Having a nice flashy website helps to attract investors but remember it is not proof that the ICO is not a scam. These websites can be bought with a template for a low cost, and a cheap IT worker might be willing to fill it in for a few coins.

Always will there be scams in a new industry trying to take advantage of the people. It's non avoidable. There are many ICOs which are doing well and have actual use cases and some already working products.

Yes of course, some of the ICO is not scam, don’t ever consider that all ICO are scam because they are not, there’s some people use the name of iCO to earn an income even if in the bad way, just be wise.

Hello, let me clear this doubt some people said that all ICO is a scam but I don't believe them because I have invested in some ICO and make a good fortune, let me give you some clue to invest.
1. When you want to invest first of all research about the particular ico you want to invest in, try to check their Whitepaper because some ICO copy text from another ICO white papers
2. Try to check their LinkedIn profile though that does'nt matter because some fake LinkedIn profile.
3.Try to know their real location even though some use VPN to hide their location.
4.website professional matters a lot because some don't even know how to build website and they are claiming that they are in to Blockchain
5. Despite all this..involving in ICO is a big risk

Good tips, thank you for that. Yeah, engaging oneself into ICO is a really risky thing, so gotta be really careful. To find a good ICO project is really hard, but I've found one with all the key features (web, wp, mvp, linkedin profiles, active social communication). This is Cryptics - AI forecasting, trading engine, bots, funds and stuff. I think it's gotta be really promising

All your points are all correct but unfortunately all these scammers knows what you are going to look at their project, so they are going to try very hard to make their ico as legit to your eye as possible, you need an extra mile to do a good research to know what you are investing into

No one claimed that all ICO's are scams. The thing is that most ICO's drop in terms of their eth value when they hit the exchange, and hence people start panicking and saying that the ico is a scam. Its part of what bear market brings to us.

Correct, involving ICO always has risk. It is still a hit or miss when it comes to ICO investment. Even with a good background and profile, they might still failed to deliver.

Yes maybe some ICOs are not scam, but we don't know which one is scam, sometime eventhough the project is looking good, but it can be a scam project, anyway before you join ICO, you must think many times before invest your money into ICO.

I agree. There are still a lot of ICOs out there which are not scams and they actually have promising projects with good products to offer. The problem is that the market is so saturated with scam coins that it is now very hard to tell which Icos are the legit ones and which icos are the scams

Yes, it's true, some projects are not really scam, but many projects look like scam, maybe they are not finalized, but overall I get such an impression. I can not speak for everyone, but this is my personal opinion. There are very few normal projects now.

Indeed. But still, not ICOs with great website interfaces are legitimate. Some scammers are skillful as well. They can deceive you with impressive whitepaper contents, professional-like website graphics etc. Why? Their effort of dishonesty will be paid off well when a lot of people will be persuaded.

Yes, I agree with you that some of ICO is not scam, because they only saying that the ICO is scam because of the others project and even though 70% of it are fake we have still 30% of ICO project are perfect.

Not all ICO's are scams, that is never true. Most of them are real, I mean the real ones are more than the fake ones. ICO's who's developers are known are most promising, good websites, a viable whitepaper and real images of developers, not avatars. Read white papers and know the idea behind the project.

This forum sometimes meets information that allegedly all ICO are fraud. This, of course, is greatly exaggerated. Someone simply begins to write a topic after being deceived into some kind of ICO and therefore he writes that absolutely all ICO projects are fraud. Many projects continue to be very useful and promising, they create a real useful product and bring new convenience to people. In general, ICO projects are a very useful activity. If it is regulated by the states, then the demand for the ICO will be very high.

This is obviously true. Based on my observations, 50% of all ICOs are scams or worthless while remaining 50% turn out to be legit whose coins or tokens possess value. The biggest problem is no one knows which ICO is legit or scam until the last moment which is what makes this a risky market to invest into. This is why I feel regulation is good and healthy to help reduce the scams and useless ICOs in the market on the whole.
