What's the bitcoin address to send payments to? Also, what the method of communicating my receiving address back to you?

I went to the linked site in the OP and was greeted with "provide your name and address" and some other weird stuff. When I clicked on "Pay with Bitcoin", I just got a bunch of red tex that asked me to complete sections above. Is this the only way to order R15 shares? Why do you care where I live?

You can provide a fake name and address if you want.

It's a required field so it needs something there, but you can put anything you want.  ;D

Also: you have 1 hour to complete BTC payment or the wallet address *will* be recycled. However, if you have some BTC, you can send a small placeholder payment for your order in order to hold that wallet address open for you.

After you enter fake data into the billing / shipping area there should be a small text box saying order notes here you put your payout address or anything you need to communicate to us, if you forget to you will get an email asking for any missing info.

BTC address is unique per order after you get to the last page of checkout it will be displayed along with the amount of BTC needed.

Sorry, there's no reservations allowed for this GB round. We also expect a number of R13 GB share owners to move their refund or R13 order to this round, and they will be given priority for R15 shares.

The closest thing to a reservation for R15 and R15B is to buy 4 shares and send a tiny BTC payment to hold that wallet address and order from expiring after 1 hour.

BTW, for those asking, this order was made this weekend, and we are Order #1068xx.

Uhm, I guess I need help. I sent $220 worth from Coinbase, sent a PM to thomas_s. My Bitcoin wallet is doing reindexing. It's been more than one hour (not by much) since I sent that payment. By the time I am able to send from my wallet that I have access to (as in for signing messages) it will be significantly more than one hour. Coinbase address that was used to send the payment is clearly not the same one as I will want to use for this GB. You don't have to pay from the address you want to receive to.  They allow you to supply a different address.

I surely hope so :) Once I see my address in the Google Docs, I will be all warm and fuzzy.

What was posted by madpoet is true it doesn't matter what address you send from, we don't publicly show any addresses so if you can link an order with an address and or some other data then whatever payout address you give will be used.
No signing is necessary if it was being made to one address where everyone can see on the blockchain then yes you would need to sign or control the sending address.

Well I fell asleep no idea why I was off today, DZ woke me up with a phone call so might as well enter the new orders into the spreadsheet. BTW if you were looking and paid a while ago and your order was on hold something happened with the site which should be fixed now if you paid and the order was on hold it should now be processing, if you are transferring your refund that will be changed later when I enter these into the spreadsheet.

That's not a google doc, thats a spreadsheet that was converted to a jpg and uploaded. The spreadsheet changes frequently so I don't upload them.

Theres only 1 address missing from 9-12 and its one of the management people so, yea good job customers for getting it all submitted before us.

If you change address details on the site, for instance to turn real data into fake data, then your previous details still remain unchanged on any existing orders. I think this means that if "the bad guys" ever get hold of the site data, then they'll get all your info, old and new.

I'm temporarily taking R15 down, based on the site's wallet it seems its highly possible its full and I don't have time to confirm.

If it is we will see about getting another jupiter.

We have 2 on order right now, and if thomas is correct and they are both full, I will make another order for another 2 this morning. [BTW I am fronting all the BTC for these orders, untill the BTC is collected by the group. Saves time, and gets us in the Q faster]

I have a question. Do you mine only BTC? Couse I think you for sure tried to mine different coins before and know what is most profitable for now.
In another topic on this forum I found information that SHA-256 100GH/s == Scrypt 100MH/s (true?). So based on this information and for example this comparasion website: http://dustcoin.com/
we see that mining LTC and then exchange them to BTC would be much more profitable. I don't now how the architecture of machines you have affect Scrypt mining due to SHA mining. I am just very curious about it.

I personally do not mine anything other than BTC. If the GBs were to consider mining other coins, and the machines are capable, then I have no problem.

This is only true if you have equal SHA and SCRYPT hardware though.
If you have 2 Jupiters at 550 GH each thats 1100 GH, if you only have 50 MH of Scrypt capable hardware then its not equal.
Also keep in mind, SHA can not mine Scrypt so you cant use these machines to mine LTC coins at their SHA rates.

