Actually what happened to the market and BTC now? then what about the Altcoin situation that also follows a graph that continues to decline.
I think I have to stay calm for a while and spend time with my family at home.

Well, last xmas bitcoin was at $20k, and we know nothing can always go up. So it was the time for the market adjustments, and that's what is happening right now, it's only market adjustments who can take even more than a year... If you see everything falling is because all the altcoins have their price based in bitcoin, so, lets say, if 1 BTC = $20k and 1 ETH = 0.1 BTC, that mean 1 ETH = $2k, but if bitcoin goes down to $10k now 1 ETH will be $1k, but at the same time will be the same 0.1 BTC. With this we can see how the bitcoin crash affect all the altcoins. And some alts have the double crash, the crash from BTC and the crash for the own coin.

you're right friend. that's what happened, when bitcoin has decreased almost all altcoins have also decreased significantly. but I believe this is like a change of season, there will be time for them to reappear after the fall. Altcoin markets are slaves of bitcoin so if it goes down then they have to follow the king.

This  situation right now can be surpassed as long as you're  having dedicated goals in order for us to survive. We need not to worry of fluctuating effect of the price,  because by the time we will be able  to achieve  our goals we will earn what we been struggling of. Everybody should  learn and not rely on their fears,  because  if they remain to that mindset nothing  will happen but a failure.

It's temporary and bitcoin is still up since last year except the December all time high's.

The market will be stabilizing soon and while you can take the market emotionally, don't be so down and worried with it. Crypto has been established for few years and though there are bad speculations don't listen to them and just have your vacay.

Right at the same time as I do now, in this bearish market I still wait until it's over and move to recover the bitcoin price increases again, because it doesn't rule out that alt coin will be the same, so at least to stay patient and take a break while monitoring the movement and changes in market prices

altcoins are NOT following bitcoin!
for instance bitcoin reached $6k bottom 4 or 5 months ago. by that time altcoins were worth a lot more. for example ETH was about $500 then bitcoin went to $7k and came down to $6k again but altcoins went lower. for instance ETH was worth $300ish by then. then bitcoin went to $7k again and came back to $6k and altcoins went lower for example ETH went to $200ish this time and this last drop from $7k to $6k of bitcoin pushed them down to even lower ($180) so you can't say they are following bitcoin!

what is happening? nothing new, altcoins are getting dumped like they always do.

That's the best thing that we can do right now aside from buying, focus on your real life for now and be back again when market is pumping. Don't look at the market everyday, you cannot change it this can help you not to panic. Crypto market is a market that there anything can be occured anytime.Not worried about this matter. Now price is low but one time it will be high.I am still waiting for this.

A lot need to be put in to recover this market as the market has gone down seriously. I find out that many are selling out of panic and Fear of losing more. I think we need to stop selling in other to be able to see pick in price.

Most people aren't that easily shifted from mindset with how they either invested more than what they can afford, or they invested with borrowed money. I hope that you don't fit in either of the aforementioned categories, which will significantly increases your chances to relocate your focus. Bull runs are great for those who bought in early on, but what people don't realize is that when traders cash out their profits at peak levels, there is a large group of people on the other side losing big time. Money doesn't miraculously fall out of the sky. It shifts from the dumb right into the pockets of the smart. It's not for nothing that in pretty much every market, +90% of the participants are losers. In other words, know that it's more likely to lose than to win.

the price increases if have demand and decreases if there is no demand, then you look at the news and find out that banks X are closing accounts of people who buy cryptos or that country Z banned bitcoin, this reduces the demand and consequently the price falls.

ICO does not have any part to play to this. There will always be inflow and outflow of money in the market based on demand and supply. If ETH is dropping rapidly, It is simply just because investors still deem it fit to want to cash out. It is just a trend of the market where the bears are shininf and it is not only affecting a single market but the whole market, so putting it on ICO sounds a bit out of it for me.

Things that I think are common in markets that rise and fall because of the nature of crypto fluctuate. Facing this situation must be patient, focus on finding funds. something like this I think is a good opportunity to invest.

Yes. This is just a part of the story as there will always be other part. The same way we had the bullish trend last year and everyone was shouting moon, it is the same way we are having a retracement at the moment and most people are shouting death.

