Title: how to choose a new coin
Post by: Profesor_kodok on August 03, 2018, 06:33:19 PM
as we know that there are too many coins in circulation.
What do you think of choosing a good coin to be used as an investment?

Did it have an ICO?
Is there a founder’s reward?
Is there no hard cap on coin creation?
Was there a premine?
Did you learn about it through a paid advertisement?
Does it fail to create a new usage case for crypto?

If the answer to any of those questions is “yes” then you should probably choose a different coin.

My advice, do not choose a new coin if you want to use it for long-term investment. Choose altcoins like Ethereum, BCH, and others that have long survived in the crypto world. But if you are a scalper, then of course new coins are more profitable in terms of instant profit. But choose the really good one. Read the possibilities and markets in the existing real economy, so that you will more or less understand the market flow of the project, so you will know whether the project will be an interested project or not.

I stalk the Telegram channel for a week or two just to see how its flowing and see how many fan boys are in there.  You need a good community when things get tough.  Once the Telegram is good and the project is good I usually jump in.  Its mostly a crap shoot.

You need to follow some professional investors on twitter, they do post yheir recommendations, then you can do your own due diligence and read the chart too before investing.

Check twitter, follow good investors. They will tweet something, a good ICO. Other options, check an ICO that has a great project and a good rating. Check their roadmap and whitepaper. If you want to buy a coin in the market, always look at the circulating supply and the volume and check if the trade is active. A good circulation is a good coin. But remember, always be sure when picking an ICO. There will be risks and your money is on the line here.

It has become very difficult to do now. Now there are a lot of scam projects and it's very difficult to compete with them. It seems to me that there is no point in investing in new projects, as long as there is no system that will recognize good projects like Menlo.one.

There are many ways how one can do it but you have to be extremely careful as there are a lot of either scam projects or even projects that were not thought well, either ways poses a dangerous investment.

If you are thinking about invesment, I think that tokens may provide a better opportunity for you than the coins. Coins are chains and there are too many, tokens are projects.

There are quite some things you might want to look out for before deciding whether or not to invest in a coin, depending on what interest you. For me, aside doing my own analysis, I like to see what the majority are saying about the coin. Is it positive? has the coin been listed in any of the exchanges? how good is the whitepaper/ who are the team members behind it? and a host of other quetions.

What coin are people talking about the most around you? what are they saying about them? Does it have a good team behind it, and is the project worth investing in? This are some of the questions that you might want to ask yourself before investing in a coin. If the answers are positive, you can then trust your intuitions, otherwise, stay clear.

Yes, checking on websites like coincap.io or marketcap is a good way to decide which coin to go for but must be careful of the coins which are being pumped and prepared to be dumped.

You don't have to choose a new coin, there's an existing coin which is the best coin after all.

Don't focus far away from that coin because you can probably absorb those coins that are suggested which has totally no future on it.

I'm talking about bitcoin.

New coins are usually promising, there are a few simple steps to choosing a new coin. see the white paper and roadmap then study carefully.
new coins will rise quickly and then fall very deep, when it is an opportunity to buy and hold.
Large exchanges will also affect a new coin.

To choose good coins for investment purposes, you first need to determine your investment needs at the moment is to invest in the short or long term? The long-term investment should be invested in BTC and ETH, while short-term investments should focus on altcoins. And the investment in new ICO coins, my advice is that this time should not invest because of high risk.

So far bitcoin, ETH, and XLM are worth to invest but the rest should not be included on the list of coin that worth to invest because they have no usefulness NEO lack of demand and it has been getting kicked from top 10 CMC, EOS has a very bad network and ADA has no demand similar as NEO.

There are different ways or means through which you can join new coins
First make research about the team involved in the project, read the white paper
Know the softcap and hardcap.
Most especially join the telegram group to know more about it.

I analyze projects quite scrupulously and try to find the smallest details to which it is possible to cling and write in support, on the rack to explain them. The first thing I pay attention to is the composition of the project team, the number of positions and their quality. Then I read the white paper and trying to understand whether this project is needed for the blockchain. After all this, I pay attention to the road map and get acquainted with the items that are listed there.

I choose projects that have good ratings in icobench & icorating.com... then again, I recently heard that these websites can be bribed in exchange for good ratings. Is this true?

Anyway, once Menlo One will launch, it will be much easier and I think we won't need to do as much research since it's going to be "an all in one" decentralized platform... this means there will be no more bribery..

Choosing coins for investment is not easy, you need to learn about project itselves, who is the team in this project ? what are they planned for their project ?
But i not recommended to invest in ico, for me it's like bet your money, maybe invest in top 10 cryprocurrency is good choice, although there will also be risks

If you are talking about to choose coins from ICO project, it means you should make your own research first before deciding to buy the coins. Analyze the company legality, the team member's track record, how potential their products, and some others crucial things. At least, do not choose the coins suspected a scam. It's too risky.

