In my opinion this will scare any newcomers and existing participants of this market space!
A lot of damage has been done!
Just about every chart analyst didn’t see this!

Fake news are affecting crypto industry a lot. I think people shouldn't always believe what is said in media because they can influence human a lot. Eveyone should judge by knowing proper news. Like now crypto industry is recovering and the media is spreading rumors which will affet this industry a lot. But i believe those who really know cryptocurrency and know its potential they will ignore such news.

The media always likes to spread false news about cryptocurrencies. I can see several fake messages about cryptocurrencies almost every day. I don’t even bother reading those news.

Unfortunately it creates a lot of uncertainty!

The market is still fragile, so FUD has a big impact on the market.
Then I hope to reduce some FUD, so the bull market will really come.

Media always spread lots of news about cryptocurrency existence but some of articles they spread are fake and some beginners will quickly believe because of lack of knowledge and they dont really understand how crypto work.

First here on this forum we are seeing big whales and people against the cryptos influencing the People on this forum to spread fake information in this forum itself.
I really looking to find the bitcoin and see the other coins have potential grow better in the market. Mostly those coins only getting trolled in this forum. I see many people showing ripple in the media side.
I do not know why hoiste the flag for shit centralised coin mate.

I am a crypto FAN and the FUD also pisses me off.

Yes, not all news needs to be believed. They need to be filtered, studied. Even the bad media has some truth. It all depends on the person who does it, how much he is a multi-personality.

That is why whenever there is a new news in the crypto industry whether good or bad we should always evaluate its credibility as sopecially to newcomers and potential investors as they are easily and quickly to get swayed by such news. This type of news is one of they ways pump and dump groups along with manipulative whales do to influence people to either get hyped or to panic sell, that is why it is important to always evaluate every news and check every sources to check its credibility.

Its already dumped far enough tbh. All the dumb money should be almost out of the scene.

There is no doubt about that Market recover eventually whether it takes weeks or months. Newcomers sell when there is panic whereas seasoned trader buys during the down times.

Every movement in the crypto markets is becoming an impact from the latest news about the crypto environment. I think it will not as long as the newcomers will try to learn more and more. This just a common thing right now. If you were including on early adopters of crypto and the crypto fight against China is even worse than this one.

yes dump can affect many people and make its afraid, but for me it should not be afraid and do not have to believe in what is spread by the media, we need to be positive continue to cryptocurrency with now in know price is enough and start to increase.

Only those who are new in Crypto but for the experience one this dump are normal for them it hasn't been long since the pump up from 6k+ to almost 10k. normally this should happen because we are not seeing the whales has make their move.

I'm never scared of dumps, it's rather a good time to acumulate more coins and tokens. If you look on the long-term chart, you will see that the market has always recovered after dumps.

This correction has been expected by many. The media as always covers crypto positively when the prices are rising, and vice versa when the markets are falling. This is just how the crypto market/ecosystem works.

The HODLERS(Like me) will continue HODLING no matter what since I am interested in the long term prospects of the coins and tokens in my portfolio. It was much hyped and it badly needed a correction. The market always behaves this way. The huge investors advertise the product after keeping a good stock for themselves and dump it back to new investors. But holding would never let you down. It's been proved for centuries.

You have a point, crypto market situation is like a wheel basically the presence of pump and dump is always there.  To be able to handle dump market you have to be patient and be wise enough to hold and of course when its dump mostly the coin has its best price.  For newbie you just need to learn everything for you to be aware and don't be scared to lost some money or experienced scam afterall with the bad experience you will become more conscious, eager and persistent to become more profitable and successful crypto trader.

Here we are in May and almost halfway through the year and so far we are still struggling to break free from the Bear market. We are over the worst levels experienced in late March early April but every time Bitcoin makes an approach to $10,000 it gets knocked back.

I agree with you because the media is very much doing data manipulation just to get the sympathy or attention of the people who are in the crypto world so that the news will become viral and maybe the media will benefit. But not a few media that preach real information

The media reports some bad news all the time and sadly this affects the market. The serious investors are following the mt gox wallets and as soon as they move a few thousand bitcoins they dump everything, then everyone else follows. Hopefully it will recover next week, can't have another bear market at this stage.

Fuds and Fomo are common in the crypto market. It is bad but unavoidable.

