Title: The Black Watch // NOIRBITS RE-VAMP THREAD!!!!!! (OP MANAGED)
Post by: barwizi on December 09, 2013, 09:11:10 AM
OK, so the original Noirbits was pretty cool and had a great run, some guy took it over and abandoned it. What i have learned from that is rushed updates do not work. Also community management for Alts is a no flyer. I'll be taking it back now thanks.

So... firstly i want to apologize for the lateness, i am juggling a lot at the moment. This update serves to help secure the chain and gain interest again.

Most have complained about sync issue, i too had them , even when i was trying to do the update. I have been trying to fix this with help from other devs, don't worry, it's done.

Next is the many reports of lost coins, since the last pool from the takeover is offline, it is going to be difficult to tell who lost what coins. Please post full reports as i intend to pay those coins back.

There will be a running lotto for 3 months

1st prize ---5000
2nd prize --- 2000
3rd prize --- 500

For miners or pools that find certain key blocks i will also be rewarding them with 200 NRB per block.

As it stands, this coin has so much potential. Those who keep up know i am in Africa at the moment and have already attained a Banking License as well as Foreign Exchange permit. Using my home as the offices all that is left is for my hardware to arraive and acquire the required "float fund" to begin operations.

I want to thank the new guys who have brought in some pools, your efforts are appreciated and i will be paying out bounties after the update is successful.

nrb.cryptopools.com (http://nrb.cryptopools.com) still has over 700 bonus blocks left so get them while they last.  That's 5 NRB for every block you find.

Happy mining!!

There will also be a one off prize to all miners that mine faithfully on all pools for one week.

Have you heard of the DAC concept being applied to Protoshares and Bitshares? How would you like NRB being used as shares in Noirbank? Instead of shareholders buying shares From a central point, you can earn your own. This puts a lot of control in the hands of the community. I had intended this to be an all out community managed project but it didn't work. But if the community has heavy influence like that then maybe it's a better model.

Here is my Plan

Step one---Get more interest and hopefully raise awareness therefore increase community size (1 month)

Step two --- Begin offering small services and goods, including a small exchange site that trades for USD directly. ( 3-5 months)

Step three --- Launch the bank with ammased NRB and USD.

From there it gets interesting. Since my move to Africa, i have an abundance of space, so i will be buying more servers with what i make off this venture. Once i have reasonable servers, i will begin hosting... all the profit goes to shareholders ie (NRB Bank account holders with a balance in the account).

As the business grows(hopefully) i will introduce new products and services that will see shareholders Quarterlies rise. All this is long term, but it is the future i envision.

As for Noirtokens and the Physical NRB, those will wait until i have met at least two of the above objectives.

I'm confused by these statements. If NRB act as shares in Noirbank, what's the purpose of Noirtokens?

i have benched it, it's a project that takes time and does not have a targeted use yet. One of my ideas can be applied to it, it is called "Derived value alternate currency" simply put there are some good alts that failed to reach exchange, so, we can grow our community my including them. We do this by implementing a hard limit set trade-off

Coin A has 20000000 cap but only 10000000 have been mined at Limit date
Coin B has 1000000000 cap and 60000000 have been mined at Limit date
Coin C has limit 100000 cap and 99000 have been mined at Limit date
Coin D has limit 10000000000 cap and 6500000 have been mined at Limit date

So, Noirtokens would have say a 100000000 cap, of that 15% is mined in the first block, this is then entered into an automatic escrow service that has the Limit date set for each coin, meaning coins minted before the limit date can be traded directly for NRT. By having a maximum of 24 coins we stand to bring in members of those small 24 communities into ours thereby making ours much larger.

Using the number 24 we can say 1st class coins are only 4, second class coins are 8 and 3rd class are 12.

Of the 15% money supply allocated to these coins 1st class gets 7% second gets 5.5% and 3rd 2.5%.

Now it becomes maths, 4 coins take 7%, between them they share it equally===1.75%, so if there exist as i pointed out in A, B , C and D then all the coins mined on each chain up to Limit date are equivalent to only 1.75% of the total money supply for NRT.

The vetting process has been discussed in length by me and digitalindustry, we found that if we list coins we think have potential (with suggestions from ya'llz) we can then let the community vote.

