NastyFans Minted Seat Features:
  • Receives & Stores Bitcoin Distributions for 1 NastyFans Seat
  • 1oz .999 Fine Silver
  • 39mm in Diameter
  • Tamper-Evident Security Hologram (first 150 w/ Diffusing Insert)
  • Engraved Public & Private Keys
  • Sequential Public Key Vanity Addresses (i.e. 1Nastyxx)
  • Limited 500 Coin Production Batch
  • Sealed in Plastic Airtite Capsule
  • 50% of Sales Donated to NastyFans
  • Coin Analyzer available at nastyfans.uberbills.com (http://nastyfans.uberbills.com)

These coins are similar to physical bitcoins you see from Casascius and others.  I'll highlight a few of the major differences.

First of it's kind!  Coins are tied to NastyFans seats and not preloaded with BTC.  By not preloading these coins with BTC, they are not only cheaper to purchase than their competitors, but the potential is there for the BTC address engraved on the coin to continue rising forever with regular NastyFans BTC distributions, as opposed to being a fixed amount as with similar physical Bitcoin options.  It's like having a Bitcoin miner with no costs or effort to maintain.

No more printed keys!  These keys are engraved, and forever attached to the coin.  Light diffusing material is inserted between the engraved private key and the hologram to help alleviate security concerns.

No more firstbits!  Your entire public key is engraved on the coin, eliminating any uncertainty that may exist about your coin's public address.

Sequential vanity Bitcoin addresses!  Know exactly what coin number you hold by the public address.  Each coin begins with 1Nasty and is sequentially numbered with the following two characters.

Limited production batch!  Only 500 coins produced.  Being tied to seats instead of BTC also makes these coins extremely limited, as there are a limited # of NastyFans seats.

Revenue sharing!  With 50% of sales being donated to NastyFans, this is a giant fundraiser for all NastyFans.  You know your funds are going back to the Bitcoin community and helping to support a great organization that is dedicated on doing good for Bitcoin.  It is my hope that these coins will provide happiness to existing fans, while at the same time exposing NastyFans to a new group of potential members.

Damn it if this was announced sooner I would haven't spent all my paycheck on Friday/cyber monday :( and like heck am I selling my seats to buy the coin.

*Devils advocate*...In fact if I'm a seat holder I'm not sure what the advantage of having this coin is.

I dropped as many hints as I could in the NASTY MINING | NASTY POOL (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=86854.0) thread.

I'd say the advantage is that you can hold them in your hand.  Being innovative and limited also makes them collectible.

What's the timeline for shipping the initial orders?

It depends on a last minute decision I'm in the process of making.  Right now I am testing different light diffusing plastics to see which will provide the most security from light tampering techniques.  Once I have made a final decision (waiting on a few more samples to test), I will rush the order and start engraving coins like a madman.  I am going to do everything in my power to get these out before Christmas.  If anyone who orders their coin today does not have it in hand by the end of the year, I will consider my timeline as a failure.

Would you send these to the UK?

Yes.  If you place an international order, please send 0.02 BTC to the address in my signature as a tip.

That's a spiffy looking coin.

Thank you.  The coin designer would tell you I was extremely picky about it. :)

I really like the look of the hologram!

Thank you.  The graphic I used for it to be made was highly detailed and the most favorite artwork I think I've ever had made.  It shows the NastyFans/NASTY MINING/Nasty Pool logos as well as the 3 separate coins.  I wish I could post it so you could see the detail and awesomeness that is the hologram, but I fear that might be a security concern.

I've decided on using a combination of materials to help secure the private key, while also making sure to cause no ill effects to the silver.  The end result is a more secure coin, with a circular bump beneath the middle of the hologram.  I made sure to cut the circle to fit nicely beneath the circle in the middle of the hologram design, so it gives it a 3D look with a secure feel.  Final coins have begun being produced, with 4 coins now totally finished.

Here is a new one showing the bump:

I'm not going to pretend the pictures are good, or even decent.  Once they start arriving in the hands of Fans, I'm sure some better pics will be made available.  My apologies for that.

Thats one sexy hologram!

I would also like to say that DobZombie was instrumental in the designing of the hologram and very patient with my requests.  Thanks Dob!

All US orders have been shipped.  International orders will be shipping later this week.

will these still be avaluble to buy in the new year?

Any more news on getting these to the UK?

These will be available until they are all sold.  I have about 420 left.

