It's been more than 10 hours from the start of the transaction and we have had 325 confirmations. Below are the proof! This is the
second email that I send to you, but you do not answer me. If you fail to act and solve this problem, I shall explain you in different

That's called tumbling and bter.com would not scam someone over $150. Be patient.

I have the same problem. Moved from btc-e to bter but in my case it's 4 bitcoin. What is "tumbling"?

The problem is that after the deposit to the BTER deposit address, it got sent to two other addresses from there (seen on blockchain explorer). That's what worries me.

That's common with hosted/shared wallets. You'll notice the same thing happen if you send it to a blockchain.info wallet as well. Did your coins finally arrive?

I am having the same issue with BTER, but with a different coin. Out of 15 deposits, 5 have not been credited. On some of them I've noticed they momentarily appear in the list as "Processing" but then they disappear a few minutes later. So it's not just that I did something silly like send to the wrong address... something at bter is voiding the deposit after the fact.

These M.I.A. deposit transaction show at multiple points in the network, with hundreds or thousands of confirmations, so they do not appear to be invalid.

I emailed support nearly 3 days ago but they have not responded.

BTER.com also scammed me. I made a deposit in the amount of 466.59142 freicoins to my deposit address 15RUoBa9HjLENtPVs9rMw3bKoQk8NPayTp with a transaction ID of eb8a8f8e3a03bf193e45b0b0ef602fc253d3a8265fcd9ff6cd11771295875ad1 but the projected deposit was only 400.9954 freicoins, and I only had 400 FRC after the deposit actually went through. I understand there is a demurrage of something like 0.0017% per block found, but this shouldnt account for about 66 missing coins, almost 15%. Why are so many coins missing from my depsoit? They're probably a scam. I withdrew all my freicoins form them because they were probably going to scam me again with missing bitcoins.

I suspect bter.com is under a dns poisoning attack. Don't follow the instructions listed at the top unless you are pinging to something else.

Or best, don't use the service at all.

ping cn.bter.com
Pinging cn.bter.com.h1.aqb.so [106.187.40.74] with 32 bytes of data:
Goes to some server with a somalia rerouting address. This is probably some hacker in Africa... Then it routes to a Linode server in Japan which is very suspicious.

ping bter.com
Pinging bter.com [199.83.134.106] with 32 bytes of data:
Goes to an Incapsula server in the United States and looks sort of reputable but I can't be sure as I don't know the history of the domain.

I believe the hacker has only managed to deface the main website and created a subdomain.

So far I've been able to withdraw BTC through the main website bter.com, and as of now it is pending, but don't take my word as gospel. As I might have been too fast for the hacker to remove my money even though my password and fund password may have already been captured.

you mean that actually bter is legit but someone is trying to hack it right now? If yes that means we shouldnt withdraw right now?

or it means that bter is actually not legit? i am not sure i understood.

yeah right, it's a hacker... Um no! You do not know what is going on here and it seems like your doing damage control. I might as well just say this is a scam stop trying to cover  for something like this.  100% SCAM TELL THE WORLD. (regardless of a ghost phantom hacker thing)

I'm sticking on the post, do not make things up like hackers or some other garbage without knowing anything. The site owner could be bouncing, stealing ripping people off and now maybe a hacker?  no BS please

Yes, so let the people use their common sense.

There are legitimate reasons why someone would have the setup you have described.

I know what I'm writing. I only write the facts, you can make up some bs and frame it on bter if you like, but without an official statement, you would never know. I might as well say bitcointalk is a scam too when the man in the middle attack happened. How do you know that wasn't orchestrated?

Same here. In my case more than 2 BTC. I'm really worried about it. I've sent a ticket and support told me they made the deposit, but it still doesn't appear. I see the direction and it's been deposited in 2 other addresses...

I've had no issues withdrawing btc or sending deposits in the past. After all of these threads started popping up, I decided to try today. I deposited 4.1 xpm. I already had datacoin on the exchange so I traded that immediately without any issues. The xpm deposit took around 10mins to appear on my account after it was fully confirmed in my wallet. Once it appeared, I traded it straight a way, yet again without any issues. So once everything was in Bitcoin, I withdraw from BTER. The withdrawal took somewhere between 10-20mins to process and once it did process the funds appeared in my local wallet after the usual 6 confirms.

I transferred 3500 CNC when btc-e delisted it. It showed up in my bter account as pending a few weeks, and then it was gone.
Then i forgot about it. Found them in the block explorer with around 50k confirmations, and started sending bter emails regarding this in late october. No answer... many emails later i atatched screenshots of the transfer from btc-e and the block explorer. Still no answer..
But then suddenly, on december 12th,  the coins had moved on. But no CNC in my bter account, and still no answer from support or admin.

