Title: Some ICO is not scam
Post by: Gileadorji12 on June 16, 2018, 01:06:32 PM
Hello, let me clear this doubt some people said that all ICO is a scam but I don't believe them because I have invested in some ICO and make a good fortune, let me give you some clue to invest.
1. When you want to invest first of all research about the particular ico you want to invest in, try to check their Whitepaper because some ICO copy text from another ICO white papers
2. Try to check their LinkedIn profile though that does'nt matter because some fake LinkedIn profile.
3.Try to know their real location even though some use VPN to hide their location.
4.website professional matters a lot because some don't even know how to build website and they are claiming that they are in to Blockchain
5. Despite all this..involving in ICO is a big risk

The very difficult part in investing an ICO is choosing the right project and you have a good idea for choosing an ICO. I salute you for taking a risk investing in an ICO.

Those are most basic ways of finding legitimacy of the crypto currency related projects that is an ICO.

Well nobody is saying that all of them are scam but analysts data shows that around 80% of the ICO that come into the market are real scammers. According to my experience of bounty participation I am sure that this fact is also true.

Because out of 30-40 ICO's bounty that I joined I will only get tokens for around 5-6 bounties. Now you can imagine that much scam ratio does scare people a lot.

There are two cases that defies our understanding.
1. Scam ICO looks even better than real ICOs, great team of advisers and advertisers. Money can buy anything.
2. The label scam is very difficult to use. Real ICOs are having their coins below ICO price for years and some Scam ICOs made their initial investors rich.(of course on expense of later investors)

Whether or not you made money on it is irrelevant and doesn't indicate whether it was a scam or not. Lots of people make money on scams. Doesn't change the fact that something is a scam(assuming it is).

Not all ICO are scams. It depends on the ICO that you invest. If you invest an ICO that is a scam then that is why you started to believe that all ICO is a scam. All you need to do if you're an ivestor is choosing the good ICO or investigating a good ICO.

Yes true, and this topic you post is a good information, but personally i experience joing a lot of ICO  campaigns with all the characteristics you mentioned above but still there also cases that no matter how legit it looks it ends up to be a scam at the end.. Anyway it is always better to double check to lessen the risks with the advices given from the members of the furom.

Agree. Not all ICOs are scam but legitimacy is not the only ground to determine that ICO is fit to invest in. I have invested in several ICOs and all of them are legit but not all of them were profitable for me and I lost huge fortune investing in ICOs backed by big names. So it is evident that ensuring above points is enough to go for investment. There are several other points that need to be consider too in addition like buzz, promotion, product, uniqueness, exchange listing, etc.

yeah these are some pretty important aspects to look at before investing in a ico. The most important question i am asking myself before investing is, why do the other person want you to invest ?

Hello, let me clear this doubt some people said that all ICO is a scam
Not all ICOs are scam but most of them are.
1. When you want to invest first of all research about the particular ico you want to invest in, try to check their Whitepaper because some ICO copy text from another ICO white papers
When investing on ICOs this is the first thing you should do, read the whitepaper carefully and if you think the content is not well written or some grammars have errors then probably this is a scam. But the thing is some well planned scams also have good whitepaper, so it will be still hard to justify which is not a scam.
2. Try to check their LinkedIn profile though that does'nt matter because some fake LinkedIn profile.
True but what is more important is to know who are those people behind the project and their background or if they really are experts on this field.
3.Try to know their real location even though some use VPN to hide their location.
4.website professional matters a lot because some don't even know how to build website and they are claiming that they are in to Blockchain
True.
5. Despite all this..involving in ICO is a big risk
Not only ICOs but all kinds of investment is a risk. There's no investment that will guarantee you that will give huge profit.

I agree with you! It is necessary to carry out a careful inspection of all social pages and groups of the project, if it is tritely the website badly works, then as they in general are going to create something - always it guards me. Well and even when carrying out ICO the smart contract surely has to work - it is very important!

