ETC was just listed and trading on coinbase. Comparing with NEO, which one is better for holding?

As for me it's better to invest for a long time in ethereum because this coin shows reliability and stable growth  8)

I think both are good for holding, both of them are among the top 15 coins in coinmarketcap. ETC and NEO is agood investment for the long term.

I don't know much about ETC but I have been holding Neo since January and the value keep dropping.  I will try to study this coin and if possible invest along as I thing if we invest in any of the knowing coin now we would make money if we hold for long-term.

Despite the fact that the ETC listing on coinbase, I think it's better to buy Neo. What does the team of the ETC do? What product are they preparing? What will create liquidity for their tokens? while there are no answers.

personally i believe that no altcoin is ever good for holding (long term investment). they are most suited for short term trading which you just take the profit and move to the next one.
but if you want to do it, in the current market situation that every altcoin is bleeding hard it may not be such a good idea to make decisions right now. i would wait for the rising signals to start coming out before making an investment.

In my opinion, It is better to hold eth rather than neo because the price of eth more valuable rather than neo. If we compare the price of eth today with neo in the coinmarketcap, there is big gap that eth can reach $280 but neo $16 and then because of the market most of coins affected and make the price of coins decrease. So, the decrease of the value coin is not just effected for eth but also neo too.

Most Alt dropped 90% from ATH in current bearish market. So very hard to choose a good one for holding.

Both are good coins to hold…but hold for long term, market is bearish so buy much as you can but never sell & hold for long term.
You can also hold some other coins along with ETC & NEO if you can than buy more, BNB, GVT & NPXS are also having potential & return you a reasonable profit.

i don't really follow the altcoin news these days but if ETC was actually listed on Coinbase then there should be a pump already going on for this coin which you can use to profit. but only for short term.
so far it seems like ETC had a little rise like the rest of the altcoins, nothing major. maybe you need to check the source of your news.

They are still both altcoins as far as I am concerned, and they sure both have some prospects in growth in the long run, no doubt. However, if you are asking which is better to hodl, that would be a question only you can answer, because you may need to actually understand the two projects, do your due diligence and see which one you feel would be more appealing in the long run. ETC being on coinbase does not change anything, it is the same as being listed on any other solid exchange, except for the fact that it gets accessible to more investors.

They are simply both in the same category of smart contract usage though, with different features and I am sure you know how ETC came about. Make your decisions based on that, and if you cannot make a solid decision, there is no harm in going in on the two. After all, that is the essence of diversifying we always talk about, since we obviously cannot predict the future of any coin.

I don't think either of the them are worth to hodl. ETC is just a copy of ethereum but with less people to use that, and neo seems famous but with less technology in that.

I think the better choice is to hold tezos. 

At this point I'd suggest you hold your USD (not USDT!) if you haven't invested yet. Whait for the bottom that we'll see in a couple of months or so

Looking at current situation at the market and low prices of alt coins you can hold both ETC and NEO but keep in mind that ETC has already grew up significantly.

I am investing in NEO, the price is truly at a discount and it has a lot more future ahead of it. There are a lot of DAPPs and project already built around the NEO smart contract.

I read his comment and completely agree NEO is going to survive the crash and the use cases for crypto will come, NEO will be the tech many will decide to use. Quantum resistance, dBFT, tx speed, dividends. Smart contracts can programmed in one of many languages. Thin how much work and futzing it would take BCH to become quantum resistant.

ETC is better than NEO, for me invest into ETC will more profitable for long term period. You can enter the market but the risk is sideways still running, so patience is needed. I suggest you to enter market and invest into ETC at November, at that time market will show the real move. Wait for now and good luck to you.

Some people here are mistaking ETC for ETH which is Ethereum. ETC stands for Ethereum Classic which came as a result of the fork in Ethereum. As for the decision making, I think both cryptocurrency are very good so you’re going to be making the decision based on your own personal reasons. But the price analysis I checked last for ETH, ETC and NEO shows that this is probably one of the most exciting times despite the slow market.

