Title: Does bitcoin control the market?
Post by: Rainbow009 on September 17, 2018, 12:34:18 PM
Most people believe that the price of altcoins' is determined by the price of bitcoin and that they tend to follow it's market movements.

I partially disagree with this. I have studied prices of coins and tokens on CMC and the fluctuations of each currency seems to be unique and independent of any other digital currency. Some show strong pumps when BTC goes down and some heavy dumps when BTC is rising.

Undoubtedly, there are market forces and factors which affects most currencies, this is not influenced by bitcoins price, it rather controls bitcoins' price as well as others.
So when trading or investing, make sure you treat each currency differently as they have different utilities.

for now it is possible that bitcoin is controlling the development of the crypto market because in my opinion bitcoin is a pioneer of crypto currency and of course bitcoin can be said to be a guide to the development of other cryptocurrencies

Bitcoin doesn't control markets, but... altcoins price are based on bitcoin, that's why bitcoin doesn't control them but it have some influence in them, let me explain. If one bitcoin cost $10,000 and the alts price are based on btc, then if bitcoin lose a percent of his price (lets suppose it goes down to $9k) all the alts loses his 10%, they will cost the same amount of bitcoin, but since btc goes down, when we make the conversion from the alt price to usd we will see that -10% on the cash price.

No coin affects the crypto currency market, except bitcoin.

This is the main coin, which can either send the market up or down.

It is necessary to increase the community of investors in bitcoin, which would remove the manipulation of the market

Every cryptocurrency affects the market according to their population in market. In all cryptocurrency bitcoin affects the market mostly. Its volatile nature is the main reason behind this. Bitcoin market price is high and it also accepted by many country. When one government ban bitcoin trading, investing, marketing in their country then the negative effect show in its price. Like bitcoin other cryptocurrency like Ethereum, Ripple litecoin etc also influences economy market.

We can't really say that Bitcoin controls the market but it has a huge impact on it, not only because it is the main currency for most Altcoins but also because  it is the ground and the backbone of the whole cryptocurrency world, any news that effect Bitcoin whether it is good or bad it will affect other coins, and that is totally normal because simply we are talking about the dominant currency here with almost 50% market cap.

We can't expect things to be the same all the time and hence this answers your question that Altcoins' price are not fully dependent on Bitcoin's price.
Sometimes the prices goes independently of each other and sometimes they don't. Most of the time people say that it is dependent on Bitcoin's price just because of the fact that the chart shows the price in bitcoin's pairs and since bitcoin's price goes up/down the price of altcoin also goes up/down respectively when seen in dollars.

This is the best explanation. I think the best term is not control but "affect". Btc may affect the whole market because all cryptos are based on btc price. And in the other hand, fiat like US Dollar also affect the price of btc, in some way, since btc is commonly based on us dollar.

I think the movement of bitcoin determines what happens in the market and altcoins. This could be as a result of the general use of blockchain.

Moreover, I have hardly seen the pump being sustained after like one/two weeks without crashing back when bitcoin is dropping too.

every coin in the cryptocurrency world is somehow tied to the bitcoin as it has the final reference value of every coin or token and that includes the ethereum option. directly or indirectly, the bitcoin completely controls the market from its own domain because you must change or exchange your tokens to either ethereum or finally bitcoin.

BTC is the king of the market rest of the altcoins today exists due to bitcoin. So if btc rises then other coin starts to rise and vice versa. So you will know the more or less it is btc that controls the market and based on the price movement other coins price rise or fall.

The statement that bitcoins controls alts and the market is partially true, as the entire focus has always been on bitcoins people assume this. If you have observed bitcoins and Alts prices work together, but not at the same pace as after every pump and dump bitcoins recovers fast but not alts. This very price movements suggest there're other factors involved in alts prices, bitcoins may be one of them but not entirely the main one.

Yes i agree on that and we are ecperiencing thus dip from the past. We can all see that if bitcoin fall or maybe drop down all coins inside the crypto market will also fall down, so I think coins that is on crypto market really depend on the bitcoin price. I think it is all because the bitcoin is commonly use to purchase coin and token and if the bitcoin price down there will maybe a few investors that invest on crypto market because of bitcoin price is not that big to get other coin.