Now it has been 1/2 year, and still nothing. So is bter scamming people? Short answer.. YES!

They are scamming TONS of people we have 19 reports of it and nearly all the stories sound fairly the same as to how they are getting scammed.

Bumping this up.  I've been trying since the end of December to reset my fund password to withdraw some DOGE and no reset emails, no reply from support, nothing.  At least I'm not alone here.   >:(  What jerks :-\  I'll really be PO'd if DOGE takes off during the year and gains real value.

I've been using them for about a week now (I hadn't seen this thread before) and have had a fair amount go through them to be exchanged for BTC. I've traded over 1mil DOGE, 2000 DGC and 5 LTC, all were very quick and easy other than one DOGE sale which was purely my own fault - I wanted to make sure the trade happened quickly so I tried selling for about 0.95x the value but incorrectly set the amount as 9.5x the value.

Can we see some success stories here? If there are a lot of people doing large trades without issue and some doing small trades and having issues I'd be inclined to say it's a bug rather than scam?

DO NOT trade at bter.com. Sooner or later you WILL loose something there.
Also remember this. IF or when something happens, they will NOT help you or answer your emails.

And i want to add another ting to my last post. When my coins moved on, bter schanged the CNC adress in my account.
So there is no bug, they are stealing.

Added them to out thread of warning sites and coins :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=411671.0

My own personal BTC deposit at BTER is missing all day now. They have no support section
just an e-mail address.

I never had an issue with them before but it sounds like they are having issues today.

We will remove them from the warning page if the issues are resolved for me and everyone else today.

You can carve that varning in stone. They have not managed to fix my issue in almost 200days, so don`t get your hopes up.

I am going to get everyone that they have ever screwed over together. Or at least help point everyone in
the right direction to get them to lose 50% or more of their business. I have access to chinese translation
and can get the reports to China.

Just want to see if they will fix the problem first. I will give them the chance. It's not fair to wreck a company
unless they are truly scamming everyone. Then it's war.

I'll do this all day long...

There are so many issues. Mostly missing deposits.

But does anybody know what happened to CNC december 13th? This is the day my CNC dissappeard. There might be a reason...

have been fixed within the hour. I quikly got an answer back, that the case is beeing prosessed. But now
it has been another week, and absolutly NOTHING has happened.

Hi,

I read a lot of complaints about Bter. Actually I signed up for first time with them around 2 weeks ago, made 2 deposits, in NXT and BTC, and no one of them appeared. I tought I am scammed also becuase I got no reply on mail. However, few hours later, an email appeared in my mailbox, asking if the deposit problem is resolved. Also my money appeared there and I was able to withdraw them without any problems. Seems like Bter were samming people a lot in the past but recently they changed their strategy as they want to be promoted more wildely and they count on their reputation. I was amazed to get a very polite mail by them in English, and even they gave a skype. I strongly sugest you to contact them again and ask for your issue to be resolved. I am almost sure you will succceed now, please, try on their email  support@bter.com or skype: bter1 bter1
Good luck and please let me know if you have any success!

P.S. Not sure if that played a role, but few hours after my deposits not showing up, I decided to make a small try and made a second microdeposit for extreamly small amount - 6 NXT, being far less than a cent. After that my money appeared and I got reply than them :)

So they have just set up an automatic reply system. My coins is still lost, and have been sice last summer...

you do know that bter has thousands of statisfied customers right?

I can't explain what happend on those deposits that lead to scam alligations, but i guess an error rate of 0.X% is okaish, seams about the amount that btc-e has. That site isnt flagged as scam..

You have to remember that 99% of all issues at BTC-e was related to USD deposits, and they comunicated with their customers about the issues they where having. And most of them are solved after some time.

bter.com on the other hand, is NOT comunicating AT ALL. (besides from a few automated replies) And we all have proof of what they have done.
And if they where innocent, they would have fixed it by now. And a (so far) 7monts of waiting for an answer is just not acceptable!

Just a precaution you guys BTER has IGNORED MANY MANY reuqests for lost coins of different crypto! (Check the forums around here) I sent an inquiry about topping up my withdraw limit and they responded immediately! but now I lost 100'000.00 NXT due to a bug in thier system and they NEVER replied for a long time now, BE CAREFUL, be ERY CAREFUL it is not a new thing for them to behave like this!

exacts of thier bug:

2 withdraws with the same TxID, this will result with only ONE being sent to the network instead of two.

I have an account on bter.com also.

BUT i never transfered any coins to them. I checked the listed coins and found out that some coins are traded like +15% of what the coins is worth on cryptsy and coins-e.com
This rly confused me, and so i didnt send any coins. But what i did, was openening a ticket asking if they are planning to add coins "xyz". They replied withint 3 days (not fast, but ok for me because i didn't have any problems) saying that they are not.

