So I asked my friends regarding their opinions and impressions about bitcoin and their answers made me laugh. One of my friends answered:

"Bitcoin? Bitcoin is used for transactions in deepwebs to buy drugs!"

So they think that bitcoin = deepwebs. So they stay away from bitcoin thinking it was illegal

Another one:

"Its just a waste of time. You will not earn from it"

And when you give him proof that bitcoin is valuable they'll be like "omg teach me how!!" Lol

And lastly,

"Bitcoin? Bitcoin is a scam"

So yea they think bitcoin is fraud and a scam.

It's so funny to think that people who don't have knowledge about bitcoin automatically thinks that bitcoin is a scam because of the issues regarding bitcoin scamming. So yeah.

Most people who don't research something, thinks that Bitcoin is really a scam, it's either they heard it from news or some anti Bitcoin advertisement. And yes a lot of people who's not interested in Bitcoin, thinks that it's a currency in deepweb, to buy some weapon, drugs, and etc...
Lastly, true that when they knew that it's really true, they'll be asking you to teach them, even though they're not interested. Most people thinks that when you invest, you earn and earn and earn, they don't know that there's still risk, that's why when they invest and lost money, they'll say that Bitcoin is a scam.

Couldn't blame them though honestly. Bitcoin "investment" scams are everywhere on social media(especially on 3rd world countries); as well as news about how people got rekt through bitcoin investment scams. So chances are, because of those news, a good number of people would now associate bitcoin with scams. Which is definitely very unfortunate. The only thing we can do is to educate people to not be deceived by those schemes. You see a Facebook post about those schemes, report it. Though I'm not 100% if reporting on Facebook actually does something.

Same accusations and sayings. We should try to look for an alternative ways and solution to use Bitcoin and how to spread it among all people around the world.

There is no alternative way to use bitcoin. It's either as a currency, or as a store of value. That's pretty much it. How do you spread information? Speak about the technology of bitcoin, how it can help people achieve financial freedom, and it's advantages. Don't talk to people about bitcoin as an investment and how they're going to be rich or something stupid. If they find the technology great then chances are they're going to invest themselves; you don't have to tell them to.

It is easy for them to judge something based on their own knowledge only from social media or the news from the television.

I dont really get it. There are too much fools right now. They dont look for a deeper meaning anymore. They want it all fast and then thats it. Putting a period on every thing without researching first.

I would get away from those people.

I got one friend also who just judged me. Although I am surprised he is listening to me.

Told him about how much I have and how bitcoin fluctuates and he says "Why not withdraw? You already made a profit. What if it goes down?"

Explained him again and he says he will withdraw if he have that kind of amount.

First, the problem is does he have the courage to risk the money?
How can he have such an amount if he didnt even tried to step up?

He stopped afterwards.

It seems ridiculous! bitcoin is scam? Dear it is not true, there are many people who hear different false news or think bitcoin a scam coin! But chasing, it does not know that there are people of a kind who announces various false news about bitcoin every year, causing the market to dwan, and in the scope of those who used to publish false news, they buy bitcoin dwon, and when the market is pumped Then they sell! In this way they make a lot of money by fooling ordinary people by themselves.BTC

The answer for this is actually very simple. You have to remember that the media and the movies sensationalized Bitcoin by

focussing on the negative uses of the technology. A lot of the media sell more papers and get more views with sensationalized

Bitcoin articles.  >:(  The public is more exposed to the negative side of Bitcoin, because the positive side is boring to most.

We can only counter this fake image of Bitcoin, if we show them the positive things that are done with Bitcoin.  ;)

Media has something to do with the negative connotation that bitcoin gets. Scams/Ponzi/HYIP.

If you are gullible enough and didn't do your homework then don't blame it on bitcoin. Blame the person not the technology.

I tried to explain bitcoin to my friends and they're like "yeah" "okay" "ahh so thats how it works" yet their perspective about bitcoin didn't change. First impression lasts ey? They still see bitcoin as a scam, a tool for deepweb and any other else. So sad these people are too close minded.

People usually have negative thoughts about everything outside of their knowledge.

You give a view of people who still have any idea about BTC with a funny way. That’s really happened. BTC need some step to clear this concept of people who have bad view about BTC.

It is just normal for people to think of anything especially if they are not properly oriented with what the thing is. Just like bitcoin, they always hear fake news and most of the time if that information is coming from what they know reliable source, they always believe in it.

