I've just visit Philippines to have an vacation. I glad to know that Philippines accepting Bitcoin as payments, like Mr. D’s Artisanal Sundries  i buy prepared smoked and cured meats, such as bacon or corned beef and i pay BTC :) it's so very nice that Philippines is belong to the Cryptoworld  :)

I'm glad you find a merchant that offers bitcoin payment here in the Philippines. If I remember it correctly Artisanal Sundries is located in Makati City. Not only that, there is also Wirin Cupcakery and The Bunny Baker that offers bitcoin payments. My only advise is to always be cautious for bitcoin is still not regulated in the Philippines just to avoid scam.

I'm from the Philippines and I do not know that and I will drop by sometimes on that store to check this and try bitcoin as my payment. Were the food is delicious? and reasonable for the price? because it seems too pricey.

But hey, that's a good thing, if the store is using any other wallet or merchant I guess sending money would take for several minutes unless they used coins.ph and there client as well, so btc/fund will be transfered instantly without waiting of any confirmation.

That's very nice to know that Philippines are really part of cryptocurrency system and not like just part of it because this is the of the country's that early implementing bitcoin as a terms of payments on some industries, establishment or stores all over the world even it's not already legalizing bitcoin in their respective country. Thus, I'm really agree to the idea that we need to be still careful because there's a lot of scammers that sorround everywhere.

Our government supports the crypto currency but no specific token. Most of our OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers) are using bitcoin to send money to their families and relatives. Our top 1 exchange here (BTC to Fiat "PHP") is coins.ph. More and more merchants are starting to accept bitcoin as payment. and I do believe that my country Philippines is crypto friendly.

Just be careful with your transaction (sending or buying bitcoin person to person) because there are many bitcoin scammers here. Just use the official or accepted exchanges. coins.ph or rebit.ph

This is really nice to know that in Philippines their are merchants accepting the btc as a payment mode and by this we wil have the real use of the btc as well. If such situation arise in across countries the digital payment will become the king and everyone will start using it.

You have just punctured whatever the objective he set to achieve by making such claim. When I saw the posts, I was a little bit skeptical because but didn't want to jump into conclusion by casting some doubt on his assertions. Taking a look at it, someone who went on a vacation and wanted to narrate it, would not just focus on the few things he was able to enjoy and thereby conclude that Philippines is a crypto country but it would encompass the entire journey right from the moment of dropping from the airport to the point of vacation. Utilizing cryptocurrency in a country can establish trust from other countries that can be a stepping stone for the world to finally recognize bitcoin not with its image that it will be used in scams, black markets and illicit activities but with its advantage over traditional fiat.

With this progress sooner or later the Bitcoin currency in the Philippines will be regulate as its gaining more popularity in the whole country. I don't know if we will going to happy or not as currently we are earning much Bitcoin without tax that soon that it will call the full attention of our government and the Central bank then the possibility of collecting Bitcoin tax will become possible.

One of my travel buddy gone to Southeast Asia like Philippines and have experienced it himself.. Now I believe in him as I thought she’s just kidding around.. She even used one particular wallet called coins.ph for much easier and faster transaction.. Great that this country even without much news about it’s cryptocurrency adaptation has providing such service for bitcoin users like us..

There are now lots of establishments here in the Philippines which are starting to accept Bitcoin payments. There are restaurants such as Punta Mandala and the one you've mentioned. This is a good start in our country. It only means that we are open for the possibility that crypto will be the future currency.

It is good to know that there are shops here in my country that offers bitcoin payment. This is a proof that bitcoin is now being popular, not only in other countries but also here in the Philippines. You're right, we have to be careful to avoid people from scammers.

Philippines are considered as not a rich country compared to other different country's but I'm so glad to know that this country are not too late to the enhancement and embracing new technologies. Even Philippines are not have so better economy in their country still they are involved in bitcoin system. If I'm not mistaken I've heard some news that there are certain issue in their country regarding to bitcoin scamming but now they prove that even there are some foolish people there that doing scam they still believe to the bitcoin system that's why some of their stores there are already accepting bitcoin in term of payment and that will gives a big credit to Bitcoin. I am from the Philippines and I did not know that there is a resto here that accepts BTC as payment. All I know is there is a bitcoin ATM here in Makati. Good to know, maybe sooner or later many establishments will now accept crypto as payment.

It will not take several minutes. If you know how to swift private keys it is noticeably faster than Master card and Visa. Even faster than Steem which produces blocks every three seconds. Philippines truly is the haven for Bitcoin but creating a cloud of doubt, including stating that you need coins.ph for faster processing is fake news.If you know how to use Bech 32/Segwit it will be faster and the mining fees are less by almost 90%. Learn more about Bitcoin before saying that the processing is slow. Remember that you only need six confirmations for your transaction to be accepted. If you don't know that it might be because you are using online wallets.

