Almost every discussion about altcoins majorly is centered around ETH, this has taken over the first page of the _{https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0} section. This goes to show the important of the coin in the space and how much premium is being placed on it. My belief is that ETH will not die and most ICOs will continue to launch on the network. This will make the price to back up as the demand for it will increase.

For the past two years most of the altcoins discussions were about ETH as the price increased and it was going to overtake BTC. Now that the value is going down of course there are a lot of talks. There are still more than 3 million Ethers in ICOs' bags I think the price is going down more as they sell them for their expenses.

This is just a prove of ETH popularity. Most of the talks this mid year are about the drop price and people are concerning about it. Since ETH hit the highest peak last yesr it never rise again and fall harder than any crypto coin.

The crypto market is very depressed. What more do you need to lose? Waiting for my personal opinion. I have nothing but waiting to do.

If Vitalik Buterin does not drop his hands, then Etherium will continue to exist and grow in price!

It is true that most altcoins discussions are about ethereum these days and I think that is mainly because Ethereum is the number-one altcoin out there, it is also the number one blockchain for development of other cryptocurrencies as well as the most popular market pair for alternate currencies when all these factors are considered it is only by default that people talk more about ethereum than any other crypto bitcoin included.

ofc eth is the main alt coin and the huge part of the market depends on it. I agree that eth will survive.

Of course, it will not die just like that projects coming from ICO are selling their eth but this does not mean that they have lost their trust to eth and there are  still a lot of ICO being launch daily and many more in the planning stage, there is still no alternative for Ethereum right now, but many are positioning to be the next eth.

At the end of the day bitcoin and ethereum ''control'' most of the other coins, although ethereum is controlled by bitcoin as well. Ethereum tokens always have an ETH pair so the price of ethereum will influence a lot of tokens. I guess we shouldn't call ethereum an alt coin anymore.

Sure, as ETH is pretty important since so many projects are on ERC20. The last discussions as noticed been about ETH going to 0 etc, what those people do say now when it went up roughly 20% in one day.
BTC is much discussed also. However, what will you say if ETH Sharding will beat Bitcoin Lightning one day? I guess they will be quite competitors and ETH might be a winner here, as they are trying to connect all the different blockchains, do you think they will succeed? BTC will be left as a king, gold king.
According to the ICO launches on ERC20, sure, but Asian's can be using NEO more often.. but anyways, it's hard to believe it will be bigger than ERC20

Most ICOs where built on Ethereum blockchain, so it's hard to push and say ETH will fade out.
It will definitely get better,  because it's relevant in the initial stage of most altcoins

Because ethereum is a development platform for decentralized application development.  So It allows many developers to utilize the ethereum network to build their token. So I will believe that the future ethereum still development and have good future because many project will use it.

ETH is undoubtedly important for all users of this forum and not only. All are very surprised, and nektorovy are even disappointed with ETH price. Here on it there is so much talk. Many trust in this coin and invest in it.

Most of the Altcoins and tokens that will going to be Altcoins are mostly using the Ethereum platform which makes Ethereum become more popular and become center of attraction secondary to Bitcoin therefore it is normal that many eyes are on Ethereum market now most specially the Ethereum platform users.

There are thousands of ICOs having their tokens on Ethereum platform so high interest in Ethereum is natural. Also, it is  the second ranked coin as another reason. Bitcoin has its own forums but still gets discussed on altcoin forums too.

Aside from ETH being the largest altcoin to BTC, the vast amount of projects and tokens launched on the ETH platform leads to it being very popular and talked about. It would be surprising if the price wouldn't at least rise naturally simply bouncing back from the regression that almost all coins/tokens showed. I can't see ETH simply dying out without some major development or a major lack of proper development of the platform over the next few years.

Only stupid people will believe that ethereum will die because this is one of the most established cryptocurrency in this area of profiteering,when i first came here ethereum is just a free from airdrop and i never expct that it woukd go this far so looking back i am sure that this top two coin will progress like what bitcoin has

So stop the worry and just focus on what you are doing,and about that being talked for most of the thread,it is normal thing to show how many cryptonians are relying on this good altcoin

IMO why mostly discussion are about ethereum is just because this coin are on top 10 market & this coin look like become the trend setter on smart contract platform. So many ICO are start using this blockchain platform & some of it become successful in their project.
Still popular for smart contract platform in my opinion, even on this dip like this.