I think it's a normal reaction for those people who had zero knowledge about bitcoin and for some they just do some conclusion just hearing negative news from other people without even trying to make a research and understanding about bitcoin currency. I believe that it will have to depend on the interest of people if they really are interested to participate or not but in the usual case, once they see evidence that you can really earn btc, that will push them to be interested in making their investment.

My parent didn't want me to use bitcoin because they had hear about many scam cryptocurrency before, they thought that it was ponzi or something dangerous. It takes time to make them believe that bitcoin is safe and good.

I think its normal thing if a lot of people still missleading about bitcoin and how bitcoin's usage for our financial life. Theyjust directly judge based on the negative side of bitcoin without knowing the true benefit of bitcoin itself. But, we can still make it sense juts wait a little bit lobger and im pretty sure that bitcoin will be more popular than before and finally many people can realize the true power of bitcoin.

Bitcoin running it's own way, anyone can viral rumors it's not can effect over bitcoin run. day by day bitcoin get popularity and many of people everyday know about bitcoin.

There is a saying that you can't know the taste of a soup until you have tasted the soup. The above saying is true of the fear and bubble myth of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. All people who new to hear bitcoin had those opinions and impressions, the second one really relates me, i already told bitcoin  to ally close friends but they told me that bitcoin is not true and just wasting time, after 2 months studying i try to participate on signature campaign that pays btc, i told my friends about my first payment, then they cannot believe that i withdraw it, then they want to learn what i actually doing. I said as long as you dont have any prof, they didnt believe you.

It was great explanation how people take BTC who still haven’t any idea about BTC. They take it illegal and think this currency can spent only for bad task.

You know what people judge BiTcoin easily because first of all they doesn't truly understand it...  We cant blame them for doubting it because that's how they percieve it...  But if you are truly a risk taker person amd you try everything which you think is good...  Definitely bitcoin is for you...  We cant judge them because maybe the first thing they understand about it is that...  Some are telling that the first impression last...  But that idea is totally absurd...  Dont judge easlily especially if you didn't truly know the information behind...  Always keep quite and just observe....

I agree, most of the people who just ride on trend believes that Bitcoin is a coin that you use in deep web. They believe that it's a currency there, they're judging Bitcoin itself without researching it properly. And some people who's saying that Bitcoin is a scam, maybe a person who got hyped when the price increases, and invested without being informed what Bitcoin is, experienced a big loss, I guess that's one of the reason why some people are bashing Bitcoin.

Fiat currencies are also used to buy drugs and other illegal stuff. Does that mean that fiat currencies are illegal?

Unfortunately, we are still living in a world resistant to change. Because Bitcoin is something new, with characteristics such as "decentralized" and "unregulated", it brings even more uncertainty to the lay public.

I am just feelings same with my those friends who still haven’t proper knowledge about BTC. They take BTC very negatively always.

Bitcoin has so many good sides along with some negativity. Many people have the misconception that BTC is all about scams and frauds which is absolutely wrong. Due to BTC there are lot of people get their financial freedom.

These people may still be stuck in bitcoin news events. The development of social media in recent years has boosted the world's awareness of bitcoin, but it has also allowed negative news to spread quickly in the short term. I think with the popularity of the encrypted world, most people will accept bitcoin.

actually, before I enter in this industry, I don't trust in the cryptocurrency too, my opinion in this is maybe it just a scam. but when I enter in this industry my firat impression is very different to my opinion. my first impression and until now is that the cryptocurrency is very good and many benefit that give to us. the cryptocurrency is very helpful to us.

I got the same reactions when i tried to introduce my friends to bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I realized that people with no knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency believe what ever they hear from the media. 

Yeah, I have seen so many scam in facebook about cloudmining and I am one of those victims by those scam too before when I am just new to cryptocurrency because I am greedy so I learned my lesson. Seeing how people interpret easily bitcoin as scam when they see the news makes me think that they should be taught that it is not what they perceived it to be but when I try to explain to them, they would just have a cold shoulder later on because they are afraid that they might be convince and then be scammed.


Media has a big influence on the sentiment of the people and more often than not, their report about cryptocurrency is negative since they focus more on negative things that's why when they heard someone explaining it to them, they would just conclude immediately that it is scam. Nowadays, I don't explain to people anymore if they wouldn't approach me first.

