Determining which ICO to invest in is an essential step towards prosperity in brutally competitive market. A well-written quality white paper understandable to all literate clients is a critical factor. VocoICO has a properly written and comprehendible whitepaper for all its potential customers. ICO team of management should have at least one member with technical experience in BLOCKCHAIN, decentralization, and cryptocurrency which is featured in more than one staff member of the Voco ICO. A well-moderated and active telegram group indicates an impressive media network which goes hand in hand with publicizing ICO.A quality ICO should also have a team of advisers, ensure financial security versus utility token and have a moderated and template marketing efforts. Voco ICO guarantees all these features.

I think ICO can be seen well if the projects they offer have sustainable projects in the future, besides the good ICO can be seen from the strength of their Team, the clear Road Map, the clear Whitepaper, the good ICO offers the best for investors.

::) 9 Focus evaluates ICO / Crowdsale project
1.   Team to ICO

3.   Roadmap for development and venture capital funds
4.   Community and media support
5.   What is their Token? Blockchain needed?
6.   Number of tokens (limited or unlimited)
An ICO project with unlimited number of tokens will be difficult to raise in the future. In addition, the greater the number of tokens, the lower the purchase price, which makes it harder for investors to sell
7.   Token Distribution - When and How?
8.   Evaluation of the ICO Whitepaper
9.   Quality code - See on Github

You can determine that the ICO is good if the whitepaper and their roadmap is good. You must check first their whitepaper, roadmap and their ICO rating. If you have see that the roadmap, whitepaper and the ICO rating is good that is the time you can join their ICO but don't forget to check the ICO start date and end date so that you will know if the ICO you are checking is still on going or it will end up already. Join ICO with long peroid of time so that you will earn big.

Good ICO has a good product to serve in crypto community. The token or coin is real had a big impact or use for every user. Great positive community always supported and create a good noise about the project. Whitepaper is presentable and cointains all info about the projrct nothing to loss some details. Social account is very active and the website looks professionally done, great editing not just finish in an hours

What makes ICO good is its sales strategy, Promotion, because with it it makes ICO a lot in the know people and that's one way for the ICO to succeed in the future. Now ICO is competing everywhere, it's all helped by its ICO team and its prism.

This is really a good question. To check out what a good ICO is,
1. You first have to check the team associated with the ICO. An ICO on health should have health professionals in fact a Doctor who backs the project.
2. Read thoroughly the whitepaper and check out for the problems identified and the solutions they want to bring on board if it is achievable
3. Also check for the soft and hard caps. This will enable you to know whether their project will be successful or not.
4. Also check for the roadmap what they want to do in the future.
5. Lastly is their coin a ERC-20 token? You need to also check that.

When all these background checks are made you will be able to know the best ICO to invest in.

Good ICOs have good community managers as well because the community especially on Telegram Channels and Reddit as both are most popular on crypto communities.
as I observed, most of the fail ICOs aren't having strong foundation of communities that's why ICOs have less active members and no community managers are more likely will be soon vanish or ended up being scam or fraud.

You'll find a lot of related threads here that will help you pick good ICOs. Personally, i read the whitepaper to check if the project is realistic. I also look at the roadmap and check some of the people behind the project. It's also worth checking the budget allocation. Good luck!

I think of their team, technology, prospects for future applications and, most importantly, profitability and acceptance by people. These can help me determine if a ico is worth investing.

ICo is good if,  product is unique and has a big affect in crypto world, means that the coin can use in personal life for example online payment. Not only listing in exchange and just buy and sell without nothing to use of. After the product tead it white paper, take a look on partnership and team. Large or known company is great, Slight look at road map. Next good ICO has a big community who support the project. Good feedback on them. These is how I critics an ICO,,

I cannot always rely on the points that you are giving because scam and fake ICOs are too good to be true this time. In fact, fake and scam ICOs do have very impressive website designs, roadmaps, advisors and all people and staff behind the crypto projects.
That is why spotting fake and scam ICOs are very difficult this time and if I truly impressed by the crypto projects, I will then wait for them to hit crypto exchanges especially on coinmarketcap.com so I could hit invest and wait for my earnings.

It's hard to spot good ICOs this time because most of the scam and fake ICOs are too good to be true.
sometimes the dev team are anonymous just like Oyster but they are making more effective crypto projects that will allow users to store their files on the IOTA Tangle.
some fake and scam ICOs are anonymous as well and the people behind are somehow real or paid personnel.
that's why, spotting good ICOs today are difficult and the only way to invest on good ICOs and crypto projects is waiting for them to hit crypto exchanges and coinmarketcap.com

There's a lot of ICO's project are really good and some of them are scam but for me to find a good ICO is checking the roadmap, their platforms, the whitepaper, team behind the project and also the bounty manager if it's really trustworthy and reliable person.

