Can Bitcoin become the universal currency of the world? What is the reason?

I can't think of one reason why it should be it's decentralized and internet based so you go to a remote place with no internet and buy stuff there but you only had cryptocurrency so you will end up starving yourself or confined yourself to places where you can transact using cryptocurrency.

With the development of blockchain technology, it is quite possible. Electronic money is a comprehensive and useful way of being used in transactions, much more than traditional transactions.
However, getting it popular requires time. Currently, some countries prohibit electronic money, Bitcoin prices are still unstable in the market, to be widely used around the world, requiring high infrastructure and high educational standards.

I think btc doesn't need to be a global currency, because if you think like that then you will look like someone who is very obsessed with BTC and seems to care about BTC can go beyond everything, if I think BTTC is already very good and enough to become a digital currency at the moment, and it is intended for that, so to make btc a universal currency it would be very not make sanse

Can it? Yes. Will it? Only time will tell. I think bitcoin is the best contender currently to become a worldwide borderless currency, but volatility is an issue right now as well as adoption. For it to work as a currency I think volatility needs to be curbed and it needs to be adopted on a large scale. Maybe even a better currency will come along at some point that will fix bitcoin's issues, or alternatively bitcoin will smooth out the issue it has. I would prefer that to be honest.

I cannot see why any government would want to use an open source, unregulated and decentralised
currency like bitcoin. They would have no control over it.

It can't become the universal currency because it doesn't have the transactions power we need nowadays, With credit and debit cards we have close to 100,000 TPS (transactions per second) and bitcoin can confirm close to 2500 transactions each 10 minutes, so, it can be the only coin. But it can be another coin for the markets, even it can be the coin with more value  ;)

It can be but is not so easy. All countries will not easily accept and regulate it. Still, most of countries can accept in a few years.

bitcion was never meant to be the world's currency and denounce all other fiat. bitcoin is only meant to be used as a currency all around the world by people who want the freedom it gives them.

Well I think in most of the countries government Is playing placard here is the dominance of cryptocurrencies are increasing everyday the private bankers are scared as it will overtake with few years also they push the government to announce as it is not a legal one and they say it as unsecure for people's investment.

Universities and organizations accepting bitcoin as a means of donations is a regular procedure now.
It goes a little way in increasing adoption and popularity.
But bitcoin is still yet to grow to be used as a global currency.

It can't, simply because the properties of bitcoin doesn't fit what the economy of the world needs, let alone a single country. It can be used for online and cross-border transactions, perhaps a form of salary if regulations will permit such, but that's as far as bitcoin goes. It cannot be used for stimulating the economy and for the central banks' quantitative easing since there are parameters in which new bitcoins are created, and it cannot be broken. For bitcoin to assume the role of a universal currency, it should be controlled, and that's not gonna happen no matter how many proposals and years of pleading it would take.

The success of bitcoin in the future is 50/50. It can become a universal coin that will be used by everyone in the world, but it can also die forever. Bitcoin is a good coin, I love it, but it has some big problems that can prevent it from becoming a universally accepted currency.

Bitcoin is been used by a lot of people across the world. bitcoin is a decentralized crypto currency and of course a decentralized system that is a system of freedom in financial matters so that there is no central as a financial regulator, it makes me think that bitcoin cannot become a global currency, I think in financial settings globally of course the government will have a role in making regulations related to finance.

Bitcoin can't be the universal currency. One reason is its recognition issue set by countries in the world. It seems this is a desire of many, but we need to try to be realistic about bitcoin, a transaction with bitcoin simply takes too long at the moment while a transaction with cash only takes a few seconds, cash does not need anything except the other party to accept the cash you are carrying but with bitcoin you need a lot more than that, you need to have a device capable of sending bitcoin transactions and the other party needs a way to accept those payments as well.

I think one unique currency is impossible, but one that could be universaly it's pretty acceptable like gold or US dollars. If you go to the center of Paraguay they accept dollars the way you want, even in countries pretty closed (like Cuba) the US dollar is acceptable.

I don't think the government will give room for bitcoin to become a universal currency because they believed is a kind ponzi currency and also it decentralized nature will make it difficult for government to get their Taxes.