The risks is always here, there is no way to lose it because risk is everywhere. More risk if you are investing in ICO's even the in a coin that you doesn't have a research about the coin. It's true there's a low risk if you invest in top coin that had a great potential.

Choosing bitcoin or ETH won't make you disappointed. Just hold when prices drop dramatically. And now, BTC and ETH are experiencing a downturn, even more economic experts say the two crypto are at the lowest price, you can start now.

If you see a new coin, do not just go and invest in it. watch their campaigns, listen to people who are in touch of it or who invested it. Check the bounty offers. Gradually try to gain more knowledge of it. If you found that coin is right then go for it.

personally I prefer coins that have platforms or products that are active and have been used by everyone. so if their platform or product is needed by people, then their coins are automatically needed and always purchased.

Well, if you do not have enough experience and knowledge, it is better to choose more reliable coins for investment. Buying new coins can be dangerous because if you make a mistake in the choice, you will lose your money. And if you choose proven coins like Ethereum, for example, you can not be afraid of anything and just wait for the price to rise.

First of all, the coin must be provided with a real product or service. Then the importance of the team and the degree of their responsibility in the development of the project. What work has been done. What are the plans for the project. All this is very important when buying a coin.

Check if there is on going development and that the roadmap is being fulfilled. If not then pick another coin as there are likely to be issues with the back-end staff. If the community is large then it is a good investment, demand will always be there to support the coin

Before I make a new choice, I first derive certain alternatives to myself. I examine and compare these alternatives one by one and calmly in detail. When doing all these operations, I try to do research to the best detail and look at past price graphs. As a result of my research on alternative options that I have identified in the first phase, I am starting to make preferences afterwards. I never choose a single option and I constantly create different portfolios. It seems to be a bit long, but it does contribute to the accumulation of intensive knowledge over time. You are also indirectly following the information about the market and acquiring this information.

Find the coins that are listed in the coinmarket has a low capitalization. And there are huge trading volumes from 1-2 million $ per day. These coins can be good for buying and waiting for prices to rise. But it's only true for the uptrend market. When the market downtrend like today. Almost 100% of the new coins and altcoin will fall heavily

But there are so many altcoins indeed, making we hard to choose coin to buy.

You need to do a lot of research for one thing.  I usually read the whitepaper and see if it even sounds legit.  If i get passed that point I investigate the team.  I also use ICO rankers like ICO bench.  The selection process is a blend of research, common sense and luck.  Sometimes I win and sometimes I loose.

There are too many coins to choose from. Now it depends on you and how much you are willing to risk. There are tons of worthless "new" coins out there. Due to sudden hype, the price skyrockets for a week and then the value goes down the drain. If you are willing to risk it and make some quick profit, then try investing on those for short term. But you should know that it is actually very risky and you will end up with nothing. For long term holding, try coins that are well known and trending on the market. Look at the market cap, supply and daily trade volume. It will help you get an idea of the future price.

There are many consideration should be made in choosing the new coin which coins will give much advantages for us. We know that now there are many ICO's are fall or do not reach the hard cap.  I ever read that a good coin is when the ICOs reachs the soft cap and hard cap and it is developed by many good people in that ICOs. And it is has realistic goal and good strategy to reach the goal. I do not know more about this, that is what I know from my friends.

Altcoin is profitable for investments, it is not difficult to find if you follow the news on the crypto market on a daily basis. The next step - you need to be on a daily basis on a crypto exchange and follow yourself on the altcoyins. The solution will come and it will be correct.

in fact, almost all of their free time should be given to the analysis and study of information about the crypto currency. I mean not only the state of the market, but also the market of ico companies also need to be kept under control. In any case, if you want to have good results of your activity, this free time you will not have.

to choose a good coin to invest you have to do research by reading positive news often and also asking for opinions from senior members or people who really understand crypto. even though you don't have to be direct to believe it, in my opinion and suggestion.

Yes there are so many new coins circulation but the thing is many of them will disappear in no time because solutions are not for long term period. I believe WPP Energy has the highest chance to survive because of its solutions are in demand globally , it tends to solve energy crisis by using Clean Energy that will help to reduce the cost , reliable and more efficient compare to traditional energy provider that highly affects are ecosystem !

What do you think of choosing a good coin to be used as an investment?

I usually start reading the Binance chats and ICO groups on Telegram.  See what has a large following and a lot of hype. Once I get the coin I read up and research and make sure it's not a pump and dump shit coin and has real utility.  It's kinda like picking  a girl.  You find the one with the nice packaging.  Then you study it more a see if there is more than meets the eye.