The criteria is simple
  • No Premine or very small one
  • Chain should still be active, we dnt want to have to restart it ourselves
  • The dev should give the go ahead, or if he does not respond at all, we go ahead
  • Coin should be at least two months old and show actual signs of dying out
  • Chain should not need repair by me or anyone working with the NRB/NRT core team
  • It has to work, as in there are coins that just did not work, i loved one coin, but it would be hard to implement

The groups for coins are chosen based on votes, so each one counts. if you have some old coin lying around and wish to get back your investment, this would be a good option. The overall goal is a larger community, with massive hash strength.

We can then place a cross trade from NRT to NRB, see, we can say that 1 NRB = 20 NRT, that is an effective increase on the money supply on NRB without altering it's code and devaluing it. Eventually, the escrow is closed, after the window period is over. All deposited coins are destroyed, leaving only holders of NRT and NRB...our gold and silver. This means that the only way of gaining shares at this point is buying or mining.

(EXPERIMENTAL) Rather than having useless hashes on the Blockchain Later on Bank Transactions and some securities measures will utilise that data as random security keys and generate highly encrypted BOSS keys that will allow users to manipulate their accounts with no fears. 2FA is a great idea but it requires too much effort, instead i am thinking of a once off per device method as i will encourage this to be mostly mobile operated.

Most of this stuff is new to me so i'm trying to drink my coffee, put on some pants and drive (so to say). One thing is clear though, i can't do it alone. If anyone has any ideas, these are the dying moments so speak up before I publish the NRB update.

Just a thought, NRT would be CPU only and very memory heavy, maybe bytemaster and Freetrade will come up with a viable implementation.

With the forum already being discussed I can now address some of your questions, it would however be better if they had been posted here. A lot (5 people really) have been asking on NRT, this project is not active. At the moment my sole focus (when i have time) is getting NRB on it's feet and creating it's platform. In support of some of the ideas i have put forward as of early in the new year i will be offering three servers and 5x 2.8 mh/s rigs for hire, payment is in NRB only. Full specs will be uploaded with the pictures once some of the newer stuff arrives.

I am going to create two or three pooled funds NRB, BTC and perhaps LTC that whose addresses will be published and the transactions will be easily verifiable for the community, if i can get that php guy to cooperate, balances and latest transactions will be displayed on a single webpage. The purpose is to fund things like the forum, bounties, games, promotions and development should I need outside help. In an effort to deal with the node issue, i have again purchased an additional 3 small dual core machines that will be permanently online at my residence, workplace and a family members home in South Africa to ensure that people always have something to connect to other than pools and cryptsy.

ok, so i've been quiet but you guys know what's coming. In the mean time, i run around posts a lot and i saw that the MMC 2.0 launch imported coins from other block-chains. i have a feeling this will come in useful as an alternative method of inclusion, also as a means to change algorithm.

Would you guys support joining forces with 10 other coins and changing the algo?

What would this "joining forces" imply for Noirbit? Is there only positive that could possibly come out of it or is there a drawback of some kind?

we'd have to discuss that.

For joining with others.

Here is what i see, I've had four guys ask me to take over their coins, 2 of them are like NRB in that they have their good days.
Users are tired of switching form one coin to the other trying to mine the most profitable. So if we pick out 9 abandoned scrypt coins that are traded and create a block that import all their balance up to a certain block number, allocate a given % of overall supply to each coin....we would have united 10 TRADED coins into one. meaning users need only mine one coin.

This will be optional and attempting to game it by transferring coins after the genesis is built will be pointless. Users can choose to join or continue mining seperately, but once you join, it's a commitment.

The benefits are if a lot of users join, we can have a pretty powerful userbase. By using current exchange rates of the coin we can ensure fair import into the new chain, as a result we can essentially raise the number of coins to become ALL scrypt coins.

A coin of coins.

Introduction of a different algo

Using a new algo means we could possibly make this coin a cpu only coin, which would save us from the advent of the Scrypt ASIC. while others say those are a good thing , i beg to differ, only the guys who got them first with BTC every really made ROI, if it wasnt for the chimese pump, most would have just bought losses.

