I thought about the unpredictability of bitcoin and its current status and it made me realized that this might drive people away from getting into cryptocurrency. What do you think are the other reasons that will keep people from using bitcoin?

Knowledge and infrastructures.  Scientist have teach monkeys the concept of money on their experiment and it's succeed.  Now, try to tell a scientist about the concept of cryptocurrency, it will not easy.  It will be harder when you try to the peoples in the under development country where internet or even electricity is a luxury.

Because of the thoughts that they might get scammed when they invest on bitcoin. People easily judged something because of bad things about that thing. They only value what is the bad news but dont searching for reliable source. For them to understand and to know what bitcoin capable to do, they must study it first, because studying it will help you to understand and it will help you to succeed on bitcoin.

First thing that comes into mind is the wrong impression on cryptocurrencies especially about Bitcoin. The scam around Bitcoin is what really hinders an ordinary person to engage into cryptocurrency. Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency in general has been used as a medium for scam and theft crimes. Though statistics say that there has been less crime related to Bitcoin before compared to now. Other factors are lack of knowledge about cryptocurrency, misleading fuds, lack of interest and etc... Most of the people is afraid of change. They want to stick to traditional currency and can't apprehend the future that lies into cryptocurrency.

There are many reasons and among them the main one according to me is it is a smart way of business and also it make our life style very smart.

in my opinion, of course they are very interested in the world of cryptocurrency, besides being able to provide a lot of income to all of us, even crypto has many advantages in any form, so everyone will flock to hunt for bitcoin.

first of all what bitcoin is or is not, doesn't affect other cryptocurrencies much. contrary to popular belief if an altcoin were good it would surpass bitcoin regardless of bitcoin being first, king, big,.... or whatever else.

as for the reason you mentioned, things like volatility, unpredictability,... will only drive people away from investing in bitcoin. it has nothing to do with when they decide not to use it. even volatile bitcoin is still a currency and can be used by anyone anywhere. so if someone chose not to do it, they had other reasons.

For me it's just like money and it's also act as investment so it's different with other currency that I've ever known
When most people decide to keep use bitcoin because they have fully understand that cryptocurrency was being build for digital era especially for transaction purpose !

But the people should think about the future they should not stop there carrier here it self they should have some patients

I think there's still a general feeling of hesitation towards decentralization. It involves a completely different paradigm as to how to perceive value and the world in general. Such a change will take decades before everyone thoroughly understand the benefits.

If anything, right now the unpredictability of bitcoin is what's actually getting more people on-board since most are just in for the money nowadays and are hoping to make a quick buck out of bitcoin. Those people are the general users, the ones who care much about profit first, fundamentals second. However, I believe that merchants would be the ones driving adoption up ones they get in on the economy, given that there is still a huge number of people wanting to spend their bitcoins and not just use as an asset. We need more merchants to fill in the blanks of an unbalanced economy that we have, though I know for certain that that wouldn't happen as long as volatility is still present.

I can't think any but the popular that I'm hearing is its expensive for them.

The negative news surrounding some icos and cryptocurrency in general. Also most people are into it because of some few bucks but when does people doesn't get what they need they, others with same motive will not want to dwell into it.

actually to me what will keep people from getting into cryptocurrency  is peoples testimonies. it will energize people.

Security and privacy concerns. Really no different from a lot of things online. Amazon, eBay, and other e-commerce sites went through the same thing 20 years ago.

Cryptoncurrency is a digital currency with lot of advantages which attract more and more people towards it to use it. Cryptocurrency are mainly use for money making purposes. Many people use it as online job. Cryptocurrency price are attractive because of this many investors invest in it. Cryptocurrency decentralised nature also attract many people to use it. And its blockchain technology which help people to experience an innovative money transaction facility.

I think that nothing can prevent me from getting in crypto and to my mind, if you want to achieve success, you should do your best and start investing in btc or ether for the long-term hold

First and the most important think is that drive peoples attention towards crypto is curiosity because it is new and more profitable than any other investment.

Cryptocurrency is very technological  subject and newbie coming into it will be prevented from the complex terminologies, but taken the pain to learn will ease many people from lack knowledge of it use. Other things that can prevent people from crypto is the risk level associated to it.

I do not think that is going to be enough, most people have joined the stock market already which means that people are willing to accept risk when it comes to their investments, the biggest barrier is the change in the way they understand money, people are too used to be protected by the government, people make all kind of mistakes with their credit cards and they recover that money thanks to the protection from a centralized entity but in this market if you lose your money you are on your own and you will never see that money back, so we will require a change in the culture about how to protect our money.