It depends on how you trade. if you want short term investment the best choice is for the new coins because new coins gets in the market much bigger in start but be careful do some research and take those coins that do you think have a potential. the second is the long term method i prefer to stick to those coins that prove that they can stand a long in the market their price and their names like Ethereum with the long term investment you can guaranteed in some time it will rise and give you a profit

You can first gather information to know what project you will invest in, the most basic way is to look at their ICO (If any) if it is successful it is ideal to invest in that token and when project has bounty campaign its very advantageous to buy from basic market because lots of bounty participants will dump their token after they receive their payments.

To chose good coin, we must have in mind as an investor, not a gambler. Look the project, don't you think they will useful for people life? Look the developer, are they really working? And the last think, are they having a good customer service? If your answer yes for those questions, I think they should be a good coin.

I always choose coins based on how potential I see the coin and how beneficial I think the coin can give me. I look at the graphical representation of the coin and how it has been trending for the subsequent years with its existence. It is an ideal that you may lose when you invest in some coins.

First of all you have to research. You can google the project to find whether the project is good investment or not. Many people review projects on the market. Another important factor is its team, and technology. If the team is reliable, reputed and strong, the project has possibilities to grow over the time. So go through these process before going for a project.

Before you invest, you need to conduct a thorough analysis. It is necessary to study how promising the idea of the project is, at what stage of implementation is the project, which team is engaged in its development. No less important is the information about the previous movement of the project coin price. In any case, I would not recommend to invest in coins that are not in the top 50 on Coinmarketcap.

It is very important to select right coin for invest. Low market cap have incredible growth potential but most of the time you find that they are gambling. In coin market cap you can find a top list of best coins which gains 100%+ per day. But be careful for choose. Better if you select top 20 to 25 for investment. If you want more volatile coins than never invest for long term. Never panicked or rumor about a coins growth. Better if you buy when a coin go drop in their 52 week cycle at least. And always try for pick a coin with actual potential.

My advice is not to choose a new coin if you want to use it for long-term investment because buying new coins has a high risk of losing. Choose altcoins like Ethereum, EOS, and others who have long survived in the crypto world. But if you still want to buy new coins, the reason for new coins is more profitable in terms of instant profits. it's better if you invest in a legitimate ICO project, but you have to do an analysis of the ICO project because there are now many ICO projects scam.

If you want to invest in a new coin like the AutoCoin of AutoBlock, you first need to make sure that it is reliable and not a scam. For instance, the AutoCoin is not just disrupting the automotive market, but is also one of the most talked about fresh coins. ICO and cryptocurrency experts are speaking about it on their Twitter feeds and this is how you can tell that you’re making the right decision to invest in a new coin. There are other checks you could make like ensuring that it has an ICO, has been premined and whether or not the company has a whitepaper.

Your motive of selection really matters when you are to select a coin. This motive will determine which coin is best for you. If you want to just buy and sell within short period of time, you can choose altcoins which can give you profits within short period of time. All you just need to do is to buy the ones that have low price and wait till it gets high price for you to sell. But if your motive is to hold the coin for a long time, you have to choose a coin with good usecase.

Just research about the project idea on how it helps make our like easy, its advantages and disadvantages. The best reference is their WP and ask clarification on telegram. Also don't skip on checking team members, this is very important. They might be scammers so better check it.
It`s the correct way, but also you need to check how innovative idea of the project and if there are other projects - check which one is better.

Of a truth, there are lots of promising coins out there, but how many are really worth investing on in the long run?  To get yourself acquainted with any coin you're buying, do a little research here and there. You could check out its ratings across the rating sites and see the team it has to help it deliver to the world. While that works for ICOs, you can see the number of coins in circulation and the general view on it if it has already been launched.

The step that I will do is to see the project has an ICO or not, see the Roadmap of the ICO project, then I will see from the project team and the advisory team project, whether the team is experienced in cryptocurrency or not. In essence, if you want to choose a new coin you must understand and learn about the project by looking at it on their white paper and checking it on the social media project.

If you want to know more about the coins you want to invest, have a research for it. Why don't you check this swachhcoin.com? This coin is still on their ICO stage but they have a very good review because of the uniqueness of their platform. Their platform is about waste management concerning on our world to be a better place to live in the future. At Swachhcoin they believe that a number of social problems that the world faces, if not all, can be solved by efficiently developing and deploying advanced technologies in the concerned field. All coins are really promising but unfortunately, the negative situation in the market this year, highly and negatively affects the profitability of cryptos. But as a tip, choose popular coins or those which have reached the hardcap during the crowdsale because these coins are mostly the ones that are having price increase for a long run due to the demand that its popularity gives.

