nothing about "spam" is funny! and the amount of bitcoin you received is going to cost you more than it paid you or at the very least it is going to be a nuisance when you have to deselect that particular transaction output each time you want to make a new transaction so that it doesn't increase your transaction size.

not to mention that it is a new unspent transaction output which nodes have to have in their memory from now on for no reason!

Are you sure you didn't just sign up with their service or something?

I wouldn't be surprised if this was some form of welcome bonus, or may could just be an attempt at promotion by OP.

I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't think twice about finding or seeing this show up in a wallet.

I say this is no joke. Because they will not send the amount of BTC without knowing your BTC address. So, I want you to recall that. You may have participated in an airdrop campaign that was paid for with BTC.

Strange, the wallet sends bitcoins just like that. I understand that the amount is small, but still the question is why. At the moment, many transactions have been made, each of which is 0.00000546 BTC. Total was distributed in the amount of 0.02365002 BTC. Looks like Airdrop!

I think it's possible that you are following an airdrop or telegram bot that gets a salary of 500 satoshi. Then the airdrop or telegram bot pays not using satoshi but directly with bitcoin.

Well I have seen things like this happen more often.
It basically is a company/coin/whatever that wants to attract attentions, and sends out a large number of very small amounts to known used addresses, and hope that the receiver will check out who sent it.

Obviously, it's kinda like it is and there is no way that they know his wallet address unless he tells it to them via signing up or whatever it is just to reveal his entire address. Also, it could be a spam for those who joined something just like what some people said at the top, it might be at any airdrop group.

This usually happens with Tokens. But I do not know if it makes any sense make this with BTC. He probably has received some tip from someone from a job or service he provided.

Marketing of this kind does not make sense. The owner of the wallet will see only one address and will hardly search further as the owner, or if it is a famous wallet.

Do not mind it. But if ever the sender asks you to join a site or invest for the site he will introduce to you, then probably it is a scam. He just sent 500 satoshi just to make you believe that they are paying. 500 satoshi is just a small amount of bitcoin. Think twice and check before joining. Just keep playsafe.

i have experience like that to when i open my wallet there a token inside of it then i realize that long time ago ihave participate in airdrop and i think that the reason when i have token in my wallet..most airdrop that paid you in couple of month so think of it... because it imposible to receive token without giving your btc address..

No it was definitely some sort of airdrop or spammed transaction. If you follow the address it shows a long list of transactions for identical amounts.

If it was random that's not hard either. They can literally just check transactions on the blockchain and send whatever they feel like.

Well I wouldn't also doubt the OP's memory retentiveness because he couldn't just forgot to be expecting some Bitcoin especially of such a small magnitude and be wondering so I think it could have been a mistake and the sender Probably was sending to a bunch of people and mistakenly included his address.

If it is just 500 satoshi I will not even bother it's not even a 10 cents in the market, your motive is just to promote the site I think you are the owner of that site, why not launch a promotion by giving $1 worth of Bitcoin by just subscribing to your newsletter, this is a cheap advertising.

You don't have to announce that if it's only 500 satoshi, you should have announce how good the site is in tracking your wallet grade among other things then proceed that will get 500 satoshi for doing something, 500 something is not worth for doing task now when you can earn a thousand times in bounty campaign.

Either random or they were just sent It wrongly and its for some other address that join airdrops, though you are right that its a ridiculous amount lol..anyway just keepit and it may grow value in the nexr 10 years or more 😂

That's amazing as this looks like a free gift. Potentially no one would love to send such amount of Bitcoin just for free if not promotion, bonus or airdrops. Maybe you have applied in airdrop long time ago and forgotten or free bonus for signed up in any of the website. If this is untrue then be ready for the worst maybe its just a spam.

