Title: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: NAGAjalokia on September 08, 2011, 11:55:34 AM Hellp Ladies and Gentlemen of the Bitcoin World.
The product I offer you today are Naga Jalokia (Ghost) peppers from India, I have been growing them organically since January and they have been bearing fruit for the last month. I was a bit more successful than i had anticapated and now i have 100's of these peppers and can only eat a fraction of one in a meal. The Naga Jalokia measures over a million on the Scoville scale vs a typical orange habanero at 300,000 STU's so these are not to be taken lightely. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-IR3u_1oMVbU/Tmip89sd_zI/AAAAAAAAAfI/1O12BtZm92E/s640/2011-08-20_11-58-39_591.jpg DISCLAIMER -By receiveing and purchasing the Naga Jalokia pepper you agree that I cannot be held responsible for any possible consequences that may occur from unsafe handeling of this pepper. the capsicum oil in this pepper will remain on you hands after washing and may burn if exposed to your eyes, skin or other bodily organs. be careful this is just a touch less hot than pepper spray. The burn from this pepper is unique in my experience, the intensity slowley builds up for about 5 minutes until a peak burn is felt. this sensation lasts for about 5 to 10 minutes before it begins its slowly fade away. a peice of pepper skin approximatley 1cm x 1cm is almost unbearable on its own, if you put a 3rd of a pepper in a meal the burn is intense but manageable, a whole pepper in a meal makes it nearly unbearable. I make a hot sauce using 7 peppers some vinegar and spices, and just a dab on some eggs is perfect. well i think that covers just about everything, please ask any questions you may have. and the prices can be found below. This was my last harvest before the snow fall, they are warming up inside at the moment getting ready for next season. a lot of the peppers did not get a chance to mature so they are mostly green and light orange in color, and may be just a tad less extreme. Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! *samples* Post by: ampirebus on September 08, 2011, 01:58:38 PM can i ask, did you get the seeds from india or just from a local hardware store ? Are they organic or did you use pesticide and GMO plants?
im interested in some dried ones. im not a chef but i enjoy cooking in my free time and just started learning about indian cuisine, am now a nahwab bhat addict Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! *samples* Post by: 72289 on September 08, 2011, 02:02:47 PM Oh. My. God. Those look so good. :o If you need someone else to vouch for you I live in the US and would love to get my hands on one of those peppers. Obviously I'll be back for more huge fan of flaming hot spices.
Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! *samples* Post by: NAGAjalokia on September 08, 2011, 02:07:25 PM no pesticide, no GMO's, Organic nutrients (i am not certified or anything) but they were grown inside for the winter and moved outside for the summer, grown in pots, no use for any kind of bug killing toxins in my area.
the soil i used was Pro-Mix, with supplemented bone and blood meal, and fed with Neptunes harvest fish and sea weed fertilizer EDIT: forgot to mention, the authentic seeds are hard to come by, the most trusted vendor is the New Mexico State University @ http://www.chilepepperinstitute.org/ which is where i obtained my seeds BIT MORE: these peppers are HARD to grow, seeds germinate at 85 to 95 degrees F, and can take up to 2 monthes to crack the surface, These plants have been growing since January and only started to bear fruit in july, they then can take another month to mature (turn red). I am no professional but I also enjoy cooking and using fresh and organic veggies. Cooking with these is a lot of fun and i could post up a hot sauce recipe for you guys that is both devastating and amazing! @72289 yes no one has sent me an address yet so I still have 5 samples for freeeeeeeee! so long as you kindly review and vouch for me. shoot me a PM! Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! *samples* Post by: 72289 on September 08, 2011, 02:13:06 PM PM sent.
Not sure how 5 samples are still left. I guess a lot of people haven't had this in a dish. I have and I can vouch for the pepper itself. When used in smaller portions it can really bring life to about anything. I prefer to eat it in pasta dishes with chicken or use it as a sauce and mix it into your hamburgers before you throw them on the grill. Could also see the dry ones being dangerously good in a dry rub for ribs during this football season. Like the OP said though be careful. If you eat too much you'll regret within a couple minutes and then for the next couple days. Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! *samples* Post by: evolve on September 08, 2011, 02:26:06 PM id like a sample if it still available..
Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! *samples* Post by: NAGAjalokia on September 08, 2011, 02:35:56 PM id like a sample if it still available.. Awesome you got it, all I need is a PM with an address 4 remaining! In my area, most people I've shown them to have been to afraid to try them, I'd hate to have a bunch go bad, so I'm opening up more markets (bitcoin, biddingpond, ebay, blah-blah....) Next season I'd like to join my local farmers market and grow a few more exotic and super hot strains. the Peter Pepper, trinidad scorpion, some hard-to-find ornamentals (the edible ones). If all goes according to plan, I'll have a DBA + necessary permits this winter and I'll get a .com up and running. Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! *samples* Post by: 72289 on September 08, 2011, 03:24:54 PM Damn just got a message from NAGAjalokia letting me know that it was just sent out via USPS. That's a legit turnaround time for shipping on a free product. Lots of potential. Who would've thought you could use Bitcoins to buy peppers? :D

edit: Fun Fact The active compound in Chilies that produces the burning sensation is Capsaicin. Capsaicin is a natural aphrodisiac, great nasal decongestant, natural blood thinner, stimulates the metabolism AND releases endorphin. You could use the pepper and scoop out some for me. I could do 20 seeds for .75 BTC if you would like. Though I can't guarantee germination rate, and I recommend reading up on them a bit if you haven't. They can take up to 2 monthes to germinate, using rockwool cubes inside of a humidity dome, on top of a heat mat set to 90 degrees F, I had a 100% germination rate after 3 weeks. so not impossible, just a bit trickier than your average veggie. I can however guarantee that they have not been cross pollinated by any other pepper strain Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! *samples* Post by: Yankee (BitInstant) on September 08, 2011, 06:11:31 PM I make a hot sauce using 7 peppers some vinegar and spices, and just a dab on some eggs is perfect. All samples are gone, and shipped, i hope to see some sort of feedback early to mid next week. even got a couple paying customers already, those orders will be shipped out tommorrow (post-mans gone for the day). Thanks to all who have stopped by! This has been the best response I've gotten so far, I don't know why i didn't come here sooner. I've been lurking for a looonnnnng time, finally got an account, glad to be part of the community (even though this forum can get a bit out of hand at times). Post by: NAGAjalokia on September 13, 2011, 03:30:13 PM your very welcome, glad they arrived intact. I did not make it to USPS yesterday, so all pending orders are shipping out today, I apologize for the delay, my day job was particularly demanding yesterday, man I hate mondays.

Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: NAGAjalokia on September 14, 2011, 09:48:55 PM Awesome! glad to hear it arrived intact.
My plants have stopped fruiting at the moment and are going through another flowering phase. I am afraid the nights are getting a bit cold and I don't have much time left. I plan to bring my best plants inside and see if I can keep them through the winter. for those still interested I have probably 30 - 40 peppers left, and I plan on making a nice big fresh batch o' 7PEPPER sauce tonight. Some packages were shipped yesterday and should land thursday/friday. this week has been a bit crazy as the boss left on vacation for 2 weeks and left me in charge of 20+ guys and 5 construction projects, all of which need atleast 8 guys.... so you can see how the math does not quite work out, guess that means i gotta work like I'm 10 people. soooo. i did not make it to the post office today, outstanding orders will ship tomorrow, I apologize for the delay. on a side not- If anyone is re-doing/building a house and would like some 'modern/contemporary' design assistance, I can throw some sketches together. I designed and built my own home 2 years ago and I know how hard it is to find modern-anything in the USA, I'll post a few pictures on here later. I work and specialize in commercial construction and have access to all sorts of products. after building hotels, schools, banks, restaurants, universities and etc, building a house is a piece of cake, but a house is a house unless you make it something unique and special. Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: mb300sd on September 14, 2011, 09:53:39 PM I'll take 12 peppers, 6 fresh, 6 dried, and 8oz of your sauce. PM me.
Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: naypalm on September 15, 2011, 07:29:58 PM I just got my peppers and sauce this morning, Tried some on tacos at lunch and these things are HOT! Thanks for the fast shipping and awesome product! ;D
Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: NAGAjalokia on September 15, 2011, 08:08:06 PM Glad you like it! I'm running low on fresh peppers, maybe 15-20 left, I got tons of dried peppers and a bunch of 7PEPPER sauce ready to go, if anyone else is interested.
Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: tsvekric on September 15, 2011, 10:04:36 PM one of my housemates tried the sauce and might want their own. I'll pm if so.
It is quite tasty! Its spicy, but it doesn't overpower the actual flavor of it like a lot of super-spicy sauces. Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: Richard Rahl on September 15, 2011, 10:23:55 PM What kind of sauce is it, is thick and good for chips like Salsa? Or is it more liquid, for use on other things.
I'm thinking about buying a 4oz., but only if we can eat it as salsa. I wish we actually knew how to cook so we could buy some of the dried or fresh. lol. Unfortunately, neither me or the wife are very good at it. Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: NAGAjalokia on September 15, 2011, 10:26:25 PM give me about 5 minutes and I will answer your question with a picture
... 5 minutes later .... https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-0MyaaiZINRk/TnJ89eE5eDI/AAAAAAAAAfQ/pjn5fPlPLec/s640/2011-09-15_18-30-18_164.jpg this is 7PEPPER with another sauce with a thickness simialer to sirachi (its a plastic bottle with asain writing on the label). I can scoop more than I can handle at one time a corn chip, but it is more sauce like than salsa. Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: Richard Rahl on September 16, 2011, 12:26:28 AM Thanks for the pic. Unfortunately, that's not going to work.