Altcoins are based on ETH.. so I find it very natural for Eth discussions to be the main thing everyone talks about. As all ICO's are negatively impacted by the price decrease Ethereum has seen in the past months, its obvious/expected for it cause a bit of panic. I'm not personally concerned a lot about the price, as it too follows the bitcoins pattern. If you see the charts you will understand what I'm talking about as they are moving at the same directions. The price of bitcoin will rise and as the patterns suggest, Ethereum will follow.

I believe that almost all the topic contains ethereum because, most of the coins and tokens that are suffering from major loss as of now is all in the circle family of ethereum and through its erc20 tokens.

This is true. Even outside of this forum, I see a lot of discussion about eth. Most did not really see the price to drop below $200 (or even $300) so when it did, it instantly became a hot topic.

That is true, Ethereum is one of the major alt coin and others follow. Considering it premium value especially in 2018 when the market value rose attention shifted towards it, and now that it price is falling I totally believe that it is an opportunity to buy or invest more into this coin because it will eventually increase again in price. Yes mate, everyone has been talking about ethereum for the most part of the year. I think they were talking about ethereum because of it downfall in this year. Ethereum has been down since the first quarter of the 2018 and keeps dipping down until this fourth quarter. Ethereum might fall but it will come back.

I think it's only natural that the world is talking about eth, because the price of eth is very low, even in history, this condition is very bad for eth. but on the other hand, if you see statistical data, eth has been at the price of 1400 $, so if you invest eth now, then the profits will be very large if eth can rise

It is logical when you can see the marketcap and the volumes handled by ETH, being such a popular currency is normal that people want to know more, the problem is that there are many other currencies that can be even better than ETH if they receive proper attention, so it is important not to look so much at a currency, when there are better options.

This is exactly how i think about it. Ethereum is being used worldwide for ico's and new token presales etc. Unless there is a better option for this, ethereum will not go down in my opinion. So the price being pushed down, is probably manipulation. All in all i think ethereum will keep his place for a long time.

Ethereum is mother of altcoins and most of the project use Ethereum infrastructure technology, that makes Ethereum strong but that doesn't mean to stop development of Ethereum. They should work rather than before to be afloat.

Ethereum not just strong altcoin.  Ethereum - idea. Smart- contracts can to change the world. If on the one second think that ETH can be depreciate, if to talk  another altcoins can depreciate so much the more.

I believe that in his favor ETH speaks the fact that the creator Vitalik Buterin is not in the shadows, as the founder of Bitcoin. He actively promotes his offspring to the masses and develops new tools, which can not be said of Satoshi Nakamoto, whom many consider a virtual person.

You are right and this shows how popular Ethereum is. Most of the discussions about Ethereum this year are about its drastic drop in price and how Ethereum tokens are part of the reasons why its price is drastically reducing.

MUCH of the small altcoins, like those of them are built upon ethereum and ever since its price takes a huge impact on their assets too, bitcoin is expensive and well should be at the main discussion page, ETH is the prime factor for many project's success as its price has be to tanky enough to support selling pressure every month, the trend would continue for a long time i guess

Ether is already legend, it is difficult to overestimate the contribution made by this project in the development of the crypto industry as a whole. Make no mistake, Ethereum is the most important coin with more developers working on Ethereum related projects than all other coins combined. The future of cryptocurrencies rests on Ethereums ability to be integrated into many applications much more than Bitcoins attempts to be packaged in ETF's or ripples attempts to be used by Banks.

i totally agree with you , Etherum won't die , what we have experienced regarding its decline in price was only due to rumors and whales manipulation .
Right now , over 90% of new projects are based on Etherum , that tells us this coin has the potential to grow further and occupy the second position right after bitcoin.

Ethereum is the king of altcoins. If you are not interested in Etherum - then you are not interested in cryptocurrencies and you are here solely for the sake of money. Therefore, I do not see anything surprising in the fact that most of the discussions are held on Etherum.

Not having any interest in Eth does not necessarily mean some guy is not really interested in crypto and is just in it for the money. There are many alts which is basically just the same as ETH, like EOS, NEM, and WAVES. It just so happens that eth is the progenitor of smart contracts which is why it is ubiquitous--hence, discussions with it are sometimes repetitive and becomes boring.

