my advice, don't invest ico for the long term, because the price of the ico coin won't rise higher like bitcoin or etherum. to invest long term, ico is pretty good.

If you are a good researcher then first check the ICO team and market value and the expert opinion and their ranking in the ICO bench and then investment through forum is also a good way and if you have some savings then investment in ICO is good way of making money and now the holding is strategy i am following.

If you want to invest in an ICO make sure first if the team composition is really that legit or will really deliver good development on the project. That might be enough but you should DYOR on every aspect of its legitimacy.

I never invest in ICOs.My advice for the newbies is to never invest in any ICO,ever.
They could put some coins into buying ICO tokens, but they should never expect any profit from it.
Just think about ICOs like they are crowdfunding projects, not actual digital "stocks".People donate for crowdfunding projects, because they like the consept/idea,not because they want to make profits.
I don't know about any profitable ICOs so far.

Team is always my first and major priority when I am about to invest in an ICO. Usually, I check their past history and experiences as well as achievements, see if it is actually something solid enough to be able to achieve their objective in the current project.

Secondly, MVP (minimum Viable Product) is one other thing I do not joke with. If it is not available, then sorry, I cannot invest in empty promises. Any team ready to work would have been able to work on something at least to some extent and show how ready and serious they are to getting things done.

Every other technical details about the project, the target market, roadmap, whitepaper, the possibility of getting to see if there would be a demand for it in the long run comes last.

From my short experience would suggest to do the following.

First and big thing is that we have new ICO every day, with every single one of them promising huge returns and useful perks for potential investors, but before you get carried away and start sending your hard earned money or some crypto to some of the ICOs, rkeep in mind that most of those projects will inevitably fail or will be a scam.

So what is needed for some ICO. First they will have a website and a white paper, containing as much information about the project and its goals as possible. Those will describe the team and its relevant experience, the idea and the roadmap of its execution, approximate goals and means of reaching them, and so on. So is this maybe worth the risk, chances are 50-50. With this there is that bad side how to see or spot a potencial scam.

So far like in real life there need to be good research about it for start start from team involved in this ICO. Use any type of search for checking information about team. If someone is in team anonymous, this usually represent first sign that project can be scam. Check if the developing team have some social media. See if they have some media online for example this forum is perfect place to start research for every ICO project.
Then read whitepaper of project, search if necessary some information if project will be escrow or not (this is also one of the good factors for potential investment cuz you know that funds you invest can be back). Also most of good and not scam project so far that i saw had open source for code, if code is not open source this may be also another clue that ICO can be scan at the end.

In the end one this must be done for every single ICO and that is "Research". Without this and if you play on blind then most likelly you will lose your investment.

1. Have you invested or are you thinking of investing in an ICO?

Yes. Invested on quite a few already. And I still willing to invest.

2. By what means of communication did you hear about the last ICOs you remember?

a) Forum

Definitely, I follow everything on forums.

2. 3/4/5 Questions

I look at the team behind. DYOR (Do Your Own Research) is our best weapon to filter out scammy ICO's out there. Besides, you can go to (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0) - Scam Accusations before investing. There are a lot of members who devoted their time in finding those scammers. That's why for me this is the best source before investing your hard earn money.

Hope this helps.

Always research an ICO before investing and don't forget to invest your funds in the amount of your funds that are ready to disappear (meaning do not use important money and money that you really need).

analizing ico on their whitepaper is very important for us to find best projects.if we know their roadmap detaily, we could take best decision in amount we accept to lose.

A quick suggestion please!

You can simply just create a Google doc and then put this questions up so you can easily accrue your data at the end of it all and also get to analyze easily which I believe is going to take some time getting that done here. If you do not know how to create Google form, it is easy and you can easily get guideline on Google search.

With respect to ICOs, I have invested in quite a number of them and most of the time I get my lead from investment and business sites. To invest in an ICO, I consider the team first before anything, so as not to end up wasting my time on other details; I also consider the business idea, the availability of a product and sometimes the support I feel it is getting.

History of the team most especially is one thing I do not joke with when looking into an ICO. I hope that helps.

Yeah investing in ICO is high risk and you need to research first all the possible information that available from the team behind those projects. Follow them to social media site to know their plans and watch their videos. No easy money in crypto and you need to thoroughly understand the purpose of their project and the impact to us.

Look for a good ICO first because it is very necessary to find the right ICO for us. Because it could be affected by a scam because there are many ICOs that cheat many people.

Without a good team you are just going to be wasting your money. It is one thing to have a great idea and it is another thing to be able to execute such idea perfectly well. This is one major criterion I always look out for when investing in ICOs. If the team past experience and their diligence to getting work done is satisfactory, then the next thing I move on to is the product.

A viable product or at least a proof of concept should be something a team should already have when coming into the scene, which shows their enthusiasm to work. I am not a fan of promises, no matter how fantastic the idea sounds.

It's really nice that some people are doing academic research on such topics as ICOs.
1. I never invested in any ICOs but I am working for one now and I believe that more nice ICOs will be appearing with time and perhaps I'll invest in some of them later.
2. I can't recall the last one, but a) and c) (Twitter) seem to be the best choices to me.
3. f, d, a, b, c, e. I'd also add the real product of the company and token's usage as my main factors. I don't trust ICOs created by brand new companies that are only starting their business. And I also don't like these ICOs that are related to creation of new exchanges or blockchain platforms for whatever reasons. I think that a token should be needed as a representation of some product or as means to pay for it.
4. I look at all of the meintioned above while evaluating ICOs, but the whitepaper is the most important thing for me. Promotional video is mainly good to analyze the marketing strength (and thus potential popularity) of an ICO. And you should add a roadmap to this list, since this is also one of the main things people look at to see how clear is the team's vision of their project.

