Dropping? Not really the prices is actually bouncing fron $8,000 to $10,000. Right now this is what we call accumulation stage. Once this stage is done expect another bull run then another correction then it will accumulate again then another bull run and another correction. The crypto market has been doint this for the past ten years. If you ate trading or invested in crypto  then you need to study the price history so that you wont be nervous and sell for a loss.

I think that bitcoin does not just fall so much, but because most likely those who developed bitcoin and manage finances decided to play a cruel joke or good to buy so far lower in cost.

Concluding from the bump that bitcoin encountered last year, these fluctuations seems like a normal thing to a crypto this big. As no one actually completely controls bitcoin it is hard to tell what exactly causes the price to drop or rise until there's a huge whale or officials involved in affecting bitcoin. Right now it is going smoothly with normal dip and pump like any other cryptocurrency as it is their nature.
The drop is completely normal and all have to do is HODL.

I think the real reason was people who earned bitcoin and investor wanted to sell their holdings for an important matters.Maybe they want it to sustained their daily needs or to conduct a business for their own wealth.

For unknown reasons, this can not be understood depends on our activity of buying or selling resale. Right now there are a lot of those who hold this turn.

I think in the months of 1-6 months where the market is not fluctuating too large. We should not invest in any altcoins at the present time. You will not be profitable and will likely suffer capital losses. The best investment period is from June onwards. The market will be very fun because of the volatility of the price.

Most probably people are not buying and demand are not high as much as it was back in december.

I think even crazier than the falling of bitcoin is the fall in ether. As long as people and companies are afraid of ICOs due to US government regulation, we will have to wait until the next bull run. Without a doubt we need clarification and standardization. Right now fear is holding everything back. It feels like 2014 again when I remember all this regulation talk causing a drop from around $750 to $400. That was a massive drop very much like the one that started in December. I think once everyone knows the deal things will get back to normal and we will see continued gains.

This is the law of the market. No one can say when the market will grow again. No one! But I can say for sure that after a long correction, there will be good growth. This opinion is not only mine, but also people whose opinions I listen to. He who knows how to wait, will achieve a lot.

Bitcoin has been dropping for some time now, but hopefully the price will increase again in a short while. The price is dropping because there's still a lot of FUD being spread by the media and financial institutions. Also the fact that Twitter, Facebook and Google are planning to ban crypto related ads, the IRS taxing transactions and so on, all this is why the price of bitcoin is dropping. But the price will go up again and then bitcoin will reach another ath this year.

It's impossible to say with certainty. Maybe people are spooked by the recent 'death cross' (the crossing of the moving averages), maybe people are withdrawing to pay taxes, maybe the whales just expect it to go lower so they sell now with the intention of buying back in when it drops

It is actually not dropping, it has crashed to $6K from the ath in a very short time, and it has been $6000-8000 since that crash. We are in a bear market right now, drop is normal

Well actually bull run happened if i'm not mistaken around sep or at least early oct and the peaked is at december of the last year, for me it seems the prices are still normal because the pump happened last year is way too much for the community to handle yet, in short the hype was just too much and the result is an expensive prices. So right now buying is a good option because if a bull run like that happened last year starts you might regret it.

The reason of the price drop of the market is more likely because of facebook, google and twitter on banning cryptocurrency related advertisements. People are panicking because of this that results of sell out,  but there is nothing really to worry about because it is a good time to invest while the price is low. Some people that didnt beleive that bitcoin will reocever will regret that they didnt invest on this price range.

We really don't know the main reason but if you look at the previous years results, that is normal before the bullish stage will come in at around latter part of the year. That is normal in trading so you don't need to get panic and withdraw it even if you are still in loss. Just be patient until the prices will rise up again.

It is true that until now the bitcoin price is still decreasing and can not go back like the price at peak time, this must be because of the bad news about bitcoin or it could be the seasonal price drop that happens every year because of bubbles.

It is lenten season for the catholic religion so probably those who are selling their btc probably will be use for traveling somewhere where religious activity happens. Aside from.that here in the Philippines is summer time so maybe some of the Filipino investors are selling their btc for the traveling expenses. Not just the prices of Bitcoin, but that of Bitcoin Cash and the other alts are also down. I suspect that the Mt Gox trustee is still dumping the coins from the stash. The last time I heard, some 200K coins were remaining to be dumped.

Nobody knows the real reason, but that's the nature of the crypto market. There are big drops and there are big jumps. No one can predict them with precision.  :)

As far as i know prices are fluctuating like dropping and bouncing back within $8000-$10000 over this period what we call correction period.This trend will continue for some time and after that comes the bull run which will boost the prices but don't loose patience stay calm and just hodl for the long term. You can see the price graphs for last five years and you will understand the thing.The prices have gone down due to google banning crypto advertisements and some of the panic selling over this period but it will rise after some time.