By ensuring CPU only or CPU and GPU, it stays within range of the average miner. Others complain about botnets and GPU farms, but would you compare their hits versus a ASIC farm?

if say we decide that on block 200k we are changing, then all coins mined after that block will not be valid on the new chain.

This is an interesting idea. Some notes and questions:

1.  What are the technical/progaming challenges in merging several coins ? Presumably they all need to be hashing from same scrypt ?

2.  Do you have sufficient information on the developers with whom you intend to collaborate ?

3.  Would there be an apportionment/entitlement problem with allocation of stakes from old blockchains ?

4.  I assume NRB would act as the senior chain (ie the benchmark coin for number and value), and the others would merge in, if that is the intention ?

Please put me right if I am making any incorrect assumption !

This will be a once off thing, merging the chains by importing is not limited to sCrypt coins. We could literary grab any coin and give it a place in this chain.
I intend to merge only coins that are traded bu have been abandoned by their devs.

The allocation is not an issue, by deciding say we will merge 10 coins.... we simply look at it's value and give it an equivalent portion.  Example:-

we dedicate redeemable 10% of the new chain to coin imports, look at the explanation below.

Say we look at coin X traded at 0.001 BTC each and there are 1000 of them
                            y               0.01  BTC each                     1000 of them
                            z               0.00001 BTC each                 100k of them

coin each unit of y is equivalent to 10 of x and 1k of z, so we allocate the 10% based 1:10:1000 if we were importing those three only.

The math becomes more complicated the more coins involved but it is feasible. unlike the MMC/PTS import that dictated a prie based on dev's opinion, this will be based on actual market price on a given day and publicized so people can pick which coin(s) they wish to hold.

The trade is based on market price not NRB, the option i will give NRB holders is the ability to import into NRB 2.0 which will stick to the spirit i launched NRB in ...i.e no premine, experimental and capable of expansion.

NRB 2.0

While some things are cleared up, it is basically a migration from Scrypt to a new algorith that will be ASIC resistant for the forseeable future, and what makes it seperate from those who opt to join in the sCrypt coin of coins , is that holders automatically own shares in The bank and hosting project i've been talking about. The Original NRB chain is unsuitable for many reasons including the fact that some coins had "disappearing effect" also some individuals hold unhealthy amounts that would constitute a problem for share issuing (You will be mailed actual share certificates on my Birthday....i'm planning to open the hosting side and small shop and trade on that day)

Cool, I like both ideas. So how would opting to change to NRB 2.0 work? Just updating a wallet?

Ok, all updates will be posted here.

you would import the private key of your NRB wallet

So in short you want to implement AES as hash and have the same system as MMC? As a shareholder of NRB i have to ask... are coins converted 1:1? And what will be the specs of the new coin..

Any ETA?

Ok, the actual algo hasn't been decide but AES looks good thus far. As for conversion, no it will probably be a lower ratio. I intend to lower the total supply in a way that makes the share issuing simpler for me. Issuing 50 million share via post would be tough on me. I think bringing it down to 12 million would be great, that way i can mail paper wallets that represent shares to people, and should i manage to get this 3D printer working...i'll begin printing plastic coins with the Bar-code wallets inside.

I agree with AES, its a good algo indeed that puts any ASIC type in the back seat. Also about distribution i have my own thoughts so lets have a chat in the next days and see if we can come up with a proper way to add value to the good name of NRB. ps. i like the idea of joining forces with PTS...

Your plan seems like a great idea Barwizi!

I also like the part about merging some dying coins, but only if the value of NRB 2.0 is something like 85% NRB + 15% total of other coins. Anything higher than that and we'll be diluting all the hard work we did mining NRB until now with a few people who bought a crap-ton of dying coins at ridiculously cheap price in my opinion.

So what does a share in the bank count for? Is that a noirbit coin 2.0 or something that is just available at launch? Also when is your birthday? :P

Love these ideas great job

you are of course right, For NRB 2.0 only NRB can be imported and they will mean a lot. I just need to reduce the sharecount and ensure that no individual especially exchanges, holds too much of a controlling share and can override either my or the group's decisions. As for the merged sCrypt coin, i'll leave it to the NRB community to choose which coins we accept as this is part of the company's projects, as it stands any proceeds made from this will be divided and recorded, the actual payouts will be made once i get someone to design the website and engine I need. The payouts are based on how much NRB 2.0 you hold.

