Title: Do you look at ICO ratings from the rating of the ICO website when you invest?
Post by: GmBoom on May 29, 2018, 09:08:48 AM
How can we make sure that the investment we use can surely gives us a true profit in an ICO? As an investors we want to make sure that we can surely gain profit on an ICO that we want to invest. Do you look at the ICO ratings from the rating of the ICO website when you plan to invest?

That is one way how we see the ICO is quality or not. Because Before investing of course we should really have read, see and review projects that do the ICO is one of them by looking at ICO Ranking and much more that we should know.

I've invested based ico ratings on a website, but in fact, it's not a guarantee. ICO that I follow unsuccessfully and in the market the price low.
I prefer to see the transactions of the token, how many people are interested in investing there. then look from a manager, as far as I see the manager of amazix always has a nice project and success.

Not really, because most ICO websites are biased and their scores are just advertising and not reflection of the project fundamentals. In fact most so-called "advisors" are also biased and shill a coin after they invested on it (or got allocation from the team at better terms than you). Otherwise, some of them even FUD a project and damage it. I prefer to do my own research, because it is my money on the line.

No I dont really.

ICO ratings can be bought one and purchased ratings can be harmful for the investors. I mean any shit ICO will always afford that much money to get the ICO ratings to higher levels so that investors will put more money into it and they will benefit for them.

It may sound too fetched but it is what it is!

If you want to be good investors then just research everything by yourself. As you go on reading more about it with your skills then you go on understanding the depth of it over and over again.

There's been at least one report of ICO rating website biasing their scores depending on the amount of money payed by the ICO Team. So if you buy a bigger package you have higher scores or something similar. May be an isolated case but still I wouldn't rely only on those ratings

When choosing an object for investment, I consider many aspects.

The main of them are:
The project team
evaluation of ICO trackers
Advisers
Idea

But this approach does not always give the desired result

Do you look at the ICO ratings from the rating of the ICO website when you plan to invest?
As much as possible, I try not to look at ICO rating website because they only present their subjective opinion that can be influenced by bribery or any other factor. Nevertheless, when I invest into an ICO, I also look at its rating from the ICO rating website if I am not convinced with the current information I got(because they tend to give away some pieces of information that would help complete my research).

I don't look at any ICO rating website because I think all the ICO rating sites get payed for their services So it lacks merit in essence you can't judge which ICO is good or not with just checking their rating scores better still research the project by checking if it's viable coin and if the project have a product and lastly if there is really a unique idea behind the project

I don't bother looking at them at all. They will only have the same information that exists on the website of the project doing the ICO. They do not confirm that information from reliable third party sources and they do not conduct any serious due dillingence to confirm the information or even the identities of the people behind the ICO. You should not invest without doing your own research.

Yes I follow icobench mostly because their rating team is probably the best I have come across. I trust their ratings blindly. But, given the state of market, I feel it makes no point to invest in ICOs. I would rather invest in coins with low market cap that have been recently listed on exchanges instead of investing in ICOs. For example, Remme was recently listed on multiple exchanges and I would choose it over ICOs.

I haven't tried looking at the ICO rating website yet but I would definitely do this in the future. I think this will greatly help me in deciding which project to join that would give me good returns instead of wasting my time and effort to some ICOs that doesn't pay.

I only use rating sites as an indication of what projects I should look into. So I take high highly rated projects and then research them to see what they are about and after the research I choose the top 5 (based on research, not on rating) to invest in.

I am not a fan of reviewing ico's in various ICO website ratings, because it feels like they are being paid by these project to reflect that they highly profitable ICO's even if it's not. I saw lots of project whos getting an above average grade but if you look at their platform it is like a trash, and cannot contribute into blockchain technology.

It is one of the most important moments not to lose your investments. It takes a lot of time because it is difficult to get to ICO with good rating, so we have to look for ICO with average rating, and it means that there is a probability that it can be skam.

ICO rating websites can just give an overview the idea of the project, but one should not depend only on it even if the rating is 4+. Self-research should be done and should exactly focus on the problem & solution it provides and then use your own mind will it benefit the community or not in near future. Regarding investment, every investment where the talk of money comes is not 100% safe there are risks that you should calculate, the project might fail due to unfortunate events that lead to loss of your money.

I've done that before, but it does not guarantee the success of the project, usually I see about the project, such as a project run in the medical field, bank or whatever I think it will guarantee the success of the project.

Yes, certainly. I view all the ratings to which I have access. I consult with friends who also invest in cryptocurrency. I listen to any opinions. Bad and good. Of course, the final decision is made only by myself. But before making a decision I like to study the opinions of others.
However, there are very confident dudes who don't listen to anything around. They themselves know how best. (I have such a friend, yes.)

Usually not. I do my own research and give my own rating. Occasionally, I don't agree with those websites. They get paid to get a project listed higher in their rating system, so I can't usually trust them. A high ranking in an ICO rater only means a high marketing budget in my humble opinion.

