Title: What are your thoughts on energy projects?
Post by: bstewart on June 17, 2018, 09:39:49 PM
There is a lot of talk of various projects and the future of the market but I am curious on everyone's opinions on the future of blockchain energy projects like Power Ledger, Restart Energy, Sun Contract, etc.

Do you think these really have the potential to completely change the way people buy and sell energy?

Yes but I think it will take a little more than a token to do so. I personally think crypto will accelerate green energy adoption in the long run but to actually make a P2P energy economy possible you need infrastructure.

I see good future for this projects and want to invest in ElonCity project in August-2018 because it will be the best of all green energy projects.

I think Yes as long they use a cryptocurrecy as their pay method in their platform i think their project will be successful. And it will be useful for all of us that using energy every day.

Of course, in a long run, these types of blockchain energy projects has the potentials to be exactly what we need in the near future and also today. Robotina is also an energy project platforms that also involved in buy and sell energy without owning an energy plant. Common yet very much useful to everyone. Gonna invest more with these kinds of projects.

Smart resource consumption I think is an inevitability and one that is enabled by blockchain. It's simply superior to share energy and not waste when there is no need to, and blockchain is the missing component that can allow simple sharing. I think it's viable to participate in energy projects, making sure of course that you're getting involved in a solid project and not some snake oil.

Good question. Sun Contract ICO has started last year isn't it? But we still haven't felt the impact of it. So I think it will take years, probably 5 - 10 years to realized the full potential of such projects. Unless some well know big players in the Energy industry started to promote as the best alternatives in today's power and energy issue, then it could take off. However, for me its too early to say if it will bring the needed change in the way people consume or buy or sell energy. Also, I think the government should spearhead some of the projects, I think its also one good reason to see its impact on a country at least.

yes, I think such a project is one of the projects that has good potential. but the success of a project can not rely on one thing, the success of a project depends on many things, including a team of developers, partnerships, development programs, regulations, and so on.

So far, even the main blockchains such as (Ethereum, Waves, Neo, Bitcoin etc) do not enjoy world popularity, they are not used for large transactions, they are not used in trade between large campaigns or states. It is necessary that the main crypto-currencies take their place in the world economy. After that, projects for the energy sector will have real benefits and work to the full.

I think they have great potential, also add wepower in your list, i think they will revolutionize the energy market in coming years, their tokens are also severely undervalued at the moment and soon we will see market growing again that will help in the value of these tokens to grow as well.

Everyone talks about all these ways that some project based on the blockchain would be able to change the world but be honest, how many of them ever actually have some influence when it comes to the industries they try to break into? I can't see power ledger breaking out anytime soon, and honestly it just seems to be a means of selling a token on a dream that'll likely never be realized. But I'd love to eat my words in a situation like that. There are some legitimate tokens that have some promise that are a lot easier to use and have a better target audience, like the Theta token project or the Fanchain (yes I'm getting paid by them by the project at least makes sense). Most of the time these token ICOs and projects dream big but can't really compete against the existing infrastructure and framework we have. Or at least not in a way that makes sense.

There are recent attempt of most energy ventures migrating to blockchain. With greenhouse effect and renewable energy and  hydropowers. Energy sector is one place that is benefiting from the development of blockchain.

energy projects should be a project to watch out for. because, after all, projects that have energy themes require enormous capital because it is not trivial.
Today we see more and more about energy project, but i also doubt about it

Since there is a growing concern over energy issues i think these energy based crypto projects will soon become a huge industry, some countries have poor energy resources and if these project can pull through and conduct their business everywhere soon their coins will surely go to moon regardless of market conditions.

Yeah it was last year like July or something? They were the first to bring their energy project to market. But it doesn't seem to have had a positive impact on their price.

The energy industry is becoming more popular. Now alternative energy sources are developing, therefore, such projects will always be relevant and necessary. It's clear that not everyone will be able to realize themselves as always, but pay attention to them.

Hi khufuking,

Actually, Restart Energy's Mwat, has the perfect way of transferring energy: their franchise system. If you own minimum 10k tokens (about $500 at the current mwat value), you can open a franchise in your city. That means that, for instance, if you are from Toronto and you open your franchise there, someone from Danemark could send you the tokens - witch you could transform into energy. Keep in mind that Restart Energy already have like 300 franchises all around the world. I hope the explanation you needed is here! :)

Yes, I think so in the long-term. At the moment crypto is infamous for being a waste of energy - the huge resources expended on BTC mining for example. So I'm not sure whether this existing notoriety will be a good thing or a bad thing for a crypto energy project. Certainly it can't start from a lower base, so I suppose the only way is up.

"10,000 MWAT - RED City Franchise – Allows the token holder to broker energy sales in their city of choice,
within their country of residence. Multiple city franchises can operate within the same city and will be
coordinated by Restart Energy or the Type A Franchise that operates within that country.
100,000 MWAT - RED Regional Franchise - Allows the token holder to broker energy sales in an entire
region of their country of residence. Same as with City Franchises, multiple regional franchises can coexist.
1,000,000 MWAT - Red Country Franchise - Allows token holders to sell energy in their entire country of
residence. As per the previous tiers, multiple country franchises can coexist.
+10,000,000 MWAT - RED Master Franchise - Gives the token holders exclusive rights to their country of
residence and the option to create sub-franchises inside it - meaning there can only be one Master Franchise
per country. The amount is dependent on the country's population."