2. Try to check their LinkedIn profile though that does'nt matter because some fake LinkedIn profile.

just a suggestion also try to search for social media teams like facebook or their personal twitter and ask directly whether it is true they are one of the project team because many ico who use fake team and make linkedin with photos of people. I've found some projects that use the name of someone they acknowledge as their team. and after I contact the person it turns out he did not even know about the project

Well, nobody said that all ICO's are scam. It just so happens that ICO's are a trend and are rampant nowadays that's why it has become a very good target for scammers. They promote their scam projects just so they can earn money, or sometimes, they claim or asks details and information about the participants and then sell it off to some company that needs those. In any case, finding a very good ICO is very difficult nowadays.. One great way, of course, is by means of studying their whitepaper, as well as researching about the team and their advisers. This is the most solid way of avoiding scams.

yes this been become a topic lately. I think ico isnt a scam but its more like its dangerous to invest on it cause first there is no guarantee to gain profit or there is no guarantee that its safe, but if we talk about success ico that bring investors a profit there are absolutely plenty of ico out there that success. For example docademic and pundi x. I believe you could use telegram too  to chat and give a qestion or asking something that related to project it sure good thing to make sure its not a scam.

Well i could get some advise also on those individuals who are planning to invest in an ICO to choose here ICODROPS.COM and select high bench ratings ICO.

I will not restrain saying myself "some" but instead a lot many ICOs are genuine, they are not looking out to SCAM you.
I would like to put an understanding here about ICO, earlier in stocks, the term used was IPO, where new companies or child companies do Initial Public Offering to public for raising the required amount.

ICO is way better then IPO as it gives both the company and investors invest in the company a quicker/easier/safer way to do so.

There are a lot ICO which do not get the raised funds and eventually they back out, but in such scenarios they refund investors back there money in terms of ETH or the means of payment they used to get into ICO.

When you are investing in an ICO, its always a risk, as you are investing in a new venture, they have the concept, idea and vision of a project, but still its not in the market.
So initial research is very much important to understand whether or not the project will be able to deliver there promise or not.

No not ICOs are scams, but we cannot neglect the fact that the market is full of scam projects, so we should support good ideas, and rating platforms should have fair rates to make for investors to make correct decisions. There are some good rating platforms, for example www.icoguide.com, which have real rates, So we should encourage also others.

I have seen those posts popping up on the forum with quite a frequency and I often wonder if they have only ever invested in 1 ICO and got burned from it? So far from about 30 different projects I have only invested in 1 where the team simply disappeared at the end of the token sale. I take my time to look into projects thoroughly and often stick with those managed by professional community management teams as they have done their due diligence before entering into a contract with the company.

both of these points are important but very often forgotten even unnoticed altogether. many people are too lazy to read a whitepaper on the grounds it is useless and too long, but this is precisely the most basic mistakes that make many people exposed to the scam. about profile also I think rarely observed and ended up making a lot of people also get caught up in a scam that prolonged.

Scam ICOs try to appear as legit as possible, that's the point actually.
Know how to identify good ICOs.
I usually research on the team, reputation end experience are my keywords.
How useful and unique is the practical project?
Check out their social media presence and customer support service.
I also check for already made commitments, private sale investments, whether or not they require KYC.

it is true not all project ICO fail / scam, this all depends on the work of the team work. if the team work solidly and earnestly in marketing the product then of course there will be investors who buy their ICO, but maybe the initiators of ICO have to work extra hard because they have to create products that are different from existing ones and must be good at reading market interest and business opportunities for their ICO to succeed and their products are beneficial to the masses.

It is true that not all ICOs are scam though many investors end up losing money. The major issue for me is investors losing confidence in projects immediately after exchange listings and they try to cash out even at a loss. People should only invest in a project and team they are sure of.

I think that some people say that all ico are scams. They want to express it. There are too many scams, too many losses, few projects can make profits, and the majority of losses are losses. This is what he wants to express. In the current market, if you do not do research, you will definitely lose money blindly.

Some ICOs are not scam that's right but nowadays its hard to determine if the particular ICO is a scam or not.

Scammers are professional now and they can lure potential investors to take part in their project because they seem true to their plan and promises. An extensive research is needed to avoid falling into their trap, I think investors are careful now due to their bad past experiences that dont want to happen again.

There really are some ICOs that are not a scam. Think of those well known altcoin nowadays or part of the top 10 in coinmarketcap. They are all started to an ICO right? Every cryptocurrency started an ICO to raise a fund that will support the team and build the project. It is always advisable to do our own research specially with those tips you provided which are part of the critical points. Doing deeper research is a must so that you will not end being a cry baby when you are not aware what is going on with this platform you wanted to invest in to.

Your number 5 point said it all. There are ICOs that have a wonderful whitepaper and they later turn out to be a scam. The most important thing is that all investors should understand the risk on ICO investment.

Yes I do believe that a lot of ICO's are a scam but there also a good ICO but it seems they are outnumbered to the bad ones, therefore we must do our own research not just believe what they are saying.