ICO ratings are good for the primary analysis. I'm studying the most popular projects with the highest evaluations to select the most interesting, and then conduct the detailed analysis. So the ratings are good, but you cannot rely on them.

Before investing it is necessary, to get as much information about the upcoming project. It is desirable that she was as plausible as possible. Ratings of all kinds are not particularly true in this matter, so you have to find the information you need, evaluate it and decide on participation.

I look at these ratings for the sake of interest, but I do not trust them blindly. Since 1. Ratings are created on the basis of subjective opinion of other people ("experts"), therefore, the human factor also plays here. 2. One can not know for certain the reliability of the rating, it is quite possible that they were paid for a good evaluation

Yes, after verifying the whitepaper, roadmap, ideas ... I usually refer to that ico review from a few sites like coingecko, icobench, trackico. It is still a way to test the quality and utility of the ico project. Although, it can not restrict the scam projects but to ensure the quality of your investment. Be careful and take the time to consult before making a decision.

There are a lot of things to look at before investing in an ico. Usually i check on:

1. The project itself. It matters that the ico has a viable project.
2. The whitepaper. It gives you the details about the ico. The time table. How long the preparation of the team before the icois launched.
3. The website. To know if the ico is legit, make sure it has a working website.
4. The people behind the ico. Its important to  know who is running the show. You can check linked in so you will know if these are real people or not.
5. Ratings. It is important that you check ratings because it only proves that the ico is something one can believe in. Many people gets attracted to icos with good ratings. It helps boost their image and popularity.

Ratings alone are not enough for me to make investments, it is necessary to study the project well, to study the team members, to communicate with developers, and even sometimes intuition tells which project deserves our support. Ratings do not always reflect the full picture and most of them are made based on users and their opinions.

I do look at ICO ratings but that is NOT the only place where I look. After I select a coin, I ensure that I visit at least 3 different ICO rating websites so as to get views from each and every team.
Once that is done and I am convinced that the coin has some growth potential, I then begin my research by looking at the team, reading the whitepaper, going through the ANN, interacting with the team, evaluating company's long term goals and vision.
Once all of that is done, I make my investment choice.

they just give the ICO only rating based on what is shown on the outside only. whether the result is unlike anything they would not know about it. so I guess the rating as it will not be a guarantee for the ICO can succeed. better believe it and analyze its own course because it will further add to the experience.

Even some ICO rating site just give  good rating to any ICO that pay them well to advertise their ICO into their website so yeah it's pretty much a reviewing media that has really low credibility because the money involved into this one.
THere might be plenty of them that is still "fine" out there but Im not risking it, majority of them are exist for money grab by offering their website to ICO developer, I would prefer analyze it myself so that I can 100% sure.

How can we make sure that the investment we use can surely gives us a true profit in an ICO? As an investors we want to make sure that we can surely gain profit on an ICO that we want to invest. Do you look at the ICO ratings from the rating of the ICO website when you plan to invest?

I think we should consider any suggestion from any website. ICO rating from some website sometimes give us clue whats the profitable ICO. That website must be have some expert to analysis ICO and that website must be do not want to polluting their good name

Yes of course, I look at their ratings as a matter of fact but I don’t believe in their ratings than I do to my own personal research. For this reason, everyone need personal research than that of ICO ratings site before investing. Thank

When i was looking for new bounty campaign, i drew attention on ratings on icobench. I see they have not enough criterions, to give guarantees.

I think that everybody including me before investing money is looking for any information that can be found. However, very little ICO survives in the long term, so many people invest in ICO for a short time.
But ratings are more important for understanding a long-term perspective. In my opinion, no ratings can predict the course on the market, especially in a short period of time.

Honestly, yes. Although this thing will not help you to guarantee avoid from scams 100%, ICO rating can help you to minimize the scam possibilities. First, we must learn also the other criteria such as the product and its real chance in the world. The amount of the investors and transaction must be also real. But, i don't not only put my attention on the rating. I will analyze the project many times.

sometimes, I take a look at ICO ratings but sometimes not. I think it's just a rating which gives us information about the ICO that potential to be a good ICO and will get success in the future. but the important here is we need to know all about the ICO at least we read their whitepaper and talk with the dev and the team about their projects, what their vision and mission in the short-term and the long-term so we can decide to invest with them or not.

Any ICO will always spend that much money to get an ICO rating to a higher level so that investors will put more money into it and they will benefit them. I have invested based on ico rankings on the website, but in fact, it is not a guarantee. The ICO I follow is not successful and in the low price market. I would rather do my own research and make my own conclusions as well I have some ico analysts that I follow

Yes, I must look at the ICO rating. This is a basis for my investment, but it is not the only basis. I have to read the relevant information in the forum carefully. If the team and the project are very good, it may bring me I will invest if I come to profit.

I don't rely on such ratings to invest. Some ratings are false.