This kind of mindset is the reason why a lot of people always end up joining FOMO in the long run when they should be taking advantage of the dip instead. I think that it is enough now and the upcoming days will enter us into a change market where the price will start to increase and may cross its previous highest record value. The Bitcoin’s value has started to increase in value today as compared to its yesterday’s value it has improved by 300 US dollar price today which is a good sign.

Just compare the price with last years price (before the sudden price rise). You will see we are actually quite high in value compared to the price which was back in two years ago. And you have to think that the price of bitcoin may decrease more than this, it can even reach $ 1000 because every trader will experience saturation so they decide to go out temporarily and make prices drop dramatically.

No one knows future, if you are taking the current year the same as last year then you are wrong because market price and conditions keep on changing for Bitcoin. The market conditions this time may not be the same as that of last year so you must be thinking neutral and just wait to see the price movement in the upcoming future days then you would be able to do something according to that condition.

That was a wise answer indeed. As long as you are not selling at loss and you believe in what you are investing in for the long run, I really do not think anyone should end up being fearful when it comes to the market, and should be able to take advantage of every opportunity, either it is buying the dips, knowing where to sell the market craze and then at the end of the day, if you are an investor, just being patient to wait for the best in the long run, because certainly it would come.

They could fall further in the long term, but in the short term, I only see them giving some good push. Normally, like the OP even after everything, it is always better to just stay calm, focus on the future, look at the better side of things, spend time with family and you would be surprised at how far you have gone before you even know it. People who are always in a haste to make money are the ones who always find it hard when it comes to staying calm in anything and that backfires a lot for them.

I think this is the right thing to do if you're a long term holder, there is no point in watching your coins every single day because the bull market is not going to appear out of nowhere, it is going to take some time to form and when we finally begin to see that it's coming you'll have plenty of time to come back to the market and put all your attention to it.

That's a good idea mate,  tried to stay awhile for family and leaving for sometime in a stressful market. But for me, still business at usual.  I've don't want to leave my investment in time like these and I'll be more focus and do buying more coins and then hold.

The price of cryptocurrency is now low , but i think after sine times most of coins will grow and some of coins will keep high price. The all we can do now is to get more coins and hold for long time, and also can be made some trades and get more from there.

This is not new. In fact it is for every kind of investment and trading market to experience such kind of shocks and then come out of it. Then I don't think there is any need for panic, because crypto currency market is no exception.

lets not confuse volatility with pump and dumps. being volatile is annoying of course as you can see it with bitcoin and it is making difficulties for adoption,... of bitcoin as a currency but it is understandable because bitcoin has a small market and is new. but the pump and dumps that we have in altcoin market are really unacceptable and that is why people are complaining. it is because when pump and dumps occur you can not make a logical investment, you turn into a gambler or part of manipulation itself.

and most of the problems come from people seeing bitcoin and investing in it then they are promised the same thing with altcoins so they invest in them too. bitcoin delivers those promises but altcoins get dumped on them.

I mean Bitcoin is still holding and going strong so I don't know what's the complain is all about. As for the decline of the price, its pretty obvious that we have reached a bubble in 2017 and it has been burst in 2018. Its just a normal thing in a market such as bitcoin.

But for altcoins is totally different. Just look at Ethereum right now, it had suffered almost 90% from its previous all-time-high because investors and those ICO's that hold thousands of Ethereum at some point are dumping and will continue to dump it.

Rushing and thinking too much without anything to apply will add nothing. Correction occurred and that's no question, after hitting all time high it is accompanied by a massive dip so that you must expect that thing to come from the start.

In my opinion the price is according to the market cap. When there is no demand for bitcoin how the price will increase? It is beyond the senses. I don’t understand these phenomena. Decline is not the problem; it is people's attitude to the decline that is the main issue. When a market is in a downtrend, it is a normal thing for any market, but the fact that a lot of people not to understand how to make important market decisions, then, they always see an uptrend and moon days ahead while joining FOMO and then see the downtrend as an issue rather than remaining calm and taking good advantage of it.

not really. maybe some newbies who are new to the market are waiting for some weird news to come and save their asses but not the whole market. for instance you can clearly see that the Google ads thing came out a while ago where google started allowing bullshit ads on their platform again but it had no effects on prices!

I was explaining something to someone recently about how this condition is a normal thing and it is applicable to every other market, and then he asked was why it ended up being his own time that the market decided to now go the other direction and what if the market does not come back to live ?