If your budget allows you then you may go for some other coins which are having only less than 25% of their all time high price levels. If you buy and hold them then you may get up to 3x profit in very quicker time. Do your own research by referring coinmarketcap and find out such coins. But, please do not ask again to this community as people suggest some random coins rather than suggesting the actual.

Trade advises these days do not come for free and even if anyone should see a free one, it is better to at least have some trading knowledge to be able to get the best from the market. One thing however, is that the like of tradingview.com have some cryptocurrency pro traders that can be followed and some of them are actually good. Nevertheless, no trader can predict the future and they can as well be wrong at times, which is the main reason to always know what to do in such cases.

I must agree with you. People are recommending in open discussion the coins where they have invested already or promoting their own coins with alt accounts. This is only happening every topic of this board and in altcoin speculation board. I guess some serious steps are required to protect the welfare of this community which includes lots of novice and innocent investors.

I think ETC

ETC is Altcoin extracted from the source code of Ethereum, and it's widely known through the hard fork event, so the potential is not as high as its predecessor. Anchor Altcoin created with its ecosystem that makes it different from any Altcoin. So, I recommend NEO selection.

both altcoins are good for holding ETC and NEO but for me if the market was not so good i mean if it is bleeding so hard then i would rather to hold ETC rather than to hold NEO because ETC is more valuable than NEO the price of ETC is better than NEO. Although personally i didn't try holding both altcoins but it is just my views and opinion about your question.

ETC and Neo are both solid coins, it is good to invest in both. However, I will invest more in Neo since there is still lots of room to grow.

I would pick ETC because it is ETH right?  We all know that   it is the best and at the top in-line. PLUS even neo is one of the altcoin who can make a fight to the tops/ king and queen of the cryptocurrency.

So, for me I would say why not try to invest in other altcoin and yes, your just here for a suggestion but Iam just saying follow your guts whatever you think it would be.

I'd pick ETC over NEO, in my own honest opinion, if you want to HODL a currency that will benefit you, regardless if it is long term or short term hodling it is still one of the best platforms, ETC is capable of being stable and assuring you that when you hodl, you'll gather a lot of profit after a week, month or a year, so I'll be picking ETC over NEO, though NEO is a great platform, though I'd still pick ETC over it

I think NEO, not only because it is one of the most backed up coins at the moment, but because it drop tremendously in the last weeks, so it is really cheap at the moment and what comes next is only growth which translates in more profits, especially more if you are aiming for long term.

I would prefer NEO because IT has good prospects for further development.

The both coins are very good because they are on the same category and I have investment in the both coins, ETC had a major price increase because of the coinbase listing and I believe if NEO is listed on coinbase as well, it will do the same, so I have invested in both of them.

If we have to compare ETC and NEO, it is of course a very difficult thing because the two coins currently have a low value and if we have to choose it is definitely a loss for us because if we can invest and hold these two coins why we choose between the two, although from a technical point of view we see NEO superior to ETC but if you see the potential to get more profits, of course ETC will be very fast.

Etc And Neo, two coins from whom the best of the place It would be better to hold two coins. Etc is currently at Coinbase. It's very good position. On the other hand Neo has its own Wallet. But if you told me tell you I'll hold Neo.

Etc recently got a good rising because it was listed in coin base, for me etc is a better coin to invest it got more transactions volume and there are some site that accept it, after all neo is China's coin, when the government declare banning the neo price could be affected, so investing in neo got more risk

For now in the current market seen at the CMC site, ETC in terms of ranking at no.13 is higher than Neo at rank no.15. However, with respect to percentage market increase Neo is at  26% (change 24H) while ETC is only at 4.85%(change 24H) and definitely I can say for now that NEO is much better than ETC in this current situation.

In my point of view I'd invest both so that you can compare which is better. Although ethereum has a little edge but u think both coin have good potential to become stronger in the future. Let's say you split 60-40 percent put investment a little bit higher to the one coin you think better chance in market.

