Forbes recently released a list of the world’s richest individuals in terms of cryptocurrency. There are currently 19 people in the world who own an equivalent of more than $350 million in crypto assets. The top owners of cryptocurrency in the world amassed their wealth in a variety of ways, but most are founders of large cryptocurrency projects and cryptocurrency exchange platforms. Others are either individual investors or part of investment groups and some have established very profitable cryptocurrency mining operations. The one thing that the richest in crypto have in common is that they are all the types to “HODL” (hold on for dear life), meaning that they hold on to their cryptocurrency through any downturns in the market and aren’t quick to make crypto-to-crypto or crypto-to-fiat trades.

That’s a nice list; guess we'll see some more new faces added here in the coming years. Who knows if we'll see the same faces in the later years. There has been numerous projects regarding cryptos. Not all may survive but it definitely has the future. Patience is the key to crypto success.

I honestly hate watching other's faces instead I should do something like them. They are there only because they make the right decision at the right time and worked hard on that. They are simply there because they wear lucky and they wear talented. Maybe with common peoples cannot be such wealthy people like them but I am sure we will be almost near them at 10 years from now.

You've made the right decision. You got interested in cryptocurrencies in their early stage, you joined the forum, you most likely saved up some coins. You haven't made as much money as these people, but you're on the right track. At least you're making some money and investing, which is something most people will never do in their lives. Truth is less than 30% of people in the world have savings and even less than that have the guts to invest these savings. Among those who do maybe 1% invests in new technologies and startups. THat's the truth. We bitcoiners are this 1%.

There's probably many many more unknown people/groups who have more funds TBH.

It feels great to watch people like them who had the determination at that point in the market when it was just introduced. we all should take a lesson from them to hold; to have patience and persistence to gain the most of it from this market.

Isn't Satoshi richer than all of them? Why isn't he on the list?

He's unknown, no face to put to the name.

Plus, I'm not sure they would be able to correctly gauge his network. Besides bitcoin, he may have other ventures.

For example, I don't know the net worth of Hal Finney *or other early members*, but it may be high considering he was an early adopter of BTC.

This message and the accompanying list looks amazing and incredible to all crypto enthusiasts. Am sure there are  several wealthy people in the world of crypto who are not on the list. Crypto is here to make life more comfortable, very soon majority of the  people across the globe will embrace bitcoin.

They can use a silhouette as a picture (I've seen it done with other posts). As for his net worth all they need to do is give an approximate number. We know how much BTC he has so we know the minimum of his worth.

Yes there are may crypto riches in the world right now.. And those people who we know, i think there are lots of people we would never know that they have billions in crypto money.. I wish i become one of them in the future :)

Even if you do not have as much money as they do, but it does not mean that you cant earn more. The fact that these people have achieved such a result should serve as an incentive and motivation for you not to give up. We must work hard and we will be able to achieve your goal.

The crypto market has opened an opportunity to make huge money and many users of this market have made most of it. Most of the crypto milliners are the owners of different crypto projects but there are some milliners who were individual investors or investment group. There are so many people are earned lots of money from this market .They are Chris Larsen; Joseph; Brock; Matthew Mellon and many mores .these peoples are earns lots of profit from here.

You can use ths picture or these people as motivation, inspiration for not giving up even the market is in a good or bad situation and also they are all the types to “HODL” (hold on for dear life) where in the downfall of the price will never affect them and will still hold and wait until the right time. Looks like a very well thought list and the people on this list surely deserve the places. Looks like Chris Larsen has made quite a lot of money from making a decentralized yet centralized coin like Ripple. But given the recent situation of how Ripple is being treated among the crypto enthusiasts he might not stay on the top for long.

Of course it is but his identity is unknown until now and i'm not into it because I respect his/her decision of staying anonymous. Anyway, great to see such list. The first thing come into my mind when I saw this is imagining if I bought a lot of btc when it was introduced. Maybe I could be one them too or maybe I could be wealthy enough to make a living now.

Yes, that's not surprising. There are a lot of rich people in the encrypted world, and as the price of Bitcoin goes up, I think that investing in this market early or mining people will get a lot of wealth in the short term.