When a person invested 10k $ and the next morning they turned into 8k $, I think a little frustrating. Especially when the lost 2k $ is a lot of money in your country.

sometimes that is how the market work, the high volatiles chart are just a little bit scare some people. but this is are the effect of the decentralized market system IMO. this years honestly not a very good start for cryptocurency industry, there are lot of fud and bad news arround it.

Actually not everybody can believe such a fake news, for those that understand cryptos market the news spread will be ignored, this has been affecting new members joining cryptocurrency in such a way that they could not stand they way market is going down they rather leave cryptos, which is not supposed to be, I believe the market will surge soon than how it goes before.

The fall over the last few days is quite small really. It's nothing next to the drop we saw earlier in the year. There is no reason to panic at all, prices can't go up all the time - if they do, then we get the sort of chaos we saw in Jan/Feb. Personally I am quite happy with a small price drop, it helps to establish a base point for future rises.

The media personnels are not traders and they don't know what goes on in the bitcoins trading community, if you keep listening to negative news, you will panic sell. This is not dump and no damage will it cause. Is just part of everyday volatility bitcoins passes through. It will surely prevail.

Well just as well all understand that this dump is quite normal and of course those people who's new to the market will understand first how it works. I think for as long s they get to understand the circulation they'll be able to grasp how big of an opportunity they have in the crypto.

Anyone who want to jump in to crypto market should be have some knowledge about risk management and technical or fundamental analysis, they should be know crypto has very high fluctuacion that will make big loss or possible to get huge profit in short times, there are many people not ready for that, and finally they get lose and left the crypto . Also important to use money that afford to lose, people should be understand every risk when jump in to crypto.

It's cyclical. Bull -> Bear -> Bull -> Bear -> Bull -> Bear. At the end of the day it's mainstream coverage of crypto/blockchain, which means people are definitely noticing and taking interest.

Good point. Technical analysis tends to help sometimes, but is not always accurate due to the extremely volatile nature of this cryptocurrency market. This particular whale will continue to offload his BTC at regular intervals which will obviously continue to hurt the market which is something we have known for quite sometime and have been prepared for. This is a regular dumping strategy being employed by a whale which is nothing new. If investors are getting scared off by such dumps, they must have not done enough research about this volatile cryptocurrency market. Let the weak hands go.

This is a normal correction, not the crash like three months ago, that kind of correction that will scare people to enter this space, not this kind of small price movement as it is something that happens a lot even in stocks. There's no way that the price will keep increasing, it needs to go down a little before going up again. I am quite amazed that there's a lot of people that act like it's the end at every little market correction. Also chart isn't always right, it helps but you can't expect every analysis to be correct.

i don't think what media says is scaring anyone away, it may make them dump but not make them go away. on the other hand the pumps and dumps that all these altcoins have will surely scare a lot of the investors away and push them towards bitcoin more. because everyone will eventually see that the altcoins which they were bag holding get dumped at some point but in the end they will see bitcoin is still rising despite all the drama that it has. which means they will eventually give altcoins up and go back to bitcoin only.

For experienced traders and holders, a dump is just an occasional scene in bitcoin so it will not really scare a lot of people from crypto. There are more holders now because I believe that those who panicked when btc was in $6k are gone now.

Let's not pretend that bitcoin is immune to pumps and dumps. Perhaps it's not always as common due to better liquidity, but it's hardly immune to dumps -- as we just witnessed with the Mt. Gox Whale.

And as btc goes, the market goes. Many altcoins rose at the same, or quite often higher rate than btc did during last year's rise. Sure, some really junky alts may get dumped to smithereens, but it's not like folks will rush back into btc only. There is hardly a reason to if some alts go up at an even higher rate.

These newbies in cryptoverse should've known the risks involved in investing before they put their funds in. The mistakes that they've done by panic selling or being scared because of the dump is the best lesson they can learn. The volatility of crypto market is very evident and investing during high times could really make things worse for them in a short period of time but for long term, they have nothing to fear if they really believe about the potential of crypto currencies to revolutionize the system in the future.

The dump is not that much compared to what we had some months back. If you can't afford to see a deep of more than 50% in your portfolio, then you better stay off cryptocurrency.