I think this kind of case happened to another user or someone's bitcoin wallet. And if you see the number that is only 500 satoshi, chances are it's the result of airdrop or you participate in other gifts. Think of it as an unexpected fortune and it is not something that is funny or accidentally misdirected. Hopefully you are always lucky, friend  :)

I was browsing my wallet details on Blockchain's explorer, and after doing some digging into who might've sent me the coins, I stumbled upon this thread. My transaction happened to come from the tx eb475a400defc4d3223be7dd8c1afb73fc6f558220770ac55601b030d5312b91 (https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/eb475a400defc4d3223be7dd8c1afb73fc6f558220770ac55601b030d5312b91) and the same address as listed in the OP, 1ViViGLEawN27xRzGrEhhYPQrZiTKvKLo. Seems like this is coming from a service named Vivigle that specialized in 'rating' cryptocurrency, funnily enough I am getting a "C" looking up my wallet on their site. I don't appreciate spam at all and I'd rather have one less transaction than one or two cents coming into my wallet, though. I combine transactions every few months on purpose so that I don't get increased fees on every transaction I make, and this just sets me back every time I clean up my wallet(s). Definitely seems like Vivigle's trying to advertise itself through this new form of advertisement, though having to Google the wallet address just to find out where the coins are from doesn't seem very efficient for advertisement to me.

that's really strange to tell you honestly, you might be joined before in bitcoin faucets then it just sent to your wallet, but to send it to your wallet without any reason, that's really insane and ridiculous mate. A random selections coming from the owner of that project, same like with other post here, maybe its's a new way for promoting the project, given those who received the said amount of satoshi and being curios it will lead them to find the site where details will be explained, but considering the effort of
checking where the funds came won't be bothered those many people who knows the value of 500sats.

thats an expensive way of promoting because he will only cost more fees than the actual amount he sent  and this kind of promotion is not super effective because 99 percent of people wont bother to track the address on where the coins were sent  .

how can we get a free satoshi

you can get free sats at a bitcoin faucet .

It seems that you may have forgotten that once upon a time, you've participated in their airdrop or something.
I am most certain that you've done something. Nowadays, nothing is free. How on earth will they be able to have the informations of your wallet? Did they randompicked it out of thin air

if its an airdrop then the payment should be a token or an altcoin .

It is no reason to be funny. It is not a dash, but a trap I guess. You cannot use it, you cannot spend it and you cannot even remove it. It is truly a nuisance.

I've also recieved a few random payments (worth about 10 cents) when I just created my wallet. It's just spam or something, and I don't think it's for a good cause. For instance, my phone wallet could freeze and crash if I get too many small payments on it. But it's okay if you get only a few, then you shouldn't really mind it.

I read the information that some Chinese or Japanese project confused tokens with bitcoin and sent people bitcoins to their wallets. But there seems to have been the sum of more than 500 Satoshi. In any case, these Satoshi could not come to you just like that. Most likely, you just indicated your wallet in some project.

I don’t see a problem here, the sender could simply be mistaken and that’s all, in any case they don’t ask to return the amount to them, which means everything is fine, and this is important for them. Even if it was an advertisement, all the more so why not worry! I'm sure they will not throw anything else! And the owner of the wallet is not worried about anything.

I am pretty sure that the transaction of 546 satoshis would have been made to several BTC holders. The reason might be anything from the below.

1. Faucets/Airdrops/Campaigns/Bounties (Pretty good chances for it to be the reason)
2. Advertisement/promotion from some company/exchange ( I hardly think about it because it happens only on tokens)
3. Someone (probably a hacker) is targeting people who have high balance by sending them few chunks of Satoshis and then following the track

I have read about the 3rd point somewhere and if this is the reason then you might land in trouble if you don't change your address soon by using a mixing service.

maybe you join the bounty or airddrop and i think that you get from airdrop, or maybe you receive 500 satoshi from faucet that you join from some website, you should find where you input your bitcoin address

I don't believe that they give bitcoin for free, and even how they know about your bitcoin address.
try to remember again, maybe you've ever participated in a project or something that rewards bitcoin?

no promotion mate (though ridiculous amount ;D ) i don't share my btc addresses on public, not interested in forum campaigns or others . i'm not sure how they find my address but probably random .

If not for the above, I would have just said it was randomly sent and that no need for much worry where it was sent from because if you expose your address in public, some mistake could get a coin to someone's wallet.