When people hear the good behaviour of bitcoin ,they will be more than willing to join. Then people had already invested much on stock. They will soon realised bitcoin is value than stock

Lack of knowledge about bitcoin that prevents people from buying bitcoin. Lack of knowledge will make people doubt and also fear because of negative news about bitcoin.

The tendency of earn big profit and also the advantages that they can get only in crypto getting them into crypto.

The adoption of major companies and merchants is one of the factors that can make more people be interested in using crypto. Promotion of a certain celebrity that has a very good reputation to the public will also help in making other people invest in crypto. It really doesn't matter if the values of crypto is very volatile as long as there's someone popular or charismatic that can influence new investors to come into crypto space.

There are not many reasons, the finishing politics of the states, the damage of the investors ... I do not see anything else.
More bitcoin is a system that attracts itself.

Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is fast becoming known globally.. The major reason that might affect people from getting into it might be due to lack of substantial knowledge on them.. If awareness is created with the potential benefits you stand to get is passed across, then people will definitely get into it

Knowledge is power and technology is key. The technology been offered by Blockchain is second to none and it has a very good use case or products in the real world. Thus more and more people will keep coming into the Cryptocurrency.

Huge downfall definitely scared people away, but once we turn to a huge bull run again everybody will jump back in. Current state with high volatility is great for everyone who likes to trade.

Just like other internet related businesses and opportunities, the major fear and discouragement will be lack of knowledge and awareness of the opportunities that lay around trading cryptocurrency, incorporating it into our daily use for our economy. I feel that government should teach cryptocurrency in schools because cryptocurrency can turn out to become the future money and it could boost the economy of any nation that adopt its use. This is the 21st century for crying out loud, there are a lot of things that can come up and shouldn't be neglect.

Among the main reasons named in this thread by others are price unpredictability, high volatility, fear of scam, bearish market and decentralization. I would like to mention another thing which is not a feature of bitcoin, but rather a trait that is very common for humans. I am talking about being conservative. People don't want to deal with cryptos simply because they somehow managed without them thus far and accepting new important things into their life seems not to be worth the risks. Old people are especially good at applealing to history of human practices and of their own life, which brought them this far and is thus proven to be safe. Who knows what these lines of letters and numbers not even written on paper actually mean and whether it is all safe, right? I'd say wrong, but watching the famous interview with SEC chairman I can see the same thing. It is obvious he doesn't bother to get to know cryptos or differences between them. He keeps repeating that this company has been managing securities for a long time, knows how to do that well and is not going to adjust to new things coming about.

Most of the people run towards crypto because it is now the best source of investment and also it is totally out of the control of government.

to make someone stay motivated and motivated by crypto I think it's gone, the problem is that most people always see in a short sight or short range and ignore in the long run so it will be difficult to persuade them

The volatility is high in crypto currencies which makes difficult for many to enter the crypto currency market as no one will be able to predict the crypto currency market situation and the thought of losing money when they invest in the crypto currencies and the crypto currency market plunges in the early stages of bitcoins the price was affordable for people to buy bitcoins but the price of bitcoins is coming around $ 7000 USD which is a pretty good amount and if some one invest in it he should be looking for long term investment as there is chances for the price of bitcoins to go up but cannot predict how long it will take to start the huge rally in the crypto currency market.

reasons I often find and make other people reluctant to use cryptocurrency, because they think crypto is a field that is easily passed by many bad people.

I think first of all this is the ambiguous reaction of the governments of different countries and ambiguous news and forecasts. All this inspires fear in people.

There are a lot of reasons behind this and some of them are the curiosity , the greed to better profit and also the dream to become rich within a short time.

The main factor that keep people from getting into cryptocurrency is the risk factor.People find it risky because Bitcoin's price is not steady.Many fluctuations are seen in it's price.So they always feel it risky to invest.

In my opinion cryptocurrency is popular now that's why many people are interested and using it, Cryptocurrency is being built for the digital era especially for transaction purposes but because of bitcoin many people are become rich and change their life.

yes, I also think like that, uncertainty about bitcoin attracts people's attention to gambling on bitcoin but it can also pump bitcoin, even though I don't like gambling but with the thinking of people like that, automatically the price of bitcoin will be pumped and can benefit other bitcoin holders

Keeping bitcoin have good result because once the price pump you can gain more profit. Other people not believing to cryptocurrency because they are  scared to lost their money more. But better if everyone wil hold or keep their coins to earn again.

I think there are many factors one must consider when they want to enter the crypto market, the risk of price fluctuations being an attraction that must also be considered. That is why people must study first before entering the market.