No updates on international shipping.  All I can say is that it COULD take a couple months for them to get mailed from overseas if you place an international order now.  From time to time I do have someone send international packages for me, but I won't make any promises.  I would like to get all previously placed international orders out by year end though.

Updated the OP (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=352515.msg3773054#msg3773054) with a new picture.  Here's a couple more.

All ordered coins have now been created.  I'll be making another trip to the post office on Saturday, so if you order in the next 24 hours you should have your coin in time for a last minute Christmas present.

I also cross-posted this thread on Reddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1t8kuk/nasty_mining_presents_1oz_999_silver_physical/).

If anyone wants I can post a comparison picture too with a Casascius coin - these are much bigger - even the hologram on the 1 ounce coin is about the entire size of the casascius coin.

Seats begin accumulating distributions immediately.  However, there is a threshold set for minimum payouts to avoid dust accumulating on the address, so it may be a few weeks before you notice a payout.  You will soon be able to check the balance held below the threshold on nastyfans.org once development is complete.

Come back and let us know what you think once you've received your coin.  :)

The 1g silver collector's rounds (both the 2013 & 2014 coins) are no longer free, but if you would like them, send me a PM and I can include them with your order for a very small fee.

See below quote from nonnakip.  The payout threshold for these coins has been set at 0.001 BTC.  Nastyfans.org has also been updated so that you can now monitor the amount held below the threshold.

nastyfans web interface updated. On home page you see donations held by nastyfans for online and minted seats. I will improve it later to show individual minted seats.

I talk with OgNasty about minted seat payout threshold. Together we decide that a fixed threshold of 0.001 BTC will allow frequent payouts and avoid dust.

Received my coin about a week before Christmas, and I must say that the pictures don't do it justice.
The minting on the face of the coin picks up the minute details of the design wonderfully, especially on the dissipating effect of the water surface over NASTYFANS.
And the holographic reverse displays a beautiful psychedelic composition, I might get a video of the reflection to post here later.

Thanks for organizing this coin project for the NASTYFANS!

Nasty Mining: (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=352515.msg3773054#msg3773054)

2014
http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3705/12077880644_2ed0ac74a1_o.jpg
BTC – One troy ounce silver coin, 39mm diameter, 500 minted. Engraved public & private keys, tamper-evident security hologram with diffusing insert, entirely visible sequential public vanity addresses (all starting with 1Nasty). Each coin entitles the holder to 1 NastyFans share and receives its equivalent voting rights on NastyFans.org and mining operation pay-outs sent to the coin's address. NastyFans has issued 25,000 shares (referred to as seats). As of Jan 2014 each share receives the total amount of crypto mined in the mining operation (at 450GH) divided by 25,000 shares on a recurring weekly basis. This will soon be bumped up to 10THs plus 25MH/s of scrypt power to be added to the mining operation for shareholders. In addition to payouts from the mining operation shareholders also receive a top up from non affiliated users mining in the NastyFans altcoin mining pool where users are currently mining at 750GH/s.

Let's say that after 5 years, a NastyFans coin has accumulated about 5 BTC (wouldn't that be nice) - when I take the hologram off the back and swipe the BTC, does the now-exposed coin continue to receive dividends?

If you wanted, you could send the coin back and have the seat un-minted back to your NastyFans.org account.  You would also receive a payment for the silver in the coin.

The answer to your questions is: yes.

The unmint option is something OgNasty is offering and will be respected by the fanclub. This is the only option that will stop donations to the coin.

@ OgNasty

I logged in and bought a seat. I like your setup for NastyFans. It's a good way to achieve a funding goal. However I'm wondering if the minted coin price is based upon a USD to MtGox pricing. MtGox is way off (about $370 vs $650 elsewhere or 57% lower) right now and the price of the coin seems very high to me. If you are intending to price based upon your fiat cost, the calculation may be way off (by about 70% high right now).

At any rate, I'm interested in your minted coins, but not at that price. Even with potential "collector value" involved, they are priced way too high, in my opinion. If there was a chance they would become filled with their cost in BTC I might feel differently. However, at current rates, if there were no increase in difficulty, it would take a very long time for them to become filled with their cost in BTC.

If I'm reading something wrong here or misinformed, inform me. I'll be happy to edit or yank this post.

It will take even longer for a Casascius coin to reach the BTC paid for it, or any coin in existence.  ;)   I'd say what makes this coin special is that it actually has a chance of reaching more in it's denomination than it's cost.  No other coin in mankind's history (to my knowledge) has that possibility.