In most cases, no matter how you say, but the price of altcoin moves for bitcoin! In 95% of cases, all tokens with a sharp drop in bitcoin also fly into the abyss at a rate exceeding the rate of bitcoin.
There is no mirror movement before but this does not mean that all tokens are traded at their rate. Basically, all of them on most exchanges are traded to bitcoin and Ethereum, so the dependence is visible even to the blind.

Dumps and pampas I in this case do not consider because it is a certain event that is played by one or more tokens of the same sector. So whatever you think - but Bitcoin controls everything! He's been on the market for 10 years and everyone else is after him.

Yes, in my case bitcoin control the market. As u see when bitcoin fall down, all altcoins follow the same as bitcoin. When it rise all coins rises up. Bitcoin makes a big impact in cryptocurrency as it is mother currency of all altcoins.mostly coins trades in bitcoin pairs..

Bitcoin doesn't control anything, it is not an organization or corporation. The market tends to ride on the waves that Bitcoin creates simply because it is the largest cryptocurrency by market cap. When you see changes in Bitcoin, it is automatic to assume similar trends will happen to altcoins as they're all part of the same broader market, hence when Bitcoin goes down, it inadvertently leads to altcoins dropping too due to speculation.

Obviously, no coin has a 100% correlation to BTC. That would be too easy for traders to exploit, as all altcoin markets are less liquid and more volatile than BTC. They all move independently sometimes.

A lot seems to ride on the underlying longer term trend of BTC. When Bitcoin is in a bull market like last year, altcoins alternate between positive and negative correlation with BTC. But in a crash -- and this is the important takeaway -- altcoins will fall with BTC, and they'll fall harder. Exceptions exist but they're very rare.

You only see the market moved that way but you haven't see that sometimes it is going oppositely. The time you see the scene of bitcoin pumps > alt dumps usually what happens.

But there are times that you can see it like this way.

Bitcoin pumps > alt pumps, vice versa and so on while it is randomly changing without any reason on why it happens. Probably affected by news depending on the coin that has good and bad news.

I believe that btc is the baseline of the majority of the altcoins in every btc market condition. If btc will be bullish,  most of the alts follow the trend wherein it will also go bullish but not the same percentage increase with btc. However,  few months back i did observed also that there were cases in which each of the alts and btc had independent market movement.

Bitcoin can be said to have a very large role in influencing the digital currency market. whatever happens to bitcoin will greatly affect the price movement of altcoins. so we have to really analyze bitcoin and enter the role of bitcoin when it comes to analyzing altcoins. Bitcoin will always move and we must be smart in utilizing the momentum that exists at all times.

There are other factors that affecting the market now but we don't need to worry because it is just normal, everything will go back to normal soon.

I sorry to disagree but i have observed many times that Bitcoin will always create a domino effect everytime the price will up and down. I don't know what is the main reason but this is always happening now so i think we need to help other on how we will going to pump Bitcoin steadily so that the market will become healthy one again.

Most people believe that the price of altcoins' is determined by the price of bitcoin and that they tend to follow it's market movements.

There are 4 school of thoughts here:

[1] Bitcoin goes up, Altcoins goes down
[2] Altcoins goes up, Bitcoin goes down
[3] Both market goes on a bullish trend
[4] Both market suffered, massive downtrend

I partially disagree with this. I have studied prices of coins and tokens on CMC and the fluctuations of each currency seems to be unique and independent of any other digital currency. Some show strong pumps when BTC goes down and some heavy dumps when BTC is rising.

Just look at my post above. I wouldn't save that bitcoin control the market, but it has influence the crypto market because its the dominant coin.

This is a free market, no one has total control. If you are talking about the whales, yes, they could one factors but you have to see the total picture, there are a lot of players around and then the Universal Economic Theory - Supply and Demand, which is very applicable to this market.

it is not exactly about "controlling" the market but realistically that is what happens.

the problem is that the rest of the market (being altcoins and lots of tokens) are not serious projects. they are mainly created to make money both for their creators with things such as premine and ICO, and the speculators with their pump and dumps.
the result of this is that people don't care about the altcoins in the long run since they have no usages and they still care about bitcoin and money. so they are always so fast in abandoning them for things  they care about.

