Title: What if there is a natural disaster, such as an earthquake?
Post by: maculeth on October 05, 2018, 01:46:05 AM
we know if a country experiences a natural disaster, the economy will be temporarily paralyzed. because of the many damaged road access and also damaged buildings which caused the economic collapse and of course that made the country's economy go down. my question is, does it have a big effect on crypto state? we know that there is no need for a way to go, and a wide place for incapacity. but when a disaster occurs, it is likely that the signal will be lost and difficult to access. and if the recovery process takes place long after the disaster, how is the condition of Kripro that might occur?

I will be very happy with your opinion

Signals may be loss but Earthquakes usually occurs in a specific area with different intensity at some point depending if you're near a fault line or the focus of the earthquake but as long as you're far away from it then you're fine and I think that it won't affect the crypto value but deflation may occur and it will also affect the economic growth of the country.

disasters and natural calamitirs occur unexpectedly, during this time, everything is in ruin, including internet connection, there is no way we can do something about it, unless you go mobile data, im sure that there are service provider that us not affected by a disaster, being digital has its pros and cons, but that is good about being an internet-based platforms, if banks fails, we can still go mobile data, and transact internationally, but in terms of purchasing from physical stores, that is gonna be a problem, maybe that is why bitcoin cannot deeply penetrate the mainstream mode of payment. that is why fiat is still needed alongside cryptos.

It will be the same as credit cards, unusable for a while.
However, assuming the infrastructure is damaged severely beyond repair, we can still have a blockchain approach based on mesh networks that's more segmented. The same idea for LN can be used to enable local use if the population decided to still value it and we had someway to keep our devices powered.

how is the condition of Kripro crypto that might occur?

Do you mean crypto ?

I am sure this will affect the crypto but only for troubled area and not the whole world. The earthquake disaster is always there but its not gonna happen all over the globe at the same time. Well we will loose control over the crypto currency for that specific period for sure. Because in that particular region the electricity will be shunt and thus there wont be any access to digital world. These people wont be able to withdraw any currencies and either they will be able to trade it due irregular working of lets say banking system.

If you talking about the global earthquake disaster (which sounds global extinction) lolz, then surely there wont be any value for crypto world, because then living will be the primary focus.

But were the destruction affects mining, internet connectivity, then it will be a problem.

Due to the damage done to communications in earthquake affected region, not only Crypto will be unusable, but also credit cards as well. Although this situation is temporary and all infrastructure will be restored sooner or later, people will have to resort to cash for time being. Thus it seems that the most efficient way to manage your funds in the modern world, especially in regions prone to natural disasters, is to divide funds between these pools: cash in case of emergency, Crypto and/or credit card depending on personal preference and Crypto adoption rate in the country.

The impact of natural disasters on cryptocurrencies is very small. You don't have to worry about this at all. But unless it is an asteroid that collides with the Earth... this will definitely affect the world...

Earthquake can makes internet connection paralyse because all of facilities will destroy but if your questions for crypto market i think it will have not an effect but indeed for those who have bitcoin in the middle of disaster will not able to access their online wallet because the cause i was mentioned above

We really cannot control or stop this kind of thng because this is the nature. But we can do some ways to eliminate the bad effects. Let us just prepare and besides it will only hit a part of this country and not all over the country. Maybe you will be affected in crypto but there are so many other people out there who are also involved in crypto. Meaning we are not really a loss to it.

As you rightly said in your submission above disaster on a country always affect the economic activities of of the country no doubt, and that will equally affect Bitcoin and crypto currency in general but not too big as you expect except if the country in question has dominance in Bitcoin and crypto currency in general only then, the effect will be much on the crypto currency market.

Most natural disasters are isolated so it'll struggle to have much influence on a global scale but if there were some global disaster you'd think that the price would fall greatly. After a disaster material goods and currency become relatively worthless and essentials such as food and water are what are most sought after. People would have to trade a lot more bitcoin/crypto than previously for some of these goods.

The effects of a disaster may vary. It all depends on how much the country in which the cataclysm took place is developed industrially, technologically sically and financially. For example, Japan regularly suffers from tsunamis and other similar phenomena, and the country's economy remains at the same high level. And if the cataclysm occurs in any country of the “third world”, where corruption is above all other indicators, the consequences for the economy of this country will be the worst.

In the event of a large-scale disaster, the mobile network is in a phase of collapse!
Only water, food, and medicine have substantial meaning!
The cryptocurrency does not have any practical application in the event of a large-scale disaster!

If the will be a natural disaster, this will not create a big impact to cryptocurrency. Usually, earthquakes only occurs on a certain area and not to the whole country. There are immediate response or help from the government and communication signals are the most priority. With that said, I might say that national disasters only brings an impact to cryptocurrency for less than 1%.

I am sure it will affect but not affect too much. Because assets like land and houses and other items will be lost, the economy of a country will collapse. That would also make Crypto's price suffer but it is a good influence. After a disaster, they knew something very useful to hold.

An earthquake will only affect a small part of the world.  The bigger concern is an asteroid hitting the earth.  Then there will be no economy because we will all be dead. :-\

Hopefully with future technology we will be able to negate the trajectory of incoming space objects.

Not only earthquakes may occur in a specific country when it comes to a natural disaster, there are hurricanes, typhoon and tsunami that recently hit Indonesia wherein all of them may cause from slight to a paralytic effect in an economy. Most of the time if I have to picture out here in my country, power outage and signals are affected  and I think trading of cryptocurrency during that time could be that hard most especially if the government has to issue a state of calamity in some affected areas. The only advantages of having cryptocurrency funds is that as long as we have the private keys all of it are safe even if phones and computers are broken due to the disaster unlike possesion of fiat and precious metals that we cannot guarantee it's safety during that time.

I believe this is not a big problem at all since other country also give donations and it is very big as like that. The damages can be fix and no economy down id all the Leaders of that Country will never corrupt anything from donations and just spend all of the money for the country. Period. In crypto world thats not issue.

Crypto is not working on single country, like each country has their own fiat currency but Crypto currency is single to whole world and from anywhere you can access. So if a country has natural disaster, that country's economy will be disturbed and crypto currency will get affected to that particular country. Ya but if that country is mainly operating on crypto currency then their may be some affect to the crypto currency.

Yes, there possibility of lost internet network and economy break in the country where natural disaster happened but it will only affected the cryptocurrency user in such country and it won't have big effect on crypto state. However, if some of the top cryptocurrency exchange were involve in the disaster, there is chance for the disaster to have big impact on crypto state.

I think natural disasters do not affect crypto, because natural disasters no one knows will come, but that does not affect crypto prices.

