chances of getting hacked. Meta mask provides an extra layer of security to your wallet helping hide your private details and making it impossible for hackers to obtain them,, Using Keystone file is just as effective, just that you still need the physical Password click ins to access your wallet. which exposes your wallet in the process.

If you still use your private key to access to your MEW, I think you should ready to see your wallet will empty very soon

The best and safest way to login MyEtherWallet is to use Keystore File/Json file to login. Keystore file is very highly encrypted and its very hard to decrypt it requires password to decrypt and always check the url before putting any key and login through private key is  the most dangerous way to login MEW.

Logging in using keystore/json file is not a recommended action to access your MyEtherWallet, using json file is the same as entering your private key, if you want only to view your token balances and recent transaction use
ETH (https://etherscan.io)
Tokens (Ethplorer.io)

Use metamask and transfer all your balance in that browser extension. Here's how
https://myetherwallet.github.io/knowledge-base/migration/moving-from-private-key-to-metamask.html. Logging in using metamask allows you to access your wallet quickly, safely & easily. It is more secure because you never enter your private key on a website. It protects you from phishing & malicious websites.

Also install MyEtherWallet to easily browse you eth Addresses.

My etherwallet has a  wide range of security options to offer. Users have a great deal of flexibility when it comes to how they can access their wallets.your account is secured with a password and a private key, which is generated upon opening an account. It’s highly recommended that you make a backup of your private key. Whatever you do, don’t store this sensitive information on your computer. Instead, consider paper or a secure external device.

But you are the responsibility for your wallet. So don't share the private key. This important for this process. Private key help to open your wallet. So save the private key. If need for the more information read the rules and regulations. Then create the wallet. Save the private key and ethereum address. So if need to receive the token or ethereum. Share the ethereum address. But don't share the private key. If try to share some people easy to hack your account wallet. So it your wallet. So you are the responsibility for the any issue. Everyone has its ways I use all of them interchangeably just to break the routine. However I do think that the best and most secure way to access it is through Metamask. This is just my opinion.

I use a Trezor hardware wallet, with the MEW interface and I think it's great.  I don't worry about security at all.  Best investment I've made when it comes to crypto because it allows me to sleep at night knowing I don't have to worry about my coins getting stolen while sitting on an exchange!

I don't recommend to login to MEW account using privatekey, so I will go for Keystore File for more safety.

Yes keystone is much safer than private key. I have bewn using myetherwallet for awhile now and have to say it is quite great. I haven't come across any issues at all, no lost coins or hacking incident. Plus I love using myetherwallet for it is so easy to use.

I prefer to log in to the Myetherwallet account using a Keystore file. Do not log in to the MEW account using the Privatekey. Safety rules are important. Keep the private key information in the paper wallet.

When you are just to check your wallet balance, I would prefer you to view your wallet through address only rather than using private key. But you can also use metamask or keystore file for logging in because it is much more safer.

I prefer to use private keys instead of both. I think it's easier than connecting my MEW to metamask or keystore file. I also feel secure that no one can enter my account when I use my private key to open it. Although both ways are also good, it still depends on the user in what way he / she feels comfortable. The private key is safe as long as you keep it up. and most importantly you have a backup file of your private key.

MyetherWallet is still secure, and MyetherWallet can be used with a hardware wallet, which is the safest, and it is best to use it with bookmarks in case of phishing sites.

Why do I use metamask but I still log in and transfer token from one computer to another (login with private key) and no need to validate with metamask ???

This service provides some security recommendations. for example, this is the lack of preservation in the system of your data, which, accordingly, is not transferred to third parties. further - do not click on dubious advertisements and links, also install the MetaMask extension and connect the purses to increase security. about wallets - it's better to use Trezor or Ledger Nano S.

The first best option to log-in MEW is via metamask chrome extension because your private keys are not exposed and the extension will protect you from phishing sites. The second best way is to log-in via KeyStore/JSON file, basically, this file is the encrypted version of your private key.

I would pick metamask , easy to use and you need to confirm all transactions via your browser add on... JSON is ok too, but metamask is more secure way

I have been using MyEtherWallet for more than a year or so and I have been logging in with private key. But, I haven't had any issues. In my opinion, the safest option to log in with is either using keystone file or metamask.

which is the safest way to store the coins? All ways are his in their own way.  I prefer the security key method and the metamask method just gives you over protection. So it's all good. Myether wallet is one of the safest wallet.

Among those three i think connecting metamask is the safest because it add security layer for your wallet, Myetherwallet itself is safe though, most of the problem with hacks is the fault of people themselves because they are careless and not double check the url again before using their private key and access the wallet, if you are careful then you should be fine.

What is the safest way to log MEW among of these?
    1.Keystone File
    2.Private Key
    3.Connecting Metamask.

Connecting Metamask is like a second layer for MEW, preventing yourself from entering wrong site. Keystore is said to be safer than private key, but it still depends. If your keystore file is stolen, one would still need a password before decrypting your public key. If your private key revealed to other, they can use it however they like. It would be better to use keystore for daily use and private key when keystore files went missing.

I would recommend that you use Keystone File, since this way of entering your wallet is the most secure and the probability of hacking your wallet with this method of entry is minimal.

I know that it is safer to connect via Metamask, but I still use private key via bookmarks. I want to level up in my security level and due to this reason I am going to buy Ledger.

I always enter My Ether Wallet using Keystone File. And never keep the data to enter the wallet on the computer, then the security is guaranteed

Metamask is very safe I think, of course it's safer than Private Key, that's the worst option according to possibilities of hackers, it's so easy to steal it from you.

    1.Keystone File
    2.Private Key
    3.Connecting Metamask.

Using Keystore, not recommended because if you get phished, your keystore can uploaded to the hackers place.
using private key, the worst method. Again, you can be phished and submit the private key to them.
using metamask is the safest option here.

Using Keystore file and Private key are not recommended. The best way is use Ledger wallet which will protect you from phishing, malware, and more

I use private key and i have never been hacked. My suggestion to you that that ypu remove some characters that you feel you n easily remember from your private key, save it somewhere you can easily copy it from and add the characters whenever you want to use it.

I have and Myetherwallet , Metamask . They are good for storing ether and tokens. Security at a good level and convenient to use. The keys should be stored on a USB flash drive and written on paper. Also everyone advises cold wallets. The choice is yours, they do not save on security.

Myetherwallet is an open source web wallet. The application is convenient and simple. The only thing to note is that the computer browser you are using is safe, avoid being phished, get your key, and be stolen.

I think if you are not using or dont have metamask, endeavour to triple check your URL link and see it is the correct one before inputting your private key so that you don't get phished by hackers or scammers. Stay safe.