There are many reasons that can explain the decrease.

One of them is that the rise was so huge in last december that now people have chosen, at least for a while, to be more careful.
Another reason is that a large part of the community is still waiting for the price to be lower before buying. Just because buying low ensure potentially higher profits!

I think the reason for the continuing decline is that some countries forbid bitcoin and some well-known social media sites are also planning to ban crypto ads and more recently google. with that it would have a very bad impact on the market and cause a lot of panic.

I think the parabolic growth that occured end of last year was simply too exponential. Hence, it's a very normal (and healthy) situation that BTC prices correct themselves.
Also, BTC/crypto is a very new asset. So it enjoys a lot of scrutiny from regulators and media which, in combination with a very unexperienced customer base, creates lots of volatility in BTC prices. In time, this will get much more stable, similar to older traditional asset classes.

right. bitcoin is decreasing. The reason is that many investors sold out much bitcoin but no buyers. More supply than demand causes bitcoin prices to fall. Currently many countries are banned bitcoin operations, large corporations such as twiter, facebook, google ... stop advertising bitcoin has made the bitcoin market heavily affected bitcoin prices drastically reduced.

Because bitcoin price jumped too quickly in 2017 so now it is still in the correction track to get the right path.

But normally bitcoin price will be in the downtrend for the first quarter of every year so still we are in that phase so it is ko wonders that bitcoin price is falling and it is not the first time this is happening.

8000$? You must be joking. It already is 7500$ and as soon as I will have posted this it will probably already be 7200$. Expect it to land near 6000$ soon, and perhaps lower than that.
As for why, the answer is clear: because more people are selling than the people who are buying.

I think negative news contributes to the dropping of bitcoin price but Patient is what is needed in times like, you should not panic sell because it will lead to loses of fund.

What would make Bitcoin go up again?

it may be that today many investors are selling their Bitcoin, because of panic to hear the negative news that is currently kept emerging. maybe this is what causes the price of Bitcoin down steadily. more and more people are selling Bitcoin, the more it goes down the price because the buyer's interest is also less.

Since the price dropped to $6.8k this February it just increase upto $12.3k something and nothing changes its either it goes up or down. It stayed that way within the scale of $7k-$12k back and forth slowly keeps dropping. As I observed when it reach almost $12k the price goes down immediately. Thats the flow when it started to go down I hope it would not lower than $7k. This could be good news to all in starting investment while on the other hand it is very alarming might cause to panic selling. There must be some reason why bitcoin still dropping instead recovering. My trust on bitcoin remains as it is I know it will soon increase to its value.

I think there are those who sell bitcoins simultaneously or some sell them in big scale, so they affect the bitcoin price that is decreasing. But for me it is a common thing, because as we know the price of bitcoin always fluctuate, it is very difficult to predict the price.

You are forgetting the people who have paid bitcoins 10$, 100$, 500$ or 1000$, all of them are gaining selling even at this prices and they are afraid if the price drops more they've lost the occasion to profit. Of course, most of the people who are selling are also planning to buy back lower.

The price of Bitcoin is not dropping but stable between 8k dollar and 7k dollar. Sometimes the price falls at 7k dollar ad sometimes achieve any value between 7k and 8k dollar value. The market will soon shift into a green market as a huge traffic is observed on the market and this is because people want to get benefit of this low market where coins are achievable with low price.

I think there are two big reasons for the dropping value of bitcoin, one is whales who manipulate the market and the other is negative statement of some people. Bitcoin is testing the patience of crypto traders by going down continuously. Previously everyone was waiting for BTC to cross 10$ then 9K  and now from last few days it is unable to cross 8K. Reason is only investment decline as I can't see any other reason. 

Bitcoin drop because of many things like whale manipulation, panic selling, and fud news that affect the price of bitcoin. But ut doesn't mean bitcoin will not rising we need to be patience about the price because we will get there.

In my careful reading of these forums I have learned about this situation, perhaps because of the investors and miners who hold lots of bitcoin is the reason why the price of bitcoin decreases because they sell it high bitcoin price and it's great and great.

The answer is very simple, cryptocurrency prices today are decreasing because of the people who are selling their coins in the market, if most of the people will just keep on holding their coins then there is no doubt that the price will increase even more in the future.

The price of Bitcoin is not dropping anymore because eh market is not so low and this market has a lot of support of people as it is responsive. The market value few days ago was very low at 7k dollar but the market after this drop followed an increase which is a constant increase.

