I have $170 Ethereum as now rates. How can I grow/increase my dollar?
Someone recommend for invest in ICO progream. But I dont know very well about ICO.
Can you tell me What is ICO? And should I invest this?

If you want to grow you can try by day trading ethereum or buying other altcoins and sell them for more eth than you originally bought them for.
I wouldn't try out ico's yet (initial coin offerings), especially if you only have 170 and are new to the field.

Most ICO’s now are not secure and some are scam, So better to invest your 170$ in most secure coin. But your already holding a good coin which is Ethereum so better hold it because for now its price is down but it will surely upswing its price maybe by the end of the year.

Take my advice as a guide to verifying any ICO:
1. On preico, the team must have a contract for automatic transfer of funds with prescribed conditions for early investors - not handles like many do, namely those prescribed in a smart contract - otherwise the collected funds can simply enrich the funders or conditions will change during the play - cases of lots.
2. The contract for preICO should be part of a large ICO contract - not different coins - it is not safe in terms of vulnerabilities and withdrawals.
3. The contract for preICO and then the ICO should be registered lower and upper barrier - if this is not the team does not know what it wants - just a scam.
4. The contract for ICO should be escrow of the funds received as a result of placement - it can be a frieze or multisec with a voting condition. This will give you a guarantee against the expenditure of funds earlier than the team completed the previous stage.
5. In the contract, an unconditional refund should be prescribed in the event that the lower limit of the collected pool is not reached. It is in the contract and not in the white book, if it is not - scum.
6. All contracts must be posted on GithHub, this will enable third-party developers to check the contract for the vulnerability if the team has not taken care and before the ICO has not posted a bounty on the vulnerability.
7. The contract must specify the conditions for the team and for the bounty.
8. The contract must specify the conditions for not traded tokens - with clearly defined deadlines.

ICOs can make you profit and could also lose your investment. It takes a lot of courage and research if you want to invest in ICO. You should know the people behind it and what it can offer to the public but still there's no assurance that it will succeed.

With ethereum you have 3 choise: Hodl, trade, invest ico. Not like NEO you can't hodl and earn GAS and wait for price raising. In this case, I think you should hold or looking some good altcoin to buy and hold. ICO is risk in this time if you don't research carefully

With the amount you are invested into Ethereum you are better off just holding it rather than trying to do anything with it, as you are likely going to lose it. Trading isn't for everyone and most of the people end up losing their investment or getting their investment stuck in bad trades trying to trade their coins.

If you are good at trading, trade your coins to increase the usd value of your holdings but if you can't do that, the best thing you can do is just hodling ethereum you have, it will rise, it is very low now.

170 dollars is not a big amount for investing, but this does not mean that it should be spent unconsciously. Read the forum, study ICO campaigns, paying attention to the signatures of forum participants. In general, gain experience and only after you spend your ETH as your intuition tells you.

I would propose to divide into 3 parts, one remain for long hold, 2-nd invest into prospective ICO's, the 3rd part to use for daily trading.

if you want to invest your eth on some ICO, be sure to research the ICO first if you don't want to get scammed.
ICO is a long term investment, you need to hold your ICO tokens. Don't expect the token will increased fast because
after ICO usually the price will dropped.

I think that ICO is a very risky investment. For a beginner it will be very difficult to choose a good project. Investment in ICO provide an income for a long time. At the beginning, tokens can drop in price and stay at the bottom for a very long time. It seems to me that it will be faster and easier for you to try your hand at trading.

I don't recommend to invest such a little amount in ICO, you have less than 0.5 if i'm not wrong. The best thing to do is keep it and wait for it to rise again. Honestly, the best advice would be to just buy more.
If it is hard to come up with the cash to buy more, you can take a small percentage from your paycheck and use that to buy more.
Then just do without eating out, or some other unnecessary thing for two weeks or so.

It might sound like I'm patronizing, but from a pure trading perspective, you would need way more than around .6 eth to make any significant returns.

Also, even though ICOs can be profitable, you have to VERY careful with what you choose.
On top of that, the market is really slow now so most icos turn out to not be a profit at all.

So let me give you some great advice, listen closely:

Use the .6 eth you have to buy a brand new coin.  One that just finished their ico and listed on an exchange.
Almost all of these the price crashes below ico price.
For example, TBAR is a new one that is around 25 cents each.  The ico price was one dollar.
There are TONS of icos that turned out like this.
The place to look for would be the ANN section in the altcoin discussion board.
Look for ICO ANN threads that have over 100+ replies and find one that you feel has a good future even if the price is low now.

I think that the best you can do is stay still and hold. In couple of months you will multiply your holdings and will invest somewhere else.