The future energy is very close! Many companies and industries are already using the alternative sources of energy for their own purposes. We hope that cryptography will accelerate the pace of development of this direction. The main thing is that the token was with real technology in practice!

What is Restart Energy?
Restart Energy is the fastest growing private energy and gas provider operating in an EU country (Romania), an independent European Union electricity and gas supply company with USD 20 million in current annual revenue that developed the first energy retail franchise is building a global decentralized and delocalized electrical energy supply platform and ecosystem. The best thing about them is that they are in the energy business since 2014. That means that they already have a customer base, and they know how the energy business works.

I'm really bullish on the idea of a decentralized system for buying / selling renewable energy, especially solar.

The problem is, i don't see how this will be implemented in a decentralized way because energy requires hardware. Without hardware that connects electricity from one country to another, we cannot build decentralized grids. Implementation wise, there will still be a lot of centralization. When centralization happens, what then makes this company different from (or more importantly, what makes it better than) existing electric companies? Nothing.

I hold these three tokens. I believe in the future of more rational use of energy. Not soon governments will allow the development of a decentralized energy market. But these projects seem to me not yet mature. I think it will be many more years before they work at full strength.

Restart Energy is the one with the experience - they operate from 2015. As for "work at full strength", I'm not sure there will be at full strength until all of these projects reach the final step of the ROAD MAP, until then, they are in a continuous growth.

I kind of like the ideas of these tokens. But all of them have been performing poorly. Maybe because there is just too little adoptions and too many energy giants with much larger budgets still control the market.

I think I can explain. By opening a franchise with RED ( Restart Energy Democracy ) you will get the hardware (power plants and grids) you require. With the hardware in your city, you can pay your electricity with their tokens - Mwat. The decentralized part comes with the possibility for the customer to buy the energy directly from the producer, with no middle man - cheaper bills.

I really like the idea about these energy related projects like powerLedger which was a great success and Kwhcoin which didn't reach it's soft cap due to people not really understanding their project details. This type of project may be suucessful in future when crypto will lead in power business but at this time no infrastuctural development is there due to which they can't grow any further. The big power housed still dominates the market with strong influence on public

Energy is essential for living so this could be considered as a need. A project that utilizes cryptocurrency for energy improvement is theoretically a great concept and could have a great potential in the coming years. There is a chance that these projects could revolutionize the way of buying and selling energy worldwide.

Energy projects based on cryptocurrencies have far-reaching prospects. Modern society is moving towards renewable energy sources. The sun is the source that will be used more and more often and in the future will completely abandon obsolete hydrocarbons and nuclear energy in favor of the sun wind water. And these are definitely the future

Do you think these really have the potential to completely change the way people buy and sell energy?
It always be good to go with the projects which do have realistic goals. I'm well aware of these energy projects some did able to gain value when it comes to their tokens but I'm not seeing on the proposed plans that they do have introduced when they are still on the ICO sale. Its seems that most of them would just forget and focus on how to market their tokens rather than on pursuing on what they do promise to deliver.

I think it's very good for people, if the energy would be tradable, we would behave in different way at all to the nature sources of energy, I follow these projects which you wrote and all of them have great ideas about energy.

All i know this time is WPP Energy project, i find this project a very useful one, because it is backed with government projects as well. My thoughts is that, i like the idea that making it based on blockchain technology.

I see many ideas but I do not see a lot of reality, the ideas are good and all but I have yet to see a project that has a definitive and convincing plan about how to make reality their ideas and taking that into consideration I think that most of those projects will fail.

No.

They have good ideas and proposals about energy but what happened? is anyone of them are really pursuing what they are proposing? I don't think so. The same pattern like the early ones and if there's a legit one that's pushing it, I think its very few and won't go that much to the best of our expectation.

I believe in such projects. I think their future. But as practice shows, after entering the market, at the moment, they do not give big profits. Let's hope for better results in the future.

I think most of these projects are good. Power ledger and restart energy have real customers and industry partners so going to do well as they grow.

Very excellent and advanced projects. I think the future behind alternative energy sources and electric vehicles. After all, oil reserves are not limitless and very harmful to the environment. And here is such a beautiful and most importantly new, bringing no less profit and efficiency.

Energy projects are really good and useful especially in the future. I've seen some energy projects and they're looking really great and I think the value of their tokens will be really valuable.

I think energy projects and teams of power ledger and restart energy are very good. Some others also may be good but do not know about all.

Pay attention to another energy project, which is currently conducting its tokensale (by the way, less than two weeks left) - this is WPP Energy. While the market is not in the best condition right now, they managed to raise more than $ 30 million.

I think with the current concern of climate change and many more environmental issues that that we are facing, it is just and correct that people and companies are turning into projects that is concern with energy or related to energy. I believe in this kind of project as long as it is legitimate. Anyway, goodluck to this kind of projects.