Of course because bitcoin is the basis of their value, bitcoin controlling the market in the way of comparing the value of altcoin in bitcoin. But the progress of every altcoin will base on the supply and demand and how the management will pursue to make their coin more profitable of will be worthless in the long run.

Does bitcoin control the market?
No.
What controls the market is an activity carried out by market users.

Quote
Some show strong pumps when BTC goes down and some heavy dumps when BTC is rising.
That can happen when some BTC users move the assets they own together, to make purchases on coins that have increased, but that only applies if the assets that move have large enough value and vice versa.

you can understand that more clearly in the following article.

There is some sort of indirect relation between the bitcoin and altcoins. I am saying indirect because its been only when there is movement of the bitcoin upwards then altcoins are traded on larger volume for buying more bitcoin. The end result is very very simple here, bitcoin gets pumped more and altcoins ultimately starts dropping. This way we think that bitcoin movement is actually controlling the rest of the market. But this is nothing but the act of buying and selling which happens hand in hand with the two currencies and they affect each other. Thats what I get it from the current scenario.

Actually the movements in the cryptomarket are not only based or depends on bitcoin fluctuations and movements because not only bitcoin are there in the market there are a lot of different coins and tokens that we've founded there. Maybe there are some beliefs that btc are manipulating the movements in the market it maybe because it's because this coins are considered the main cypto in the market that as a big influence and impact rather than the other cypto but it's doesn't means that really bitcoin are manipulating the market because for sure the cryptomarket has it's own system that manages it's own movements.

Yeah. If bitcoin is dikes market price goes down. So people check the bitcoin price in the marketplace. The marketplace is important for all business process. So don't lose the coun and time to buy and sell it. People get the more good opportunity for business improvement. Market price is important of the all business project. If market price is down then shared market price also down.  So follow the market price then plan to work.

Looking at the daily yes certainly prices are linked to Bitcoin. But if we look for the long process, we can say this is a little variable. For example, the price of the Dogecoin rises as all the altcoins fall, depending on the price of Bitcoin. Because there is an improvement in Doge right now.

Title: Re: Does bitcoin control the market?

There is some sort of indirect relation between the bitcoin and altcoins. I am saying indirect because its been only when there is movement of the bitcoin upwards then altcoins are traded on larger volume for buying more bitcoin. The end result is very very simple here, bitcoin gets pumped more and altcoins ultimately starts dropping. This way we think that bitcoin movement is actually controlling the rest of the market. But this is nothing but the act of buying and selling which happens hand in hand with the two currencies and they affect each other. Thats what I get it from the current scenario.
Isn't it obvious? We have observed this through out history and there is nothing surprising about this at all. Bitcoin and altcoin values are indirectly related to each other where altcoin values tend to be directly proportional to Bitcoin value majority of the time.

Both altcoin and Bitcoin values are inversely proportional to each other minority of the time. There is nothing surprising about this since Bitcoin usually dominates a big portion of the market which is why altcoin values fluctuate along with it.

Same goes with altcoins because of the volatility there are two things may happen always in the market which is Increasing and decreasing value.

Virtually all crypto-currencies have a positive correlation among themselves. This means that the crypto-currency market as a whole reacts to the same factors, the general capitalization of the crypto-currency market fluctuates relative to some external factors, the crypto-currencies, in general, move synchronously. Of course, somewhere the connection between the individual currencies is higher, somewhere lower.

true but price of everything in this whole market is controlled by the way investors move their money and so far they have been moving their money towards bitcoin as a goal and that means whenever bitcoin is having a nice market for profit making they dump altcoins to come to bitcoin. so it  creates the illusion that bitcoin is controlling the market.

There are 1000's of altcoins and in the market the big piece is bitcoin's. It is very easy to say the BTC will rule and it always be.

Of course you could have increase or pump of Alts due to good news, market turnaround or other things. But if you look globally when BTC is red, others crypto are also red because it symbolize general decrease.