Stay away from ICOs. Most of them are scams and some are below their ICO price shortly after they listed on exchanges. We are at bear market that make the odd for a successful ICOs are a lot worse.

I have invested in ICO's and if I see one I like I may invest one in the future as well.

Mainly bitcointalk, I do not invest into anything I do not read on here, as long as it is here and has a topic with bunch of pages I can check what other people talked about the ICO and react accordingly. First of all it must have a good idea, secondly the support must be important and thirdly the price must be reasonable. Rest is just details. Definitely the team and the idea, those are the most important aspects of it. History of the team.

I'm looking for ico projects on proven sites and ask experienced hunters. The main thing in the project can be a team, how many have already collected funds for the time of call in the project, as presented and what offers-which product or service. I carefully fetch white paper. ;)

Investing in an ico will have lot of risk, before investing just go through the project details, white paper, road map, team members. Because nowadays many scam ico's are coming be careful before investing in an ico.
I agree.Only few of the ICOs today are just the real ones who give us good bounty payments and most of them are already scam.So it might be too risky especially for newbies to invest in an  ICO.

Investing in an ico is possible through different forms of payment modes from debit cards to cryptocurrencies. With most ico's btc and Eth were the accepted payments. Also, you'll receive the tokens only after the ICO, so should not get into panic once after sending payment for the tokens.

Find out everything you can about the team, especially the development team and the advisory board. Search each team member for relevant experience. Use Google to find out their profiles and visit their Linkedin profile. It is highly recommended that you read the message carefully in the project announcement thread (ANN) on BitcoinTalk.org. Evaluate the project phase, find this information usually on the main page of the project website. Evaluate the whitepaper, Don't hesitate to read it, or at least most of it, because it contains all the important information about the upcoming project and ICO.

Yes, there are more risk for buying coins at an ICO than to buy coin which are already in the exchanges because coin in exchanges are already secure. But what is more advantage of buying coins at the ICO? I think because its more low value than if its already listed in the exchanges and with that its obvious that there are great profit if we buy coins during ICO just set in mind that everything in crypto currency is like gambling that no assurance but still opportunity to be profitable is having more percentage.

This topic has been discussed how many times in the forum, but still, I always heard the word risk in investing in ICO and some other say that avoid investing they are probably scam. No, that is not true even there are a bunch of projects now emerging but still, there are some other having a potential for investing. Yes, OP was right, checking all documents and team that they had before planning to invest. You can ride the risk if you know how to research before engaging in their project and invest.

i hope this helps :

Whatever you have written here is all true and yes I look for almost everything that you have mentioned here. Most of the time its the forum who gives me more info about it. Its the simple way to know more abut it because many ICO's will publish their bounties here, signature campaigns and all the other ways of publishing . This mostly gives me lot of info about it and over the time you can also keep on reading many updates in the ANN thread. This is the place where all real people are discussing about the projects and thus giving us info about recent updates. Also I dont really look for team but I look for how effectively they are communicating with us over the telegram etc. Their promotional offers should be attractive and upto the mark then we can understand about it more.

Initial coin offering is becoming very stressful business these days. Stressful ? Well, ICO may look best investment of all time at the first time. However, as you start investing your money into ICO you will realise that you have jumped into the sinking boat which have no lifeboat at all. The more you go into it the more you will see how difficult it is to manage your investment into it. You will first come to know that when they will sit the coin over the exchanger is not mentioned and when you ask them then they will keep reasoning you about it. If after hard time has passed and the coin has got listed then you will realise that the price of coin is very very less as compared to what it was at the time of your purchase. Thus, things go wrong and doesnt come as expected.

Before investing in any ICO you have to check everything about ICO’S legitimacy, for that you have to deeply study the project, check social media record of that project which will show you popularity of the project.

After this if you are satisfied with that project then you can invest in project.

Yeah I think so since we barely to see successful icos recently and it just made the community more awful as obviously it just die eventually.

Honestly, I'm staying away from icos as much as I could and if I really want the token badly, I just wait for it to get listed and buy from those dumpers.

I always look at the product, if it's something new that can really have a real usage in the community and definitely not just an app. The team and social media page is always a must look.

I agree and disagree with the people calling icos scams... Right now we are in a bear market and people do not trust icos because nobody is regulating icos. If you get scammed, you can do nothing. But soon with ico 2.0 these scams will be a thing of the past and investing in icos will become safe. At that point, in half a year to a year when we finally have regulations, thats when icos will be HUGE again. Right now only invest if the project looks very legit and very promising.

My answers would be
1.   Yes, I have invested many times in ICO. Social, Eidoo, Insurepal are a few out of them.
2.   I mainly get to know about ICOs from forum.
3.   How much has already been invested, team, and then price and support. Obviously dont forget the most important thing the core fundamentals of the project and how much utility will it provide in everday life.
4.   I look at the whitepaper and history of the team and investors.

BUT I would give a great disclaimer to you that in this bear run nearly all the new ICOs are going rekt beware before investing.

If you are a good researcher then first check the ICO team and market value and the expert opinion and their ranking in the ICO bench and then investment through forum is also a good way and if you have some savings then investment in ICO is good way of making money and now the holding is strategy i am following.
Find out everything related to the team, especially the development team and the advisory board. Look for each team member to get relevant experience. Pay attention to the distribution phase of the token. Some new projects release their tokens a few hours after the ICO ends. Some projects need to develop a beta version before sending tokens.