At first, when I got to know about bitcoin, I had no knowledge that it was a currency. This was because it attached to an MLM system called zarfund. The end of zarfund made me research and discovered there was more to it than it looked. People think bitcoin is another way to defraud them. Hence they feel that its an MLM system.

These are the common opinions and impressions of people whenever you asked them about bitcoin.They don't believe you unlesss you showed them the proof what you have in bitcoin and they only believe if they see you that you are already successful in bitcoin.

That seems to be true. In my opinion, Bitcoin in particular and MMO in general, most people think of as phishing. They think we sit at home and make money, only scams are so happy. Everyone's thoughts are the propaganda of the government. They do not collect taxes, they hate it, so they bury it. I hope later that we - Bitcoin people will live with everyone.

We can't really blame them if they see it that way, Bitcoin was really used by people who hires assassins and buy drugs for them to be untraceable. Until government agencies starter to make some laws regarding using the tech. We can't also earn from Bitcoin if people keep dumping theirs or people don't buy it anymore. Unless it will start a fire again and will surge like it happened last year. People say it is a scam because they can't touch the thing. No physical body- and only meant to believe that it has a value and nothing more. If they see through it then I guess it will just be another history that was a failure tech.

Im beginner too my opinion in bitcoin is Nice business, and they help other people to earn money, Some people told me bitcoin is not true, But i dont care other people say, i know bitcoin is true, and Bitcoin has so many good sides and bitcoin is cool and great project.

Our impression before we use of bitcoin is "SCAM"  that's true, but after how many months or year specially when we experienced the good service of Bitcoin to our life our impression will become positive. many people gave some bad impression because they are only in speculation not have been to try whats the good service of bitcoin.

Fiat currency itself is not illegal. Buying drugs is illegal. Buying drugs using fiat currency makes people think that fiat is illegal. The currency itself doesn't have to do with people thinking this is illegal. Blame the people who uses fiat for illegal transactions.

Some are being brain washed by social media and do not believe on what we are saying about crypto currency. Crypto when used legally is acceptable and many are being helpful by it. We benefit from it and earn good amount from it but hard to encourage other people to believe on it but remember that they will regret as what I felt when I doubt it.

I believe the present system of bitcoin is good enough for transaction. Bitcoin technology is highly develop also people are use it comfortably. I use this coin such a long time and I believe this coin.

Blockchain tech is already being used in so many industries and bitcoin is already accepted my many merchants. Definitely the problem lies on "what ought to be believed" in other words, ignorance. Yes it is true that even if they are into some of negative opinions about bitcoin because it is associated with negative sections; thus also to be generalized as nothing but disaster. First time I heard about bitcoin and that we can make money from it, I ask myself, really? How could that be? Basically, I really don't have known what is bitcoin and how does it work. it's same with my experiences, on the first time i know bitcoin, there are so much people say that bitcoin is only a bubble, but when i can buy a car from bitcoin, people who say that bitcoin is bubble wanna learn about bitcoin to me, and now bitcoin price is drop again, and that people say bitcoin a bubble again

It is funny how media succeeded to convince people that cryptocurrencies are bad, used for bad stuff and so on. This is just a ridiculous attempt to stop the acceptance of cryptocurrencies and abuse of economy. The global economy is built on money made out of thin air and debt. Cryptocurrencies are equally distributed (as much as possible) and inflation is minimal. I hope this era of uninformed discussions and weak strikes against good changes will pass soon. Concerning reactions - the best one is: "Can I use it in games?"  :D

My first impression about bitcoin was not that good. I thought of it negatively. But right now, I have proved that bitcoin is such a good investment. My today’s opinion about bitcoinis is, it will grow again. :-[

Many people who have not bought or know only part of BTC information will say BTC has little value, so these messages can be ignored by someone who has invested in crypto.

I get interested in bitcoin last year when a close friend of mine introduced it to me and saw how they enjoy their earnings in bitcoin even though they are only a college students.
From there,asked there help how to join in this forum.Through it open my mind for the greater purpose of bitcoin...gaining extra income in an easy way .A big help to those who believe.A blessing from above in order to meet up the basic needs of the people.

I think it is still necessary to make greater efforts to educate people about the true nature of cryptocurrencies and how they can contribute to improving their quality of life, although to be honest I have seen a greater diffusion in this regard, so I am sure that gradually people will begin to adopt the cryptos in a natural and organic way, as things should always be.  :)

Peoples opinion about bitcoin is good in the sense that it has created an extra source of income

Its very sad to hear this type of news. It's really disappointing that they don't know the exact benefits and greatness of it. Also there are so many negatives reviews spread by the haters of bitcoin which make them to believe like this.