I would not say that bitcoin is in control. The point is simply that while there is not a single serious currency that would approach the bitcoin by capitalization ... in addition to this, bitcoin acts as the face of the whole of crypto, so if something bad or good happens to it, it has a consequence in others crypto-currencies.

in my opinion, bitcoin regulates the price of each altcoin, bitcoin at the end of 2017 reaches a value of $ 20,000, and I see other altcoins like ETH, FLXX, RiPPLE, Dash, and others following the price of bitcoin to be high.

and today when bitcoin falls, other altcoins also follow bitcoin, if you think every altcoin doesn't follow bitcoin, then I think the purchase volume will be enough to make every altcoin high and increase without bitcoin.

Correct.

But in general, all of them has the same qualities but with the pricing of each of them. They are being affected once bitcoin starts to pump and gain the dominance in the market. Meaning that most of the altcoin investors are changing their course to bitcoin which will give negative impact to the altcoins from which they came.

Bitcoin has an influence on the market due to it's large market capitalization. Bitcoin has gained the trust of about 90% of the investors in crypto. In the event of great fall in Bitcoin, these investors tend to panic and withdraw their investment from crypto and this greatly affect the entire crypto market and industry.

If we look at the crypto market during its red days, it's also noticeable that bitcoin is down and that some other cryptocurrencies almost have the same pattern of price drop as what we can see on bitcoin. So in that case, we can also say that when a group of whales decide to sell their bitcoin, we expect fluctuation of bitcoin's market cap and price and so with the alt coins and cryptomarkets too.

Do not just look at profit in short time mate. There are more thing interesting here beside that. You can be safe again with the privacy that some crypto have to offer. You can own your coins and no other can control them and yourself.
Of course more money you invest the easy for you to gain some bucks speculating the price day and night but those are the bad guys like those who used to have control in bank system.

Bitcoin is the world’s first decentralized digital currency. The ‘digital’ part is self-explanatory. The term ‘decentralized’ means that there is no central authority like the Federal Reserve in the U.S.A or The Reserve Bank in India, that is in charge of Bitcoin. There is no authority that sets the price/value of Bitcoin, production and supply rate etc, for Bitcoin.

So a question arises, How is the value of Bitcoin determined?

The value of Bitcoin is determined entirely by the forces of supply and demand. There is no 3rd party involved in a transaction (miners are different case). This is the beauty of decentralization.

More the demand, more the price/exchange rate rises, as simple as that.

Bitcoin doesn't control markets, but... altcoins price are based on bitcoin, that's why bitcoin doesn't control them but it have some influence in them, let me explain. If one bitcoin cost $10,000 and the alts price are based on btc, then if bitcoin lose a percent of his price (lets suppose it goes down to $9k) all the alts loses his 10%, they will cost the same amount of bitcoin, but since btc goes down, when we make the conversion from the alt price to usd we will see that -10% on the cash price.
no as practice shows if bitcoin sags in the price, then the altcoins also sag by the ratio to bitcoin, that is, even more than bitcoin. if in the bear market you want to store money in the crypto currency then you need to store them unambiguously in bitcoin because it falls the least. You can look at all the grids for all the years so it was in 100% of cases

But then majority are in bitcoin so there is a huge possibility that ot is really the bitcoin who controls the market. But the truth is, it is themarket who controls the bitcoin and altcoins. Because we can see that if there is small number of users we can predict the downfall of bitcoin and so as the others.

I don't actually think so,Because if the alt coins are really potential The Pump and Dump of Bitcoins doesn't affect them at all. There are many other coins which actually showed huge pump when Bitcoin is really down.Just people who are against Bit coin try to create the FUD.

Most of the coins are traded only with btc or eth.
this means wif the value of eth or btc drops the altcoins also drop in value relevant to FIAT, that it.

If you want to check some altcion values, then you should check their value against eth or btc, then you will see if the alt is dumping or no

First thing, bitcoin have a huge investment and all eyes are on here and if ever bitcoin had some correction and the fud is like a wild fire that spread, investors tend to panic and they easily dump their altcoin as they feel like they will be doom, soon. So this trend always happen that's why it was easily anticipated by others and save their selves. Bitcoin doesn't control the market yet still, altcoins depend on bitcoin's movement, whether we like it or not.

that's what really happened, because bitcoin has controlled the market. you can see in the exchange when bitcoin falls eating the altcoin will follow a deeper fall, can't you compare it?

that might happen because bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency currently available. well, instead of saying it controls prices, I think it's more suitable in influencing other altcoin prices. well, that becomes the benchmark for all the coins that are currently in bitcoin.