There are SHA alt coins but most times its a pain to mine them and convert to BTC since timing is everything and who wants to watch the markets to sell at the peak.

BTC/merged mining definitely the way to go with an operation of this nature

What's the estimated time for additional 2 jupiters to start hashing? If I order additional two share to the ones I ordered last weekend, how will they be managed compared to the ones already in the queue?

We attempted to add 2 to our original order but they were sold out before we could get them, R15 only consists of 2 Jupiters.

Realistically, what are our chances of breaking even?

The most realistic mining calc I can find is the expert-mode one at http://www.coinish.com/calc/ (http://www.coinish.com/calc/) which says that if we were to start hashing today, we'd likely break even in 50 days or so, taking difficulty adjustments of around ~2.8% per day into account.

Unfortunately we're not going to start hashing today, and that's where the problems arise. Adding a delay of 0.3 months into the calc, it puts the break-even at 100 days. Any later than that and it's not going to happen, unless the difficulty increases slow down, which is unlikely.

0.3 months is ~9 days. I'm not sure what the shipping status is of the Jupiters or how long they'll take to get from Sweden to the hosting facility, but I suspect it will be longer. Also, using a pool other than BTC Guild which takes 3% (and has too much hashing power for my taste) might help a little bit, but not much.

I'm bullish on BTC though, so I suspect (hope) we'll make back our dollar investment, just not our BTC one.

Mining is a hobby that _costs_ money at the moment. Hopefully most people on this sub will have done enough research to determine that for themselves.

Please remember that generally the equipment is resold as well, which does recover some money.

This is still a bit of a crystal ball prediction.  It looks like the skyrocketing difficulty increases have slowed down a bit, but it's unknown if that'll continue or not.  Also, it wasn't that long ago people were saying BTC vs USD was crashing, then it jumped up $100 in a matter of days.  Who woulda guessed?

If nothing else, I *think* this is, or at least was when we placed our orders, the best price/GH ratio, so if we don't get recoup our costs here, we wouldn't have anywhere.  Not that that's any consolation..

I completely agree. :-) And mining is fun, so I'm happy to do it as a hobby for a small loss.

Although if we were to sell the miner for 50% of the cost when done with it, it makes the (yes, likely very innacurate) predictions more palatable. Break-even could be achieved in under 90 days if we started mining 1 month from now. Assuming same values as before otherwise. But you're right, nobody knows what the difficulty is actually going to do.

According to kncminer, they are supposed to start shipping today. I don't know how far along the queue we are, but hopefully it will ship within the next few days.

I'd like to know how long it took for the last Jupiter to go from shipping to delivery.

From a different groupbuy I was involved in, the last batch was about five days from being marked "shipped" to actually showing up on the host's doorstep. Now, how long it will take to get through the order queue and when this GB's order will be marked as shipped I can't say, but that's how the timing worked out last time around.

Ok so we are looking forward for next update. I hope next week hashing will start.

I think weredo911 meant that positive ROI in BTC will not be achieved. As in '1 BTC invested ->  1+ BTC returned'. Rate of BTC/USD has nothing to do with it, except that hosting (fixed, paid in USD) will be affordable for a bit longer.

I'm gonna ask for a refund if that's even possible considering the lack of activity in this thread lately. There's no way I can ROI with Bitcoin at these prices. The $330 Bitcoin I paid with is no longer a $330 Bitcoin, so unless KnC can offer some crazy enhanced mining hashrates (those extra 100mhashes aren't gonna cut it), I'm gonna drop out.

I don't understand?  The price is listed in USD, not BTC.  It's looking good that you'll get your USD back in ROI.

The investment I made was 1BTC, not 330USD.

But what's really getting to me is the lack of information coming from the group buy creators. No updates, no news. They said they were switching to some "new website" soon, but nothing's changed on dzminercoop.com The last news posted was on the 17th, and there's nothing about R15x delivery dates. I dropped out of the R13x buy last time because they kept on pushing the delivery date to "next Friday" because "The amount of broken boards in the Bullet Run that are being replaced is equivalent to R13's hashrate". That kind of quality inspection by the manufacturers is unacceptable. I don't see R13x in the list of spreadsheets so I'm assuming they still haven't started.