For short term investment it is better to choose good new coin because new coin can be take much bigger value in start. You can earn instant profit in that time but you should know that it is actually very risky,  many of them will disappear in no time. But if your're a new comer it is better use existing good coin like Ethereum, Neo this investment definitely will rise and give you a profit and also this coins are also good for long term holding. When you are choosing new coin always look at the circulating supply and the volume and check if the trade is active.Read the possibilities and markets in the existing real economy it will help to get an idea of the future price. When you are looking for good ICO then check out rating, Check their road map, whitepaper and comments of experts. And You need to follow some professional and experienced investors on twitter, they do post their recommendations.

- Second: new coins which often have volumn transaction and market cap are small but when it go up, your money can be multiple 5 -10 times, even up to 50 or 100 times, but however, you can lose everything when it is not pumped price anymore

There are many factors to consider when choosing an investment project. Personal research is very important, but in a crypto world where SCAMs are dominant, even research is not enough to choose a good project. If you want short-term profit, but where the risk is higher, choose an ICO project. If you invest in a project and want safety, choose a TOP project on the coinmarketcap, but the profits will come for a long time. Read the whitepaper of the project, read the team's experience, discuss with them different key ideas on the telegram. Explore how your project is being promoted. Good luck!

Price is not everything when it comes to choosing a coin, and sure even though investing in an overbought market is not a good idea, as you will want to be taking advantage of the dip, at the same time, you should really be considering the fact where you need to check out a lot about the project idea and product that is backing up the coin that you want to invest in for long as that is what really counts to me as far as I am concerned. There are plenty of shit coins in the market with very few of them having products, so in that case, you really want to do your due diligence.

Firstly you need to find a promising project if you want to hold that coin long term. Because that means you are trying earn money in the future not short time period.

Not just whitepaper, you really need to look at the team, look at the availability of a product and how the product can relate to usage in real life, and from there you can now check out the business solution which is one thing I am sure you really want to take advantage of first in understanding before going through any boring technical details.

The best criteria for a project in which to invest money are the following:

-  not too large capitalization, otherwise you will wait for a very long time to increase the price;
-  the real team and availability of MVP or finished product;
-  localization of the project - Asia or Western Europe;
-  steady growth in the price of the token.

All these criteria has a project in which I invested myself - the project ETHEERA. And I am very glad that I joined the team of its investors.

Choosing a new coin is always a difficult task. Especially for beginners - the probability of making the wrong choice is always too high. But if you manage to choose the right direction, then you are guaranteed a profit. I invested a few weeks ago in the Etheera project (ETA token) and I think it was the best day for me when I found this project. For everyone who wants to be confident in the future prospects and wants to earn really big profits next year, choose the Etheera project. This is the best alternative for the average investor today.

I would choose the other coins that have a good history, and the coin can survive in the market. Besides that, I think it's too difficult to know which new coin that can be a good coin for the investment because the coins don't have any history and it still need time to see it is good or not.

What do you think of choosing a good coin to be used as an investment?

Yes, it's simple. Look for a decent coin that is well sunk. Which has a good news background. This is exactly the coin that will give a good profit. It is best to look with a small capitalization. Here is an example of IOTEX, a very low price and capitalization. In addition, MainNet Preview was released today.

Choosing a coin is one of the most dangerous things in our part of the world(crypto verse) Most projects appear to be very promising and that people get into it and eventually, their monies are lost. I would suggest a project with at least one know team may be better to invest in.

Actually for now they have some new coins but not have value, If have some new ICO's coming it have also new coins. We can choose new coins and have some potential if the project was in good situation or reach of their hardcap of the ICO or only softcap. But must better to choose to those in top coins in crypto than the new coins we do not know if this gonna rise the price or not.

Do you want to invest on ICO? then you need to choose a project in which a good idea, and a working product is. If the coin is already out, you should choose a coin that has a working product (this will give you confidence that the coin will not burn). Well, if the coin has the prospect of development in the market.

You can choose coins that are often discussed by many people but in good conversation quotes.
You can also see how the team works and the dev mission on the project. that way you can see what coins are potential or not.
and good new coins usually have characteristics that will enter the big market.

The new altcoin now really can't live too long with this market, just like I invest in Ubex ICO. Its price is now down 30 times compared to ICO prices, which is a very good project but it still can't grow in this market. You should find the top altcoin and invest, you will be less at risk than choosing the new altcoin

In any case, when working with a new coin, it is imperative that you carefully study a specific project, make sure that the technology is promising and that there is a strong development team.