Official Proposal

Barwizi

Version 0.1
=============

Proposal January 2014 (Strategic)

  • Use of a modified Momentum algo to switch from GPU mineable sCrypt to CPU
  • Introduction of PoS of 0.01% per week
  • Exponential decay of mining rewards at 10% every 2100000 Blocks
  • Change of the reward to 100 coins per block
  • Limiting the Cap at 21 million
  • Allowing use of the Voting System to help core team keep afloat financially
  • Maintain Experimental state of coin but introduce securities (Share Certificates) directly tradeable for fiat currency
  • Introduce a share system that equates a holders's wallet balance to a % stake in the ALL VENTURES undertaken by Weiss International Crypto Finanace Division
  • Importation of the current coin of choice for WICFD i.e Noirbits balances to enable stake holders to transfer all holdings to the new chain if they wish to partake in the company business
  • Possible introduction of Post mining proof of stake that will reward those who opt to stay on the Original NRB chain, essentially for every coin year (~262800 blocks) Users with active NRB Bank accounts will  be awarded 60% stake on the coins in their account in the last 10k blocks before coin year passes

  • Exponential decay of mining rewards at 10% every 2100000 Blocks

Why? I never understood this reasoning. By reducing the block reward as time progresses, you are effectively deterring mining. If this coin becomes very successful (which I hope it does), then difficulty will increase. By reducing the block size while difficulty is increasing you are effectively punishing miners. Go look at the network hashrate/difficulty of CGB. See how it dropped like a rock? Guess what, it is because the block reward got chopped in half. No one wants to mine a profitless coin.

Everyone believes that by decreasing block rewards in the future, you are encouraging early adoption now. This is simply not the case. You are not encouraging adoption, you are just encouraging miners to mine now and not mine later. It is as simple as that. The success of a coin is directly related not to the block reward but the coin value, and that is related to its actual utility in the real world. If you can't buy anything with the coin then its valueless.

So instead of following the standard protocol of decreasing block rewards, drop it. Its nonsense. The coin will succeed on the merits of its utility and purchasing power. Not the block reward. Make the block reward constant. Take a look at StableCoin. No need to punish miners which join later.

As a NRB miner and investor. I reject your idea of decreasing block rewards. I think its a giant mistake.

a quick study of economics will assist you. Also, keep in mind that BTC, LTC and other major coins all have a "halving" every so many blocks. Rather than hit miners with shock reductions, gradual reduction is a finer option.

Miners will mine if there is current profit as well as future profit. The price of the coin is one of the main variables determining profitability. That has many ways of rising.

Also, there are a lot of miners looking at medium term considerations... Why did BTC get mined for a year or two when there was no market price at all ?   Not all are short-sighted and greedy for instant money.

Im sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have been mining nrb for a couple days now and my worker has found a few blocks. it's been over 24 hours since the first block was found and yet the 20coin per block found bonus has yet to reach my balance. I thought I read it takes 10 confirms to apply and that happened a long time ago as far as I can see.

Thank you.

I am very excited about NRB!

OMG , that reoder guy is special. Can you believe he just wrote a GPU implementation for MMC!!? Sheesh!!! Oh well, while it does set us back a few days, i have already started looking into modifying the params to raise it's hostility.

At current it does a max of 30h/m on a 7970. Cards with less than 2 gb memory cant use it either. What do you think...should i scarp it and search for another algo, modify the current sCrypt, or modify the MMC algo to make it even more hostlie?

Congrats on getting the banking licence, not sure how difficult that is in Africa but in the US/UK i imagine its pretty difficult.  Anyway how is this whole thing going to work, i really have so many questions, i just dont know where to begin.  I've never known anything like this, it could be good, it could be a complete flop idk but im willing to see it through.  Other people have asked this but I still do not understand how your going to work this out.  So currently i hold around 30,000 NRB on Cryptsy, not an amazing amount but still it was a couple of btc worth not long ago.  In january, how is this going to effect me exactly?  A hard fork, cryptsy trading halted, NRB gets converted into NRB 2.0 and we get 60% of our original coins into NRB 2.0?  We get the choise to go into the new venture or stay on the original NRB chain, so there will be 2 currencies called NRB?  How are you going to let all the holders of NRB know to give them the choice? (forgive the lack of knowledge on this).