Nobody said that all ICOs are scam. If all of them are scam then why the hell people would invest? If somebody did even mention about classifying all ICO as scam then he/she might be either just being sarcastic or exaggerated or he/she is so ignorant.
Most ICOs are scam, only a few are legit and from that few legit, only a portion of that is worth to invest in. ICO investment has higher risk than gambling/

Its always worth to invest in those who has got real working proto types of whatever products an services they are offering. They should at least show us some preparedness so that we can be able to track the activity about their previous works and see that there were real people working on them.

Because it gets very hard when it comes to the development phase where they keep saying us that they are in beta phase, alpha phase, open phase and stuff like that. It can be troubling later on.

So a start up with actual fired up things would be always great to see.

I have never have an idea that all icos are scam but many of them are scam.  Investing into icos takes courage and understand on how the market work as many of us here has lost money through icos investments.
There are coins that I invested in since last year and there have not been listed in any exchanges and to me there are scam projects because there are now worthless.

ICO can be a form used by scammers. But it is also one of the best ways to raise capital and develop a project. ICODROPS is one of the best places to evaluate ICOs, and so ICORATING. That was my thought.

But, assuming that all ICO are scams is not right. Because, a few of them can give you a good fortune like you did. Finding a good coin to invest is the most critical part of investing in ICO.

The thing I know is that it's very difficult to determine a scam and not an ico project. All you say are some steps to identify security investment in ico project. Investing in ico projects is vulnerable to failure, but if you are right in choosing a project of course the results will be great. However, I agree that not all ico projects are scam, there are some of them that are good.

Before joining we have check how trust an ico owner, trust or not an ico owner will be some ico success or not, many ico owner is not trust after their ico was sold out and success they have delay for listing their token on market. we have know roadmap of ico correctly to know when we can sell it.

I think if you are ready to invest in ICO that is better investment plat from because you will get good profit and you can earn good return after 6 months when the token listed in good exchange, you should patience also, wait for good return on invest.

Yes, it is true that some ICO are not scam but majority of the ICOs are scam. Out of one hundred percentage, i can say that less than 30% of ICOs are true or are successful. I think it is important to note that investing in cryptocurrencies and Initial Coin Offerings ("ICOs") is highly risky and speculative. One therefore need to be very careful in dealing with any ICO or crypto currency and should be to accept any risk that may occur along the line.

The truth is that most of the ICO nowadays don't have any properly outlined goals. They are just about raising funds and getting the token to one or two exchange and that is it. Which in turn is not profitable to those that has invested in such project. A project meant to solve a particular problem and become valuable are supposed to make that their primary objective and not about just getting token listed and then abandoned.

Not all ICO's are scams, that is never true. Most of them are real, I mean the real ones are more than the fake ones. ICO's who's developers are known are most promising, good websites, a viable whitepaper and real images of developers, not avatars. Read white papers and know the idea behind the project.

This forum sometimes meets information that allegedly all ICO are fraud. This, of course, is greatly exaggerated. Someone simply begins to write a topic after being deceived into some kind of ICO and therefore he writes that absolutely all ICO projects are fraud. Many projects continue to be very useful and promising, they create a real useful product and bring new convenience to people. In general, ICO projects are a very useful activity. If it is regulated by the states, then the demand for the ICO will be very high.

This is obviously true. Based on my observations, 50% of all ICOs are scams or worthless while remaining 50% turn out to be legit whose coins or tokens possess value. The biggest problem is no one knows which ICO is legit or scam until the last moment which is what makes this a risky market to invest into. This is why I feel regulation is good and healthy to help reduce the scams and useless ICOs in the market on the whole.

Sometimes it is very difficult to distinguish a fraudulent project from a good one . Because some people come to everything with such professionalism that for a long time you do not understand what went wrong and why you were not paid

Of course, I think it's really easy to know that not all ICO projects are scam :). The problem is you need to be able to find out legit project to invest in and it's not easy at the moment or I can say that it's really hard. As you guys know that this year is era of ICO project so number of ICO project out there is really huge so it make us more difficult to find out a good project. So it's the reason why people often think that all ICO projects are scam just because they don't have ability to find out good projects :))
The situation is critical, we cant trust in reviews and in ICO benchy sites.
Everyone should do your own research, but how? Whitepaper mostly seems very good, but who knows if the team will develop everything in the Whitepaper.