Even if you have good experinece in investing on ICOs before, even if you got the information of the ICO you are going to invest now from a reputed community, even if they have perfect whitepaper and roadmap and the team members still there is no guarantee that we can make money from these investment so never invest more money that affordable for you to.
yes, all types of ICO have differences, even a lot of differences in that. team, strategy, and much more. maybe you can choose a good project, but we don't know whether it will work or not. investing in ICO is very easy, you just need to follow the instructions listed on the site

right, usually listed on the front page if we want to invest, or you can find it on a token sale. of course there will be instructions on how to participate in that ico. but my advice is to study ico carefully, and do not be tempted by bonus offered

It is nice to see that you put Team #1 when doing research.
For me, the team always matter the most because it is all what really build and shape the project.

The think is that finding the team members information is pretty hard nowadays. Most of the project owners still try to keep their information private. They may fake their name by using nick name or dont have any information at all.

More projects in the ICO. So choose the best project then invest. But before join and invest. Lean the project rules and regulations. Then plan to work and invest. More campaign in the ICO project. So read all campaign rules and white sheet is important to the project. So white sheet not in the project don't invite. Project information in the white sheet. So check then invest in the project. ICO day by day release the project. So its good opportunity to investors in the best project token.

It is a reasonable thing to be ready to ask a whole lot of questions when it comes to investing in an ICO from a team and you certainly cannot ask those questions if you are not able to get a good understanding of the project itself. New projects are popping out every day, so there is certainly the need to be able to filter out all that is necessary to be able to choose the right one. Viable product is one way to start, and then the team and then what the whole vision of the team is certainly like.

all types of ICO have differences, even a lot of differences in that. team, strategy, and much more. maybe you can choose a good project, but we don't know whether it will work or not. investing in ICO is very easy, you just need to follow the instructions listed on the site
Investing in ICO is not easy and at the same time it is easy. It is not easy in the sense that you have to understand all the necessary things about the project before even investing and that usually take some time, and looking at the fact that ICOs are coming up every day, that even makes it very hard not to waste your time on the wrong project. This is one reason why I usually take a look at the team and their past achievements, correlate it with the present project, see if they can deliver, then from there, see if it is a product worth investing or not.

Question Nō. 1– yes I have been investing in ICO for a long time (three years or so)
Question Nō. 2– I’ve heard of ICO through several means and that includes Forum (bitcointalk.org), Team, Facebook (especially cryptocurrency groups), and blogs.
Question Nō. 3– for this one I check everything and that includes the Team, Market, how much invested,  support but except the price. To me the price is nothing, all I’m interested is finding a good ICO to invest my money and that’s all.
Question Nō. 4– I look up the history of the team and their site. For me that’s the most important.

Basically you are saying that we should be hitting every social media outlet that is available in the internet, isn't it!! To be frank we should be looking for the legit sources only and that too better be limited. This is because, when you go for many sources then it may become little confusing at sometimes as information from different sources would be different and there will always be positive and negative info that will be coming up front. This could create chaos in decision making all the time. Apart from that, the less sources but legit one can give more trusted info while selecting the ICO's.

Before answering the questions I will say that this is a very good idea, despite the numerous bad reviews of some participants - the main thing is to determine the choice of the ico project.
1. Yes
2.
a) Forum
b) Youtube
c) Blogs
i) Investment and business sites.
3.
b) The team
c) The market in which ICO will operate
d) How much has already been invested
e) Price
f) Support (investors and partners)
4.
a) Promotional video
b) Whitepapper
c) Website
d) History of the team and investors
e) Presentations

If you are going to invest - it's important to have a lot of parameters, you can not be guided by one. It is better if you have the opportunity to meet and ask questions. Over time, experience in choosing projects will start to appear, it will help you. My signature is in this project.

First of all you have to do a very deep research on the ICO you would like to invest. Indeed many of them are scam or fake projects. Once you have done your research you can decide to suscribe on their whitelist and start to buy some tokens once their token sale is open.

my advice, don't invest ico for the long term, because the price of the ico coin won't rise higher like bitcoin or etherum. to invest long term, ico is pretty good.

There are a few promising projects out there which can be considered for long-term investment. I am talking about projects such as Traxia and Mozo. They have good set of developers and promoters, and their future plans are well defined.

Investing in requires capital and skills. Why I said that capotal and skills? Because these two factors will give you a profit in ICO. You cannot invest without your capital and you cannot find a good ICO once you don't have knowledge and skills. But as of now, you must not trust in ICO, better to choose trading coins than ICO.

So I will be more careful in choosing ICO for investment. I am looking for this forum, because here very complete, there are many ICOs and can be used as an investment. I suggest you should invest in good and have potential ICO's which bring more profit to the investors. Sometime you can earn income in participating in ICO project but sometime you will earn nothing. I do not participate in any kind of ICO's but I promote ICO project by joining in their bounty campaign.

Yes it is very simple, so every ICO project is underway, we can visit the website, and read the ICO project first, so if we are interested, we can buy it there, because there is a link to buy the Token. actually it's very easy to buy ICO.

Simplest approach is checking the community behind it. If you see thousands of people lined up waiting for the ICO to end so they can get their tokens already than you know you are looking at an ICO that is really getting the attention of investors. This doesn't mean they are good or they are not scammers, this basically tells us nothing else than just people are interested in the project and that's all.

However, considering the markets and how they work if a coin has a lot of interest that means the price could go up and up for a long time until interest reaches to a point where it can't take the price any higher. Hence I would say the most important thing to look for on a new ICO is the interest level people have, check the forums for topics, check reddit, check news media and so forth and see how much attention they are getting.

To invest in Ico, the first is that we must understand very well about Cryptocurrency. Do not let us join in with our friends who already understand well, while we do not know anything. My advice is that if someone is new to Cryptocurrency, you should first learn about ICO and Cryptocurrency. And if I personally, prefer to buy coins that have entered the market instead of investing in Ico, because of my experience. I always failed in Ico's investment, maybe because of my lack of knowledge about Cryptocurrency, so I couldn't understand where Ico was good.