Of course the economy will be destroyed in the event of a disaster in certain countries, because everything is destroyed, of course they will need assistance channels from several countries to meet the needs of the disaster site.

Crypto will continue to run in accordance with the procedures that are running to date.

At least one country that has a lot of crypto income may be able to channel aid to countries that suffer from disasters.

Its gonna be a isolated case, earthquakes doesn't affect a big area, just the place where the earthquakes occurs (its epicenter) so the condition of crypto will still be there regardless.

As you can see on the list, of the 12 largest earthquakes ever recorded, just a few and isolated countries or nation will just suffer, and crypto will still thrive on other places.

Natural disasters don`t influence economy that much, there were no cases of economies ruined by cataclysms.

Internet connectivity will be affected definitely if an earthquake occurs because network providers will loose their equipment. Unless it does not happen around the facilities. Crypto life depends on the internet. Anything that affects network transmission also will affect Cryptos.

Crypto is just the money, the economy would suffer the same way if the currency used on that country is fiat or Bitcoin. The roads will be damaged, preventing supplies to reach different places and also affecting exportation. You might have Bitcoin and internet access, but what will you be able to buy with this without disponible supplies at the stores (or without even stores)?

During crisis times like this money isn't very useful...

Well directly I don't think natural disaster will have great effect on the natural nature on bitcoin or the other cryptocurrencies due to the fact that it does not exist on a physical form so at that is can not be destroyed by earthquake and the rest. But the fact still remains that since cryptocurrency depends on the activities of people in other to flourish it market is important to note that what ever can affects the financial well being of the people will have negative effects on the cryptocurrency market.

Think about the rest of the country. Imagine what would happen if an earthquake occured close to one of the biggest national mining farm which secures the national cryptocurrency. It would take some time before the mining difficulty adjusted. Transaction fees would become enormous and the time between each block would be too long to provide instant transactions (this doesn't apply to the Lightning Network on Bitcoin which works independently after funds are locked up in a channel successfully). It is government's duty to provide food supplies at such time.

It might affect the users because if there was an earthquake, then powerlines may be cut. Depending on the intensity of the earthquake, and depending on if a person lives within or near the fault line, houses could be destroyed during the quake, so obviously it will be hard to access their coins. However, imagine if we could use the blockchain technology to send donations to the victims of any natural disasters. I think it will be good for the industry, right?

Natural calamities or disasters doesnt really have an effect on the course run of the crypto market, it wont affect the prices of it or the project itself. Although in that affected area, the signals and internet connection will lost but that will only be the problem in that area, it wont generalized all in the crypto world.

If a natural disaster, such as an earthquake, affected only one, or even several countries, it will not seriously affect the cryptocurrency and its price in these countries. The consequences of earthquakes are eliminated fairly quickly, international organizations help and everything quickly returns to normal. Only if the consequences of such a disaster are not eliminated for a long time and led to inflation, the demand for cryptocurrency in the disaster zone may increase and it will increase in price.

Having a disaster can affect crypto. Example: When a disaster happens, Every individual will focus to their lives, love ones etc. rather than anything.
Also when an earthquake happens, Electricity will not function and internet and other crypto related in the given location. Example : Location A is a bitcoin mining site, and an earthquake happened there. It may stop functioning , destruction of hardware. And ya know what will happen next

Yes, natural disaster has a little impact to a crypto currency since we know that crypto currency is a decentralized system
that its mode of transaction is a peer to peer system on the blockchain, unless the scope of a disaster is affected globally or there
is a worldwide tragedy, but I think if that will happen its already the end of the world and no one make an escape of that.

If the disaster is not a world wide disaster than I don't think it will have much impact on the prices of crypto currencies. Now lets see what the situation will be if a disaster happens on a specific country. The economy might fall. They might start using bitcoin not as a currency but a storage value to secure their funds and assets. Using them as a currency would be not possible since there might be time to time power outage or the internet might not be stable. Again, most merchants don't accept bitcoin as a form of payment.

I will be very happy with your opinion

Hey whenever a country witness earthquakes the effected area is partially disconnected from the world, so yes we may see little impact on cryptos, however that'll be only be felt in the effected area. It'll be due to the after reactions of earthquakes which may partially block internet services, and hence they won't be able to deal in it, some may even loose their wallets and their coins.

Also lastly during such a major disaster worrying about crypto would be the last thing on a person's mind.

Natural disasters won't give an effect toward cryptocurrency, moreover if occurs to the country that was extraneous with the utilization of cryptocurrency. Natural disasters only affect in the direction of access if there are someone wants to see the situation of their assets for a trader mainly, like what you said the signal condition will die for a while before any improvement by the government.

I'm just a little weird when something that was happened in this world so many people will hook it with cryptocurrency circumstances. Even though everything that has happened doesn't always have to do with cryptocurrency, especially in the matter of price. Might some people think cryptocurrency functions are very broad and can be used anything. However, in the incident of a natural disaster will have little role for cryptocurrency, for instance, can use a means of sending money for some countries to make donations, and this method will be faster than other tools.

Good point, natural disaster can affect country that has been penetrated and not the entire chain, in majority it wont affect the market not unless it's
happening all over the world, hopefully it will not, crytpo is another alternative ways whcih can be more helpful if the system will be adopted as it can
be a more quicker way to send help for those who are affected of a natural calamity.

I get what you are pointing about but for me the answer is NO? Calamities only caused infrastructure damage and decline/delay on the economic growth not greatly affect the crypto market simply because it's a whole different thing, not also including the fact that whole countries around the globe embrace blockchain technology. If you say that all crypto investors dump their coin at once then that is the time when the market will be damage.

Relax, earthquakes scenarios are isolated cases. No need to worry about when it comes to crypto world ;D.
how is the condition of Kripro that might occur?
What do you mean by Kripro? I'm clueless about it to be honest.

Well, unusable for sure for a while, but nothing will change in the long run as you will still be able to access them anyway once you are able to get hold of an internet. In cases like this, usually, a lot of things and activities get halted which generally affects that economy and getting out of it sometimes can be very tough.

But I do not see how this would generally affect cryptocurrency negatively since it is a globally used digital currency and a disaster in a place will only lead to very few people not being able to access their cryptocurrencies, that is all but eventually, this is not going to be forever, unless maybe they lost their private key in a collapsed building though.

But this is independent of the currency that is used, so I do not see any effects on bitcoins.

if you want to know the impact of a disaster on the price of BTC, there might be very little impact that feels not even at all, depending on where the disaster occurs, if the disaster occurs in an area that does not have an average economic impact and has no connection whatsoever altogether with BTC, it can be said that disasters will have no impact on btc or crypto, even to have an impact on the price of the index, the stock price in the country where the disaster occurred will be very small and not even felt at all

Depends on the intensity and location of the quake. Sometimes only a single quake turn cities into scrap. If it hits a hub of crypto city it can badly affect Bitcoin as well as the rest of crypto in the market. If a place where there is no access to technology for a common man would have no effect compared to any city of USA or UK.