For me both are good to hold. I didn't pay much attention to ETC, but by looking at its current position it certainly has good growth. NEO has experienced a significant decline lately, though I believe NEO is an altcoin that is good for long-term investments.

for the moment I can't give advice on buying altcoins because the price is now decreasing, from the two altcoins in the elite ranks in coinmarketcap, I think it's the same, but I prefer NEO because it once got profit when trading the coin

When comparing ETH and NEO we saw that both coins have some edges over other. But still, i preferred NEO over  ETH.
And in this case Between ETC  and NEO, I would suggest holding both in some proportion as for long run both coins can show some good return if market Stabilises and goes up. And in this bearish market stack up your ammo and hold till Bull run comes :D

Well in my own opinion, the two coins are good for a hold but if i am to make a choice and choose just one to hold then it will be eth, I will choose eth because it has more adoption to NEO,

NEO 3.0 is going to be a platform upgrade, not a sidechain or a hard fork like some have suggested. NEO 3.0 will not affect the UX in a major way, aside from an introduction of the Consensus Node voting feature and a few platform tweaks (introduction of divisible NEO, fractional system fees and etc.). The majority of the work is going to affect the inner workings of the core implementation, including, but not limited to improved NeoVM performance, upgraded smart contract feature list and increased TPS via the removed transaction cap. Unfortunately, no major consensus protocol improvements are anticipated for now.

Both coins are good, both have potential. In Etherium Classic, I like that it has not fallen so much in price in the bear market... still holding up pretty good.

I think the two coins are good for hodl, if it's me, I will divide the invest into 2 and invest in the two coins so that which ever one that turn out to be successful, I will profit from it.

ETC and NEO are both excellent coins that are in the top coins and very promising in the future . Therefore, if you can not decide which is better, I advise you to invest in both, then you will not lose

I divide my portfolio into three areas: NEO, BTC, and the altcoins that I know are gonna rise, but I always get in at the wrong time and get out at the wrong time, so I take most of my losses there.

Well everyone has his own opinion about investment, If i am looking for a long term investment, then I will go for NEO because I will buy more NEO compare to the money I will use to buy eth. So for me I will go for NEO.

I think NEO, NEO is setting eyes to new markets in Switzerland and this can be a major boost in the eyes of regulators. Given its infrastructure development, structural realignments and Ontology collaborations are some of the anticipated events to spur the coin growth going forward.

where the best certainly the opinion of every person will be different. but for the long term, I think the potential of NEO greater than ETC. NEO has more maturity and good capital to survive an even more as investment assets.

I honestly think they are both suited for long term investments, their value dropped considerably in the last months so their long term profitability is almost lost, just try to take advantage of their current low prices and invest on them on short term.

I don´t think there is any reason whatsoever to hold ETC. The community is small, the developments insubstantial and there is nothing to say about where this fork came from

NEO is more interesting for those who want movements and significant possibilities for the future. ETH tends to follow realitvely horizontal trends mostly and is less good for trading.

I will choose NEO for long term hodl because it's very cheap now and have bigger potential to grow then ETC especially after NEO can be mass adopted in East Asia.

NEO is one of the first altcoin to be born in China, it has the technology and development plan is quite similar to Ethereum so many people call NEO is Ethereum of China. However, if you choose between NEO and Ethereum Classic then I would choose Ethereum Classic. ETC brings high stability. I believe in the future ETC will grow stronger and bring more profit than NEO. Before now, almost everyone was talking about NEO. There were lots of NEO holders and we saw it performing well,but in recent time, the story changed, because NEO plunged. I don't see much value in ethereum classic. Who is actually using it? How many ICOs do you remember on ETC?It's pretty much speculative asset. It can be fine to trade because it's volatile enough but as long term hold it's bad idea in my opinion.

This is a tricky question. Both projects are good. Though etc is older and has been on for longer neo period, neo also has a big and strong community base as its mostly used in the Chinese community. Etc listing on coinbase is a good news for it and etc is a good long term hold.

Yes, I think so. Basically NEO has the potential to grow, but with current market conditions NEO has less potential. ETC has better growth so it is worthy to hold it in the long run.

If i'm at your place, i will definitely choose NEO without any doubt. I always believe in trust and NEO has more trust in market as compare to ETC. Even i didn't hear ETC many times (very rare). NEO has the potential and strong future without any doubt!

For me I will go for NEO because NEO already some app been hosted on the network and this shows they already something that is already working, but ETC i can't think of any app that is already hosted on the network, if there is anyone, someone should tell me.