Its not surprising when most of the altcoins are somehow partnered with ETH as well just as BTC. If the price of ETH goes up so does the price of the tokens using the Ethereum platform. I myself is also monitoring the price of ETH not just the BTC, I guess our money depends to these two coins abov which is why we wanted to know its status from its development to the news about its team.

I think ETH is so popular here because users of this forum are basically ICO participants or bounty hunters and ICOs in common are conducted on thr ethereum blockchain, and because of this ETH is so popular here. If most ICOs move to EOS or NEO they will have the most popularity.

This might be because of what happened recently wherein ethereum was surpassed by ripple for being the 2nd top most crypto. Also, due to the negative market situation wherein the market value of ethereum fell at its worst. It's understandable that many people talking about ETH project. Because the fact is a lot of ICO project using Ethereum platform.
Personally, I also would like to see people talking about another platform like NEO and Stellar.

yes maybe for the short term this is good but no one knows the impact for the long term. too many developers who use the ethereum platform are less good.

One is honest, I think ICO is like a boomerang that can destroy ethereum. the average ICO project uses ethereum for the exchange. if ico ends, they will sell Ethereum that they earn. imagine if there are too many ICOs available, this isn't like a whale that will dump ethereum.

That's because most of the altcoin use eth smartcontract so they are going to be affected by eth price movement, it's kind of the same like when bitcoin price move then other coin price will be affect aswell. It's one of the advantages and disadvantages as we've seen in the bull market their price went up a lot following eth price increase but in the current situation if the project doesn't show any progress then their value will slowly go down.

Too many ICO's now and maybe they are the second of the most talked after Ethereum. They are even forgetting about Litecoin and other altcoin which have taken a huge part in this crypto industry.

In your logic, I do not see the answer to your question. It's not a fact that the price for Ethereum will be restored. Projects (ICO) developers sold a lot of coins, it brought down the price. By what means will it rise if ICO will soon play by other rules? I hope, that we passed the stage of chaos in this market.

I agree that ETH will not die, but because its supply is unlimited, this will make it difficult to raise prices without creating scarcity, more so when projects are mobilizing large amounts of ETH They can dump ETH prices by disposing of bulk sales.

That's true, altcoin discussion focused mainly in ETH, and mostly the token are based on Eth platform. The way I see it, Eth will bounced back again in the upcoming months and Eth won't die.

When it comes to altcoins, ethereum is much more dominant than other coins. Especially, it is generally considered on the  top potential coins on the whole market. Owning to it’s fantastic blockchain technology, it has built a fundamental trust on many people. Obviously many people in crypto’s community are much keen on ethereum. Besides, ethereum price is affordable to buy. Thus comparing to bitcoin, we partially reduce our loss when buying ethereum.  Anyway, a coin which is concerned by lots of people, definitely is much mentioned.

in my opinion it's a very good discussion about altcoins that discuss ETH. this is because ETH is stable at $ 220 continuously. where ETH has been $ 1200 and down to $ 220. I can learn about this.

Most of the altcoins discussion are about Ethereum because Ethereum is the boss of altcoins. It is the second best coins after Bitcoin. Over the last 3 years, Ethereum has been increased from $10 to $1400 in the past 3 years. Now drastically dropped from the top to bottom position without any reason. You're right! Etherium cannot just disappear. Moreover, in my opinion, Etherium is the most effective altcoin in terms of efficiency. Because of these ICO's, we all know that 95% of ICO's are running on the Ethereum Blockchain, ERC20 and people are concerned about what is happening in Ethereum price, community etc, Ethereum is like the bridge of these ICO's that's why people are talking about Ethereum everyday also there are Dapps running on Ethereum that are really a good Dapps.

I have always believed that ethereum cannot die. It might plunge, but that does not relegate it to a level at which it would die. One of the most important thing we should not allow is using others to achieve one's aim.

I believe that because in the current condition, most of the new project are created based on the Ethereum platform.

I don't know why it surprises you with the volume and the market share they handle, after all, it is the first altcoin of the market and the second best coin, or at least the most used, really ETH is a wonder, because chronologically it is not even the second or third, many coins came after or before bitcoin, but these two have been really innovative.