   For me it is just to earn money and to have investment online through digital currency. People juat being wise in grabbing the opportunity to earn while it there is still a time. And if you engage i  bitcoin and other cryptocurrency you are just not earning financially but also gaining knowledge about differents aspect of digital currency.

I think it is knowledge about cryptocurrency. Also, keep in mind bitcoin still mostly used of people who are familiar with computer science. When bitcoin logo will appear everywhere, together with Visa and MasterCard logo it will change.

I think that people are also hampered by the use of bad credit news and negative reviews of those people who lost money due to their illiteracy.

I think it is on the future value and as an investment since the value based on the historical event is increasing; thus this is favorable as a future investment.

However, because bitcoin has been used in illegal transactions, its goal has not been properly extinguished and therefore, it is not really the best way on our society.

The thought of being scammed and the risk are the factors that keeping some people getting involved into cryptocurrency. It is risky for them since the market is highly volatile which could result to a loss. Also, ICO's are a bit scary because a lot of them are scams.

Well, you are certainly right about the predictability being one of the main reasons. Another may be that if it isn't being used by the mainstream public, like celebrities, entertainment, media, etc, people won't tend to care much for it. It wouldn't be until national attention is brought to it, that it will ever be freely accepted.
    Then again, there are those who are technically illiterate, who may never hope to use such sophisticated technology, at least until a "User Friendly" version becomes the standard. Though it may seem simple enough to understand crypto by the members within this community, luddites on the other hand, will always stray away from innovation. There will always be People who simple may not trust the technology.

If bitcoin would be easy for them to understand then it will not be a problem. I think the reason if people or even someone ever stick to a technology or a thing is if they know how it works and the idea behind it.

It seems to me that the reasons why people keep on using bitcoin was you can earn on your own, All of us can be bitcoinist if we want to, even if you are a house wife, husband, students or any age who had you are welcome to earn crypto. People are also excited in what the maxinum price could bitcoin possible reach. Some people are also wants to find and seek on the history, how,when and why is the bitcoin create.

I think the most deterministic factor keeping people away from entering crypto is the mentality and fear that its a scam combined with the belief that its just a passing trend.

The only thing i see keeping people from getting into cryptocurrency is fear of the unknown, plus the negativity that people spread.

Some people do not really like to take risks and something like bitcoin is not really for them, and I understand them but at the same time they are missing in what it could be the greatest opportunity of their lifetime, this is similar to miss the dot com bubble except that it is way worse since it is very likely that bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are going to be way bigger than that.

When you need to make money, you need to make risk. Without taking any risk it is impossible to profit big through the same. Some easily get to know about the negative things that took place using bitcoin. There were several factors, and one who analyze himself and get into it will easily overcome the risk with bitcoin and succeeds.

People don't like to take risks with their savings. For some, if it isn't old then its not trustworthy. Some people don't like technology at all, so they won't even use activate mobile/internet banking, forget about investing in crypto and ultimately the volatility and unpredictability are the biggest reasons people don't get into crypto easily.

The frequent change in the market price of cryptocurrency  is one of the major factors that either keep people off or in getting into cryptocurrency. Also the complex nature of  some crypto exchange site and the issue of kyc associated with them.

some of my friends are worried and stay away from crypto because their status has not yet passed in my country which can raise the issue that crypto is a fraud. they are worried because there is a lot of stimulation in my country which states that crypto is negative, and my friends believe that because the media makes the explanation more logical.

bitcoin done many things in many people . i mean people have their benefits and advantage. so this people would got happy and they want to know the bitcoin by their friends and relatives so that the bitcoin are keep getting people by spreading its benefits and advantage. it is a good time to bitcoin because more people coming in this industry.

I agree.Some people cannot adjust anymore from the fluctuations that is happening all the time making the market price more down.They are thinking this condition will make them lose even more so they keep theirselves off from cryptocurrency.Aside from that,negative news are spread everywhere making them believe that cryptocurrency will no longer succeed in the long run.

Scalability and merchant adoption.


You have to try really hard to spend your bitcoins still.

We haven't yet created the appropriate marketplaces. You can't easily buy gasoline with bitcoin or food or most essentials.

Until we solve those, mass adoption just won't happen.

They keep using and holding bitcoin because just like me, I'm still hoping that its price will improve and recover from it's condition right now. Even though most of the users are looking now for alternative coins they are still people who are patiently waiting on bitcoin raising and I hope it will be happen sooner or later, just don't lose.

some people are worried when they hear big risks that don't even happen, they are afraid of losing money. I once explained to my friends about bitcoin and got a bad experience and rejection because they thought bitocin was a fraud, so I prefer to be quiet and enjoy my bitcoin money.