The number of scams is large - but new projects come out every day and a few pieces, and promising too, there is only a percentage not so big , and it must be found

Of course, if you follow ICO market you can see there are too many ICO program and most of the ICO is very popular. People always invest in an ICO program but recently I see some ICO scam after success. I think it is very difficult to analyze the ICO program because after success some ICO has scammed. You can invest in the ICO program without any hesitation.

Reality is far more different. Many ICO`s are not scam. People should know what is scam and what is
failed project. How to make a difference between project with potential future and project that is doom
to fail? We search for answers before we invest our money.
ICO market is growing and I expect soon we to see some regulations in many countries about ICO`s.
That will be a good sign for all new potential investors.

Let us be clear here, just because one made a good fortune does not make projects funded thru Initial Coin Offerings legit. I agree with the list you made. Those are basic things that needs to be done by every ICO investors.

Yes this are some of the ways which we must follow before investing in any ICO.There are still many projects which are legit and have potential to grow in future but we need to have analysis of market and do reserach for such ICO's.The scam projects usually have huge pumps and dumps in prices after the ICO is over and promotions are done and legit one take time to reach new level. At least 60-70% have been categorized as sacm last year so we need to be careful.

The fact that you are lucky with one or more projects does not mean that 80% of them are not scam. Even if the project is good and it has a future, it is very difficult to collect the desired money in such a bear market. Therefore, investing in ICOs at the moment is a very risky decision.

we have legitimate projects that are doing great and have great potentials for future development. So there are also scam projects too but sometimes it shocks me when people talk as if all altcoins are scams .That insertion to me is quite immature to make such generalizations about altcoins.

I believe in that. I still not let go with the ICO even i scammed for how many times and still i am here. There's still ICO that is not scam and if we get scam accpet it it's part of the system and go find another campaign. The right time will come to us we should not rush things. Altcoin is really playful and need to understand what ever it takes. We should have more patience when it comes to ICO.

Of course, many projects are fraudulent, but there are also many good projects. It seems to me that in order to understand how reliable it is to invest in a project, two things need to be addressed. First, project developers should have profiles in LinkedIn and they must be active. Secondly, the crypto-funds must invest during private rounds.

True. I think that people know that not all of the ICOs are scams but they have come across so many scam ICOs that it is hard for people to picture any good ICOs. It is now harder to figure out which of the coins are scams and which ones are not really scams. Like a lot of people have pointed out in this thread, there are alot of promising iccos but not all of them will end up being successful.

Not all ICOs are scams, that's right. I don't know if it's 20% or 30% or more. However, the fact is the number of scams has increased a lot recently. Also, quality scams are much better done. It is becoming increasingly difficult to recognize cheating even after a good analysis of the project.

Thats right it make sense at all!! You should always thete whitepaper!! Because some of that have been copied in other ICOS!! Yo avoid scam amd regrets !! Number importan always read there whitepaper!!

If you can get a huge profit without any risk that would be great of course.
But that is impossible, so what you can do instead is minimizing risks by doing your own research.
I earned quite a lot of profit from investing in ICO called SRCOIN and they were successful as ICO.
Not many ICOs are successful but it is very rewarding if you do invest in successful ICO.
Knowing that few members of SRCOIN were hired in another ICO called MediBit, I have invested in MediBit as well.
Having team members especially those with experiences of successful ICO is a big selling point for me.

Take a look at their Bitcoin Talk page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3219242.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3219242.0)  website: https://www.medibitusa.com/  (https://www.medibitusa.com/) and Telegram group: https://t.me/MediBit_EN (https://t.me/MediBit_EN)

Oh also, they just announced major news that they are now working together with Korean exchanges to launch the ICO.
And it is confirmed that they will be listed and available for trade as soon as ICO ends.

There are some good points. Doing research it most important thing before buying any of ICO tokens. Buying tokens without research like you grab something in dark. It can be a good one or maybe a bad one. But testing your luck is not a really a good thing. So doing research before purchase token is the most important thing. Yes, Some of the whitepapers are copied from another one. Some of Whitepapers directly translated with google translate. Reading and checking Whitepaper also very very important.
When talking about websites, any expert can design a very attractive website. there are people do that with a price. So now hardly identify scam websites. For that best thing I think is checking website reaches and weight of website.
For the additional point check whether that project has already working product. many of Projects that have already working products became very successful before. So I guess it's a good point to note down.

some good ICOs with clear media and business partners, their teams and advisors are also competent in the targeted fields, but the number of successes is inversely proportional to the failed and even fraudulent ICO, this is very sad because the ICO managed only 1-5 projects this year.