I have great respect for these guys. They believed in something when it was young. I'm sure lots of people thought that they were crazy, but now they're crazy rich. I'm sure there are lots of people how have just as much in crypto and more than these guys. Not everybody wants to announce it to the world. I wonder why these people are open about how much they've made? It seems like it could put at more risk than usual. I also noticed that there looks to only be one Russian (?) name and one Chinese name. Surprising. Why do you guys think there are no woman in this list?

Looks like most of them are the sharks that we talk about when we talk of manipulation of market. But; I think Winklevoss' assets are very much understated in this list. These two brothers have been working with cryptocurrency for a long time now so it's hard to believe that they are not billionaires yet.

Impressive list. As much as I am inspired, I am also led to think otherwise. Could this be an incentive to make other people stay? I remember quite a number of schemes like the GNLD. The big names were always used as a source of motivation for the smaller investors. I mean if they could make this much, then what stops me from doing the same... Or so they try to make you think. But since this list is coming from Forbes, I might be forced to trust it to some extent.

These pictures again made me realise. If only I could have taken the right decision at the right time, I would have been in the list. I know it is not too early nor too late. Hopefull in a span of 5 to 10 years I might be in that list.

Hi, everybody. Well done people believed in the system when many did not believe in it. The result is obvious. Over the years, the list will be updated.

Where is a picture of Satoshi? Little joke doesn`t hurt, but it`s nice to see all those faces together, each of them contribute to blockchain. Changes and improvements are happening as we speak, like someone said, this people believed and worked for blockchain when nobody didn`t knew nothing about it, I can freely say that this people are responsible that something big is happening, without them this changes wouldn`t even start. Thanks to them we are here now, and now with this prices people have funds to expend this to a whole world. For me, these are nice people. The main thing is that all their resources move us in the way. I hope when the list of owners with the minimum amount will be printed in the next year there will be thousands of them.

Well it is indeed nice to see those names. They push the market stronger knowing that there are those who made good decisions within the cryptocurrency market.

One thing though, i am sure these guys listed here are well capable of investing or simply put, they have the means and most probably, they are rich already even prior bitcoin.

What i would love to see is a list of those financially struggling but was able to turn the tides with the help of cryptocurrency. This would be a great valuable source of inspiration to many. To know their story and humble beginnings will be a stepping stone and flight plan for many.

I think we should really appreciate these people because they took the risk of holding the high net-worth in crypto that helped us to grow with the exponential rate. However, on the other hand, there are many unknown places behind the scenes including Satoshi to whom we owe the credit. if I always try to meet and learn from bitcoiners who have become millionaires. to learn from them both in terms of experience and knowledge so that I can follow in their footsteps .

Soon larger part of the general population over the globe will grasp bitcoin. And it's really a great thing that most bitcoin users are aiming for being wealthy in here. But alongside of it, we should keep in mind what is really the essence of bitcoin.

So basically they all the founders of some platform or coin which made them billionaire and millionaire. I guess its no wonder if they are the founders of big firm and getting huge money out of the market. To reach the stable position in bitcoin, is not as easy as that. It needs a lot of time, effort, and strength. Thanks for this buddy for sharing this people who are behind those top cryto currencies in crypto world but no one can beat if the owner of bitcoins or create is revealed, I do not think if he/she or they are the richest people in the world not in crypto currencies.

The only persons I know that are wealthy in crypto are those winklevoss twins. They are so smart that they think ahead of time so for that I idolize them.

Mostly, people who are millionaires from cryptocurrecies are the ones that developed their own coins, few investor individuals or probably, a member of a group of individuals who come to together to invest money and resources in cryptocurrency market. That is why you see a million coin come up everyday, designed on ethereum or other strong platforms. But you need to know what works for you and who you are really. It goes a long way to know how what weak point you might want to work on, or what strength you want to invest on. These guys are smart investors, they are not shaky at heart and most importantly, they study the market timely. So before you idolize any of them, better find out what is it you need from your idol, or else your dreams may not come through. Good luck.

@tegarp90 - perhaps there's a lot of bigger whales in the water but they wanted to remain anonymous. Those on the list are personalities who love the limelight so I guess they're fine exposing their crypto wealth.

