Will Ripple XRP be the number one cryptocurrency before the end of the year?

Are you sure of what you are asking? what's on your mind that will cause XRP to replace bitcoin as number one coin?

No, for that to happen it would have to be adopted by all the banks and become the defacto cryptocurrency for all the banks. That is not going to happen for a couple simple reasons. Banks are never going to adopt a system that they do not control. The reason banks use the SWIFT system for money transfer over any other competing system is that they own it and all the fees it generates goes to the banks. They also know that the system can not be hacked since the only authorised users with access are banks. Banks are working on projects to update SWIFT to a blockchain. That is where the future is for transnational money transfer by banks. Not in Ripple.

Before the end of the year, I would put the chances at 0%. If you said #2 at the end of the year... maybe 30%? If you said will XRP be number one in 5 years... that is in my opinion unlikely, but certainly possible.

No, it's simply not possible. Bitcoin will be at no.1 spot by the end of this and every year. You can think of XRP at no.2 spot which i think is not going to happen by the end of this year but maybe during mid 2019.

Ripple will likely stay as a major crypto but I don't think it will be the largest. The utility for XRP is too little to justify such a valuation, and it doesn't have the ideological superiorities of Bitcoin, either.

Maybe it is number one in all altcoin since ETH was losing its spot but it does not mean that XRP will replace BTC , it remains the king of cryptocurrencies and still dominating the price as well as popularity .

Ripple has zero chance of surpassing Bitcoin.  You should read up on things like Market Capitalization and how that applies to Crypto.  Ripple is at $.46 right now.  In order for it to hit the number one spot it would have to be around $2.85.  Since the Ripple price is taken from the BTC/VRP value, the only way it can increase is by the value of bitcoin going up or the value of Ripple going up against bitcoin.  The only way for that to happen is if there is demand for it.  I just don't see enough demand happening to increase its value from .00007277 to .00043.

In my own opinion, I think that XRP may still remain in the top 3 at Coinmarketcap exchange listings. It may take a while for XRP to achieve such goal and basically the chance of becoming the 2nd rank coin is not far for XRP to meet such goal since it had already tried to overlap ETH in the past month but it didn't take longer. For as long as many investors would be investing in XRP, definitely such goal would be attain in the 2nd rank position but not in the number one slot.

No will ripple will not become number 1, because the price is very low and the ethereum is the next king if you may know and many peoplr believe that. But ripple coin is still good coin to invest and we are to buy more ripple and the highest and possible price for me for ripple is hundreds dollars and that is good to make more profit.

Ripple is certainly an innovative and powerful new system, but it does have its limitations. I certainly see it growing, but with the way the markets are right now it seems unlikely to grow that much soon. New cryptos like EVT are emerging all the time with interesting models and fresh ideas!

ETH has turn itself to a laughing stock. Its competition can only be with ripples not bitcoin. having seen its response at every rise of ripple I know it is really struggling. Its only a dream, from now on no altcoins can replace bitcoin. Xrp total supply is 100 billion very huge supply which is 60%  of XRP tokens are owned by Ripple. Maybe it is possible that ripple surpass bitcoin but it takes time and not this end of year 2018.

However, XRP developed more partners and just this morning I've read that there are more platforms such as paid social media platform  that will use XRP as a payment to their contributors and content creators as well as more platform being developed that will adopt the usage of Ripple's XRP.

Just what they claim they don't aim to be on top they focus on adoption and that what they want to do. Its true that they can make thousands of transaction per second which is why they brag for it. But truth is they are not the only who can do that, graphene and even waves platform can do that as well. The only advantageous for XRP is that they partnered with financial institutions.

I don't think this could be possible as with my understanding I think it is a good coin but has some limitation and with the market growing and prices are dropping I don't think it can sustain this inflation long.It can be a good profit roller but only for sometime and depending on market too. It's included in the crypto but it's money oriented because the creator of this platform only try to get more and more money from selling their system to the bankers in the future.

Global economic crisis or whatsoever, XRP cannot top the list of the currencies and if what you guys are looking at is market cap, it is something that would be very hard for us to see actually. One thing with the XRP market is that it is a highly manipulated market since it is centralized anyway and a lot of investors really do not support it and I personally do not even see much future for it. I think there is a reasonable chance that it will become number one in market cap, but I think there is no chance before the end of the year. Give it five years, and maybe it will be number one... but ETH and BTC and other good projects won't stand still either.

It was really surprising that Ripple have manage to surpass Ethereum recently for being the 2nd topmost crypto but I think surpassing Bitcoin as already something. Bitcoin is a way bigger crypto than ripple and keep in mind that bull run has not yet taking over the market and just imagine how strong will Bitcoin again be once recovery occured. But who knows, what we should focus at this moment is holding and avoiding to panic.

In just  two days we will be ending the year and the Ripple is far from being the No. 1 cryptocurrency. However I can say that 2018 is a breakout year for Ripple. The number of partnership with financial institutions are just staggering. You can liken Ripple as the Microsoft of Cryptocurrency. I think the winning formula for Ripple is the teams pragmatic approach in dealing with fiat. I know a lot of people don't like XRP, but Ripple do have a great coin here and are very professional in their approach. XRP could well become the standard for international banking - which is multi-trillion dollars.

XRP hasn't been the no.1 crypto in 2018, it won't be in 2019 and it will never be. XRP is viewed as a half-breed by crypto enthusiasts. For a second confirmation you can have a look at XRP chart. Straight down like all the shitcoins in the market. Altcoins need to have serious working products that are used by a significant amount of people/enterprises if they want to even have a chance to overpass Bitcoin.

I think XRP has a bright future. I used to be skeptical, thinking that people would use Ripple solutions without using XRP, but since reading up on it I now understand that XRP will be used.

Not sure about #1 crypto, BTC has a huge lead and will likely keep that lead for a long time.

XRP can absolutely be a success though, perhaps moving to #2 in cap depending on ETH (on how long it takes for smart contract adoption to develop in the real world).

I've seen a bug yesterday on coinmarketcap but it just happened within few minutes. Bitcoin was gone on the list and ethereum became the number 1 while XRP became number 2.
XRP is ranked as 3rd but it's highly unlikely to see it as number 1.

XRP is still among the top 5 altcoins in the coinmarketcap but I remember a few months back when the total circulation exceeded the marketcap of teh Etherum. I have seen the same complaints posted by the Reddit members and the bug is related to the fake volume coming from disparate sources. API trading volumes are not representing the truth and the coinmarketcap have no choice except accepting this data. That's why some warnings appear while looking at the page of exchanges and this warning are reported by the website users.  The $3 price was the high price way back to the previous bull run but the situation changed against us nowadays, unfortunately. The more traders join the crypto market the price of the Ripple will soar in my opinion.

I've seen that report about the manipulation from CMC and what's more interesting is that XRP became 2nd before without any manipulation.
But I think right now they became more aware of those reports that were sent to them.

Ripple is one among the best cryptocurrency, but for some reason it has missed its growth. The very first being the improper plan and execution of market dump and pumping. Now there is an understanding that ripple is completely manipulative. However it has got more partnering to serve on various platforms. This way it gets real growth, but even that gets termed as manipulated growth for some reason. This way it won't reach as the number one cryptocurrency.