My only criticism is that they need to recruit a team that is able to analyze the market and make the direction of the coin better after ico ends, many developers are confused and ultimately lose focus on developing their projects precisely after distributing or even listing in the market.

Of course not all ICO are a Scam, but the bottom line is that most of the ICO is a Scam. I think that investing in ICO is very dangerous now. In addition, even if the ICO is not a Scam, then with a probability of 100 percent on the exchange, their tokens will come out at a lower price than promised.

It is true that some ICO is not a scam since I already received a reward from one good ICO managed by Amazix. Even reading whitepaper, roadmap, etc.. about ongoing projects yet it is not guaranteed that it pays off once ICO ended. For me, I'll just trust my instinct and hope that I will be blessed with good luck in choosing the ICO I want to participate in.

Yes, there are still trusted and legit ICO's but the problem is that its hard to find them. Good for you, as you joined a good bounty run by Amazix but other are not fortunate as you. I don't know about instinct though, for me its not a good indication. Perhaps we really need to make our own research before participating in any ICO.

I agree. That's why before you do an investment, it is important to do your own research. One ICO I've been keeping an eye on is NeuronChain.
NeuronChain’s blockchain can be widely applied for businesses and individuals like me that are seeking to trade goods, services and assets of any kind. Also we participants have the capability to issue our own programmable tokens and run their dApps and dCards on it. If you'd like to know more about them, visit their website here: http://neuronchain.io/

And also you have to have a team to check the ICO you are following is not a SCAM.
Because with your team it will be strong when things don't happen right.

You will also be easy to claim the problem.

It's bad enough and certainly would make investors also quite confused to sign in and choose to invest in ICO.

Very few ICOs are true scams and started with the only intent to rob investor money. Most scam ICOs do not give team members names and profiles and that is always a big red flag.

Unfortunately, all these keys for choosing a good project are still very risky. Chances of being deceived by a beautiful wrapper are great. In addition, many good potentiality projects may tritely not release a finished product due to mistakes in planning.

Perhaps the choice of the project - the most important and difficult task. Recently, one project offered an unreal pool of bounty and golden mountains for bounty hunters. As a result, he was a fraud. Do not be deceived by huge fees, most likely, this is a hoax.

YES THIS IS 100 PERCENT TRUE.
People call them scam because they didn't go through the project.
Why? Soft cap not reached, though they sent back the investors money.
Still, some participants in bounty can't accept the fact.

Naturally, not all ICO projects are scam. You just need to carefully select and spend a considerable amount of time on it. Always first of all you need to pay attention to the project team, to their communication with the community. A correctly compiled WhitePaper alsoimportant, that is it must be literate, without mistakes. The same goes for the website. I pay attention on these aspects when I choosing a project and while they didn't let me down.

It's a very hard nut to crack when one is trying to differentiate which ICO is scam or not. It's not all about the whitepaper or website. Some make really cool websites with outstanding catchy graphics, to lure potentials investors in. Some write big grammar on whitepaper with extremely good presentations and superb road map, yet they are scam. As for me, the very first thing I look at is the team, proper checks on the team helps before any other factor to consider. Then if there is a working product, atleast  you know the project has a focus. I'm not saying ICOs that present a product or MVP are all genuine, but most with working products are genuine from experience.  Do thorough research before buying in is the key, also know you are taking a risk too so you don't blame anyone.

Number ICOs increased drastically due to higher response from the investors & some scammers have taken the advantage of the investors by scamming them making scam projects. If you check statistics chart of the ICOs the fund raised by ICOs are dropping drastically due to bear market & poor performance of the tokens on the exchange since last 3 months. This is happening due to trust issues between ICOs & investors, Now a days its better to consider following points to along with OP mentioned in this thread :-
1) Investments from Venture capitals
2) Working Product
3) Activities on social media such as twitter & telegram. Also their ANN thread on bitcoin-talk forum & how they answer on questions raised by forum members.

It's actually quite easy to find out if an ICO is a scam or not.
You mentioned linkedin, but that is just hte start.

First off, a simple google of the devs brings up a lot.
If they are reputable, they will have a digital footprint that is legitimate.
If only things related to the ico come up, it is sketchy.

Also, it is quite easy to double check their claims, like where they worked before or what partnerships they have.
If they claim to have worked for a big company, it is easy to reach out to the company and double check.
Even big companies are quick to dissassociate themselves with people they never had business with.
It is a legal thing and you will find response times fairly acceptable.