This is an interesting article, these people are already so rich that they do not need to sell anything so all these are going with the principle HODL, common seller in crypto market is either a small investor or a miner or coin earner for living, those who can hold good coins will surely get their assets multiplied by many times, take example of BTC in 2012 and today's rate, HODL is a nice choice if someone does not require urgent cash.

You are right, I think they have seen the potential of crypto many years ago and they have had a lot of wealth from it. It is the result of business in the cypto and they deserve it.

Woah that surely is a very big amount of investment, that maybe i can't never make through working all my life.
And here, many people still said bitcoin is not worth it, scam, fake and other things. Too bad they don't know that you can surely be very rich from this.

This is the first time Forbes has issued a list like this since it was founded in 1917. The valuation of wealth is based on the income that can be earned after trading in assets and shares in a business related to digital currency. This was a big time whales out there that might manipulate our market. Im just thinking what will happen if this big whales combine and manipulated the market to earn big profit from us. They sure a big player in cryptos field.

I think that there is much more annonymous crypto owners that are almost as rich as these guys. They are here because they share their wallet with famous project but finally private investors are probably beating some of them and just want to stay anonymous.

Those people really believe on crypto thats why they are on that situation. They take risk just to earned a good profit. Theres nothing impossible if you really wants to have it. Whatever struggle happened you may pursue what you are doing to achieve it.

Nice compilation but I do not think the list is exhausted. Plus, I'm sure there were some crucial people completely missed but I guess when one is so big they become too hard to even track!

This is just a main list yet these people are known ones but there are actually individuals which would really be on this line up but didn't tend to show up themselves.


Whales do exist on any markets neither on crypto,forex,stocks or any other similar fields. Manipulation is somehow expected.

You'll follow them because they are the richest people in crypto? not everything they say/tweet are adoptable. They found success in crypto and invested large money to it for believing what it can bring to them and now they are reaping all of those things they planted before.

Yeah if you know what's their history you'll be amazed on how this twin are smart in terms of technology. They invested the money that they got from suing facebook to bitcoin and now, look on how much they have.

I do hope that you're not following them to the point. I mean majority of them are early adopters so it make sense for them to really became wealthy specially during the peak in 2017 and I don't see them giving advise in terms of investing here because I would rather do my own research rather than relying to others.

Crypto is suppose to be (psuedo) anonymous so there might be a lot of rich folks out their who get their windfall through early investments.

I think these people became rich because they had their own exclusive fresh and creative ideas that other people invested in. Following someone is the same as eating up after someone.

perhaps more precisely is, the richest contributor to the crypto industry in the world. because if we only talk about the amount of wealth, I am sure there are many large capitalist whale groups who are able to manipulate crypto market prices directly. but are they well known? I don't think so, because they don't contribute directly to crypto development, what they want is only profit. while the list is great people who want to express their thoughts for the development of the crypto industry.

I am believe they become rich from crypto because they hold their coin for long term. But from what i am read, satoshi holding more than 1million bitcoin and if he selling his coin, i am believe he will become richest in crypto world

I think the only person who will remain in top 10 even after the bear market is Mr Z. As the exchange will still be profitable no matter what market condition. Though they have also the  native coin that is also tanking as of this time, it will still be as strong as anyone else in the top 50.

These people are really courageous and determined to their dreams and that dreams turns into reality. Indeed, Im very happy and inspired to see people become successful because of their dreams. Cryptocurrency era creating new rich people and i think its natural. They become rich from cryptocurrency because they believe cryptocurrency from the start and investing their money. I think more people will rich in the future if cryptocurrency market cap value reach trillion dollar

This is a very inspiring list. It is very interesting to see people involved in the development of cryptocurrency. And what was important for me-these people sincerely believe in their products and continue to develop to keep them despite all the instability of the cryptocurrency market. This is a great example for all investors.

Most likely, the list of creators of different coins is far from complete. But this is already enough to get a portion of inspiration and continue to study the sphere of crypto-currencies. This is not only very interesting, but also can bring a great income, as we have seen. And I was very happy to see my countrymen in this list.

theres no real evedince that satoshi did hold that amount  . i believe its only a rumor but let say its true ,  i think satoshi wont sell it because he will not ruin his own invention  as it can cause alot of dump if ever he sell all that amount  .

The richest people in cryptomir have achieved great success due to their technology and manipulation on the cryptomarket. They know and are able to much more than an ordinary person.