Bitcoin dropped few weeks ago and rose again after some time. There was even a rise in the values of Bitcoin again. This is a good sign and this good sign leads people to invest more in Bitcoin. More investment, rising price. Besides, the current year has been considered as the year when Bitcoin cross $30000 and this level is great enough for the current holders of Bitcoin.

I can not answer with certainty what the cause of the price decline until now. I can only guess. bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are fluctuations. I think the most important factor is media news. Bitcoin has been down for some time now, but hopefully the price will increase again in the future. I think bitcoin prices are declining because there are still many FUD spread by media and financial institutions or government rules that many countries disagree with cryptocurrency. Also the fact that Twitter, Facebook and Google plan to ban crypto related ads, transactions and so on, I think this is one of the reasons why bitcoin prices are falling. But I'm sure prices will rise again and more and more people are going to use blockchain technology. thus surely there will be many people who understand the benefits of bitcoin. so let that time will prove it all to people who do not like cryptocurrency.

Yeah it is dropping more and more. For one aspect it is good for new investors because they can buy bitcoin on low price. Imagine of the price didn’t collapsed from $20000 and the growth was continue then today the price would be more than $30000. Then nobody would be able to buy bitcoin. Therefore I think that it is a chance for new investors to invest in bitcoin today.

  In my point of view, in the near time the price of bitcoin will jump to very high because always it regain its price after sometime and the same will happen again. There is no specific reason for the price of bitcoin I think but according to my point of view its price will increase due to its increasing demand and importance, So it will be better for us that not to lose hope and be patient for some time.

We shouldn't be discourage eventhough this happened lately that price dropped worst than we ever expected. I am also sure that the price of bitcoin will increase to a high value in some time from now. Obviously, many are selling but the point is the main reason why they are selling their shares? I would say many users are panic selling because they have heard or some negative news all about crypto currencies which most users panic as they want to cut off their great amount of loss. Also, there are still many believe bitcoin and other crypto currencies will increase in a couple of weeks which may lead a greatest regret that they sell their shares which can be great amount of profit in times of increasing.

These days the market price of Bitcoin is around 6.5k dollar and few days ago the value recorded was the lowest value in this year. The price few days ago dropped at 6k dollar and then increased at 6.2k dollar and right after that increase the value further increased at 6.4k dollar which was the value recorded yesterday. The value today is 6.5k dollar and this comes after some constant increase trend of Bitcoin.

We can not say about the market and the constant drop of the Bitcoin because the market is totally unpredictable and may be the value jumps in few days or may be tomorrow start its increase trend.

The price has dropped at 6.4k dollar and this is due to the low buying rate of the Bitcoin which resulted in the low rate of Bitcoin. We may see the future improvement very soon as we have seen many recoveries in the past which may follow this time by the Bitcoin.

The decline may last till next year. Since so many BTC believers have this deep-rooted belief that the BTC price will spike towards the end of this year, the BTC winter is coming and will teach the zealots a hard lesson.

The market value of the Bitcoin is not dropping these days but we are observing a little increase. The value dropped few days ago to 6k dollar and then improved a little to 6.2k dollar and right after that 6.5k dollar and now the value has reached to 6.7k dollar after a little decrease. The current market value is 6.7k dollar and is affordable for people to buy easily as it is still a low value.

In my opinion the price is bitcoin is decreasing because of low investment. When the demand for bitcoin become down, the price will automatically decrease. I think that this fall is for the time being and the growth will be soon in the near future. Don’t be panic about the downing price of bitcoin and try to buy more and more in this day to earn high profits in the future.

The continuous downtrend of bitcoin price has many reasons to point out. In my own opinion, other investors are withdrawing their investments and selling of their coins panicly due to prolonged bear market situation is the main cause of this downtrend. And we cannot blame them if they won't stay in this industry longer.

I think we can do that cause if you are actually has been running for twenty years so they can do a new way to invest it in your life. I support cryptocurrency even its stabilized and it is the future of cryptocurrency and it is the only way to keep track and technology. Cause I don't have a lot of cryptocurrency

maybe bitcoin prices keep going down because of bad news spread and the mtgox is a threat because having hundreds of thousands of bitcoin pieces ready to destroy the bitcoin price is very horrible, some media also make bad news that could affect the traders.

Nope i don't think it's affecting the movement of btc right now since the btcs will be distributed to mtgox recipients next year. And it's not an assurance that there will be a bulk sell out since a lot would probably prefer to keep their coins instead

The market of futures is having an effect on the price of bitcoin that is undeniable but the dump by mtgox had an even bigger effect in my opinion and the fact we know they have many more coins to sell is affecting the market since anyone with some common sense knows that a bigger supply of coins in the market will make the price to go down so everyone is waiting for the moment the dump of coins resumes so they can get cheap coins, so the price will only recover once the dumps are over.
