Today is the 10th anniversary of Bitcoin - the predicted currency that will revolutionize the global economy

Ten years ago, on a beautiful October day, a virtual currency called Bitcoin was born under the creations of Satoshi Nakamoto.
However, it was not until May 2010, when programmer Lalo Hanyecz changed 10,000 Bitcoins to get two pizza, this virtual currency was officially traded to buy things on the market.
Of course to this day, users can buy more than 2 pizza if they have 10,000 Bitcoins.

With the increase in Bitcoin, the use of this currency also increased rapidly. As of April 2011, Bitcoin's daily volume has reached $ 1 million, just over a year after two pizzas sold for 10,000 Bitcoins.
To date, the virtual currency market has grown stronger and much larger than it was 10 years ago. Even more types of virtual currency have been explored for use in different purposes.

There are over 1,000 virtual currency trading platforms in the world, including Bitcoin, Ether, DogeCoin. The peak of the virtual currency boom is January 1, 2018, when the market value estimated by CoinMarketCap.com exceeds $ 835 billion.
Concerned that the virtual currency market is deflating as well as the risks they bring, policymakers have issued restrictive regulations, even banning circulation in some markets, The market value of this virtual currency evaporates around $ 600 million from the peak.
It has been 10 years since Bitcoin was born, and it remains unclear whether virtual currencies like Bitcoin will become a new currency, a revolution in payments or a change in the global economy. Predict it or not.

On the other hand, I'd rather have a multifaceted approach to celebrating bitcoin's birthday. First a pre-celebration on Oct 31, when the whitepaper was published. And then the real celebration in January right after the new year comes in. January 3....

Bitcoin celebrates the first anniversary of his life. Congratulations to his friends, on behalf of the whole crypto community, we wish early growth and violent development !!!!

The whole idea was put together in 2008 but it wasn't mineable until 2009.  I wonder if Satoshi really thought bitcoin would reach the high values we have today or if it was just a side experiment for fun.  I would of been all over bitcoin if I heard about it back in those days but I suppose it's just bad luck.  You would of had to known the right people or come across the newsletter somehow.

Well thanks to him, we can easily transact without any problems in bank and no taxes,  ;D ;D

I still remember that in 2008 I could not develop until 2009. I wondered who Satoshi really could think that Bitcoin would achieve high marks and what I have now and I thought whether it was just a mere experiment to have fun happy happy.

very interesting, there are many things that happened after bitcoin running for 10 years, the blockchain network protocol is full of 17 million bitcoin transactions. and finally, bitcoin can reach a peak at the end of 2017.

Happy 10th anniversary day of Bitcoin. It was really unbelievable 10 years with huge success of Bitcoin. Within last 10 years we've seen lot of useful things happen by Bitcoin and I think in the future Bitcoin will become more stronger.

Satoshi indeed orchestrated a unique technology and I'm glad everyone here still is around. I mean, Bitcoin has been through a lot but in all sone people stood steadfast for this great innovation. Many people have tried to kill it but they couldn't. The technology still lives on ad i believe the next run will be a great hit for us all.

And it's coming up to my five year anniversary of being on this forum. My only regret is that I never joined it five years earlier hehe. Pretty crazy how far bitcoin has come along. I wonder if bitcoin will survive another ten or written off as a fad at some point. I'm always worried that bitcoin will trail off in popularity and become unprofitable to mine or be usurped by something else and all those calling it some sort of ponzi will feel pretty smug and self-righteous. I hope they're always wrong, though.


I think bitcoin was always an experiment. It could have failed on launch or crashed and burned, but it hasn't so far. I think in one of satoshi's posts on the forum that I remember reading he said something like he either expects bitcoin to be used by a very large amount of people or none at all -- though I'm grossly paraphrasing from hazy memory there. I'm not sure if he ever mentioned the actual value but that was probably of little concern to him at the time.

in 10 years until now bitcoin is still in a good situation, and bitcoin will remain on the path of a positive trend to become one of the best coins. now the increase in bitcoin prices is high, so the 10th anniversary of bitcoin has proven that bitcoin will still continue to exist.

Congratulations to Bitcoin, its creator and everyone else who support it. 10 years is a big achievement for Bitcoin, proof that there is a solid purpose behind the currency and a loyal community of enthusiasts which make it work and grow within time. If there weren't so many impositions from regulator parties at this moment, I believe Bitcoin would be much more stronger than we currently see.

In my opinion, Bitcoin during its existence  has not yet created any headache for banks, but a few financial experts argue that cryptoculture will violate the global financial system in the future. During its existence, the electronic coin has gone from “entertainment for geeks” to getting into the top 5 largest currencies in the world. At the same time, internal technological problems, lack of regulation, hacker attacks and mass speculation have shaken Bitcoin positions. There is stagnation in the global cryptocurrency market, and its players count the days until new growth drivers appear. So this case, when you just need to wait ;D

Yes this was a happiest moment for all of the Bitcoin uses because it crosses over 10 years it is very a good thing for cryptocurrencies but the value or not as good as the previous year but we cannot decide with this situation we can wait for some time to watch what happened next it is the right way to get into the cryptocurrency world and the value also definitely increase soon.

Today is Bitcoin's day and I want to say something about bitcoin. Yeah, no headache for banks and top 5 largest currencies but is barely really used by anyone other than store of value, really different from what the hardcore users 10 years ago expected for.