To invest in an ico user has got lots and lots of access. Most of the ico's were available for ethereum and bitcoin. Also there will be minimum amount for investment, below which it is possible only on listed exchanges which is very rare to find. Another thing, majority of the ico's request for KYC.

I am very delighted to see people taking up project research topics in cryptocurrency. The interest is indeed building up and we might continue to see a more of this into the future.

This should be done when you are investing in any ICO, you should really study the project before you invest. Its too risky now to invest on ICO because of many failed projects so if you do not do your part for sure you will end up on a project that has no future. In every ICO there’s a guidelines on how to invest, try to look for it.

To invest in an ico user has got lots and lots of access. Most of the ico's were available for ethereum and bitcoin. Also there will be minimum amount for investment, below which it is possible only on listed exchanges which is very rare to find. Another thing, majority of the ico's request for KYC.
well, the best way is to find information about the project, and read all the rules before investing, and when you don't understand something, you can ask it on the telegram. I am sure, the admin will respond quickly, especially for investors.

The easiest way to invest in an ICO is by just visiting in their website and create your account wait until listed in whitelist. Participating or investing in ICO you need to submit KYC so they will approved you to buy their tokens.

Investing in ICO is not a difficult job and anyone can registered on their site and transfer ether and will get the tokens. The thing to take note of is that if the ico in which we are investing is worth investing or not. Most of the time, when the coins comes on exchanges they are way less than the ICO price. :'(

Search ICO you want to invest mainly on team behind all this next the whitepaper then come and see how is rating on this project on several ICO announcement sites that have some additional information about project you want to invest. Dont rush into making some bad call that will end up losing our investment.

1. I haven't invested in any ICO yet, as I got in crypto when huge downturns started to happen and the market was shrinking so I was afraid of investing.
2. Forum. I believe that here you can have the clearest picture of what a project can offer. There are many experienced people from many sectors in here so every opinion contributes to my perception of a project idea.
3. Support. Even if the idea is moderate when a project is backed by popular investors and partners it will be functional eventually.
4. Website. All the information is here and UI can show if the project is serious.

I hope all the best in your research and I hope that I helped a lot!

Investing in an ICO is not yet recommended because 90 % of it are being considered as scam as what other had told in this forum. It could be true because I was able to join some.projects that are now.dead and consider as scam where the people' money have taken out already. There were few that promise and just lying that platform was being developed though it was really never will going to happen.

You are just talking about random ICO but here we are all concerning about filtering a very good and potential based ICO for gaining the maximum returns for our investment. An investment should be based on study and not just due to the availability of some opportunity.

Unfortunately people are making their investment into ICOs just for the reason of having another crypto-based opportunity and that is the reason most of the people here are not going for studying those ICOs, they just believe that all the coins and tokens may perform similar to bitcoin in getting them multiple returns. Only time may prove how accurate they are with their investments and predictions. But, if you take time to analyse then you will be right always with your predictions and investments.

If you are a good researcher then first check the ICO team and market value and the expert opinion and their ranking in the ICO bench and then investment through forum is also a good way and if you have some savings then investment in ICO is good way of making money and now the holding is strategy i am following.
I really agree with what you say, but now it's very difficult to choose ico who can get rewards that are in accordance with what we have done to survive and do more research and research on ico that we will have

Of course you need to carefully study all projects. This is not even discussed. Are there people who invest in absolutely any ICO? I invested earlier and if I see a promising project, I invest now. I learn about projects from Twitter and Telegram. First, I study the team and look at the partners. Then everything else.

that's a good thing to do when you want to invest in an ICO project make sure that it has a very promising platform and in the future you can get benefits from them. but as you can see from now a lot of reports regarding about scheme projects which is not actually good for the investors and to us bounty hunters, many of us are very disappointed.

before investing in the ico project I will conduct research and comparative studies of what products they are carrying out and see the extent of community support and forum services,
It is good if they use third parties to promote their projects and the legality of their companies and their main investors after seeing the development of the company, as well as the enthusiasm of the people when we follow their projects

The ICO investment is really going down in this current year. Most of the investors are now not satisfied in making investment with ICO because of their high expectation. They are always thinking that their investment can be double or even triple in a short period of time. Always take note that there are only few ICOs that are promising and really worth it to make investment.

my advice, don't invest ico for the long term, because the price of the ico coin won't rise higher like bitcoin or etherum. to invest long term, ico is pretty good.

That is true. The trend now is to invest short term or semi long term only because the market these days do not really allow ICOs to heavily gain value like it was before. Thus, if you want to invest in them, make sure that you thoroughly study its background and its objectives in order to make the investment work, especially these days when it is just hard to find success.

better to use our money buying cheap coins from top 100 coinmarket, or maybe buying tokens/coins that recently listing in market.usually its price down sharply.this will more profitable for us.
Yes, I agree, because for now buying ICO coins looks very bad, I experience it myself when I buy ICO coins on Token sales, the price is very cheap, but when in the exchange market, prices don't go up and prices tend to be very cheap when I want sell on the market.

Investing in the ICO is a big challenge and this gives an experience of the course of an ICO, with good or bad experiences being one lesson that can lead us to a better direction.
Indeed, when we invest in ICO experiencing low prices to the market, this is where we are also challenged by our emotions, and the creative team will certainly continue to be excavated and improved if things happen that are not desirable.

If you want to invest in an ICO make sure first if the team composition is really that legit or will really deliver good development on the project. That might be enough but you should DYOR on every aspect of its legitimacy.