Natural disasters happen more and more in countries due to climate change, which will have very serious consequences for people but I believe it will not affect cryptocurrency. Because cryptocurrency is not affected by geography, space, and time, it is not affected by weather or natural disasters.

At least, one thing I am sure of and certain is that unless there is an Armageddon, earthquake or a natural disaster cannot open in the whole world at the same time as it is usually subjected to one region and since cryptocurrency is a global thing, I do not see a way a natural disaster in a place would globally affect the cryptocurrency market.

Fiat is subject to the country in question and sure a lot of buildings being destroyed, people losing their lives, jobs being less, and activity being stalled economically can affect a lot but I do not see how that would have anything to do with the state of cryptocurrency. When it comes to availability of buyer and seller then there will be no differences between fiats and cryptos, you cannot transact when another end is not ready to transact with you. This is one example how a natural disaster may impact cryptos.

Bitcoin is a global thing, it is not local, which means if there is a natural disaster somewhere than it wouldn't change much on bitcoin since everywhere else in the world bitcoin would continue. Think about it like torrent videos and movies you download, if one seed/leech gets away than others pick it up, there is no way it would be affected by any natural disaster since its just one part of a whole thing.

Natural disasters in a mining heavy area might affect the hash rate for a while tho, which is really the only way it could affect bitcoin at all, aside from that there is really no way bitcoin could be affected by a local disaster.

The reason why the economy of a particular country may suffer after a natural disaster is because their centralized institutions, but bitcoin is completely different, bitcoin is a global currency that can be used in any country of the world, so if a natural disaster happens in a country bitcoin is going to be unaffected by it, the only way in which a natural disaster can affect bitcoin at all is that the disaster is global in its scale.

And there are very few disasters that can affect the world as a whole and if that were to happen it is very likely that the last thing that is going to worry you is that bitcoin is affected or not, at that point you will be worried about getting supplies like food and water to survive.

I agree. There is a specific place and faults are the one affected by the disaster. It cannot affect other countries as long as there is internet connection to access bitcoin. As long as as the power source and signals are not affected it will be fine. But in other areas it is normal as usual, so I don't think it has an effect on cryptocurrency, because crypto has entered the whole world and even reached the village,
So against natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods etc, crypto as usual.

Even small technical faults can deteriorate the system and may force you to live in a world with no online links. This is how things operate and if the signal transmitting body is not working due to any reason, of course there is no other way but to fix it. The internet waver are not like the radio waves which can travel long boundaries.

If a natural disaster such as an earthquake occurs, the cryptocurrency will not help. All networks will be destroyed, and cryptocurrency without the Internet does not work.

we know if a country experiences a natural disaster, the economy will be temporarily paralyzed. because of the many damaged road access and also damaged buildings which caused the economic collapse and of course that made the country's economy go down. my question is, does it have a big effect on crypto state? we know that there is no need for a way to go, and a wide place for incapacity. but when a disaster occurs, it is likely that the signal will be lost and difficult to access. and if the recovery process takes place long after the disaster, how is the condition of Kripro that might occur?

I will be very happy with your opinion

I think if some disaster will come in our country. well, I do not have no choice but to stop for a while my works here because there has a possibility that the signal and satellite will ne destroy. Even though I stop for a while doing works in bitcointalk I know that my bitcoin will be stocks in my wallet and it will not be vanish after I come back. However, hopefully it will not come to the point that it will be happen in the future.

I think it depends on the country where the problems occur in the economy. Such countries as America, China, Japan, Korea with their news background can influence the state of the cryptocurrency market.

If a natural disaster might happen then everything will be ruin such as the economy, internet, properties, and so on.

In the event of a natural disaster such as an earthquake, and until it causes a break in electricity and causes a loss of internet signals, of course this will stop all Cryptocurrency activities. Because Cryptocurrency can only be accessed with the internet, and if for example this goes on for a long time, it is certain that the development of Cryptocurrency will falter. and the new foam will run again if there is an internet signal.

However an earthquake is a very local event, it only affects a region of a country or if the country is small it affects all the country but it cannot affect the whole world, so even if the local population is unable to access its bitcoin after the earthquake the rest of the world can still use the bitcoin network, also after an earthquake there is a failure of many services but those services begin to get to reestablished and as soon as you have electricity and Internet you can use bitcoin once again.

So at worst if you go through an earthquake you will not have access to your bitcoin for a few days or weeks, however if you can get to a zone in which you have access to those services the bitcoin network will be fine and it's completely unaffected by such a natural disaster.

Natural disasters such as earthquake i think it won't affect the market price because that only has an occur place. That is just like banning cryptocurrency in the country of China, but still, the price was in stable movement. Probably having a slight effect but not totally caused by the natural disaster. Besides, if disasters will happen they can easily recover their lost money.

Only thing is their money will be safety in their wallet. If you have money ,it may be lost in earthquake. But the money of cryptocurrency holder will be safe. You can login your wallet with your mail and get back your money after disaster.

Main object is "internet". If there is a natural disaster, i do not think there will be a huge issue with internet. We have network providers who think alternative results. They will certainly make things work faster within few days of natural disaster. And in the history never it happened that the natural calamities did affect the whole world at once. I if this happens then yes, need to have a support plan. But as only few places would be affected and other places would still support crypto.

I don’t think earthquake can affect the economy of a country as a whole… no, I don’t think that’s possible. It can only affect the economy of that city where it occurred, why? Because they will start focusing more on reconstruction rather than development, so every money that is coming into that city will all go for that. And if you also had in mind that it will affect Bitcoin then you will be wrong cause that’s even the least that is ever going to happen.

I don't think there's any relation between nature cases and crypt currency. Natural disasters can only effect on country where everything ruined government take action and spend there time to recover everything.

It does not directly influence the market but it will affect the users who get the disaster. depending on the total number of users in
that area. if the earthquake area covers more than 10% of bitcoin users. of course at least it will have an effect on the market

Will my opinion about this thats once a state, become affected in some disaster or natural calamities like earthquake and all economic investment  been collapsed,i thinks the crypto industry also been affected  because it cannot  make an trading transaction into the blockchain because everything would busy to repair all the infrastracture affected by calamities  like internet connection and electricity damage, because crypto been run with this two major necessity of the affected country.

Not much of an effect on the market. But once they can have access to it, it would make a difference because everyone will withdraw their investments.