The investment is listed as USD.  You could also say you invested 1/4 oz of gold.  Or 100 packs of cigarettes.  Doesn't matter, it's still listed as USD.  If you do get a refund, don't expect 1BTC, expect the USD equivalent.  If you're going that route, at least wait until BTC/USD dips back down. :)

Actually DZ always refunds in BTC... the exact same amount you paid minus the 1.5% fee you agreed to.  So relax.  The funds are held in a wallet.  Honestly these guys have been incredibly communicative in the 18+ GBs they have running, I don't know what else you want from them.  If you want the refund, ask for the refund.  As a member of the R9-R12 GBs we just ROId so... there's that ;)

No they aren't, your BTC goes into a wallet and is stored until shipped.  They don't gain or lose any money.

Isn't the equipment paid for even if not shipped?  Who's going to cover the refund?  Will it affect the order?

If they have another group "buy" listed in USD, what's the stop said person who got refund from turning around and getting more shares in the other one?

I trust DZ and Bobsag, and I also know Bogsag outside this forum and I trust him.

You certainly can do that... you pay them 1.5% fee when you ask for a refund.  The way it has worked (and I assume still works) is that bob buys the equipment and the GB pays him back.  But up until it ships that money is waiting.  And if you did pull out of one and buy into another I suspect you would be waiting longer for the hashing, so it might not be worth it.

You can trust the GB "managers" a 100%. They are reliable and trustworthy.

There's also a lovely artificial wave in Spain next door I'd love to visit called the Wave Garden. :)

As for the lack of communication: if I don't post to a thread for a few days, please keep in mind that I only post if I have something new to add. If one of the other co-op leaders have covered it, I'm not going to stop by to say: "ditto."

Another important note: this order was paid for by CC by bobsag3. Technically: there is no BTC to refund because it was converted to fiat and sent to the mfg. We also usually don't have a giant pile of BTC sitting around just for refunds once orders are paid. This is a lean co-op that lets us offer rock bottom pricing.

Believe me: Thomas and I haven't exactly gotten rich off of offering these lowest cost GB shares on the forum. Just between the two of us, let alone other co-op leaders and contributors, we've likely poured 6 figures worth of labor into this co-op so far, using our usual hourly rates.

I will add that we're actively trying to improve the liquidity of future DZ MC ASIC miner rig purchases with our new site, but again: Rome wasn't built in a day.

One more note about these types of investments/purchases: a person *really* shouldn't be investing in ASIC miners and Bitcoin in general if they can't handle volatility and occasional bad news. I'm not your lawyer or investment adviser, but please don't invest any money in GBs or BTC that you cannot afford to lose.

This is standard in the world of high risk/high reward investments such as these.

If you absolutely must seek a refund (esp. if you're a big purchase) we'd really prefer that you work w/ us on a refund or share transfer to someone else, as we meant what we said about the chaos that can be caused by refunds on already paid hardware where we don't have the orig. funds.

If it becomes too much of a PITA to offer DZ MC GBs because people want to use us as a short term "bank" to hold their BTC, I will absolutely shut down ALL future DZ MC GBs. I absolutely don't need the tiny bit of BTC and massive amount of stress that these GBs can cause, and GBs def. don't pay my bills.

I will add that, with our new site, we're working hard to improve the liquidity of future DZ MC ASIC related purchases or contracts, but that: Rome wasn't built in a day.

We're trying to keep up with demand, we have a lot of Rounds sold and try to give people a couple of GB options that are world class values. I've been dealing with an influx of new interest, new investors, and new miners, all with many questions about this brave new world. Heck, I even talked a local brewery owner into accepting BTC since CoinBase transactions are free for your first $1M in sales (vs. 3.7% for Square).