Besides that what hacker attacks? Can't remember any of them. The only problems with code that there were is asic boost which was being abused at some point, but again it wasn't a hacker attack and the recent inflation bug which was fixed before anyone abused it.

Today marks ten years ever since bitcoin was invented as a digital medium of making payments which has now taken a whole new trend with potential of the blockchain technology which can also be used for other purpose. But i must say over these ten years bitcoin has undergone several criticisms but yet still very strong in terms of its mission. We hope another ten years to come would be a success story to crown the vision of Satoshi Nakamoto whereby bitcoin would be fully accepted and used for making transactions in the world. even though I was late in knowing bitcoin, and I had lost many golden opportunities, but I was always proud, because it had become part of technological innovation.

I think this is quite a long time to implement. And although there are still some flaws in its technology, they are not so significant and fixable. Therefore, I believe in the use of cryptocurrency in everyday life.

I think that if bitcoin has been able to develop for 10 years, then nothing can stop it. It is getting stronger every year, and I believe that we can count on its global use in the future.

This is amazing , bitcoin surpass all the challenges for 10 years so it makes me believe more that bitcoin will recover and be successful again. There are some improvements that happened but im happy that bitcoin is still growing and helping other people's life.

The Machine marches forward, a great day. The community has weathered many storms and will weather many more, but I cannot help but think of the Late Jaques Fresco: He didn't have time to worry about how people would interpret his drive to make a better world, we too must be like him.
Now is the time to begin making businesses, Factories, physical locations to drive Cryptocurrency into the business cycle; this will prevent big drops, though it will require new accounting methods that we have yet to develop if we are to maintain the viability of these businesses.

Ten years of existence is a long one. Kudos to Bitcoin, kudos to Satoshi for this great innovation of our time. Bitcoin came as ease to make transaction easy between different countries and individual without the conventional bank.

I applaud your motivation and I too feel that cryptocurrencies are still in their early stages at the moment and have a long way to go. The legitimate coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, Stellar etc will survive in the long term.

The less popular coins and tokens will most likely continue to disappear over time and this will boost the popularity of the big coins even further. I am confident that crypto will go mainstream in the next 5 years.

The volatility of this market has been going down over time which is a good thing since Bitcoin will be viewed as a stable currency like FIAT and people will feel less hesitant to trade with BTC when compared to the last couple of years.

Incredible observation by some crypto enthusiasts. It is always amazing to see such  amazing facts about the world of cryptocurrency especially bitcoin. I believe this kind of occasions calls for celebration anytime the date is due. It is quite unfortunate that the publicity was really low on the day of remembrance.

Ten years of bitcoins is a good amount of time and this shows that bitcoin is real and is the future. If it was a bubble or a temporary thing, it would have been vanished by now. Bitcoin is a great invention which is life changing and it is slowly changing the payment method of the world.

Bitcoin has certainly been ground breaking, despite not being mass adopted, not yet anyway. When it was created ten years ago it was also unique whereas now we have over 2000 different crypto currencies. Obviously they can't all survive. We might just end up with one supreme crypto - whether that will be Bitcoin or not, and where it will be in another ten years time I wouldn't like to bet. I think the jury's still out.

But it's obvious at this stage the bitcoin will remain the top dog of crypto and as much as others have attempted to overtake bitcoin's position, they haven't been successful at least at this certain.

So I'm assuming that we are going to see another 10 years and might hit a lot of milestones then (probably ETF is already approved???). So let's see in 10 years time.

For being a new currency, to be honest, it is indeed difficult, if it is intended that bitcoin be used as a legitimate payment instrument and recognized by every country and even being a virtual currency that can replace the function of fiat currency, I guess that is very difficult.

However, bitcoin will be an excuse that everyone will use a virtual currency like E-money to be used for daily life on the grounds that the use of E-money is very practical and safe to use compared to money paper. Nonetheless, it can make bitcoin known by many people, everyone will get used to the virtual currency so as the concept of bitcoin can be easily accepted/be understood by everyone, compared to today everyone still does not believe in virtual currency or digital currency.

Bitcoin did very well in the past 10 years , its nice to see that bitcoin still recover despite of price falldown. Its been 10 years and bitcoin is still here helping us to earn huge profit by investing. You can literally see the improvements every year! Bitcoin deserves to be accepted by different countries. In the next 10 years , I hope bitcoin will become more progressive and be adapted by different countries.

bitcoin age i think more than 10 years. As i remember that in the first time bitcoin launch (even after the third years) no body knows or even care about bitcoin (well known as cryptocurrency). We understand this situation because they don't believed about cryptocurrency and the impact is the bitcoin price was very cheap.
As time goes by people wonder to know about bitcoin (cryptocurrency) and the impact of it the value price increased and booming about 2015 to 2016, the bitcoin price more that 21,000 - 22,000 USD. But we realized all currency is unstable even cryptocurrency, the impact is bitcoin price nowadays is in the low price, but i keep optimist that the price will raise again.

I think Bitcoin is very important for people who are innovative and needed by everyone who lives comfortably and modernly but the price of bitcoin is very easy to change in a short time. and money laundering by criminals. This must be a solution so that everyone can use Bitcoin very calmly and effectively.

I believe that even after another 10 years, there is no crypto that can replace Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the world's first crypto and the consensus has been deeply rooted. Any subsequent crypto can't replace people's solid belief in Bitcoin, this is not about technology, but about faith.