On the overall, majority of ICO are scam or not really needed in cryptocurrency. Those ICO only launch to collect money from poor investors that didn't make a thorough research and will become a victim once the team leave and stop developing the project.

The very difficult part in investing an ICO is choosing the right project and you have a good idea for choosing an ICO. I salute you for taking a risk investing in an ICO.

I don't see any wrong with His thoughts regarding about the ico, in fact all for what He stated was really true. And mostly, there are still left legits ICO remain and will arise in this field of business too.

I agree with you, even though there are some ICO that have achieved hardcap but there is no guarantee to success, for example like Monvid after ICO ends with their hardcap running away. it seems at this time we need institutions that can protect investors from scam ICO or maybe set term and conditions that are very difficult to run a crowdfunding

Now, when the market is after a strong fall, there are very few such projects that deserve real trust from investors. And while the situation does not change in the direction of the beginning of a bullish trend, I think the number of good projects will remain the same - small.

If there will be an intervention from the regulators and that will put ico on the so many regulations. Some of them are not scam but it's almost more than 90% of them are scam coins. Look at CMC and there were less than 300 coins that's still exist. This is a difficult situation when a good project being disappeared caused by scam ico.

I always first study the project, the roadmap, White Paper. If I do not understand technology, I ask for help in telegram. You must always remember that you are investing your own money and you need to know everything about the company before giving them money.

We should never jump into any ICO with out studying the project.

Yes some of ICO's are not a scam, Actually we can find a good ICO if we have time to search of them.
But we need to be careful always because as of now ill think have some ICO are scam.
Yes, there are ICO project that are legit we just need to read there platform they produce .I believe it's more worth if we're able to decide with our own perception in terms of choosing.Don't ignore other projects because we can't determine the flow how it goes.

If we do not search of them and we invest directly maybe your money will going to lose if the ICO's it was a scam. Must better to ask first and read some of them info.

Your advice is helpful. But scammers are constantly improving the quality of projects. And it aggravates our situation. I make quality sites. Make quality white papers. Even registers sites in those countries that are needed for ICO.

You can try to find their address on the google maps and see the real photos from this place. It can say a quite many about location. And often you can find some info in the linkedin profile.

I see some projects that made a great work without any ICO and other funds raising. That projects need pay attention more then most of ICO

Yeah that is why before we are stepping into a particular project we need to gather informations that will pinpoint their legitimacy. Though there are also ICO's that are considered not scam however they just have a less potential idea or some might have failed due to lack of exposure. That is why I love being a bounty hunter because I only need to invest my time and effort and the risk I take is minimal unlike big players that invest their own money.

Yes, I do agree, some ICOs are not Scam! Research and checking is an important factor before any investment. I love projects with useful and practical products. But, the team delivery is important too. The team MUST be dedicated to deliver. I love the actual ARROUND ico, and I see the practicality behind it. However, like many other good projects, the team HAS TO deliver in the long run.. https://arround.io

It is true what you say that we cannot generalize that all ICOs are scams. There are still a number of trusted ICOs because I myself have benefited from several ICOs who are truly responsible. Our main key to determining whether an ICO is responsible or just fraud is in our thoroughness and carefulness in choosing the ICO. I oblige myself to know in full and in depth about ICO that I will follow from reading the whitepaper. After reading the whitepaper, I will make an analysis so that it will be clearly illustrated about the future of the ICO. Only from the results of the analysis did, I decide to join the ICO or not. Indeed there are ICOs that are only deceptive or fake but there are still some who are trusted.

To be honest, some ICO is not scam.I said this because there are still icos that are specific on the problems it aims to solve.I have also seen ICO that shows the correct details ,country and the career of the developers behind the project ,and this helps one to carry out proper research and review.
The ico that shows the correct details of the developers will not exit scam because the team won't like to be prosecuted by the court.Even if they fail to achieve the hardcap ,they will refund every investors his money, but if they hit both softcap and hardcap ,they will do 80% of what they wrote on the white paper.
Intact,if you go through the problems the developers of real ICO want to solve, you will find out they just want to profer solutions on a problem using blockchain technology.Note ,you will also find out the developers ate people who have proven themselves in different capacities especially where they have worked.

Of course, some ICOs are not scamm. But there are very few of them, in order not to fall for scamm projects, you must first read the website then later on the campaign and its ratings. It is better to spend some time on this than do the work for half a year and in the end - scamm

yes, that is true if we do research in cyberspace, but also need to know about the project being developed by participating from each seminar held by the developer to what extent the project has been running to strengthen the level of trust to be able to join the existing ICO.