First of all, you should read the whitepaper of a project, where you want to put your money in. Secondly, you need to investigate the website, the team members and the developers. If they seem legit, the last step would be to investigate the social media communities.

It is true what you say that we cannot deny that there are many coins circulating in the market. The amount of new coins makes us confused to choose which one is good and potential to be used as an investment. We have to be careful in choosing good coins because we are not supposed to choose coins based on euphoria just to follow other people. I will share experiences about what I did to choose potential new coins for my investment. First, I will look at the technology that the coin brings. What are the advantages brought by the coin, whether the technology brought is innovative and distinctive or not. If the technology carried by the coin is a duplication of the previous technology, I will consider again in choosing the coin. Second, I will make an analysis of the coin. The analysis contains the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges faced by the coin. From that analysis, I hope that I can get a clear picture of the coin real and true.

Actually there are many ways to choose a good coin :

You can keep eyes on market to choose an initial coin.
You have to search that coins roadmap which manage by team.
You can see the total flow of that coin on market.
You have to look ICO price of that coin and present market price.
You can look how many tokens in market and how many exchanges enlisted that market. If it has low coins and too many exchanges enlisted, its price would be good in future.

etc...

In principle, new coins can be a profitable and successful solution. But only under the condition of a very careful selection of the project - in fact today the number of fraudsters among the new coins is really very large. Experts in the crypto market claim that it is now better to invest in reliable cryptocurrencies, from next year they can recover their active growth.

It all depends on what you want the coin t do for you. If you want it as a day to day coin(that's for purchasing), then look for a stable coin which will prevent losses because it may reduce or go high. It is better to look for the performance of the coin in the last couple of months to prevent you from buying a mere pump and dump coin.

There are many approaches to this. Here is my strategy
1. What kind of project is built in the space, its usecase, why is it needed?
2. Delivering roadmap is very important. Its unserious projects that always postpone events.
2. Viral marketing for adoption. I dont like teams that are so focused on tech, they dont care about investors.
3. What makes them better than their competitors
4. Tokenmetrics.
5. Trading on a reputable exchange.
6. Strong team/advisors

First of all you need some knowledge about cryptocurrency and how it work and how its values will increase or decrease to make you strong even if you may loss. Then you should research yourself, have peer-to-peer consultation, consult with experts and join Bitcoin Forum where you can have much knowledge about cryptocurrency.

If you are investing on ICO you should always consider how the development of the coin will pursue(roadmap) given the capital they raised in the ICO. Next, consider how you will benefit as an early investor in contrast to those who will buy to the exchanges. Lastly, always research about the background of the team and try to avoid scam coins.

Choosing the new coin to invest must do a good reputation in the market that they are in the popular and expensive exchange site because it has solid foundation for grouping and advertising, setting up a next strategy. It's good to work with people and business-minded companies. Look at the project, do you think they will be useful to people? Looking at the developer, do they really work? And finally think, they have a good customer service? If your answers are for those questions, I think they should be a good coin.

To choose a good coin, analyse the coin's performance based on its value, volume, ranking and whitepaper. XRP and PRG are great examples. Have a look at their record and how widely acceptable they are, it shows their value in between other hundreds of coins.

For choosing a good coin to investment i think the most important that you have to focus on their team. Is there have a hardworking team behind the project? And always connected to them on social media. You have to check their official website and read the whitepaper and their roadmap. Also if they had partnership with famous crypto company then you can choose the coin. At last i want to suggest you that keep your own research.

too many altcoins on the market. new projects are coming out like donuts in a bakery. best to do your homework before putting ur money in.

Hype:
twitter users
reddit posts
telegram members
discord members
responsiveness/truthfulness of moderators in these channels

Fundamentals:
Availability of MVP
Team strength (number of experts in the field; linkedin profiles)
Whitepaper originality/technicality/clarity
Independent reviews
Partnerships with corporates/academia
Use-case strength
Clarity of roadmap

Others:
Existing Competition (other coins in the same space? how established are they)
Regulation Risk (does it have security characteristics?)
Hardcap (is it asking for too much money for its use case?)
Share of tokens distributed (are the founders/team keeping too much for themselves, escrow?)

For choosing a new coin firstly you have to look their community. I think community and project is the most important thing about coins. Surely you can not find any community maybe for bitcoin or ethereum but you can find a community in telegram for too many altcoins. You have to analyze that project. What is their future plans and why that coin will be very valuable in the future etc.
Also you need to look the exchanges. If that coin already listed binance at least you can be sure that is good coin.

Now even very promising projects can not collect the minimum amount of investment. Therefore, before investing your money in a new coin, look at how much money has already been invested in the project.