I do not think that a local disaster, such as an earthquake, could significantly affect the cryptocurrency in this region. Usually, an earthquake occurs quickly and does not last long, perhaps even some tremors for several days. If the state is not able to quickly eliminate the consequences of an earthquake, it is assisted by various international organizations. Most likely, during the disaster period, the Internet will be unavailable, and therefore no one will be able to use the cryptocurrency. Then, in the disaster zone, it may rise in price for some time, there is no doubt about that. However, this will not last long.

Maybe if we don't have a connection to the market, then we cannot use cryptocurrency, and we cannot buy and sell the crypto. I think this could be related especially if all of the infrastructures is damage because we cannot get accessed to use anything. Different with fiat money value when eartquake or dissaster happen in a country, i think crypto will not affecting. Fiat money or government currency affecting on dissaster because its national economy and crypto is not a national currency and traded globally
In my opinion cryptocurrency will not affect by natural disasters because earthquake or other natural calamity will be in an country or in a continent but crypto will be the world currency. No doubt that the activities in cryptos will be reduced from the effected people, but this situation will not continue for long and soon they will return to normal.

If a signal is lost then crypto currency will not move since no one in that part if the world can get access to their crypto currency so they're technically holding their coins. But once it is back people will start dumping their money to recover from the disaster, but if the disaster is not global it won't make much of a difference to the whole crypto currency world.

Moreover, earthquake or a natural disaster will not occur in every part of a country at the same time, even though it would felt in the surrounding, and this may just be something that would affect some few parts.
However, we have seen some disasters though that really spread hugely most especially with the likes of Tsunami, but all the same, I believe as long as people would still have access to their private keys, their wallet details or wherever they stored their things, it would always be easy to come back to even if some infrastructures were affected in this case and some times, natural disaster happens all of a sudden, as they don't come knocking and that can make someone less prepared to even take into account some of their belongings, let alone their assets.

Exactly! But we also have to understand that natural disasters sometimes can affect a lot of things when it comes to finally accessing your stuffs just in case you do not end up dead. The thing here is that for those who go the cold storage way, it may be hard to even no end up losing some of their stuffs or wherever they kept some details, because losses are usually the main thing that happens with natural disaster.

Generally, like you have said, as long as they could still have access to it, then, as long as they are alive, they can always come back to get their things, but we all know most people may find it hard to have access to their details.

I agree. There is a specific place and faults are the one affected by the disaster. It cannot affect other countries as long as there is internet connection to access bitcoin. Nothing to be scared that we lost access on bitcoin because it will still there even long time we cannot open to transact as long as we have the key.
Nothing would happen to cryptocurrency. Signals will lose only in the country where nature shows its power, but not all over the world and when the whole world is affected by natural disasters that will be the end of the world. Then nobody will think of cryptocurrency of making money. They will try to save their lives and their loved ones as well and it is a fact.

Exactly, what it's going to happen at that point is that the people that are unable to access their coins because they do not have access to electricity or the Internet are going to be forced to hold their coins for the time being, but unless the natural disaster was so great that the country was left devastated the chances that you are going to be able to access your wallet in a few days or weeks are very high so I will not be very worried about a disaster of such a scale.

What people need to be worried is about trying to find enough food and water to survive during those days, this is why even if bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are a great idea you still need to have some cash around just in case something like that happens and you cannot use bitcoin or fiat in digital form.

I think if natural disasters such as earthquakes occur in densely populated areas, facilities such as vehicles, internet signals and others will be quickly damaged. So if there is a Crypto center there will definitely not function properly due to electrical constraints and the signal will disappear. So I suggest moving to an area or city that does not experience an earthquake.

we know if a country experiences a natural disaster, the economy will be temporarily paralyzed. because of the many damaged road access and also damaged buildings which caused the economic collapse and of course that made the country's economy go down. my question is, does it have a big effect on crypto state? we know that there is no need for a way to go, and a wide place for incapacity. but when a disaster occurs, it is likely that the signal will be lost and difficult to access. and if the recovery process takes place long after the disaster, how is the condition of Kripro that might occur?

I will be very happy with your opinion
If there is an earthquake in a particular state of a country, the country won’t be affected as a whole, its only the state that it took place that would be affected because they will go back to repairing things that were damaged by the earthquake just like roads. Luckily Bitcoin doesn’t have any sort of connection with all these, it’s something on its own and no country’s economy affects it.

I don't think natural disaster like earthquake can impact on market or decrease the cryptocurrencies. Because earth quacks can only occurs on some countries with certain area where bitcoin is world wide and there's no relation between nature disaster and bitcoins.

Well, in that case if earthquake occur it will be a disaster for all of us but cyrpto still conitnue to the other side of the country. Don't worry the connection is temporarily stop but it takes time to rebuild the place and you need to have patient.
Be a disaster for all of us? How? Earthquake can obviously not happen in all the parts of the globe or imagining something like a Tsunami, or Volcanic eruption and some other natural disasters just hitting everywhere in the world nonstop and in that case I would just imagine life is trying to wipe itself clean as well as those who are in it, but this is something I do not see happening.

It would not have any effect in cryptocurrency, worst part is that some may die in the process and the control of their account dies with them, but do not forget that people are dying naturally everyday with no one having an access to what they even have.

It will not affect since it will stay on online transactions, what will happen just if those who get affected will withdraw all their assets on it. It will affect on the market as dump and pump.

I think natural disasters will not have a major effect on crypto conditions. Indeed, the signal will be lost and difficult to access but that is only for a short time. I am sure this will not last for days, not even more than two days. Crypto is used by all people in the world in several countries. So if natural disasters occur, this will have no effect on crypto, including crypto prices. Natural disasters may affect the economic development of countries that experience this, but not with Crypto. Because I don't think crypto is related to any country so that if natural disasters occur, this will not have a major effect on crypto conditions.

Natural disaster is bound to happen someday, It will have an effect on the cryptocurrency space, but  sure it will be for a while, when the country settle back, you can be sure to access your wallet, that is if private keys and password is properly secure, I hope we will get to a level where we can insure our wallet/token in order to guard against unavoidable loss.
Doomsday announcer alert! Come on mate! You made it sound like you know what will happen tomorrow and the fact that natural disaster will just hit every part of the world. If I am correct, you are imagining some Armageddon kind of scenario and in that case, you would not even be thinking of what you are even holding in your wallet at that moment as it becomes useless once you are gone and once everyone is gone.

However, this is something that I do not actually see the possibility of seeing a natural disaster happen in all parts of the world. Nonetheless, if this is something that gets to hit just one small part of the world, as long as you have your life and you have a full control of your wallet, you can always access it in the long run.