I am tradeing on Cryptsy and Coins-e.
I had some problems with cryptsy deposits takeing 1-3 days (also not acceptable, but BigVern posted on twitter that there have been some problems and that he is trying to fix it) but now it's most likely fine. Still not fast, but ok.

On the other hand, i am useing Coins-e.com the same time as i am useing cryptsy, and i have to say: I didn't have any problems on coins-e.com yet, and i have more than 250 trades there. If a deposit isn't showing up, u can simply enter ur Transaction ID into "Deposit didn't show up" under the support section, and tada: Coins are depositet DIRECTLY after they have the minimum amount of confirmations.

So if you guys didn't try coins-e.com yet, you could give it a try. I am not working there and i don't know the owner. It's just that i have rly no negative experience with coins-e.com also the support is very friendly (i asked sth. about dogecoin wallet update and if they are planning on include TIPS on their exchange).

If you want to give it a try, i would be happy when u could use my referal link :-)

BTER.com is a scam! I moved LTC to them and when I went to withdraw it asks for a fund password which is never asked when you signup. I tried multiple times to receive this so called fund password and I didn't get anything. There's no way to change your email and if they decide to just ignore you, your money is gone. Hi guys
Just wanted to share my experince with Bter.com as i see many people have or have had problems with funds on Bter.com. For the last 2 weeks i have been using Bter.com to trade YAC, i have made 8 total deposits, 4 of the deopsits showed up in incomming transactions but then suddenly dissapered?? I was like hmm whats going on? Ohh well the network is probably just slow to confirm my transactions i thought but after 1-1½ days of waiting and 1500+ confirmations still nothing to see in my account so i decided to try and contact them by mail in english support@bter.com after a days of waiting i got a reply from them and my funds was in my account :D so all is good as they fixed it for me. But having to contact them 2 times within 5 days becouse of 4 missing deposits is just not viable to me even tho they fixed the problem quite fast compared to other not so lucky people. My advice to people not getting an answer from them by mail, try and click the chinese flag and click the QQ service, you can chat with them using google translate(some have had sucess with this)

I was looking for an exchange to trade doge on and tried to sign up at http://bter.com after following that link from coinotron, site has issues I would guess as it wouldn't accept the passwords I gave it to create an account but sort of logged me in anyway without even creating an account! ???

http://bter.com/article/11 <-- on this page under the About section it lists some bitcointalk IDs of the creators, I was looking at the trading program and noticed them.

My decision now is not to touch them with a ten foot pole after the initial signup fail.

You can use Vircurex now to trade Dogecoin, but wait for Doge to be added on mcxNow which is much faster and more secure than any other exchange.

McxNow is the best. No other place allows you to earn interest on your balances. I'll never go back to BTER. If pet is two words, make sht up!

Bter.com sucks...
I made a small FLT deposit to Bter to see if it works, but it's already 3 days now and still nothiing comming in to my account.
The months before I also had this problem but that was "only" a few ours delay.
I also send Bter support a ticket the same day but I am also waiting for more than 3 days now to get a respons from them.
Ofcourse I have send them a new ticket yesterday but it's already 10 hiours now and still nothing...
Something wrong with Bter? The new MtGOX or are they on holiday :-(
Last time I did business with them, because this is really unacceptable.

It also looks like FLT page is not active, see https://bter.com/ref/135224 (https://bter.com/ref/135224)

They also stole my coins today, and it looks like it never "hit" my account in what i could see, but block chain shows it hit and then also moved on to a high volume account which is probably their own.  anyone have success resolving any of this with them?

I have my funds now, it was a problem with the FLT wallet it looks like.
Trading of the FLT is working again, see: https://bter.com/ref/135224 (https://bter.com/ref/135224)
It would have been nice if they had put a notification on their website or replied my support ticket.

BTER.com is a scam! I moved LTC to them and when I went to withdraw it asks for a fund password which is never asked when you signup. I tried multiple times to receive this so called fund password and I didn't get anything. There's no way to change your email and if they decide to just ignore you, your money is gone. Avoid at all cost.

There is actually a separate "fund password" that you need to use for withdrawing funds, you set it up I think when you make your account. Took my a few tries until I figured it out too.

I have been using bter for a few days now, BTC deposit appeared after not even 1 minute of sending it there. Withdrawal has also been fine so far, fast and prompt. So far, no complaints.

Apparently according to there website they have "Apparently" been hacked!!!

What is with all of these companies claiming to be hacked to steal peoples coins?

Their BTC/USD trading has been down for a while. Maybe just I couldn't use it for some reason?