Hi, everybody. A good question, and most importantly, it is very relevant today. In my opinion, both these Ethereum and Neo coins are very well suited for investing in them on a long term basis. Both have huge potential.

The two coins are good for holding and if i have money to invest then i will divide the investment into two and invest in two of them but if i only have one choice to make then I will go for NEO, because it already some app's been deployed on the network.

Coinbase is adding new coins from time to time, when they accept it that is a positive thing for the coin and all the supporters of that coin, things are going good and they got recognized by one of the biggest crypto services. Its also good for all people who wish to buy cryptocurrencies trough coinbase, now they have one more option. I think coinbase will add more coins as time passing, why not NEO to not be added there too? Solid project, with many supporters, much younger than ETH, and maybe with time and when grow enough NEO will be added on coinbase too.
I wouldn`t choose between NEO and ETH, both great platforms, they have huge potential. Diversify and buy them both, I have both, why not everyone else to have both when its perfect time for buying, both dropped a lot

Ethereum classic look has low volatility than NEO, and Coinbase prefer to listed that coin than others. The price of NEO been dump hard  and this mean this coin does not have any good fundamental. So between both i prefer to chooce ETC because also the price not so much down, and in bullish trend ETC will going up more.

Both Ethereum and Neo are very good project and would be a very good choice for long-term investment. Despite that i would go for Neo, as it is called Chinese Ethereum and has the potential to attract more Chinese investors.

If I were you, I would choose NEO :). I believe in NEO more than ETC because NEO is supported by ETC and NEO blockchain is also really good and it can be used to develop ICO project like ETH blockchain so I think in the future NEO price will go to the moon very quickly :).

Are you talking about coins that have a really good future, for instance, Ethereum classic is the future of graphics cards mining and NEO  is the future of smart contract and initial coin offering. choosing between 2 coins that have a really great future is really hard. And if I have to choose I will go with Ethereum classic because it does not need any approval to be the future of mining, because it gonna happened anyway once Ethereum switch to POS.

EOS and NEO: they are called Ethereum killers because they are perceived to have a better mousetrap than Ethereum. True, each has its own decentralized blockchain platform that appeal to Dapp developers, but each one has different shortcomings. It is a mistake to try to pick a single winner.  The better approach is to own all three. And with prices at relative rock bottom, now is a good time.

Maybe these two are good to hold, but if I only to choose one maybe I choose NEO to hold for long term, I see NEO in the future it will mooning for sure.

This two coins have their separate networks which would be able to host other project just like Ethereum, and in actual sense ETC is a much correction for ETH with the ERC223 network. Investing in them both is a worthwhile investment and should be encouraged, but comparing them two, I think ETC is a much better position to yield more profit than NEO

It’s a matter of choice and I believe that the both of them are good. I have only been investing in ETC, alongside ETH, XRP and BCH (BTC too as the main favorite) but I have never tried NEO yet and I hope to try it soon cause my friends are saying that it is very good to invest in. However, the reason why I invested in ETC was due to I got when it was divided from ETH, and it is really good also. So it’s a matter of choice, both of them are good.

My preference wil be ethereum cash over the NEO because it is more potential coin than NEO and now it has been added to the cojnbase wallet which can make lot of difference in the prices because it is the kost used exchange of crypto community.

I don't know much about ETC and Neo. I keep PPT, NANO STORM, YOYO. I think they're good coins, but I'm looking at others. I'm interested to read about ETC and Neo here, maybe I should buy them.

I think both of them are good. BTC and NEO both are in the highest list of altcoin. ETC or NEO investment will be good for you. Investing in these two will be a lot more potential for future. For more profit you can hold both.