If you keep 10k in your account during a coin year , you'll end up with 16k.

Some are suggesting i keep the chains apart to avoid confusion and allow more broad distribution of shares. This will ensure that trading is not halted and current holders and miner can game it for profit.

I am considering all options and community input is vital. Also due to the fact that i am paying for the infrastructure myself, it takes time to put together some of the requirements.

The fact that botnets are cheap these days and with a GPU miner just released why not take the time to come up with another algo or something based on scrypt jane? How hard would it be to combine a cpu algo with a gpu algo and come up with something like quark does but then with gpu cpu combined.. prime jane for example

Thanks for the reply.  What will be the main goal of said bank, what are you going to do with crypto deposits?  I assume you can deposit multiple coins but NRB will be shareholding coins?  Are you going to then make loans based on the crypto deposits?  If so are you going to be operating a fractional reserve system, of what percentage?  How are you proposing to run the bank, ie where does its main profits come from?  What are the overall risks involved?  What is the African governments position on crypto currencies?  Could we see a situation, like in India, a kind of ban and your premises get raided?

Thanks for the reply.  What will be the main goal of said bank, what are you going to do with crypto deposits?  I assume you can deposit multiple coins but NRB will be shareholding coins?  Are you going to then make loans based on the crypto deposits?  If so are you going to be operating a fractional reserve system, of what percentage?  How are you proposing to run the bank, ie where does its main profits come from?  What are the overall risks involved?  What is the African governments position on crypto currencies?  Could we see a situation, like in India, a kind of ban and your premises get raided?

no, i will accept NRB, NRT, BTC, PTS and LTC for the bank. Any other coins would only be after HUGE pressure from voters. The goal is to begin main stream acceptance of crypto currency as well as creating a firm backing that will not plummet with the value of a single fiat. The value stores will be greatly varied. As for fractional reserve, i am looking into the benefits, but for now i was hoping that the bank would be an umbrella that will own other ventures that will generate the capital. Over here i had skeptical response in the beginning but once they understood that i would not be attempting to change their national currency, we got along. There are no guarantees however, you should well know that changes in government = changes in policy. But i am sure if i stay within the legal framework, we'll be fine.

I know you must be super busy but any chance of submitting some sort of detailed white paper, business plan or some sort of confirmed proposal once you've decided what your going to do exactly, i have to keep going back through these pages to figure out what your talking about and i think it keeps changing as time goes on.

Is NRB 2.0 going to be a completely new coin with a new name, NRB 2.0 isn't exactly a catchy name?  Can we trade it or will it be only held by the bank never to be touched/withdrawn/traded etc.?  As to my previous post you mention other coins that you will take in deposit, will they be share holding coins in the bank once submitted, ie if i deposit btc will that mean i get shares in the bank too because they will be converted to the new coin or will they just sit in the bank gaining some sort of interest?  I take it you have abandoned the combining 10 dying coins idea?

Every time i think of 100 questions for you, i write about 5 and forget what else i needed to ask you.  You've certainly got your work cut out for you over the next few months, do you have help or are you doing this all on your own?

nrb.cryptopools.com still has over 700 bonus blocks left so get them while they last.  That's 5 NRB for every block you find.

Happy mining!!

2% pool NO THANKS
I've been scammed by cryptopools plenty enough already

I was mining at 1% Nordic but stopped because nobody is confirming blocks
I thought blocks were confirmed by ANY new block found on NET
But this pool seems to NOT do that..

So what? I need confirm my own found blocks and always be waiting on 100's of coins..

I thought this time and this coin might be worth some hash power but I just wasted 2 days of 6Mh/s and doubt I will even see those  coins..
meanwhile the price is diving fast...

You know what they say

Hey I'm just happy it's a South Africa scamcoin and not American or Russian or Chinese for a change

You really think 2% is a high fee?  Try running a pool yourself for less than that yourself and see if you break even.

A miner not willing to contribute 2% to the pool they are mining at doesn't appreciate the service provided IMHO.