A well written white paper makes a good ICO. There's this ICO going on for an Australian company called BlockGrain.io  They’re aiming to automate the supply chain with Grain and later on Fruit/Vegetables/Wool. The sale has started.

Title: Re: What makes a good ICO?
Post by: 3kpk3 on May 19, 2018, 06:25:59 AM
That depends on a multitude of factors. Primary factor here is the whitepaper which should be analysed thoroughly according to me in order to determine whether the ICO is legit or not. Other important factors include whether the development team are transparent, hard cap or soft cap, social media interactions by the development team, website etc which need to be researched in order to differentiate between a good ICO and bad ICO.

Sometimes it is hard to say what makes an ICO good. I really like when ICO teams are very active in their social channels. The always should show you some progress of their product development, to make sure that they are doing something. I always read a lot reviews before I invest in ICOs, because the most are scams.

What makes a good ICO?

A good ICO has a good platform, great working product and roadmap. All of these things won't be great if the people working behind the project are not good. Some projects seem okay but not all of those have the best team. Some good projects end up failing because the people behind it are not solid nor market-wise.

What makes a good ICO?

Good team and a great idea. You need to have people which are professionals in their fields and not just crypto enthusiasts. For me its just weird when they state as strong suit of some team member that he is a early adopter. This doesnt mean much if he is not capable of running a project or doing his part.

You should check first their whitepapers, roadmaps and ICO ratings. Besides the good ICO can be seen from the strength of their Team, Token or coin it has real big impact or used for each user. A great positive community is always supported and creates a good voice about the project.

Agree. In addition we will considered also the previous history of the development teams members if they were already a successful ICO projects previously. The most important is just the presence of a steep project, because there are so many good projects on the market now, but in the end, after a fundamental analysis, you see a lot of shortcomings that show that the project is scam, so now we are talking about what is important really hard.

The money? You mean how much they will get from the ICO? But you will only know that when they are already finished and you are too late to invest with them. They built the ICO to get money and I am sure they dont have much that is why they started it.
That is why investors are having problems which to trust and questions like one of the OP's is being asked over and over again.

A good ICO is when the project was able to gather enough funds for the project to realize. As we all know before you introduce the project its concept to marketing is being carefully study so therefore all of these ICO projects are good. But after having some time in the sale if it could not gather enough funds then that ICO will definitely fail. So a good ICO is determine by the crowd's fund being raised.

Evaluate the stage of the project. Does it only have  a whitepaper? A beta version? Is there a launched product with limited functionality? Prefer projects which have “some lines” of working code, however, many ICOs have proven they can become success stories without any code written.
VCs (venture capital) tend to invest and support projects from early stages. Look for this information usually on the main page of the project’s website.

The lack of any signs of a fraudulent ICO is what makes a good initial coin offering successful. Most of the ICOS in the market are frauds so the first indicator of a good ICO is that it is being launched at the time of a good market condition and the second is that its backed by a good institution.

There are only few of ICO are good, the others are not good to invest, just wasting your money.
The measure of good ICO is i think the good management of the community. If The team often to communicate, i think that will be a good ICO project.

As a good ICO, whether it is centralized or decentralized, it needs strong multi-user support. If the decentralized application wants to be accepted by mainstream users, it needs to be able to support at least a million users, so the decentralized application needs to have sufficient capacity expansion.

Yes that's correct, Moreover a ICO should have a reputed management team members who has a proven record of successful project, partners of the ICO is really important, whitepapers and most importantly the services or product which the ICO has to offer as it should be the need of the hour.

A good ICO project, which depends on each specific project, and the team behind the project. Whitepaper Review of ICO Projects, Most Typical Investors Do not Read Through Whitepaper. A good ICO project has also reported on Bitcointalk.org before the ICO, Bitcoin is the largest forum and also the first forum on Bitcoin and topics related to coding. You should read the user's feedback carefully. The interest of investors will be answered or not. If the developer avoids answering a few questions, it's a bad sign.

project that deploy their project token under smart contract platform dont need to worry about this also most of the project i know dont even need that much scalability because the users is not as much as bitcoin and the transaction never make the blockchain crowded. so overall this thing you mentioned is irrelevant and cant be considered as a problem

I think there are 3 key factors of good & successfull ICO : 1) Professional team of developers, preferably with experience of blockchain development 2)Top-class market managers and advisers , including well-known personalities in crypto and business sphere 3) Significant interest of investors at the private-sale stage (millions rised) . These factors will attract a lot of new investors at ICO stage and will lead project to success.

