the decision was taken to eliminate dependence on fiat currency. because bitcoin capability if converted to fiat, will interfere.

The article means that there will be no value to the fiat and such. If this will be the case, if this will be given to you this is useless because it does not have a value anymore. But then this will happen in a long time for now. There should be a lot of adjustments to be done and it is not easy to happen.

Even with wider adoption there will still be the need to relate the value of Cryptocurrency in terms of fiat. It makes it easier to relate with. It is easier to quote the price of a cup of coffee as 5$ rather than say 0.0009 bitcoins

Those new in cryptocurrency and want to invest in it,  what will they use to get crypto is it not fiat?
Yes still fiat. They have to use other exchangers so they can have bitcoin, this is just an initiative that samourai wallet wants to do.

However, price of bitcoin still depending on USD/fiat.

Bitcoin and Fiat, can be replaceable. Because both of it already work on their side. But both of them can be collaborated and it is actually bad if we must say good bye fiat, or farewell fiat, because in crypto world, both of it can replace each other.

can you include the news link? now the price of bitcoin is still referring to USD / fiat, I think the conversion of BTC prices to USD is still good because USD has been worldwide for payments, purchases and others. usd can bring the development of bitcoin until now, initially all crypto players certainly buy bitcoin with usd, now those who can buy it with local currency are provided at the exchange place in their respective countries

That's possible to say goodbye fiat and usd to replace cryptocurrency or bitcoin in the future but sad to say need to learn of the officials how to control the manipulation of bitcoin price.

This will be a big domino effect if happens to both sides of fiat and bitcoin. They could either use each other or forget each other but most importantly is that no one should interfere on both side just let it be that way because bitcoin is still depending on USD/fiat just like what batang_bitcoin said.

It is collaborating to each other and we're on that point right now.

Having said that its actually bad if you must say goodbyte to fiat. You need to understand why bitcoin is really created and that is to flee from fiat transactions but right now we're living to the era where we are using bitcoin more of a store of value than using it to the traditional way of transactions.

but we're faaar from there. who's the opponent of crypto (and who has a reason)? banks and governments, and they still rule the world so  :-X

Still they can't eliminate the fact that bitcoin can never replace FIAT. They'll just coexist because there are some people who doesn't even know about the technology of blockchain. There are some remote areas as well that has no access to electricity or the internet.

For me bitcoin will never be a currency. People will forever deem bitcoin as an investment vehicle or a good store of value just like gold.

There are still many who don't know about bitcoin and blockchain, so bitcoin will not leave Fiat, maybe in this forum it is able to leave Fiat but in society, bitcoin will not have value.
So bitcoin and fiat will continue to run according to their role and place.

Yes, I agree with you, Fiat will not be lost and will always be used for transactions, but in the future, Fiat is only for primitive people.

bitcoin will have value, and become a major currency that is always contested by many people, bitcoin will dominate every transaction.

owh no, I mean like this, specifically for the samourai payment platform, on the other hand, they will have difficulty accessing fiat, but their long predictions for the future, they understand that in the future fiat will be small, and will have no value.

but, fiat will always be used for transactions, so that more people convert fiat to bitcoin or other digital currencies.

The evolution of currency would be evolve I taught that it was just a rumor but in reality was true, can I have the link for this? Sooner fiat would replace by a virtual currency no one knows when it comes but as you can see technology is more evolving nowadays so that no doubt that it will happen I think 5-10 years from now there is o fiat money I hope also corruption would be lessen.

Yes, I agree with you. Currently Bitcoin without USD is like a nightless day if you see USD is an exchange of bitcoin into real money or Fiat. So to say that we have to part with paper money or USD, I don't think it's time to part with the USD. But if you just eliminate the USD symbol and replace it with Satoshi, that is a good thing.

Will easy to say goodbye but hard to do it. Because lot of people didnt still know about crypto especially to those old people. Thats why its so hard to say farewell on them and infact there are some people and country against crypto. Maybe in the futurr there will be cashless society but today its impossible.

I think that's a pretty disadvantage for me. Satoshi has a relatively low value and we need to do more to quickly calculate a specific value. I used to use USD rather than Satoshi. Hope it adds Satoshi unit rather than USD.

I have a belief in Bitcoin, but I think Bitcoin and fiat will co-exist for a long time.
The fiat is backed by the state apparatus, and the Bitcoin is backed by mathematics.
Both sides have the reason to exist for the foreseeable future.

We can’t say goodbye to using fiat currency since it’s a physical asset as means of mode of payment from our day to day life. Maybe if Bitcoin will be accepted thoroughly and globally instead maybe theres a chance of not using fiat anymore.