Main object here is the internet. If there is a natural disaster, I do not think there will be a big  issue with internet availability. We have network providers who think of alternative results. They will surely take thinks alternative results. They will certainly make stuffs work faster with in few days of natural disaster. And in the history never it happened that the natural calamities did not affect the whole world. If this takes places then yes, there needs to be a support plan. But as only few places would be affected and other places would still be supported

Signals may be loss but Earthquakes usually occurs in a specific area with different intensity at some point depending if you're near a fault line or the focus of the earthquake but as long as you're far away from it then you're fine and I think that it won't affect the crypto value but deflation may occur and it will also affect the economic growth of the country.
it has become a risk in technology to stop total technology, not just cryptocurrency, I think because technological progress depends on infrastructure and supporting facilities

I also think it will have a great effect because investors might be pulling out their invested money for a real purpose of purchasing survival stuffs since on that scenario, all or almost all the establishments that cater cashless transaction might be all down so a demand for physical money will be an appropriate thing to have and that was what I am thinking a wise man will do to practically survive.

Blockchain or record would still remain and cant be wiped out since theres no electricity globally then there would be no transaction so it would be good as dead but when resources comes back then it would goes back to normal.

This is what we are facing right now, several natural disasters that is continuously hitting our Country...and its not just an Earthquake alone, we are dealing with super typhoons a week ago and severe floods in different areas here in the Philippines. This is really devastating to deal with this natural disasters in the midst of Pandemic. Lately, our economy has begun to open up and now fell down again because of this unexpected calamities that occurred here. Sad to say, but my country was really struggling and badly needs more help and prayers.
And because of this natural Disasters, the power and signal had been shutdown to some affected areas and we are really having a hard time to connect with the internet and access the world of Crypto. I can say that it has a big impact on a personal way, like accessing Bitcoins and the other Crypto tasks because we cant go online with the absence of electricity and internet signal. However, I believe that it couldn't affect the crypto market as a whole as the others have already said here. The whole market will not be shaken because it didn't happened globally.

If the disaster like an earthquake occurred, cryptocurrencies on that affected areas will also be collapsed temporarily, due to no internet connection will be made, which it is a primary needed when doing any crypto activities. It doesn't mean that,it can be caused of a bad effects on  crypto market movement.
It all depends on where the natural disaster occurred, because such an event affecting one of the world's financial or industrial centers seems to have a possible impact on the market, at least due to a chain reaction. And it is difficult to say what specific impact this will have and whether it will result in a fall or a rise in the exchange rate price, because previous events gave different results. The planet Earth is huge in size and natural disasters occur regularly and of course not all of them have an impact on the market.

Of course there is but if such fortuitous event happens, cryptocurrencies would be the least of my problems.

Any calamity that affects the country as a whole has a detrimental effect on the economy as a whole. Businesses are down, services are unavailable and unemployment rates would rise. The government needs to have a solution in order to counter and outweigh the negative effects. In the same essence, cryptocurrencies would also decrease on its value due to the fact that people have the fear of spending their money on investments.

Losing access to electricity and the internet is usually the first thing that is going to happen during a natural disaster. The recovery process might take month, if there is no real support system in place. For example, if an remote area is hit by an earthquake, like with Nepal a few years ago, then there is no real chance of getting help in that area by car or trucks. Once the few available roads are damaged than the only real access chance is by air. And with only a few helicopters available, it takes a very long time to help the people in need.

Not only where did the disaster occur but also how big it happened, we know that disasters often occur, earthquakes hit several countries with the center of the financial industry, but it doesn't have a significant impact on bitcoin prices, but if we talk about how big the impact is.  It is more likely that it will cause the price of bitcoin to waver.  This is because so many public facilities are damaged making Bitcoin transactions difficult to carry out so that the liquidity of crypto becomes doubtful when a disaster occurs, there is no physical asset for this, and many people will soon sell it.

Even though the person affected by the natural disaster is a crypto user and even though he hasn't accessed the crypto market for a while, it won't have any effect on him because I think when a natural disaster occurs they only need something really needed like warm clothes, food and internet access or signal is not something to be prioritized.

Since they have no mobile receptions or electricity in general. that just means they can't just do some tradings or sell their holdings which is why it can't affect the price and even though they can, I think it still depends on the country.

A natural disaster like an earthquake can hamper a country's economy for a period. It depends on its size and power because a big earthquake can destroy an area. So it includes in the national economy. If natural disasters occur then no way to prevent that. Then govt should take the step to rescue the area soon. And everyone we will try to move on in their normal life.

The good thing is that when these natural disasters occur, everything returns to calm and little by little begins to re-establish communications and the internet. I think he does not affect crypto although I read recently that miners based in China after the recent rains. They were able to reactivate their activities by helping Meempool clean up all the transactions that were to be processed.

Natural disasters are something we cannot predict, and usually result in blackouts and disruption of the internet network.
Then the recovery process depends on how much damage was caused by the natural disaster, if the condition of the damage is
severe it usually takes up to a month to recover. But it will not have an effect on the price of cryptocurrency, because natural
disasters usually do not affect all regions.

If there is a natural disaster like an earthquake it will depend on nature but it has no effect on crypto will also rise based on demand epidemics like the corona virus have had effect on crypto if the economy is damaged by natural disasters fiat will lose currency. Natural disasters damage homes and crops and also damage the internet connection due to electrical damage it has effect on crypto demand is rising and prices are rising due to higher investment earthquakes and natural disasters can do no harm to crypto.

We can't never escape natural disaster it's unpredictable sometimes, of course it will affect crypto but only in the areas where the disaster hits, and not to the entire crypto space. Usually it's temporary, whatever damages may occur people always find a way to fix it and bringing up solution to the problem.

I will be very happy with your opinion
It will have an impact if the disaster is of international in nature but if it is on one place only it will not have an impact at all, like the pandemic where the nature is international in scope, if it happens in one region only it will not have overall impact in the market, because the Cryptocurrency market is worldwide in nature.

What do you mean by cryptos affecting only those areas?

Doesn't mean that the price went down in our country, it doesn't mean that it will drop in other countries as well, is that what you're saying? It doesn't work like that, and I don't think it would be a huge impact on the price of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies unless that country has a lot of investors that sold at the same time.

I would totally freak out if disaster is coming in my way. Like what happened in the Cagayan valley in the northern part of the Philippines, and also the Bicol region where there is no electricity and cell tower sites are being squashed that only provides no to limited internet connection due to typhoon Ulysses. If I were in that situation with no electricty and limited connection for at least few weeks to a month, I would totally lose my online job (unless they understand my situation).

