The recent news about Vitalik Buterin considering to leave ETH for Google made me think about the potential aftermath of such situation. Of course, no one takes it seriously now, and neither do I. But what if something like this could really happen? Of course, we can be safe that it will not happen right now, and all of us understand it. But what if one day he really left the team of Ethereum, then would you personally continue supporting this coin? Or you think that ETH will just die without its creator?

Do you watch the news correctly? Vitalik has created a pool and the majority of people were voting to say no about that. But remember ethereum has created by the team and not only vitalik. But vitalik is a very very talented guy with all of his innovative idea about the smartcontract and more innovative idea will come soon. I personally think that will not gonna happen. I still support this platform.

Would be something to watch closely as the news drops. Might be able to take a wack at a price adjustment.

I think it cannot cause any negative aftermath, because at this point in crypto world, an individual is not bigger than a project, the depth and importance of Etherum to every body, every tokens using as smart contract, every trader, every hodler, and every crypto investor is alot, huge and bigger.

I can sense the loss of Vitalik to Google, would make etherum team get even a more prolific personnel as well.

Do you read posts correctly? I mentioned several times that we all understand that it will not happen now and no one takes it seriously, I just wanted to find out how important part of the second largest coin he is in the eyes of the crypto community.
I know he works hand in hand with other team members, but still he is the first (and in most cases the only) team member who cones to one'smind when one thinks of ETH. He's like Freddie Mercury in the Queen, you know.

Do not forget, Vitalik does not mean Ethereum. There is a team behind Ethereum and it does not change much that one person leaves this team. So I would still continue to support.

If this was able to significantly influence the success of a project, that it's inventor took his_her hat and left, it wouldn't be worth it in the first place. You could argue that one of Bitcoins big success stories was how it's creator managed to not bind it's well-being to an existing, addressable person.

For the same reason, fluffypony is fighting tooth and nail to be Monero's "Main dev"/"Spokesperson" or whatever. Having an addressable single person is, if not a single point of failure, at least a single choke point.

I think Ethereum is still going strong without Vitalik though there will be a big impact on its price because Vitalik is the lead developer of Ethereum. But we must not under estimate other developers of Ethereum because even though they are not as popular as Vitalik, I believe they also have a talent.

This is an interesting article, Well mate if i'm going to pick Ethereum and google then i will choose Ethereum platform, You can add alot of token under smartcontracts. Vitalik is smart person he could create a website that is opposite to google. This is an exciting news ahead! Google will make its own blockchain.

I am one of Ethereum fans, Dan Altcoin has been my favorite for a long time. I do not seem to be affected even though the vitalists leave the ethereum, but I do not think so. I will continue to support Ethereum, let alone whatever happens, because I believe this Altcoin will have a very high value in the future. Ethereum is no longer in doubt.

I agree and he is better off with ethereum team than working with google(he will make more earnings that way). Although that is the case, If Vitalik really decided to leave, I don't really care because eth can survive without him IMO(like how btc survived without satoshi) because ethereum, like bitcoin has it's own real world use cases that will surely keep it alive and pumping in the years to come.

If ever Vitalik leave what he made, there is always someone that is ready to do what he left and the same as what Satoshi did to Bitcoin but i don't really know behind the story of it, maybe he is still helping the team to update the core. Anyway, Ethereum can still survive without him but he can still help the team if they want him.

If vitalik left ethereum, then it will mean that the price will go up to the moon, take in consideration that ethereum is printing more than a hundred eth's everyday, more if i am not wrong.

Once Satoshi left bitcoin, I think that bitcoin just won. It's bad when it all depends on one person. Charlie Lee confirmed this expression, he specifically left Litecoina. Therefore, if suddenly Buterin leaves Ether, it will probably only be better overall for the whole crypto industry.

I also had such feelings, when I remembered about Satoshi and Bitcoin... But isn's it strange indeed? Why would loosing the main person in a team, the creator of the whole thing actually, lead to its success? It's something that just blows my mind.

I think I will. I don't think that one person will affect Ethereum's status and technology. But it's best not to leave. After all, it is the core figure.

It could be that Googles interest in him is that they are planning to integrate the Ethereum blockchain into their product line. They have a history of finding promising open source technology and then making it their own. I would view Googles apparent interest as a positive and not a negative for Ethereum.

Even if vitalik decided to leave the ethereum project, i would still remain a part of it because ethereum has managed to grow to a point where it can stand on its own just like bitcoin did and there is no telling what would happen of he left, it might affect the price and the price might fall down for a while but there would not be a lot of negative effect on it and it would bounce back

I dont think so. He is having his own potential project that can someday take over many automised stuff and thus ETH makes something bigger part of Vitalik.

But lets just consider if Vitalik left then also ETH will work just fine because there is huge demand for it and it is still being fulfilled by the project thus making it far more visible than other projects. This makes sense why it is on the top too.

Ethereum is a platform, perhaps, today the best of those that have been presented. Vitalik is its Creator, it is his child. Even if he sees great prospects in Google and leaves the project, I do not think that will break all relations with the team, and will continue to work on the project, but in a different role. Now behind the platform there are a lot of people and even after losing Vitalik, the platform will continue to exist and lead the market.