Our pricing formula (which is a mixture of USD and BTC values) is based on mtgox rates.  I understand your complaint and hopefully when mtgox resumes withdrawals, things will return to normal.  If there continues to be a wide spread between exchanges for much longer, we will look into using another exchange.

The MtGox price is even more absurd now. I guess the issue with using another exchange price is technical (API)?

MikeMark if you want to buy a NastyFans seat coin, I'll sell you one of mine at the issue price using the Bitstamp price. PM if interested.

The pricing formula has been updated to use the blockchain.info rate.  Thanks nonnakip!  That should have dropped the price.  I'll look into how the formula can be adjusted to maintain a little more balance during these price swings.

Yes, I will ship worldwide.  I typically ask international orders to take pity on me and send 0.02 BTC to the address in my signature for each international order.  I have no problem shipping bulk amounts, but there are less than 400 coins left for purchase at the moment.

How long does it usually take to get the first satoshis into this coin?  A friend of mine got this coin a month ago but claims it is still empty.

That depends on a multitude of factors (p2pool luck, coin sales, pool usage, network difficulty, etc.)...  We are waiting on the next batch of upgraded ASICs, so I assume donations will be rising quite a bit in the next few weeks.  You can check the coin's balance prior to it hitting the payout threshold at any time by logging into your account at NastyFans.org.  If you don't have an account at NastyFans.org, you can sign up and use nastyfans.org/post to post a message with the coin's address and your username to have the coin linked to your account.

Very nice looking coin.  Hopefully a few more reviews with pictures will come in. Great job though!

There are a few more pics on page 2 of the thread if you missed those.  Although, I'm always happy to have people post more.  :)

The coin is stunning.
The amount of detail is amazing.  I find myself carrying it with me all the time.  When I show it to people even non-bitcoin people they love it.
It is one of the most unique and cool coins I have seen.

Title: WIN A FREE 1OZ SILVER NASTYFANS PHYSICAL SEAT!!!
Post by: OgNasty on June 09, 2014, 09:31:12 PM
NastyPool Contest Announcement

Anyone who mines on NastyPool (nastyfans.org:9332) from June 10th through June 12th will be entered into a lottery. You will get a lottery ticket for each MH/s you average from midnight June 10th until midnight June 13th. Even GPU miners should be able to earn a lottery ticket and maybe some CPU miners!

When mining for the lottery, use your NastyFans username as the miner username. If your miner is less than 1 GH/s it is recommended to add +5 to the end of your username. This will allow the pool to more quickly recognize the work your miner is doing. Just keep in mind it is limited to NastyFans members. (Of course, for 0.0393 BTC anyone can buy a seat at nastyfans.org and join the fun!)

After June 12th the lottery tickets will be distributed and visible from your NastyFans account. Later there will be a drawing.

The prize? ... A FREE MINTED SEAT! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=352515.msg3773054#msg3773054)

So get your CPU/GPU/FPGA/ASIC miners fired up for 3 days of Nasty Mining!

Most definitely.  Are you the creator of http://casascius.uberbills.com ?  If so, I am a fan.

While nonnakip is planning on putting a NastyFans Bitcoin Analyzer together for us eventually, there are quite a few things above it on the to-do list.  I think a 3rd party analyzer would actually be great even if we did create our own, as it would be the first time a 3rd party developed software for NastyFans, which I would love to encourage.  :)

Title: [WTS] 5oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats
Post by: OgNasty on October 05, 2014, 01:39:48 AM
5oz NastyFans Minted Seats Update (17 left available for preorder)

Here's the first look at our upcoming 5oz coins.  Some people have talked to me about getting their orders in ASAP due to concerns about a falling Bitcoin price.  Since I will not be placing the order until I have 20 of the coins preordered to help with costs, that leaves some of you watching as your saved bitcoin's value dwindles and me being hesitant to accept preorders as a volatile Bitcoin price could result in a disastrous scenario for preorders.  Pricing of the coins has been set at $400 and the 5 seats will be free for all who preorder.  If you do wish to preorder, I have been talked into accepting them as opposed to taking pledges, but it will come with some risk.  I have opened a bitfinex.com account and am willing to accept your BTC and hold it in USD until the order is ready to be placed.  This will allow those of you who want to spend your BTC now the ability to do so and it will allow me to begin taking a count of preorders so that fans can have a good idea of when the order will actually be placed.  It does however put your funds at the risk of a 3rd party.  If bitfinex goes through a mtgox type scenario while we are awaiting placing the order, I cannot accept responsibility.  Please contact me if you are fine with that risk and want to preorder before the BTC price falls any further.  For the rest of you, I will keep you updated when we get close to the 20 preordered coins so that you can order with BTC direct from me without any 3rd party risk at that time should you choose to do so.

https://talkimg.com/images/2024/01/11/3Mdra.png

As you can see, the increased size of a 5oz coin allowed for a new added design on the back (hologram superimposed for look).  Another addition to this coin will be that it is being minted in proof-like quality.  Due to this, the coins will ship to me individually packaged instead of in rolls, so they should be much more free from scratches.