Well i am glad that at least some countries are coming to terms to accepting bitcoin as a currency accepted for mode of transactions. I think gradually we are moving to the stage where bitcoin is going to be accepted by other countries in order to finally accomplish the vision of Satoshi Nakamoto our great inventor. Surprisingly compared to other country in Asia Philippines are the first one that has started do accepting payment in some stores or establishments in their country. It's really unexpected that among other rich countries all over the world Philippines are much more active in terms of new technologies and really aware in bitcoin system even it's not totally legalized it to their country. is it real? i think philipines is not active in cryptocurrencies work, but i shocked that you buy some stuff in philipines and pay with bitcoin, how about the rate of bitcoin? is it same if you using paper money or not? i think it will more expensive if you use bitcoin as the payment

First before you argue with my statement try to research first what's the capability of the wallet/exchange I mentioned. I'm not opposed of the idea of segwit since I'm using it. But using different wallets for the client and the merchant in the local store which will goes to the network and wait for the confirmation at least 6.

And waiting for 3-10 minutes or more only for paying and confirming the transaction from the network is too long especially if you're in the local store. But using coinsph after you click the send button it will not takes 10 seconds the btc is received already by the receiver and it will never required of any transaction fee.


Let say you know what you're talking about, as for your knowledge bitcoin confirmation have an average of 10 minutes to find each block and obviously before it got at least 1 confirmation, but since you mentioned segwit, let say it will take only 3-6 minutes and since you mentioned that it will only need 6 confirmation, then 3 (minimum minutes of confirmation in segwit) x 6 = 18. Or let say it will confirm at least 2 minutes so 2x6 =12, so you will wait 12-18 minutes or more of waiting in the line of the local store. Are you kidding me?

this is encouraging news for Bitcoiners in Southeast Asia, Philippines again opened Bitcoin transactions there. there must be a passion arising in the capital of Manila. hopefully will spread to other countries. ;D

Wow! That is great, I'm just hearing it for the first time. I know with time many will start accepting bitcoin for payments. I know of one company in USA accepting bitcoin for payments of good and services and still accepting till date. They have strong believe on Blockchain technology that is why they are doing so. If each country start accepting bitcoin for payments before will know it bitcoin will moon to $100,000 or more. For me I have strong believe on Blockchain technology because it will change the world for good. So no matter the price of bitcoin we should take advantage of this technology for good.

Yeah, I have heard that some are planning to accept BTC as payment in philippines, but I don't know that there are already businesses accepting it. Its good though. 

I'm not from the Philippines. In my country, too, you can buy goods for bitcoins in some stores. It is most often online shopping. But I noticed this feature. To buy the same goods for a cheaper Fiat. It is more profitable for me to sell bitcoin and replenish the Bank card with this money. Then pay for purchases with Bank cards.

Philippines and South East Asia are booming with the interest, innovation and investment in cryptocurrency. Nobody knows from which part of the world, inspiration will spread to the rest of the world to accept cryptocurrency completely. I do certainly hope that a bright future begins from here simply because of the sheer scale of adoption of cryptocurrency among people.

Tourism is a great area from where the use of BTC and the rest of the crypto coins can be promoted. Naturally, the same will percolate into the daily use of that country's day to day living. Yes,bitcoin is widely accepted as a mode of payment here in the Philippines, you can pay bills through bitcoin and you do not have to wait in line. But I do not prefer paying in bitcoins.

Yeah i've read a couple of articles that among all the southeast asian countries, the philippines is the most bitcoin friendly where people freely use, earn and transact in bitcoin. I read even their central banks are lenient towards cryptocurrencies

when you are skinny guy like me and you use btc to pay on stores here in the PH, you'd be lucky enough if the people around you wouldn't suspect you're a scammer. while i took my food and go out, some of the people were looking to me from head to heels. BTC is known for being scam here in the PH.

Yes philippines are now embraving crypto currency, i already read on the news that some banks, hotels and some of the stores inside malls are accepting bitcoin as payment. Bitcoin in the philippines are widely use it started to a convinient store called 7/11 its a place tto buy snacka and drinks and pay using bitcoin and you can,also buy bitcoin here.

You can use Coins.ph if you need to exchange BTCBTCBTC to PHP, or even pay more shops that accept Coins.ph payments but doesn't do directly with BTCBTCBTCBTC.

We all know that mostly all countries now are accessing crypto business, but the system is not directly manage with the power of government, although some governments leaders are supports cryptocurrency business but I don't believe that there's a implementation of any establishments that accepts bitcoin as payment to purchase any products, maybe it is only beyond the owner of that certain establishment who decided to accept bitcoin as payment, and that certain owner of establishment is also a crypto enthusiast because they know how to access and use bitcoin.

Yes I live in the Philippines and I can consider our country as a crypto currency friendly country. We can easily convert Bitcoin to FIAT and Vice versa.  Once turned to FIAT we can have an option for cash to be delivered in front of our house. That is how easy we can get cash using Bitcoin.