Oh yeah! definitely so. the ideal thing here is that people measure the survival of crypto with Bitcoin. So when Bitcoin is mooning everyone thinks the whole of crypto wil go on well and so they cane in huge, and it's thebsame vice versa. Also, it's true that every coin has its market fluctuations but the deviation is always attached to the price movements of Bitcoins. Again, the dominance of Bitcoin tells everyone how trusted people are in BTC.

The market itself controls itself, and makes any action in those moments when any coin, well proved to have grown in price, or Vice versa fell that will prevent the development of the market.

Bitcoin has a lot of influence on the cryptos market. He is the number one and the altcoins follow the trend. If the Bitcoin drops the altcoins will also drop. There will come a day when altcoins will free themselves from the influence of Bitcoin. Bitcoin will not remain the number one and altcoins will become independent.

for now it is possible that bitcoin is controlling the development of the crypto market because in my opinion bitcoin is a pioneer of crypto currency and of course bitcoin can be said to be a guide to the development of other cryptocurrencies
I agree if it is not because of bitcoin, I think other cryptocurrencies is also nothing right now. That is also why a lot of coins now are dropping its price because bitcoin is also not at a good price now, I mean, it is not like before, it drops too hard and that is also why some other coins are also dropping but as of now it has a stable amount of value and I think it is enough but not good for short investments.

Quite right, the whole market depends from bitcoin, I was already convinced of this many times, because in 99 cases out of 100 when bitcoin go down then all other alts also go down, and when bitcoin grows then everything is in the other way around, all the alts grows. I do not know until the end how this system works, but the fact remains, because bitcoin is the founder of everything.

And usually some large countries will affect the price of bitcoin if there are many large ICOs in the country. Even if a large country with a large ICO bans the ICO, it will have an impact to the bitcoin’s price. Altcoin’s price basically follows the price of bitcoin and bitcoin also requires altcoins to help increase the price.

The prices of btc and altcoins are negatively correlated when market goes down. but if the market rises... all coins increase, except few coins.

Bitcoin in the crypto world is like what the US Dollar is to the fiat currency world. The currencies are somewhat tied with the price of bitcoin. The most common pair of trading an alt coin is the bitcoin. This is one of the key reason why alt coins follow bitcoin. The price rise is not always the same. When bitcoin rises, we don't see much spike in altcoin. But when btc falls, we see a huge dip on altcoins.
Another reason is that when bitcoin starts to rise, people pull out of altcoins and starts jumping on bitcoin, thus the price rise of altcoin is significantly lower than btc.

As you said, crypto market is controlled mostly by bitcoin, when bitcoin value goes down, the most of cryptocurrencies follow it and go down to. Nowadays the bitcoin price is volatile between 6000$ and 6.8k$ which it's too low compared to the bitcoin value few months ago. I hope that bitcoin price will increase soon, so the market will be green again and we can make a profit, because I think a lot of us are holding bitcoin for the future.

I think Bitcoin is the best currency and it more or less dominates the market. However, altcoins are also very good and worth the investment. You probably have also learned about altcoins. Perhaps you will find Euthereum or Litecoins as 2 potential altcoins. Although Bitcoin is good, do not ignore the competition from the altcoins.

I don't think bitcoin controls the price of other crypto  currencies. But there are market forces that affect most coins all at the same time that one could interpret wrongly to mean bitcoin is determining prices of other coins

I don't think so. But I think bitcoin is one of the so many factors that affect the market. The truth is, bitcoin became the King of All Coins, thus, this affect other coins but the total market.

Even though Bitcoin doesn't have an exact effect on an individual altcoin, it determines trends on the market. Thus, it may behave like a catalizor or inhibitor. When deciding to trade, we have to see bitcoin as a very important indicator or anchor.