Og,
A few questions:

Total coins minted?
What is the approx diameter?
Since the coin is likely very large, are you shipping these in some slab or airtite?

I recently picked one up.  At the time of purchase, it was 0.47BTC.  The coin is very cool.  I'm definitely not a coin expert as this is my first ever purchase of any kind of collectible coin, but it comes in a very nice clear plastic air-tight holder and there aren't any visible artifacts on the coin itself that I can see.  Hologram on the back.

have any casascius 0.5s? I'd be interested in a trade

I don't have any nasty fans coins but would order one direct from nastyfans.org to your delivery address in exchange for the casascius

Only one 0.5, and would not want to come off of that one at this time.

Thanks for throwing an idea out there though. I just figured if somebody had multiples of the 1oz NastyFans rounds, then they could possibly get some new coins they don't have and I could get another coin for my collection off of my 'Want List'. I would try to think of a trade beneficial to both parties. Not trying to thread jack though, so shoot me a PM maybe if anybody is interested.

No worries about thread jacking. I like folks that are willing to barter.  Maybe if you listed what you had available for trade it would help.  Good luck!

^^^ What he said.

If you don't want to list publicly, toss me a PM also.  I've got a handful of these, I can trade one, or as camolist suggested a fresh one could be purchased and sent to you directly in exchange.

BTW, OgNasty, any update on the 5oz pucks (so as to redirect back on-topic at least slightly :)  )?  Can't wait to get my hands on them...

Right on, thanks for the cool response man! Alright I'll dive into it here. I have many more valuable/rare physical cryptos, but I'll list what I'm willing to trade for a 1 oz. NastyFans coin. Willing to trade multiple lower-value coins to equal the amounts. Ideally this would be good for a physical crypto collector who has an extra NastyFans round and is missing some of these in their collection:

-multiple Lealana 0.1 BTC Brass
-Crypto Imperator 10,000 DOGE, Funded
-couple Cryptolator Unchained Copper, COA, leatherette
-bhcoins Series 3, COA
-MS-67 bhcoins Series 3, COA
-multiple bhcoins Series 4, COA
-MicroSoul 0.01 BTC 2013, Funded
-multiple Serpcoin DIY2
-Antana Statistics "Thank You Casascius" round
-Bitcoin Suisse AG "Demo" Certificate

Also have a few non-BTC Silver rounds and NastyFans seats that we could possibly work with. If anybody's interested in a possible trade just let me know and we'll go from there!

If you use your own seats and mint them through your account, it should be $80 each.

I am making a serious dission this week as to what coin i can afford to start my collection with, im almost certain it will be a nasty fan coin since these look very well minted and are not too expensive.
just a couple of questions,
1) Is there any 1oz gold highlight coins left available, if so how many?
2) How many 1oz have been or will be produced?

I think i will go with the 1oz but gold highlight or plain silver is the question for me to decide now.

I would start small, and expand. The cheapest are the 1 gram NastyFans and NastyPool coins. The 1oz NF coin was my first, before that I collected a ton of the casascius coins.

Thanks, any left and if so is it just a $15 premium on the silver, $115 +$15 = $130 for 1oz gold highlight?
And i noticed the btc price on OP next to the fiat price was probably set when thread was started, and no linger matches the fiat price, are these sold as btc only price (0.20036btc) or $115 payable in btc equivalent?

There are some gold highlighted coins left.  They are $130.  In the OP, it uses an updating image for the BTC price.  This forum caches images (or possibly your browser does also), so it doesn't always update before displaying it for you.  However, it is showing the correct price for me currently.

At the online auction enter the number of seats to buy and click "buy". A Bitcoin address is provided where you send your Bitcoin. The seats will be transferred to your membership account after the transaction is confirmed.

Does that mean I can buy seats that are not attached to a coin?