I think it won't affect Bitcoin's value too much. Since the majority of Bitcoin mining factories belong to whales, they are expanding their factories to almost anywhere in the world.
In addition, the mined Bitcoin will not be lost as it is stored in a cold wallet of the factory owner, so it will not affect the supply of Bitcoin. Just a natural disaster for the unlucky people, and then everything will be back to normal because the miners can be replaced very quickly.

It has been a few weeks ago since the Philippines experienced a strong typhoon, as a result of power disruption, and internet connections were lost. Those affected by the typhoon suffered severe damage, they lost their homes and sadly others they've lost even their loved ones. We cannot escape natural disaster even how strong people you are. I think it will affect only crypto users in the areas were affected because of internet loss but it doesn't mean it will affect Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies.

If ever a disaster such as earthquake would happen, it would have a very minimal impact to the cryptocurrency world. It would however have a great effect to the economic state of a country where the earthquake occurred.

During an earthquake, many unfortunate events such as infrastructures collapsing, triggering a tsunami, fire, and explosions might occur. The severity of the damages depend on the magnitude and the intensity of the earthquake. The more a place is closer to the epicenter and focus, the more damages possibly would happen. If ever an earthquake has high intensity, probably lines would be cut and it would affect the signal and connectivity of the specific area. These would result to people having no choice, but to use traditional way of payment system - cash. Digital banks transactions would be limited in that area affected as well as the transactions in cryptocurrency.

It wouldn’t totally harm the cryptocurrency community as natural calamities and disasters don’t happen simultaneously in every part of the world. Only the particular area which was hit by a disaster is going to be paralyzed and it would do only a very minimal effect. In addition, fast response and action is done during calamities. Meaning, connectivity is restored and damages are addressed as soon as possible by the local government units to avoid unnecessary accidents and decline in economic growth. Signal loss wouldn’t be much of a problem especially if the area isn’t damaged that much and is accessible for the workers who will repair the communication and electricity lines.

Losing your job is still not the biggest loss because earthquakes and such nature disasters often take away life of people and those who survive are actually very lucky so let alone the job when such natural calamities happen, I am only concerned about my life.

Economies will be damaged but you are right it would be a heist to even survive such times and there have been times in past when such disasters have happened although I don't see anything like that happening in coming years.

Such disasters will actually don't impact BTC value by much though I think because digital currencies can't be affected by what happens physically.

There's no age restriction for bitcoin, anybody can go along with it.
I have two children and both aren't grown-up yet they actually taking interest in bitcoin and set aside their cash by buying the cryptographic forms of money.
On the other hand, my dad is too old yet he actually utilizes the bitcoin from their pension, and I use a portion of my compensation to purchase bitcoin and spare it for my future.
You can join the bitcoin network regardless of who you're.
ha? what age restriction  , you might be lost because the op was talking about natural disasters and what are thier effects in crypto . now on topic , that is true @op what you have said are the first to occur when there was a disaster .

luckily disasters dont occur all the time and when it occurs it will go one by one . that gives others to prepare and that gives the other country a recovery , so crypto wont totally tear down . the negative effects wont stay forever dont worry

I would say affected Network Users should secure their devices (should be mobile and light devices) with synced Bitcoin/crypto nodes and other decentralized networks nodes.. . so that users can probably continue using Bitcoin/crypto and other decentralized systems/networks locally when things return to normal where they reside.   I think Decentralized Networks/systems should be built in such a way that local usage (without global users) can be possible. Local users can reestablish/connect with global users (as long as their applications haven't been tampered with.) once internet is possible or restored worldwide.

Ofcourse, we need to have secured sources for food, water, medicine etc... the decentralized network would also help lots of people reestablish normal life quickly.

So what do you think if the earthquake occurred in the business center and damaged the internet network in many areas.  Will the fixed market not waver?  I doubt it, but in that case the market will definitely be shaken up a little.  And the key is in the internet network, if the area is down, the market will not move in that area.  Then the number of trades will decrease too.  This is a form of my analogy how the market can be disturbed by the earthquake that occurred.

Nowadays the communication system is so robust that even if a natural disaster occur, the signal will be available within a few hours, or at the most a few days. This short disruption is not enough to have a big impact on the cryptocurrency exchange rates. Also, we need to consider the fact that natural catastrophes doesn't occur everywhere at the same time.

The covid-19 that collapsed  so many countries economy and also make their money devalue in the process of lockdown, that make other seen the way bitcoin was rising through out the pandemic, that help so many bitcoin users to live well in their environment.
No challenge of the country can cause bitcoin not to pump in the exchange market because is not under the government control. Cryptocurrencies should encourage mostly mobile-friendly network developments and participations . I would be worried once part of a Cryptocurrency main system/infrastructure is becoming fixed, hard to easily move to different locations, less mobile or non-mobile.

I agree, the highly populated area would be affected extremely bad if natural disaster would occur there. Luckily humans tend to record disasters in history. So if an area was hit very bad by earthquakes than people tend to avoid such areas or prepare more for natural disaster. For example in Japan where skyscraper actually shift with ground and air.

Cryptocurrency and its price always depend on the end user - like many other goods/services/assets. If the country N and its inhabitants after a strong cataclysm will have concerns much more important than" some " cryptocurrencies, then no God or Satoshi himself will do anything about it.
And if we assume a more serious cataclysm at the level of some shift of tectonic plates that can plunge conditional Japan into the darkest darkness, then we should think - why would they even need third-party "toys"when you don’t have ground under your feet?

Cryptocurrency can be called a instrument for the "happy" who have only those concerns related to choosing Breakfast and a tie for the evening. If you have a house on fire, then you are not interested in what the BTC rate is or when the altcoin season will be.

An earthquake in an specific region or area won't have any impact over Bitcoin's prominence in the mainstream world. The fact that the Blockchain is distributed across many countries worldwide, tells us that Bitcoin will last regardless of situations occurring in a designated area. Unless a massive EMP strike or a worldwide earthquake takes place in the mainstream world, Bitcoin won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

While the network will still operate as usual, people living on a country affected by an earthquake will certainly find challenging to get access to Bitcoin due to lack of power and Internet access. In the case of traditional Fiat, it'll still be possible to participate in the mainstream economy by using paper money. There are solutions to use Bitcoin offline though. But they're quite difficult to understand for the average person. It's why Fiat is still king (and will always be) when it comes to natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, and tornadoes. This might change if Bitcoin becomes more popular in the mainstream world.