That is the thing about bitcoin and cryptos and that is the reason that so many people refuse to invest in it. It is way too volatile. And while a lot of people including myself appreciate a bit of volatility in an asset, there is just no telling what is happening in bitcoin. One day you are seeing a good recovery uptrend and the next day you are seeing a $1000 drop in prices. It's too much.

Well, a little dump scares the weak hands. And we dont need weak hands here. They pull down the price even more. A little fud, a little fake news, they panic and sell everything. We need people strong enough to know that this too shall pass. Bitcoin has encountered so many things and at the end of it all, it manages to rise back from every fall. So there's really no need to scramble every little decline in price the market will face.

The negative issues coming from the social media and FUD are the reason why bitcoins are rapidly down in terms of prices. In what happened in the bitcoin now are many people are now afraid investing in bitcoin because of the price of the bitcoin goes down and they think that their investment goes nothing. As we can see still the bitcoin price at the stage of the low. Hopefully in the long run it will rise again.

Strangely enough, but true. Any bad news, whether real or fictitious, is bad for the market. And at the beginning of the year such news was enough.

There is no way that we can deny this thing that the time of dump is the hardest time to bear and that during that time, most of the people fail to hold their nerves which then result in loss of their money and that because of which, they also get dishearten. People interested in crypto will do research on the history of cryptocurrency or bitcoin in the past, and probably will not be afraid of the current situation. But people who are anti-crypto will say, look! what i said. And people like us, will take the opportunity to buy more.

Many people are creating news that is not true for the crypto market. They do so to discourage many investors and sell off all the coins they own. This is the opportunity to buy at low prices of bad people

Don't give credit to fake news. There are only a handful of trustable news source for cryptocurrency even a source who is known for being trustable can fuck up a story about cryptocurrecny bacause most of them don't really understand it.

We must be realistic, healthy market capitalization is proportional to the number of communities. And if the market grows too fast, then it's just a matter of when big correction will happen. But I think cryptocurrency is too interesting to be afraid of.

A fud will not last forever, and when viewed from the peak of the price of each altcoin, perhaps this is a hidden blessing, and a chance to buy because the price is very cheap.

I think there is a group that is optimistic about pessimistic Criptocurrency. And some people who are afraid to go into crypto may have the same problem with investing in general, or do not believe in legality.

This media has distributed a false news about cryptos so that many people get scared to invest their money in cryptos. And also the group of big whales who likes to manipulate the price of cryptos. And talking about the price dumping, it is actually normal, and when price down, it is another big opportunity to those big investors to invest more capital, so dumping crypto price is not actually scared, because it will pump again even only for a few hours or several days.

The newcomers should be aware of the Media Manipulation. The latter plays a major role  into turning the public point of views, not to mention that it is against the cryptocurrency because it is with the government. Added to that statement, no one should believe what the media says, so I believe there will not be any fear unless they are stupid and believe anything they said to them. I think scaring away the newcomers is not something that we can cry about. After all it is the newcomers who quickly panick when BTC hits bad times (dips) so we dont need them either. The hardcore cryptoz will sail through for there are good times ahead. Cryptocurrency is here to stay guys nomatter what the media can say and how much resstance it will face from governments, actually I think this resistance will actually encourage stiff decentralisation mechanics.

Probably this will surely scare people, but when you are a true holder and not a weak hands it was just a some sort of FUD. I can say that it is another part of price manipulation so that other investors (whale) can enter with a low price. Better hold your assets and just ride with the price change.

People who came here on the wave of and Bitcoin rally, leave this market. This is pointless and we should not be bothered. The market has grown over the past few months, if counted from October and November till today. He grew up not so much in terms of capitalization, but in the fact that there are new projects that may be of interest to users in the future. Now one of such projects is Remme. This market has a lot of growing up to do: many cryptos are manipulated and many Coins are worthless and will never achieve anything! This market trades on hype.

The dump coin prices, everytime and everywhere, will make some people feel scared of losing their amounts. Honestly, it is unfortunate that many users of cryptocurrencies are very  pessimistic and scared by the sudden and unexpected changes in the market. In addition to that, the capitalists (who have a large proportion value of cryptocurrencies especially Bitcoin) control the whole market (Such as, what is happening in this period, sell a large proportion of their money) to ensure a huge profit after some period and even influence the media through some rumors in order to achieve their interests (Long-term profit).