Just hold on your ETH wait for the price to go high again. Don't invest on any ICO if you have no idea on that because the risk is very high and you $170 might be gone easily. ETH is good to hold btw, thats another option aside from investing on any ICO.

There’s different ways. I must say risk may involve in the process. You can buy some other coins, like Bitcoin or Ripple by selling some. Investing in some ICO may be helpful. But you must have pretty good research on those, specially their aims and whitepaper. Good luck mate.

There are many coins you can buy with $150 , I will not advice you to trade eth for BTC but for other altcoin because it is easier for a coin to move from $1 to $4 within few days,  than for bitcoin to move from $10k to $20k,  it's not about the price but the percentage increase.  Look for altcoin with great potential and invest the $150 there,  one of this coin is utrust, still studying the platform though.

ICO investments are the riskiest and a lot of them are fake and gonna die this year.

The best thing you can do with your ETH is to find the strong projects listed on exchanges and at a super dip, just #BTFD and relax till you get the returns you expect.

Do not listen them! Just hold your Ethereum - this is very good coin, even more useful than bitcoin. Now price of ETH is not so high - how it can be. Truly say, I even already selled my token's for ETH, because believe in grow's.

I would suggest invest in a high potential upcoming ICO such as NEX or NEKO, you can also invest in some highly undervalued coins such as Zcash, NEO and Monero which are almost certain to gain faster than Ethereum.

Okay so you have $150 worth of Ethereum. If you going to trade it either you will win some or lose some profit, Don't do margin trade it's not recommended! Unless you have so much money to trade. Try some small cap coins and take atleast 10-20% profit by scalping it.

Selling Ethereum and buying another coin now sounds more like a wrong advice for someone who simply may not even know how to trade.  Exactly, this how should be done to OP, ethereum, great choice now is HODling, some great and trusted ICO has a minimum of 1ethereum equivalent to let's say 350 to 500 dollars no a days, the best option for that is trading to other altcoins which has also a potential, but you need to add some value in order for you to earn .25 or .5 to your profit. Half or a one fourth.

You could use the volatility of the market on your favor to buy on lower price and sell it when higher. By that, you need to study such technical analysis and fundamentals also, so you could avoid major loss. I suggest that you trade rather than just hodl. HODL is boring  ;D

With such amount of money I'd buy 3 coins ($50 each), but coins should have good potential for x100 so try to find one among coins with small capitalisation.

Well, even though a lot of ICOs are scams, some of us are still investing and it is only left for each individual to know where to invest, what to invest and what not to invest.

If you are investing in ICO, just watch out for the team, the product and the possibility of the product generating huge demand in the future and that is what you should be investing. Depends when you bought at what price, but overall, i think you should just be hodling it more. Considering that ETH just rose quite significanctly, if you hold more you'll profit soon enough.

There are two things you can do :) hold your coins and wait to reach its highest value in the market before 2018 ends. Lastly, you can trade/ buy and sell you coins but you must know how the market works to maximize your profit in trading. Well, for me holding coins would be more effective to me since I have invested 1 BTC way back 2015 which is very cheap that time and I hold my BTC until December 2017 last year. In holding coins you have to be patient and don't panic if you see the market is falling down :D

What you do not know is what can get you screwed. Whoever told you about ICO actually told you something that can really help you but you can also lose everything if you do not know how to stay safe investing in ICOs.

I am currently looking to increase my stack of EOS, the simplest and actually easiest way is to just trade the news. I have actually been  getting consistent green this way by just riding the pumps. Such as today Icon has been doing well, so I have increased my EOS by about 7% today riding that. Price seems to be going up slower now so the stop loss is added and tomorrow morning I will buy back into my EOS.

For Ether though, it has been regaining its dominance quite fast so if I were you I would just sit on my Ether for a week or two before I trade some altcoin to increase my position in Ether.  ONLY trade into another coin when you are very confident it will grow faster than the coin you want.

That said. If you really want to trade, practice for a few months with no more than 20 dollars or whatever amount you REALLY don't care about losing and treat it like it is 100% of your portfolio. Don't ever go into a trade when you are feeling greedy, somehow the charts always know and they punish you for it. And really don't ever trade with a large amount of your money if you have not proven to yourself that you can trade green with some level of consistency.
 In the end of the day if you have 0.6 Eth or whatever, that is still a lot. Always consider what it could be worth 2 years from now and don't throw it away recklessly. I mean imagine having 0.6 BTC lying around now, or at the end of the year? It is enough money to care about for sure!


On the other front you could do ICO's, but my recent experiences are ICOs only do well in bull runs, trading the news has given me much more gains and my wins/losses are within MY control. I have no risk  of someone running away with my money or any of that.
