Yes, we switched off Ethereum to NEM for a few reasons such as faster transaction and lower transactions fees. The ICO at this point is "pending" and "to-be-determined". We are seeking additional advisors with criminal justice backgrounds. Criminal justice is a broad category to include anyone with a background in law enforcement, prosecution, defense attorneys, judges, corrections, and politics.

How do you plan to gain the trust of the customers?

What will be the main focus for you with the funds you will raise with the ICO?

Not sure which customer you mean. I'll address the various actors:

1. Tokens holders trust will be gained by the use of a risk scoring tool prior to them contributing their token for bail. And a smart contract detailing the payments, fees, etc written to the blockchain.

2. Family or friends request bail trust will be built by having open agreement on the blockchain details the fees (if any) and other details.

3. Jails and detention centers trust will be built by integrating directly with their systems for payment, providing payment via kiosk in the lobby they allow to be installed or paying at the bail windows via fiat by a Mainprise ambassador.

Building the team, platform and marketing are all important. The most important is building a bail fund. This is the funding source of the bail payments. Token holders simply stake (or escrow) their tokens and the platform pays the jail or detention center fiat from the bail fund until wider acceptance is made and the jails accept BAIL Tokens. The courts refund the bail payment upon attendance of trail which goes back into the bail fund. And the tokens are release back to the token holders along with a percentage of the fee paid by the family/friend requesting a bail payment.

Do you have a bounty program?

So this coins is all about paying something that related with law?
Does this means it will be bad if it's used by the bad people/criminal to pay their bail?

We have plans for an 8-week bounty campaign. Plans are still being formulated along with the dates. We are allocating 5% of tokens (12 million) to be paid to bounty hunters for various activities. Stay tuned for the bounty announcements which will be posted above.

Token holders decide which bail they want to pay via their preferences. So it's not the "person" arrested paying their bail. It's their friends and family requesting a bail payment on their behalf. Then the payment request is matched with token holders who are willing to make micropayments to help someone get out of jail.

You have to remember the person arrested hasn't been charged, so they are considered innocent. Yet, they are held in jail awaiting trial and in the meantime, they lose their job, can't pay their bills, can't take care of their family, etc. This could be someone arrested for driving with a suspended license because they forgot to notify the driver's license office of their new address.

Many insurance companies. And other companies facilitating bail payments. Yes Token Holder will be able to automatically set preferences (risk score, type/level of charge, location, amount, and other factors) and the platform will match bail requests with token holder preferences before making the contribution. Or Token Holders can manually manage the contributions themselves from view open bail requests on the platform. The payments are returned once the person attends trial and meets other conditions for their release. The risk is low and spread across many token holders who make micropayment contributions towards the full bail amount.

To think simply, this project will give a lot of benefit for everyone who has many coins to get their bail payment paid, and free from going to jail?
Is that what the concept of this project?

The core of the idea is to have people helping to contribute to making bail payments for other people. To eliminate bail bondsmen and insurance companies and their high fees, closed agreements, answer to no one approach. Token holders replace them and earn a fee in the process. This isn't for token holders to pay their own bail like Uber drivers don't join Uber to drive themselves. Uber drivers join Uber to drive other people who need a ride. The same as BAIL Token holders have tokens to help other people who need bail and token holders get a fee for helping. Makes sense?

It looks like this project had done some marketing on ICO sites which gave high ratings, but not enough on this bitcointalk community as it doesn't have a bounty campaign. I'm interested in this project because of the team's solid tech/startup experience.

More details coming. Most of the funds raised (50%) are going into a Bail Fund which is used to actually bail people out of jail and refund the token holders.

There are lots of activity and initiatives to fix the broken commercial bail system. What's different here is we are starting with the "community" and getting "peers" to help "peers" without adding any additional costs to jails, detention centers, the government or taxpayers.

Yes, making it easy to request bail payments, and easy for token holders to contribute. Plus using blockchain technology for transparency, accountability, security and a crypto.

The difference here as opposed to other bail reform initiatives. We want to leave the decision on who gets bail and the amount in the hands of judges. So if a judge doesn't grant bail then there isn't anything we can do. Other initiatives are tackling those problems. Or if a bail amount is set too high, we aren't trying to get the amount lowered. Again, other initiatives are addressing those issues. We are simply trying to get the bail paid when and if it's set and regardless of the amount. It takes lots of resources and time to get laws changed. In the meantime, if we can just build a platform to get bail people, we can get people out of jail and home. While the bigger and broader issues are being worked out.