Indeed. If you really want to invest in an ICO you should do some research about your target ICO you must know if their team achieve a successful ICO in the past and for me the team manager is one of a big factor to know before you invest especially if you really know whom is the team manager. Many ICO projects are scammed so you should always be careful to choose.

sometimes, many people take advantage of investments in the ICO when they have a market. some people say that, at the time of listing, the price will definitely go down, and that is a good opportunity for those who want to invest. however, some people also invest in the presale stage to get a lot of bonuses

my advice is to wait until the ico reaches the soft cap first and how fast they get it. if within 2-3 months you have achieved a soft cap, ico will definitely succeed in achieving a hard cap and the exchange rate will be high. that's when you start entering for investment and wait until the hard cap is really reached.

When investing in ICos all I check is the history and how suitable the members comprising the team structure are.
How much is the softcap and hardcap and how feasible to raise it in the current market position.
I check the whitpaper and website also.
I try to find out the usecases for the project and to know if it's a necessity in the cryptocurrency space.

you are right, some projects have a mission and vision that is really not needed at all.
provide a solution to something that is not a problem, they obviously just want to make a profit. as investors, you have to really study the project you want to follow. if you don't want to lose your money there.

Even if they are listed in the ICO rating website you cannot assure that the project is end up successful and not a scam projects,so it's better to research with our own and not expect with other opinion because we can be more assured if we doing our own research.

Investing an ICO is not that easy this time. Because I believe that there are so many ICO on the feild that is now scam and if we fall into this scam ICO it is a way to a great loss. I believe that if we wanted to invest in ICO we needbti be more temperate about it and we also need to search for the ICO information or the team behind it for us to have  more assurance with regards to the ICO that we invested. We needbti be more wiser this time because scammer is now increasing.

Not only it is difficult to invest in icos now since many of them are scams, one huge problem is that many investors do not have any faith left in that market and they are not willing to lose more money in it and to me that is completely logical seeing that so many investors had lost their money, so I do not know if the market of icos will recover from the blow it received.

best way to invest in ico is by checking the rating of icorating websites like icorating.com and tokenmarket.net with these rating websites we can shortlist development coin

Even if they are listed in the ICO rating website you cannot assure that the project is end up successful and not a scam projects,so it's better to research with our own and not expect with other opinion because we can be more assured if we doing our own research.
do with our own research and we will find which is best projects.our experience really give us more knowledge to analize ico projects.ico rating didnt guarante the project quaility when it already listing in market.

There are just so many things to look out for in an ICO investment. I prioritizing, I would like every one to research the history of the team, before even trying to read the whitepaper and others.
That's right and for how to invest in ICO it's easy for those who are difficult to find a good and successful ICO later, because now there are so many ICOs who are ultimately fraudsters

1. a number of times
2. Telegram, this forum
3. Team and advisers. I always do a good research on team, they should be able to deliver good development on the project.
4. Read thoroughly the whitepaper and road map. Once I find the concept vivid and applicable and the road marks feasible, I'm ready to invest.

my advice is to wait until the ico reaches the soft cap first and how fast they get it. if within 2-3 months you have achieved a soft cap, ico will definitely succeed in achieving a hard cap and the exchange rate will be high. that's when you start entering for investment and wait until the hard cap is really reached.

Investing is so simple but what is university that is the matter because we invest in a different currencies but all of them were not profitable for us at any time it had a lot of critical situation there for keeping them as a best then only we will make money from it otherwise our investment and our time will be totally waste.
It is true that investing in ICOs  are simple task but the hard task is finding a good ICOs. Most of the ICOs are worthless project because they do not have good team. Most of the team behind the ICOs are only focusing to earn money from investors.

Investing in an ICO is really good because once it become successful, you will earn a big profit. People tend to do ICOs because there's a big opportunity there. However, investing in an ICO nowadays are too risky, because a lot of them are scams. When you invest in an ICO, you should be careful, make sure that ICO is legit, Do some research (DYOR) so that your money won't be a lost.  ;)

While investing in ico projects I try to read the projects white paper, get to know the team members .
See if there's a working product already.
Ask questions in the group to determine if it's worth investing on.
I aslo check the price of the ico and the available discount if any to arrive an informed decision.

Buying established coins is good but you won't see any of the huge gains you can get from investing in new coins. If you don't know what you are doing just buy bitcoin and leave speculating to the pros  Ethereum ICO investors are still really happy with their 300x return on investment.

If it was that easy then everyone in the forum should have invested in the few projects that became successful and made a lot of money, but what we see is the opposite, we see many people investing in all kind of icos that were later revealed to be scams, so the evidence shows that picking the right ico is difficult and few have the talent to tell a real project from a fake one.

It was easy to invest in an ICO, the hard part is finding a good one that doesn't scam people out of their hard earn money. That's why you will hear a lot of members advising that you do your own research before pouring your hard cash because majority would have run off with investors money and never to be heard again.

especially nowadays, many ico scams, it is difficult to find ico who is truly responsible, because only a small portion for now is like that. if I may give a suggestion, it is better to invest in potential coins, especially when the price is relatively low, so we will get more coins, so we have the opportunity to profit more

It depends on the soft cap, there were many projects that in the past were asking for ridiculous amounts of money that you knew they did not needed and yet people bought coins that were clearly overpriced and then they complained they were losing money when they should have understood from the beginning that it was going to be impossible to be profitable with an ico that asked so much money for their coins.