Since we posted about redesigning the site which is nearly done we've also:

- Met with the site designer for final payment and site improvements on the back end to automate some processes
- Finalized business structure among founders in 3 time zones (which complicates communication/coordination)
- Had our CFO meet with a number of law firms who handle International Business and decided on a firm
- Secured legal counsel
- Secured paperwork and sites for an umbrella corp. and a couple sub-companies
- Graphic Designer searches complete
- Ongoing refunds and share transfers from late R13x
- Negotiations with SolarWindMiningCompany leading to my suggestion that he simply relaunch as a stripped down GB instead of a facility/re-investment project
- Additional startup biz planning w/ company founders
- Numerous investor meetings

For weeks now, I've been working on the co-op and this biz more hours than my job at the Research Lab.

These GBs don't just sprout out of thin air. There's a lot of discussion and planning that goes on behind the scenes. A lot of my time is now spent behind the scenes, researching candidates for future GBs (you may see me on the CH forum here and there, vetting new companies), and meeting with potential partners, manufacturers, resellers, and investors.

Among the 5 co-op leaders, we divide the work here to hopefully keep a modicum of sanity. We've succeeded in building the biggest and most diverse Miners Co-op on the forum in this manner, so I think we're doing something right.

It's been a busy, stressful time and I apologize immensely if I missed your PM. Please shoot me a 2nd PM or a copy if it was really important and couldn't be answered by another co-op leader or member. I'm trying my best, but I'm only human and I only have so many hours in a day (and children to help raise too).

I won't go through everything we have planned but are new pro arm includes new offerings that benefit the Group Buyers and other investors in this new cryptoeconomy. I have talked a little bit about them in 1 or 2 GB threads previously.

I'm excited to be here in this moment in history, where BTC hasn't even reached 1% market potential, and there's a whole new world out there for us to explore together, for those willing to take the risks.

  not to argue about what you invested but in the usd taxes would be based on conversion to usd.  so your investment would be 330 usd.    and if it earns back .5btc at 852 usd a btc your income would be 426 usd for a net profit of 96 usd.   btc prices  are a point of confusion for many.

 If you want to transfer your shares to me   I would pay the transfer share fee to the coop and give you 120  usd a share   so you would have a usd profit of 10 bucks a share.  or if you want you can hold on to the shares.  Need I remind you what Avalon did to the second batch buyers.

If you want to think in BTC only and not USD it is okay.  I deal with all of this in terms of USD  because I report my income that way.

Since I am new at this, couple of questions:

1) So are they live at this point, and if so how do we see the current hash rate and yield?  Is there a live stats page someplace?

2) Did these end up being 650GH/s units?  Before they shipped someone said that KNC had upgraded them.
If so the final rate should be ~13GH/s per share, correct?

1) Yep for the most part they seem to be going
 - The site is updated automatically from api calls thanks mootinator, the pool payout address is also listed so you can see the total there as well

2) I saw the first one come online it was at 674gh/s when I looked

3) Payouts aren't automatic but they will happen on the 15th and 1st of each month, time of day is dependent on when it can be sent and if the pool is about to send a payment (might as well get that extra few BTC in this payout rather than the next right)

I figure at the current difficulty the 4 rigs will return about 1.4BTC a day, or roughly $60 an hour - $1 per minute!

Or $.25 in our case...

So Rigs #1, #2 and #3 are still down, have been now for over 12 hours.  Is someone looking into what the cause is and working to resolve it?

Maybe the stats are wrong?  I have a hard time believing 3/4's of this set is sitting their idle.  That's the point of it being on a hosted farm, right?

I suppose it is possible that they are hashing and not showing anything.

At current difficulty, 650GH/s x 4 should return ~1.45 BTC per 24 hours or a single machine should generate .35BTC per day or .014BTC per hour.

The current stats show .15BTC so far. Machine #4 has been online ~15 hours, so roughly in line.

These numbers are obviously a WAG since this has only been online less than 24 hours, but we should be around 1BTC by now.

Great thing that he just hired reinforcements! It's going to take 2-3 weeks for most of the reinforcements, however.