Once bail is paid, a person is released by the rules and regulations of the jail or detention center. There are various conditions and guidelines which differ depending on the jail or detention center. We will have guidelines defined as we develop the platform and integrate with jail systems.

One of the major reasons we chose blockchain and a peer-to-peer implementation is to disrupt the current middlemen such as bail bondsmen, insurance agencies, and fugitive recovery agents. We are trying to level the playing field so get the middlemen out of the way, reduce fees, and provide better services in an open, trusted, secured environment.

The concept of bail can be traced back to 399 BC, when Plato tried to create a bond for the release of Socrates. The modern bail system evolved from a series of laws originating in the middle ages in England. Right now the plan is to disrupt the key players in the current system using innovation such as blockchain, peer-to-peer and a cryptocurrency. We will make MAJOR impacts in the short term and get better as time progresses.

Yes, based on NEM. Which has security, accountability, transparency in its core. We switched from Ethereum recently. Because with NEM we aren't limited to solidity and can mix match and combine many different technologies via it's REST API. Plus combining Namespaces (unique domains), Mosaics (customizable assets), 2.0 multisig contracts, and three forms of messaging give an advantage. The architecture allows us to build the platform and applications for almost every operating system and device with the same degree of decentralization and security. Compared to Ethereum, NEM can scale to hundreds of transactions per second and has already been tested privately and independently to scale to thousands of transactions per second in the Catapult release. Lastly, we can easily integrate both public and private blockchains as we partner with jails and detention centers and help them move towards blockchain technology.

The project looks very promising, there are lots of positive comments about BAIL Tokens so far, I’m yet to go through the white paper for more insight.

We plan to implement a risk scoring system which tries to determine the likelihood of 3 things occurring if the bail is paid and the defendant released. We want to determine if the defendant is likely to fail to appear to court, if they are likely to commit another crime or if they are likely to commit a violent crime if released. The fees will be based on the risk. The plan is to keep the fees less than 3%. There are other fees such as fees to participate in the prediction market, fees to utilize the risk scoring tools for other uses, fees to access data, fees for using the bail token kiosk, etc.

i saw your video. I don't get it. to whom payment will be done for the bail ?? to govt ?

When a person is arrest and provided bail. The bail payment is needed as "insurance" so the person will show up for their trial. When the person shows up to court for their trial, the bail payment is returned regardless if the person is innocent or guilty.

So the payment is made to the "government/jail/court" and it's returned back to the platform at the end of the case. And the tokens are returned back to the token holders.

oh, this is really interesting. very nice and friendly type of project which i hope could succeed, but for now i'll just be cheering from the sidelines since i don't have much knowledge about it.

There are no guarantees. And there are no requirements to depositing anything each month. Reasons you should invest are:

• If you believe the project will be successful.
• If you want to make contributions to help make bail payments.
• If you want to earn a small fee for helping pay someone's bail.

You earn fees by making micropayment contributions to help people's bail. In return, you'll earn a percentage or the fee paid by the applicant based on your contribution.

You will definitely have to register KYC both to purchase tokens. And to request bail payments.

Once the tokens are freely available on exchanges, you don't have to register KYC to purchased them. Unless the exchange you are using requires it.

If you have the money then you can always pay directly in full or use a bail bondsman.

The benefit here is that paying the bail in full, which most people don't have that type of money laying around. Or paying 10% to a bail bondsman and being released into their custody. The concept is fairly unique in the blockchain space.

What’s the minimum of investment during token sale?

We did initial work and smart contract in Ethereum. And switched to NEM because it's less costly than Ethereum and it's faster. We like it being APIcentric. And it comes with pre-built easy to implement components. One of the things we liked is the ability to n-thousand transactions per user in our own blockchain (zero cost of consolidation) and connect it to the main network only to send and consolidate certain information.

Yes, we are allocating some time to researching the exchanges and investigating their listing policies. First, is getting the bounty program setup, kick-starting the social engagements, building out the team with additional members and advisors, determining the ICO dates and then exchange listings.