In my opinion, if you want a long term investment you should consider the roadmap of the coin you are trying to invest on or how the coin is effective in terms of mass adoption because if the coin cannot scale with the pace it will be left behind.

Choosing new coins is really hard cause there is a lots of coin in the market. I follow a rule to find out the new coins, just go to the new listing in coinmarketcap and check it everyday basic. Or you could find in your way. After than you have to analysis and study their whotepaper, and website. Then you have to check members and advisory board. Then go forarketcap and exchange listing this is very important. Then see artificial volume or just organic volume in exchange. And check they follow the roadmap or not. Also if you want to buy a big share go talk to the CEO or someone and saw their vision. And if they delay on their broadmap or project then don't go for them. That's it.

You cannot invest into all coins, so you have to choose wisely. Most times, one of tge attractive points to a good ICO, is the website. A poorly developed website, would wade off potential investors. So it must portray  and picture that the project is truly blockchain related. Then learn to read whitepaper, which must be unique and have its own original idea, instead of a copy and paste.

well, but sometimes the projects that arrive at the hardcap aren't necessarily promising. but that should be appreciated, and an experienced team will also be a potential for the new coin. because, a professional team already knows how to develop the coin.

Good coin is defined by the market and is stability not to dump too much or halfbits price from time to time. I'd suggest both EOS and ETH, as their community and price go larger while companies prefer accepting those than other coins.
Ill think that two coins you mention was a potential coins, Actually ill buy some of it because this was a potential coins and must good to hold. We all know that have some also potential coins and one of them are this ETH and EOS.

Choosing a new coins is not an easy task. Because sometimes it's look good from perspective through marketing strategy but at the end, it's a scam and no real product. Based on my experience, the good choice start from a good partners of that specific coins. For this, you will see if that coins has a potential to develop first and make a real deal when the target date comes. More or less, it will be more convenient and small percentage risk loss. You need to check the project first, read through all the information that are there and check the names behind the project. Presentation and transparency are extremely important. Also, check the effort that developing team is invested into it, it is an extremely good sign when you see that the devs are still committed and constantly improving and upgrading it. Also, some base factors like CMC, community, availability on the market, daily activity of the members. There are all major factors. The project that I am looking at for couple of weeks now has been BTCN. It reached CMC in no time, community is incredibly active and it is already present in a couple of credible exchanges.

Choosing a new coin for investment should be well analyzed for yourself. Work well with people you trust. You need to look at the product of the project, whether it will be useful to people. It is necessary to evaluate the developer, they really work well. And how they have good customer service. If your answers are positive to these questions, then the coin should be good.

mining is optional if it is a POW. Now there are a lot of good coins that go away from mining by such an algorithm. I try to look for more flexible coins that choose mixed algorithms.

I am always reading through the Whitepaper first. Check if the idea is good, if the people behind it are named and can be checked. Transparency is crucial. Also, the actions taken by the community. Support is extremely important for any coin, especially if you are entering some new project and selecting some unknown coin. I have been following an unknown coin for some time now, it is called BTCN. It seems good for now, it reached cmc, has an extremely active community and it is already available in several exchanges. I hope that my gut is not fooling me, but I am predicting some nice profit and good story with this one.

Very cool for me is AdEx. They done a lot of work and didn't left their community and supporters. So more than sure in a few years price will be very high. You must have knowledge of technology if you want to get a profit, but it is not easy especially the current situation which tends to bleed. I think you can choose the top altcoin as a fast trade or a long investment. and currently the price is very cheap compared to last year. but the risk is quite large because the market turmoil is not stable.

The exchange itself looks good, but you need to understand better before recommending it.

It seems to me that in order to make a profit you need to choose top or prospective coins.
This will insure you against the risk of total failure and loss of money.
With a selection of coins, topics on this forum will help you.
After analyzing the courses, as well as the views of market players, you will be able to determine for yourself the priority coins.

It depends on the risk level that you are willing to take. Relatively low risk - buy Bitcoin (maybe already now). Seems BTC is near the bottom. Though level of 2200-2500$ nobody cancel.
For moderate risk it could be LTC or ETH for example. And for high risk it could be one of hundreds low cap alts

Choosing a new coin is not too easy in this down market. If the coin is popular one then it's fine. Then go to coinmarketcap, check the marketcap of the coin , where it listed, then go for the white paper. And check for the devlopment or if it's popular you just can hold it. Like if you want to buy cardano then is it really need a research? If you are a whale then research if not then just buy it. But when you invest in a low cap coin you have to research a lot. Like you have to talk to the admin team maybe if you talk with a technical person of that ico. And you have to read the whitepaper. And talk to the community. And then chose the coin.