We still comparing the price of bitcoin with USD,Isn't it?

All the people who were speculating only see the crypto currency interms of fiat and the most common wallet like coinbase and blockchain.info wallets are comparing the holdings with USD or other local currencies but that is a good initiative which can help the people not to panic sometimes.

You must not use fiat money for i think it has no use on you. Aside from that you i guess is a huge fan of cryptocurrency. Well I do believe in cryptocurrency but i am not generalizing that cryptocurrency could do better than fiat money. Fiat money is indeed a good medium for exchange and thus crypto could not surpassed. But, if we had crypto and fiat working together then it would be better.

Yes, I agree. fiat and crypto have in common as a transaction tool. it's just that crypto doesn't have physical forms like fiat and crypto can only be used in the internet network. Crypto and Fiat should have cooperation

In my point of view, I could not think that cryptocurrency can replace fiat or even USD. As of now, this is so impossible to happened because we need physical money everyday in our life. You earn a cue ball that is pegged to the dollar. The more expensive the cue ball, the more dollars you have. With a stable rate of the cue ball against the dollar, everything is stable. The more expensive a dollar is against the ruble, the more rubles you have. The more rubles, the more you can buy uh.

I don't think that fiat currency will perish in cryptocurrency because bitcoin is not fully adopted as payment all around the world so it needs fiat currency to make transactions like buying bitcoin and to make a withdrawal for this is needed to be converted into fiat money.

That's good news although I don't think it anyhow will diminish the role of fiat in our economies. USD will live on through.

I read the local news, and there is several articles that made me interesting, a few weeks ago, the mobile version of the Bitcoin wallet bitcoin platform decided to eliminate the conversion of bitcoin currencies with USD. then replaced with Satoshi.

the decision was taken to eliminate dependence on fiat currency. because bitcoin capability if converted to fiat, will interfere.

developer samourai wallet says "farewall fiat" or "goodbye fiat".

I think that is far from happening now because a lot of people still do use FIAT and a lot of people don't know about crypto so we should have to wait for a while.

Much better to put more evidence like links. this can be possible that USD can be replace by satoshi, but Fiat this will be always the primary use by the people.

I think it will affect on the investors Because most of the investors uses a Fiat to buy bitcoin or convert it since it was the easiest way to earn and trade on cryptomarket.

how can it cripple usd, there are still many developing countries that are still dependent on them, instead they think they are not ready to use bitcoin. so i think fiat currencies until the end of our lives still exist

USD currency is very good because many countries accept it for purchases, sales and more. Even now the price of bitcoin still refers to the USD, initially investors can buy bitcoin only with USD, but after crypto develops around the world, Crypto can be bought with local currency provided at the exchange place in their respective countries.

Yes its true, fiat does have a important role in our econmy and especially in cryptocurrency, it will take a lot of time to eliminate all fiat. A lot of people still consider cryptocurrency as a investation and not everyone is using it for transaction cause many merchants still not support it. So time will tell when crypto will be major thing to be use in our transactions but i truly believe it would happen eventually.

still they will go to fiat for sure, not unless the bitcoin will be widely accepted by the merchant on a certain place where you can buy ordinary primary commodities in micropayments, but until it happens fiat still the basis for our spending from day to day
I don't think so that we can easily left fiat currency or USD. Their are  so many situations present in which we still need fiat currency for our work. Bitcoin is a electronic currency, which means in order to use it we need electricity and Internet. But these things not present every where and in those place fiat currency are used most. Another thing is bitcoin is decentralised nature and it does not a fully legal currency. In many place it is still ban. Where as fiat currency like dollars are accepted everywhere.

ups, sorry bro! all the fiat that I have has become bitcoin and ETH. I regret, because I was late knowing bitcoin, so, part of my company's salary, I always use it to buy bitcoin and ETH or other digital currencies.

Then he said this.  ;D

You are referring to your salary which is fiat. Ain't you going to have a problem when your salary comes and you cannot buy bitcoin anymore.  ;D

If it is samourai like what you said then it is a good step for them. Although this world is still relying on the traditional fiat. Remember, "traditional".
You must first kill that tradition to replace it with something new.

I am a bitcoin fan but this is how the real world goes and you cannot just change that in an instant.

I do not think it is a very good idea. People will eventually check the fiat price on Google or some other places. This is the problem with non-profit things... It is free, people don't have choice and will use it anyways. A profit driven wallet would do everything it can to satisfy its users otherwise they move to convenient wallets.

Yes, that's true, for samourai wallet developers I think it's up to them because they have the right to remove USD from that wallet. But if you say goodbye to USD in general I don't approve it. Because it's not easy to remove the paper money. So just let Bitcoin and USD continue together in the economic world.