As always Bitcoin tends to be the one that controls the market most especially to Altcoins prices. I can't even see an Altcoin that continually rising while Bitcoin is falling, I mean most Altcoin are affected and are dependent to Bitcoin. I might be wrong but my observation could also be accurate. Bitcoin might not be the one that controls the market as what you and others have said but one thing is for sure of course it's the community who can't control their emotions.

in my opinion bitcoin does not control market prices, but the rise and fall of altcoin prices depends on the price of bitcoin because bitcoin is the king and he is always followed. if bitcoin can control the market I think prices continue to rise. because you see market prices falling when bitcoin is down and it's just a coincidence, sometimes they are in opposite directions.

Indeed, we should treat every coin with different approuch because every coin or token have their own functionality.

Well I wouldn't say BTC "controls" the market.

BTC is the king of cryptocurrencies and it's not going anywhere soon.

Bitcoin doesn't control the market but it influence market profits. It has a huge impact on market. In those country it is accepted in those countries it use for various things like investment, trading, marketing etc. And it is volatile currency so when its price influence it affects an country share market then this thing ultimately affects the world economy. Bitcoin is also linked with many things like many shopping sites, many companies and when its price influence then the market related to it also influences. Bitcoin mainly affects investment markets and trading market.

Bitcoin affects the market because it is the bridge between fiat money and other altcoins. When new investors come to crypto, they will buy Bitcoin firstly, so the increase in Bitcoin price refers that new money has joined the market which is good thing for overall crypto market. That happened in the last bull run, we saw Bitcoin price pumping, then altcoins, but what we see now is pure manipulation because the marketcap is just 1/4 of last December marketcap.

It is obvious that if you decide to observe the particular behavior of a cryptocurrency, a series of very specific behaviors that make it unique can be observed over time, but if we observe it in the context of market behavior over a longer period of time, we will notice that as a general rule most of the cryptos do tend to be dramatically affected by the behavior of bitcoin on a global scale. Even in the case of cryptocurrencies that at a certain time experience a large pump or dump when the price of bitcoin remains stable, once they stabilize after that highly volatile event, they tend quickly to stuck to the bitcoin behavior again.

The price of a token you see in coinmarketcap, it isn't the price you see with the USD, its price with Bitcoin. So you can't get 95% of altcoins directly with USD. First you should get Bitcoin, then get what you want with it. Accordingly, the price is directly affected.

But one thing is sure that Altcoin are only to earn more Bitcoins so it is true that Bitcoin is the main coin which controls Market. Bitcoin is still the strongest currency on the market today. However, the altcoins still show great potential for development. I agree with you. Basically, every coin has fundamental factors that could affect its price. Included in these affecting factors are their working products and how widely adopted they are, their marketing, their strong community, and so on and so forth. However, it is also true that when Bitcoin is down, there is a possibility that altcoins would also go down. It is not because Bitcoin controls them directly but because Bitcoin has a very strong influence to the market due to the fact that it is the leading coin or even the torch-bearer of crypto. If it goes down, the entire cryptocurrency body is affected to a significant extent.

While market the possible can control to it is those investors because they are the once hold lot of crypto.

every coin in the cryptocurrency world is somehow tied to the bitcoin as it has the final reference value of every coin or token and that includes the ethereum option. directly or indirectly, the bitcoin completely controls the market from its own domain because you must change or exchange your tokens to either ethereum or finally bitcoin.
What do you convey is the true existence of bitcoin pioneering cryptocurrencies? I think the growth and development of other crypto currencies is always related to bitcoin, which for now still has a high value and price.

Bitcoin is the center of the altcoin, so it's only natural that all prices follow the Bitcoin movement. I also don't understand why, but that's what happened.
Bitcoin and altcoin are different from token coins, which I know token coins follow the Altcoin movement. so don't mix between Bitcoin, Altcoin and token coins

Bitcoin is absolute, all coins are required to follow the Bitcoin movement. just that, we need to know that not all coins move together. There is a movement of coins that quickly follows the movement of Bitcoin and some are slow to follow the movement of Bitcoin, depending on the resistance of the coin.

no, I'm not sure if bitcoin controls the market, as evidenced by the current state of prices, when bitcoin prices slowly increase, there are still many altcoins that are still falling.
but in my opinion bitcoin is very influential on other coins, if bitcoin has a price decrease then usually all coins will decrease, but except for coins that are having an event it will rise even though bitcoin has a price decrease.

in my opinon now bitcoin is controling the price of altcoin, when bitcoin go down almost alcoin increase, but when the bitcoin has lost its price almost price of altcoin decrease.

but i think in the future this situation can not happen, price of each coin will depend on decision of market and the big event like ETF... So we can know what happen in future.