And you are one of those peole. Bitcoin is not a magic wand that improves the person's quality of living after just throwing money at it. You might want to step back a little bit and appreciate the technology behind it, that is, blockchain to which it has many use cases in our society.

It's hard to believe the first one though as the results shows us that the BTC dominance has decreased in buying illegal items on the dark web and has increased on the speculation side of cryptocurrencies. Most of the people are using BTC for trading. It's hard to believe that people still think BTC is used just for buying drugs and all those stuff. The other two opinions are quite expected from people these days who don't have the knowledge about crypto.

Nothing is beyond criticism. When people are not successful then they blame on others like this. Moreover it is the fault of the users who use bitcoin for such things. After all saying of some people cannot make anything bad.

If all your friends said it, you just have to explain to them that Bitcoin is not as bad as they think about it.

It is not their fault though. If asked to any third party who are not that invested in the market, and with the news of scams running galore, this sort of reaction is evident.

Don't you think we are somehow also responsible for this? We know about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies but we don't really try to educate those around us who still don't know how promising Bitcoin can be and as a matter of fact, the mass adoption is not being possible because of such attitude of ours.

I am very optimistic about Bitcoin's future and in general the future of cryptocurrencies in our World. Day by day people are getting frustrated with authority and governments and looking for liberation from them. Cryptocurrencies will actually give people more flexibility and control over their wealth removing governments and middlemen. Specifically, Bitcoins will have a tremendous future because of its limited supply which is less than 21 million. So again, I see a bright future for Bitcoins and good things are still on its way!

The main reason for such attitude towards bitcoin is because of the scams, shitcoins, hacks and somewhat the economic experts. Besides, general people doesn’t research much and they just rely on some bad news and think that bitcoin has no use and it’s a scam. It’s better to avoid discussing crypto with these people.

I think it is very normal for them to think like that because the bitcoin industry is portrayed to the outer world like that. The media is too much focused on showing the negative sides of the coin but they don't tell people how Bitcoin is actually creating employment sector for people, or making the transactions easier and faster. So, we need to focus on doing that too.

For me, bitcoin is a digital currency with decentralized platform. Decentralized means free from monopolized.

Well I'm not surprised with the answers your friend gave. Not only your friends it is the scenario of 2/3 people of the whole world because bitcoin is relatively new concept and many coutries did not legalize those still. So, don't worry after 5 or 10 years it will be known to most of the people.

Newcomers to Bitcoin are the spark to improve their finances, if they invest in safety. Those who are investing Bitcoin see Bitcoin as the trump card.

It's quite natural. Because most of the people are still anware about cryptos and bitcoin. So, when they will have the knowldege of it's existence automatically the scene will be changed.

Lol relatable so much. Well it's very true that most people who know nothing about bitcoin will only say it's illegal, scams, or something related to criminals and also deep webs. I'm not gonna blame them though, since they just lack of informations but it might be better for those people not to judge easily. What annoys me is that after they say those bad things, when they know i can earn and make money from bitcoin, they'll be like omg teach me! And so on. I wonder what can we do to change the perspective and impressions about bitcoin.

That's normal for those people who haven't gone through bitcoin's goodness like profit earning. Let's just let them say bad about bitcoin at first, but in the long run good thoughts will come. We can't please everybody to learn how bitcoin goes towards it's profitable provision to every person. The proof behind the benefits we had with bitcoin can be determined by other people like our friends and family. They wanted to see what's changed on us before they used to acquire knowledge, and the trigger was our efforts towards bitcoin.

Just don't care about what they say and prove them wrong by actually showing them how bitcoin really works and what it is. If someone is smart enough he will get the point and change his opinion, if not than let them stay the way they are and don't waste your time trying to prove them something they can't understand.

I thought that bitcoin is just like another multi level marketing too before and it was just a fad and then be gone thereafter but after I search more about it, I learned the possibility of it to become big base in its history. I learned about it when it was worth around $300 during that time and seeing the history of its price, I was encourage to invest something on it but unfortunately, I invested first in those cloud mining scams before I learned my lesson and register in this forum. I can't blame those who think it is scam because it is what the media wants them to think.