Bitcoin also has many ways to make our payment here in the Philippines because it also gives you a big discount. And it is also a great feeling that the person who works here in the forums is like me because the income is huge in the bounty so it becomes our job.

I'm also from the Philippines and it's quite nice to hear that the Bitcoin payment is available not only here in our place but in the other part of the country too. As a Filipino, I am proud that we are being part of this revolutionary technology and that it is already being implemented as a way of payment. I am also using Bitcoin as a way to pay my bills and to cash out money without using any banks which is great because they won't know where I am getting my money at. More people from Asia are using cryptocurrency as their mode of payment. There is a increase demand for bitcoin in the philippine because more people particularly the younger ones are using bitcoin in their online transactions. Stores and even some public transport are offering as a payment but this is still limited in the national capital.

I checked too, and he speaks Filipino language and just what you have said he posted on a local Philippines thread using its native language, I think this man is promoting his country because it is accepting Bitcoin on some of the stores in there. Bitcoin is not legalize yet in the Philippines but it is not illegal if you use Bitcoin at your own risk. I think that the Philippine government will be implementing rules and regulations soon for the usage of this technology. 8)

The place you visited is in the Makati Business District, I think in that area its not the only one who accepts Bitcoin as payments. But, that is in Makati area, not every City in the Philippines accept Bitcoin as payment, only a few establishments here in the Philippines are accepting Bitcoins, most of them are restaurants. I don't think there's an appliance store here that accepts Bitcoins.

Really not that familiar to stores accepting bitcoin as payment. All I know is that there is a Philippine digital wallet from which you can buy prepaid load, or pay electricity or other utilities by paying either in Peso or in BTC. Kudos to those stores accepting crypto as payment. You guys made a difference.

I am so glad to read this post and I am really happy from my inside also. Bitcoin has also been so popular among all and we all wants that bitcoin will be use for general transactions and payments and I feel very happy if someone or some country is accepting bitcoin in exchange of any general commodity. There are countries who are accepting bitcoin for general transactions like South Korea, japan, Florida and now the Philippines, this is really very good and I am just waiting for the day when bitcoin will be legalised world wide.

There are still many countries that receive bitcoin as a means of payment, you can visit Japan to prove it. I guess for the payment system using bitcoin is still less desirable, many of them consider bitcoin very worthy to be used as an investment place. For the means of payment they can use the money fiat to do so.

Hmm I think that is the good thing about the Philippines.  Even though it is a developing country,  the mere fact that Filipinos are very active in the digital world makes them easily adapt to the crypto world. Philippines, before,  are the most active nationality in messaging. They are very active that is why most of them are aware on what is happening in the digital world. Maybe some are fooled,  but majority of Filipinos are literate not just in the digital world but also with regard to cryptocurrencies. I am a Filipino but I considered myself as literate in this field. I think time is the only thing that is needed for Luther businesses here to adapt cryptocurrencies as a payment or in transactions.

Yes you are right that Philippines was embracing the cryptoworld not like before that the government banned bitcoin but right now we are free to earn and to use bitcoin for our daily transaction so for us it is easy to use like for shopping, payment bills like in restaurant, cable bills, electricity water bills, credit cards and we have also shopping online that accepting bitcoin as payment so now Philippines os one of who using bitcoin for daily transaction.

In relation to the topic, It would be better if we could use bitcoin like how we use GCash in most of the establishments here in the Philippines. I notice that a lot of Filipinos are frequently using GCash as a means of payment and think what could happen if we use bitcoin instead.

It is a good thing that my home country is slowly accepting bitcoin as payment, especially small stores in the Philippines which I'm really proud of my homeland. Next time when I'll be able to go visit back home I will surely go to that store to eat, they are also being smart for investing their money by accepting bitcoin as payment which they can gain more and or they can invest into the long-term investment. My brothers and sister are now living in Manila somewhere in Taguig City and for sure that merchant is not too far from their residence. Bitcoin was already regulated by the Central Bank of the Philippines that's why some shops or merchant accept bitcoin as payment. We also have a digital wallet, coins.ph. It also can be used in many transactions. And for the scammer thing, I do not deny that. There are many scammers in the country. I don't understand these "acceptance" of bitcoin in some place as payment news. The best acceptance bitcoin can have, if we look back in 2017, is from Japan and Korea examples... there merchants are OK in accepting as it has reglementation. But there is a catch, right now we can have bitcoin payments almost any where in the word through a third party, for example bitstamp lets you set up an bitcoin address on which you can send bitcoin and automaticly convert to fiat at the exchange price, or bitpay and others. The problem is, of course, that you have to have a way to create a receipt with the total amount to give to the customer in order for him to send to and this has to be official. 

I am happy to know that in the Philippines you meet traders who accept Bitcoin as a payment mode and we are increasingly convinced that the adoption of Bitcoin is increasingly widespread. If such situations arise in various countries digital payments will become kings and everyone will start using them.