I have compiled a list of the officers in charge of this project. most of my free time has been used working on designing the shares and a new currency. I will import all balances from NRB, I now have the data to back my earlier claims that scrypt coins are done for and the current implementation of hashcash algo is obsolete.

Like any currency ours needs to respond to changes on a global scale, in a manner not easily manipulated by a single entity with the $$$ or politics. My new proposed design further explores the realistic viability of fullscale deployment of a digital currency. To that effect, i am now overwhelmed by some of the work and as a result i need a coder or two to assist with the workload. For those who have seen my work on other forums, i will be implementing a Software license along with this new currency to protect actual investors.

The new skype chat group will be opened midweek for face to face communication. A for the financial and documentation side........WE ARE SET!!!!

With two block chains operating.
Say the NRB block chain continues at the current hash rate.
If NRS grows in popularity and value increases, I assume the value of NRB would increase at the same rate?

Im curious how you presume they affect one another?
What changes are at this moment planned for the NRB block chain if any?
Will NRS have the stats you mentioned in the blackwatch thread regarding the changes to NRB initially.. 12million shares etc?

Sounds like NRB will be riding the coattails of NRS.
It's been a long day, hopefully im not being redundant/plain stupid.

Anti

not at all, your question is valid, but i leave such ideas to the market to decide. Due to the nature of NRS and it's intended use, it cannot be compared to NRB or even BTC. Those two are crypto currencies, NRS on the other hand is crypto-shares. Each NRS represents a share in the company and entitles you to a payout in USD later on when the company begins paying dividends. When a company is formed, it is a requirement that shares be allocated to the owners at the price of $x each, i understand that not all of us are holding BTC and NRB so i have created a fund that will allow using any traded crypto to buy shares.

The total equity has been reduced from 12 million to three million. Simply put, I do not have the time and funds to print and mail 12 million share certificates. while 3 million is just as highly absurd, it may be feasible over time that is why only  150 k will be available to the public at launch, the rest will have to be mined.

So, say you have 2k NRS in the second Quarter after launch and dispersal of initial shares, and the company makes 100k from it's crypto to fiat exchange. If the total shares in existence is 500k then that entitles you to a payout of 500 USD, which will be paid out either as USD or as BTC on top of what you already make from trading your coins. So if you are a good trader, you'll have profit from your trades then as the quarter comes to a close, you'll deposit your proof of ownership. The PoO deposit is then used to calculate what % of the total dividends you will get. Should the company expand and include a mining operation, you would also be entitled to 0.5% of that quarters' total mining proceeds.

After the chain reaches maturity, there will be a vote, either to distribute more shares by raising the equity supply or for the company to buy dedicated hardware to secure the shares.

Check my git for my progress, Noirshares is complete, save for the genesis and a few small additions i want to incorporate. And the Exchange...well, give us two more weeks to find a suitable user interface. Registration will be limited to 100 users since i will be handling the accounting myself. If you have any experience in coding ruby, c++, coffee, perl and haskell  and want to be a part of the movement please pm me. in the mean time please be patient and if you have the resources...i'd suggest stocking up on NRB, it will be the first and only chain traded for USD for a while in order to promote it.

well it is bought every day more than is hashed. it is a matter of time until the price breaks out, yet no one dares. the question is what happens when you start the NRS? up to 1000%, or down to 50%. I hold the winning chances for higher, but that's my opinion. and the diff will then have a stable value, not highly variable

other opinions?

breaks the 0.00006 is away free

I think NRB is due for quite an increase over the next few months.
Once NRS is released and barwizi makes his general plans for the company more transparent, the public with jump all over this coin.
What is the lowest market cap for a coin being traded to USD?
Hell of a lot higher than 100k I'd say.

I am still structuring the tiers of investment, i'll release all the details in advance when i put the Start post and nodes for NRS.

NoirShares-beta (Product of NIG)

NoirShares is the first hybrid Momentum PoS/PoW crypto. Momentum algo has proven qualities which make reduce GPU mining advantages significantly.