Let me see if I can talk the mother-in-law to make some salsa for me. How much longer do you think you are going to have the fresh peppers for? I'm hoping she can make it with dried (as I'd rather have those shipped), but I'm not sure. Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: NAGAjalokia on September 16, 2011, 01:28:00 AM Do you happen to have any seedlings or rooted cuttings for sale? Not at the moment, but if you are still interested in a couple monthes I will be starting a bunch indoors. Quote How much longer do you think you are going to have the fresh peppers for? I'm hoping she can make it with dried (as I'd rather have those shipped), but I'm not sure. I have about 15-20 fresh peppers left (might last through next week), 30-40 dried peppers. so far shipping has been pretty quick 2-4 days, and in my experience these things are pretty resilient and hold up well. also, all my plants have started to flower again, i will move them inside and hopefully harvest another couple hundred if you powdered the dried peppers and mixed them in salsa I'm positive it's gonna spice it up! If these peppers are cooked, powdered, washed off with warm water watch the fumes, think tear-gas. I had a pretty bad experience with steaming warm water and a cutting board with 15 peppers worth of oil on it. Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: MoonShadow on September 16, 2011, 04:47:29 AM The product I offer you today are Naga Jalokia (Ghost) peppers from India, When I was a Junior in high school, I had a friend of mine who was notorious for bad ideas. His father traveled for his work, and brought some of these bastards home with him. My friend brought them to school, and tried to tell everyone that they were "only a little hotter than a halapeno". Everyone else just said, "I'll try one after you do". However, I was a bit crazier. So I grabbed one, popped it into my mouth and started chewing it before he had a chance to stop me. I chewed it up, and swallowed it. I then looked at his shocked face, shrugged my shoulders and said, "it's sweet". Then it hits me, and I screamed like a little girl. It was oilly, and sticks to the inside surfaces so that once it got going I could literally feel my mouth and all the way down into my stomach. I ended up comandeering a water fountain, and the principal forced my buddy to go down to the cafeteria and buy me every milk that he could afford. I slowly drank about a half gallon of milk over the next two hours, and I had blisters on the inside of my mouth for a week. And I still suspect that I lost some hearing in my left ear that day. On the plus side, my head cold was gone. Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: the joint on September 17, 2011, 06:55:43 PM Got my sample! Wonderful packaging...simple, but it does the job. Wasn't expecting a package that size for a dried pepper that small :) It was kind of like Christmas.
Thanks! My roommate's dog is going to love this ;D Edit: Ate a tiny piece. Surprisingly good flavor! This stuff is great. Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! The hot paste consists of mayonnaise, Louisiana hot sauce, and the remainder of the half of the cut pepper. Ill update later on heat scale, taste, etc.

Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: wormbog on September 30, 2011, 03:37:37 PM I got my order and tried it out on some leftover Pad Thai last night. Fantastic! There was still a bit of residual heat from my mouth down to the stomach several hours later.
For anyone with burning mouth or hands I've heard that olive oil neutralizes the heat pretty effectively. Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: NAGAjalokia on October 31, 2011, 10:56:01 PM Just had another rather large harvest right before the snow came, these are some resilient plants! I brought them indoors to bask in the glow of my artificial sun, hoping for some more peppers early next year.
a lot of the peppers did not get a chance to mature so they are mostly green and light orange in color, and may be just a tad less extreme. I have Dried Peppers (shipping is free on these in cont. My brother is a brewmaster and is going to attempt a 10gal brew with one of these. Naga beer anyone? I've used 1 fresh in a 5gal batch of a basic "cream ale" and it kicks my ass and I LOVE hot stuff. 10gal should be nice. Not that 5gal of cream ale has much to offer in terms of flavor and body to cover the heat. I used 1 dried in a 4quart batch of my normal white chicken chili (already pretty hot as it stands) and it kicked things up a few levels, very good flavor though. That's the great thing about these, it's not just heat like cayenne, the heat is good flavor too :) Title: Re: Selling the Hottest Pepper in the world! Cheap! Post by: NAGAjalokia on November 01, 2011, 01:43:05 PM Just powdered most of the last harvest last night, turned close to 100 peppers into 25 grams or so. There is also the Naga Viper, bred by a British lad at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naga_Viper_pepper . the thing about these peppers is that they were bred and propagated by some skilled growers. The Naga Jalokia was used to fertilize some other super hot strains to make the naga viper. and the aussie lad chose another set of super hots. The Nagag Jalokia on the other hand was found growing wild in india some centuies ago and was a natural evolution and kin o' the earth. So I will keep the title, even if it may be a tad misleading. the testing used to rate the scoville scale is also very inaccurate. What scientists do will take a known quantity of dried pepper in solvennt (alcohol) say 1ml will be mixed with a quantity of water, in the case of the jalokia it would be 1,001,304 ml is of water. one drop of his solution is dropped on the toung of several scientists until they can no longer feel the effects of capsaicin. this test may only be done once a day per person, and can very significantly with different peppers of the same plant.