Nonetheless, we should be prepared for the worse in case something undesired happens in the future. The odds of a global earthquake or an EMP strike taking place in the mainstream world are very low. If it does happen, expect Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to become weaker than they are right now. It's always best to diversify your investment between Fiat and crypto in order to protect yourself against any natural disasters in the future. Just my thoughts ;D

I agree with your opinion. If a natural disaster hits a country on a large scale such as an earthquake and Tsunami that causes many access road and building to collapse, then only that country will feel an immediate impact on its economy unless the disaster hits the United States. If the US economy collapses then I believe there will be a clear impact on bitcoin.

Covid-19 can also be categorized as a disaster that hit the whole world, but during that time bitcoin has become an asset that has received the attention of many investors so that the price continues to rise. Covid-19 has affected the economies of almost all countries because many people lost their jobs, access to cross-border transportation was restricted, businesses went bankrupt and many other impacts. But bitcoin has emerged as the primadonna in the Covid era and its price has soared to almost reach ATH. Is it because the US economy is strong enough or is there anything else that seems to make bitcoin an asset that can withstand a pandemic situation ?

It is good practice to keep a fully assembled "rescue kit" in a packed backpack at home. Such a set consists of a set of essentials, a supply of food (canned food, concentrates that take up little space, but carry a powerful energy supply), tablets for water purification, dry fuel, means for starting a fire, a flashlight, capacious batteries in a charged state ( recharge every 3-4 months), hygiene products, 2-3 liters of drinking water for each resident (to renew the supply of every 5-10 days to always have potable water), a simple mobile phone with high autonomy, charged, plus a spare charged battery. Thermal underwear set. 4-5 pairs of socks. Windbreakers, Thermo jacket. Survival knife, hatchet, multitool. Desirable "financial pillow" at the rate of $ 5,000 - $ 10,000 per person. The presence of firearms is within the law and it is better to have.

If this was during the infancy of the internet, bitcoin would've already died since we only have a single server on a single computer way back then. But we are lucky to be alive in the age where we have multiple servers that not only offer connectivity, but security to bitcoin as well. So unless a massive asteroid hits the planet and threatens all life, I don't see how bitcoin would die off due to disasters.
Natural disasters must only occur in a few countries, it is unlikely that earthquakes will occur simultaneously throughout the world, while those who use crypto are people all over the world, so crypto will not be affected by it
I get your idea and I am in agreement with it, though I would like to correct you regarding your claim that only "some countries" experience calamities. For all I care the whole world experiences disasters, no one place safer than the other. It's just a matter of timing.

Still, there are places on Earth where natural disasters occur more often and with larger consequences, which pose a greater danger to the population than other places. The strength of bitcoin in its current form is decentralization, and the more decentralized the network, the more resilient the system is to various natural disasters. We can talk a lot about the financial and political dangers for bitcoin, but the technical issues are not so important at this point in time.

Worse than a natural disaster have happened around the globe. With the pandemic people have affected physically, mentally and economically. If natural disaster or anything against the atmosphere could affect the growth, then it should've caused a big decline for bitcoin. What we experienced is the growth, and this means bitcoin is independent and has the potential to overcome any form of disaster depending on the support from people.

Natural disasters such as earthquakes cause a lot of damage to people and animals including livestock, but earthquakes do not have a bad effect on the whole world at once. The epidemic is far more severe than earthquakes the whole world economy has come down. People are very upset physically and mentally but people have improved a lot because Bitcoin has no detrimental effect. They have been able to overcome the disaster disasters happen in a very short time so it is not possible to take precaution.

It is not that simple. When the pandemic peaked during May 2020, we had the block reward halving with Bitcoin. Everyone was expecting a big spike in the exchange rates, but it never occured. And IMO, one of the reasons for that was the pandemic. But despite the initial slump, the mainstream markets recovered to the pre-pandemic levels in a few months time (which is clear if you look at the stock market indices). And this means that pandemic had no lasting impact on the mainstream economy as well.

if the effect of a power failure or the internet is down at just some point on earth, it's no big deal. the problem is when electricity and the internet disappear from the earth

There's something wrong in our space if that happens and that will be the end of Crypto if the internet is paralyzed because Cryptocurrency is internet base,

it is true that the existence of cryptocurrency is very dependent on the existence of the internet on this earth, especially now that the need for the internet is the most important thing in a person's life.
if only the internet really perishes, then not only will cryptocurrencies collapse, but the entire economy on earth will be destroyed. even the banking system will also be affected by this incident

It will depend on the scale of the disaster. Usually earthquake immobolize all like power, transportation and etc. There could be no way to access cryptocurrency especially if miners service are not available to confirm transaction. The good thing is that the miners are not only coming from a single area instead they are from around the world so whenever a certain hit by a disaster then other area cab function as well. The same as the bitcoin network where it could be available anytime and that you only need your device and electrical power to energize your device and access it.

This is a single horrible reason I stayed away from ETH stacking. I had frequent power outbreaks while going with cloud servers is practically costly.
AFAIK there's this thing called pool staking when it comes to ETH where you don't need to mantain your own node but all the complicated things was done by the pool provider however that also means less profit since some portion goes to the one providing the pool.

Natural disasters must only occur in a few countries, it is unlikely that earthquakes will occur simultaneously throughout the world, while those who use crypto are people all over the world, so crypto will not be affected by it
Yeah, not to mention that crypto is basically distributed ledger decentralized around the globe which means  it requires internet in a whole world to go down to make crypto network failing.

The same influence that such natural hazard have on fiat will also be felt on crypto especially if the government in such country recognized crypto as a form of money. When such natural disaster happens. People lose properties, jobs and access to social amenities so in order to revive many of this, they will need money for feeding and to purchase relieve materials. If you happen to live in such area and you have crypto seating in your wallet, you end up withdrawing it to get your wants. However since crypto is becoming a global phenomenon and not just a regional thing, the effect on the price might not be well felt. Even when the entire world is suffering a global pandemic, bitcoin is setting and a new ATH

we dont know for sure about that. what if solar flare destroy our technology advancement this past centuries? what if climate change affect our internet? anything could happen to crypto actually but its decentralized nature make it more resilient against such natural disaster but honestly, we should have some kind of backup plan if the worst case happens. i think honestly were too dependant on internet

At some part of the world this maybe a big problem because of limited resources in Fixing damages in their respective places.
But the totality of Market? this is not that much a problem .

Calamity only comes in each country in different occasions ,(aside from Typhoon that crossing boarder after boarder)

but most of those Disaster only paralyzed  one country at a time ,meaning the State of whole crypto won't Cry ,but only the affected City or country.

I hope something like this doesn't happen and I think something like this only happens to countries with governments that have accepted crypto right? cmiw. crypto would probably remain stable if the disaster was not large scale, meaning that it only affected 1 specific country. depending on the quantity and volume of use of crypto in the country as well

I believe that we can only assume an economic decline in a specific region where the natural disaster occurred, and the value of the national currency of that region will also fall accordingly, but this may not have any effect on the cryptocurrency rate.
Although if we are talking about a specific project, where the company's global control center is located in the affected country, then the rate of this cryptocurrency may indeed decrease, but this will definitely not affect Bitcoin or Ethereum.