The best to hold now despite the news is ETH and not NEO and saying base on my own opinion.  Because the ETH is likely to raise very soon since it is often being use more than the way NEO is being usee..  ETH will raise faster more than they way NEO will do.  NEO can just wake up one morning and die

Good question! Both coins are very interesting and promising as an investment. I would advise you to take both coins in your investment portfolio. But I think NEO is more promising altcoin. So NEO I have more than ETC. :)

In my opinion, NEO is better for us to hold long term. NEO is the first crypto to be born in China, it has the same technology and direction as Ethereum so many people call NEO the Chinese Ethereum. In my opinion, NEO will have more potential for holding. The rate currently is around $17.40.but, this coin ever reaches more than $50 as the stable coin price. And I'm sure that next year, this coin can go higher again as the normal price. NEO is also growing to be very popular and some people say it can compete Ethereum. the platform offers the lighter platform with easy, instant, and very affordable transaction.

If comparing in technology, NEO shows advantage at transaction's time, multiple languages, intergation... But, you're a fan of ETC, don't worried when the founder of Ethereum - Vitalik Buterin - have just revealed in future of the next version of Ethereum technology - Ethereum 2.0 and NEO is nothing with ETH. Let's expect it what of things will happen. ;)

If I see from the movement of the price. Neo seems more suitable for short-term trading. Or better suited for daily trading. And Neo is a coin that does have potential, and the future. so I chose ETC to Hodl of on Neo.

The majority of the people in the market are going for NEO. ETC is good, but the popularity of NEO is higher than that of ETC.

Both are better for hold. But for me, it is ETC. As it is reliable and shows a stable growth in the market. Also it is profitable in long term. It is more valuable rather than NEO. But NEO is not also bad. You can hold both for the long term benefit.

Both are good cryptocurreny which have a good potential but I would recommend to hold Ethereum over neo because ETH is the second largest cryptocurrency so far and easier to predict its price and also it is already established and has tons of room for growth.

ETC and Neo are both good projects. IMO, it is better to invest in both coins. For myself, I invest around 70% in Neo and 30% in ETC.

I don't argue that NEO is great project and it is going to be $500. I just don't think that it is better than Ethereum. NEO has great potential, but so does the Ethereum as well.

I try to buy some more for both of them when you compare NEO just have 65.000.00 fix total supply while ETH has 101.591.000. As we all know ETH has very high popularity and demand for ICO's so I prefer keep both of them.

Both ETC an NEW are good for hold. Both of them are top smart contract players. Both of them have almost similar objective but I think ETC is more mature in term of technical sector and adoption.

I find more application of Neo compared to ETC. I don't ever know,how and who can apply ETC protocol.

To date, there are quite a few platforms that offer quite good conditions for the implementation of ico companies. But apparently the etherium and erc20 is the leader among all and will be more in demand at the crypto-currency market.

I personally think NEO is a great coin. Its price is stable and keeps going up. But you should keep in mind that as a Chinese ETH if ICOs are banned in china then it’ll be hard for NEO. On the other hand ETH is also good for long term hold.

Actually, at this stage, I must say ETC is just another unnecessary coin as far as I am concerned and I really would not pay so much attention to it. NEO still do have a better prospect in the long run with its smart contract usage obviously than ETC, and in that case, I would rather prefer to be placing my funds in a long term valuable project than just a fork or clone that happened by accident.

Sorry to the ETC fans. NEO is a very good option, and even though I do not fancy going all in on a single currency and prefer diversifying, but even if you want to diversify, it is better to look for a project you can still rely on its long term benefit and usage.

Even if you want to diversify, you also have to consider the reason why you are investing in any of the coins. I still feel unless ETC developers come up with something substantial to make the ETC become useful, it will at the end just become a normal coin in the space with no serious usage.

I notice that the price of the coin listed in coinbase usually increase by at least 20x or more. And Neo is the closest competitor to ETH IMO. Imagine Neo is just 20% as successful as ETH, the price will be much higher than now.

Honestly, I rather hold NEO than hodl ETC. My reason being that Neo is a Chinese coin and still had enough room for growth. Again, total coin supply favours Neo against ETC.

Both of them are very good coins. But which is better for 2 years later it's really hard to predict from now. Etc is the hard fork of eth and it runs smart contract and EVM on etc chain. And in other hand NEO is a platform based token. Both of them are very good to hold and have a great future. But somehow ETC is listed on conbase for last few months. And it's big now. So hold both and make a ratio of them. Cause Neo also have some really good upcoming project in its blockchain.