Unawareness of what bitcoin is all about. It’s hard to join into something you really don’t understand. Many don’t get into cryptocurrency because also of negative issues that they heard or watched without investigating or studying about cryptocurrency. Plus people don’t want to face the high risks they may undergo through bitcoin because they don’t want to face loss in what they might invest.

doubts and uncertainties about bitcoin and cryptocurrency will push someone away from both and this will become evident when there are third parties who give negative news on bitcoin which is actually just a negative issue and vice versa they will change direction when someone introduces bitcoin well and teach him how he knows bitcoin

Things I can think of right now is:
the fear of losing money on something not guaranteed, especially when the market is going down like this.
Then there is also worries about the government who do not allow citizens to trade.
The last thing could be taxes. Taxes are a lot in many countries.

As much as we have good and genuine project developers and some exchanges, scammers do exist here too. Having to invest in projects and it scams or the project just went dead is something that could chase off new inexperience investors. This is why it's important people start their investment portfolio with the bitcoin.

You're wrong on this part, it will never push people away from getting into cryptocurrency.
Knowing on how many people are interested to get into crypto but are lack of knowledge and budget as well.

I find it hard to believe the people that says they are interested in getting into crypto but never do their research. It's like they are just announcing that same phrase in the room over and over again and hoping that God will send an angel for him and educate him about crypto. People always want to know things but would set it aside until they meet someone who knows a lot about it. Why bug people when you can do your own research, right? After all, an individual wouldn't have the time to educate you about something fully. There will be things that you're going to learn only when you do your research. You wouldn't always be welcomed with open arms whenever you ask people about crypto, you know, unless you're paying them.

Budget? Since when did you need money in order to learn about crypto. I don't remember having to pay in order to access bitcoin related websites. I don't remember paying someone so that Google will include bitcoin in my search results. I'd say it's just people and their poor excuses. You can learn things if you truly wanted to. The era of spoonfeeding information to people has already passed. Everyone has to do their part in order to learn.

Is that not a good thing, though? Once the government have thought of a way of how they can barge in the cryptocurrency world, then there will be laws about it and the tax when cashing out might even became ridiculous. Let's actually take advantage of this scenario. It's better to have no regulation and be in the gray area rather than have bitcoin as a legal thing but have the government knowing all about your crypto activities.

A lot of things can get people in Cryptocurrency...i met a whale today in my local area that $300000 whot of cryptocurrency in his wallet and I ask him to tell me the journey so far....he said he got it from bounty and airdrop; I ask him how long has he been doing it he said 2and half years ago.....no who will hear this that won't like to get him or her self involved  in cryptocurrency.... I think people start investing a lot in cryptocurrency. Many altcoins have started with projects that are easier to understand and the use of altcoins. but bitcoin is still an advantage to invest, the influence of bitcoin is huge on altcoins.

People are afraid to work with crypto currency only because of illiteracy and belief in negative feedback from people.

Obviously this is a very promising investment, it's just that people buy and sell it immediately, afraid of losses. for me selling and holding it for the long term is the wisest choice.

That's why the community of the cryptocurrencies are so important to be able to grow the market. This what we called community where we are belong are the reason why even the market value keep on degrading it is still worth it to invest in crypto because it has still the hope that it would get better in future.

The other factors that might be the reason why people keep from using bitcoin are: first, the wrong mindset and impression regarding the bitcoin or other coins. They have this mindset that it is only a scam and fraud. You can't achieve something in here. Another one is the concepts, mechanics, and system of it. People have a hard time understanding it so they can easily give up analyzing every detail of it. Lastly, the unpredictable and uncertainty of the outcome of ypur investment.

not because of that, the work of that person must be different and not necessarily the same. people don't want to work with crypto currency because they don't know what crypto currency is and the benefits of crypto money for life. if people know that I'm sure people will definitely work with the crypto currency.

Bitcoin is still volatile and has not been accepted by the government, even if it is illegal. That is the problem that people do not participate in Bitcoin. People do not feel it is safe enough for them to invest money. They are afraid it can cause their property values to decrease significantly.

People only need a little form of motivation to keep using cryptocurrency. They need an assurance that the government will not just come one day and put an end to all manner of crypto related activities in their country. This will keep getting them into crypto.

Apparently our standart fiat money that we use on the daily basis is also used for various illegal activities and no one ever says that usd is a scam.

Who says anything about the currency currently being replaced by cryptocurrency / digital money? He can live side by side with fiat. Gradually, this world opens our eyes to the reality of cryptocurrency so that time will come, we will only embrace the true purpose and identity of crytoworld, - and each individual will be a part of it. Our technology really evolves into something that you never expected and it is not impossible that it will also occur in cryptoworld. Cryptocurrency is not part of the past but it will be part of our future that will make a big difference in this world.