You may have participated in an airdrop campaign that was paid for with BTC.

it seems like a bonus from an affiliate deposit, maybe you have provided a web referral from one of the market accounts that you have, maybe you never give a bitcoin address to anyone, but maybe you give a referral link

you must have signed up an airdrop probably that you forgot about already but, not bad. I also noticed I have some coins in wallet I didn't know how did they come but what was sure was I used to fill out registration forms to some airdrops and tasks to make to received some coins and it did pay.

i have checked my wallet and found payment of 0.00000546 BTC from address i don't know 1ViViGLEawN27xRzGrEhhYPQrZiTKvKLo.
first time i receive something like this  :D.
i did some google search ,turned out a site with name vivigle who sent it , i don't care if this just advertising , it's funny  ,

oh amazing that's very impossible who's give you  that amount higher than to transaction fees, the most big question here is how can sent you satoshi if you can't give your BTC deposit address. sorry to tell you and do not offend nobody can believe you. good luck if somebody out there rides in your crazy story.
He knows the exact source of that 546 Satoshis. His last statement gives account of the fact that he is only advertising for the name vivigle. He only wants us to find out more about the source but I do not think I will fall for this.

Though 500 sat is not that high but since you said it was your first time and i know that kind of feeling so let me congratulate you for that accidentally transaction.
Why would you congratulate OP, from how I see it the 546 satoshi is an inconvenience to him because unnecesary outputs like these only increases the transaction size and encourages you to use a bigger fee.

It's not the third reason, on a reddit thread a user named viviglecom said they're using the satoshis to advertise and test their system.

This is the thing on my mind where these satoshis came from some sort of advertisement and some test phase.Even myself recieving some satoshis out of nowhere
but i dont know why some people do really make it a big deal and drawing up some unrealistic presumptions lick that 3 option. :D

Actually he should have earned those small satoshi amounts most likely from their referral system: https://vivigle.com/site/earnings

All referral payments will be added to your Vivigle wallet automatically

No clue if he had real referrals and he's legitm or someone hacked his account and basically transfered with some sort of connection to his address.

500 sats worths only 0.2 USD now. But I can't understand why they sent you only 500 sats. It is less then transaction fee.

nothing about "spam" is funny! and the amount of bitcoin you received is going to cost you more than it paid you or at the very least it is going to be a nuisance when you have to deselect that particular transaction output each time you want to make a new transaction so that it doesn't increase your transaction size.

not to mention that it is a new unspent transaction output which nodes have to have in their memory from now on for no reason!
Nothing big. Either you have to deselect when you are creating new transaction or receive some funds on that address later when you are in need of BTC. It will work, although the amount any step you take doesn't going to be worthy.

This happens to people all the time and I dont think there is a reason as to why.
Still, its not like you randomly received a life changing amount of satoshis, barely a few cents.
Sometimes I check my MEW and I have some random tokens in there but I will never use them.

In the MEW it is normal that you will received some token on your account due to most of the time your MEW address been published on the bounty campaign specially when you are joining in different campaigns here.

Well, if you got it then good but surprisingly thing is that how they get your bitcoin address? May be you do something for them. Better to ask them, and if you are not interesting on it then enjoy it. But still it is strange thing, may be some probably random then it is happened and by mistake they sent 500 satoshi in you ID.

maybe you get BTC through airdrop or other bounty, try you to remember! because it is impossible for you to receive payment without anyone knowing your BTC address. it's not funny and I once experienced the same thing as you.

it is in BTC then the sender might get the BTC thru the application of the receiver to a particular campaign, this is normal since our BTC address are published publicly meaning anyone of us can send some BTC to an address owned by someone we dont know.

there is much expenses on spending the fees rather than the total amount that you received, I guess it is just a test sending BTC to someones address before doing a huge sending amount.

That is also what I had in my mind now, or perhaps a faucet or a consolation prize from a contest that he joined but he forgot when.
It is impossible to happen to send BTC in your wallet and you don't know if it an error or what.
By the way OP, as now 500 sats is just nothing. But at least you've still got on that.