What does having an account on your website do?

The list of coins that you have produced are:

1 OZ Silver
1 OZ silver Gilt
2 OZ silver
2 OZ silver gilt
2 OZ gold
4 OZ gold (pending)
5 OZ silver
10 OZ silver
10 OZ silver gilt
Nastypenny
Bitcoin Rounds 4 different ones total
1G Nasty Pool
1G Nastyfan

I am on a quest to own 1 of every coin you have produced (if possible)

Can you show me a picture of what the 1 OZ diffusing insert looks like? Is that on both the 1 OZ silver and the 1 OZ gilt?

Do you do the engraving of the private keys yourself? Doesnt the engraving machine have to "save" the engraving ? (talking about the private keys)

Yes.

What does having an account on your website do?

It is nonnakip's website, but an account allows you to set an address to receive BTC distributions, as well as participate in polls.  There is a FAQ of sorts here: https://nastyfans.org/about

The list of coins that you have produced are:

1 OZ Silver
1 OZ silver Gilt
2 OZ silver
2 OZ silver gilt
2 OZ gold
4 OZ gold (pending)
5 OZ silver
10 OZ silver
10 OZ silver gilt
Nastypenny
Bitcoin Rounds 4 different ones total
1G Nasty Pool
1G Nastyfan

You forgot the 5oz silver gilt.

Can you show me a picture of what the 1 OZ diffusing insert looks like? Is that on both the 1 OZ silver and the 1 OZ gilt?

No, I did not take pictures.  However, they look like a small metallic disc with a small plastic disc acting as an insulator.  They were only included in the first 150 1oz all silver Minted Seats.

Do you do the engraving of the private keys yourself? Doesnt the engraving machine have to "save" the engraving ? (talking about the private keys)

Yes.  I do the engraving and key generation personally.  The engraving machine "saves" data the same way a printer would "save" the data it prints.  I am aware of this and manage it accordingly.

You're welcome.  I engrave and assemble each coin after it's ordered, so a lot of care goes into each one.  :)

A 1oz gold coin would have to be really thin, but it's possible.  Perhaps a 1oz gold coin in a different coin series down the line.

Perhaps it could be the size of the american gold eagle 33 mm 2.9 thickness so it isn't too thin.  Just a thought.

I own a 1 oz silver minted seat, worth around $800 in bitcoin right now.  I do not see anywhere on how to withdraw the bitcoin from the physical coin, or if I do so, does that mean that I no longer have a seat that will continue to generate bitcoin?  I have read tolns of reviews and blogs, and there is no information about it.  I know there is a hologram on the coin, but do I need to peel it off to get access to withdraw the bitcoin?  And again, does that mean that I will no longer be generating bitcoin on that seat?

You would have to peel the holo sticker and import the private key into an address.  Effectively ruining the coin.  The private key would still have the seat attached to it however.  you might do better listing the coin for sale on the forum instead of peeling the holo.

Seems like you loaded it with the amount a whore would get. (Anyone get that reference?)

You are better off auctioning it here than peeling it

My 1oz silver (without gold) coin is for sale and it includes a seat.  The address is engraved on it.  The donations attached to the seat that have been collecting since I bought it in June 2016 are included in your purchase price as I have not had any withdrawals from what has collected.  I will ask OG and/or nonnakip to transfer ownership of the seat and donations to you as the new owner.  Not sure what the current price is for these, so feel free to make me an offer.

Value:   $35.66 of coin and collected distributions

PM your offer including shipping and please specify State and Zip code (if USA) or Country.  I prefer to ship with tracking.

You’re right. There are lots of coins out there that have earned more free BTC.  :D

Oh wait, this is the ONLY physical BTC line ever created that generates actual coins.  Let’s complain about it!

If you don’t like the product, don’t buy.  If you don’t like the returns, get involved.  If you just want to bitch and complain, create a new thread.  I’m quite thrilled with 30,000 seats generating $3 each in two years (that’s $120,000 in donations to NastyFans)!  It wildly surpasses any expectation I had when I raised a couple hundred dollars to run an FPGA miner more than 6 years ago.  I can’t wait to hear the amount people are complaining about in another 7 years.  I’m sure it will be equally impressive and those who own this piece of crypto history are unlikely to be disappointed.

This thread just broke 30,000 views!

How is anyone even claiming this is a bad return. Seat is worth 0.002 and collected 0.00041002 in two years so about 20% (future yield may be lower ofc). What's the problem exactly? Trolls gonna troll.