I have withdrawn my funds to trade elsewhere. I received my funds quickly, no issues. I'm satisfied.

EDIT: I just checked the site to see what was going on there. It is down..Well I guess I should be happy.

No that's not the funniest part, the funniest part is the fact that its yet another Chinese market and apparently every Chinese market has been shutdown and or hacked until now.

Just an easy way out for them in my eyes.

The BitCoin association needs to ban all Markets from trading with BitCoin in China.

There aren't rules for the various exchanges, so it could be an hack attack or an "inside job" or everything. Now I hope the people will stop to keep their "coins" on an exchange ( here the service discussion : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=956738.0).

Depends how big of a chunk that was regarding their trading volume.

I'd say that based on past experience, it's probably closer to end of business. (MtGox and various online wallets. Robbed once, business over.)
7000 BTC at ~230 USD/BTC is around 1.6 million USD.

Well anyway, if it wasn't gone then, it would have probably gone now...

I thought this was a scam accusation saying Bter stole its customers 7k Bitcoin, lol.

When will anyone every realize, it was done from the inside the same with all the other Chinese Exchanges. Just because they transferred all of that bitcoin doesn't mean they don't have greater or equal value in altcoins that they are able to take off with. By diverting everyone attention to the "Missing" bitcoin nobody is asking or demanding for there altcoin back.

Pretty smart ide say but it seems this is how they all went down.

If they were genuinely hacked they would have managed to find a way to open the system back up to allow for the transfer of whatever coins are left.

I was actually considering to move a large chunk of (my small amount of) coins there to receive interest at lest. In the end I have decided a day or maybe only a few hours before the happening that I would rather trade with my coins somewhere else where I can follow the market better.

Makes sense what you are saying if indeed they did it.

On the other hand imagine you have a company and you get robbed and you lose a lot of money. Do you open next day to allow your clients to take out even more money from your company so you got out of business for sure? Investigation, damage assessment etc takes a lot of time.

If a bank gets robbed I couldn't imagine they open the next day so you can take out the remainder of your money. (don't really know about this, so not claiming, just an assumption)

A bank is insured, a cryptoCurrency exchange is not insured. This is the real problem, so the solution is (as we always knew) not keep your money/coins on an exchange (maybe only if they are using multiSig and they are "honest").

If an exchange get robbed it should reimburse but it isn't "obligated" and of course it will lost a lot of customers.

According to there twitter feed they are rebuilding the backend so they can re open trading. I would assume this is so they can try to re coop there losses and pay out what is owed!

That has not taken them long has it?  I am not sure how well that will work because how many people are going to continue to use after the crap that has happened the last few months, it is not trusted it has terrible customer service and a lack of security looking after it's customers. They need to pay what they can and close up shop.  :-\

I agree and I to have a large amount of crypto currency in there I would like out! But what I think is funny is if you look at the trading platform it never stopped. All trades are still active...

As long as I can cash out of there soon they can do whatever they want im just out when im out!

I doubt that will happen. This is the second time it is happening, and people will leave them for sure. There is no way they will be able to recoup all the lost coins.
Its just excuses to restart the exchange

I suspect bter.com is under a dns poisoning attack. Don't follow the instructions listed at the top unless you are pinging to something else.

Hello dear,

No is not, this is 100% SCAM and you know it, so please stop saying that is under attack because is not.

There's still some value left in the business, but to generate the amount stolen solely through future trading fees is unlikely to happen.

Vircurex continued operating after a theft using a fractional reserve system - the sum total of customer's balances was not actually 100% backed by real BTC - but that all fell to pieces around a year ago, when some customers did large withdrawals and depleted all "real" funds in the exchange's wallet. At that point they froze balances for BTC and a few alts, then started a convoluted payback system. It didn't work well: at the start, it was returning less than 1% of customer's frozen balances each month, and after about 6 months of dwindling payments they stopped completely. They have not paid back any funds since August 2014.

I wonder if BTER is going to try doing fractional reserve (pretending there's no problem until a bank run forces their hand) or they're going to freeze balances from the start. Either way, it's not looking good in the long term.

And again, they have stolen 1% of every depos stored on exchange.
My case is worse, they do not answer tickets nor withdraw 1850 XMR (2.4 BTC)

This week Bter says some of its user's accounts from outside of China have been reported stolen, and the money in them is gone. You can deposit, but if your account gets stolen you can't withdraw because whoever stole your account will withdraw your money.

I will advise that send any coins to this "exchange" is an high risk!
There was at least 3 "hack" and they doesn't have repaid any funds (despite they promise to do that).
I lost some btc (0.04-0.05) and even they promise and promise "to give back" I don't see a satoshi in more than 2 years!