That would depend on who he would be replaced by and how transition is conducted. Of course, such an event would drop ETH price dramatically for a while.

I would watch after the market and it trends if Vitalik left Etherium. But I still think it is a good strong alt who can still survive without his creator as it has strong technologies and is involved in many projects

I think that the project should not be based on one person. I am sure that over time the Ethereum Will become such a powerful platform that it will not depend on one person. Although at the moment the value of Vitalik Buterin for Ethereum is huge. In my opinion, as the Ethereum develops, its importance will be lower.

No one never stated that he will really leave crypto, it is mentioned that the topic starter knows for sure it will not happen at least now and probably any time soon. If he joins Goog Le, I still support ETH and I will support Vitalik Buterin, we all know that Vitalik Buterin is a perfectionist, and that his ETH is a perfect block chain project, I think ETH will continue to develop, and will not receive the effect of Vitalik Buterin.

He initiated the whole thing with some vision so I dont think that he will ever think of leaving the ETH over other services offered to him. If he does leave then I am sure people will actually invest more into ETH just to show the respect to vitalik and tell him that we miss him.  :P This kind of stuff do happen in this world and who knows he might just come back into ETH and people will put more and he will spike the coin like very crazy. This is a very good questions, I am a big supporter of Ethereum becaue of Vitalik. He is a really great brain and he really knows what he is doing, other devs really don't know what they are doing. I think I would dump some ETH if he leave he team. But I  would also hold, because there could come a new brain :)

If Google, has enough knowledge when it comes to cryptocurrency, then I think that would be fine. If the project development won't change then Ethereum will still have a bright future. But if Google managed to make a better project development, and a better team behind it the future of Ethereum can be brighter especially if Google will own it since Google is already a big name in business industries.

If something like this happened suddenly then ETH can be fully decentralized I guess since it's main developer left. And if by chance this will come, I don't think that ETH will die that way easily.

I don't think that Ethereum so strictly depends from Buterin. Yes Vitalik it is the face of Ethereum, but many brilliant developers have been ivolved to the development of Ethereum blockchain and I think the core team is the most important.

I don't believe such news. But, if it's true, then I think I will keep supporting it. I mean like, Ethereum has a really big community now.
But, we can't deny that if he really left, the price might dump a little, or might even bigger. Well, the co-founder himselft left its "child". But let's not forget about all the team behind it. They must've prepared something for the worst.

We do have our own personal opinions about this matter and most of us still believes with this genius, vitalik and ETH can't be separated even if he will accept the offer, I personally thinks that he knew that this project already been successful and he already been engaged with it, its just another positive things to consider as Google really eyeing to crypto and maybe they are planning to have their own coins so they needed vitalik to begin with, though its just my personal thing and I don't have concrete evidence to claim it.

If I think that Ethereum is just about Vitalik I would have never touch it in first place , and I think a lot wouldn't too , so Vitalik leaving Ethereum or not is not a real issue for me . Ethereum will keep move forward and the only one who gonna lose is Vitalik .

i dont support etherum. i only trade it when i think it is profitable. i will keep trading ethereum even if vitalik is in or not. but it is for sure that ethereum price will fall sharply if vitalik leaves from ethereum team.

Assuming that it is going to happen, I do not think Ethereum will be greatly affected. It will be driven by community support. Just imagine bitcoin, nobody really cares now if Satoshi Nakamoto is alive or not.

If he leaves the team, then I think nothing bad will happen. The Ethereum platform will remain the same popular and its team will work only for the benefit and will advance the development of the platform further.

That question is a very hard one. Vitalik's ingenuity has been one of the reason for the ethereum popularity and success as a whole. If he leaves would I stop supporting ethereum?? No, I will keep on supporting because he has done a great job that has accumulated lots of goodwill and a huge community already, I am sure if he leaves he will handover to a structure of people who will build on the legacy he created and not disappoint him.

But come on, nothing stopped Satoshi from "abandoning his offspring", though it was the invention that changed the whole world. Great minds are also  the unpredictable ones, so no one nows whan can happen tomorrow.

To date, there is no alternative solution for replacing the Ether platform. Even if Vitalik for some reason will quit the game, I will still be an investor Ether.
However, if there is a strong competitor in the market who will take all the positions I will transfer my investments to other tokens. But it will not be because of Vitalik, but because of losing positions in the market.

I think there is nothing to be afraid of because everything about Ethereum has been programed which any reasonable developer can run. After all Vitalik Buterin was not the only one who develop the Ethereum blockchain. Maybe his leaving is for our own good. I don't think that's really serious news. I'd still support ETH if it did happen, probably not as strongly though.

It depends on how the price of the coin will behave in the long run. In principle, it's even good if Vitalik leaves the Etherium. This would be good for decentralization. It would be a test of sustainability.

I think anyone who joins projects because of the person has to be flawed in judgement. I'm the first to say here that I really liked Charlie Lee and Litecoin, and possibly followed Litecoin development a lot because of him. He has far vision, he has patience, he is kind and he is funny.