Of course, 81% of ICOs are deceptive. Still, 19% of the ICO is good and can be profitable.
The way you talked about is really the best way to choose a good ICO. I added a way to choose ICO based on softcap or near the hardcap, it is worth doing ICO.

Not Just in investing in ICO, but also that any investment has its risk. So we should not be carried away by some enticing words, rather do our own research and be sure of what we are into.
One of the things i always look at before investing in a project, most especially on the part of website. If the CEO or developer of a project cannot give a good and mature website, i can't trust such.

I guess there is no reason to know their true location because as you can see, the word "true" says it all. Why do they need to hide their location? The answer is because they might have some bad things going on. So, to check an ICO, they should have their address and they should be proud of it to consider not a scam.

How can all ICOs be scam? In fact only a small percentage of all ICOs turn out to be entirely scam. Some ICOs become unsuccessful due to technical, team, or marketing problem and not necessarily a scam. It is always good to make a thorough research on a project before choosing to join its ICOs.

Soon there will be more regulation introduced in different regions including a global set of standards for ICO's

This will mean that projects will need to register with the relevant authority or apply for a license to conduct a fund raiser which will provide consumers with some level of protection for their investments and help legitimize the industry and eradicate scams

Yes of course not all ico are scams. In fact there are still many ico who don't scam. Some projects with good developers and teams will definitely be consistent in working on the project. The tips you describe are certainly very helpful. But it would be better if in the future there is a special team that makes regulations in the ico program.

I also read the news about it. In the future ICO will be tightened so that no more ICO scam. And also for investors, they will be protected if the price is below the price of ico when the listing is exchanged. If assets fall from the ico price to 80%, the funds may be returned. Therefore ICO is now better and reduces ICO scam. And in the future investors will also be calm if they invest in ICO.

many are caught up in the scam that ICO because they too are promised results without analyzing and deeper look at the ICO. This is what many a mistake because Miss analysis in the beginning then it will not be able to understand the project and finally fell in the scam. check the whitepaper and find out the identity of the team is the foundation that must be done for the ICO.

In the world of trade, if you don't lose, then profit.
Same thing with ICO, if the ICO is successful it will be profitable and if the ICO fails it will become a loss.

ICO must also have a certificate from the country that organizes it so that the ICO gets protection from the law.

Due to the decline in market prices, some ICOs have had difficulties in maintaining projects and meeting their targets, because investors' interest has also declined. Unfortunately, the number of fraudulent ICOS is much higher. But there are definitely good projects. And investors are afraid that the project will not be able to realize itself.

Thanks for the advice, I agree with you. Self-analysis of the project, allows you to learn more about it and make sure that it is working professionals who will make the finished product and will not be scammers. Even visual familiarity with the site, checking for errors, the number of users in social networks and their activity can already tell you a lot. But it is impossible to get a full guarantee that participation in the ICO is guaranteed to be successful.

Trace them from their linkedin page to current or former place of work. If for example he worked with PWC, his LinkedIn connections must have pwc friends. Check how often he posts on LinkedIn and when he Registered on LinkedIn. Some of them clam to have worked with Google for 4 years, pwc 3 years and yet a 4 months old LinkedIn account. Investing in an ICO may be risky, but like he said it's also profitable. But the point in investing in an ICO shouldn't always be about the financial gains. Though a large percentage of people do so because of it, however, the solutions being provided have a larger economic impact. I'd give you an example. Hinounou wants to conduct an ICO, it's an already established business with partnerships and all. But the idea of doing an ICO is to leverage blockchain technology. They have also hinted that They will not be giving out special bonuses to early backers - which I think it's their way of discouraging 'profit-alone' mindset. Read about them, there's more to the story though, and you'd find that there is more credibility in ICOs than meets the eye.

Of course some ICOs are not scam because most of the coins in the crypto market is came from ICOs. ICOs are used for funding a coin for its development and growth. ICOs are also good investment because you'll be able to be the early birds since the price are given so low before the demand of the market grows.

Truly speaking some projects are genuine, the only thing is that the scam projects has made everyone to assume and suspect all genuine projects if they are scam or not.

Most likely in the next few weeks - until the end of December - there will be a very good time to start buying alts, but you should not rush when buying because only those projects that have a working product can be the safest to buy, such coins will be the safest for investment, the rest of the ICO deserve much less attention.

