I choose Reputation instead of Meta so I can make this topic self-moderated. And I think forum politics fits here better. Background A month ago: is there a way to see one's eligibility? Like how many 10-merit users are including the user? I may make a rankup list somedayTwo weeks ago, I created LoyceV's Trust list viewer (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5102296.0) in Meta. It took me until now to tackle this: I have 4 updates planned 2. I'd like to highlight users who are close to DT1, say with 8 or 9 out of 10 inclusions DT1 Rank up pipeline See loyce.club/trust/ranking (https://loyce.club/trust/ranking/) for the list. Criteria (green is included by me, red is ignored): - If rank was determined solely using earned merit, then you must be of at least Member rank. - You must have been online sometime within the last 3 days. - Your trust list must include at least 10 users, not including ~distrust entries. (I think 9 + DefaultTrust qualifies too (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5107427.msg50650089#msg50650089)) - You must not be banned or manually blacklisted from selection. - You must have posted sometime within the last 30 days. - You must have at least 10 people directly trusting you each with an earned merit of at least 10, not including merit you yourself sent. These "votes" are limited (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5095156.msg49220414#msg49220414). - You must have at least 2 people directly trusting you with an earned merit of at least 250, not including merit you yourself sent. These "votes" are limited (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5095156.msg49220414#msg49220414). Sorting I've made some more or less arbitrary choices for sorting, depending on the number of votes from users with 250+ or 10+ Merit. Limitation I have included all users that fit all criteria but lack the required number of inclusions. That means a user with only 1 inclusion is listed. However, I did not include users who don't have enough (=10) users on their own Trust list. It is possible some users with enough inclusions only need to add one or more users to their own list, and they'll end up on DT1 out of the blue. That means this list can't be used to detect all new DT1 users early. DT1-exclusions I ignore DT1-exclusions, as that happens after the DT1-election. Blacklisted users The following users are blacklisted from voting for DT1 (source (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5128907.msg50491004#msg50491004)): Code: 1231252 Updates I plan to create weekly updates, overwriting old data. Boring layout I'm not much of a designer, but I'm open to suggestions. I would especially appreciate some magic CSS code tables (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5102296.msg49555605#msg49555605) to align the list. I think maybe an easier way would be to list current DT1 members separately, and then all others in a different table by number of 250+ votes? I used this:Code: ranking 2 2 10 Second digit: minimum number of users in the category choosen above Third digit: minimum number of inclusions in total So, "ranking 2 2 10" means: start with all users with 2 or more inclusions from users with 250+ Merit, and at least 10 inclusions in total. My idea was to make 1 inclusion from 250+ show up slightly higher than someone with 1 inclusion from 10+. And this is the part in which I made it difficult for myself. And in a few years, the DT1-election: Rank up pipeline will consist of many users with 250+ earned Merit because in most cases there are much more merited users setting up a custom trust list than new users. Or let's say some former users of the 10 - 249 earned Merit part will be users of 250+ earned Merit in long-term. @LoyceV do you know if there is a way to know which votes actually count? If you trust more people than your limit, then you will vote for the people to whom your vote will be the most useful, more-or-less. My interpretation:Suppose you're including A, B and C, but you have only one vote. Now suppose other users also included user A, and user A has enough votes to be DT1 already. Now suppose user B isn't included by enough users to reach DT1. That means your vote would be wasted on user B, so it goes to user C, who then gets included. A single 250-Merit vote can be splitted in multiple 10-Merit votes but not for the same person. At first, I thought if someone has earned 260 Merit and includes someone in his trust list he should be able to vote one time 250 Merit and one time 10 merit. But it looks like it isn't calculated this way, otherwise everyone would have at least the same number of 10-Merit votes as he has 250-Merit votes, so I assume every account can only vote one time for another account either it's 250 Merit or 10 Merit. Oh, and by the way. For someone to be able to vote for you on the 10 merit or 250 merit level, any merit that you gave to that person doesn't count. So if someone has you on the trust list with 12 merits and you gave them 3, their vote cannot go to you for the 10 merit level. Or if someone has 262 merits and you gave them 13, their vote cannot go to you for the 250 merit level. Just so you know, you are already on DT2 because Bill gator has you on his trust list and he is DT1. So if someone has you on the trust list with 12 merits and you gave them 3, their vote cannot go to you for the 10 merit level. Foxpup needs a total of 2 votes from different users. It is conceivable that all these users' votes are currently being used on other members, and so there would be no free votes available to give to Foxpup. If a user is receiving more than 2 votes, then only 2 are counted and the others are redistributed to "people to whom the vote will be most useful". As far as I know, theymos has not given details of how this is calculated. What about users that have between 500 and 1000 merit? Do they get 2 votes? That's a lot more complicated than I thought it was, but your explanation is the best I've heard thus far. Thanks. For me, the system works fine until now, the only thing is just like what you said, it's more like a bingo game, 100/160(estimated) users will be picked, and a load of new DT can replace those old DT.