I just think Bitcoin prices are fluctuates steadily lately from 6200$ till 6700$ and if you are not so stupid that you are constantly buying then price reach his peak at 6700$ you cant lose any of yours money.

I think everything is normal. Due to some fake news people think that cryptocurrency is a fake and Ponzi scheme and will disappear from the market taking money of the investors, but the fact is against this thread. Bitcoin is going well and people still believe it the most, keeping their money in it and that is the reason that the market cap of bitcoin is still on top.

yes the two altcoins rose sharply, but ETH price movements tend to be slower. XRP has risen to the price of $ 0.7 and the price is now stable at $ 0.5  ::)

I have no idea what happend  with all of  this thinks ,a few years ago everything was going up and up , and now everything is going down , even bitcoin is going down , the king of crypto is falling down . But if a king is falling down then someone else will take his place ,who will be ?

There is only one alternative for bitcoin and hat's Ethereum but it's not the right time and as there were too many fluctuations in the market and i feel the last 3 months have been a smooth transition as we did not have a huge pump or dump and everyone is eyeing on the month of december to see if they can get one more bull market which looks impossible as of now.

By the way, I'm sure there won't be anything that can replace the king, the fall in prices this year. I think it's fair as a correction and I still accept that, even though the price of bitcoin fell but bitcoin still remains strong and remains a price guide for the crypto market. There is nothing strange or anything about everything that has happened so far, because after all bitcoin moves from the lowest value and it is only natural that a major correction occurs.

Yeah it is right because I think that the current price of bitcoin is too good than any other crypto in the world. People want a big bump in the price like the previous year but it will not happen this time. I myself do not want any big bump in the price. If the price rises gradually with the passage of time, it is enough, because the aim of crypto is not making money but the worldwide use like a regular currency.

well, don't despair, when bitcoin prices go down, of course there is still hope that bitcoin prices will be even higher. well, maybe this year cryptocurring prices have dropped so far, but if you compare them with last year, I think the current bitcoin price is very stable.

This is a market, downtrend is a normal thing to expect and always an opportunity to buy back lower for those who are smart enough to know they should be buying when others are fearful. Nothing can be guaranteed yet absolutely, but the optimism is there coupled with the fact that the fourth quarter has always been bullish over the years, and we might hope for the same thing as well this year. Like you said, market is always bound to recover at some point, we cannot know it, but certainly we can be hopeful for it, but with the way things are going, I would rather be hopeful and buy the dips.

Yes bitcoin bearish market was suffering for long now. Since many of us had a high hopes in this condition of market for most of us rely in bitcoin and truly hold until now. Let just hope that it will recover in time.

I think another thing we should focus on is the silence of the whales. I understand the price is not moving much but back in the day the whales at least considered going a bit up and a bit down, this has been like this for the past 3-4 months where the price moved up and down slightly so the whales would good returns on their moves however for the past month there hasn't been a proper movement at all, not even whales are trying to make some decent returns with bitcoin which sounds a bit scary.

When whales stop manipulating the market because they deem it not worthy it sounds a bit scary. Lets hope we can get some activity going on in the action soon.

in my opinion, if we look at it from the previous year, it is indeed the price and value of crypto currencies and the risk and nature of cryptocurrencies have always been and of course the investors already know that only our confidence and patience can be the main capital in investing.

The ethereum deal is mostly caused by all those ICO people cashing out their funds from the ICO they collected which makes ETH drop very far away, while bitcoin is not always dropping, the slight increases in bitcoin causes altcoins to lose value against bitcoin even if they do not lose that much with dollars.

I honestly believe that people who cash out their small coins first trade those coins to bitcoin and cash out later, which causes bitcoin to have 1 in and 1 out but the altcoin to have only 1 out, which causes altcoin to drop but doesn't affect btc.

Yes by being patience we can pursue our main goals to invest and to earn profit in crypto. A huge difference in terms of trend from last year upto present about the price. But, market I am certain for the moment to recover.

In my opinion what happened with Crypto was normal, prices went up and down because they were adjusted to stock and demand, but I was sure that the factors that caused prices to drop were due to the many projects and coin scams that made people afraid to put money in crypto.