Of course, we can say that at this point in time, bitcoin controls the market. since its share is 50% of the total capitalization. The other altcoys have a link to bitcoin, so they are all dependent in a certain part. But recently one can see such a tendency that there are some altcoyins that even go up when the bitcoin decreases.

Bitcoin significantly affects overall situation in cryptocurrency market because it has the largest capitalization and trade turnover. If some other cryptocurrency will be able to become larger in this area, it will influence overall pricing and situation on cryptomarket.

I partially disagree with this. I have studied prices of coins and tokens on CMC and the fluctuations of each currency seems to be unique and independent of any other digital currency. Some show strong pumps when BTC goes down and some heavy dumps when BTC is rising.

I think Bitcoin is a coin that controls the Cryptocurrency market just a small number. We can see that when the value of Bitcoin is greatly reduced, the other altcoin decreases accordingly. But it is possible that the decline is not affected by Bitcoin, but rather because it bumps into something that causes the value to not increase but also to decrease, such as ETH.

Although bitcoin is the market leader, it doesn't exactly control the market. The market is in fact controlled by the big whales who have majority of supply of bitcoin and other coins.
That is what makes people hesitant about entering this market. If the whales weren't so greedy, we might have seen more people entering the market.

I would say of course bitcoin is controlling the market. The problem is, that they are so less people who own the biggest part of bitcoins. SO there are really people out there and also on this message board, you have so much bitcoin, they cant even pay out everything because it would crash the price. So these people can also controll the whole altcoin market. If they want they can pump any altcoin to the moon.

Maybe it's normal if every coin has a community in it and comes with the advantages of each especially in security breakthroughs. When one of the communities makes a purchase on one coin for example EXC, then the number of requests for EXC coins will increase and certainly only EXC coins will experience an increase in price. Perhaps it has become the stipulation of market law that the rise, and fall of each coin are determined, by supply and demand. So it's clear that the increase in the price of each coin, is not determined by bitcoin.

the thought is wrong, Bitcoin does not control the market and causes the price of other cryptocurrencies to depend on it. Bitcoin is like just a price benchmark for example BTC/ETH, BCT/LTC or others and at this time the benchmark price has begun to change, many are based on ETH, USDT, or cryptocurrencies issued by the exchange.
but there is also a crypto coin whose price is strongly influenced by Bitcoin, that is Bitcoin Cash, just pay attention

By history and records we noticed that when bitcoin is dipping all other altcoins will go in the same direction with bitcoins. It the king of all coins and  I
believe that it dictates the price of the other altcoins. Take for instance any time there is an regulation against bitcoins the market sentiments will make the market to react negatively and the price of bitcoin will dip while the other altcoins  though the regulations was not about them will also go down in price. You can observe that once bitcoin raises all of them will rise also.

Maybe in some instance, the prices of altcoins may be dependent on either Ethereum or Bitcoin because it was intended to be set into a value equal to those. So when the price sinks or rises, the price value also do. In some instance on the other hand, the uniqueness of the price came as a reaction of the buyers and sellers of the set value based on the movement of Bitcoin or Ethereum to purchase a distint token in the market so both perception are correct depending upon how you interpret it manually. It is just a technicality on comparing different cryptocurrencies.

That is why most times when the price of bitcoin comes down, other cryptocurrencies too follow suit . Bitcoin happens to be a  pioneer and the only driver for the Altcoins and it will continue like this except something is done about it. If you have been observing the market closely any time it is green just know that the price of bitcoin have gone up and once bitcoin price comes down, the whole market goes red too. I think bitcoin is having a huge impact on the money market. Bitcoins are high compared to the rest of the coin. Many investors are choosing bitcoin for long term development. When bitcoin increases or decreases it will cause the price of other coins to follow. Bitcoin is the strongest coin.