The combination momentum Proof of Work with a Proof of stake implementation serves to guard against 51% attacks. 51% attacks are situations where a person or group holds hash power equivalent to 51% or more of total network hash. This allows them to double spend their shares through a first spend then overwritting the valid block chain with their own longer block chain. Proof-of-stake block generation reduces the risk of 51% attacks because the cost of acquiring 51% of all stake would be much higher due to having to buy at least 51% of all shares in existence, that and the cost of acquiring 51% of all mining power makes the cost of attempting and attack prohibitive if not down right imposiible as the price per share will rise as people notice the demand. In some cases other miners and traders will halt sales just to wait out for the highest price, thusly making it even more complicated and nigh impossible to achieve 51% control. In a 51% stake attack the attacker's investment would be directly at risk of losing value. By contrast, with a 51% mining attack on a pure PoW implementation  the attacker would still own the mining hardware which could either be sold or used to mine a different cryptocurrency following the attack.

These measures serve to secure the network also in that users are inclined to keep their nodes online in order to generate stake.

As proof-of-work blocks become less rewarding, coin generation becomes increasingly based on proof-of-stake block generation which in of it's own is energy efficient and requires less resources. Thus protecting the chain from attackers becomes far less expensive.

NoirShares Features and Parameters

Doubles as both currency and equity for the NIG group.

80 shares per block initially

~ 5 million coins will be produced via PoW

5% block reward reduction every 3000 blocks

Minumum Stake age is 7 days, full age 14 days

Tx fees are 0.01 NRS are destroyed in an attempt at aggresively countering inflation due to mining and stake

As the chain progresses and transitions to relying more on PoS blocks, it becomes highly energy efficient in comparison to pure PoW coins. This weaning of reliance on high powered machines encourages the average user to be able to have a functioning node that if used properly can be profitable.

Launch date estimate --- 15/02/14

NIG needs a CMO stat.

The CMO's duties are as follows:-

Publicity and Marketing strategy and implementations
Management of NIG profiles on Social media, keeping it updated with the latest news.
Co-ordination with Web team from Development on advertising Campaigns
Management and posting of new and existing threads for the NIG
Gauging and relaying market interests to the COO for research and possible adoption

As the everyday figure of the company you become responsible for our image, from the very basics such as Icons and catch phrases  to having interviews and attending conferences. In some cases you may be asked to write small speeches for the CEO or the Chairman for events in the year. You are responsible for the company's event calender albeit most of the events are online. Among your responsibility is the production of pamphlets and infograms that make it easier for the average individual to understand what it is the company does, running FAQ threads and answering non technical questions.

As we are a start up, the CMO is the only employee for this department until such time that the board of advisers deems necessary to engage more employees who will work under you in that department.

The terms of employment are subject to review every month, at the beginning of each month you are tasked with weekly and monthly targets. At the end of the month your work is reviewed and your contract terminated or extended as necessary. This system will be in place until a solid worker is found and at such time the review periods will become less frequent.

One of the first responsibilities  you will have is draft the Public release notes for NoirShares and the Noir Fund explaining the mechanics behind it, the goals and milestones.

Application is via public post where you list your credentials and links to your previous works, they need not be personal details, if you have done such a job or similar then links to that will suffice, links to your previous activities on other forums is a definite plus.

Noirbits version v2.2.5.0-unkNoirbits

Cryptsy here is not to blame. Because coins received in the wallet. Coins await confirmation of the transaction on the network.
And I have a new blockchain. Until yesterday I did not have a NRB wallet.
Do I have the correct version of the wallet v2.2.5.0-unkNoirbits?
I took it here:

And someone tell me, what is your last block right now?

Thank you!

1 of two things, corrupt wallet or blockchain. try redownloading the chain and importing your privkey into a new wallet.

What is the privkey? Is it wallet.dat?

Once I corrected the situation by redownloading the chain. But the situation is repeated again. I do not want to redownload every week the chain again. Can you please help me transfer my coins in to my account on Cryptsy if I send you my wallet.dat?

Hi again, barwizi!

Can you help me invest these coins in your new project? What do I need to do?

Now that NRS is functional and established, i would like to move NRB to mom PoW/PoS as well, the mining period will be short. your existing NRB will be absorbed and scaled, representing a third of the chain, the other third goes to NG and the last shall be mined out over  6 months. Once this is complete we move to PoS system, and after reading the VelPoS paper i am inclined to think of it as a most suitable candidate. The NG team will be on call anytime you need information.