As the adaptation rate of bitcoin is increasing significantly over the years since it was launched, i believe that it is already enough proof to say that bitcoin's future is really promising. Holding on your bitcoin for few or several years can surely give you a very good profit.

Well, when my friend asked me what is bitcoin i told him this “ what is bitcoin? I have no idea what it is “ . That was one year ago, now i know what is bitcoin . After i found out what is bicoin i asked my other friends and their answer was “ i dont know “ . A lot of people still dont know what is bitcoin . Bitcoin is not what it was,its already old and what’s old its already expired, not good .there will come some new altcoin , better than bitcoin or any orher coin . Its always the same . A king will fie eventuality and someone needs to take his place.

The technology is still unfamiliar to some people. Although the concept is fundamental and easy to understand, most people are more adamant to change. Bitcoin is still young and needs a lot of efforts from users in order to create more awareness and clear misconceptions people have about crypto.

I have already seen personally all those comments and reactions, although the good side of this is that unlike what used to happen a couple of years ago, at least people already seem to be more aware of the existence of cryptocurrencies, which it did not happen then when only a small percentage of the population had notions about bitcoin. Now we just need to make greater efforts to promote a more certain education and information about what bitcoin can really contribute to society and all the potential that its technology can offer to improve the economy of people.

I think that bitcoin is something that we should develop. Actually I have not yet understood clear how it works. But i m still working on it, because if bitcoin appears in our lifes and in the world, why we should ignore it ? Everybody has their own opinion and impressions about bitcoin. We cannot deny the fact that more of them tell negative about it. Because they really dont know bitcoin and only focus on the news that they heard. We cannot blame them its their opinion but we who truly understand bitcoin can tell them or give them some knowledge about it.

We know that what is bitcoin and the sector of it. But everyone has their own opinion. Anyone can press his own opinion. I think it is better that you shouldn't try heart and soul about them. If they are intelligence and have idea about modern world, they will understand the benefits of the crypto currency.

I don't doubt this because i submitted a proposal to one of the mobile games i play (final fantasy XV). I asked them why they are not integrating cryptocurrency like Bitcoin into their payment because there are players like us with some Bitcoin. The reply that came was, "Bitcoin is scam and used on the dark web". I got worried and had to push forward to try and explain the concept to them. I was finally told they will read more about it and if possible try and integrate it.
People have the misconception that Bitcoin is scam, ponzi scheme etc, It is the duty of crypto users to reach out to the world and explain to them the beneficial concept of Bitcoin.

it is a normal answer if said by ordinary people, even those who are not too concerned with the internet. the fact is that bitcoin is still considered taboo by some people, especially in developing countries and third world countries. many still think that cryptocurrency = bitcoin, or bitcoin is a dangerous thing like your friends say. it is precisely our duty together as a community in the crypto industry, to continue to educate them so that crypto can be accepted in the future.

I could remember introducing Bitcoin earlier this year to my colleagues and they both bursted out in laughter followed by sympathetic look.
They said Bitcoin is scam and that i should be very careful so I don't get to loose my money.

really ? five minutes for an atm is long because what we know atm's are always operating instantly after you put the amount that you want to withdraw . yet i think this bitcoin atm is only on thier beta stage , soon we can expect that they will improve this feature  .


yes that is true . they  say those things because they didnt ever use a bitcoin but if you explained it to them carefully with proof's like showing your latest withrawal reciept or any transaction receipt related to bitcoin for sure they will become interested to try it out .

The first thing i heard the word bitcoin was in year 2010. And i only think of it as a fraud, besides at that time no forum would have discussed to me about bitcoins, and when my friend told me about this forum bitcointalk, explains to me the concepts and the things about bitcoinand cryptocurrency. By the point that its me to introduce bitcoins to my friends, the first word they told me without having idea what bitcoin is, was it just wasting time and effort, can't make money out of it, but i proved them wrong.

I beleve that the bitcoin has become a currency like euros and dollar. I am saying this because the bitcoin price stayed stable after the huge rise and lost. In last 7 or 8 months the price goes between $6000-7000. Bitcoin investments or HODLing is not effective anymore for me now. If you buy bitcoin and want to make money in trades you should buy big amoount of it otherwise you can't win much.. The time passed i believe. The altcoins market is more risky but you can make more money than the bitcoin market i am sure.

It's no different than people using other currencies for illegal things. The main reason people might think this is they don't know what Bitcoin is and they're first being introduced to it in a story about someone doing something illegal.