What you say is true, surely the team has a good performance and trust, they are professional and have a big name in the blockchain world. With the aim of investors for the long-term and provide many opportunities or new ideas in ico.
One key that must be considered well in order to avoid fraud.

A good ICO project must have a white paper to study the project. This white paper can reveal the whole essence of the project. It must have a very professional website and work team. It must have a good product to serve in the encryption community. It must have Real token or coin

Not only good ICO, if you check the announcement thread or website will have the white paper at there for sure so take it as consideration for confirm good project.

If you are looking to invest on the ICO project check it whether they achieved the soft cap or not. If they didn't you should stay away.
Agreed. But with all this, do you really still want to invest in ICO, as the experience of the last six months shows that ICO issue their tokens at a lower price. Therefore, I do not see the sense to invest in ICO.

I do not know what you mean, good or potential ICO projects are evaluated by the team, the advisors, the whitepaper and especially how the future of the project will be applied in everyday life, Does it make our lives better? And the feel and activity of community groups involved in the project. These are the evaluation criteria for the ICO project

If the goal of the project is really qualitative and can be useful to people, then the project has every chance of rapid development.

well, the goal of ICO is everything in project development. Well, we know that there are so many successful ICOs these days. in my opinion, it happened because the project developed something that was needed by the community on the internet, so it encouraged many people to make the project a success.

What makes a good ICO?

What makes a good ICO? This are the following I'm looking at when joining ICO.
1. Project name. Unless it's a legit hardfork of a certain crypto then stay away from bitcoin something or ethereum something or litecoin something etc. If you think name is kinda funny and sending you red flag then beware.
2. Team Member - check out their linkedin profile (it's a must). check their background. Do they have strong background on the kind of project they are involve? Is their linkedin legit, have more than 500followers ? real photo? look at their professional history. etc...
3. Roadmap. Is it achievable? are they following their roadmap? how long the project existed?
4. Token allocation. I used to ignore this but I learned  that checking token allocation is important. Project development should have largest allocation not marketing/advertising.
5. price of token. I read somewhere that if it's more than $1 then chances is that project will fail coz that's already kinda expensive for ico token.
6. token supply. less than 1billion is ideal supply for an ico project.
7. Social media account- how many follower do they have? is it active and updated? in telegram, is admin responsive and members talking with sense or it's all just bot?
8. Website with whitepaper  Never support an ICO without website and whitepape. Not really good in looking at whitepaper but I always checked out if they have one.

Well, that's my checklist. Though it's not guarantee me 100% success but so far it works.

A good ICO, of course, we have to look at it from various aspects, such as teams and concepts that we usually pay attention to, but there are little things that we have to pay attention to, such as whether the project really has an existing team and where they stand because very influential for investors who will join the project, the last time I usually saw the community in the project if it was a large community and was very active in discussing project development, the ICO would most likely be good results.

However, do not eliminate whether the project is included in this forum because there are usually several projects that are outside the forum and many are disadvantaged even if only partially.

Of course a working platform is the main factor of them all ! I used to find WPP Energy is one of it , their innovative renewable technologies are already used by consumer from its partnered government to solve their energy shortage and also to promote using Clean Energy to preserve our ecosystem. By this means WPP Energy is one of the legitimate company that are running their ICO to adopt blockchain technology and further the range of their field developments !

::) 9 Focus evaluates ICO / Crowdsale project
1.   Team to ICO
2.   Clearly posted on professional forums (such as: bitcointalk, Reddit…)
3.   Roadmap for development and venture capital funds
4.   Community and media support
5.   What is their Token? Blockchain needed?
6.   Number of tokens (limited or unlimited)
An ICO project with unlimited number of tokens will be difficult to raise in the future. In addition, the greater the number of tokens, the lower the purchase price, which makes it harder for investors to sell
7.   Token Distribution - When and How?
8.   Evaluation of the ICO Whitepaper
9.   Quality code - See on Github

10. Developer and investor credibility.
11. token utility.(the reason token is use for)

Three main things IMHO:
1. Great team
2. Great idea (this idea must contain full understanding of future monetization)
3. Great marketing department.

The most important thing is that the developers are honest people, but unfortunately we can not verify this, I think that the best project will be the one that has a great idea and an alpha version of the product or a wonderful solution in a theoretical form.

What makes a good ICO?
Personally, I think some of the feature that makes a good ico is the whitepaper because this is the most important part of it as it gives the idea, aims and objectives of the project, the roadmap/website structure, the technology it will use and the team members, the manager, the community because they are the one to invest and support the ico to be  successful and also the company that is behind the project.