If it is can be very easy for people to identify good projects easily, it would have been good. There are times that a scam project might even disguise to be genuine and to even be the best.
If you can do intense research then you might feel safe when investing in a coin. It has to be intensive, because some of these projects can be deceptive and might not be able to differentiate.

When it comes to investing longterm I would not look to invest in an ICO. The reason being is you do not know enough about the team. Are they going to take tour money and run? Or are they really updating and doing what they said. Is the team trustworthy?

Ask yourself these questions before investing and if you are not sure about any... DO NOT INVEST!!!

But in these top 10 coins, I also do some technical analysis of a long term basis if I will going to hold it for a long time.

1. The coin has been entered in coinmarketcap
2. The coin has a high volume
3. The project runs in accordance with the roadmap
4. The function of the coin is very good and useful in the future
5. The team always updates the latest information about the project.

Nothing bad with characteristics being the same if there's some trait that can be used to call the coin a 2.0 version of the other one.
Anonymity coins have gone through a few iterations, now we have much better ones than Dash(darkcoin), for example.

It all depends on what your goal is. if you want to increase the capital several times, then take the tops that are on the dollar and bitcoin. Which have shown their reliability and exactly rise up. If you want a lot of X, take on new projects that are not yet traded on major exchanges. But for this you need to greatly diversify the portfolio and understand the project well.

You need to follow some professional investors on twitter, they do post yheir recommendations, then you can do your own due diligence and read the chart too before investing.

I think that various ICO and other projects buy their opinions, because there is no sense for popularities share their ideas without any profit.

But if we talk about real analize of the project, i think is very important not only read WhitePaper, but also check GIThub and see what company've already achieved and what they are going to create.  Only after this you can invest money(that you are ready to lose)

This is very helpful comment and it should be more known for newcomers.
But as always, there are many coins, that meet all criteria, no premine, no ICO, good community, like Vertcoin, but who wants to use it? And why we should use it? Because it is a honest coin? ;)

There are thousands of coins in the crypto market. The percentage of those we know is not upto those we do not know. For instance, if the check the coinmarketcap, we have less than 2073 coins listed, while in the general market, there are numerous and even countless number of them that are not lisyed on CMC.
If a coin does not have a true product that is in use, do not bother buying it.

My advice how to choose a new coin would be to have a look to their marketing and social media. Check the telegram channel and community first.

Picking another coin isn't excessively simple in this down market. On the off chance that the coin is mainstream one, it's fine. At that point go to coinmarketcap, check the marketcap of the coin , where it recorded, at that point go for the white paper. What's more, check for the devlopment or if it's prominent you simply can hold it. Like on the off chance that you need to purchase cardano, is it truly require an examination? On the off chance that you are a whale, inquire about on the off chance that not, simply get it.

If someone has not yet decided on a coin that could be chosen as an object for investment, then try to invest in the ETA token (Etheera project), I am sure that in a few months you will be glad that you invested in ETA and not in Bitcoin or ethereum, or some other top-coin. I assure you - this is true, you will be glad that you listened to my advice.

I agree. You also need to understand how the token will be used in the ecosystem. Will it be in great demand and how will it affect the price. You also need to consider how much the token on the ICO and how many tokens will be released. In my long-term investment portfolio there are, for example, Adex, Waves, Cardano, etc.

I think the easiest thing we can do for Crypto Investors is by analyzing the movements and communities of these coins, and Coinmarketcap is the best source we can choose besides this forum.

I recently found a new, little-known exchange, but it trades a lot of quite rare coins. Here's a referral link for registration https://bitebtc.com/?affid=48395

What is the point of taking risks and registering on new exchanges when there are already time-tested exchanges?

This exchange is not the 1st day running. On young exchanges, a lot of rare and new coins that are not yet traded on big exchanges and therefore the price is low. As soon as these coins will listed on the big exchanges their price will increase. Therefore, it makes sense to use new exchanges, which allows you to buy these tokens at a favorable price.

You can research yourself, consult with friends, join bitcoin forum before jumping into the crypto train. You can also consult with google in finding good coins. But ultimately, you should take your own decision to invest. In case of me, I have invested in many coins like ripple, stellar, iota, nem, tron, verge, cindicator. I did invest in some with the help of my friends. I consulted with google in some other cases.

No matter how you choose, it's still a lottery. A lot of factors can bury even a very good project. It seems to me wiser to invest in proven projects that have shown their performance. They are all at a minimum now and will grow in any case.

as we know that there are too many coins in circulation.
What do you think of choosing a good coin to be used as an investment?
I think investing in a promising old currency is less risky than investing in a new currency in the ICO.

If you are interested in long-term investments, then I think you do not need to choose new coins, it is better to choose those that have been on the market for a long time!