Investing in an ICO is made simpler of late. Every project has its own unique way of receiving funds. Some prefer it through the website and others through the provision of a unique address on their telegram page. The issue here is how to determine a good ICO and a bad one because not all ICOs are worth investing in.

this is very detrimental to investors, besides waiting too long, it can also eliminate money from investors. therefore we learn to be smart investors so we can avoid ico like this. of course, ico like this makes a bad image of cryptocurrency, and ultimately affects the price of crypto

I haven't invested in ICO so far, I might in the future. Currently I am not financially capable.
Does friend count, for question no 2? Cause that's where I heard about it  :)
I would take in consideration the ICO if the partners and investors are serious players, like Microsoft or so, for example.
Since I haven't invested in any yet, I can only say that when I am ready to, I will do all from number four. Only right approach by my opinion.

During 2018 and until the beginning of 2019 at this time indeed, ICO projects have a poor reputation level. This can be seen from the decreasing level of public trust in the ICO project. The decline in public confidence has reduced the number of existing investments. It's a bad thing, but we should be able to give a positive stigma because when we support the situation can be a lot better.

I have invested in two ICOs, thus the doc.com project and the Lympo project. All were health related projects and i got most of the related information on the forum through the signature campaign which led to me to ANN thread. After which i got the website and whitepaper to do an extensive research on the projects. This is the most difficult yet essential part of investment. Choosing a good ICO is the key to your profit not necessarily the amount intended to invest.

Not only ico but also cryptos.  people have a less confidence with them because they see that the prices are dropping but few are also feeling the opposite . they were attracted because they see that the prices are cheap . thats why they buy more  .

you are right, we must not think negative because that can only make the situation worst .  lets look at the bright side , other ico's and cryptos are still showing signs of life . that only proves that the overall market can recover in no time .

Although investment in ico projects these days is very risky but it's not an excuse not to invest when you see a good one because life itself is a risk.
Just like the poster made in the submission, all you need to do is to carry out research and due diligence before investing on any project so you don't loose your money unnecessary.

I have put some of my money into ICO a few times yet not regularly. That is on the grounds that this is exceptionally unsafe and hard to do, numerous ICOs are dead and don't keep down for long. So I will be progressively watchful in picking ICO for venture. I am searching for this discussion, on the grounds that here total, there are numerous ICOs and can be utilized as a venture.
I will pick cautiously in the event that I need to put resources into ICO on the grounds that I see this is unsafe, so I directed an itemized examination in ICO. Last time I have invested on Binance launchpad for BTT and made some decent profit by exchanging it.

My criteria for Investing in ICO or Sto is very simple, I verify that it is supported by an already established company, because the image of a company does not want to tarnish with a bad reputation, it is very different when an ICO project and without any support of an already consolidated company , I recently found an ICO from the United Kingdom that has a consolidated company and I know it will not be a fraud, and they have all their legal documents and up to date, this type of projects will have a future, and they have taken advantage of the growth of Blockchain to generate goods and services.

well, we all have different criteria. I sometimes measure the quality of an ICO, from the project they make, their team, their partnership. it will be a plus if they have confirmed their cooperation with several exchangers.

Same here, ICO are so risky to invest so all of us need to take a deep look at the potential of ICO project before any investment, As you said we all have different criteria to choose the right ICO for investing, but the main and important things to know are:
1- The potential of team.
2- The idea of the project.
3- The bankroll of the project.
4- Their partnership and it will be better if they have a good site and to look more serious.

Always check correct news about how much their coin sold out, many ICO use fake news about their coin sell have raised soft cap and make investor are interested with their project, after listing on exchange market always with lower price than ICO.

Indeed, by chatting we can ask many things that we do not know so that the activity of the team must always be observed. Always more careful and careful in choosing ICO, if the website looks good and convincing, then many partners support it, the movement of each ICO does have a different strategy and this must be understood.

I think that the ICO procedure is kind of dead and it is not used from the projects themselves. They have already started turning the public sales into private sales as people are now more cautious and afraid of investing in an ICO that may end up dead 1 month later.
Binance launchpad is a good solution yet it is too centralized and in BTT sale, only little people managed to purchase tokens (I am not sure if they were with the highest amounts of buys).

Due to possibilities of competition it would be best to see the team members first because they will be the one responsible for the success of the project. There are good ICOs that do not have good exposure due to less actions made by the team as a result it failed. Second to the team members would be the ICO itself.  There are innovative ideas but couldn't just get into a successful market due to some problems with its utility. If the utility for the coin is intended to reach out any sector of the community then it would be best.

How investing in some potential ICO is pure gamble.

But if you want to find good one then you need to research and understand how this new market is working now with so many ICOs involved. You need to research some base list, on this i mean whitepaper, concept, team and interest.

If something from this is missing the most likely to be scam. Read good whitepaper too cuz most scam copy something from another and then change ICO name.

Forget about social media promotions and engagement. If want to invest in an ICO/STO then you should prior the Team behind the project and read the Whitepaper carefully. Not just read but do the research on the project website and check the future plans.

Investing in ICO is easy but choosing the right ICO for you and for your budget is not that easy. There are some ICO's nowadays that are so expensive and some of us can't afford it right? But, if you do the right research about the ICO that you are investing for sure you will make a profit on it. It is just that you should do some research to gain information and to have satisfaction.
indeed when investing in ICO is very easy, but what makes it not easy is to determine the best ICO and can provide benefits, because the goal when you participate in ICO is that you can benefit from the tokens or coins that you get from ico, and now there are so many ico is a scam so that it will make investors difficult for safe and guaranteed ico investments.