The market this days is not so high, but i think will grow in last months of this year. We don't need to panic sell the coins now as all legit project will grow and we can make some nice profit if we hold. Sometimes no one really knows whats going on. Right now all of the market is in red and we are bleeding out money like crazy but we have no idea what happened. Seriously what happened today that made the prices drop this much? Was it the stock markets crashing ? Was it a 15k sell off from a whale? Was it some sort of dump to make money on short futures ?

We don't really know. We are just here to watch and see our investments burn a little further. If we at least had a reason a solid reason to say this is why everything dropped than we would have been fine but we do not know why and what happened unfortunately, which is infuriating.

in my opinion this is a very normal price movement because previously the cryptocurrency price was very expensive and this year cryptocurrency prices will tend to fall and will make price corrections as at present, there are also some cases of bad news circulating in some media so that prices collapse due to traders panic.

The "there was nothing going wrong" type of falls are the most scary ones and shows how little our volume is and how fragile the demand/supply chain in crypto is.

For example one big whale with a lot of bitcoin wanted to get out? He sells all his coins and since the buyer/seller sides are insanely fragile and volume is crazy low whenever he sells the price will always go down, that's just one big whale, and here we are talking about how bitcoin is ready for big banks and investment firms to get in? There is no way any big companies to get into bitcoin directly (maybe otc) because they would cripple the market deadly if they do.

That's why they are trying to get some sort of ETF, with that kind of money they can both bet on the price and change the price to their liking and make double the money.

As of now the price s it seems  declining but that's normal  because demands and supplies, and sometimes issues also will affect investors trust, but  the important thing the system integrity still there, the price situation now is just a temporary, because the opportunity still wide because there are lots of country that will adopt bitcoin.

I don’t think that ETF would affect the price of bitcoin because bitcoin itself is not able to collect funds and if it announces something under it. How people would invest in that? I don’t understand this. But I want to say that if the ETF is approved or disapproved we must do believing in bitcoin and not worry about the future of it and be optimistic for a better future.

The OP is definitely a crypto day trader base on what she said and I think stopping day trading for awhile is good but she must seize the opportunity of this current market either cause we won't experience another dip in price like this year again.

The good part about bitcoin going up and the altcoins going down is that the price of altcoins in dollar value doesn't devalue that much even tho the bitcoin price going down and whatever happens in the end the price of those crypto currencies goes back to what it was on bitcoin price which means the dollar value goes back up as well.

Hence, if you wait for a bitcoin price increase and watch the altcoins going down you can purchase one of the ones you like and than you can purchase that altcoin and watch it go back to its bitcoin value once again and also increase highly on the dollar value since bitcoin worth more dollar till then. Of course, the market can drop insanely after that and the price of bitcoin can drop as well which means it won't work but if the price doesn't drop that insanely than you can profit easily and it doesn't even take that long.

This whole crypto performance is affected by the on going  bearish market movement in which most of the experts believed that we are still in the middle of it but this bearish market will not going to stay here forever therefore we should continue to believe that sooner or later the bullish market will take over just like there is rainbow always after the rain.

For those who buy when prices are high, I think they need to wait longer to make a profit or hold a few coins that will grow high. The market today is not so high, but I think it will grow in the final months of the year. I think I will not be really getting into any further down to altcoins for a while. Right now when bitcoin goes up the price of altcoins go down and when the price goes down all market goes down which really makes it a loss-loss situation for altcoins, I would stick to trading at usd-btc prices for a while at least we get another big bull run.

I do not mean sticking to bitcoin for a while for long term investment, of course bitcoin is a great long term investment but altcoins are good for long term investment as well, however they are not really good on daily trading lately. Another good thing happening right now is the short futures are not getting purchased as much as it used to and the dude that was on the news a week ago that changed his 500 million dollar worth of tether into bitcoin once again. There are two possibilities for these to happen if you ask me.

Either people are getting out of bitcoin totally and leaving it behind for them or they are believing the price will go up once again. If people are not buying shorts they are either buying longs/holding etc because the price will go up or they are literally not buying shorts because they made enough money and left bitcoin and get that bitcoin cashed to their bank accounts.

If a person changed his 500 million dollar tether (even if its true) to bitcoin it means either he believes the bitcoin price will go up or he wanted to cash that bitcoin into his bank account since he can't really cash out tether directly he had bitcoins and sold them for real dollar instead of the token version.