Well, first you need to analyze the project, see what is behind it, what kind of team, what similar projects they have implemented, perhaps not in the field of blockchain, but to similar, and plus how much money they want to attract, their fame and much more, only thanks to these factors, it will become clear that the project or not

In reality choosing new coin to invest ypur money is hard part. Most of the ICO or new coin release here in the market are no potential means it will not up the value of that coin even you wait long time and mostly scam.

Here's my criteria when Im choosing a new coin to determine of the potentiality of the coin.
Unique-if the coin are different to other coin
benefits-after you invested your money what benefits did you get.
The team- if the team is not anonymous and good experiencing on their profession.
Purposes- Why they create the coin.

That is my criteria.

For me, a new coin should have several basic criteria. The first is the possibility of implementing the project, the second is the availability of foreign investment, the third is a strong team.

It is very important that the project has a finished product that has users. otherwise, you should not invest. risks will be too high

Hope my answer will help you follow this step by step guide by BlockstreetHQ
1) Explore :- Before finding best projects for investment its better to clear your basics like how blockchain works & how money flows in the cryptomarket. Different types of cryptocurrency classification like coins, utility token, security tokens etc. How to go with the market trends and hypes, this will boost your confidence.
2) Target Market :- There are so many projects listed on CMC targeting different different markets or sectors such as contracts, remittance, data security, medical, exchange, entertainment, supply-chain, privacy, asset backed stable coins etc. Do some research to choose a project which appeals to you or in the field you are familiar with.
3) Team :- When you choose a project for investment take a good and hard look at the team of the projects as they are the one who are going to make or break the projects success. check few points like
> Is the leadership track record is impressive?
> Is the team members have experience in the industry  which they are targeting to disrupt?
> Have they worked on blockchain projects before?
The more the stronger team better the chances of survival of the projects & good chances of making profit in longer run.
4) Traction :- Now look at how much progresses the team have made specially on technology and adoption. While it is nice to find projects with good developers who are constantly updating their tech but it will fail if it is not being used. Research its adoption rate, the size of the community. Follow their social media accounts such as twitter or reddit and join their telegram community to find details about community support for the project.
5) Competition :- Try to look for competitors of the project you have chooses as it is important to look for competition as there are several coins which have similar mission and vision in some cases the all competitor projects will succeed but in some cases only one will succeed. Try to find weakens and strengths of project of the projects which you have chosen with their competitors if there are any than make decision.

take a look at this video in tweets this will help you how to research https://twitter.com/CoinMarketCap/status/1060547903364718592

If you are an short term trader then go with the market trends only like hardfork, testnet, mainnet, partnership announcement, node integration etc. Look at this post this will help you to find the ways how to go with the market trends https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4436763.msg39624827#msg39624827

Choosing new coins is very difficult, and this is usually not suitable for novices, unless you have the ability to actually look at the developer team and have the opportunity to contact the developer team, otherwise any kind of message or media announcement may be a scam.

With confirmed answers to these, you are already set to getting a good coin for investment. There are many and people might come up with suggestions too but good research will be of help.

What kind of research here, if you answer "yes" on this 6 questions most likely that you are looking at scam. It`s time for choosing some other coin, with that one you can
lose your money and nerves.

Cannot agree with you Levious, choosing new coin is necessary for all of us. If you are facing with possible scam you don`t have many options, the best one
is to abandon what you are doing and find a new project where will you invest. In some cases contacting developers team is like you ask a scammer what he
thinks, most likely he will say to you everything good about the project and he will try to convince you how they are better than others.

other than that we can also pay attention to whether the coin runs in accordance with the rodmap or not because if it matches rodmap then it proves that if their team is reliable and the target they are targeting will all be achieved.

For me, my perspective has changed. I would advise for anyone to avoid all the existing altcoins right now and just focus on the top 20 coins in the coinmarketcap. I think the time has come where all the shitcoins that are going to be dead because getting new investors in one of these days is very rare.

I am very concise in choosing an ICO to join. First you must read and learn the project by reading the White Paper. Then, you must know also the team behind the project. Check every social media they have and it's also important to know about their roadmap whether the project is for long term or just short term project.

I'm still a learner when it comes to this, but one thing i know is to look at the white paper, check the activeness of their social media eg, twitter, facebook, telegram etc and also the number in circulation, then the usecase of the coin. I think these will help a little.

i agree with you,
i also prefer investing in old coins because the risk of losing is less than investing in new coins. many new coins are now drowning and dying, i've often lost money on new coins.

but if we dare to take the risk for that, i think there is no harm in trying to invest in new coins. because some new coins are also very profitable, it's just that we have to be more careful in choosing from the many new coins.