I do believe he is the Co-Founder of Ethereum with at least one other person Anthony Diiorio, he is however obviously a talented developer and a visionary. If he were to leave then I am certain the project would continue as there must be many people working on Ethereum nowadays and at the moment it is still one of the most useful coins out there.

Vitalik is not ethereum problem. I believe he doesnt know then how much he knows now. Those development you see with some new platforms are results of lesson learnt from the mistakes of Vitalik. That's why I will always give so much respect to satoshi, Bitcoin as the pioneering breakthrough project that has stayed up to new technology in cryptocurrency.

I would, but the thing is that if he lives then the coin will likely suffer from some losses for a while before it can get back on its feet again. I think that a lot of peopel like me would not leave the project but the creator of a coin leaving their own coin is one thing that might put a lot of people off their gam and cause them to start panicking and selling their coins.

Even if Vitalik left Ethereum Project, many people still support the project especially if they can get a new person that capable to lead Ethereum to reach their goals in the long-term. It's normal if someone wants to moves to the other project because he will have a reason why he left the project and I think this will happen too with Vitalik. None of the project is belongs to one person. The idea owner is not the only voter for future of the project. Even Vitalik left the project alone Ethereum will have a good future. It is already one of the best community driven and one of the  popular crypto project up to now.

Of course not, since Vitalik said bad things about Ethereum and Crypto, I didn't support Etheruem anymore because in my opinion if I still support Ethereum it makes me look stupid, because Vitalk doesn't support Ethereum so why should I still support Ethereum.

Vitalik is no one to ethereal really. He doesn't need to be the head of eth for eth to keep running. I'm not sure what will happen but all I'm waiting is for eth to switch to pos to see what will happen to that hash power and to the price of eth anyone knows when could this be?

Probably not. Vitalik is like central pillar of that project so imagine a building after that pillar get removed. Vitalik is the only genius on their team and there is no one who can take his place. His intentions are about the project's vision while most of his other teammates are perhaps just after the money and legacy.

I still support Ethereum ,even of Vitalik left it , it is very usual in any business that ,if the two parties which collaborate at first , does not agree anymore in terms and conditions will take part of each other ,then we look to and move forward , but the support for ethereum from will always be there no matter what happen , this is just one of the odds coming and not the whole ethereum.

Vitalik is the founder of Ethereum but that is not the reason Eth achieves the present value. Investors and holders are the ones who decide what it will achieve. If this happens I will always follow a dynamic number so if everyone leaves it then I will no longer support it.

Of course I would, Ethereum now is bigger than just Vitalik Buterin alone, I know he's influence in the ethereum community cannot be undermined, But Bitcoin still does exist and is doing pretty great with the absence of Satoshi, even though is presence would have obviously made Bitcoin better. Vitalik absence will be duly felt but, that doesn't mean the project can't continue in his absence.

Don't think Ethereum project would be still as powerful and famous in case Vitalik's gone. It's based mainly on his personality and obviously such a loss will cause a dramatic popularity decrease. Nobody will show his photo to friends, talk about young genius phenomenon and laugh at some funny gifs with him :)

You're pretty right. Not only bitcoin, but doge also like that. From there we should be able to think, not always when the founder leaves, a platform will fall. Support from the community really can make dogecoin continue to live until today, especially with ethereum which has a community greater than dogecoin.

if the community remains strong. of course it will keep eth on the market. the most important thing is, the community does not release their assets. as long as there is support from a very strong community, it will be a big step in supporting ethereum in the market.

as an investors i will invest in ETH only when i see it still have potential to become stronger, so a founder like Vitalik wont be problem even if he left ETH, as long as ETH is well developed, it will stay strong for every long time, but if it can not hold any longer, i will use another altcoin.

I don't think the mainstream Ethereum token will lose its value for personal reasons. Unless the project token is still in its infancy, it will definitely die halfway along with the CEO's departure.

 Viktalik is the founder & core member  of ETH netowrk , when he leaves ,  investor who are holding ETH will panic so its going have allot of effect on ETH price , Right Now people believe even  if satoshi reveal him self bitcoin will attract new investor on board , As a crypto enthusiast Viktalik leaving ETH will cause fear and panic which will not attract me to hold ETH ..

I will still support Ethereum platform of course. I think a big no to your suspicion that ethereum will die if Vitalik leaves. Another better person would replace him in case of his departure. It maybe his departure would affect the project a bit. But it is unlikely that the project would die. Though a good team is crucial for a project, the project is not necessarily dependent on one member of the team. There is a system in a team, and the project will run on that system regardless of a member leaving. But good news is that Vitalik is not leaving.

Although Vitalik is the "face" of eth, the reality of any tech development is that there is a whole team behind it.
Although steve jobs is credited for the iphone, the truth is there were many people working to make it happen.
And then, if you factor in the many more to get it to market, it is a substantial amount of people.

If Doge is able to survive till this time and still continue to grow, no much more doge that has got more mass adoption, vast community, a tool for ICOs and the likes.