Yes, many people are still, in confusion who is controlling the market but one thing i can every coin price completely depends on the price of Bitcoin only. As you can see when the value of Bitcoin is kept changing automatically the price of all other coins changing. So in this case, the Bitcoin price is controlling the market.
because most of the altcoins prices are computed in the bitcoin price and we can easily see a dumps of alcoins price once the bitcoin price started to fall but a pumps in any alcoin will not affect the bitcoin price. Indeed, if the price of bitcoin will hit again at the all time high then we can expect a rise of the alcoins prices.

Bitcoin does not really the one who controls the crypto market but rather just one of the factors that can affect the price of the cryptocurrencies. Because if we really look at the CoinMarketCap, there are some crypto coins who have a good flow even if the price of bitcoin drops.

So far, the cryptocurrency market has become an aspect of the financial market or the real economy. Everyone knows the crypto market thanks to the bitcoin, and the rise of the btc up and down affects the market. More Bitcoin futures appear on Wall Street, and many see this as an important step in turning the hottest coin into a major asset and opening up the way for investors. Participating in the digital money market.

As much as most coins especially from the first 100 on CMC tend to follow Bitcoin trend, coins from the second 100 and lower often show different manners and can grow very much even in bear market.
There's possibility that Bitcoin can control the market because everytime the Bitcoin price increase Altcoin follow it, so it do the same when its goes down. Bitcoin have partial control but not totally because the one the have huge control of the market are the investors who have holding a big share of cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin. So I think Bitcoin will never be replace by any crypto because it has a lot changing we might encounter if there's a coin beat it.

Of course, at the moment the dominance of the bitcoin is more than 51%. BTC is the biggest actor in this market. The price action of all altcoins is depended on BTC. BTC is not directly controlling the market of course, but effect directly the market.

I think. It not. Market is controller the all project business. So market place is choose the price up and down. People check the market price. Then people will be invest. It changes the price any time. People will be check the price day by day then invest. So market price is important of the all country business.

Yes ofcourse it controls the market. Look at the market cap, look at the dominance.. It is falled down like %3 from last  2 months but it is still %52 dominance for the Bitcoin. If something bad happens to the bitcoin, i think all the markets falls and that big crush would erase everything. So bitcoin is the something else that the all altcoins..

Yes, for now, you could say that bitcoin controls at least 50% of the whole cryptocurrency market.. Being the first and most popular coin makes it a more trust worthy one and all other coins are highly dependent on the bitcoin progress.

Basically, the decline or increase in altcoin prices is influenced by market demand and availability. but I think bitcoin contributes to giving a little influence on the price of altcoins on the exchange market at certain times.

I also think that if bitcoin is weakens, why should a lot of coins follow it? Others should not have to follow the bitcoin movement, resulting in a weak bitcoin market that is not as good as other coins not following the market so that the market will be crowded and passionate.

I still hold the opinion that other cryptocurrencies depend on bitcoin. Yes, there is no obvious connection, but bitcoin is the main currency, and if it falls, then it affects altcoins to some extent.

we must know that half the role of bitcoin does indeed control the market. because the market is one of the sources that can manage bitcoin to go up and down. so we don't need to be surprised if the market situation and bitcoin are both up and down.

Yes, Bitcoin is controlling the digital market where all are directly or indirectly depends on Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the world's first crypto currency. There are many currency now and all re made after Bitcoin and also by following this. If Bitcoin price pump then other currencies also pump automatically.

Bitcoin is one of the coins that controls the market because its being used by people for both trading and exchanges on the markets. I think it controls the market because whenever there is an increase in the price of BTC altcoins too tend to increase in price.

Each crypto coin has a different market and community. We will be able to see it when one community buys coins which they like, of course there will be an increase in demand and a price increase in coins which they buy, and this will not affect any other coins including bitcoin as the first crypto.

I think bitcoin is controlling the market. Bitcoin is having a big impact on the rest of the coin. When the bitcoin price increases it will be accompanied by other coin increments. When bitcoin decreases, it will cause the market to plummet.

I agree, indeed the existence of bitcoin is very influential on the market. because in the market all developments are well underway, even though until now the market situation is also not good, but the market has tried, to develop the market.

Not the Crypto or ALT coins control the market, it is the growing investors globally, not to mention the volume of investment put in into the Crypto Market. one should note that, Market is Volatile, anything can happen at the trading market, price value may goes up and goes down, it is unpredictable.