Yes your are really right because many promotions in social medias are almost fakes or copy only. Like you said read and search the whitepaper is very important. But the one of the important is to always look the project everyday if this is updated or not , the more the project active the more the chance that this ico`s success in the future.

my advice, don't invest ico for the long term, because the price of the ico coin won't rise higher like bitcoin or etherum. to invest long term, ico is pretty good.
When I was new to cryptocurrency, I used to think that with time, ICO coins could increase in value which is supposed to be but it did not happen to most of my ICO coins in my wallet. What happened was the opposite, majority of those are already forgotten and gone to almost zero in value though there were very few that I profited good from but it doesn't guarantee that all the rest of ICO coins will have the same fate.

When it comes to investing no one likes to lose, so investing in the first ico you see is very easy but it is not recommended, that is when the real problem begins, there are thousands of coins and there are new coins appearing every day, there are so many that just trying to keep track of all the new projects is an almost impossible task and when you take into account the low success rate among icos you need to wonder if it is worth to read their websites, announcement threads and white papers when the chances of losing money are so high.

only few projects that need KYC for their investors.overall investing in ico didnt need any special skill , every one could do this as long as they have some money.

I think there are only a few good ICOs, because at present most ICOs are only good when they are launched and when they are raising funds, whereas when fundraising is finished their projects are neglected and there are a lot of ico prices that fall because they don't have clear project development.

This is a good topic to discuss with especially to those individuals who were aiming to invest in a project. But, if I were to.invest then probably i will do more research for it has a huge risk especiallybin choosing a goos team to handle your money. There are teams that are known already and good in handling projects but i suggest to invest in a project after it is being listed and you can stary chosing a project listed on binance excahnge.

yes, KYC can be very important. but, the most important thing about ICO investment is how you see the project can be useful for you. actually a lot of things need to be considered, but most of them have already been mentioned above. You only need to choose a project that is truly reliable.

it is not easy to determine how a project can make your investment useful in the future, maybe even some people who have commented suggest prohibiting investing in an ICO project.

not without reason, because some ICO projects don't work as they should. investment is only a cover for their fraud.

Those kinds of projects may have a high chance of getting a secure my investments to prevent from getting lose our investments when we choose a wrong projects.
yes, KYC can be very important. but, the most important thing about ICO investment is how you see the project can be useful for you. actually a lot of things need to be considered, but most of them have already been mentioned above. You only need to choose a project that is truly reliable.
KYC has nothing to do with security or if an ICO is legit, a scammer can just make an requirement in his ICO send to him important personal information and the project is still a scam. Scam of this sort are even more sick because the scammer has your identity.
KYC is just an excuse of the better scammers to make their scam ICO look legit, but scam is still scam.

my advice, don't invest ico for the long term, because the price of the ico coin won't rise higher like bitcoin or etherum. to invest long term, ico is pretty good.
This is two contradicting views in one statement, you said that not to invest in ICO for the long term and yet you say to invest long term, which one is true.  :P I really do not believe in ICO now and never invested anything in any of these projects for the past one year, initially i made some investments and made my profits and then there was a wave of new projects and majority were scams and hence i stopped investing or wasting my time reading those white papers. If there is a big project with well known team then i will invest, other than that i will not waste my time.

it is not easy to determine how a project can make your investment useful in the future, maybe even some people who have commented suggest prohibiting investing in an ICO project.

not without reason, because some ICO projects don't work as they should. investment is only a cover for their fraud.
Simply invest on a project only if you know the project has enough potential level to increase its value in the future but I am not going to take such kind of risk which is like blind so I always prefer other cryoto investments over ICOs

It's not, a project that is having KYC procedure isn't a measure to determine which one is the real projects. They could misused your credentials for their own benefit like for criminal frauds and stuff, it's like doing 50:50 gamble when you invest on an ICO. So, good luck with that.

Investing anywhere is almost the same, before you invest in ICO that is very important,
1. You have to get to know the ICO starting from the team, investors, and developments in the ICO on the market,
which needs to be remembered under ICO at high risk in all fields, prioritizing accuracy, and consideration. Never invest if you don't understand for sure. can cause your money to be completely lost. remember because of a lack of understanding of investment regulations, can you have difficulty returning your lost money in the event of a failure.

Many of ICO are really great - they offer something new that never existed before. I do not think that once these projects will end. The problem is how to choose a very good and promising ICO.
most of ico now has useless function.i think they just create useless token in fake ecosystem.we have to very selective choosing ico projects.personally i am prefer use my money to buy existing coins.
If they don't bring better innovations or instead replicate Lates ICO technology, then there is no potential for their project.
I myself avoid such projects, look for ICO projects that have big and innovative plans

well, before investing, prepare the document used to verify the KYC that will be used for the procedure later. You also need to prepare minimal funds to invest. however, pay attention to all aspects of the project, especially comments from investors. find out all information that can be obtained from the ICO to avoid scammers.

I am agree, never invest if we dont understand the project or the developers team. The project and developers team hold the key of successful ICOs. But in this current market condition, many good project dont reach the target because investor must be wait and see on market condition

Yes, we should look for all information about the ICO so that we can minimize the risk of lossing a money and avoid being scam on it. Being aware on the project team and background is also very important because this will help the ICO to reached their desired outcomes for the community that would encourage many investors to invest and believe in their project.

In addition, most probably scam project are those having a fake team, they can't provide their personal data on their team and most likely plagiarized with other project roadmaps. So, we are careful about this possibly happen, we can manage our own risk on investing project so dept researched is a must though.

That's true, while investing into ICO one needs to understood better about the project worth and its use case, because there are more ico's that gets good development at the initial stage. Later due to the lack of development the project goes failed or losses value. In this regard while investing into an ico luck too matters big.

In the telegram, the admin will help us to be able to complete the payment or the procedure. because every ico has its own procedure and is different

Last time I didn't invest on ICO instead i worked for them by helping them introduce their product in the web, then after that they gave me some spare of their coin and then hold it for a short time the  sold it for a very reasonable price. My first advice is look for the legitimacy, identify all the members and staff contact them one by one if possible. Then join all their campaigns support them all the way if it is truly legit but only do that if their team is really responsible and on hand at making this project work.