The total amount of Bitcoin is fixed and is a deflationary currency. If Bitcoin replaces the fiat currency, it will immediately lead to a deflationary economy. In other words, your wages will fall after a period of time, because bitcoin is rising; the GDP of the country that is denominated in bitcoin will never rise, and the state will increase taxes to make up the coinage tax. So I do not think that Bitcoin will replace fiat currency.

Satoshis are bitcoin units how can it be converted or exchanged to its own kind and besides if fiat will not be needed what will be the value of bitcoin and which currency will it be based? the important point is this problem is a government reference to review again about crypto growth. the government must realize public demand.

Even with wider adoption there will still be the need to relate the value of Cryptocurrency in terms of fiat. It makes it easier to relate with. It is easier to quote the price of a cup of coffee as 5$ rather than say 0.0009 bitcoins

Well I believe that time will come, there is no need for us to use it. We can conclude thatvif it happens, the bitcoin will have its own value without comparison to fiat. This will be a good thing. But then it is far to happen as of now. But who knows, future will come fast I say.

More and more institutional investors, retailers, financial institutions, banks, the stock market, and the government are entering the field of electronic money more than ever. In short, bitcoin prices can drop below $ 8,000, which is likely to be less than $ 7,000. There will also be a sudden increase and increase back to $ 9,000 and eventually $ 10,000. No investor or analyst can predict the direction of bitcoin in the short term with the definitely absolute. However, major investors believe that electronic money will continue to last and compete with traditional currencies, assets such as the US dollar and fiat. Possibly in the future, bitcoin can replace USD and fiat.

Fiat currencies are devaluing all the time, especially since they all left the gold standard thanks to Richard Nixon in 1971. Only two fiat currencies are backed by gold right now and that is the Chinese Yuan and the Israeli Shekel. Although we still need fiat, it will become obsolete in its paper form at some point and be replaced with digital currency or in our cases, with crypto currency as many are joining this area of technology and no longer work in fiat related work or jobs.

I think the US dollar and paper money cannot be replaced by bitcoin or other crypto money, because in this world there are still many countries whose infrastructure is not ready to use cryptocurrency. Now is not the time to bid fiat farewell! As simple as we think cryptocurrencies are easy to understand, not everyone is tech savvy, has seen a smart mobile phone, a computer nor heard of the internet! For fiat to finally leave the banking/economic space, there is a need beyond education/knowledge of $Bitcoin, for internet penetration and access to devices that a internet enabled for people to actually get involved! $Bitcoin and Altcoins are internet money remember?? So for anyone to use them there has to be a knowledge of them, internet enabled devices and internet itself. Then we would be talking of bidding fiat farewell! By my accessment 10 years from now we can start thinking of a farewell party for fiat.

it might be too naive to say that right now because it still takes a long time and careful preparation to really say that, we all know that blockchain still has many deficiencies in terms of security there are still many users who are exposed to hacking scams and so on, and for now I think we still really need fiat money

I think the replacement of USD with satoshi in the future will happen. However, they need to make satoshi popular enough and approved like USD. Because, we can not convert Bitcoin into a currency that is not widely used and is not approved. So, I still think Bitcoin is very dependent on fiat until now

it's a choice from the developer, but I personally don't agree, while we need fiat to transact out there. because Crypto, especially bitcoin is not widely known in all countries of the world. and is currently still being analyzed by the SEC. if it's not approved. then we will again depend on fiat to be able to reciprocal connections.

Yes that's correct and we think that we got enough members to use crypto in real life but the fact is different, there are more people in the world who has no idea what crypto is all about and if SEC rejects it then those who already use bitcoin will be skeptical as it will be rejected.

IMO, the fact is it will never happen because crypto and fiat are completely different platform of transaction.

Crypto is an asset just like gold etc meanwhile fiat is legalized transaction so if the government want to legalized crypto as fiat, I'm sure they need to make new regulation and the process is complex because crypto security still flaw and the value still volatile !

Fiat/USD being completely vanished or being useless to the society is not possible. Even if we consider the fact that all the government moves to crypto for their financial system, each country will have their own regulated cryptocurrency for sure. The only difference will be physical fiat will be exchanged with crypto. So technically fiat will be always there with us even after many decades.

I am not sure if the world crypto get rid of fiat money immediately, of course, if told to choose the community, they prefer fiat money because fiat money has long been a trust as a legitimate and real payment instrument. it took a very long time and convinced the community and the state government that crypto could get rid of fiat money.