Yes it is, the unpredictability of the crypto market scares most people. But, in my view, the main reason why people are frightened by the crypto market and the BTC is that they just do not understand what this is about. People can not see the future in this technology. But sooner or later they will have to accept it.

I respect your views, however, I am not sure if putting the status of the market of bitcoin on the community is right. Do you mind explaining how bitcoin market will improve if people leaves the crypto world?

I agree. Ignorance or at least naivety is probably the biggest factor that puts most people off. Many people seem to think it's too geeky or beyond their reach because it seems too technical for them, but it's really not at all. It may seem like that especially with a lot of the technical language and big words people use (decentralized and blockchain etc), but it's quite simple to use if you don't scare yourself off with all the buzzwords or by trying to look 'under the hood' to see hot it works behind the scenes which isn't needed for the average user. I think a lot of people are very weary of 'get rich quick' scams and they unfortunately lump bitcoin into that because of how it's often sold to them by fanatics which doesn't help. If you encounter someone who's skeptical of bitcoin or believes all the negativity just explain it to them in laymans terms and why you think its great and let them make up their own mind. We can't convince everyone to get on board but at least we can try fix some of the misconceptions about it.

Also the people who invested, then panic sell and go crying blaming Bitcoin for everything that happened when it is just a tool - It can be used for good or for bad like anything else. I believe this is a really big reason, which improved the fear people have of losing everything because of it.

When in fact, it's as risky as any other investment only more volatile for now.

Although it is unpredictable still people are using it as they find opportunity here rather than having a strict boss in a company, for me I would rather work hard here too and invest rather than in real life in investing in bank which will not even give you a couple of dollars as a return but they will just give you cents of what you have invested.

Lots of things actually would drive people away further from Cryptocurrency than to it. You will have to reason with them in regards to price fluctuations, to the uninitiated, it is really scary as that does not draw them to it.  They would always be follow through news, hoping for something better to be read, they will always be pushed back by the price rising and falling. Also, the media, responsible for informing the populace about events unfolding are not helping in painting a clear picture of cryptocurrency. All they see their is scam and ponzi scheme. Added to that is now the increasing failed or scam parading as ICO. The people get to read and see these things, and they in turn inform the people about what is going on. 

I`m thinking that the famous volatility or unstability of Bitcoin would be the first and most distractive thing about Bitcoin which would keep the most part of newcomers away from it.

another thing thay could scare people away from using bitcoin is negative publicity about bitcoin and negetive propaganda. we need to promote and brand bitcoin positively to attract the attention of the populace.

But I think the volatility which you are talking about has attracted many people to enter cryptocurrencies market. As we all know cryptocurrencies has not become a common currency yet and the reason many people are involved in cryptocurrencies is this volatility.

I think the increasing image of scam about crypto is what will prevent may people from investing into the market. If people are too scared to lose their funds obviously, many will not venture investing into the market.

Some people invest in Bitcoin with a hope of making quick money, that's not how it works. Crypto market is a growing market and less than 20 % of world population is aware and willing to invest in it. Over the period of time, the user base will grow so as the investment. Slow and gradual growth.

I think the reason that will keep people from getting into cryptocurrency is the risky and the volatile of the price in the market. Some people are afraid to invest because they are afraid to take the risk and they are afraid that they will might not earn big. But if they tried it they will see the result on there own.

the media is manipulating people in any way they want because so many people don`t have an idea about btc and don`t do research about it so whenever someone says something good or bad they tend to believe and this will keep the uncertainity high and don`t let people adopt easily.

I think that it is also because people are already used to using fiat currency that they simply refuse to use and learn something new. Well i think opposite people might think this the best chance to invest in something new and for a big profit. I know people might afraid to invest in here and i do think smart people will do invest in here, the proof is many big company start to enter cryptocurrency world even microsoft and NYSE. I think cryptocurrency will success in future, right now its only early stages like a young market stock.

I agree with you. When you don't have knowledge about bitcoin it will be hard for you to trust it, especially to deal with the reality of risk in bitcoin, but when you really want to invest in bitcoin you should study it first all about crypto before invest your money.

i think cryptocurrency can have a mass adoption by widening the usage of cryptocurrency in the society.

The perception that cryptocurrency is only for the techies. That it’s a scam or a Ponzi Scheme. And the lack of recognition and protection from the government if they ever get victimized. Me thinks these people are just too lazy to adapt and embrace an innovation.