Look for a good ICO first because it is very necessary to find the right ICO for us. Because it could be affected by a scam because there are many ICOs that cheat many people.
currently looking for a good ICO and of course it is very difficult for us to have to conduct research and research, is it true that the coins we will invest will carry the benefits of the future
If you manage to pick project that really have a good future then benefits is indeed can be brought to us, before taking any actions
much better to invest with your knowledge and be keen to keep learning not only with ico projects but those possible factors that will
also affects the progress.

You already have good resources, what you need to do next is to keep reviewing and studying the benefits and future goals of the said project.

As the rewards were settled once after the campaign gets over it is really hard to analyze and conclude whether the ICO is worth it or not. Investing will get a good return if the project gets a good investment and gets listed to good number of exchanges. Maybe the legitimacy can be understood with the members associated with the project.

We have so many ICOs pop out every day sometimes its so hard to track them all. But key element for this ICO investment is research. Without it you cannot do anything. Research everything in the project you are willing to take cuz one small gap in this and you will end up with nothing in the end.

well, there are many things that need to be considered in this case, not only the team, but also the effectiveness of a team from the project in carrying out the project. sometimes projects that have a good path are when they are often visiting the country, or a place to promote their project. many things that indicate the project is a good project, and that is something that needs to be checked before joining.

ICO sales are really a quick and effective way to earn massive profits as we can easily multiply the profits as soon as the token hits the exchange and starts getting demand. But yet, there is a lot of risk involved in investing into ICO sales as most of the sales are turned out to be scam. Understanding and making correct investment is not always an easy task even if you investigate each minor details. Always keep in ming to recheck about the project with the team members and see if they are a real individual backing up the project.

Well many ICO analysis websites show paid content and mostly the rating is also paid. I think we should consult few ICO rating websites like icobench.com etc and do not relay on the single site. Secondly we should visit their site, check the team and their associations with other companies etc before we actually invest in any ico.

Indeed, many rating website receive payment to make up ICO ratings. If we want to invest in ICOs, we should make our own analysis, rating in website could be our second opinion

If you want to invest in an ICO make sure first if the team composition is really that legit or will really deliver good development on the project. That might be enough but you should DYOR on every aspect of its legitimacy.
before investing by following ico we have to look at the team behind the project because currently there are many ico who provide very good vision and mission but at the end of the project we do not get rewards in the investment that we will get

In Addition:
~ I have been successful in investing with ICOs and lost a lot of my time and money by investing with some. Hence I consider myself as a good ICO investor as of today. Research is one of the most important things you have to do before investing.

~ A forum is the most trusted community to find the best ICO to invest with. Bitcointalk members opinions really count since they are the professionals in cryptocurrency and been here for almost 5 years.

~ A team is the most important thing to research when it comes to ICO. The team must be very trusted and you should see their eyes crying with passion.

~ A whitepaper is something to consider.

we need to analize projects completely.not only team background, but we have to analize their usage creating token or coins.maybe at this moment joining ico on binance pad could give us profits.

Before investing go through the Whitepaper of the respective ico. Then take it into real time use and understand whether the product is truly necessary at present. If you're satisfied and find good to invest, then just make use of the bonus on ico pre sales and invest which lets you get additional bonus tokens.

everything you explain is true, but the most important thing is, dare to make a buying decision. not affected by others. it will make us even more convinced that ico will rise high when we have high confidence.

Yes, of course, the most important thing is our belief when making an investment, this will certainly have an effect on future results if we are not sure of failure or defeat, confidence and patience is one of the keys to the results that we will achieve in the future

1. Have you invested or are you thinking of investing in an ICO?
I tried to invest in ICO before, the time they are so popular, due to the hype I follow other investors and take advantage the bonus tokens.

2. By what means of communication did you hear about the last ICOs you remember?
In telegram, we have this group of local investors suggesting for a good ICO to invest in.

3. What do you evaluate when investing in an ICO? Priority order.
There are many factors to consider when choosing the right ICO like the team, their website, roadmap, whitepaper and the project itself if they can solve real problem.

There are times we failed but eventually we will learn.

Risk is always present in the market especially for investors, now, the image of ICO is bad, hence that pose a risk to any investors who
would try to risk their money on ICO's future, still that's our own decision, as long as we are responsible for what we are doing, it's never wrong to invest.

It is not easy to choose a fair and legitimate ICO. After studying the project idea you like, it is very important to get to know the team, because the project’s success depends on them by 90%. They should be transparent and accessible to lively dialogue, which is extremely rare.

I invest in Iico based on research and observations in the forum. this is one thing that might be possible. I do it after I read in many sources and this can be one of the best ways

Investing on dip is really hard this time, because ico today is really affected from the very huge dip that we are experiencing. The coin and token is really dropping. I believe the we need to become more patience and we also need to find a legit ico for good. Because some of the ico now a days are scam so we need to be more extra careful on choosing ICO for our investment.

I would rather make an investment to a charity foundation rather than investing in an ICO because you know what, sometimes, giving is better than receive.

Always research an ICO before investing and don't forget to invest your funds in the amount of your funds that are ready to disappear (meaning do not use important money and money that you really need).
very good advice, you are absolutely right, dont ever invest money in your main needs for crypto, just use the excess money we have.

I have invested in icos in the past. And I still invest in good icos today.

I hear about icos mainly via forums like this and then some from WhatsApp groups

Market, team, how much invested already, support/partners

I look at the team first then I go through the Whitepaper or any other official writeup from the team about the project