If you would like statistics that aren't skewed, you can check out the following page that was created over the course of around a year:
https://web.archive.org/web/20180825232210/http://minifrij.com/nasty/

Assuming that the return is linear over the year (which it wouldn't be) and the return is on one seat (which it absolutely isn't), the return halved is around 0.00020501. Compared to the price of a seat around one year ago, 0.0077BTC, the return is closer to 2.5%. Not that this is accurate whatsoever though, as the reward given is a result of multiple seats, therefore meaning the percentage return is significantly lower.

Regarding the sale price of a seat alone, in USD (as Og loves to reference), you would have made more than double your money by just keeping the BTC used at this point (and up to 3x more over the course of the last year), rather than buying the seat over a year.

Now, if those aren't returns worth creaming yourself over, what is?

I have no intention of replying to anyone over this, the statistics are there for anyone to see and figure out. If you expect me to answer anything, don't hold your breath.

It’s all on the blockchain. Do your own research. All the info is provided. No other coin generates anything and many are more expensive. Again, if you don’t like, don’t buy. Complaining about a feature no other coin has makes you a bit foolish. Almost as foolish as creating a chart where the historical price paid changes based on future exchange rates. It’s basically admitting you are committing tax fraud with your personal finances. It is clear you guys have a grudge and are presenting dishonest information in an attempt to bash my products. It is pathetic the attempts you make to try and harm this community organization. I sent a $4,000 donation just a week or so ago... Minted Seats are unique and incredible. I don’t need your support, but the continued hate towards such a groundbreaking product is going to make you seem more and more foolish in time as well as an enemy to Bitcoin innovation.

Feel free to continue the trolling though. This will be gold to reference in a few decades. 31,000 views!

Again.... no trolling from me.  I was researching a coin.  I know nothing about you and could honestly care less about you personally.  How could I have a grudge against you?  Lol.  I also own the 2017, 2018 binary round BTC set and the 2018 LTC set.  You know nothing about me.....  I just made a comment that I was unimpressed with the return.... I wished the person good luck with their sale.  You then got lippy with me so I looked a little further.  I’m not trolling you buddy.  You just got all chesty with me and I’m not the type to be walked on.  You are the one who looks terrible in this situation.  .....and yet you have so much to say except the answer to my question about the “free” BTC.  This has become boring and like talking to the wall.  Best of luck with all your products.

You seem to take issue with the word free. I should have called the funds what they are, donations. I guess they aren’t free, as hundreds of involved Bitcoiners are the ones helping generate the donations with their efforts.

I don’t care if I look terrible. I care about Bitcoin. I care about innovation. I care about mankind. This project was created to show there is a better more fair method of distributing funds in an organization than the CEO making a fortune and walking with a golden parachute. You either see the genius in the structure or you don’t. You either want to be a part of this piece of Bitcoin history or you don’t. The judge will be the test of time though, not some newbies who don’t understand finance and wonder why the organization they bash instead of foster is failing to meet their ridiculous expectations. I think the problem is just ignorance and a lack of experience with investments. NastyFans seats have been one of the greatest returns I’ve ever made after a 2 decade long investment career. The only thing that has outperformed them is Bitcoin itself. Having the seats minted to a physical coin that stores the distributions, well, that’s just awesome.  ;D

There is a minimum accrual before it gets paid out on the blockchain (not sure what that number might be). I have one of the earliest coins and it did get a blockchain payout once the minimum was reached in addition to ongoing accrual.

Anyway, there's nothing wrong with not wanting to buy these coins, or anything else, but I don't see the need for hostility about it.

Yes it is possible they are bad investments. It is also possible some aspect (the coin itself for collectable purposes, the silver, the seat, and/or the mining/donation accruals) or the combination of them makes it a good investment, or that someone might not care and see it as a good community builder. Who knows, really. Participate if you like or not if you don't.

The last 1oz coins I released were 3x for under $200 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2286786.0).  That includes generating custom addresses, engraving key pairs, attaching holograms, and a donation to NastyFans...  If that's too expensive, I also have the binary rounds that were available for as cheap as $35 per round (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1637562.0) (which also include the community donation).

More than 6 years since these coins were released and I'm still fascinated by and proud of this innovation in an organization's distributions.  Bitcoin's growth has certainly provided some unforeseen challenges, but it's great to see no compromises or disfunction in these coins to date.