Fiat, of course, needs a receiver, and why should they not be Bitcoin. However, Bitcoin is not yet ready to perform all the functions of money, it still takes time, and the dollar is clearly not ready to give up its positions in the world. So in the next decade, I think the monetary revolution will not take place.

Fiat currency is replaced with crytpocurrency in digital forms but not physical cash. In our daily transactions and as long as government still controls the monetary policies, it is highly unlikely that fiat will get exit from our system.

Cryptocurrencies should be stable first before they will have the capability to overthrow USD and fiat. Even though there are cryptocurrencies out there which could be considered stable like tether, they are all considered stable but their value are still based on USD. Although it should be noted that having a cryptocurrency that will become a basis for other cryptocurrency prices, even if it is still based on USD, it could be a proper step in the right direction instead of basing from a cyptocurrency that is not stable

However, the global literacy rate is not impressive especially when it comes to the technology and hence there will be the people who will always use Fiat currency irrespective of the advancement taking place in the digital sector. Thus, I don't think that Bitcoin or alt-coin will destroy fiat currency at all.

I think fiat and USD will stay whatever happen to crypto because it is important. When you buy crypto you need fiat or Usd. If you want to exchange your tokens before you can use and spend it you need to exchange it first into fiat money. Also fiat and Usd are centralized currency issued by the government while cryptocurrency is decentralized and intangible digital currency. It is difficult to say goodbye fiat and usd or just we say it may happen someday maybe it takes more years but i still doubt it to happen.

Bitcoin has many features which fiat currencies can never provide to its users and that is the reason many prefer using bitcoin over USD and other major fiat currencies even they are well established but in order for bitcoin to use widely by people in the world over fiat money it should be much popular as a good payment option in the real world through adoption so many anyone who has bitcoin will have many options and freedom to use it anywhere anytime for essential needs and if that day comes we can definitely say good bye to fiat and USD

It will eventually be replaced by a bitcoin similar to its current form just with much higher throughput and much lower fees (effectively free) with instant provable exchanges to anyone that’s anonymous and easy to build on.

But, to shift the fiat currency I think it's not as easy as reversing the palm of the hand, there are many reasons that can block the process of this revolution, some of them are: the government will insist on maintaining its products, namely the money and the bank. Fiat currencies will continue to be used by the wider community, because the currency is more malleable and easy to use by anyone.

Even with wider adoption there will still be the need to relate the value of Cryptocurrency in terms of fiat. It makes it easier to relate with. It is easier to quote the price of a cup of coffee as 5$ rather than say 0.0009 bitcoins

That's a good point, every one of us would have to carry a cryptoconverter or similar application just to buy stuff and there will be a lot of changes every hour because crypto price is very volatile he don't even know if you continue to buy if he find out the price of coffee in Bitcoin has just doubled.

i think fiat currency is still strong for now. the best achievement at this time is bitcoin can be a companion to fiat currency. and to replace it still takes a long time. Moreover, btc users are still minimal for now

Bitcoin will be able to walk along with fiat, it's hard for Bitcoin to replace fiat money because society is still very less knowledge about Cryptocurrency. So it will take a long time so that the public can use the Bitcoin or other Crypto correctly.

The use of bitcoin in payment transactions is becoming increasingly popular and is gradually replacing fiat and USD. In this way, users can peacefully store assets in the form of pre-calculations without worrying about inflation or speculation that causes price volatility.

I know that bitcoin and fiat money have their own advantages in place, bitcoin is very powerful in the digital world and fiat money is very strong in the real world. with that difference, I am sure no one will shift to each other.
in fact we still depend on fiat, so don't be too hypocritical to say that, I know you love bitcoin and crypto, but fully relying on crypto
as a currency cannot be done at this time. you know the reasons. so we are not ready to say good by to fiat

I doubt if bitcoin can replace fiat in the next several years because majority of people still preferred fiat over bitcoin. The dollar will not go into extinction because of bitcoin but it might turn into another digital currency that is still centralized. Bitcoin and digital dollar can coexist in the future and there is no need for them to compete each other and no reason also for the fiat and dollar to bid goodbye.

putting your cash to bank does not require a a fiat or a dollar , in short you wont need to pay for anything because you are the one's that lend your money for them to use .

instead banks will rather pay you an interest per year [ annually ]

Also , eliminating fiat/usd or any other traditional currency is indeed a bad decision to do because if that happens , then what is the real purpose of  our cryptos?  And how can we buy something if we aint have the medium to use ?

Government won't allow to put away fiat though, it is the currency which they control. Fiat has big role for us to buy crypto. It can be hard to have crypto without fiat specially if you do not have any idea how to work another way to earn it. Fiat will stand still and used by people, it is more easy to earn and can by small amount of commodities.