Yes, they were very lucky that they were patient and persistent and now appeared in this list. This is a good motivation, I think. After all, each of us can also get there, you only need to believe in yourself and be patient.

A lot of the people on this list already had money before crypto, but it's amazing to see how well these entrepreneurs have done. It gives me the inspiration to try and follow in their footsteps. Out of the list, my 3 favourites are Vitalik, Winklevoss Twins and CZ from Binance. They all have a lot of personality, they believed in their ideas and it has worked out pretty damn well for them.

 Millennials are more than old generation if we consider the range of age in this list in my opinion. Whales have power to start new trends but there is no such thing called consensus of crypto whales.

They are early adopter and believer in cryptocurrency and they make bussiness from cryptomarket. Like binance, CEO is one of richest people in crypto because binance is big exchanger and used by most cryptocommunity with big daily transaction volume

I am a simple crypto user and I do hope that someday, if I will be given a chance to meet the wealthiesr people in crypto, I will gladly grab that opportunity. Hopong to get some advice and some story about Bitcoin.

I think the point is that they didn't become rich over night. it took them time, hard work and a lot of effort. Like you mentioned creative ideas also played a key role.

Indeed, there are many people who are rich just because of their right decisions, and that happens to my own friends.

Maybe there are lots of out there who aren't published about the richest people in the Crypto world, actually I don't really bother with these things and questions, but at least I appreciate what they achieved in the Cryptocurrency world and gain the success of their sweat to develop and introduce Bitcoin throughout world...

You really think they got lucky? Saying that they were "lucky" would just be an insult to them. They were not lucky. They just worked for it and pursued they goal. They were able to achieve their goal through this hard work. No luck, just their hard work or may be we can say that they built their own luck.
There might be others who has more vast amount of wealth on crypto, but these people have done something extra ordinary that makes them more valuable.

In the Op clear data is provided regarding the wealthiest people in crypto. Going through their earning they have made some innovation in the cryptocurrency network. That is the one that has made them get listed among the wealthiest people in crypto. Even now it isn't much mature, the blockchain technology is young. One who can innovate in this will get listed soon.

My eyes always called Satoshi on the list. Yes, we do not know the fate of Satoshi, but the number of Bitcoins he owns and his wealth may be very high. So it should have been on the list ... Everyone on the list should be grateful to Satoshi.

People who deserve respect. One of the few who were able to realize their own projects and make the world of cryptocurrencies more progressive. I think this list could get Sasha Ivanov who created the project of the Wave. I am also proud of them. The founder of Litecoin Charlie Lee is also an important person.

I see that there are still people who become wealthy from cryptocurrency, there are still some people who have not been included in the list, for example, the browser that seems still not on the list and there are still many of the richest people in the cryptocurrency that have not been listed.

I was not surprised if Forbes included them in the list because their wealth came from us who used their services. but some of the current projects have failed due to the drastic decline in market prices. many startups fail and die. lack of preparation is also a reference that this is not as easy as what we imagine

we also have wealthy men here in Africa and other parts of the world. the fact is that the blockchain technology has name replaced with alphanumeric strings and therefore keeps people's identities anonymous thereby giving a degree of security to the owners of wallets and not disclosing their network but for exceptions on the EOS blockchain that has human readable names or customised symbols to a particular account owner. we would have noticed that it is much more than just these few mentioned above.

If you compare them to the real world they are like the celebrity equivalent when it comes to the world of Crypto Currency and I think these people are really great in hodling their assets that's why good fortune comes to them in the crypto industry. It's some kind of promotion.But O beleive there are also many anonimous cryptocurrencies users who didn't want to reveal they identity and promote themselves in public and maybe they are as much rich or even richer. Anyway, hope that many of them are also crypto enthusiasts, not the ones who only  chase the profit.

IMO, it looks like they need to atleast have an approximate value of their crypto asset since they're identity cannot be private because most of them are the CEO, owner and crypto enthusiast, and has been introduced to the public, its inevitable for the media to ask about their financial status. Individual investors who has large amount of crypto possession may have been keeping their low profile for security purposes.

I really doubt whether this list can be accurate. If you own a huge amount in crypto, then for practical purposes you will try your level best to hide that fact from anyone.