Thank you.  If kept in their original plastic capsules they will maintain their beauty for many years to come.  The original coins released are holding $37.89 at the current rate.  I suspect in time they will surpass their sale price of ~$100, but more importantly it demonstrates an incredibly unique and innovative concept that continues to operate successfully today.

I know of a few things in the works for NastyPool, but I'm not sure I'm the person to comment on it as my only involvement was as a user.  NastyPool was also free to use, so it never had any effect on seats that I'm aware of (outside of p2pool's irregularity).  It was built to support decentralized mining, which turned out to be not so important to the mining community as time evolved.  We hoped to show that things could be built on top of p2pool, like NastyFans showed how things could be built on top of Bitcoin.  I would love to continue supporting p2pool and believe that decentralized mining should be important to everyone involved with Bitcoin, but I heard many complaints about the regularity of mining rewards that ultimately made me decide to mine at a centralized pool like everyone else.

With the recent Bitcoin price run, the original minted seats purchased in this thread are now holding $114.09 in BTC with another $3.13 pending distribution.  This $117.22 in BTC marks these coins having a positive ROI in real dollar terms after only 7 years and is a great sign of things to come.

All minted seats are engraved after they are ordered, so you are correct to assume that any Minted Seat purchased from the shop for $95 will not contain $117.22 (more now) in BTC.  It is great that the original seats here were able to more than ROI in 7 years, but that return isn't promised going forward.  While this is an amazing proof of concept on an innovative idea, I don't believe people should be purchasing these purely with ROI in mind.  If that was the goal, purchasing online digital seats from nastyfans.org would get you a much faster ROI, as the cost of an online seat is currently around 20% the cost of a Minted Seat as a result of not needing 1oz of silver, a custom generated vanity address, assembly with a custom hologram, a donation to NastyFans, or precious metal engraving services.

Due to an increase in the value of BTC held by NastyMining, seats attached to coins sold in the NastyShop will be rising in price in the near future causing a slight increase in the price of Minted Seats across the board.  A tip: You can get around any seat price increases in the shop by minting seats you've purchased on the online auction from other members.

Originally purchased Minted Seats from this thread are now holding $190.24 in BTC and an additional $5.38 is pending distribution at the current exchange rate.

They think it's a lottery because only some the coins actually get these "distributions."  One would wonder why all seats don't get paid out?  Many of us are interested in this answer... but I'm sure you'll delete this post so you don't have to explain the scam publicly.

All seats receive BTC weekly from NastyFans distributions. You can see the amount held for each minted seat here: https://nastyfans.org/mint.json

Once seats reach a certain threshold amount, BTC is distributed to the coin’s address with the weekly NastyFans distribution (closing in on 10 years of weekly distributions with over 700 BTC distributed. You can view the distribution history here: https://nastyfans.org/distribution.summary.csv). This is to avoid “dust” amounts building up on the coin that would get eaten with a large transaction fee when the BTC is moved. You can check amounts held on individual coins by using a block explorer and entering the address engraved on the coin.

There are 30,000 seats in total and distributions are supplied by mining rewards from my humble mining operation as well as donations from other members, so expectations should be appropriate. Those only concerned with BTC returns would obviously be better served purchasing online digital seats from https://nastyfans.org than a precious metal coin, but as far as an innovative physical Bitcoin wallet, I think Minted Seats take the cake.

Also, I believe the lotto he inquired about (my response still being valid) is my coming $10,000 coin giveaway mentioned here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=86854.msg56118909#msg56118909

So far the poll results for the giveaway are:
no: 1038 (6.4%)
yes: 2914 (17.9%)

Looking like a $10K, 100 Minted Seat coin giveaway is getting closer to reality!  All you need to enter for a chance to win a 1oz/2oz/5oz silver minted seat is to own an online NastyFans seat purchased from the auction at https://nastyfans.org and wait for the giveaway!

Also, as we go speeding towards new highs again I though I would give an update on the current value stored on these coins.  At the current rate, originally minted seats are now holding $241.85 worth of BTC with another $7.19 pending.  That total of $249.04 represents nearly a $150% gain from the ~$100 sales price (ballpark price effected by shipping and if you minted your own seat purchased from the auction or purchased a seat to mint).  Pretty amazing considering the costs built into coins for silver, engravings, supplies, etc.  It is still recommended for those chasing yield to purchase online seats, which sell for much cheaper and thus have a greater return than their physical counterparts due to not having the associated costs mentioned previously.