Indeed, although crypto and bitcoin are growing and achieving great results in recent years, it still can not get the acceptance of everyone around the world, even governments have always been leaders and sought to prevent the development of this sector. That tells us that crypto and bitcoin do not have a significant place in life and when we compare to fiat or usd, it can not compare and replace these two characters, both have been accepted for a long time, building a strong position in society

There is really something special on 2020 at least for me. With the amount of crypto related projects which started this year and last year, I can only assume that some, if not most, of these projects will become something most people will use which will maybe replace big platforms like twitter or even youtube. With the news posted by Dontme, It brings high hopes to my assumption.

Yes it's true, Bitcoin and USD will not be separated. Bitcoin is a digital currency that is very good for modern society today as a new breakthrough in sending money quickly and cheaply. While the USD is the currency of the real world society that has existed since time immemorial. So BTC and USD will continue side by side.

The article means that there will be no value to the fiat and such. If this will be the case, if this will be given to you this is useless because it does not have a value anymore. But then this will happen in a long time for now. There should be a lot of adjustments to be done and it is not easy to happen.
Definitely, it is a revolutionary idea to make Bitcoin entirely independent yet it has not met the mainstream adoption. Eliminating the fiat totally will cause the potential investors more hustle in order to get Bitcoin. Remember, it is with fiat that investors used to purchase Bitcoins.

I think fiat will not bid goodbye to all of us. Although we have a new currency that sometimes makes us live conveniently, fiat currency cannot be eliminate forever for a reason that not all the people all over the world have the capability to access digital currency. I believe that banknotes will forever remain, because  more practical, stable and easy to use even though they are not educated. Unlike bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Besides having to be educated because of using technology, it is also very dependent on the internet. Without the internet, cryptocurrency cannot be used.

This is an interesting thought, but we will say goodbye to Fiat and dollars very, very not soon. National money will go away for a long time, even in the country where bitcoin will be fully accepted. The world cannot change very quickly, it will take a long time.

Correct. Not anytime soon, but it will certainly happen. A complete restructuring our financial paradigm can’t happen overnight, obviously. But if analysts are convinced we will become a cashless society, then I trust it’s going to happen.

You should put up a link to a vital news or story you share here to authenticate your source. Otherwise, you are mere blabbing or playing to the gallery. On a more serious note, there's no way anyone can make fiat totally disappear in replacement for Bitcoin. That isn't going to happen. At least not in this century where a lot of countries don't even have electricity and Internet stabilized. The third world countries of Africa are glaring examples of "how not to make fiat disappear."

Well in my own opinion, improvements and innovations in one's living is great but definitely we shouldn't eradicate how we possibly become in the current state of our lives because of the new technology I dont have any disagreements regarding crypto exchanges but I am definitely okay if some of the transaction will be done using personal agreements which I think imposed the natural way of making deal and transactions and it promotes social relationships which is one of the essential things in corporate world.

just because the technology is better, does not mean Bitcoin can replace fiat money. I am still skeptical about replacing fiat with bitcoin. because there are still many reasons. especially on value and users. the state will not choose a free system without rules. because the government is a centralized rule system. so we still need fiat to convert bitcoin so that it can be used in everyday life.

Even you have read several articles or there is a site that will not rely on fiat platform anymore then still it is impossible for the fiat to be obsolete just because of the crypto currencies. Just think that the whole world are depending on fiat currencies and that not all people know how to use Bitcoin therefore it is impossible for fiat to disappear of just like that.

but people still need fiat to buy bitcoin. you can say goodbye to usd but not all fiat.

What if there are some people who want to enter cryptocurrency for the first time. How they can buy bitcoin or ethereum if they cannot use their fiat money?
you can mine cryptocurrencies (altcoins) and then transfer to bitcoin or Ethereum. then there will be no direct investment of Fiat in coins, and will be an investment in equipment.
too take much time if you do this one. you must buy crypto to people that accept fiat. bounty or mine take long time to earn coin.
I agree. If fiat is not acceptable to exchange in crypto directly, you have to find a person that you can trust and buy a coin to them, for sure they are.going to accept fiat. It could be hard and takes time to earn in bounty but much longer when mine. Everything takes time but I rather work for bounty campaigns because that is less risk.

When people replace traditional trading methods by automation, and they all use online payments USD and fiat will be replaced by Satoshi. But to replace the USD and fiat, bitcoin and its technology should try to develop further.

It will not apply to everything and they just want to hype their project it's better to post the link here so we can read everything about it, it's hard to leave your fiat for Bitcoin they can co-exist but never replace one another I doubt if there is a human alive that can live on bitcoin transactions alone.
