How is that possible? Thanks for feedback. Emotional trading can mean a different thing to different people. In my opinion it's becoming too attached to the coins you've bought. This may cause to to keep buying as the price falls, or to hold onto as the price drops into massive losses for you. Unfortunately this can really only be broken with experience, I'm still bag holding a few coins I should've sold a long time ago, but have been too attached to them. Other explanations could be 'tilt' from trading. In video games it's easy to get upset after losing a couple games. This may cause you to perform worse, but keep playing because you need to win some. Usually this leads to more losses. In trading it may be easy to lose big on a trade, so you start making risky trades in an attempt to earn your money back. Ideally, you should know when to walk away and take a break and relax. Again this comes with experience, especially because it's easy to think that if you don't make a trade right now you'll lose your opportunity to make the money back. I agree with this one but only in certain circumstances.. I think if you're maybe trying to predict a bottom on bitcoin and buying alts you may would want to put a tight stop loss, unless it continues down just to get you out of that position before things get bad... but definitely don't do sell now at a 50-60% loss, you'll just have to be stuck bagholding until the situation gets better. Instead of selling, they keep holding and value falls further. This instinct is known as FOMO and in 9/10 case it brings negative results to investors. So it is better to be safe and earn low than try making profits on rising coin because pump in crypto world is very short living due to high volatility and price manipulation. They can often create panic and make you do wrong decisions. And I realy think that false information are a big problem in Bitcoin community.

As a market that is easily manipulated by news and fuds, you may suffer tremendous loss if you choose to cash out in a panic way when the market suddenly turn downward without any reason or being affected by some regulatory policies. One example for this is Chinese ICO ban back in Sep. 2017 when a lot of investors choose to cash out (including me) and sold all the crypto assets in a super cheap price. And if you look back ans say it you choose to hold or even accumulate more cheap ones during that period of time, most of them will bring you a tremendous amounts of profits!

I don't see how anyone can keep 100% of their emotions away, but you gave a good tip on this. Too many people don't think straight, especially if they are new in this whole thing (like myself). Do not trade with the money you don't have. If you are going to be in trouble when market crashes than don't trade your coins that you do not own yourself. Be careful with how much you trade and always trade or invest with the money you are willing to lose. If you are not doing that, you will end up in big losses for yourself and it will take a lot of time to recover from that setback.

That's right, do not be too greedy. I used to spend a lot of money on coin nano too greedy. It is high price but I do not sell that I wait for it higher price. Coin nano prices have fallen sharply and I lost half of my investment. Never invest all your money into a coin that must invest in diversity. Maybe that would have been better in the past, but probably not even. If that coins goes to shit, then you're screwed, rather than just losing say 5% of that particular coin. Sure it would suck not to have all your money on one coin that went 100x, but it's better than losing it all and having nothing.

If we understand the concept of a certain thing then we will RARELY make mistakes via doing it. I am not saying that makes you predict things, but it helps you avoid mistakes which are more through lack of understanding.
I am not an expert or want to be but I do understand how to make money through it. And it is also very important to pick the right exchange to work, I prefer Bitmex, which got the ingredients required for a normal person. You can read Bitmex review (https://www.cryptocointrade.com/) too, which should help you understand their level and reach. So, these are BASIC stuff that one requires to know and understand. |