If you haven't already, you can still purchase minted seats at https://nastyfans.org/mint

Shipped out a few sets of coins today of weekend orders from the NastyShop.  Orders sure heat up whenever the Bitcoin price drops (human behavior is fascinating).  Hope to see some pics when they start arriving at their new homes.  If you were on the fence during the dip, these should look more attractive now.  :)  The supply on these 1oz rounds is finally beginning to dwindle as well.  There will come a point when they're sold out and I don't think you'll find that this product is easily duplicated due to the infrastructure and real life hashrate and services backing it, not to mention the innovations from 10 years ago are still ahead of the curve and the decade long distribution history cannot be replicated.  Enjoy!

Were you happy with this answer?  Everything is publicly documented on the blockchain so it is verifiable and all information is provided with regularly updating statistics you can view through .json and .csv files.  Seems like an apology would be in order for saying something that is blockchain verifiable as not being a scam and documented clearly so it is easily provable and understood by anyone who takes the time to look.  I'm a bit surprised that anyone would continue to take the stance that this project is a scam after more than a decade of regularly paying out distributions exactly as stated and providing such easy to access and well documented history.  In any event, I did appreciate the opportunity to once again prove the merit of this organization.  That's why we provide all this data, so that people don't have to blindly listen to those yelling fire in a crowded theater.  They can look for themselves.

There are now 413 1oz Silver NastyFans Minted Seats in circulation.  I am also holding back 2 of them to likely be destroyed that I made mistakes during the engraving process (not sure if I should try to salvage them or not).  That leaves 85 of them left available for purchase before they're gone forever...  Don't miss out.  I suspect once they sell out they will be hard to get your hands on.

As the Bitcoin price dips to new lows and there is a lot of uncertainty on the market, I feel like it might be nice to give people a place to spend their coins instead of worrying about exchanges and losing money holding.  So...  I'd like to extend the offer that anyone who orders a 1oz minted seat in the next 48 hours will receive a NastyFans T-shirt for free with their order (as supplies last).  Just include your preferred T-shirt size in with your address (I'll figure it out) and I'll do my best to get you the closest size available if yours is out of stock.  I currently have S,M,L,XXL available.  Enjoy!

TL;DR

Order a 1oz minted seat today from https://nastyfans.org/mint and get a free t-shirt!

I was recently informed that a couple of these minted seats have been listed at auction on Stacks Bowers website.  Very cool.  I'll post links below directly to the coin auctions.  I'm not sure exactly how their auctions work, but it sounds like these may be a couple of the first sales of NastyFans Minted Seats in USD.  I'm not aware of any eBay sales of these coins, but that doesn't mean they haven't happened.  If you're in the market for these coins and want to spend USD though, this is a great chance to do so.  The gilt version of this coin is also fairly rare, as it sold out over 10 years ago.  Pretty cool to see it offered at a major auction.

I've decided to start posting some of the personal message questions I receive asking questions to the threads so that others with the same questions can have them answered as well.  This one seemed like a good one as I'm not sure how often I've posted the amount of stock remaining.

Hi,

Would you be so kind as to let me know how many of each of all of the coin styles are remaining. (or est ballpark)

Thank you in advance:)

There are currently 82 of the 1oz all silver coins left for sale in the NastyShop (2 have been labeled errors to be destroyed so the publicly available information shows 84 left).  This was out of a total of 450.  There were also 50 gold highlighted versions created, but they have all been sold.  This information is publicly available here: https://nastyfans.org/mint.json in case anyone wanted to be able to figure this information out on their own in the future.  As always, they can be purchased here: https://nastyfans.org/mint

Just an update on the auction. It appears the 1oz all silver Minted Seat sold for $360 while the gold highlighted version sold for $1,200. While the gold highlighted versions are sold out, you can still get the silver versions. In the listing that sold for $360, it says the coin held $40 of BTC. That means the real world auction market is placing a premium of about $200 on these coins compared to what you can buy them for brand new today… Be glad you know where to buy them… It appears many people would be buying if they knew where to get them so cheap.
https://NastyFans.org/mint - Grab yourself some before the secret gets out and the only way to get them is paying massive premiums.

Thanks for the positive feedback on the coins.

The uberbills site is maintained by forum user naypalm. It has been some time since I’ve received responses to my messages from him, so I assume that he’s working on other things. The site was setup to be automated, so it seems like it’s still functional but who knows how often updates happen or if they do at all.

I can tell you that the information site uberbills uses to gather information is actively updated and located here: https://nastyfans.org/mint.json