In fact, I do not think that this widespread crisis or drop will continue on a long term, maybe it will last just for a few days or a week, and after that, there will be a good jump especially if Bitcoin will rise between 10K and 12K because the whole market is linked or related to BTC. Market moves on many factors its not just move according to the charts only. Demand, Supply and News also plays major role in the market movement. A positive news boost up the market sometime on the other hand a negative news drags the market down sometime. So we can't say charts decide the market move. Dump will scarce only those who are here for quick money and this market is not for them. Holders will stand firm whether market drops hard because they believe in crypto currency potential. In addition most of the coins are based on hype and have no commercial value and don’t make money!

This present situation of the crypto market is not that much good as it should be and that their ae investors who are not happy with the way these crypto currencies are behaving now-a-days but the thing is there is no such need to be worried about and that you need not fear anything. Yes the big dump of crypto make many newcomer loss their money in big money, and they scared to jump in to crypto more, that why many people out from crypto and this make total marketcap of crypto decreased up to 50%. On january a few month ago the total market cap more than $ 700 Billion, but now decreased to $380 Bn, so that mean alot of people out from cypto and withdraw their money in to fiat that finally make all crypto also down. But compare with stock market, crypto just very small market , can be by regulated crypto and other good news, its will make more demand.

Probably most will be more careful, and few consider it an opportunity.

Those ones, which know for sure that this is not even the dump but something very usual, will be left. I am sure, professional traders and investors know how to find pros even in the situation when the cryptos are down.

It has been already. Many people involved in the crypto are so scared and they are so panic with the market bearish every time. We cannot predict what will happen to the market after this. This is true. It is evident that these rashes and panic driven actions contributed to the drop. It is the same like with any new coin, it has to have the support of the community. And the community is giving up on BTC these days. Which seems ridiculous to me, I can't understand people that are getting rid of their coins at 3.5k and even less.

I think it indeed does, but it doesn't mean they and many others will not return once things go great again. Chances are they jump in when btc is nearing new heights again. Plus it was only a small percentage, and more regulation will lead to less scams (I hope) so the next wave of new people will probably do so because they feel safe enough to do.

Reading this OP makes me laugh, alot of people will take BTC at $8k now, because that is more than 100% profit, there is no doubt alot of people have left the space disappointed because their hope what dash and lost a lot of money, but these spread across look at Miner, Developer, Investors and Even exchange now have their profit shrink greatly

Well basically people sell, people buy and what you are saying is way out of your control you could not control people to buy and to sell crypto. Wise traders and investors would still benefit even with the current market situation.

Not sure if there will be further price crash but the prices now seem very attractive.

A lot of people massively joined the cryptocurrency last year. They believed that the price will continue to rise, and now very disappointed and think how to repay the loans. A lot of ordinary people and investors stopped believing in cryptocurrency. This is a very cruel blow.

Yeah it happened, look at how crypto prices dropped so much today. you're right this is a natural thing in crypto, we have experienced this condition a number of times, and I think many of you have to learn from the experience of a few years ago where this condition happened and then the price improved again right ?

I also think so that now there are many newcomers who are disappointed and don't believe in crypto because the market conditions are getting worse but if they are true crypto lovers now they can use it to buy it because when the crypto price returns it will improve get a lot of profits.

What we need to do (crypto believers) is to not feed the FUD and negativity. We must not stop educating people about the future of Crypto! This is a good time to get people into crypto while it's cheap.

Yes it might scare the ones that really don't know nothing about crypto and also thought this was a way of getting rich quick. I personally don't get scared of situations or market position like this infact if I have more money, I am investing in the market cautiously though cos I know there is no way this market will remain where it's at now. I strongly believe the bulls will run again doesn't matter how late.

Without a large number of new people, another strong growth of the crypto currency will not work, and how they will go here if they see such a frightening drop.

I think its already scare people, its proven by the more declining on it's price because many people doing a panic selling, cause they got affraid if they kept their coins, they will loose more.

For sure more people would quit because of it,
Most of them are the investors when the price is so high or at the ATH.

But through it there are those who have been dumped to take advantage of their failure, the actions that make crypto go down and possibly die (typically bitcoin). And this volatility has serious consequences, but I believe it will recover. Do not give up :'(
