Correct, out of the box it is plug and play. I have used it with the controller and also have plugged 10 into my GPU.

My GPU rig runs 4 x 280x hashing about 720kh/s and cgminer running along with 10 instances of minerd in seperate command line boxes it doesn't break a sweat. Will no slow down the GPUs, i've tested it. And I only have 4g ram on those rig.

ps you can tell the hashing speed from the logs, it says 0.00k. So you can only get an estimate from the pool.

I don't now about those claiming 500kh/s or more. In my experience you can't get it. I won't believe it until I see it. You might get 400-500 reported in the pool in a short period of time, but that is not indicative of longer periods of hashing as the pool is only reporting accepted hashes which varies greatly in the short-time. In overclocked mode I can get ~400mh/s =)

Yeh, similar. But they have developed custom software so you don't have access to the linux controller to make mods or get extra stats. Kind of forked and lock. They reckon they got 5mh out of their units but if you look at the support forums no one is getting those kinds of speed. More like 3.5-4.0mh

I believe I can get better support. I'm in the GS developer's support group in QQ in china. Any problems I can approach them right away, and also I can get updates fast.

Would it be possible for you to put together some sort of tutorial on how to set-up the units? Like wiring and stuff? It can't be much harder then wiring up a PSU to an Antminer, right?

From my perspective, it's quite a bit more involved.

I take your word Dyland, especially due to the fact I bought the ten pack deal. Tutorial with pic for set-up would be nice.

Ok I'm getting closer to getting my miners. I was so excited when I got the FedEx tracking. When I got the box I was like wait a minute miners can't fit inside that box. it was only my plug n play accessory kit; psu, USB cables, 220-110v adaptors and ethernet cables.

Emailed atari02 and he responded immediately that miners should eta on sat. Its all good my schedule is clear just waiting.

You can only estimate the hashrate with your pool. I have 6 running and I see it from 1600-2300kh....works for me. They are running on the cpu miner, it's scrypt only, the cpu miner can't read the gridseeds hashrate. I haven't really found how to run them in dual mode without having the controller. Also, it's important to note each chip is 7w, not each gridseed. So the gridseed runs at about 35w on scrypt, plus about 10w for the fan, a lot of people remove the fans when they build fancy setups, I am not going to do that.

I just opened up the pool I am mining on and it says about 1900kh with 6 gridseeds, as long as it doesn't say something like 500kh, I'm not too worried.

Will you be getting more in stock after the March 8th sale?  Would love to get an order in, although I don't think I'll have funds cleared by that time.   :)

I am glad to be of service. Anyone else feel free to ask me questions, I have done lots of testing on these units.

The earliest you can get it is dispatched by me from the 8th March. Now that stock is running low and in about another day I am going to close it and start on Batch #4 which will be March 15.

Everything is shipped out from China, and the invoices are done whereby customers don't need to pay tax and the units will pass customs easy. We are very familiar with all import laws and taxes for most countries to be able to deal with it.

I just wanted to post 1 more picture for you guys. I was in batch 1. Mine are all running hashcows (a switchpool that jumps to most profitable at the time), and I would have to take a video, but it seems these switch and pick up the new stratum slightly faster than the gpus which is kind of nice. I have already mined, TIPS, POT, DOGE, DGB, and a ton of other scrypt coins.


My setup is hot mess right now because I used to have 2 computers running 9 gpus on that contraption I built, but I sold one computer as the 6 gridseeds I have are faster than that computer with 7850s was. They sell 6ft, 12ft and 15ft usb to usb mini (don't buy micro) on tigerdirect for $2-$3 each. I just order 8 to be safe, 12ft cables, so I can move them away from the gpu rig and build them their own contraption. You can also buy long 12v 7a power cords (made for led lighting) on ebay for $10 each. I have a bunch of them on their way as well. If you don't get a controller, you have to run a separate instance of miner-d for each gridseed you have, not really too big of a deal.

This is true if you run the original version of Gridseeds CPUminer, which didn't disable the SHA256 cores in Scrypt-only mode.
Crypto Mining Blog (http://cryptomining-blog.com/1165-download-cpuminer-for-gridseed-5-chip-gc3355-asics-with-reduced-power-usage/) have a modified CPUminer available which disables the SHA256 cores, thus ensuring that each unit (including fan) consumes ~10W.

We have the gridseed units in stock today, I am beginning dispatch tomorrow 6th March. I apologise for the delay as the Gridseed factory is very behind schedule. Another issue I am having is that 5-packs are beginning to be dispatch tomorrow but we have to wait until Friday 7th March for dispatch of 10-packs and more. Gridseed have  shortage of controllers and those are being shipped to me tomorrow and I will receive them Friday. I apologise to all for the delay encountered. The next batch March 8 will beginning shipping on Monday March 10th now. I will update the post to reflect this.

I will post photos of stock tomorrow and on Monday of the huge batch of units that we will have on hand.

I'm stressing out a little bit.

This is all probably because I'm a little naive.

I didn't realize that paypal paid funds to you instantly and in the meantime I decided to cancel my order.

While that was happening, paypal attempted to draw funds from my account, but they couldn't because I thought there was enough in there. There wasn't.

When I saw the credit back to my account because paypal couldn't draw, I thought OK, great, atari doesn't even need to refund, so I Pm'd you and told you needn't worry about refunding.

But Paypal says you are paid, so I wake up with a negative balance of $3116.00 on my paypal.

I know you're honest, so I am guessing you are busy and did not realize that the refund still needed to be done despite what I pm'd you, since you have been paid for my canceled order now.