It always depends on the casualties of natural disasters. If the earthquake caused massive damage to the whole city and affecting the most efficient way to communicate and implement jobs which almost run most of the businesses nowadays which is the internet, then the economy will be doomed. One more thing that shouldn't be damaged is the electricity, without we can't make things work properly, productivity will go down. But in this kind of situation, I don't want to think about the effects of it on our economy because the one that will be affected is us.

Natural disasters are commonly held on selected area. We have nothing to fight with it but we can escape us from heavy loss by leaving from that selected area based on weather news.

Still we are facing Covid-19 case, it can be considered as a disaster too because of its nature. Still people are getting closed at home due to lockdown in many places. Still we are facing and we will face if there has any occurrence happened.

the only difference of covid from common natural disasters is that covid is felt worldwide although covid didnt damage signals or towers therfor we can still peacefuly continue our online works including crypto .

i am not trying to say that covid is much better because covid already damaged alot of lives and jobs , there are no disasters that are good but all of them are bad . forunately the humans are just strong because despite of disasters and economic problems we are still fighting and slowly returning to our normal lives

Right so don't worry if ordinary people are interested and want to buy bitcoin,
because anyone has the right to buy bitcoin and investing in cryptocurrency is no less profitable than investing in gold,
especially investing in bitcoin because we know ourselves that until now the price of bitcoin has increased and it could still increase again

I believe that certain natural disasters would not stop the access to Cryptocurrencies as long as there is internet. So as long as the Internet keeps working, we can have access to Cryptocurrencies BUT once our access to the Internet is gone, the Crypto Industry might be affected but it must be a world wide event since there are already some place within earth that has no Internet connection and people are still looking for ways to be within this industry.

If a country experiences natural disasters, it will surely affect their economy IF they do not have any plans to recover fast. Lets take Japan for an example, ever since they are experiencing natural and unstoppable disasters, they are still having a great time because they can easily recover from it because they have well thought out plans and every country must consider copying Japan if they want to have a better response to calamities.

To be honest, if there will be a natural disaster just like earthquake that might get into our country then it would be a big problem for us because many people might die on this kind of natural disaster and also if this happens a lot of companies will go down including the economic growth of such country. It would have also an big effect the cryptocurrency because if earthquake happens there will be no signals and internet and nobody can use cryptocurrency as it needs a internet to be accessed.

Bitcoin has been built to handle even the most drastic situations you could imagine. An earthquake in a specified region won't have an effect over Bitcoin's prominence in the mainstream world, as nodes are geographically distributed. Only a global earthquake will be able to disrupt the Bitcoin network in its entirety. And you and I know this is largely impossible. What could happen is that you won't be able to access Bitcoin after an earthquake. That's because there will be no power or Internet access whatsoever. You can lose your Bitcoin holdings too, if you didn't manage to secure it properly beforehand.

Nonetheless, it's been shown from time to time that Bitcoin is a "force to reckon with". It has faced constant opposition from central banks and governments, and now the pandemic. Yet, it has been standing strong reaching new ATHs in price. Mainstream adoption for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies has increased at a fast pace. If Bitcoin has handled the worst situations in life, don't you think it can handle an earthquake easily? Just my thoughts ;D

I will assume that you are a little mistaken. In cases associated with such situations, stable cash currencies, food products, and essential medicines become the most demanded. Let's simulate the situation - there was a large-scale earthquake. You are in a large ruined city. There is no connection, communications. There are wounded, some do not have enough medicines, some have run out of food. But those in need have bitcoin. So what ? How they can use it in such a situation. The answer is simple - NO.

There is a way to make or establish a type of communication with radio waves, this just in case there is a worldwide internet failure, it is a type of study that is in project, in fact it was in project by a group of young people in Venezuela as an alternative to the great failure of the national electricity system and its internet service. At the signal level it is possible, but I think they ran out of budget and did not continue developing. I think this is a great alternative, of course it is somewhat incomplete because the miners are in evidence.

I believe that no cryptocurrency user needs to worry about their financial situation if all assets are concentrated in cryptocurrencies. Even if natural disasters occur in the country in which this person lives, the economy will suffer first of all, and accordingly the value of the national currency will decrease. Based on this, cryptocurrencies have a huge advantage over fiat currencies.

You are truly a loyal fan of crypto because if a natural disaster happens, people will worry more about preserving their lives, they will care more about food and subsidies, the economy and the damage caused by natural disasters will all be the last thing that people care about, nobody has time to think of crypto as you do during the time of disaster. The disadvantage of this story is that many holders will lose their wallets or cryptocurrencies will hibernate in their accounts forever but at least the scarcity will add value

It's true the one will be affected is the fiat currency not the bitcoin it self if come to this maybe those who had bitcoin miner business will be affected too this is the only way they get their money from it and it will be totally lost for sure. Well a one country when it comes of calamity they always use they state funds which is fiat and not any of those currencies maybe when they are ties in it or they just investing some of their economy funds into bitcoin so it can help them to grow more when it comes to fiat.

I agree on it a bit, but still, it applies not only for crypto but if you have bought stocks of international companies, or lands in foreign lands or gold, then also you won't have to worry since your resources are technically safe. But as another user said, your financial situation would be the last thing that will keep you awake at night, a natural disaster of such a level that can destroy the national economy of a country is too much to not worry about own life, survival and friend, relatives who would need money to meet their needs :)

When the pandemic was hit last year, it has a slight effect on the bitcoin price, it will I guess consider a disaster because every one of us suffered too much on that pandemic. At that time, as far as remember, bitcoin slightly drop but not too much and then after a week, it shows a significant increase and the other investment like a stock or even oil and crude was really suffered at that time, but bitcoin didn't have an effect.

Whatever happens, bitcoin will have remained its value through demand and supply.

I agree and disagree with you at the same time, because everything depends on the scale of the disaster and where the disaster occurred. Every year in the territory of our planet there are natural disasters and it is impossible to say that any of them directly really had a strong impact on the world ecomics, because usually it is concentrated on a fairly compact territory and in most places these disasters occur quite regularly and the authorities have already developed a set of measures necessary to overcome the negative consequences. Therefore, if a natural disaster occurred in a compact area, then yes, cryptocurrencies with their decentralized principle will continue to operate effectively.

Unless the situation is very much related to crypto then it may have an effect on crypto.
But natural disaster dont have effect on crypto