Not only that, the ICO is likely to be hit by the current decline in bitcoin prices. and investors will run away with their losses. I do not understand whether ico still has a future. there must be new regulations that protect investors so that investors feel safe with their assets.

Scam ICO's existed because their were real ones, you cannot have an adulterated product without its original existing somewhere, here what is more worrisome is the proliferation of scam projects with all the appearance of the original and making it hard to distinguish

It is really hard to trust so many ICOs existing in our crypto community. Unfortunately, nowadays many existing ICO platforms are seem to be scam. Not all but most of them are being handle by fake people who only wants our money then afterwards run it away. Everybody should be investigative before trusting. I believe that there are legit ICO projects but only few.

Yes, in such a falling market, when even a bitcoin more or less stable coin falls by 15 percent per day, you can forget about ico projects. Almost in all ico projects that are right now there are problems with financing, if last year they could collect $ 100 million, then right now up to 10 units of current reach.

Yeah, I agree with you. In last year we saw many good ICOs most of them give profit and they still are working perfectly. But after that some ICOs start to scam people and many of them failed. So investors and general people start to think that ICO investment is not good anymore. But I still think and it's true that there is many good ICOs are growing. And they just want to do something for this blockchain and crypto ecosystem. Now it's investors part to find them. Don't go for someone's word and invest somewhere. Do some research by yourself like study whitepaper and one pager. Read the website check advisory board and team members profile. Then go for investment. And in this market don't expect 10-20x. ICOs are always risk. Be careful.

Knowing the ICO to invest in these days, can sometimes be challenging and so e scam ICOs can disguise to be real. Which is why we need to do a lot of work in our research. What i do sometimes is, if i have $100 to invest in an ICO, for instance, I would first invest half of it, to reduce my risk level. Then for some times again, i would continue with my research. When i am now very sure of its authenticity, i can then invest the remaining half.

It is necessary to choose projects for participation in ICO more carefully, there are not many such projects, but they are also worthy for investment. Many investors are afraid of scams and correctly do to find a good project it is necessary to analyze and study these projects a lot.

Despite the many ICOs that are frankly fraudulent, there are units that are really interesting and workable projects. Their teams not only successfully conduct ICOs but also continue to develop and promote them. Participation in such projects can now be considered luck.

May I reconstruct the sentence. Not all ICO are scam. This means that there is really a good or maybe great ICO thats why you can see many tokens succeed in this chaoter just like ethereum having a good platform and still kicking at its finest. Maybe the market is down as of now but i still believe that it will recover next year.

It is not enough to find a good project, it is important that the project manages to enter the market, because more than half of the projects have problems with the implementation of the idea and the listing of the coin. In addition, no one wants to enter a falling market, this is fraught with negative consequences for the entire project.

Actually, Its very hard to identify a good ICO in the market because all of them is the same. Maybe you can Identify if they were a scam or not when you already a member of them. Because you can experience lots of problem and you can analyze if that ICO is worth it to your hardwork or not. Looking by their whitepaper is easy to fool because its the same with other ICO's vision in their project.

As a whole, no. There are some scams out there, certainly but the biggest risk is generally that the platform doesn’t get built, doesn’t work, isn’t adopted by a critical mass, etc.

About 90% or more of these platforms don’t or won’t get built, either because they lack access to the talent, they pivot, have a bad team, run out of funds, fail to prove concept all the reasons any startup fails. But that doesn’t mean they acted nefariously.

There were still legit ICOS  and profitable one but nowadays people were suck on the existence of lots of scam projects in which it works well in the beginning and sudden changes at the end.Projects looks promising, developers looks legitimate but at the end of the day it runs away investors money.Seems so annoying but we still have to believe that someday this hearless people will dissappear and ICOS would become more profitable and functional.

There are so many legit ICO's in the market which it is very hard to predict them in the market but the only choice we have is to research them in order to find a potential project. Of course, daily we are seeing many fake projects with no real product and raising money without any development in order to scam the people.

Don't argue for the ICO any more. In fact, there are many scams in the ICO. Countless investors have been tricked into leaving the cryptocurrency, which has caused the current bitcoin price to be sluggish and the miners to go bankrupt. In this way, the entire cryptocurrency market will disappear, please don't be so optimistic.

Not all ICO'S are sCam but many are scam. No lies in what you said and the clues in investing you gave is perfect. Reasons why many people fall for scam projects is not researching well about the project. There are some ICo's that glaringly spells scam and even without researching much one would know but people still fall for it. Still yet, involving in ICo's is a risk.
